LEVEL MMA: Summit Series 2

Guys I apologize that I missed this but one of the managers of the Saleng v Wayne match didn’t accept. Running assumption is that @popart was the culprit due to a recent post in the forum. This is not a name and shame post at all, as my own personal responsibilities have taken priority of late - I accept the blame for not catching this sooner (or at all).

In any event, I’d like to welcome @BlueFalcon to the main show as we will be activating his eager alternate to participate in this vacated space for the remainder of the tournament!

I know this hasn’t received the attention it deserves from me of late. The lack of word-salad write ups, for one, will return as we near the end of October.

Nigel is ready to perform!

Also, he has won 3, lost 2. But the standing show him 1-4.

Update. Turns out for the alternate substitution to work correctly, you mist assume the outgoing fighters record. It is the only fair way to go about for all competitors, although I understand it may not seem that way from your perspective. If it’s any consolation, you are in no way out of the running as there is still a path to winning for you.

Ahh makes sense. No worries!

Garry Hobbs:

Finally I get an easy fight, I needed a break from taking on the best in the league. I wasn’t happy with my earlier losses, but you know what they say. “Live by the blade, die by the blade”. I have checked and only me and Jack Manion have had a finish in every fight we’ve had. Respect to him, I would love to face him one day. Sakamoto was an easy victory, once he let me into mount the submission was inevitable. Bring on my next challenge, I miss having a tough opponent!

Fight offers were sent out on Sunday and messages were sent on Tuesday to remind those with open offers that they need to accept. One manager reacted while the other still has not.

Manager Rui Darkholme and fighter Bruce Wayne have been cut from competition.
New offer sent out to Spagnolo and a message sent to an alternate fighter.

SUMMIT SERIES 2: GRAPPLING PHASE RECAP

Tokyo, Japan

As the lights go down at both Wild Bob’s and Paddy O’Malleys, we conclude the first leg of Summit Series 2.
The tournament, so far, has had some parallels to its predecessor; a veteran manager has abruptly left the scene, a shining grappling star is born, a solid group of veteran managers keep this circus going, and Alfred basically plays the Wizard of Oz behind the curtain.

We have also seen some differences this time out with some feisty young bucks jumping into the fray, a different format, and Jimmy keeping his mouth shut (it won’t last).

GRAPPLING CHAMPION

First off let’s congratulate Cesar Borge for his masterclass. John Pezao sent his fighter out to dismantle the competition. Borge captured 7 OTN awards in 8 fights, submitted the 2nd, 3rd and 4th place competitors, and submitted his opponent in 7 of 8 total fights. This was his route to an 8-0 record and the Grappling Crown. Impressive.

GRAPPLING RUNNERS UP

Andy Ettish has had a strong tournament thus far. With a 6-2 record, the Winterbottom standout won all of his fights by submission. His only losses come at the hands of the Champ Nd one other top 5 opponent. The next round will be pivotal for Ettish and while he looks to be somewhat well rounded, he also has the appearance of someone who masturbates with a belt around his neck. I’m excited to see what he can do with his hands, aren’t you?

Well look who we have here. It’s PJ Jones and his newest weapon Jack Manion. Jack loves him some marsupials, and Vegemite sandwiches so clearly there s something wrong with him. His taste in lovers and food may be suspect, but his taste for winning is high level. He’s put on quite the performance in his past 8 fights and only fell short against Borges and Ettish. He’s already sporting a heavily weighted skillset and it should be a little concerning when the reigning Summit Champ is around.

SUMMIT SERIES 2 - KT PHASE

Alright lads we’re off on a wee break. It was only meant to be 1 week, but here we are at 2 weeks off anyway. Next round starts on the 24th November and subsequent cards will be scheduled based off of the longest injury time - could be weekly, could be 16 days out. We’re going to try and get as many KT matches as possible.

@EEPUS do you think yourself a hen and that fight offer an egg?

Came here to say something less dignified. Message was sent with no reply and he hasn’t logged since Nov 30. @EEPUS is on the bubble. Unfortunately the 2 remaining alternates are already matched…meaning Chikorita would get an easy win. If he doesn’t show up for this he’s cut and Alfred will lightly besmirch his name for all to see.
