  1. I was wondering how you guys like to use this slider. More specifically, say you have a striker vs. grappler scenario. Either you're the striker (with horrible def. grappling) and worry about being taken down, or you're the grappler (with horrible striking defense) and don't want to trade punches any more than you have to. Do you think it is better to go in aggressively to get the TKO/takedown as quickly as possible, or to be cautious and hope to get the TKO/takedown with counters?
  2. Takedowns and counters are being discussed a lot right now, so I figured I'd throw this out there... If we select "allow opponent takedowns", I think the takedown should be much more likely to end up in guard than it would have otherwise. It seems analogous to pulling guard and may already be implemented, but I haven't seen any evidence one way or the other. Also...I'm not sure how it would work exactly, but it would be cool if allowing takedowns gave you a chance to counter/sweep immediately. (kind of like what Korean Zombie did to Dustin Poirier or Anderson Silva did to Nate Marquardt) or lock in a sub immediately since you often see fighters accept and/or counter takedowns while attempting guillotines, kimuras, etc.

    Counter fighter

I was wondering what makes a good counter fighter. What edge should you have to successfully employ the counter slider against someone? I know speed and striking defence play a good role. What else? Also, some dudes in the beginning have "counter fighter" written on the tale of the tape. Does that mean they're quick? or something else?
