  1. SyFi 21 [Preview] March 9th, 2018 - The Underground in Sydney, Australia by Malikoy Muza 265+ lbs : Harald 'Viking' Knochmal [1 - 1] vs. 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan [4 - 2] Harald Knochmal returns to Sydney Fights for his third appearance, having gone one a piece in the organization. The Viking got laid out cold by a straight right courtesy of Jeff Messer, but is looking to return strong against 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan. Hogan is coming in from New Jersey MMA, where he gathered a 1 - 2 record. He is looking to make an impact in his SyFi debut, though Knochmal will be a worthy adversary. - Keys to Victory for Harald Knochmal: Have a high output on the feet, where his good boxing overshines that of Hollywood's. - Keys to Victory for Hulk Hogan: Come with the noted granite chin taking the shots to the face necessary to grab ahold of Knochmal and working a submission. - Prediction: Hulk Hogan by submission. 205 lbs : Mister 'The Clinch F---fest' McNasty [5 - 3] vs. Michael 'Mike' Wazowski [2 - 0] Both fighters are hot on the heels of a TKO victory and are looking to string that together into a winning streak. This one looks to be a clinching clinic, as Wazowski has laid out both his opponents with powerful knees. McNasty, however, prefers the use of the trusty left and right from the clinch. Stylistically they are built fairly similar, it'll be interesting to see which one can reign victorious. - Keys to Victory for Mister McNasty: Overpower Wazowski in the clinch and take the W by point fighting or TKO. - Keys to Victory for Michael Wazowski: Work the body to weaken the iron chin of McNasty. Perhaps shy away from clinching as his opponent is likely to have an advantage. - Prediction: Mister McNasty by decision. 265+ lbs : Ole 'The Rock' Anderson [2 - 0] vs. Classy 'Ink' Necktatoo [1 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Ole Anderson: By now it's quite clear what the Anderson brothers' tactic is when it comes to stepping inside the cage; takedown and a submission in the first round. This fight is no different, as Anderson looks to tag on Necktatoo's name to the list of victims, where Ivar The Boneless and Adam Hardy are already included. - Keys to Victory for Classy Necktatoo: Hope to catch Ole with something as he moves in. The old striker vs. grappler scenario looks daunting to say the least for Necktatoo. - Prediction: Ole Anderson by submission. 205 lbs : 'The Playboy' John Tucker [2 - 1] vs. Ricardo 'Ismail' Count Vacula [4 - 1] - Keys to Victory for John Tucker: Another grappler vs. striker match up, but this one could go either way, if Tucker can reach in deep to get a very early TKO. If not, he'll probably be on the losing side against Vacula. - Keys to Victory for Ricardo Vacula: Go for an instant takedown and keep the fight there at all costs. - Prediction: John Tucker by TKO. 265 lbs : Travis Dillon [3 - 0] vs. Peter Steel [0 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Travis Dillon: The only way Dillon is losing this one is if he can't work his own pace. His heavy handedness will make it hard for Steel to move in with his own offence. - Keys to Victory for Peter Steel: Hold Dillon in the clinch and work hard to keep him against the cage. - Prediction: Travis Dillon by knockout. 205 lbs : Joshua 'The Sauce' Syracuse [2 - 0] vs. Dukey Tots [4 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Joshua Syracuse: The primary question to ask is does Syracuse have good enough energy levels to strike for the win come fight time? He might need to look for that stellar gas tank trying to defend the wrestling and jiu jitsu game of Tots. - Keys to Victory for Dukey Tots: Take the battle to the mat, securing the finish with either ground and pound or a submission. - Prediction: Dukey Tots by TKO from ground and pound. 265+ lbs : Raymond Kim [1 - 0] vs. Voshon 'The Pain Train' Daniels [1 - 1] - Keys to Victory for Raymond Kim: Come in with urgency, working the wrestling angle to get to showcase that ground game. To try and stand with Daniels would be a costly mistake. - Keys to Victory for Voshon Daniels: The Pain Train is coming your way, all aboard! Next stop: KO City. - Prediction: Voshon Daniels by TKO. 205 lbs : Jaylon 'The Monster' Anderson [1 - 0] vs. Sheamus Meallan [1 - 0 - 1] - Keys to Victory for Jaylon Anderson: Don't get dragged into the kickboxing of Sheamus. Drag him to the canvas, where ground and pound point fighting will see him overtake the judges' scorecards. - Keys to Victory for Sheamus Meallan: Meallan is in it to scrap! As long as he can throw and throw often, he's in for a good chance. If 'The Monster' can make it dirty, which he will be looking to do, the outboxing attempts of Sheamus will prove less fruitful. - Prediction: Sheamus Meallan by decision. 205 lbs : Benjamin Bronckhorsten [1 - 0] vs. Corey 'Little Thunder' Smith Jr [1 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Bronckhorsten: This is going to be one for the ages, as two men that can take a punch will be looking to throw some at each other! The little we have been seeing about Bronckhorsten is that he likes to box, keeping on the outside. - Keys to Victory for Smith Jr: 'Little Thunder' finished his first and only opponent in 57 seconds doing exactly the same as his opponent. They are fairly well matched stylistically, though Smith should have the upperhand. - Prediction: Corey Smith Jr by decision. 155 lbs : Alex 'The Cobra' Coates [2 - 0] vs. Jake 'Wagga Wagga Reaper' Chimper [3 - 2] - Keys to Victory for Alex Coates: The last of the bunch of BJJ prowess tested against pure striking, Coates needs to utilize kicks and his Muay Thai in general to keep out of the range of Chimper. - Keys to Victory for Chimper: Despite his good jiu jitsu ability, Chimper has lost a couple fights by submission to better mat workers. There's no way Coates will be anywhere near that level. If his chin can hold up the Thaiboxing pedigree of Coates, Chimper will get a clean finish on the ground. - Prediction: Jake Chimper by submission.
  2. Since you are making the accusation, the burden of proof should fall on you.
  3. You're just making assumption after assumption without any evidence.
  4. SyFi 18 [Preview] March 2nd, 2018 - The Underground in Sydney, Australia (by Malikoy Muza) 170 lbs : Nick 'Nicky Boy' Power [2 - 0] vs. Blaine 'The Viper' Callaghan [3 - 1] Our Friday night main event pits the undefeated hometown favorite Nicky Power against the Irish grappler Blaine Callaghan. The Sydneysider has grabbed two victories in the local circuit, with a knockout and a decision a piece. Callaghan is coming over from Guerreiro Luta Liga, where he managed a 2 - 1 record, before arriving to Sydney Fights earlier this year in February. They'll both be looking to make an instant mark here in their SyFi debut. - Keys to Victory for Power: Keep it on the feet, where his boxing prowess will outshine his opponent. If the fight hits the ground, get up as soon as possible to avoid being caught in a submission. - Keys to Victory for Callaghan: Avoid the dirty fight of wrestling and clinch wars, since Power will be more likely to grind out a decision. On the canvas the Irishman should have a clear advantage, it's only a matter of manouvering his opponent there. - Prediction: Blaine Callaghan by submission. 205 lbs : Lars 'The Modern Viking' Hard [4 - 4] vs. Mikhail Mikhailov [1 - 0] Like the main event, these two are also making their Sydney Fights debut here tonight. The expectation is on an all-out stand up war, as Lars Hard has been making his name as a sprawl-'N-brawler thus far. Hard gathered a 3 - 1 record in local battles, before making a run in New Jersey MMA. After going without a win in three straight bouts, Hard changed managers and employment, and is looking to make a fresh start of it here in SyFi. Mikhail Mikhailov has only one pro fight in his record, a 21 second TKO in a London local fight. - Keys to Victory for Hard: His great cardio is the biggest separator. Hard should try to utilize it to the best of his ability. Also, his clinch game is a complete question mark, but he'd likely work better boxing on the inside. - Keys to Victory for Mikhailov: Go for an early finish, since the longer the clock runs, the smaller his chances. Use kicks to keep range and to gas 'The Modern Viking' out, by targeting the body. - Prediction: Mikhail Mikhailov by knockout. 170 lbs : Julius 'The Alpha' Wolf [2 - 2] vs. Rolen 'Fatty Ice' Bowles [3 - 1] Julius Wolf is coming in from the same promotion as Blaine Callaghan, where the two fought twice and both emerged victorious once. Like his nemesis, Wolf decided to join the ranks in Sydney and in his first test faces Rolen Bowles. Bowles took part in a Helsinki MMA tournament, losing in the finals after three rather impressive showings early on. - Keys to Victory for Wolf: Take the fight to the ground and go for submissions. Avoid gassing out going for the takedowns. - Keys to Victory for Bowles: Stand and bang all the way. Once the inevitable happens and Wolf gets the takedown, get up ASAP. - Prediction: Julius Wolf by submission. 135 lbs : My Gal [2 - 3] vs. George 'Achilles' Papadopoulos [1 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Gal: Outbox Papadopoulos whether on the outside or the clinch. If at any time Papa pulls guard, pound his face out with heavy hammerfists. - Keys to Victory for Papadopoulos: Ground My Gal, hang tight and don't let him escape. Either stall or try to catch a submission. Watch out for precarious reversals, GnP and submissions, as Gal will definitely have something in store for him. - Prediction: My Gal by decision. 155 lbs : Bigg 'Daddy' Sugg [1 - 2] vs. Che Huu Mo [1 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Sugg: Whatever you do, don't repeat the same mistake of taking down a superior jiu jitsu artist. - Keys to Victory for Mo: Any strategy should do, since Sugg seems to be outclassed in every area. - Prediction: Che Huu Mo by decision. 205 lbs : Kevin Durant [0 - 1] vs. Emil 'Kommisar' Derrick [1 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Durant: Durant packs a heavy punch and should be looking to throw that as much as possible. During his debut in SyFi 7 against Jengo Makumba, he was doing well on the outside and leading in points before getting finished with a TKO. - Keys to Victory for Derrick: Emil Derrick is an unknown at this point, having finished his first opponent in a stunning 18 seconds of the first round back in SyFi 3. Though he seems to be a capable slugger. - Prediction: Pick 'em, though Durant's punching power should give him the very slightest of advantages. 265 lbs : Alexander 'Hammer' Nielsen [1 - 1] vs. Taga 'Cold Piece' Lampshade [1 - 0] - Keys to Victory for Nielsen: In his first two showings, Nielsen has been very persistent with his clinching attempts, but in actuality has done horribly with that specific strategy. So horribly in fact, he should forget all about it here and instead go swinging with wild shots. - Keys to Victory for Lampshade: The good chin of Lampshade should allow him to eat shots while he rushes in with either a clinch or a takedown. If he can dodge Nielsen's knockout attempts, he should emerge victorious. - Prediction: Taga Lampshade by decision. 265+ lbs : Gandolf 'Magician' Schmidt [1 - 0] vs. Frank 'The Big Tank' Drillon [4 - 2 - 1] - Keys to Victory for Schmidt: Overwhelm 'The Big Tank' with punches and clean his clock. - Keys to Victory for Drillon: The complete lack of morale of Drillon means he's taking on an uphill battle the size of Mount Everest! - Prediction: Gandolf Schmidt either by a TKO or KO. 155 lbs : El Mas Loco [0 - 0] vs. Nazim Bardakci [3 - 1] - Keys to Victory for Loco: Be aggressive with the stand up game and keep on the outside. Forget all grappling, instead work in kicks with punches and hope Bardakci gets caught with something when he is moving in. As far as the old striker's chance goes, Loco has a good one at that here, but on the ground it'll most likely be good night Irene for him! - Keys to Victory for Bardakci: Employ the very same strategy he has been using in every single fight he has had: straight up search for a way to get a single or double leg and go from there. - Prediction: Nazim Bardakci by decision, though Loco has a fairly solid opportunity to go for a finish. 265+ lbs : Bwana Mkubwa [0 - 1] vs. Paulo 'Kanu' Magalhaes [0 - 1] - Keys to Victory for Mkubwa: Stuff takedowns and answer back throwing the lead hand. - Keys to Victory for Magalhaes: To make Mkubwa tap out is Magalhaes' only chance of victory, though he is going to have a hard time getting his opponent down. - Prediction: Bwana Mkubwa by TKO.
  5. I'm going to be doing the Friday event previews from now on, and speaking of which, SyFi 15 is right around the corner: -- SyFi 15 - Preview February 23rd, 2018 - The Underground in Sydney, Australia (by Malikoy Muza) For weeks, Sydney Fights has been filled with anticipation as every fighter has fought tooth and nail to gain leverage for the eventual title opportunity looming in the very near future. This Friday, a number of warriors from the lower weight classes will feel the thrill of the chase as they step inside the cage in an attempt to prove their worth for title contendership. I asked Sydney Fights owner Boble Lineman to shed a light on the current workings of the 135 lbs and 145 lbs divisions. '[Marcelo] Barbosa at 135 and [Hodi] Garbandit at 145 are set for the title fights, this weekend will bring them opponents', said Lineman. On the subject of other potential contenders, Mr. Lineman singled out Илья Муромец as well as Sung Ming at 145 lbs. From the 135 lbs division, he has high hopes for Glass Joe, Paulo Lopez and apparently a soft spot for Kyoji Kubota, who he says 'had an impressive debut, let's see how he does one week later'. I asked Lineman how he thought the Bantamweight and Featherweight divisions differ from the other weight classes within Sydney Fights. '135 and 145 take a long time to develop', said Lineman. 'That's the reason, that those are the only weight classes not having set a title fight.' Perhaps after SyFi 15 the title picture will gain more clarity. On to the bouts! 155 lbs : Mirko 'Cro Cop' Filipovic [1 - 0] vs. Keon 'Stun Grenade' Fazeli [4 - 0] Our main event of the evening pits together the Croatian Mirko Filipovic and the Afghani Keon Fazeli. 'Cro Cop' is coming off a first round TKO victory in SyFi 5, where he pounced on an unwitting Josh Alli with relentless striking and forced the referee to step in. During the same night, Fazeli brought home a hard fought decision victory over Nazim Bardakci in a three round grapple fest. It's clear that Filipovic is going to want none of that when Sydney Fights returns to The Underground on the 23rd. - Keys to victory for Filipovic: Keep the fight standing. Mix in kicks with the heavy hands. Stuff Fazeli's takedown attempts. - Keys to victory for Fazeli: Take the fight to the ground as soon as possible. Look for submissions. Outwrestle Filipovic. - Prediction: Decision victory for Fazeli, even though he'll eagerly go for submissions on the ground. 145 lbs : Carlos Sousa [2 - 0] vs. Silvio Dante [1 - 1] The Portuguese Sousa notched a win on his Sydney Fights debut in SyFi 5, where he won on the judges' scorecards against Half Life. The two were awarded the Fight Of The Night bonus for their efforts in a bout that saw Carlos Sousa dominate the grappling exchanges. Silvio Dante is making his promotional debut here, though he is one a piece in org competition and coming off a first round loss by referee stoppage. - Keys to victory for Sousa: Avoid stand up at all costs. Rush for takedowns. Force Dante to tap to a submission. - Keys to victory for Dante: Outwork Sousa by making the fight as dirty as possible. Control positioning with striking, clinching and wrestling. Aggressively pepper Sousa with punches without getting caught in a takedown. - Prediction: Likely to finish, hard to say who will edge out the winner. Carlos Sousa is better on the ground, but severly outclassed on the feet. I'll go for Silvio Dante by TKO, if he can be the superior grappler. 135 lbs : Antonio 'Demo' Boco [1 - 0] vs. Paulo 'Matador' Lopes [2 - 0] - Keys to victory for Boco: He'd likely be best left standing and banging, but something tells me he's not going to do that. Instead, he'll try and work a submission. It's crucial Boco avoids all wrestling. - Keys to victory for Lopes: Don't sleep on the ground with the BJJ brown belt Boco. Clinch all day, only take the fight to the ground if there's a ground and pound victory there. - Prediction: Submission victory for Antonio Boco, because Lopes might make the mistake of taking the action to the mat. 145 lbs : Илья Муромец [4 - 0] vs. Michael 'Wild Child' Canavan [0 - 0] - Keys to victory for Муромец: Actively go for the finish, whether standing, clinching or grappling. - Keys to victory for Canavan: Slow the fight down by any means necessary. Use clinching to negate offence. Pray to a higher being, as it'll be a rough debut for the Irish 'Wild Child'! - Prediction: Илья Муромец by TKO, possibly in the first round. 145 lbs : Mateusz 'The Wizzard' Biernat [0 - 2] vs. Stan 'Butcher' Booth [0 - 1] - Keys to victory for Biernat: Avoid standing with Booth. Instead, actively seek a takedown and finish the fight on the ground. - Keys to victory for Booth: Stay on the outside hoping Biernat doesn't come shooting in, which he will. - Prediction: Mateusz Biernat by TKO. 145 lbs : Joao 'Fininho' Freitas [0 - 0] vs. 'El Castigador De Juárez' DeMario Valdez [0 - 0] - Keys to victory for Freitas: Forget striking with Valdez and go for a takedown early. Once there, lock in a submission. - Keys to victory for Valdez: Use boxing and footwork to keep Freitas at bay. Be prepared to sprawl A LOT! - Prediction: Joao Freitas by submission. 155 lbs : JP 'The Smoker' CooL [1 - 0] vs. Ethan Dalrymple [1 - 0] - Keys to victory for CooL: He has superb mat work and should try to utilize it to his best ability here. Any attempts to go to the pocket would be foolish. - Keys to victory for Dalrymple: Don't go testing swords with CooL on the ground. Stuff the takedowns and answer with counter striking. Dalrymple is likely to be the better fighter in the clinch, which leaves open the possibility of working inside boxing from the clinch. - Prediction: Ethan Dalrymple by decision. 135 lbs : Dani Yadin [0 - 1] vs. 'The Avenging Angel' DeJuan Carneiro [0 - 0] - Keys to victory for Yadin: Use kicks to control range with quick punches should Carneiro move in. Avoid the clinch, avoid the ground. - Keys to victory for Carneiro: Shoot in right away with vigilance, since Yadin has a variety of kicks in his arsenal. Force the issue with submissions for the finish. - Prediction: DeJuan Carneiro by submission. 265 lbs : Canelo Lopez [0 - 0] vs. Karl Anthony Towns [1 - 0] - Keys to victory for Lopez: Conditioning, as Towns had a high output in his debut win by decision over Markus Hambucher. Lopez's best bet would be to catch Towns and not let go. - Keys to victory for Towns: Have patience and outwork Lopez in the stand up. If Towns can do his thing here, he should do well. - Prediction: Karl Anthony Towns by a clear decision. 135 lbs : Brandon Shumaker [0 - 1] v Joh 'The Ice Ax' Fabnik [4 - 1] - Keys to victory for Shumaker: If that BJJ blue belt is only for defence, go for a freak knock out. If not, takedown Fabnik and make him tap. - Keys to victory for Fabnik: Fabnik is quickly gaining a reputation as somewhat of a clinch specialist and many are expecting him to do exactly that against Shumaker. The only way I see Fabnik getting caught is in a submission, like he did to Brain Fog's rear naked choke in SyFi 5. - Prediction: Joh Fabnik by TKO.
  6. Gotta go grab some more gear then before it's all out!
  7. Oh okay, that's cool. Thanks for the exception then! I'll be putting in some bets shortly
  8. Are you going to offer odds for SyFi 14 as well?
  9. Indeed, much better than facepalm worthy <insert curse words and nonsense here>. Unfortunately, even though Hippo wins the smacktalk by a landslide, he'll probably get slayed come fight time!
  10. Alright, I updated the sparring schedule to be strictly in the AM.
  11. We welcome all new fighters! Once we get some more fighters in through the doors we'll definitely be looking into adding supplements to the vending machines
