  1. Invictus, thanks for the example. I'm looking for more examples like these. Unfortunately, we don't really know what his individual stats were. Do you think he had put the specific skill stats higher in stand up and all his genre stats in BJJ? Also, how did your specific stats compare to your genre stats going into that fight (if you don't mind telling)? It seems like with superior wrestling and only slightly worse BJJ, you should have the defensive grappling advantage. It also looks like you were pretty aggressive on the ground with plenty of sub attempts. Do you think he just neglected to put points into his defensive grappling? Since you beat him on the ground with strikes, it seems like the defensive grappling you employed was the main difference maker and not your submission skills. And we know that defensive grappling is a combo of wrestling and BJJ (according to the wiki on hiring trainers). I know that each aspect is important and that to be really great, you must be good in all fields. What I am really hoping to find with this discussion and these experiments is to what degree they effect each other. Obviously, we may never know with 100% certainty, but I think it's possible to break it down with some averages and have a good idea.
  2. Look, I really appreciate everyone weighing in on this and giving their opinions. I'm not trying to say anyone is right or wrong. I'm looking for a source or proof. I understand that only Mike knows for certain how the fight engine works. But certainly, I'm not the only one trying to find out the best way to maximize training results. I understand MMA is complex. I've been a fan for a long time. The question I am asking is not in reference to MMA. It's in reference to this game. I understand the game is complex. That's why I'm asking these questions. I already enjoy the game to a great degree. If I didn't, I would not have purchased VIP. This thread will probably never go anywhere, so I will just continue with my experiments. But just for the sake of comprehensiveness, I will ask again: Source?
  3. Thanks for repeating the same answer to the wrong question. That isn't what I'm asking. And again, if someone would like to answer the actual question, please cite your sources.
  4. Those saying that Punch Technique is the same as Punch Power don't really make sense. I have read everything in the wiki I could find. Your power or ability to KO is a hidden attribute. Your movement and ability to avoid shots would be Agility and Striking Defense. My question is simple and it's ok to say you don't know. Seems like Mike is the only one that can say for certain. But the question was "Which is more important: genre pops or specific pops?" Furthermore, how do these traits effect each other and to what degree? If you have an answer, please cite your source or show me where you have experimented with these factors.
  5. I think you might be missing the point of my question. What is Elite Boxing if not Elite Punching skill? Why are there two categories and how can I best train to use this to the fullest extent?
  6. Ok, I found the reply you were talking about: http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?...ic=2463&hl= It's still not clear how exactly this is meant to work. So, I guess I will continue on with my experiments and see.
  7. Well, it looks like the answer is "no." Nobody seems to know for certain. These are all valid guesses, but really nobody can show me that they experimented with these factors to know for sure (a purple belt being subbed by a blue belt is not that shocking of a result). Seems like only Mike knows and he's not saying.
  8. Then why should I bother training wrestling drills? If the wrestling skill level has no effect on my wrestling, why bother? That's what I'm trying to find out. Right now, I am trying my own experiments to see what works. But it seems like a huge waste of time and money (considering I pay for the VIP capabilities) to find out some basic information on why we have conflicting traits.
  9. I hope Mike will pop in this thread and at least give us a hint or a clue. I don't want the source code; I just want to know what these things mean. What does it mean for someone to have Elite Wrestling but Useless Takedowns? Edit to respond to DirtyBoxer: I like a little bit of unknown in the game i.e. hidden attributes, unknown quality level of supps, etc. However, at some point, after experimentation, we will know the answers to these particular questions. It may take months to figure it out, but we'll know by then. This particular lack of information is only holding back the quality of the fighters for a year or so. This is more a question of instruction and not a question of "what is the best tactic?" I'm specifically trying to find out why there are two attributes that appear to contradict each other.
  10. I guess that's what bothers me about this game. There is no transparency. I don't know what works and what doesn't. I suppose through time people will figure it out and we will be able to add info to the wiki. But it'd be nice to know what should be trained in order to do certain things. The wiki is basically devoid of this type of information. As far as saying the brown belt is "just holding up his pants", I only used that as an example. What if it was wonderful boxing with useless punches? I just want to know how and to what degree these traits effect each other.
  11. Which is more important: genre pops or specific pops? If I have a brown belt who has useless submissions and useless defensive grappling, how will he do against a white belt with wonderful submissions and wonderful defensive grappling?
  12. Is it possible to change my manager's base? Since New York came out, I've gone VIP and most of my fighters are in NY now. It's only slightly annoying to have to change the city everytime I go to the highstreet.
