James Howlett: Sure thing Sanka. Really isn't no beef. I just don't like guys who talk big but aren't. I knew he would turn the fight because he's fake. He wanted to publicly talk about a fighter dodging him. If you are going to have the gall to do that then anyone saying let's go no matter who it is and if your response is anything other than you're on means you have no room to talk about dodgers and duckers.

Sanka Coffee: I hear you on that one had a bunch of dodgers back in my day mahn. And you Hank you keep finding yourself matched up with a tougher opponent everytime you fight. Tell us about your most recent opponent.

Hank McCoy: Well my next opponent is 26 year old 6-1 Doug Funny. He has 6 KOs all by way of ground and pound and even fought for the belt against former champion Ike Wellstone. He lost that fight. And if anyone knows Ike knows he was a great champion. In his loss of the belt in his last fight he dominated the first 3 rounds before losing in the 4th.

Sanka Coffee: Is that a jab at the current champion at 205 Kai Tokugawa?

Hank McCoy: He was being dominated for 3 straight rounds and found a way to come back and win so hats off to him but it's a dig if he denies Ike the reshot at the belt after getting manhandled until championship rounds against a guy on his 3rd defense of the title.

Sanka Coffee: I see that point. James what about your current opponent?

James Howlett: Well my opponent is 26 year old 2-2 Wubbe De Klerk. He is a stand up fighter and while I'm constantly getting better in my striking game I'm not foolish enough to stand with him.

Sanka Coffee: So going for the takedown nice and we'll get back to that. Hank how do you see the fight with Doug going?

Hank McCoy: Well it's no secret Doug plans on putting my 100% takedown defense a run for it's money. He's a really good wrestler but I think I'm a better wrestler and we both are purple belts in bjj, but I have him completely outclassed in the striking game. So it's going to a match of who can impose who's will if he can get me to the ground which is no small task then he has a shot and if I can keep it standing the safer approach in this fight then it's my night.

Sanka Coffee: Hank that is a well thought out game plan which is no surprise I have heard a few of your other interviews and you always seem to have a pretty analytical unbiased approach to your fights.

Hank McCoy: Thank you.

Sanka Coffee: You're welcome. Now James you are very confident in your bjj isn't that right?

James Howlett: Yes I am. At 15 I won the Canadian brown belt bjj tournament and at 16 I won the Canadian bjj open competition for all belts. That got me scouted by Old School Training in Hilo Hawaii. MMA sounded like a cool thing to try and test of my bjj while a chance to grow my knowledge in martial arts as a whole. So I accepted the offer and got flown out and live in a dorm at the school they got me into. My training at Old School Training is free as long as I teach a grappling class once a week and give 30% of my purse from my fights to them. I hear talk that they are planning on giving me my black belt in bjj before my fight but I could see them wanting to celebrate with presenting it to me after the fight as well.

Sanka Coffee: Wow really? A black belt in bjj would you be the first bjj black belt in all of Bellicose?

James Howlett: I'm not sure about that maybe, but I would definitely be the youngest one.

Sanka Coffee: Well that's all we have time for.

 

Usman Jr : “read this and can’t say anything bad… i said Draven is a future HOF but i’m losing respect for him ducking if that’s what he’s doing. Howlett has some guys to step to a Top WW and i had to stand my ground and so did he. my approach changes depending on the opponent and i definitely see Howlett as a possibility in the future. not just any fight… a super fight.”

 

”i have no beef with Howlett but in his interview he brings up he’s too smart to stand with his opponent the whole time… i feel the same why about his challenge, i’ve worked to be in the position i am today. me taking a fight against a rookie could risk my chances of being a champ. i no doubt think i can beat Howlett, now just isn’t the time to take a risk fight like this if i’m 2 maybe 1 step closer to what i got my eye on and that’s the 170 belt!”

The First of our 3 Headed Card is a #1 Contender's Match for the Welterweight title between (2)” Gentleman” Ethan Hawk and (4) ”Retro” Rupert Helenius. This is a Striker v Striker Matchup with both having noticeable Stand-Up Skills. Hawk is looking to get his way back into the title picture after not only losing the title but the 0 on his record. He displays Golden Glove Boxing and it shows in his 13 Victories. Don't get it twisted, Hawk has a sneaky grappling game on his skillset having 2 Wins via Submission. Helenius is looking to put a stamp on his name in this Contenders Bout. Helenius displays just about everything within his skillset having a win in all 3 possible ways. This fight can go all sorts of ways but expect it to be mostly standing.

 

Prediction: Hawk's taste of getting his gold and 0 taken all in one night is enough to predict this fight. Hawk breezes by for his chance to become a 2 time WW Champ

For the Co-Main Event, we have a Middleweight Matchup between 2 seasoned fighters (5)Gus McCrae v Korben “The Element” Dallas. This is a typical Striker v Grappler matchup. Gus McCrae is looking to get his way into the higher end of the top 5 with a noticeable victory over an Elite Wrestler in Dallas. McCrae is a top striker and it has gotten him a good spot to crack the title conversation. Dallas is an Elite Wrestler looking to put his name on notice dominantly beating a ranked McCrae. A Striker turned Grappler since switching management and camps has done him well with 2 Submission Victories within the org. You can expect Dallas to attempt to take this fight to the ground and control the fight from there. Don't get it twisted, you McCrae can have something up his sleeve ready for when Dallas shoots for the takedown.

 

Prediction: Dallas has tasted the life of both Striking and Grappling, with that he grinds out this victory to crack top 5 ranking.

 

Hong Kong “Bird Flu” v Wilhelm “Arm” Bar

For the Main Event, we have Gold on the line. Hong Kong “Bird Flu” is making his first title defense against Wilhelm “Arm” Bar. Kong shocked the world by getting a huge upset victory against Undefeated Champ Ethan Hawk. Kong is an elite grappler, he shows in his fights that he can both Submit and Control you on the ground. He's going to come out and prove that his Title Victory wasn't a fluke… It was just the beginning of an amazing career. Bar is coming in to show that his record does not show how good of a fighter he is. Currently, on a 3 Fight Win Streak with all in a dominant fashion he deserves this. This will be a Grappler v Grappler Matchup, this will not be as interesting as a Striker v Striker, but don't blink because both of these Elite Grapplers can end the fight at any given moment with the finishing ability they both have. These will be the questions answered from this bout…. Was Kongs win a fluke? Who is the superior grappler?

 

Prediction: Kong is an elite grappler, no hate to Bar. Kong knows what it takes to beat the best, he will get the job done again.
