  1. Hi guys; I have another in depth preview for you all; today I will be looking at a Light Heavyweight Championship match in SP ICON 2.0 (300K), in what is by far the biggest fight to take place in the org, since its reset to 300k back in September. The fight will take place between two undefeated Light Heavyweights; the Champion Jonas Lofmark (300290) and promotional newcomer Jimmy Ryan (300084). Both fighters are undefeated; both are explosive, so somebodys O has got to GO, and the losers O will likely be ripped away extremely violently. When is it? 14th January 2017 Where is it? HILO The event name? ROTR Semi Finals 205 Where can you find it? http://www.mmatycoon.com/eventcommentary.php?EvtID=876982 Background: This fight will feature 2 young stud fighters who have been completely dominant in drastically different ways over the course of their careers so far. Well start with the challenger: http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14718725516634.png Jimmy Ryan Record: 6-0 6 TKO/KOs 0 Submissions 0 Decisions Losses: 0 Accomplishments: Undefeated in MMA. He has finished all of his opponents. The challenger in this fascinating bout; Jimmy Ryan is as much a gentle giant outside the cage as he is a killing machine inside it. His manager NorthernNinjas/DrOctagon has always spoken of him as a very respectable personality. After SP ICON owner Chael Mir suggested that Jimmy Ryan have a trash talk battle with Aylib 2.0 fighter Pollo Tropical (301419) he gave an incredible answer; I understand that the hype game is part of MMA and I have no issue with this. But honestly; I am devoting my whole career to the memory of my inspiration, Ryan Jimmo. Jimmo was always respectful and I strive to be the same way. So I would rather earn my way to a title shot with my skills, and likeability. It has worked a treat, he has now built a serious following in the 300k scene due to his refreshing humility and violent finishing ability. Fans in HILO clamoured to see him face Lofmark, so now he has his shot. As a fighter; Jimmy Ryan is a decent boxer who excels in the clinch as well, his biggest strength is that while not necessarily the most technical striker, he is a savage brute of a man with insane one punch stopping power. He is able to bully opponents in the clinch; or shut their lights out from boxing distance, and he looks equally comfortable doing both. He has flattened every opponent he has fought; the only adversity he has faced is when he and boxing specialist Tony Stark had an extremely close battle in the first round, with Ryans punching power eventually making the difference and he scored the knockout victory. He has never been taken down; so we have never seen his ground game, but if its anything like his stand up game, everybody in SP ICONs 205 division is in serious trouble! http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/17/17w22.jpg Jonas Lofmark Record: 4-0 Wins: 2 TKO/KOs 1 Submissions 1 Decisions Losses: 0 Accomplishments: Undefeated in MMA. SP ICON Light Heavyweight Champion (1 defence) The stone faced Swede Jonas Lofmark has taken the SP ICON Light Heavyweight division by storm following his arrival. The way he coldly stares his opponents out is as thrilling as it is terrifying. Lofmark has decimated his competition in a number of ways; a decorated amateur wrestler, he earned GNP stoppages after takedowns against Joey Karate and Evan Zoplias, finishing them both before the 2 minute mark. He has also dominated Anthony Johnson a Brown Belt in BJJ, on the ground, passing the guard and landing ground and pound throughout the fight, after stuffing Johnsons takedowns, he landed his own with ease. He has displayed finishing ability both through strikes and submissions, as he knocked former champion I Am Terrible down with a huge right hand, before passing his guard and submitting him quickly afterwards. Lofmark has shown himself to be dominant against his opposition; so much so that not one of his opponents has landed a strike on him in any of his fights. Lofmark keeps adding new wrinkles to his game as he looks better and better every fight. In his last fight; he fought Evan Zoplias; who was expected to cause Lofmark problems in the clinch, but Lofmark shook his clinch off and dumped him straight on his head. Lofmark has yet to face any true adversity inside the cage, and that is what makes this fight so compelling; two undefeated fighters who are bound to test each other in ways they have not been tested before. Bleacher Report Style Head to Toe Breakdown Striking: Every fight starts on the feet and so will we in the head to toe breakdown. Jonas Lofmark is a decent boxer; but wont set the world alight with his technique any time soon. However; what he does have is serious power in his hands, and no-one he has faced has proved capable of withstanding that power. Anthony Johnson is known for having a granite chin; and Lofmark knocked him down in the first 30 seconds of their fight. Defensively the champion has been excellent; as no-one has hit him in any of his fights, this may be due to him finishing the early and grappling with them of course. Jimmy Ryan also has incredible touch you and you fall type power in his hands; however he is from a kickboxing background, which has allowed him to become well versed in clinch fighting, adding some diversity to his game; it has been speculated that Ryan may be more effective if he threw more knees and elbows in the clinch, and this may be the case, however he seems to be doing alright so far. The edge in this one is not as easy as might have been suggested; Lofmark has hellish power, and he could find Ryans chin in this fight, however his opponents diversity; and the fact that Jimmy Ryan has knocked all his foes out swing the vote in favour of the challenger. This along with his proven ability to mix punches in close in the clinch and from a distance, mean he has a significant edge here. Advantage: Jimmy Ryan Wrestling: Easily the most lopsided category of the bunch; as Jonas Lofmark was a very successful amateur wrestler in the NCAA; and it has translated beautifully into his MMA game. He has shown an excellent takedown game both in his shots and from in the clinch, boasting 100% takedown success rate in his MMA career so far. He has also been stellar defensively; when Anthony Johnson shot in, he was unsuccessful, none of his other opponents have even tried. Jimmy Ryan is hard to gauge in the wrestling department; because none of his opponents have ever shot in on him. He is a good athlete, so there is every chance he may have a decent sprawl, hell certainly need it in this fight. He has never attempted a takedown either, so there is no doubt the edge will go with the champion, who will certainly look to test how big the gap is come Saturday night. Advantage: Jonas Lofmark Ground Game/Submissions: Now while fighters coming out of both Whites ELITE fitness gym and True North Fight Team have praised Ryans ground game profusely, the truth is, we have not seen it inside the cage. None of his fights have been to the ground; once again, he has been so dominant, but all of his opponents have opted to strike with him. He may very well have a great ground game but we cant judge what we havent seen. Lofmarks top game is savage; his opponents dont typically tend to last long once he puts them down. He has powerful ground and pound, excellent control, and he even showed some submission ability in his title win against former champ I am Terrible. This category may very well be closer than expected; but Lofmark has showed an ability to impose his will on the ground which simply has to give him the nod over Ryan here. Advantage: Jonas Lofmark Keys To Victory - Jimmy Ryan: Takedown Defence: This one is very simplistic; but that doesnt make it any less true, Ryan has to stop the early shot from Lofmark in order to stand a chance. I hope hes been training this in the Gym because if he hasnt, it will be a short night, and not in a good way. Use Power Striking: Just as Ryans TDD has not been tested; neither has Lofmarks chin. The Swede has never been hit; so if Ryan can light him up with some power shots early, its possible he will fold. Dominate the Clinch: The clinch is one of Ryans biggest strengths; and if he can beat Lofmark up there, it may limit Lofmark to shooting from too far out, which in turn will make it easier for JJimmy Ryan to defend the shots and pick the champion apart. Keys To Victory - Jonas Lofmark: His Chin: He is facing an opponent with serious knockout power; if his chin does not hold up, he is in serious trouble here. He must be able to take at least a couple of big shots, because he may very well get hit here. Back to his Roots: The champ has really been able to showcase his skills as of late, showing knockout power and submissions. In this fight though, he will have to grind, he needs to go back to his wrestling to get this one done. Physical Ability: It is not abundantly clear who is the better athlete of the two men; but if Lofmark turns out to be superior in this area, he could use the clinch to throw Jimmy Ryan onto the ground. Preview and Prediction: Whose undefeated record will fall to this event? And who will advance as the champion of SP ICONs 205lb division? It is likely to be the most competitive fight either man has ever been in. Neither of them has lost a round before; but I think that will change for both fighters in this fight. In the first round; they will both be wary of each others power and ability, they will be patient, possibly even cautious. Eventually Ryan will start connecting with some punches; as Lofmark struggles to find his bearings. I predict Ryan will stop a couple of takedowns, initiate the clinch, and take the round with some more strikes from the inside. In the second round, Lofmark will understand what kind of fight he is in and score a takedown early. Jimmy Ryan will defend well on the ground; but Lofmark will keep control and get his fair share of strikes in. In the third round both men will come out swinging; both landing their fair share in some good exchanges, until Jonas Lofmark takes advantage of the chaos and gets another takedown. With both men tired; Ryan will struggle to contain him this time, and Lofmark will use his ground and pound to soften the challenger up before passing guard and securing a tight choke to go to 5-0! And Still.. Jonas Lofmark via Submission (Round 3)
