Guest
http://img197.imageshack.us/img197/3194/vfcbanner3.jpg Vicious Fighting Championships have a history of producing excellent tournaments and now they aim to bring some entertainment to the Tycoon World with the European Premier League! You will fight every week. With injuries. With low energy. With cuts. It'll be a WAR! 14 managers have entered a fighter to take part in a league format which will last for 17 weeks. The fighters will fight every single one of the other fighters, a total of 13 fights. Afer the 13 fights, the top 4 point scorers will then face off in the play-offs to determine the winner, with the 1st placed fighter fighting the 4th placed with the 2nd and 3rd facing off. The European Premier League is Openweight Fights will be 2 x 5 minute rounds and scored using the 10 point must system. Winning a fight by stoppage = 3 points Winning a fight by decision = 2 points Drawing a fight = 1 point Losing a fight = 0 points The semi-finals and final will be 3x5 minute rounds. Prizes 1st: $250,000 Everyone else: $0 Entrants 1. Jussi Ahma 2. Gregoire Lefevre 3. Lewis Tshuhsima 4. Vik Baeng 5. Max McRiot 6. Marcelo Gracie 7. Jeremy Foster 8. Kung Lai 9. Hans Arne Georgsen 10. Leroy Rammell 11. Raoul Duke 12. Mike Barnes 13. Mauro Gomes 14. James Bomb Additional Notes: If at any time a fighter has to pull out of the competition (through inactivity etc) then a replacement will be sought who will take over the exiting fighters points and complete their fixtures. If a replacement cannot be found then all previous fights involving that fighter will be voided and all uncompleted fixtures will not be completed. Ties in the league will be split by the head-to-head record. If this does not separate the ties, then the fighters will be ordered by most stoppage wins. If again the fighters cannot be split then the 'quickest stoppage victory' will separate them.

Just so I can see if any contracts are due up Hey Mike, thanks for the interest but we're full up, I had an interest thread and this is now the official thread with all the details for the fighters. repe
Great! But I think that playoff- and final fights should also be fought at the one week period. ( Whith cuts, injuries and everything...) Same concept trough the tourney. -Zeneral

Guest
Vicious FC continues their tradition of putting on outstanding tournaments with differing concepts when the European Premier League kicks off this coming Monday night. It features 14 fighters all aiming for the $100k prize, but to win that prize they face a tough battle. The fighters face a minimum of 13 fights, fighting each week against each of the other competitors. Points are scored based on their performance with a league table separating the best from the rest. The top 4 at the end of the 13 fights face an anxious play off schedule to determine the winner. Fighting weekly isn't recommended by many in the Tycoon world but the exciting concept has attracted some high quality fighters and managers. An early inspection of the field shows that any number of guys can win this thing. The highest ranked fighter in the competition is Lewis Tshushima and he is certainly amongst the favourites with him coming from the notable Big Boss camp but he has negatives on his side in that he's a natural LHW and stands at only 6feet. Only a matter of time will show if his quality can overcome his lack of size. The field is very striker heavy and it is the opinion of many that that plays into the hands of supreme grapplers Max McRiot and Marcelo Gracie. They fight for two of the top grappling managers in the game in the shape of Bradley Burns and ChuckW94 and if they get these strikers to the ground then it'll be short nights for everyone. McRiot alone has a massive 14 submission wins in his 27 career fights. The top strikers in the competition seem to be Mauro Gomes, who is a supreme boxer, and Kung Lai, who is a feared Muay Thai artist who has came out of retirement especially for this tournament. Gomes is a beast at 320lbs and heads the betting market for this event, he definately looks the man to beat. Other notable strikers come in the shape of Vik Baeng and Raoul Duke, both have experience and a load of KOs on their side and will give anyone problems. One of the most interesting stories of the competition is the entry of Mike Barnes. Barnes is a natural featherweight, that's right, 145lbs, and will be taking on beasts that are twice his size. The sheer bravery of the man needs applauded. Barnes is no newcomer to the VFC however as he fought 12 times for the organisation as well as competing in the first Vicious Project Fighter tournament. Barnes is definately the fans' favourite going into the European Premier League. There are a number of experienced guys filling out the 14 spots with Pentti Pena, Jussi Ahma, Hans Arne Georgsen, and Gregoire Lefevre. Of those, Pena is probably the best pick as he possesses the ability to win in a number of ways and the experience to see his way through 13 big fights. Completing the field are two complete unknowns. James Bomb was a last minute entry into the League and with a record of only 3-1 he should struggle to compete with some of these beasts but stranger things have happened. The other fighter has even less experience, none infact, as Leroy Rammell has decided to begin his career in the most explosive of ways. Rumours are that Rammell is an excellent striker but only time will tell if he can challenge. The highlight of week one is definately the striker versus grappler confrontation between Baeng and Gracie. Both fighters are fancied to have a chance of making the top 4 and will be looking to get off to a flying start. Other fights of note see Pena and Gomes face off with favoutite Gomes looking to grab all 3 points with a KO, whilst the 0-0 Rammell gets thrown straight into the fire against 22 fight veteran Raoul Duke. Betting opportunities will become available in the very near future.

MrCee
What an exciting match up coming up next round! Gomes vs Lai, two of the top strikers in the league with Gomes coming in to the fight injured, will he finally meet his match? We shall see... Neither of the guys is not exactly known for their great chin we might well be seeing a knockout here.

MrCee
No knockouts there, you rarely do get em by leg kicks now do ya, eh? Anyways looks like there IS such thing as too much counter.... still throwing ONE body punch is just pathetic! Tried to go a bit heavier on the damage side in order to score a knockout but if you don't even try to throw it's a bit hard Oh well, guess I'm just bitter, congrats to Kung Lai and his team! Gotta add that Max McRiot seems just unbeatable right now!
Guest
For the first time we got a good mix of KOs, subs and decision. The combo led to an exciting card which was enjoyable to read. The feared mass of draws has yet to materialise. There was a huge win for Kung Lai in the main event as Gomes couldn't shrug off his injury. Lai has won all 4 of his fights but still finds himself 3 points behind grappling sensation Max McRiot who has shown he has the GnP to aid his mighty submission game. Elsewhere there was a very important stoppage wins for Tsushima and Gracie whilst James "Bombman" Bomb scored a brutal head kick KO over Lefevre to move into the playoff spots, highly surprising from a fighter who was written off at the start of the tournament. Ahma and Baeng also grabbed victories at event 4 with Baeng getting the maximum 3 points in a clinical display against Rammell. The league table makes for an interesting read, McRiot sits top but there is a big chasing pack and at this early stage of the tournament any fighter can still make the top 4. Max McRiot 12pts Vik Baeng 9pts Kung Lai 9pts James Bomb 7pts -------------------- Marcelo Gracie 7pts Mauro Gomes 7pts Lewis Tsushima 7pts Jussi Ahma 4pts Pentti Pena 3pts Raoul Duke 3pts Mike Barnes 2pts Gregoire Lefevre 1pts Leroy Rammell 0pts Hans Arne Georgsen 0pts And probably the most important news of the evening came after the event when at the press conference Vicious FC owner Scott Campbell announced that the prize money had been increased to a staggering $250k, with the whole sum being awarded to the winner. soyster89
Coming for the top! Nice win Boss No knockouts there, you rarely do get em by leg kicks now do ya, eh? :PAnyways looks like there IS such thing as too much counter.... still throwing ONE body punch is just pathetic! Tried to go a bit heavier on the damage side in order to score a knockout but if you don't even try to throw it's a bit hard Oh well, guess I'm just bitter, congrats to Kung Lai and his team!Gotta add that Max McRiot seems just unbeatable right now! With Gomes being 7'6 and Lai only 5'11, I didn't think it would be appropriate for Kung to bring a ladder into the cage. So yes, leg kicks were the deal of the day. As for the fight, I don't think your counter plans had much to do with Gomes' lack of offense. I think he was extremely injured and could barely move. After all, he gassed after the first strike. Imagine fighting with a broken leg. Think about it - his injury was 15 days, which is a considerably injury.
