  1. - Checkmate Championship 15 Spotlight Review - Checkmate Contenders 15 was filled with some great bouts! For this write-up, we will be taking a closer look at how the Main/Co-Main event fights went! - Co-Main Event - (185 Title) - #1 Manco Unknown (9-2)(5-1 in CC) (FC²)(P4P #7) DEF © Bhishma Chontamenti (6-2)(5-0 in CC)(P4P #6) How: Decision (Unanimous) When: Record Update: Unkown improves to (10-2). Chontamenti falls to (6-3). Ranking Change: Unknown becomes the Middleweight Champion and #6 P4P. Chontamenti becomes the #1 Ranked Contender and #7 P4P. Fight Review: For our Co-Main event we had a trilogy fight that everybody had their eyes on and for a good reason because it was a great matchup! Round One: In the first round we saw some nice exchanges, Chontamenti was getting the best of the early trades but then got cut early in the round and then Unknown started to take the round over. Chontamenti was able to secure a last minute takedown but Unknown immediately started throwing up submissions and got a nice reversal to end the round. Round Two: Bell rings and Chontamenti opens the round with a nice body shot, then Unknown got back to work with his own striking, that was until Chontamenti was able to drive through and land a very nice takedown and started getting to work on some submission attempts, he first went after an arm triangle that looked really tight but Chontamenti let it go, he then went after an armbar that was set up really nice and some thought could be the end of the fight but Unknown rolled out of it and ended up in Chontamenti's guard, which Chontamenti was then able to get a sweep, then Unknown was able to recover guard and started firing off some tight submissions of his own. Round Three: Both men try landing jabs to start this round off, this round was similar to the first with both men landing and with Unknown getting most of the cleaner shots in, then at the end of the round Chontamenti was able to get Unknown to the mats where Unknown then started threatening submissions. Round Four: This round was all striking, both men got some licks in but it was clear Unknown was getting the best of the exchanges, meaning Chontamenti needed a finish in the 5th round of this trilogy! Round Five: 5th and final round, Chontamenti knows he is down by at least 3 rounds and needs a finish, Unknown knows he just needs to survive, but still wants a finish himself! Early into the round Chontamenti gets a takedown and then both men continued the round going for submission after submission but neither got anything tight enough to finish the fight and this one went to the judges' scorecards which read 48:47 and 49:46x2 in favor of Manco Unknown who got his title back in a battle! *Fight Of The Night - Main Event - (265 Title) - © Jax Chambers (8-1)(5-0) (P4P #3) DEF #2 Anton Gardner (8-3)(3-1 in CC) (FC) How : TKO (Strikes) When : RD#2 Record Update : Chambers improves to (9-1). Gardner falls to (8-4). Ranking Change: Chambers remains the Heavyweight Champion. Gardner remains the #2 Ranked Contender. Fight Review: In our Main-Event, we saw dominant Champ Jax Chambers take out a former Checkmate Champion in Anton Gardner for his first title defense! Round One: Bell rings and Gardner comes out the gate swinging and Chambers got out of the way and countered nicely. Around 1 minute in Chambers cut Gardner. Both men exchanged some nice strikes, some say Gardner was ahead after the first round. Round Two: Second round starts and Chambers gets Gardner pinned in a corner and starts unloading, Gardner was able to get out of the corner though and started to try to return the offense, but he was looking a little sloppy with his attempts until he leaped at Chambers and landed a series of punches that had Chambers stunned for a moment. Then later in the round, Gardner tried to land to Chamber's body but Chambers was able to get out of the way and land a huge counter punch that sent Gardner to the canvas, and Chambers did not let Gardner recover from this one and was able to get the TKO victory, but it didn't come without a few bruises! We also got to see (205) - #7 Willy Mataitai DEF #6 Gabriel Creed (145) - Sammie Conner DEF #6 Yair Rodriguez (170) - #6 Alec Wolfe DEF #7 Ivan Jomoney (205) - Bobby Bryant DEF Alen Zalac (145) - Pull Plugger DEF Ieuan Thomas (170) - #9 Pedro Vela DEF Blackout Mane (145) - Leon Johnson DEF Abunazir Kindzal
  2. I would definitely tune in to listen to that!!
  3. That was awesome!! I thoroughly enjoyed reading it from start to finish, love to see it!
  4. - Checkmate Championship 15 Poster -
  5. I agree, him and his manager are beasts, but so are you and Alex! I feel like it is gonna be a heck of a fight for sure for both of you!
  6. - Checkmate Championship 14 Preview - This card has a lot of Former Champions, Tournament Winners and Highly Ranked Contenders! A huge card filled with awesome fighters! Now onto the Preview... Kicking off the card will be #4 Kotaro Kikuta (2-3)(2-2 in CC) vs #5 Ryan The Son Of God (7-6)(0-1 in CC) Two of the top 5 middleweights that are both looking to pick up a big win to start climbing their way to the top of the very open 185 division! In the second bout on the card, we will get to see Maris "Rukis" Lakis (3-5)(1-3 in CC) vs Earnie Shavers (3-3)(2-3 in CC) A heavyweight bout between two men looking to start making big moves in the 265 weight class! Next up will be a welterweight bout between #6 Darry Curtis (3-1)(2-1 in CC) and "Joltin" Joe Johnson (4-1)(0-1 in CC) Both men are coming off their first pro MMA losses and want to bounce back with a big statement win! Next, we will get to see a high-level featherweight bout when we see #3 Donald "Flathead" Fisher (7-4)(3-3 in CC) vs Anderson "Senna" Beach Boy (5-4)(3-2 in CC) Fisher has taken out some of the very best in the division including Ieuan Thomas, Siete DiMaio, Charles Manson, and Carlos Villarreal, and will look to add another big name to his resume in this bout. Anderson Beach Boy has also faced and taken out some great competition but now he is looking to take out a ranked opponent and get into the contender mix of 145 division! Up next is a battle of the OGs when we see #2 Orvar Odd Lodinkinni (6-3)(6-3 in CC) vs #6 Clinch King "Razor" Smash Machine (6-3)(6-3 in CC) Lodinkinni has won 4 out of his last 6 fights and will be looking to get another big win against the man that was atop the division for a while before there was even a champion of the division. Machine like I said above was the uncrowned king of the 205 division in the early days of Checkmate, with his devastating clinch game he dominated the division for a while. He is currently on a 2 fight win streak is looking to start working his way back to the very top of the division! Both men are Checkmate veterans who have surprisingly never faced each other, but of course, that will all change on this card and I am very excited to see how it plays out! Now we will get to see #1 (#9 P4P) Tyson Law "Enforcer" (7-2)(4-1 in CC)(FC) vs #4 Ispa Perkele (8-3)(4-3 in CC) in a highly anticipated bout you don't wanna take your eyes off of! Law has won 4 out of his last 5 bouts and has beaten some very tough competition in First Officer Chakotay, Jake Mount, and Juan Christiano. Law is a grappler based fighter with remarkable wrestling and a black belt in BJJ, alongside his 6 submission victories he is an amazing grappler that you do not wanna be on the canvas with! Perkele has been a staple in Checkmate's 170 division ever since the division has had a champion, and even before that! Perkele is the only fighter to have participated in two of Checkmate's special tournaments. Perkele is more of a striking specialist with his remarkable boxing and superb Muay Thai skills, alongside his 8 TKO/KO wins. This matchup could very well be a classic Striker x Grappler matchup! Next up the Welterweight belt will be up for grabs when ©(#5 P4P) Logan Barrengarry (7-1)(6-0 in CC) looks to defend aginst #2 Joad Cressbeckler (7-1)(3-1 in CC)(FC) This fight is gonna be a clash of two titans who are two of the very best in the welterweight division and are definitely the two best dressed! Barrengarry is looking to become the first Checkmate welterweight champion to get a successful defense under him. He is a perfect 6-0 inside Checkmate and 7-1 overall in MMA, he can take and win the fight in any aspect but tends to like to stand and trade and get the TKO/KO. Barrengary is the winner of Checkmate's "Knight Battle" tournament where he took out the likes of Patrick O'Malley, Ispa Perkele, and Potemkin Izmaylov who was a perfect 4-0 at the time. Barrengarry won the belt in his last outing against Tyson Law where he was able to secure a KO victory in the 3rd to become the new Checkmate 170 champion. By the looks of his performances and the names he has beaten Logan could very well go on to be one of the best champions inside of Checkmate, but before he can even start thinking about that dream he must first take out the former and first-ever 170 Checkmate champ Joad Cressbeckler. Across the cage from him will be Joad Cressbeckler who has also taken out some of the very best, like his opponent he is also 7-1 and has also won a Checkmate tournament series with Joad winning the "Hunting Gold" tournament, he shares a win over Ispa Perkele and also shares a loss to Juan Christiano. Cressbeckler is coming off a big win over Exeudo Oni in which he got a KO win in just 5 seconds, snapping Oni's 4/5 win streak. Cressbeckler is more of an "Old Fashion" type of guy and fighter, he is not one to mess around with unless u can handle the serious consequences. Up next will be a HUGE superfight for Checkmate Championship and the very first ever Champ vs Champ bout between ©(#4 P4P) Emiliano Blackburn (8-2)(5-1 in CC) and (C⁵-LW)(#1 P4P) Chief "Crazy" Aztec (13-0)(11-0 in CC) for the Featherweight Title! Blackburn is fresh off his electrifying win over the former 145 champ Magnificent Chulalongkorn who many would say was a huge upset, Chulalongkorn had looked very dominant in his title bouts and was on track to start chasing Aztecs record for most title defenses, however, Blackburn had other plans and was able to walk away with a 49-46 judges decision victory, but it was a great fight and one I would love to see ran back in the future! Blackburn was apart of the first-ever 145 title fight against Rikuto Ryuunosuke, Blackburn accomplished this by making it to the finals of Checkmate's "To The Throne" tournament. Blackburn lost in his first meeting to Rikuto due to a guillotine choke in the third round of that title fight, but after picking up two back to back wins he got a rematch with Rikuto, and this time he was able to finish Rikuto in the second round by way of TKO. Blackburn has wins over some of the very best of the 145 division against the likes of Charles Manson (Current #4 contender), Donald Fisher (Current #3 contender), Anderson Beach Boy (was 2-0 in Checkmate at the time), Rikuto Ryuunosuke (Current #5 contender and former champion) and of course Magnificent Chulalongkorn (Current #1 contender and former champion) Blackburn has quietly taken out 4/5 of the top contenders in his division and it time people really start to know his name, he has won 8 out of his last 9 fights and the one loss in between those he has redeemed so we are looking at a fighter that is at an all-time high mentally and physically which is exactly what he is gonna need to be for this fight! Blackburn is coming off the biggest win and upset of his career and now will be looking to do that once again and do what many have tried and failed, and that is to defeat the man that is Chief Aztec. Well oh well, now onto his opponent, the only inaugural Checkmate champion to still have his belt, the only champion to have defended his belt 5 times, winner of Checkmate's "The Crowning" 155 bracket, the man with the most wins inside Checkmate, the man with the most KO/TKO victories inside Checkmate, the #1 P4P greatest fighter inside of Checkmate, the man with 6 performance of the night bonuses, the man that has been unstoppable for 13 fights in a row, taking out the very top of his division and is now going down a weight class to try to take over yet another division. Who might that man be? Well if you guessed anyone else than Chief "Crazy" Aztec then I don't know what you have been drinking but it might be the same stuff that is inside Aztec's bloodstream that has made him such a monster inside the cage. Aztec has taken out the whos of whos in the 155 division and has done it dominantly, he has only ever lost 1 round in his 15 rounds of fighting. Aztec made his Checkmate debut back at Checkmate Fight Night 2 where he took on a fellow undefeated fighter at the time Craig Jordan, they were both 2-0 in MMA, but Aztec was the one that left with his perfect record intact, and speaking of taking fighters from the ranks of unbeaten, let's get a little list, shall we? Aztec gave Craig Jordan his first loss (2-0 at the time), Manny Rodriguez Lopez Cortez his first loss (1-0 at the time), Carlos Villarreal his first loss (2-0 at the time) Simon Busch his first loss (4-0 at the time), Yut Han his first loss (4-0 at the time), Paulo Correia his first loss (5-0 at the time) and most recently in his toughest fight to date he gave Greg Connor his first loss (4-0 at the time). Although taking an 0 isn't something Aztec can fight for this time there are some big things to look at in this fight, if Aztec wins he becomes the first champion in Checkmate history to hold two belts in different weight classes, he also will extend 3 of the records that he already owns, and of course, he would retain his #1 P4P ranking, the question is, is all of this success weighing on Aztec and making each fight that much harder? Or does he thrive with the idea of knowing how much is on the line?! Something also worth noting is that Blackburn is gonna have the most fights and wins than any of Aztec's other opponents, with 10 fights and 8 wins he has double the experience than anyone Aztec has faced in the past, can Blackburn use that experience along with his al time high confidence to give Aztec his first loss? Or will Aztec come out on top once again and increase his already unbelievable legacy? Up next will be a key fight in the heavyweight division when two former champions face off when we see #1 contender and #10 P4P fighter Bubba Wallace (11-1)(3-1 in CC)(FC¹) take on Checkmate's first-ever 265 champ #3 ranked Jon Nolan (11-2)(9-2 in CC)(FC¹) Wallace is coming into this fight with a few chips on his shoulder, in his last fight he suffered his first-ever loss in his pro MMA career along with losing his Checkmate heavyweight title, he then was also dropped by his former manager and was sent into Free Agency, however, now he is still in great hands as Django Waits agreed to become his new manager but a big question is how will their chemistry be in his first fight back in the cage? but enough of those what-ifs, let's get to the things he has managed to accomplish in his career. He is the winner of the AWC season 1 tournament for his division, finishing all of his opponents within the first 2 rounds. After winning the tournament Checkmate was fortunate to have signed him to the 265 roster, increasing the number of absolute beasts in the 265 division. Wallace made his debut the very night Nolan lost his belt back at Checkmate Championship 3, he then turned around and faced the man that defeated Nolan for the belt and came out with a KO victory in just 9 seconds, he went on to successfully defend his belt once and become just the second heavyweight champ to do so, who was the first you might ask? Oh, just the man that will be standing across from him. Wallace was regarded as one of the most skillful and feared champions across Checkmate's division and even earning the #2 P4P ranking during his reign. Nolan also knows what it feels like to be regarded highly, as he was the inaugural Checkmate heavyweight champion and the winner of Checkmate's "The Crowning" tournament which was held to crown the first two ever Checkmate champions and Nolan was one of those. He faced some tough fighters in that bracket and was able to best them all, he was the first man to defeat Test Run, ruining Run's perfect 7-0 record and he also defeated top contender Brian Snow. Nolan headlined Checkmate Championship 1 for his first title defense against the then-undefeated Crusty Bigg, who is still a big contender in the division, Nolan was able to get him out of there just within 2 minutes of the first round. Nolan then went on to go on a 2 fight skid losing to Anton Gardner and current champ Jax Chambers but then broke that skid in a rematch against Brian Snow which earned him a KO of the Night bonus back in September, then in October he faced top contender Agustin Cauchy who was coming off two big back to back wins, Nolan managed to get the KO stoppage late in the second round, which was the longest Nolan has ever been inside the cage. Now Nolan is itching for another title shot to get back what was once was his and with a big win over Wallace that would definitely put him back in contention. Both men are very evenly matched all the way around with records, skills, managers ect, so this one might very well come down to just who wants it more!

Fight Review: Pawlik tried for a takedown at the start of the round and Kane countered with a crisp one-two that dropped Pawlik, he then allowed Pawlik to get back to his feet then immediately got rocked after. Pawlik clearly dazed shot in for another takedown attempt and paid a big price for it, he got put out cold! - Fight #2 - (205) - Onterrio Smith (0-0) DEF Tarmo Rajantaka (4-3)(1-2 in CC) How: KO (Head Kick) When: RD#1 (0:28) Record Update: Smith improves to (1-0). Rajantaka falls to (4-4). Ranking Change: Smith becomes #10 Contender. Rajantaka Remains Unranked. Fight Review: A short and sweet victory for Smith, but it didn't come without some scars, he got cut pretty early in the round but after that, it was all Smith, he knocked Rajantaka down and rocked him badly and managed to cut him before ultimately landing a beautiful head kick that resulted in a nasty KO win for Smith! - Fight #3 - (155) - Manco Capac (3-3)(1-2 in CC) DEF #5 Carlos Rogan (4-4)(3-4 in CC) How: KO (Punch) When: RD#1 (0:48) Record Update: Capac improves to (4-3). Capac was landing some crisps shots before landing a nice right hand that sat Rogan down, and shortly after he landed a massive hook that shut Rogan's lights out! - Fight #4 - (265) - Deontay DJ (3-5)(2-3 in CC) DEF Admir Bosnic (7-6)(1-2 in CC) How: KO (Head Kick) When: RD#1 (1:45) Record Update: DJ improves to (4-5). Bosnic falls to (7-7). Ranking Change: Both Fighters Remain Unranked. Fight Review: Both men were in a bit of a feeling-out process to start with but then DJ started was able to land a big combo that knocked Bosnic down! DJ stepped back wanting Bosnic on his feet, he then followed up with a big head kick once Bosnic got on his feet and that earned him a big KO win! - Fight #5 - (265) - Olusola Oni (6-6)(5-4 in CC) DEF Jingky Bacolod (5-4)(1-4 in CC) How: KO (Punch) When: RD#2 (3:35) Record Update: Oni improves to (7-6). Bacolod falls to (5-5). Ranking Change: Both Fighters Remain Unranked. Fight Review: Round One: The early minutes of the first round was mostly contested on the canvas with Bacolod pulling guard into a nice sweep start the grappling exchanges, Oni was then able to get a nice reversal into Bacolod's guard where Bacolod tried for a guillotine but Oni was able to defend easily. Both fighters were stalling towards the middle of the round which caused a referee standup, then both fighters started landing some strikes trading back and forth, then Oni landed a nice strike that cut Bacolod open then both men were having trouble landing in the last minute of the first round. Second Round: was similar to the ending of the first round with both fighters missing shots, then around the 2-minute mark Bacolod decided to take the fight into the clinch and tried to score a takedown but Oni was able to defend and get out of the clinch and then BOOM Oni landed a huge uppercut that sent Bacolod to the canvas, Oni let him get back to his feet, just so he could land left hook to finish the job and take out the highly respected former Conquest champion. - Fight #6 - (145) - Kevin Walters (5-4)(0-0 in CC) DEF #8 Crotch Chewer (2-1)(2-0 in CC) How: Submission (Armbar) When: RD#1 (4:21) Record Update: Walters improves to (6-4). Chewer falls to (2-2). Ranking Change: Walters becomes #8 Contender. Chewer Becomes #10 Contender. Fight Review: Bell rings and immediately it is clear Walters wants to secure a takedown but Chewer was doing a good job at stopping them, until he got caught on his heels and Walters was able to get him down to the mat, where he threatened multiple submission attempts but nothing tight enough to get a tap, until he was able to land some heavy ground and pound and rock Chewer, then he went after an armbar and was able to pull it off and got him his 4th career submission victory! - Fight #7 - (155) - #1 Greg Connor (4-1)(4-1 in CC) DEF #2 Paulo Correia (6-1)(3-1 in CC) How: Decision (Unanimous) When: Record Update: Conner improves to (5-1). Correia falls to (6-2). Ranking Change: Both fighters retain their rankings. Fight Review: This bout was an incredible clash between two of the very best lightweights! Round One: Bell rings and Correia cuts Conner with his first punch, he then landed another big blow that clearly rocked Conner but then Correia decided to clinch which gave Conner some time to recover. Then both men exchanged some strikes inside the clinch with Conner getting the best of them and that is pretty much how the first round went. Round Two: This time around Conner is the one that initiates the clinch and starts to land some shots like the previous round, Correia was able to block some and land some offense of his own but ultimately he got sick of it and decided to pull guard and look for a sweep, he didn't get the sweep but he did manage to get a triangle attempt but nothing doing. Correia kept an active guard game before the round ended. Round Three: With one round a piece this round would be the decider! Bell rings and they both come out swinging, both trying to land some combos, Correia was able to nice a stunning left-right combo that sent Conner tumbling to the canvas, but Correia decided to let him back up on his feet. Conner landed a nice strike and shouted "You're gunna get knocked out" to Correia, but to be honest I think he was still a little rocked from moments before, he then decided to clinch up with Correia where he clearly had an advantage and he continued to land some shots inside the clinch. Around the 4 minute mark, Correia was starting to land with more conviction knowing he was probably down this round and he landed a decent hook that really opened up Conner's cut even more! It seemed like Correia might've been getting the best of Conner at the end of the round but in the end, Conner's clinch work in that round gave him the nod on the scorecards! *Fight Of The Night - Fight #8 - (205) - #3 Choctaw Bloode (5-2)(2-2 in CC) DEF #6 Bjorn Akerfeldt (3-1)(2-1 in CC) How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#2 (1:59) Record Update: Bloode improves to (6-2). Akerfeldt falls to (3-2). Ranking Change: Bloode remains the #3 contender. Bjorn signed with another Org. Fight Review: Round One: Bloode landed some good strikes early on but Akerfeldt was able to get him to the ground but Bloode was fighting back and was able to land a nice reversal which must've made Akerfeldt mad because he started going for submissions like a madman! Nothing was close to a finish but he was persistent nonetheless. Round Two: Bloode defended some takedowns early and was getting off some nice shots, then Bloode was able to land a huge head kick that sent Akerfeldt to the canvas then Bloode jumped on him and got some more blows in before the ref could pull him off for the TKO victory! - Co-Main Event - (265) - #5 Crusty Bigg (7-2)(4-2 in CC) DEF #9 Joey Hernandez (6-4)(3-2 in CC) How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#1 (1:15) Record Update: Bigg improves to (8-2). Hernandez falls to (6-5). Ranking Change: Both fighters retain their rankings. Fight Review: Bigg was able to cut Hernandez early in the fight and it was clear he had the striking advantage so Hernandez smartly took Bigg down, however, Bigg was able to escape and get this fight back on the feet where he showcases his world-class striking game, landing one after the other, until he was able to land a big right hand that turned Hernandez's legs to rubber and he followed it up to get the TKO stoppage early in the first and really start to put his name back in title contention! *KO/TKO Of The Night - Main Event - (145) - #4 Charles Manson (7-3)(3-2 in CC) DEF #5 Rikuto Ryuunosuke (7-2)(4-2 in CC) How: Submission (RNC) When: RD#1 (1:15) Record Update: Manson improves to (8-3). Ryuunosuke falls to (7-3). Ranking Change: Both fighters retain their rankings. Fight Review: Round starts and Manson cuts Ryuunosuke, I don't know what was up with fighters getting cut so early on this card, don't they know Halloween was on the last event, not this one!? A bloody mess. Nonetheless back to the fight. Ryuunosuke managed to get this fight into the clinch where neither fighter did much, Ryuunosuke tried pulling guard but fell right on his back and slowly got back to his feet, he then got into the clinch once again and this time pulled guard successfully and started hunting submissions but nothing put Manson in danger. Ryuunosuke was looking for a sweep when Manson was able to pass his guard straight into mount! He then decided to try for some of his own submissions including an old fashion forearm choke but like the game said quote "This isn't 1993 though, so Ryuunosuke shrugs it off". Ryuunosuke tried to get out from under Manson's mount but gave up his back whilst trying to do so! Manson then was going for the RNC which Ryuunosuke defended... the first time, however on Manson's second attempt Manson had sunk the choke in too tight for an escape and it put the former Checkmate champ Ryuunosuke to sleep! *Submission Of The Night
  9. - Checkmate Announcement Released! - The newly crowned 145 champ Emiliano Blackburn is set to make his first title defense against the #1 ranked P4P fighter in Checkmate, the 155 champion Chief Aztec, at Checkmate Championship 14! Blackburn shocked the world when he defeated long-reigning champ Magnificent Chulalongkorn to claim his spot atop the division and rise to #4 P4P and he will look to do that once again against the very best! Aztec will be moving down to 145 to look to become a two divisional Checkmate champ, this drop in weight is not permanent though as he is still the 155 champ and plans to move back and forth between the two divisions!
  10. - Checkmate Contenders 7 Poster Released! -
  11. Congrats on the return and the KOTN bonus! Looking forward to the next one!
  12. It looked like it was 1-1 going into that third and Steel did a great job to keep it out of the judges' hands! A great finish against a talented undefeated fighter, excited to see him continue to grow and climb the rankings! I will make sure to do it that way next time, thank you!
  13. - Checkmate Championship 13 Preview - http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1604098727ezgif-7-3f49f3d462af.gif Checkmate Championship 13 will be an extra spooky event as it will be on Halloween! We have got 20 talented fighters just waiting to get their hands on someone, I think there's something about it being on Halloween that has made the fighters extra aggressive in the lead up to this event, I am currently in an undisclosed location while writing this for my safety from these monsters, hopefully, they get back to normal after this event! One look at any of the men and you will be shaking in your boots, but nonetheless make sure you tune into this event filled with madmen with some extraterrestrial talent, it will be a SHOCKING one! Hey if they don't calm down that might be a good idea, maybe we should make the cage electric *Note to self: ask stage men if an electric cage is possible. In our main event slot, we will get to witness a rematch almost a whole year in the making when (C²) (#4 P4P) Manco "The Good" Unknown (9-1)(5-0 in CC) takes on the #1 ranked contender Bhishma Chontamenti (5-2)(4-0 in CC) in a hauntingly good matchup for Checkmate's Middleweight Championship! Unkown has taken out the whos of whos inside Checkmate's middleweight division, including the likes of First Name, twice, Edward Folayang, Roku Takenaka, he earned the belt by defeating the inaugural champ One Wonder and is just the second middleweight champ in Checkmate, he has also defended his belt twice, once in a rematch with Name and his second against the formerly undefeated Mitch Malone, who we will also get to see in a high stakes bout on this card! Back to Unkown, he was also the first Conquest 185 champ, he lost his belt to Ispa Murska (Who will be facing Malone on this card) before the merge with Checkmate and Conquest. Unknown made his Checkmate debut back in May of this year and has looked pretty flawless in all of his bouts since, getting a stoppage in all of his bouts as well as only going to the second round once, yes, once. With his well-rounded skill set, he can finish the fight where ever it goes and his record shows that with 4 (T)KO win and 5 submission wins it makes him a threat to anywhere his opponents try to take him, and these are some of the reasons why he is the champion and the #4 ranked pound for pound fighter in Checkmate. Across from him will be the challenger who is out for revenge in Bhishma Chontamenti. Chontamenti had a clash with the current champ Unkown in what was both of their pro-MMA debuts back in December of 2019. Bhishma Chontamenti came up short against Unkown in their first outing but has since shown why he is the #1 ranked middleweight contender. having fought in Conquest he was more than prepared for his Checkmate debut back at Checkmate Contenders 3 where he took out the talented Abayomrunkoje Oni and was able to take out the Checkmate vet by way of TKO in the very first round. He then went on to face an opponent the current champ knows well, that is Ispa Murska, the one and only man to have ever defeated the champion Unkown, and Chontamenti was able to do what Unkown couldn't, and that was to defeat Ispa. Chontamenti took out the powerhouse Ispa by way of KO in the third round, and don't think he just got lucky because Chontamenti was pretty much in control the whole fight. That win isn't even the end of Chontamenti's impressive resume, he also defeated former top-ranked Checkmate contenders Pierre Nikolas and Obama Filth, defeating both by way of TKO. Chontamenti has only lost to Manco Unkown, and First Name, who Unkown has defeated twice. Manco Unkown has only lost to Ispa Murska, who Chontament defeated. With both men having a win over their opponent's losses, this rematch could be one of the best in Checkmate's history! In our Co-Main Event of the card, we will get to see yet another highly anticipated rematch this one for the Light-Heavyweight Belt when (C²) (P4P #2) Blake Phoenix "Version 2.0" (7-0)(3-0 in CC) takes on #1 (#9 P4P) "Lord" Lukasz Wieczorek (8-2)(7-1 in CC)(FC) in a fight that is guaranteed to be a scary good one! Blake Phoenix is the current Light-Heavyweight champion and the #2 ranked fighter for Checkmate and all of his performances reflect his high rankings and title reign. Phoenix was the one and only 205 champions at Conquest and is just the second 205 champion in Checkmate. He acquired his first at Conquest by taking out former Checkmate featherweight champion Magnificent Chulalongkorn with a 50:45x2, 50:46 unanimous decision. He then joined Checkmate during the merge and was given a deserved immediate title shot, which he capitalized on big time, taking out the inaugural Checkmate Light-Heavyweight champ and the man he will be facing once again on this card Lukasz Wieczorek, he did that by another unanimous decision victory this time it was 50:45x3, Phoenix handed Wieczorek his first and only loss in his Checkmate career in that bout and it is still Wieczorek's lonely defeat in Checkmate. After dethroning the champ, Phoenix went on to take out the raging contender at the time (and still a fierce top contender) Orvar Odd Lodinkinni in a bout that he won yet again by another 50:45x3 unanimous decision win, and in his last bout against the former undefeated prospect Ivan "Bricks" Kalcevski, who was a perfect 8-0 at the time, Phoenix didn't need the judges' scorecards as he finished the talented fighter in the very first round with a Submission by way of triangle choke! Phoenix is the only other Checkmate champion with a perfect record, alongside the #1 P4P king Chief Aztec. Tried and true #1 contender, the former champion, winner of Checkmate's "Hunting Gold" tournament, and #9 ranked P4P fighter, the highly accomplished "Lord" Lukasz Wieczorek is looking to get something back that Phoenix took from him, and that is his Checkmate championship belt! Wieczorek was apart of Checkmate's special "Hunting Gold" tournament which was created to crown the inaugural 170 and 205 Checkmate champions, Wieczorek shocked the world when he defeated the heavy favorite to win the whole tournament in Gabriel Creed, he then went on to take out the undefeated fighter in Mason Edwards who was a perfect 7-0 before running into Wieczorek in the first ever 205 title bout for Checkmate. Wieczorek then lost his belt in his first defense to the current champ Phoenix but bounced back quickly and strongly by taking out Willy Mataitai who was undefeated at the time and has since gone on to prove he is a strong contender in Checkmate as well. After Wieczorek took out Mataitai he then took out the contender we know well, Orvar Odd Lodinkinni, he did that by way of TKO in the very first round, oh did I forget to mention, Wieczorek has a 100% finishing rate in his wins, and all of them being by first-round TKO/KO. Wieczorek then found himself in a title eliminator fight against Checkmate's very own superstar, Zane "The Bedtime Story" Alexander, and when you fight a superstar you have to do something flashy for the cameras, and that is exactly what Wieczorek when he landed a beautiful superman punch that knocked Alexander out cold and earned himself a rematch with the current champ and only man to beat him inside the Checkmate cage. (205) - #3 Zane "The Bedtime Story" Alexander (9-3)(3-2 in CC) vs #7 Hurricane Defoe (4-1)(4-1 in CC) Alexander is in many eyes a superstar in everything he does, and he is really hunting a title shot and a big win over Defoe could put him back in the talks for just that. Defoe has a win over the man that was atop the division for a long time in Clinch King Smash Machine and wants to add another big name like Zane to that list. (185) - #2 Mitch Malone (5-1)(5-1 in CC) vs #3 Ispa Murska (4-4)(2-3 in CC) Malone is coming off a win against Abayomrunkoje Oni, he also holds a win over the former champ One Wonder and former top contender Obama Filth. He is also a former title challenger and wants to work his way back for a rematch with the champ. Although he might get counted out for his record, Ispa Murska is one of the best in 185 and even has a win over the current champ Manco Unknown. He is also coming off a big win over a man that most believe will be the next big thing at 185 in George Kane. (170) - #3 Potemkin Izmaylov (5-1)(5-1 in CC) vs #5 Darry Curtis (3-0)(2-0 in CC) Izmaylov was apart of Checkmate's Knight Battle tournament and made it to the finals before falling short to the current champ Logan Barrengarry, but he turned around in a big way by taking out vet Ispa Perkele. Darry Curtis is an up and coming undefeated fighter coming off the biggest win of his career back at Checkmate Fight Night 12 where he defeated NoBrain Mentally. (265) - #8 Ashwin Tyson (2-0)(1-0 in CC) vs Sergei "The Russian Axe" MiG (3-0)(1-0 in CC) This bout is a clash of two undefeated fighters who do not wanna lose their 0s and will do whatever it will take to keep their perfect records intact. (155) - #4 Kaino Ukkonen (3-2)(2-2 in CC) vs #5 Lloque Yupanqui (3-2)(2-2 in CC) A battle of two of the best Lightweights in Checkmate, both wanting to send a message to the division. (145) - #6 "Krazy Horse" Chase Buchanan (5-3)(3-2 in CC) vs #9 Carlos "The Checkmate Gatekeeper" Villarreal (6-5)(5-5 in CC) Both are former title challengers that do not know what an easy fight is as they have both only fought the best of the best. (170) - #7 Alex "Never Quit" Steel Ii (4-3)(4-1 in CC) vs "Joltin" Joe Johnson (4-0)(0-0 in CC) Top-ranked Steel welcomes the undefeated newcomer to the gates of Checkmate's cage and Johnson wants to get a number beside his name. (170) - Jorge Adesanya (4-5)(4-4 in CC) vs Van "Bones Jr" Der Veer Jr (2-7)(2-7 in CC) A short-notice fight for these two competitors and a quick turnaround for Veer Jr as he was on last week's card.
  14. Thank you! Looking forward to his fight! If you both keep winning I can see that happening too!

Fight Review: This fight was short and sweet like most of the other bouts on this card, Gardner was landing nice shots early, he was able to cut Schiff early, and got a beautiful knockdown early on with a big combo. Schiff attempted to pull guard but his hands slipped and he landed right on his back, he got back to his feet but as soon as he did Gardner landed a huge right hand that sent Schiff crashing to the canvas, but Gardner wanted this fight to remain on the feet and made Schiff stand up where he didn't let up at all and knocked Schiff out cold with a straight right down the middle! *Knockout of the night - Co-Main Event - (265) - #3 Jon Nolan (10-2)(8-2 in CC) DEF #5 Augustin Cauchy (10-3)(2-1 in CC) How: KO (Punches) When: RD#2 (3:43) Record Update: Nolan improves to (11-2). Fight Review: Round 1 starts and Cauchy was able to land a nice takedown and a submission attempt, but Nolan defended and was able to escape back to his feet pressed against the cage in the clinch in which he was also able to escape. Cauchy was relentless with his takedown attempts and was able to land another on Nolan and attempted many submission but nothing doing. The round ended with both fighters on their feet. Was a close round to score. Round 2 starts and Cauchy still clearly wants this fight on the mats, Nolan did a great job defending, Cauchy was able to land another takedown but was not able to get a finish off of it and Nolan got back up pressed against the cage, both were in the center on the cage when Nolan landed a huge combo that put Cauchy out cold! A fantastic KO! - Bout #7 - (205) - Willy Mataitai (4-1)(1-1 in CC) DEF Gilberto Silva (5-6)(2-2 in CC) How : KO (Punch) When : RD#1 (1:32) Record Update : Mataitai improves to (5-1). Thomas falls to (5-5). Ranking Change: Conner remains unranked. Thomas becomes unranked. Fight Review: Round 1 starts and Conner slips a jab and a cross from Thomas and then gets the fight into the clinch where he started to throw some nice strikes, he then briefly broke the clinch but got right back into it shortly after. Conner landed some nice softening blows before deciding to pull guard, Thomas was able to land a nice elbow before decided he wanted to stand back up and forced Conner to his feet. Both fighters exchange some more strikes and the round ends, a pretty entertaining first round. Round 2 begins and Conner gets it into the clinch once again early and starts to light Thomas up, causing Thomas to shoot in for a takedown and successfully got the double leg, but he didn't wanna grapple as he stood up immediately. After getting up Conner got the fight back into the clinch and started going off with strikes and rocked Thomas. It looked like Thomas had might've recovered but then Conner rocked him again with a clean uppercut, Thomas tried to clinch him to recover but Conner shoved him off and unloaded some heavy shots that made the ref step in and call the fight due to TKO! - Bout #5 - (170) - Ivan Jomoney (3-3)(1-2 in CC) DEF #7 Exeudo Oni (8-7)(6-5 in CC) How: Decision (Unanimous) When : Record Update: Jomoney improves to (4-3). Oni falls to (8-8). Ranking Change: Jomoney becomes #8. Oni becomes #9. Fight Review: Round 1: Jomoney scored a takedown right after the bell rings and was working to keep control on Oni, He was looking for some ground and pound but was missing more than he was landing until he landed a nice forearm strike that cut Oni open, he continued to control on the ground with some small shots added in, around the 3-minute mark Oni was able to reverse Jomoney but didn't try to land much and was just looking for control so the ref stood them up, Jomoney tries a few more takedowns but scored and the round ended. Round 2: round 2 starts and Jomoney wanted this fight on the ground! Oni was able to get Jomoney in the clinch then he decided to showcase his own grappling skills and dragged Jomoney to the canvas putting Jomoney in his guard. Oni was looking for sweeps and Jomoney was looking to land some strikes. About 2 minutes in Oni was able to get a reversal and was looking for some of his own ground and pound, nothing big landed and the ref stood them up once more. The round ended with Oni pulling guard and Jomoney trying to score some late shots. Round 3: Each fighter had won a round each so this round was the decider for the bout, and Jomoney immediately gets a takedown and starts trying to get something going with his ground and pound. Late in the round Oni tried a few submission attempts and got a nice reversal at the end of the round but it wasn't enough in the judge's eyes and Jomoney took home the victory. *Fight of the night - Bout #4 - (265) - Earnie Shavers (2-3)(1-3 in CC) DEF Dalton Swas (3-3)(2-3 in CC) How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#1 (1:48) Record Update: Shavers improves to (3-3). Swas falls to (3-4). Ranking Change: Both fighters remain unranked. Fight Review: This bout was originally scheduled to kick off the Checkmate Championship 12 card but was able to make the weight limit, but now on the following week they were able to both make weight and have a scrap. Shavers was landed with some nice punches early on then he got Swas into the clinch and continued to land shots, he then landed a nice left hand that rocked Swas, Shavers then broke the clinch to land some strikes at range before getting this fight back into the clinch where he laned some more hard blows, but a hard uppercut is what was the start of the fight before Shavers was able to get the TKO victory. - Bout #3 - (265) - Bloodsport Unknown (3-5)(1-2 in CC) DEF Maris Lakis (3-4)(1-2 in CC) How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#1 (1:55) Record Update: Unknown improves to (4-5). Lakis falls to (3-5). Ranking Change: Both fighters remain unranked. Fight Review: Round starts and Lakis attempts a takedown but doesn't get it, Unknown then engages a clinch but was stalling for the most part, Lakis tried to pull guard but failed, Unknown then got him into the clinch once more where he was able to land an elbow that cut Larkis and after that, it was just a matter of time before he ultimately got a TKO stoppage. - Bout #2 - (185) - Kotaro Kikuta (1-3)(1-2 in CC) DEF Karl Beilstein (4-6)(1-2 in CC) How: KO (Head Kick) When: RD#1 (0:38) Record Update: Kikuta improves to (2-3). Beilstein falls to (4-7). Ranking Change: Kikuta becomes the #4 contender. Beilstein remains unranked. Fight Review: This was the fastest finish of the night, Beilstein tried for a takedown early but took some punishment from Kikuta for doing so, Beilstein continued to try to get a takedown but Kikuta was showing good defense then he was able to set up a perfect head kick that shut Beilstein's lights out! - Bout #1 - (170) - Blackout Mane (2-4)(0-3 in CC) DEF Van Der Veer Jr (2-6)(2-6 in CC) How: Submission (Armbar) When: RD#1 (1:59) Record Update: Mane improves to (3-4). Veer Jr falls to (2-7). Ranking Change: Both fighters remain unranked. Fight Review: In this bout, we saw a Checkmate vet in Van Der Veer Jr take on Blackout Mane in a submission of the night bout, Veer Jr wanted a takedown early but paid the price for not successfully getting Mane to the ground with some nice uppercuts and crossed to his moneymaker, Mane continued to light Veer Jr up before Veer Jr was able to time Mane and score a takedown, but once it hit the mats Mane was on the hunt for a submission and after a failed armbar attempt from Mane and a smile from Veer Jr, Blackout Mane decided enough was enough and started to go for a triangle but quickly switched to an armbar and got the tap! *Submission of the night
