Cenobite11
My fighter Rogerio Santos lost his fight today in 9 seconds by ko. I'm more dissapointed by this loss than any of my prior losses. Because I set this guy up so well, he is a brown belt at BJJ, with feeble boxing, I made him have respectable punching and strike defense, made him have a granite chin, natural ko power. Basically anything he was lacking in pedigree, I made up for in paripherals. Basically hoping for a sick BJJ guy, with hidden boxing gifts. This fight I figured since my opponent is strong boxing and white belt BJJ, I would put my sliders mostly on counter, 1/4 takedowns, and all punching, hoping this guy would come in all aggressive and wild, so I could counter with a takedown, or some punches. boy was I wrong, I didn't even stand a chance. Sucks when your expectations are high for a fighter, and they lose like that.
PBR
yea but just work with the sliders some -- i mean 9 secs doesnt tell you anything about him really just watch the counter slider -- you too much counter then you never pull off a move
DougSupreme
don't get down on Rogerio. Sometimes these things just happen. I have high expectations for him and expect to see him challenging for the title in a few fights.
Guest
It happens. Although I would recommend getting the fight to the ground ASAP, rather than counter, if you are a brown belt and he is white.
