It's kind of entertaining but Joe's theories are only interesting to me as a kind of psychological study on why some people gravitate towards things which are overtly crazy, when in reality, reality is much more intesting and crazy when you scratch under the surface. I think at the end of the day, he's just viscerally uncomfortable with being conformist. youre almost trolling ... arent you like 30? how do you know so much? (to troll back with a Joe Rogan quote ) .. ok ill bite ^^ he talks a lot of nonsense? who doesnt. it takes a lot of practice though to not take yourself (your own processor [created by your environment & experiences & access to things etc.] that processes all the things for you basically) so serious and Joe does a solid job at it, especially considering how well hes playing some of the games that are around ... the capitalist game, the social game etc. only interesting to you for your psychological studies? arrogant ;P .. youre post is far from having the perfect POVs for other peoples minds/reality-processors as well. your post is interesting for my & other peoples studies .. as is anything, anybody says & does. anything that is put out there is analyzed for all the little studies .... in my opinion some of your observations about Joe are false and you put him into many categories he cant possibly live up to. Joe doesnt wanna be a conformist? he tries not to be a conformist? hes obviously pretty open minded and doesnt easiely settle for one view, if theres alternatives that also make sense on whatever level. having an open mind is one of the most important keys to find whatever. his chosen profession demands that he looks from unusual, uncomfortable, even what some would call crazy angles at things. i for one fully support looking at things from as many angles as possibles. im having a hard time imagining otherwise that well ever get rid of this ridiculous alpha / beta .. wolf / sheep garbage. you wanna talk about intelligence ... i hope we have enough of that, time & potential to get past that. reality is much more interesting when you scratch under the surface? of course and thats what people who are interested in the world & universe like to do. usually the people i got to know who are into fantasizing, talking big & small and going deep, are also in awe of reality & what we have right in front of us as well. everybody views reality a bit different as it is and some like to go off and see how far they can take it in their head, since there is a looooot of room for fantasy, because we have so much inspiration from the huge amount of things that are allready explained, yet we have explained so little compared to whats out there. we still have a lot to figure out and we must use both our left and right brain. golden middle is where the cake is. like in mma-tycoon ..... aggressive |------------|-----------| counter ... cant go wrong with the middle - unless its an absolute-slider ^^ just saying .. its remarkable how often the middle between two extremes is the most sense-making answer. If intelligent life from another planet saw earth, they'd see intelligent life on earth (us). thats an example of how cock-sure you sound during a lot of your post. how can you be so sure? do you view tigers as intelligent? how do you know that some tiger doesnt do some stupid shit on purpose sometimes? well ok maybe a tiger doesnt ^^ .. doing stupid shit on purpose even though one knows better sounds pretty human-exclusive, which makes us look so so dumb & evil when viewed from a distance in this transition-period of evolution. the golden middle for us would be to have as much fun as possible, while keeping everybody & our host in good mind. everything is connected. arent we more like here: advance, take chances, be ruthless, party hard, kill for temporary profit |------|---------------| dont advance, have fun with the basics, be nice, live in harmony with nature & only take the utmost essentials right. stupid example. mma-tycoon inspired me, i took it somewhere else ... is it nonsense? sure ... but whats nonsense to one is useful to another mans/womans processor ... whole ways of thinking can change with the right combo of input. imho its good when the mind is like water, when it can accept new things and throwing old things away since were & everything is going so fast. youre completely right that theres a flood of info .. and a flood of ways, but its tricky for anybody to just be sure what is right & wrong. theres no grown ups, nobody that has all the answers. collectivly as the human race we havent even scratched the surface yet. imho having endless questions & being ok with never knowing the whole truth but yet striving for it is a good way to have. out of necessity if nothing else ^^ how do you know what kind of aliens are out there and howd they view us? the only things thats pretty sure is that theyd be pretty different from us, smarter and/or dumper on different levels .. maybe theyd be just dumper as far as having fun. maybe theyd view us as food, energy, toys or dumb/intelligent friends or just blow us up because they can. who knows. you cant say that you know. every day theres something happening and/or new discoveries or theories where one can go holy shit. a lot got done with the power of imagination in science, so i dunno why youd find it interesting to weird that people like to come up with their own stuff or think about possibilities and crazy shit and whatnot .. since, really ... what isnt crazy? what we experience with our limited senses on this planet is insanely crazy, let alone what happens out there in space or in our heads. like i said earlier in this thread, if you dont consider yourself & your suroundings crazy, youre crazy. i dont see many things with confidence, but that i do. now ill press post and this post will be judged and therefor i will be judged .. kinda scary ... someone sitting somwhere in the world with another type of processor judging me .. but nothing comes from saying nothing and thinking nothing around here. internet is like a huge giant unconscious brain. may the big wolfs never take it away from us. i dont know if i have a point .. maybe why look weird at someone else for being different? if anything we should be nicer to each other, "we'll" have enough time being super-smart when were robots or when our brains are on harddrives or even connected to the universe in ways we cant imagine yet. but expect no mercy when the shit hits the fan *knows how to make a crappy bow & arrows* 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm not at all convinced of that, it depends entirely on how developed this other life form is. It's possible that they look at us as parasites, a simple life form consuming a rich planet full of resources. Humans are not evolving in a more intelligent species. We slowly are getting more knowledgeable, but we're not getting any more intelligent. We've grown past the point were natural and sexual selection gives an advantage to anybody who's more than averagely intelligent. The only way a species can get extremely smart is by eugenics. It's something we despise and see as immoral, but species from another planets that have embraced this way of selection would get more intelligent fast, to a point were ours is negligible. I don't think a species like that would look at us much differently than we look at monkies or maybe even ants. We're more intelligent than all of all species on this planet, but God knows how many there are the universe who are the same or far past us. Religion, individual culture, individual nations, etc. These things that people praise will most likely lead to the Human race's eventual extinction. most likely ... at the end of time ...though time itself is pretty debatable still ... if the other 5000 things that could kill the humans and / or the earth havent hit till then ... but till then humans could potentially break down quite some walls. as of right now were not really built for space exploration ... but some scientists suggest that an intelligence-singularity could be just a mere few decades away and when you hear about the breakthroughs with graphene etc. it sounds within the possibilities. with insane computer-power and maybe a sickly awesome enegery-source humans / what becomes of humans / A.I. / machines / whatever combination .. could do some damage in the universe and even spread rather rapidly and open doors that we cant open from here. oooor we connect everybody and all tab into each other brains, become one giant brain, light some fire under the earths ass and float away from the sun so she doesnt eat us up and explode on our ass ... and then go troll other planets ;P ... 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
