I'll try to remember to update this after every round. Alfred and I can see the skill estimates, so I think it's fair everyone else should.

Skill estimates all dead even though so far. Certainly no geniuses involved in this one!

Fresh off some other tournament success, I'm pleased to see the game has us as the clear #1 heading into this. I won't hear any counter arguments, because this is obviously proof.

Imagine being ranked in the 4400s!

    Or the 5200's even!

    What happened in Eubank/Garcia fight?

75 seconds of boxing and they BOTH leave the arena with 16-day injuries.

They'll both be carrying a 4-day injury in their next fight :(

  3. It's a great idea.

    1. Work out all the rules you want (look at other tourneys for guidance). Take your time to get it as tight as possible, and get feedback from established players if you can (I will take a look too).

    2. Rather than making it open to rookie/intermediate players, I would say it would be better to use manager ID as the qualification, 142000+ for example. Manager ID is more precise.

    3. Talk to Mike and ask him to make an announcement (the others are right, it will be necessary). Ask Mike to mention that (cash) donations from veteran players will be greatly appreciated.

    4. Write a new forum post announcing the tourney. List all the rules you prepared earlier. Ask for donations again. Ask for any other help you need (org, artwork, sponsors, etc).

    5. Keep updating the forum with any news. Keep the topic active!

    6. Make sure you get a good round number (8, 16, 24 for example).

    7. Get some reserve managers. No offence, but new managers are often less reliable and you are guaranteed to have some people let you down.

    8. Once it's running, give priority to staging events as promised. I mean that if real life gets in the way, and you are busy - Reviews, new event posters, etc, can wait. Just keep the tournament on schedule.

  4. Prize money.

Incredible. I've just checked and all of you have paid up your prize money contributions without even being asked. Good work guys!

    Winner-take-all prize is 2.5 $Million.

Everyone's accepted contracts too, except Thibbs, and most of you have accepted fights.

    Looking good!

The Welsh bastards rejoice at England being beaten in the semi finals, we prefer to beat them ourselves but if we don't we still massively enjoy it when someone else does, 3 cheers for Georgia.

As a few others said, I don't particularly care for it unless there's something pretty special about it, which I don't really see happening. (Plus we'd have to weed out and judge countless "sexy" avatar requests and such. Maybe if there we some women that played this game it would be more appealing and plausible. But I don't think so.

I think this is a really good argument against it. In the existing game there's some moron every week who makes a "Ben Dover", "Kunt Kicker" or something.

In a male fighter environment it doesn't attract attention and it's easy for Mike to ignore - Idiotic, but no harm done.

I think if we had female toons it would only get worse, and Mike would be forced to spend hours every week checking and censoring fighter names, because if he didn't, it would attract unwanted attention.

This game is like D&D in a way. Random elements, role play, knowledge of how it is played and it being text based. It survives off the community aspect..

    Sounds good, sign me up!

That being said the game is what you make of it.

    Thanks for joining in!

It would have been annoying to start the tourney with a fighter missing, so welcome.

It looks like you read the rules properly **just in time** to avoid entering an illegal fighter lol.

Chavez was a great fighter though.

  10. Email from Uncle Sam Milby (86656)..

" I regret to inform you that I won't be able to participate in the GOAT Middleweight event due to my ongoing busy work schedule, which will keep me inactive for the next 3-5 months. However, I am more than willing to contribute $100,000 towards the event prizes. Thank you for your understanding in this matter."

One drop out. One more player required!
