18 year old creation KT tournament coming up! The first edition (maybe last?) of the KT cup will be looking to crown a 185 champion.

Tournament Summary:

  • 18 year old creations - created anytime onwards from August 6th

  • 185 minimum weight limit - fighters must weigh at least 185 (pre-cut), and also able to make the 185 weight limit

  • 1 months of training before tournament starts - September 2nd

  • Fighters will compete every 2 weeks - all fighters on the same card

  • 16 fighters entered. 2 groups of 8 fighters. Fighters will face off with everyone in their respective group 1 time, for a total of 7 fights

  • At the conclusion of the group stage the top 4 fighters with the most points (see points system below) will enter the knockout stage. The top 4 fighters from group A will face the top 4 of group B in a do-or-die knockout format. 1st from group A will face 4th place from group B, 2nd from group A faces 3rd from group B etc

  • Will also have a knockout phase for the bottom 4 fighters, to keep them interested, and they will fight it off against each other in the same style format as the top fighters

  • No clinching allowed in the group stage (please see post below for more details as to why) but will be allowed in the knockout phase! If anyone 'accidentally' forgets to set sliders and their fighter initiates a clinch, they will get a loss registered for that fight, and their opponent will get the W

  • Fight offers will be sent as early as possible, at least 12 days prior to the next event. Managers will need to have accepted the fight at the latest 4 days out from the fight. If the manager is not responding a reserve fighter will will their spot for the fight - and possibly for the tournament

Rules and Format:

18 year olds created after all spots are filled. Fighters must weigh a minimum of 185lbs, and not drop below that during the season (Can-cut-to weight can obviously be lower). And will obviously need to be able to make the 185 limit.

Looking for a minimum of 10 participantslets aim for around 16 but can be more as long as it's an even number. If we get more than 10, we will divide the fighters into 2 groups.

Once all spots are filled fighters will have 1 month of training time prior to tournament starting.

Wil be a round robin format with the top fighters (top 4 more than likely) of the group(s) qualifying for the knockout stage, where a winner will be crowned.

Events will be held every 2 weeks to allow enough rest between fights.

Points System:

Win = 2 points

Draw = 1 point

Loss = 0 points

In the event of fighters being tied after the group stage, the result of the head-head matchup will determine who goes through to the Knockout stage. If multiple fighters tied, win/loss records between those fighters will be used.  Most KO's will be used for tie-breakers if needed.

Prize Pool:

@Rocket has kindly offered to contribute T$2 million towards the kitty, any and all donations welcome and will only increase the prizes, but thus far looks like this :

Winner: T$ 1 million

2nd: T$ 500k

3rd: T$ 250k

4th: T$250k

Most K.O's: T$ 250k (will hand out multiple, amount determined by size of the kitty)

Fastest KO: T$ 250k

Will also reward the winner(s) of the group stage (T$ 500k is one group, T$ 250k if multiple groups)

And in honor of Mark Roland there will also be, a special Tycoon first, award of T$ 250k for the fighter with the most 100% fight ratings at the conclusion of the group stage.

And introducing Pando's Cup - The bottom 4 fighters from each group will enter their own knockout phase, and fight off to see who's the best of the cellar dwellers, for a chance to win T$ 250k

Also: Could use a trophy/cup !

If there is anything I've missed, or anything else you need to know, please comment below.

But barring that, lets get this thing filled!

(Please post your in-game manager name and ID)

I’ve had some feedback, from multiple managers, regarding clinching in the tourney. The concern people have is the issue of being able to ‘game’ the system by creating clinch lords, and turning the tourney into a clinch fest.

My first thoughts were that I want the tourney to be true to what KT is in game, and clinching is a part of it and should be allowed, but after some thought I agree that in a creation tourney, where we have limited training time, the most effective strategy to win would be to just build a clinch warrior - which wouldn’t really be true to KT (although clinching is definitely used, the best KT guys have a well rounded game).

So, to maximise our chance of getting some ‘normal/traditional’ KT builds (ones that could be utilised post tournament too)  I think the best thing to do is to ban the clinch during the group/round robin stage (likely 7-9 fights) and then allow/introduce clinch in the knockout/finals stage.

The thought process here is by outlawing clinch initially, we get people creating well rounded builds - not just clinch dawgs - but having it re-introduced at the later stage also incentivised managers to still include clinch skills in their builds.

How will it work?

We will all set our clinch sliders a certain way (go through that later) to prevent clinches.

If someone does accidentally or on purpose set clinch sliders incorrectly and the fight goes there, they will get a loss on the tournament points table - and the opponent will get an automatic win - regardless of the fight result. This will prevent anyone ‘accidentally’ forgetting to set sliders to gain an advantage.

Very easy to implement and manage during the group phase.

And once we enter knockout stage, clinch will be allowed.

I know it probably feels a bit mish mash but I’m confident we’ll get the results we want going down this route and also confident it will be quite easy to implement and manage.

If anyone who has signed up and doesn’t like the new format and want out of the tournament, no hard feelings - but hopefully it doesn’t get to that.

We’re still looking for more spots to be filled. Ideally we want 16 or 20 fighters - makes two groups of even number of fighters. If we don’t fill up the 16 (or 20) by the end of Monday 5th Aug, managers who are already signed up will be able to get an extra slot if they like. If still not filled we’ll just go with whatever even number we have - and then we can start creating !

Four spots (3 after i take 1) available for reserve fighters. These 4 will be able to fight on each KT cup event, if they choose to, against each other. They will be ready to step in if any of the tournament fighters pull out or don't respond.

If anyone is interested please post below, first in first serve!

1. Tosh Lodi

2.

3.

4.

I’ll take a reserve spot but if someone who is not in the tourney already is a reserve move them in front of mine.
