  1. Ahsan Hamed

Reporter: Hello folks, we're here again in lovely Manchester with the local fighting superstar the 2-time and current Omega Fighting Featherweight champion Ahsan Hamed. Welcome Ahsan.

Ahsan: (shakes hand) Thank you Dave, for inviting me into your evening talk show.

Reporter: So, how are you doing, Ahsan? How's your personal life and your career going?

Ahsan: It has been amazing, I have recently proposed to my girlfriend, and we have moved into a nice cosy house to live together instead of living in the flat. Nothing too big, 3 rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a small garden. We've also bought a dog, a german shepherd to be exact, so now I'm living a nice and warm family life. As for my career - I'm awaiting for the biggest fight of my life, waht could be better?

Reporter: Congratulations to you for proposing to your girlfriend. Oh, and about the fight - who and when are you fighting next Ahsan?

Ahsan: My next fight will occur at November 27th against the current Omega Fighting Lightweight champion Morrison Lee.

Reporter: No wonder you said it's the biggest fight of your life - even I know who Morisson Lee is! He is 11-0, he's undefeated!

Ahsan: Yes, you are correct. The fight is also for the Lightweight title, so, when I win this, I'll be holding two world titles in Omega Fighting. I don't see Morrison as a huge threat actually. Yes, he's a challenge, he's very well-rounded and has great BJJ, but we have studied him with the coaches, made a specific gameplan, even trained specifically for this fight - I've became a part of a new gym run by my manager, and we have trained specifically for this opponent. Morrison is good, but these days are over.

Reporter: - Alright, it was nice having a chat with you Ahsan, hopefully, you'll bring that belt here to Manchester and make us proud again! This has been Dave's evening talk show, thank you all for watching!

  2. 1. Does a fighters weight class determine his hiddens? Does a heavyweight have more chance of popping KO power?

    2. What is the best weight class and why?

    3. I've heard that KO power can be popped later in a fighters career, is this true and if so what determines this?

    4. Ground game - if I have a sprawl and brawler what is more important Def Grappling, Transitions or Escapes? I know all 3 but what would the priority be?.

    5. What is the best stick to position for a BJJ fighter who wants to sub someone?

    Thanks

    1. Already answered, no.

    2. I like fighting with lighter weight fighters myself, because there's less of a chance that you'll lose by a lucky punch. It is extremely hard (for me) to breed an undefeated higher weight class fighter because the lucky punch factor is just bigger.

    3. Strenght adds some to your KO power hidden, but at the higher levels most guys have Sensational-Elite physicals, so KO power hidden is what usually makes the difference.

    4. It depends on your style of fighting on the ground. It's kinda like saying would you give priority to Kicks or Punches in standup. I'd probably go high on escapes because with the current system they are nerfed so that they have the most benefits of all three mentioned here.

    5. I'd say just work on passing the guard and lessening the chances of getting submitted yourself. The submission from you will come eventually, regardless of position.

    Ahsan Hamed (8-4)

    (8 KO/TKO)

    Former ROV Lightweight champion

    Former Omega Fighting Featherweight champion

Interviewer: Today, well be having a chat with a rising fighter from our beloved Manchester - Ahsan "The Emperor" Hamed. Nice to meet you, Ahsan.

Ahsan: Nice to meet you too, Dave!

Dave: I saw an article about you in a newspaper and thought you are quite an interesting fighter with some nice achievements on this young age. Me and the fellas watching this on TV are really interested in how you got to the point you are now, as a fighter. Where have you found your love for the sport, and how did this all begin?

Ahsan: What kind of article was it? I'm quite a self-loving person, I'd like to see the stuff they write about me as well! (laughs) Umm, where did this all began... Actually, my beginnings are not that spectacular, probably 60% of fighters began their careers this way - I was a skinny 13 year old boy with an attitude and no ability to back up the shit I talk (laughs). So, after a few encounters with the guys I didn't really liked I've decided I need to do something else after school than just float around the streets of Manchester with my friends (smiles). I had a classmate who was doing Karate and soon enough, I appeared to be standing next to him in the dojo in front of my first Karate instructor.

Dave: But here we are now, and you're a mixed martial arts competitor. How come it so that you ended up fighting in the cage instead of fighting on the tatami?

Ahsan: When I was 15, a guy that was doing MMA came to our dojo for some additional training, as he was preparing to fight some guy who had a Karate base, so he needed a sparring partner. It was summer, so most guys we're having fun, skipping a lot of sessions and stuff, and there was only 5-7 guys in the dojo each session. Not much to choose from, so, as I was weighing around 130-135, and the MMA guy was fighting for Flyweight, the coach decided I could do a few rounds with him. We got along quite well, and I was amazed by what he can do to me during sparring. Of course, I was catching him sometimes with some unexpected kicks from Karate, some Bruce Lee shit, you know? (laughs) But once he got near me, I'd get flattered by a controlled flurry of punches, or sent flying with a takedown, and that would make me feel like a bum. I got hooked with MMA, so... When I became 16, I made the transition and went where my heart led.

Dave: And there your MMA career began - you have secured 5 knockout wins in a row under the banner of ROV and won ROV Lightweight Title.

Ahsan: Fuck, those were the days.. (laughs) I'll be honest - I have absolutely cleaned the division there and there was no legit contender left for me. WIth the money I made in my early career, I started a business, I now own a food truck which is selling kebabs, burgers and all that shit I shouldn't be eating (laughs). By the way, best burgers in Manchester, I swear to god, if you're watching this show, you must go and try them out. You'll swallow your own tongue! I demand all the viewers to pack their shit up right after this show ends and flock to Hamed's Street Food as quickly as possible! (laughs) Enough of advertising my business, let's continue on advertising me (Dave laughs). I went to other organizations looking for the pot of gold, and I went up to fight a champion of some other organisation, Vinny Bronson, an undefeated submission artist. He was the Welterweight champion back then, but I could care less - I went for a superfight, and, badly, I got submitted quickly. I went on to Primal to lose to some hillbilly in there, and I was in rage. There came the decision to come back to ROV and defend my belt for the second time since a new legit contender arose, and guess fucking what - he submitted me in the first as well. This is where it got to me that BJJ is a part of MMA as well you know (laughs) A bit too late, wasn't it, Dave? (laughs)

Dave: And then came the 3 fight win streak in which you became the Omega Fighting Lightweight champion?

Ahsan: Yeah, I decided I need to switch to Lightweight, because I felt I had a bit more of a speed advantage there. None of these guys fucking bothered me there - I butchered all of them by KO, and went my way. It's kind of like the belt was on the table, I just had to stop wanking, get of the fucking couch, walk to the table and strap it on me. The only guy I thought could give me problems was Vyrkyx Dall, and, to be honest, he did. He submitted me in my last fight and took my belonging. After that, he vacated the belt, and here we are - I'm fighting for the belt in my next fight.

Dave: And how do you feel about this opportunity to redeem yourself?

Ahsan: It's a nice feeling, no matter what anyone else says. Dall went running, and it's not my concern to try to catch him there. If he does as good as me, we'll be at the pinnacle of our division, and we'll meet again. As of now, I'm focused on regaining the title and seeing to what kind of big fights it leads me to.

Dave: What are your plans for the future?

Ahsan: Get known, get rich, get every achievement possible in MMA, and leave MMA as the greatest inspiration for others. Right now, in my plans I have a mission to become the Trinity World Featherweight and Lightweight champion of the world. I believe it's the #1 organisation in there, and that is where I will reside in the near future.

Dave: We're out of time, any lats words for the fans?

Ahsan: Right after you stopped chumping on my delicious burgers, go to the betting station and put your fucking house, wife and children on me. There's never been a safer bet than that - I'll reclaim the belt in extraordinary fashion. Tune in and watch the motherfucker get murdered in the cage on October 15th, folks!

  4. What I do is this - I make fighter's natural weight exaclty how his limit should be. For example - If I want a Middleweight, I make him 185, Featherweight - 145 and so on. From what I've witnessed, it doesn't matter if you're a striker or a grappler, you need to be faster.

Grappler - faster means that you'll land takedowns easier AND it will be easier to counter slower (heavier, less speed having) fighter. Counter takedowns will work well.

Striker - again, counters. If you're faster, you'll get countered fewer times, and you'll be able to counter your slower opponent's much more often. If you want power, even being slimmer helps, because counters are much more powerful than ordinary strikes - a legit counter head kick rocks your opponent 60 of the time (depends on opponents chin, your ko power and strenght (if head kick also flexibility)).

I have an examples of my fighter that is a striker and worked well with counters.

    Roger Pott (has 15 speed)

  5. I noticed that almost all of the technique videos you posted are dealing enitrely with just pure stand up. Have you considered doing techinical breakdowns of the ground game? Guys like Demian Maia or Jacare Souza? They have very specific techiniques the go to over and over that nobody really can really stop. Ditto for GSP as well.

I understand why you posted the Bob Sapp video and KO's bring in numbers but you run the risk of being taken less seriously in your actual analysis videos. But if you are going to do it then do a breakdown along with it. like this video by Lawrence Kenshin.

Well, to be honest, I have a much deeper knowledge of striking (compared to grappling), this is probably why I notice technical striking instead of technical grappling. But don't get me wrong, I havecsome experience in rolling as well, and we will do a breakdown of it! :)
  6. Hey man, I did Japanese MMA called Kudo for 4 years (it's MMA with a gi), and I competed in Amateur Kickboxing, I have a (3-3) record in there. Also, my friend did Kudo for 2 years as well. We are very big fans of all kind of fight sports and through these years I believe that my knowledge of combat sports has expanded widely.

Thank you for the kind word about Conor's video! :) About Bob Sapp... You know, it's a popular video that is bringing some kind of fanbase and money for us so we could start off, so we uploaded it. You know, even if we created extremely good videos - if there was no audience, they would not spread and we couldn't expand. Videos like these get us noticed because they get lots of views.

Hello everyone that has gathered here and welcome to the first ever Unity press conference. My name is Rain Thunder, and I am the vice president of this new organisation. Here I would like to announce the opening of our organisation, in which the best 280k ID fighters will gather from all around the world. We're looking for talents everywhere - in all parts of the world, Brazilian favelas, African slums... MMA is a sport, and sport unites the world. This is what Unity is all about.

Our main goal is to become home for the world's biggest and shiniest prospects, while being good ambassadors for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts. Any questions from the media?

Q: Since the president of Unity, Mister Worldwide, is running the organisation, are you going to do any kind of business now yourself?

A: Yes, I will be opening a Unity Clothing store, and hope it will become one the elite brands. We've got some ideas of nice designs, as well as creating custom apparel for Unity champions.

Q: What will be the weight restrictions and the weightclasses?

A: Our organisations ID restriction among all weightclasses is 280k+. We've decided we don't want to give up our belts so easily, and we want our divisions to be deep and solid, with at least 20 active participants amongst every division. This is why we're starting with only 3 weightclasses, to get them filled with talent and then move on to others. So the first three weightclasses active now are Lightweight (155), Middleweight (185) and Heavyweight (265). Also, even if you are a Featherweight (145), Welterweight (170) or Light Heavyweight (205), I still think it's worth considering fighting a division higher.

Q: Since the opening of Unity, how big is the interest in the organisation?

A: Many people have not heard about it yet, and I believe that conferences like this are helping to spread the word. The interest is pretty much what we've expected - at this moment we have just 6 fighters that have signed the paperwork to work for us, but I believe it's normal since people are hesitant to join an organisation with only 6 fighters in it. Nothing to worry about, since we have sent contracts to over 70 fighters right now, and we're waiting for the responses.

Q: Finally, I am very interested in this - as the Island is coming to an end, it seems that the ID restriction of 280k fits these fighters perfectly - are you going to sign Island fighters if they continue their careers in Tycoon after it?

A: Of course. We even have a special amount of money saved up just for "Island Fighters". All of the guys in there are self-made men, since they had no help from the outer world to establish themselves, and that makes all of them tough. We're eagerly waiting for the end of season, and we're gladly inviting those fighters to join our ranks. Unity will ensure fair matchups for these guys like no other organisations, because our deeply talented divisions will have plenty of opponents and matchups to choose from.

Q: Thank you for your time.

A: No problem. As our time is up, I announce the end of this press conference. Anyone interested in working with us and fighting for us - contact either me (Rain Thunder) or the organisation's president (Mister Worldwide).

    END OF PRESS CONFERENCE

  9. I really need someone to make me two avatars fast. I would like these to really good and professional, this is why I'm willing to pay 80k for both of them, transfer fees covered by me.

With some kind of original flashy gif effect :D

    And this one:

    http://www1.cdn.sherdog.com/image_crop/200/300/_images/fighter/20130716020258_frankie_edgar.JPG

Full pic, with all the shorts and stuff :)

  10. I also believe that we should add these skills to the clinch - Clinch Takedowns, or just call them Throws/Trips to look nicer :D But about the second takedown defense thing... IDK, it has it's own advantages but I believe that it's better to make another skill called Clinch Transitions and add transitions in the clinch, like on the ground.

Let's say I'll give an evaluation of every position and what you could do in it.

Thai clinch - 5/5 for throwing knees and a 3/5 for trips.

Over Under - 3/5 for knees, 4/5 for trips and throws.

Double Underhook - 1/5 for knees, 5/5 for trips and throws.

Back - 1/5 for knees, 5/5 for trips and throws.

I also believe that throws from Over Under, Double Underhook and Back should have some power in them - with these it should be easier to get Slam KO's and, it could be made so that high amplitude throws and slams take away some energy from the victim because of the "crssh landing" for example :) It could be measured by the level of Trips/Throws, for example, a guy with Sensational Trips/Throws should have a reasonably high, let's say 10% chance to at least get another fighter rocked with a slam if the other guy has lets say Abysmal Takedown defense. And, if the difference between skills is so big, it should also take away quite a lot of stamina from the victim, based on the attackers strenght, balance, and trips and throws skill.

    Just food for thought :)

  11. I have suggested it before, and I'll try to bring that up again. We should make physicals able to be trained up to 20 (let's say World-Class) instead of 15 (Elite). It happens in real life as well, so it's realistic, some fighters are exceptional for their physical abilities. For example:

Anthony Johnson - incredible power and speed combination, really differs from whole division.

Junior Dos Santos - incredible speed for a heavyweight, fastest hands in heavyweight.

Nick Diaz/Nate Diaz/Cain Velasquez - best cardio in their divisions, period. In MMATycoon pretty much everyone is at Elite conditioning.

Stephen Thompson - Flexibility and Agility. His leg dexterity is amazing, he can easily throw KO kicks with his front leg.

TJ Dillashaw/Dominick Cruz/Demetrious Johnson - World class agility and footwork.

Conor McGregor - agility, balance. Insane movement on the feet.

Johny Hendricks - insanely powerful, especially left hand.

  12. 1. Please add title fight icons to title fights in KT records.

    2. For org owners - when I'm in Fighter List + and I choose to rank fighters by their Kickboxing hype and stuff, could you make it so that I could see their KT records, not overall records? :)
