Betting Preview DMMA 99 - Barboza vs. Taylor - London 17/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Bento Barboza(1.92) 5-2-0 vs. Pete Tyler(1.72) 7-1-0

The Main Event sees the former Heavyweight Champion, Bento Barboza, acting as a gatekeeper against Pete ‘Piledriver’ Tyler.  Since losing in his second ever bout Tyler has been on a tear, smashing his way through a six fight undefeated streak.  Tyler, only 24 years old, is incredibly well-rounded, and a BJJ black belt to boot.  The Angel of Death, Bento Barboza is an outstanding kickboxer and won the Victory Grand Prix title before turning his attention to MMA.  It will come down to strategy.  If Tyler can take the fight to the ground expect him to exploit his advantage, how well though is difficult to tell, as Barboza has never been submitted.

Our Pick - Pete Tyler to win by decision(1.72)

Co-Main Event

Xylon Kofel(1.82) 10-3-1 vs. Aubrey Grant(1.82) 7-3-0

The Co-Main Event brings the man who sounds like a laxative medication, Xylon Kofel, defending his Lightweight title against Aubrey Grant.  These two fighters are incredibly well matched, winning a consecutive 12 fights in a row between them.  Technically speaking, Grant perhaps has a slight edge in boxing ability.  Both fighters like to slip into a combination of lead jabs and leg kicks to manage the distance against each other so expect a bruising confrontation, that ultimately as both fighters so often tend to, end in a decision. The question of who gets their hand raised at the end of the evening will depend on precisely how Kofel fares when facing a fighting twin who is ten centimetres taller than him.

Our Pick - Aubrey Grant to win by decision(1.82)

Main Card

Ansis Kaupens(1.85) 13-3-1 vs. Ray Luciano(1.79) 12-2-0

Hyatt Wayne(1.85) 9-5-0 vs. Pate Murhapuro(1.79) 8-7-3

Kwasi Kwong (1.80) 14-0-0 vs. Semba Rua(1.83) 10-7-0

Preliminaries

Miles O’Brien(1.83) 6-4-0 vs. Sebastian Bach(1.80) 9-11-0

Bruce Lee(1.83) 6-3-0 vs. Jacob White(1.80) 8-7-1

Ralph Hall(1.79) 10-6-0 vs. Rich Voss(1.85) 8-7-0

Mr Mojo Risin(1.80) 8-3-0 vs. Curtis Rome(1.83) 7-9-1

Charles Bukowski(1.82)7-8-0 vs. Masa Satake(1.82) 8-7-0

Betting Preview SFL 152 - Marley Fest II - London 20/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Giuseppe Hopkins(1.61)    30-6-2 vs. Valentin Taneyev(2.08)    25-11-1

The Main Event sees a clash between Giuseppe Hopkins and Valentin Taneyev for the Light Heavyweight Title.  Afghan Hopkins, the reigning title holder, is riding a three fight win streak and tends to rely on his striking to stop his opponents.  BJJ black belt Taneyev, could look to fight safely and take it to the ground and rely on his natural advantage.  However, with 14 fight of the night bonuses between them we know what’s going to happen.  They are going to stand toe to toe and try and knock each others heads off.

Our Pick -    Valentin Taneyev to win by K.O in the first round.

Co-Main Event

Ultima Koivisto(1.79)    28-11-0 vs. Zaid Al Balushi(1.85)    16-4-0

The co-main event is a Lightweight Title clash between Finn Ultima Kolvisto and Zaid Al Balushi.  Former Rolex dealer Al Balushi has an enormous 7 cm advantage and will likely try to use his jab and leg kicks to keep the diminutive Finn at a distance.  It is imperative that Kolvisto closes him down and takes the fight to the ground where he can use his black belt to torture his opponent.

Our Pick -    Ultima Koivisto to win by submission in round four.

Main Card

Ay Blyad(1.85) 18-5-0 vs. Linton Miller(1.79) 20-11-2

Tacticus Kilgore(1.85) 21-9-0 vs. Soviet Remnant(1.79) 22-8-2

Valen Dreth(1.83) 15-5-0 vs. Bert River(1.80) 14-8-0

Preliminaries

Panda Aorigele(1.82) 26-17-1 vs. Genghis Khan(1.82) 16-8-0

Caio Victor(1.83) 22-10-0 vs. Rasmus Reedtz(1.80) 17-10-0

Grigoriy Petrov(1.89) 14-8-1 vs. Cornelius Myers(1.75) 13-8-0

Kollaa River(1.79) 17-10-2 vs. Koba Dvalishvili(1.85) 13-8-1

Dado Damba(1.77) 8-8-0 vs. Teodors Ozolinsh(1.87) 40-25-0

Betting Preview GAMMA 943 - Huwan vs. Augustus - London 23/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Huwan Bagwis(1.80)    25-9-0 vs. Aurelius Augustus(1.83)    11-1-0

The grand finale sees a Welterweight Title on the line as Huwan Bagwis takes on Aurelius Augustus.  The defending champion Bagwis is riding a four fight win streak, and the older, naturally heavier man has a challenge on his hands again “The Kaiser”.  Augustus, unbeaten in his last three is almost a carbon copy of his opponent.  Possibly the only area where Bagwis has an advantage is boxing.  Expect him to be jab happy as he looks to control each round in very much the same way that has brought him his last three wins.

Our Pick -   Huwan Bagwis to win by decision.

Co-Main Event

Shane Raffington(1.80)    21-13-1 vs. Jack Spratt(1.83)    17-5-0

World War Two veteran(I can’t believe I’m writing that) Shane “The Colonel” Raffington faces off against Jack Spratt in the co-main event.  Raffington, the master of the TKO(he has finished 76% of his opponents this way) has his work cut out in the former Welterweight Champion.  Spratt, 7 cm taller than his opponent could well strike an upset if he is patient and uses his reach.

Our Pick -   Shane Raffington to win by TKO in round three..

Main Card

Igla Chien(1.65) 24-8-0 vs. Song Turillo(2.02) 32-12-1

Edward Conan(1.83) 22-11-0 vs. Carey Mahoney(1.80) 24-20-1

Valen Dreth(1.83) 15-5-0 vs. Bert River(1.80) 14-8-0

Preliminaries

Robert MacArthur(1.92)41-23-1 vs. Corey Smith(1.72) 30-20-1

Patrick River(1.80) 15-11-1 vs. Papa Moosh(1.83) 35-14-0

H. Magomaevaboff(1.71)18-15-0 vs. Hurricane Defoe(1.90) 17-8-0

Kebab Nurmeinen(1.79)18-12-0 vs. Santino Lombardo(1.85) 31-12-0

Jewel Diaz(1.87) 16-8-1 vs. Twea King(1.77) 20-9-2

Santiago Costa(1.63) 26-24-0 vs. Serafim Lupel(2.09) 26-18-1

Betting Preview DMMA 100 - Mack vs. Nansen - London 23/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Kain Mack(1.92)   10-4-0 vs. Thorvald Nansen(1.72)    12-6-0

The main event sees two fighters on winning streaks face off.  Decision specialist Kain Mack looks to have his hands full in the shape of former Dynasty Lightweight Champion Thorvald Nansen.  Nansen, a true embodiment of a modern day viking from a great MMA lineage, not only is a handful on his feet, but happens to be a BJJ black belt.  Expect Nansen to get the fight to the ground as quickly as possible to exploit his unnatural talents.

Our Pick -   Thorvald Nansen to win by submission in round two.

Co-Main Event

Victor Contreiras(1.80)    12-5-0 vs. Never Hurry(1.83)    6-1-0

The co-main event will likely see bombs raining down from the opening bell.  With 18 wins, and 18 finishes between them, don’t expect this to go into round two.  These two fighters are very well matched on their feet and expect it to quickly turn into a crap shoot.  Hurry has the more impressive skills on the ground but don’t expect him to use them.  This one will come down to who has the stronger chin.

Our Pick -   Victor Contreiras to win by TKO in round one.

Main Card

D. Intervention(1.80) 9-3-0 vs. Hassan Fezzik(1.83) 11-7-0

Jean Luc Petit(1.68) 8-9-0 vs. Maurits Assndrop(1.98) 7-3-2

Hjallis Kalske(1.83) 6-2-0 vs. Delvidas Vilkas(1.80) 5-1-0

Preliminaries

M. Zimmerman(1.82) 10-8-1 vs. Niko Ahonen(1.82) 4-3-0

Yar Boi(1.82) 9-6-0 vs. J. Sobieskiego(1.83) 9-6-1

Billy Wilson(1.98) 7-3-1 vs. Shape Shifter(1.68) 7-7-0

Math Riddle(1.77) 3-9-0 vs. Keanu Reeves(1.87) 1-2-0

B. Bilkington(1.74) 0-0-0 vs. Asaki Hanaki(1.90) 3-11-0

Betting Preview Syn Supernova XII - London 24/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Karim Johnson(2.02)   23-5-0 vs. Kilo Maluga(1.65)    40-8-0

A night of title fights kick off with a Heavyweight Title rematch between Karim Johnson and Kilo Maluga.  In the first meeting Johnson won by TKO in the first round.  Maluga had defended the belt twenty times and seemed to come into the fight unfit as he was breathing heavily inside the opening two minutes.  It is hard to say whether it was a question of preparedness or poor game planning.  This time round Maluga should look to play it safe and get the fight to the ground where he has the most advantage, however it's an approach that Maluga never looks to exploit.  With 8 fight of the night bonuses and 29 KO of the night bonuses between them it will likely come down to the first fighter that blinks.

Our Pick -  Karim Johnson to win by TKO in round one.

Co-Main Event

Torhte Finlayson(1.69)    28-2-0 vs. Guilherme Godoi(1.96)    19-5-0

The co-main event sees the Super-Heavyweight title up for grabs seeing the champion on a nine fight win streak facing Godoi who is on a five fight streak.  “The Ginger Bear” Finlayson is a notorious finished having never been taken to a decision.  Expect him to use his Muay Thai to manage the distance until Godoi makes a mistake.

Our Pick -  Torhte Finlayson to win by TKO in round one.

Main Card

A. MacArthur(1.77) 21-5-1 vs. Max Chaos(1.87) 34-12-0

J. Marceau(1.83) 44-20-0 vs. Oliver Lancaster(1.80) 30-13-0

S. Gustaffson(2.00) 28-18-0 vs. Randy Randleman(1.67) 20-7-0

Preliminaries

Joe Dinapoli(1.47) 22-2-0 vs. Just Whymer(2.38) 39-15-4

C. De Boise(2.13) 18-5-0 vs. Beau Abner(1.59) 16-2-0

Dick Pawlik(1.80) 22-10-1 vs. Jacque Joteel(1.83) 26-13-1

Winston Todd(1.74) 24-4-1 vs. Maxim Jahouli(1.90) 21-7-0

Betting Preview DMMA 101 - Johnson vs. Outback - London 24/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Kareem Johnson(1.87)   13-3-0 vs. Macca Outback(1.77)    13-2-0

The main event of the evening sees two streaking fighters rematch for the Middleweight title.  The first time around Kareem Johnson won by decision in a three rounder.  This time out Johnson looks to have the thinnest of edges with his Muay Thai and Wrestling game.  The concern looks to be that Johnson has forgotten how to finish and fought fifteen rounds in his last three fights.  Stats like that are sure to shorten his career.  I suspect a yawnfest is imminent.

Our Pick -  Kareem Johnson to win by decision.

Co-Main Event

Ramone Rocksaw(1.69)    11-5-0 vs. Salomon Mukunzi(1.96)    7-5-0

The co-main event sees another Middleweight fight between the excellently named Ramone Rocksaw against the frightening Salomon Mukunzi.  Both fighters come into this off the back of losses and will be looking to find their way back to the win column.  Rocksaw looks to have a slight advantage on his feet, and coupled with a seven centimetre height advantage, it should be enough to ensure he has some success as long as he fights smart.

Our Pick -  Ramone Rocksaw to win by TKO in round three.

Main Card

Lucas McCain(1.89) 9-4-0 vs. Vitali Kersikov(1.75) 6-2-0

Gen Tenryu(2.04) 10-7-0 vs. Segundo Garcia(1.64) 6-2-0

Gee Gutsu(1.61) 8-6-0 vs. Alexander Borgia(2.08) 6-7-1

Preliminaries

Art Bowers(2.15) 7-7-0 vs. Dick Dennison(1.57) 5-2-0

Ben Sisko(2.35) 9-6-0 vs. Vasily Khrapov(1.48) 2-0-0

R. Nadadora(1.74) 11-7-0 vs. Dezmond Drake(1.90) 5-4-0

B. Harrisburg(1.48) 8-2-0 vs. Javier Pimba(2.35) 11-12-0

D. Bright(1.01) 5-5-0 vs. Anderson Gracie(9.52) 0-1-0

Betting Preview RISE 57 - Ihantala vs. Halo - London 24/4/22

The Betting Preview is brought to you by Saturnia Bookmakers, the home of UK MMA betting.  All prices are based upon original starting prices.

Main Event

Tali Ihantala(1.82)   13-8-0 vs. Prana Halo(1.82)    9-3-0

The Super Heavyweight title is on the title in the final bout of the evening.  It is a rematch of a fight which Halo took by decision which seemed to galvanise his opponent.  Since the first meeting stand up specialist Ihantala is riding high on a five fight win streak which has completely transformed his record, after going 5-7 at Heavyweight.  Submission specialist Halo has won his last two and finished seven of his nine wins by submission.  It is a tantalising match up, one for the MMA purists pitting the art of stand up with ground fighting, and ultimately the competitors’ recent form is incredibly hard to ignore.

Our Pick - Tali Ihantala to win by TKO in round one.

Co-Main Event

Peguero Phillipe(1.71)    15-10-0 vs. Jab Buckeye(1.94)    22-19-1

The co-main event brings one of the most interesting Super Heavyweights fighters today against a man with a fantastic name and a penchant for wearing onesies.  Former soccer player Phillipe is still a wanted man in Haiti, who brings the kind of brawling braggadocio that so often leads to explosive finishes.  His opponent “No Quit” Buckeye looks thoroughly outgunned, and will have to rely on his wrestling chops to survive.  With nine fight of the nights between them we may well be in for a treat.

Our Pick -  Peguero Phillip to win by TKO in round three.

Main Card

Karl Anderson(1.68) 4-0-0 vs. Elinho Mineiro1.98) 5-1-0

Chad Strdoza(1.63) 14-22-0 vs. N. Panayotov(2.06) 21-21-0

Kamil Krahujec(1.44) 3-2-0 vs. Seiji Tanikawa(2.47) 1-2-0

Preliminaries

Jerry Jankens(2.22) 2-1-1 vs. Vasil Dankovich(1.54) 4-1-0

Ian Garry Iii(6.45) 0-1-0 vs. Willy Nilly(1.06) 1-5-0

C. Mesquita(1.54) 3-1-0 vs. Tyrann Madden(2.22) 1-1-0

John Chandler(1.01) 2-2-0 vs. Jim Fish(9.52) 0-0-0

I am going to suspend the previews for now as it is a bit like shouting with my head down the toilet.  If you have an event in the UK and are interested in featuring Saturnia's picks in your preview get in touch with Wayne Kerr(141329).

Essentially I am looking to promote Saturnia any way I can.  So whether it be cross promotion or a small one off fee I am sure we can come to some kind of arrangement.

Prices for all UK events will continue to be available from the Saturnia homepage .

Thank you for visiting and have a nice day.

06 May 22 - Saturnia Closing Down On 14/5

It's with great regret that we announce we are shutting our doors in eight days time. We have come to the realisation that there simply isn't much of a market for bookmakers and thus have decided the income is not worth the time investment necessary. We would like to thank all our customers for betting with us, and the best of luck to all of them in the future.
