  1. Yoga trains Agility, a little slowly but reliably. Can anyone vouch for Circuit Training helping Agility also?

    how do u TRAIN ??

^^ Rock solid advice...get your Conditioning up to Superb, you'll end up resting a lot at first but you'll see your Conditioning go up quite quickly. After that I always work my other physicals...Strength is a quick gainer as well, doesn't sap your energy nearly as much as Cardio does. Yoga trains Flexibility, Balance and Agility all at a slower rate, but yoga takes almost no energy, once your cardio is straight, you can train a full week of yoga sessions without a single rest. Expect to rest a couple times per week, maybe more if you're throwing weights or cardio in there, with sparring and yoga, two should pretty much do it. Make sure you get a good quality supplement, that can make a difference in the effectiveness of your training. Stamina supp for Cardio days, and Muscle supp for Weights days, and Recovery for everything else. No supp on rest days, you don't need to mess with weight loss or gainers quite yet. After you get your physicals in line, or earlier if you can't resist the temptation, work in a little bit of sparring which will help your Primary skills, that's Boxing, MT, Wrestling, and BJJ. When you start thinking you're ready to fight, make a solid plan about how you want your guy to develop, and start exploring the more expensive gyms to polish your secondary skills, bolster your weaknesses, accentuate your strengths. Good luck!
  3. Okie that settles it for me. A pure bjj 22 year old is going to have takedowns at Respectable or better and Clinchwork at Mediocre at best. Clinching puts your Feeble against a Feeble/Mediocre clincher with Abysmal MT, and staying at range puts your Feeble TD defense against Respectable takedowns and a stronger Wrestler . My vote is to favor the clinch, definitely. You'll still work your Wonderful boxing from the clinch, with the Dirty Box slider, but I think if you try to stay at range he'll put you on your back right quick. Otherwise you'll have to amp up your aggression and hope you land enough power shots to put this guy down before you gas or he tries a takedown off a shot or counter. Because he will take you down from range, it's just a matter of how long til he does. That's not to say he can't take you down from the clinch, it's just to say that the attack/defense skill disparity is greater from range than from the clinch. Again, best of luck man, I'll have to watch this fight to see how ya do!

    Good Gyms

That's assuming he has any wonderfuls sparring at a 20 dollar gym in the first place, unless he's made them solely for training. Even if he does, it's certainly not like there's a gym full of wonderfuls all sparring the same thing so in a 8 person session you're not going to have 3 wonderfuls in there with ya. A smallish, 8 person session with a wonderful, a competent, 3 feeble and 3 woeful will average out to 38.75, still in the Feeble training range. A 15 person session with 5 competent, 5 mediocre and 5 woeful averages out to 36.66. Its not so much the quality of the top guy you need to worry about, it's the quality of the other 10 schlubs in there with your schlub that matters
  5. I just based mine on the disparity between the Primary skills of both fighters. Obviously the wonderful boxing is going to be where Glasgow's strength is, and normally I would suggest to break the clinch and stay at striking distance, which would indeed still be a valid strategy. Unfortunately his opponent is a pure bjj player with a slight advantage in Wrestling, so I estimated it would be easier for the opponent to score a shot takedown from range, rather than in the clinch, as the opponent will have far more in Takedowns than in Clinchwork. Glasgow has a 3 level advantage in MT, which I hope would include clinchwork, which would give Glasgow the advantage in both MT strikes and defense against clinch takedowns. It's just whether the opponent thinks his Takedowns are dominant enough to risk staying at striking range vs a Wonderful boxer, knowing that it only takes one successful takedown to put the fight in his realm, or whether he takes his chances in the clinch, still getting punched by a Wonderful boxer, but where his disadvantage in Clinchwork will be highlighted. If I were Glasgow's opponent, you basically can hope to weather the striking storm at range and shoot for a takedown to get it to the ground, or try to clinch and takedown from there. Either way, I like Glasgow's chances, as long as his Clinchwork is ok, and his TDD is ok, which it better be to be a striker like he is Just definitely keep the slider for Stay Standing/Try Takedowns at 100% standing for both Standup and Clinchwork categories, favor Dirty Box over Muay Thai on that slider to put your Wonderful to work for you, and maybe ramp up the aggressiveness, as you'd rather put the opponent away rather than linger in a clinch for the off-chance he does manage to score some kind of a takedown. Of course on the ground it's going to be all positions and getting back to your feet. There are so many ways to try it...probably every suggestion will have some merit. Edit: looking over it again, in a nutshell my strategy would exploit the fact that an abysmal striking, pure bjj player will train up Takedowns and Wrestling, and generally completely overlook Clinchwork. Is your TDD strong enough that you can stay at range against a 22 year old who is focused in the area of Takedowns?

Yoga trains all three: Flexibility, Balance, and Agility.

Balance comes along with Agility and Flexibility when you do Yoga training.
  8. Yah, clearly your advantage is standing, and also you benefit from having slightly better MT, which should help you in the clinch, if nothing else to avoid the clinch takedowns. You could even use the clinch to leverage your striking advantage. Since he's slightly better at wrestling and so much worse at MT, he'll likely be looking to take the fight to the ground via wrestling shots, not via the clinch. If you were to break a clinch to get back to striking range which should be your strength, you'll also be helping him set up his takedowns at range. Your bjj may keep you out of an easy sub, but needless to say you don't want to get into a protracted ground fight given his wrestling and significant bjj advantage. Just at a glance, I would give some consideration to working the clinch and favoring the strike type you're strongest at, majority punches if that's all you have, or mix in knees/elbows if you have those as well. Best of luck!
  9. Ya, energy watching is one of those mysterious compulsions that we develop as we build fighters. Some guys never go below 90, I think the lowest I've ever allowed a fighter to get was 86 before I broke down and rested him. That's the crux of it though...everyone will have a minimum amount they'll let their guys get to and when they reach it, your guy is resting, so whether its 95 or 75, all that means is the 75 guy has a handful more training sessions before he starts his workout/rest session regimen. 90 is my cutoff point of choice, just because if I keep it there I'm right near 100% after the mandatory Sunday rest sessions, so each week I start off fresh. One other voodoo tidbit I've heard (and follow) is that Yoga in particular is better done at the 95+ level.
  10. I have to say I'm damn glad to hear it. I've played so many shambolic sport sims, where the community sucks and the devs take in a bunch of cash to support a "beta" game then abandon the project. Mike really seems like a square dealer, he obviously listens to the community but has shown that if a handful of people are screaming for something that will benefit only them, he'll stick to his guns and make this HIS sim, not theirs. I really have a lot of hope for the future, and can't wait to see what's around the corner!

    Ground n' Pound

That sounds like a good plan...also keep in mind that we're working on a 150 point scale, so even at Competent a skill is only 1/3 of the way to mastery. If your opponent had his GnP skill at a high level, a combination of skill and luck could have just had him punching through whatever defense you were putting up. There's also a chance that the hidden 'chin' attribute your guy has is incredibly low, which would contribute to him going down in a few hits. Have you had other fights with that fighter?
  12. Ravener

    Ground n' Pound

I was always under the impression that GnP is purely for attack, like an analogue to Submission Offense. If you wanted to defend on the ground, Defensive Grappling would be the better thing to focus, it should work for both GnP and Submission defence. I don't believe Striking Defense is effective on the ground. Someone else may wish to confirm, but Striking Defense is the direct counter to Punch/Kick/Elbow/Knee the way Defensive Grappling counters Sub Offense/GnP, right? Not counting the fact that every skill interacts with several other skills in a minor relationship kinda way.
  13. If you're paying a lot for your current gym, and your new gym is expensive also, it is probably better to wait and time the change more exactly. If you're switching from the default Cozad to another inexpensive one, or between 2 inexpensive gyms, you'll probably benefit from switching right away and getting in your training sessions at a gym you like, rather than saving 50 bucks or something. Ideally you could do the 9pm GMT session Thursday, quit your gym, then join your new gym after 10:55pm GMT gym fee deductions are taken out on Thurs., but not too many people are that careful to hit the less-than-2 hour window, and it's not really worth the trouble to save just a few bucks. Cheers!
  14. Ugh I can't envision Hardy as the WW champ, although Serra held it for a little while so every now and then a DB can win the lottery with a big punch. He'd better double down on the TDD because there's no way GSP is just going to stand there and wait for him to get lucky. In reality though, I see this being a badly one-sided GnP affair in GSP's favor, the amount of punishment directly proportional to the amount of smack that Hardy tries to dish out in the run-up to the fight.
  15. 108 was the first event I ever streamed on the internet rather than either buying or going to a bar to watch. After chasing down a good feed (the first one died literally as Yvel and JDS were entering the octagon) I have to say I was pleased with the event. I though Yvel looked off, maybe the jitters that overseas fighters get their first time in the UFC, like CroCop and others. I hope he doesn't fizzle like some of the others have. Not to take away from JDS though, hard to argue with a KTFO win, and with the heavies in flux, they need another good prospect to make fights with. I wanted Hazelett to do better, but I keep telling myself he's a young guy and if he can do some bjj wizardry in his next fight or 2 before they cut him, he'll have a good future. Daley did a hell of a job though; he redeemed himself in his post-fight interview, I thought his ego went supernova with his victory antics and we'd be stuck with another Bisping or Hardy. Now I'll actually watch him fight again, rather than just praying for the day someone Henderson's him. Glad to see Kampmann win, he'll make some good matches in 170. I found the Rashad fight pretty interesting. I could see that Greg Jackson's plan was to get the takedown, look for a position but don't waste a lot of energy contesting for position on the ground. Thiago did a good job getting up negating Rashad's ability to do anything even when he briefly had the mount. I'm not one of the legion of Rashad haters though, so I don't care if he just did takedowns for points without followup subs or GnP. If Thiago didn't want to give up takedown points, then do some TDD. Also, in the 3rd round, I was just waiting for Thiago to put Rashad away while he was on rubber legs, and kept waiting. And waiting. Thiago did look soft and I think all the standing up affected him a lot more than it did Rashad, but the 3rd round was Thiago's to win the fight and he failed to do it, and got the L as a result. Neither of these guys are ready to go back to fight Machida though. I hope Rashad goes back to his camp and sharpens his tools, because there is nothing I like about Rampage and wish him every bad thing in life, including a KTFO (but more likely a boring split decision) loss to Rashad. Cheers!

  17. Honestly at ~40% you could move your guys to part-time training, then pick "No training" on those 6 sessions as well. Check it toward the end of the week, you might be able to fit in some type of training Fri or Sat. and still be close to 90ish. With next Sunday's rest you can be back near 100 and ready to work a real schedule. It sucks to lose a week's worth of training, but in the whole of a guy's career it's really just a drop in the bucket, and the 200 bucks you get for part-time can come in handy. Cheers!

    Thanks Guys

Hey man thanks for bringing a good positive attitude to the game! Most answers are indeed in the wiki, but the wiki has so much information sometimes it's overwhelming and you can miss the piece of info you're looking for, even when it's right in front of you. Also, sometimes the wiki page that has critical information is named something different than what you think it would be, so a search doesn't yield the right page as the first result...
  19. If his starting Conditioning is really low, it can be frustrating to train up, since it will seem like you're spending too much time resting to regain Energy to a decent level before you can do Cardio again. Be assured though, Cardio is the easiest thing to raise, and you can do a 2:1 ratio of Cardio to rest sessions during the week and still be close to 100% by the end of Sunday's rest periods.

    Good Gyms

Just like the Peak Condition in Vegas, the new Peak Condition in Amsterdam also offers a great gym to work Cardio, Strength, and the other Physical stats, as well as Sparring, always on Pristine/Brand New facilities for only $24 per week. Give your fighter a solid foundation of physicals to work with before you worry about coaching. No point in paying for great coaches if you're sitting out 4 sessions a week due to low energy. Cheers!
  21. I just uploaded the pic to something like photobucket, then copied the direct link to the into my signature.
  22. I absolutely agree...get your Conditioning up at least to Respectable right away, with the goal of reaching Strong/Superb or higher after that. You will be able to get through a full week of yoga without rest, sparring and weights with only a couple rest sessions, and even a hardcore Cardio week requires less downtime if you have your Conditioning level at a good high level. I've found Conditioning to be almost addictive...when you reach one goal you find yourself wanting to push for just that little bit more. No matter though, there is no instance where having more Conditioning than your opponent would be a bad thing, in the cage or in the gym. Cheers!
  23. Thanks for the kind words guys! I think that's what really sets Peak Condition apart; the "after-the-sale" service we provide. Between TK's experience and my commitment to giving the fighters of Amsterdam the best possible training/sparring atmosphere, for 24 bucks Peak Condition provides way more than just basic (yet flawless!) facilities. If you have a fighter in Amsterdam, or want to create one to get a fresh start in a fresh city, stop by Peak Condition Fitness and get the most for your money!

  25. If you want to buy a company directly from its owner, and don't have enough cash on hand to complete the sale, what do you do? Since the option to take out a bank loan only appears as part of the company creation screen, can I start my own company, a "shell" company, take out the 50k loan, then use that cash to purchase the other company? How exactly does that work...if you have a company already, but want to buy a different one, do you get the choice to replace the old one with the new one, do you simply not get that option at all if you have a company already, or do you have to close your own company before proceeding with the purchase of the new one? If I create a company, take out the loan, then close it right away, all that loan debt comes due immediately, per the wiki The worst case scenario would be having to do a manager to manager loan from this guy for half the purchase price, give him his money right back as the purchase price of the company, then pay him back that same amount plus interest in loan payment installments for the remainder of the purchase price LOL. Is there any other way to get a bank loan in order to purchase an existing company without having to create a sham company just to get the loan? Should that be an improvement to suggest? Separating the bank loan function from the 'create a company' function? That would allow a VIP to take a bank loan for personal use (elite training, company purchases, etc) and assume all the risks of losing VIP without having to go through the sham of creating a company to get it. Any info will help, thanks!
