  1. Don't forget that BJJ is useless in this game, always make a white belt. I think their success rate speaks for them.
  2. Rodey's number 32, I'm pretty happy with that considering he's a featherweight. I came in 80 somethingth, pretty surprized I'm that high.
  3. Thanks. We actually have to overhaul the icon.
  4. I'll take Escudero over cole miller. I'll take on two bets, forum, and managerial pic. 14 day bet. If you want different specify. Also I'll take on Franky Redz in an avatar bet with Rodey vs Torres, assuming I don't get the in manager bet taken up.
  5. To make it easier on me. http://metacognition.co.cc/forums/viewtopi...p?f=8&t=114
  6. You're all welcome to do so, I talked with Mike a couple months back and he gave me the okay to post about it. We need feedback on this website be it good or bad. If you like to drink your haterade then you get a free chance to use it. The site is Metacognition.co.cc , it is in the pre launch phase and just finished being cleaned up/debugged/polished to a decent extent. It focuses on religion/government/conspiracy/philosophy/technology. There are still things that need to be done. If you wanna just click on the link and give some feedback preferably via pm then that would help a lot. If you wanna post negative comments on the thread then that works too. Just try not to make me cry.
  7. If you'rew two pounds over you can cut them, but it takes energy, and from what I've heard it doesn't matter much. But if there's someone who has had to deal with this I would be interested to know how it played out.
  8. I thought this was an interesting fun fact. I'm pretty sure everyone else in the top 10 p4p put together do not equal those views. Mendez might have the second highest views, didn't check that, but from what I DID see, the next number of views was around 2300. So you might not give a shit, but it's impressive.
  9. Just out of curiosity, how much exactly does the sauna (2 pounds over on day of fight) take out of a fighter? Is it just an energy toll? if so, could you share how much? Any help in this would be cool. Cuz if it was just a 5-10 percent energy hit then it would definately be worth the extra couple pounds at 135-145.
  10. The game mechanics are simple, the more aggressive you are in any area, the more chance you have of being caught via anything. The less aggressive you are, the easier to control a fight, but the less you score. So, if you lay and pray and your opponent sub spams, he has less chance of catching you, but it's almost always an eventuality that he will. Same with standup. So more GnP equals higher chance of being caught, assuming you can't finish him. If you're smart just use GnP to score while controling from top, then let him up. Take him down and repeat.
  11. Noone has to cater to guys that wanna do standup only as a sidegame. It's an idea that is cool as hell and all that MIKE would have to do is make it so there are no takedown attempts in the system for these fights. Leave it at muay thai or muay thai with no elbows and keep it simple. Small changes. Then the records are counted in a different category. There don't have to necessarilly be rankings or any of that considering this is an MMa game. I will volunteer some of my guys into this for a couple fights why not, but the whole thing is flawed from the get go as far as keeping score on who the best are. Guys will obviously make guys with 1 point in wrestling and BJJ, so let them. and just focus on evenly matching guys for single standup fights. Maybe there will be a couple of those specialists with 1 point in each style who try to make a cross over, that would be interestling. I'm all for it, mike obviously won't build a whole new system, but why not have a sidegame consisting of essentially a limited version of the already present system. And as far as submission grappling I say go ahead, but the BJJ is so dominant that the whole thing is going to be a luck spamming contest. Striking is a little more workable. But until there is an option to go for guard passing etc and spammers actually have to pay an energy penalty of some kind it wil just be about who has superior stats.
  12. And how many NCAA top level wrestlers get subbed by black belts while on top? Send that stat over. And those wrestlers usually are only blue belt level to high blue belt level. You never see subs from bottom to the extent that there are in this game. And most of the top notch wrestlers that do get subbed are either barely competant at sub grappling, or are on their backs, a place that is damn hard to get them to. Without a gi subs from bottom are pretty much outdated, and so is GnP for that point unless you're a 205/265er. there has to be a VAST gap in sub skills for a guy like Tito or Rashad or Hammil to get subbed by a guy from bottom. Mir, Nog, and Fedor seem to be the only ones that are extremely dangerous from their backs anymore, and go figure that they're all three in the HW division. =slow guys on top. And how much success to Mir and Nog have these days anyway?
  13. I like Fight Factory, they're by far the best gym in the world, and they give free roid sandwiches to all their fighters, the best by far!, no bias from me by being the owner
  14. Kinda relevant? Definantely supports maintaining the current use of "private" gyms.
  15. Do you have ANY clue how crazy long it would take to be elite at 2 styles, let alone being decent with all your substats? The problem is the guys who stick around and exclusively train have a decent advantage. If Mike wants to fix thins he just needs to make it so if you never fight you take a morale hit, like any fighter would. If you train 2 straight months you start to see a morale hit, if you train for 3 straight then you're gonna end up with a heavy morale toll.

    Spam Tatics

All that needs to happen is when something is being used like takedown spamming, or sub spamming, or ko spamming, the chance of it being succesful needs to dramatically lower. Ko spamming is probably the next to come when sub and takedown spamming get fixed.
  17. I own one and we don't do anything wrong, actually, we have quite the problem with sustaining finances to stay open. So fuck the complainers, if you're VIP and don't have a company, quit being a little bitch and go create a sparring gym. Get a friend and populate the place with 14 plus fighters. The economy in the game is good enough to do this. If you're VIP and you don't have a company there's no reason, outside of laziness, that you shouldn't have one to help yourself. And why should it be so unrealistic? Look at MFC Elite, ChuteBoxe, and many other mid era MMA gyms, they were exactly what our gyms are.

    Donation?

I don't like the idea. VIP is already pretty unfair. Adding a feature strong enough could mean whoever put the most real money in could be the top manager.
  19. Rodey: "First of all, those weren't taps, they were open palm strikes and the screaming was to amp myself up for the whoopass that was to come to Chase. It was a referee mistake. And secondly Im not the one who likes to beat up on fighters with no or losing records. Torres must have diarhia with all the shit coming out of him. His nickname is the mullet and he has a damn afro, what's up with that huh?! I'm sure if he just took his nappy ass home he could just go on the streets and find the same level of competition he's been fighting his whole career. And as for the two world class fighters he beat... http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_y55ILMm6kSI/Rl7c4XJOfnI/AAAAAAAAApo/NfLtXwHo6Go/s400/Houston%20Alexander.jpg lightning won't strike 3 times with him either.
  20. Yeah, but also take into account that sometimes records A- aren't relevant to a fighters ability B- don't reflect the level of oposition (hence regular records not being enough to rank) and point C- Some fighters that fall off to mediocrity USED to be the toughest guys on the block. Check my strength or schedule thread in the improvements section I think you'll see a better method that reflects the same end goal.
  21. Yeah, his next fight is at 145. I think it's probably the 2 pound allowance, but I can't tell. And does anyone know how much the 2 pound extra weight cut takes out of your fighter?
  22. I recently moved my 145er Sean Rodey (1595) to 155 for a fight. I got his weight up to 160 on some gainer. When I look at him on the matchup tool on VIP it shows he can make weight if his stamina reaches 97 percent. But when I look at the energy VIP tool it shows he can only cut to around 147. Can someone help me out by confirming this, or letting me know what the deal is? I heard if your weight the day of the fight is two pounds off you can shed the two for a hefty fee statwise. Is this what it means on the binoculars VIP tool? Help would be appreciated.
  23. Citing Torres' interview Rodey had this to say- "Torres is right about finishing fights, he's quite proficiant at it. Infact he finished 3 fighters with 0-0 records and one with an 0-4 record. He beat em all in a row. That fight finishing streak started after Torres already had 3 fights in his career. Seriously, how many world class fights has he had? I wouldn't count Lao after his 2 fight losing streak and comeback against an 0-0 fighter. So How many? 2? I've been fighting world class competition since my debut in Synchronicity. I've beaten 2 LW champs and 2 FW champs if you count the late Jackson Robinson. 7 of my fights have been at a world class level, and all but two of them have been against contenders. Kid can go play in his sandbox talkin about leftovers." Rodey also said off camera that the only reason Torres was allowed in the QFC was because he "went down on a Mongolian with connections."
