  1. Dave can't wait to scrap with y'all. :training2:

I was buying clothing an item or two at a time so as not to blow all my money. Logged in to find he is on his last fresh set of clothing and the once full stores are sold out. Heh.

  2. Actually, I just got booted from the gym since I only have $39. So now I can't even train it seems. I went part time last night in order to have the $200 required to stay at the gym. Can someone explain what happened please? You do get $200 when going part time correct?

    As per the wiki:

"Part time training (they will get an income of $200 and 6 training slots per week)"

So how come I didn't get the $200?

  3.

    Well said :)

I forgot I was on The Island, went straight to the $750 a week. Now I am broke and can't get a contract because so are the orgs.

    Whatevs, bring it :P

I paid the $50 for the basic gym, then switched ($750) as the basic gym was dirty and overcrowded and I didn't want my morale to drop. Should have just stuck at Cozads or whatever. Now I went part time, and I'll probably end up going back to the first gym anyways when my cash runs out.

    Live and learn.

  4.

It's The Island. No one is rich. Everyone started on the same money. Most people are so poor they can't even get a gym or a fight to earn money because the companies have no money.

That's why I was confused when I saw a guy with around $3500 a few days in, which to me, is rich for the Island considering the time frame.

I imagine he got say, $300 from winning a fight, and two $750 sponsors or something but how did companies afford to give him that much?

  5. How are some guys supposed to compete with rich fighters on the Island? I ask because my guy can barely afford to train (I guess I should have been part time from the start, at a cheap gym?) while other fighters have thousands of dollars. I saw a guy with over $3000 and only one fight under his belt. Where did all that cash come from? Insane sponsorship or something?

I have two sponsors; Ace of Spades paid me a nice amount but my other one, Atlantis, only gave a discount on supplements. If someone could let me know how to get a few grand quickly, it would be very helpful.

  6. Not a playoff game but the Habs Bruins game tonight feels like one. Boychuk was taken off on a stretcher. :injured:

Prust 6' 195 took on and held his own against Thornton 6'2 217. Wonder if Parros will scrap in the third. :haddock:

I would have started a thread but there doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in hockey on here so why clutter up the place.

  7. I've turned down a fight due to it being a huge mismatch. Another time I accepted a mismatch but sent a message explaining that I was going to destroy the guy and maybe it was a bad idea to make it. Ended up being canceled.

Didn't feel bad in either case. :)
