  1. Somebody in a forum said that "Big Heart" decreases the chance of fighters to get Granite Chins. They claimed it weakens the other Hidden skills. Is There any truth to that??? The hidden attributes are supposed to be completely random & selecting a skill is just supposed to boost That Skill. I'm sure the Tycoon Veterans know the truth though.
  2. Hey there, I think the hidden skills need revamping. The reason is, most people pick the same things. Virtually all standpup guys pick KO power + Chin + Heart/Confidence/Learning if young. And they should, it is the right choice. For ground guys, it makes sense to pick chin + maybe experience or intelligence as that plays a bigger role on the ground. Basically: all standup guys pick the same hiddens, but the ground guys are more varied, although not terribly. Skills like injury proneness and cuts are virtually never picked, because it isn't worth it to pick them. I popose a new hidden skill system, with new skills: I would keep these as they are: KO power Chin Intelligence Experience Heart Confidence Fast learner These I would add: Tough Elusive Athletic Primal instinct Shit talker Tough - Slighly better chin, but only by 1-2 percent. - Higher ability to take punishment to the body. - Slight overall advantage deeper into the fight, with many strikes landed, higher ability to fight through bad situations. - Morale drops less easy. - Less injuries less cuts. (I would bring those two hidden under "tough"). Tough guys have tough skin, right? =) Elusive - Is able to move with the punches in ways that average strikers can't. This applies particularly to single punches, not combinations or kicks. - Gives a slight advantage when fighting submissions, as that ability to be "slippery" will do that. - Has no effect on wrestling or GnP whatsoever. - Works defensively. - Could have a built in "times", as you sacrifice balance when doing this. Say once every 15 seconds, you can "move" with a punch, reducing damage. - Ability goes away completely when hurt or tired, as oppose to chin or heart. Athletic - A boost in situations that are very physically demanding. Like double-leg takedown, slams, hip-explosions, , some scrambles, body kicks (less than high kicks), high kicks, and perhaps sprawls (see Anthony Johnsson sprawl and you know what I mean, like Thor dropped down his hammer from the clouds). - This one should also give less injuries, I think. More than toughness, which has a slight effect. Primal instinct - Mostly: Finishing power. - Fighter can go into berserk mode, essentially. - With low int or exp, will punch fighter out often. Spending lots of energy. - Slightly better ability to take punishment, chin and body (not as much as tough for the body, not as much as chin for the chin) Either overall, or punches and kicks don't affect them much when in berserk mode. I like this last option more. Shit talker - Talks shit during weigh-ins and fight. Drops opponents morale and energy, if successful. - The shit talking takes a little energy, too? - Stops working if clearly losing the fight. - Would add GREAT FUN to the flavor text, could even make it dirty if user above 18. You could have the "shit talking" flavor text turn on and off, if you don't want to see it. Or you make it okay for everybody. - Workes better if opponent low confidence. - If value above, say 100, add option of predicting the outcome of the fight, say KO 1st round. If that happens, it drops the opponents confidence by a lot, McGregor style. Last thing: I think there should be an option to click a specific trait more times. First click, 30 point boost, second click, 15 point boost, third click, 10 point boost. Or whatever. Another thing, with these many hiddens, perhaps you get four boosts instead of three.
