Insanity 85: Chu vs. Saades

Los Angeles, Venice Beach (6,500)
May 2nd

Insanity graces the fans of Venice Beach as it breaks out with not one, but two title fights on the card. Both the heavyweight and the light heavyweight champions seek to defend their belts against challengers that could cause serious problems for them. The main event sees new signing, Pika Chu, make his long awaited debut against knockout machine and Colombian superstar, Octavio Saades.

"The Thunderbolt" Pika Chu vs. Octavio Saades – 185lbs

A huge main event as Pika Chu looks to start his Insanity career off on a good note, but to do that he must defeat Muay Thai specialist and heavy hitter, Octavio Saades.

Pika Chu is a new signing to Insanity, he signed a few months ago but has decided to better his skill set in the gym before he takes on Insanity’s finest. He is a very popular fighter, bringing over a legion of fans wherever he fights and part of his popularity is to do with his fight style. He never lets fights go to the judges, and he uses his fantastic boxing ability to overwhelm his opponents. All 14 of his victories are via (T)KO, with 9 of those being clean one hit KO’s. His only weakness may be that he is one dimensional, his opponents know how he fights and how he wins and that is through his punches.. Usually they cannot stop it from happening but a smart opponent with the right skill set could expose this.

Saades is primarily a stand up fighter, with excellent kickboxing skills. His kicks are extremely heavy and can leave his opponents limping if they eat too many of his leg kicks. Winning 4 straight fights, 3 of them he finished via (T)KO, and arguably he could still be undefeated if it wasn’t for a controversial decision loss. With no glaring weaknesses in his game, Chu will have a hard time in planning a game plan to beat this man.

I think this fight may be closer than many think, Saades has never really faced a man with as much power as Chu, and likewise, Chu has never really faced anyone with the diversity of Saades. In the end I believe it will boil down to the kickboxing of Saades winning this fight for him. Expect this to be a dog fight, with both men have their minds set on violence but I expect Saades to get the edge, ibut i would not be surprised if Pika Chu lands one of his haymakers and takes the win.

Prediction: Saades via TKO

Cyril Makarenko vs. Nickey "Mad Man" Spillane – 265lbs TITLE FIGHT

The co main event is a fight for the heavyweight championship, as the champion Makarenko looks to beat Spillane once again. This fight is the rubber match between these two, with both men holding a win over the other.

Makarenko has been with Insanity for a very long time and is now a two time champion. His kickboxing is his main strength, as he often wears opponents down with kicks to the legs and body before throwing his hands to the faces of his foes. During his fights with Spillane, he was the better striker in those fights and in the second fight it was his striking which secured his narrow 48-47 decision win. The first fight with him, Makarenko wasn’t able to land his punches with consistency and Spillane utilised his wrestling to neutrilise Makarenko’s striking game. Throughout his career he has had trouble with high pressure wrestlers, often being taken down in his fights. His ground game Is good enough to avoid most attacks his opponents can throw at him but he is losing points the time he is in the bottom position.

Spillane is an anomaly for a heavyweight fighter in that he does not have blinding KO power like most of the men he fights. He likes to use his striking to set up his takedowns, and once he is on top of his opponents they are hard pressed to stand back up as he stays very active with transitions and his ground and pound, forcing his opponents to go into defensive mode. In the only loss of his career, which was against Makarenko, he was able to snatch two rounds by using his wrestling but Makarenko’s striking proved too much and the judges gave him the decision. Spillane, however, does have one victory against his opponent on the 5th of May, and during their first fight he was able to secure numerous takedowns throughout 5 rounds and during the end he was the clear winner.

The rubber match I think will not be the end of their feud as both are top of the heap fighters. I see this fight playing out similarly to the first two, with Spillane looking for the takedowns and Makarenko looking for opportunities to end the night early. I do, however, think that Spillane may strike a bit more seeing as though that’s what lost him the first fight but sooner or later he will seek the takedown and that’s why I am choosing Spillane to win, simply because he has more tools at his disposal.

Prediction: Spillane via UD

Joey Kocur vs. "Infectious" Agustin Trujillo – 205lbs TITLE FIGHT

Kocur looks to wash away the defeat from his latest superfight with the 185lbs champion by defending his title against the young Trujillo.

Kocur is a bad man. He throws his strikes with bad intentions and with 10 (T)KO wins from 11 overall wins, it’s easy to see why he does it; because it works. His submission game is developing nicely as he recently scored the first submission of his career, meaning his opponents must now fear more than just his strikes. He is mainly a boxer, often throwing a few kicks but he much prefers to punch holes in his opponents. At 23 years of age, he has a tonne of room for development and in each new fight we may see a new wrinkle added to his game.

When I say Kocur is young, Trujillo makes him look like an old man. Trujillo is only 21, yet 3 straight impressive victories brought him to a title shot. Primarily a grappler, but he recently scored his first finish via strikes and is no longer the one dimensional grappler he was. His BJJ remains his strongest aspect of his game, but his Muay Thai is becoming something opponents have to watch out for. Trujillo also fights very smart, rarely wasting too much energy on missed strikes, he conserves his stamina for bursts of attack.

This fight is between two of the best young stars in Insanity today. I expect Trujillo to mix in takedowns to his gameplan and look for Kocur to try and land his heavy punches. As young as Trujillo is, I don’t think he is quite ready for a fight of Kocur’s calibre just yet and I do think Kocur will prove to be too much for him.

Prediction: Kocur via KO

Maurício Aurelio vs. Logan Sackett – 155lbs

Coming over from the now closed SFC, Aurelio looks to prove his worth to the Insanity management team. In his way stands Logan Sackett, a long time Insanity fighter and certainly no easy outing for Aurelio.

Aurelio’s BJJ is very deadly, with 9 submission wins on his record. His boxing is coming along, but he is still prone to being beaten in the stand up so taking fights to the ground remains in his best interest. He has been focusing on his stand up in his more recent fights, but a 1-2 record shows that he is still behind many fighters in his boxing abilities. He may opt to attempt to take this fight to the ground, where he has the distinct advantage.

Sackett is an excellent all round fighter, his stand up is particularly good and he uses that to win most of his fights. He is a former 155 Insanity champion, and is 2-1 since losing his belt. He will have to string together a few impressive wins before he finds himself in the line for another shot at gold. He doesn’t particularly have a weakness, but his takedown defence has been the one place where an opponent may seek to gain an advantage. He lost his title due to the wrestling of his opponent, so maybe he has worked extra hard to improve that hole in his game.

It will be the striking of Sackett against the grappling of Aurelio. I think that Aurelio will win this fight, 1 takedown is all he needs to lock in a submission and he is a hard man to finish off with strikes.

Prediction: Aurelio via submission

Maxwell "Vermelho" Rubin vs. Jingle "Jangle" Jingle – 155lbs

In what should be a great grappling contest, BJJ black belt Rubin looks to prove his worth against former champion and wrestling expert Jingle.

Rubin is an excellent grappler, his 8 wins all of which come from his submission wrestling proficiency prove that on the mat this man is dangerous. His striking is not great, but it serves to keep the opponent from thinking about the takedown. His cardio is off the charts, he is able to keep a great pace throughout the fights, and he is a master of the grinding style that his opponents can’t keep up with.

Jingle is a very good stylistic match up for Rubin, as his wrestling and ground game are equal to that of Rubin. He is more a wrestler than a submission artist, and prefers to use ground and pound. Being a former champion, who only recently lost his belt which just goes to show how effective his wrestling is. He only lost his belt due to the fact he couldn’t get the takedown often enough on his opponent, so he can be forced to turn into a punching bag if one can stop his relentless wrestling.

As I said earlier, this will be a great grappling contest. The top game of Jingle against the slick BJJ of Rubin will be an interesting chess match. This is most likely the toughest fight of Rubin’s career, going up against a former multiple time title holder. Barring a lucky submission, I don’t see Rubin winning this. Jingle’s wrestling and heavy top control should be enough to secure him the victory.

Prediction: Jingle via UD

UNDERCARD

"The Montana Mangler" Roosevelt Coleman vs. Rude Moogle – 265lbs

As befits a heavyweight, both men carry extremely heavy hands and like to use them often. Adding in with kicks, their stand up games are deadly against any HW who stand against them. I think Coleman has the more refined kickboxing and will pick up the W in this fight.

Prediction: Coleman via KO

William "Caper" King vs. John "Wild Man" Simmons – 265lbs

King is a very good wrestler, who knows a thing or two about submissions as well. Simmons is a journeyman fighter, not great by any means but he is serviceable and if anyone underestimates him he can KO them, but he has been KOed many times, and I think King can expose his iffy striking defence.

Prediction: King via TKO

Blake Bender vs. David "The Judge" Smith – 205lbs

Neither man has ever seen a judges scorecard, they either KO their opponents, or get KOed. Bender may have the better boxing but Smith utilises kicks, which have proved to be especially deadly. I think the kicks of Smith will prove to be the difference in this fight.

Prediction: Smith via KO

Sharky Shark vs. Flex Plexico – 265lbs

Again, both are strikers with excellent KO power and they know it so the strikes they throw could decapitate a foal. Shark’s weakness is his defensive grappling, having only ever been submitted and never KOed. Plexico is also hard to finish with strikes but I believe Shark has the more technical stand up and will take this fight.

Prediction: Shark via KO

Yuki Takano vs. Jason "Jay" Mewes – 145lbs

Takano makes his debut here, he is a very durable striking specialist and he faces Mewes. Mewes is a good veteran of the sport, he is well rounded but not great anywhere. I see the younger Takano using his kickboxing to beat the questionable chin of Mewes.

Prediction: Takano via TKO

Thank you for reading this far, you deserve a cookie. I hope everyone enjoys the event, will we see new title holders by the end of the night?

Insanity 86: Randy vs Best

Hard Knocks - Los Angeles (3,000)

03 May 2015

Greetings brave and noble people of MMA tycoon world, I am PugLayf and this is my preview with the upcoming event in the Insanity 86. This event will feature a lot of fighters who will make their debut in the organization. The event will also feature fighters who are ready to step up for a title contention and all they need is a chance. Let's get this one started!

Fight # 1 : Javier Arroyo v Glen Gorman

This Light Heavyweight bout will surely be an interesting one as Javier Arroyo 5-2-0 and Glen "The Meat" Gorman 8-8-0 tries to prove their worth on the ring.

Javier Arroyo can be used to teach the young MMA fighters the definition of the word 'Well-rounded fighter'. At 24 years old, he is already dangerous at every aspect of the game. He has the striking ability to keep you guessing on what angle and what part of your body you should defend. He has a great gas tank and will definitely fight you until the end of the match. Taking him down to the ground will not scare him as he is also a great ground fighter and his win via submission is the proof of that. He still has a lot of grounds to cover but a win here will greatly help him to be known around the organization.

Glen "The Meat" Gorman is one of the most exciting young studs in the organization. It is difficult to guess which fighter will win the fight when he is in the ring because Gorman will never be out of the fight unless you put him to sleep. This kind of style of fighting and his beautiful knock outs helped him to win a lot of 'of the night awards'. He surely is a talented young fighter but he must fight with all of his heart to win a fight here. Unfortunately his career is going south for now, losing 4 of his last 5 fights. He will definitely need the win here to change his momentum and to go back to his winning ways.

Fight #2 : Carson Battistoni v Simon Petrikov

This is a rematch in the Light Heavyweight Division where the two figters: Carson "Shutdown" Battistoni 6-5-0 is looking to defeat Simon "Ice King" Petrikov 5-3-0 once again.

Carson "Shutdown" Battistoni can be considered as a complete fighter. He has almost no visual weakness in his techniques and it will be a great factor for the odds to go with him in this fight. His power should also not be overlooked. He has the natural power that can be harnessed to knock his opponents down. He is a very dangerous fighter on his feet and demands to have every inch of your focus. If he slips a punch on your jaw, the fight might be over in a second. A win in this rematch will help him move forward in his quest for fame and for glory.

Simon "Ice King" Petrikov is a motivated man looking to avenge his lost to Carson Battistoni in their previous meeting. Petrikov will be looking to put his awesome Muay Thai and Boxing skills on a striking display. He can utilize his kicks so well that it gave nightmares to his opponents. With his flexibility, he can unleash a devastating head kicks that his enemies never saw coming. All you can see is his feet moving closer and closer to you at a great speed and the next thing you know is the fact that you got knocked out. A win here may complete his revenge or may start a great rivalry.

Fight # 3 : Alfredo Barbosa v Ole NKone

This is an awesome match up in the Featherweight bout as Alfredo Barbosa 7-5-0 and Ole "Bad Seed" NKone 9-5-0 meets in the cage

Alfredo Barbosa is a great fighter that can pick you apart and get great looks to keep knocking you down. He once proved his prowess striking abilities as he participated in professional kickboxing bouts. His striking ability is something to be scared of. His unpredictability with his hands and his feet made him a nightmare for his opponents. Even though he is an elite striker, he is also adept in the ground game. He has a good wrestling and BJJ background which would help him keep standing while he wreck havoc with his striking ability. A win here will help him move up the rankings in the organization.

Ole "Bad Seed" NKone is a caged beast with a mental fortitude of a lion. He is not afraid to go toe to toe with anyone who is fool enough to go in a cage with him. He will gladly fight you even if you are on your peak condition just to test his mettle against the best efforts of the enemy. His enormous talent him helped him rode a massive 6 fight winning streak to start his professional career and conquered a championship belt while he is at it. His grappling skills on foot and on the ground will be the most important factor for him to get the victory tonight. A win in this event will help him get back and continue his unfinished legacy.

Fight # 4 : Richard Riddick v Pedro Santiago

This Featherweight bout will be surely have it's moments as Richard "B." Riddick 7-1-0 will make his debut in INSANITY against Pedro "The Pirate" Santiago 8-6-0

Richard "B." Riddick has a ceiling of a champion. With a great training and a few strokes of luck, he will definitely see himself winning a title. He is a talented Mixed Martial Artist and an extremely good striker. 6 of his 7 career wins came from knockouts alone, showcasing his great striking ability. His striking skills on itself is scary but he is not just a striker. He once competed on a professional grappling fight, which shows that he, too, is an elite ground fighter. Riddick has a bright future ahead of him and winning this fight will definitely help him build his legacy.

Pedro "The Pirate" Santiago's majestic chin is the most annoying chin for anyone he faces. He never got knocked out on his whole professional career. He has one of the best natural defense anyone could have. He can confidently charge anyone without worrying about being knocked down. Without his chin, Santiago is still a great striker. He might lack skills on the ground game but he can knock opponents out when he is left standing. He has a great knockout percentage of 62.5%. A win here will help him establish himself as one of the must-beat fighters in the organization.

Fight # 5 : Robert Maudsley v Tadija Tadic

This Heavyweight bout will be a bout that is full of talent and potential as Robert "Hammer" Maudsley 9-6-0 faces Tadija "Sin Srbije" Tadic 11-5-0

Robert "Hammer" Maudsley is jumping in and out on other divisions like a mad man! He now settles in the big man division as he valiantly fought Trent Punchy in a long 3-fight series. Maudsley is a talented striker as he KO'ed most of the opponent that he faces but what makes him who he is is his determination. You can never assume that he is out of the fight. He will always try to do the impossible and will never stop trying until his last breath goes out. He really is a great man and an inspiring fighter. A win here will help him climb the rankings and face better fighters.

Tadija "Sin Srbije" Tadic's talent and potential can be seen as soon as he debuts on the professional scene. He started his career with a 6 fight winning streak and grabs 3 sub of the night award making him a nightmare to face on the ground for his opponents. Tardic did not get drowned with the pressure of being in the spotlight. He nourished his potential so well that he became a feared submission artist. All of his 11 wins came from a submission which greatly showcased his talents as a ground fighter. After a win here, he will be a step closer to get a chance and fight for a title.

Fight # 6 : Rubicon Brandy v Ashton Eaton

This Featherweight bout is about two fighters who will make their debuts in the organization. "The Mountain Man" Rubicon Brandy 16-6-0 will clash against Ashton Eaton 10-6-0 in this match.

"The Mountain Man" Rubicon Brandy is an experienced fighter who has seen it all. He has a fair share in contending, winning, defending and losing a championship belt. With all the fights under his career, he can be considered as a veteran and a wise fighter. His experience is not his only weapon, he is also an accomplished ground fighter. He has a lot of submission wins and won 2 sub of the night awards in his career which proved that his black belt in BJJ is not an accident. Winning on his debut in the organization should be a must for Brandy for the revival of his career.

In his coming back party to the organization, Ashton Eaton is another another fighter who will be looking to win his debut match in INSANITY besides Rubicon Brandy. He does not lack the experience in fighting in the professional scene and his 2 title contention is the proof of it. He is a well rounded fighter but his ground skills is really something to behold. He has a black belt in BJJ which leads to him, getting the majority of his wins coming from submissions. He will surely need a win here to come out of his 2 fight losing stint and of course, to win his second debut in the organization.

Fight # 7 : Gary Bitters v Rodney Carney

This Featherweight match is a typical striker vs grappler match up. It is very interesting to see who will win between Gary "Yukon" Bitters 11-6-0 and Rodney "The Stuntman" Carney 10-4-0

Gary "Yukon" Bitters is one of the veteran fighters who built his career here in the organization. He is a well rounded fighter but he relies to his striking abilities to get a win. He has a lot of tricks under his sleeve but his main weapon is his granite chin. He can take a punch like a real man and hard punches will not stop his aggressiveness. His style made him a pretty exciting fighter with 2 fight of the night and 2 KO of the night awards under his name. Bitters will once again show his striking skills into its full potential to dominate and get a win in this match.

Rodney "The Stuntman" Carney made his debut with the org earlier in the month of April. He is hungry to reach the top as soon as possible and with his talent, it is not impossible. He is a very talented grappler. He won 7 fights via submission in his 10 career wins. His entertaining and exciting submission wins transitioned into him winning the fight of the night award twice. His granite chin should also not be overlooked. He is very capable of taking a punch which enabled him to afford to look and wait patiently to get the right angles to get a takedown. A win here might establish him as one of the contenders in his division.

Co-Main Event : David Wuzz v Machine Gun

This Lightweight match up is between Mike "This Gonna Hurt" Allen 10-8-0 and "Pretty Boy" Jeremy Dunham 8-4-0. Both fighters are near the top of their division and they will surely go all out in this fight to become one of the contenders in the division.

David Wuzz is one of the most talented young fighters in the organization. If nothing goes wrong dramatically, he will definitely contend for a title sooner or later. He is an all around fighter but his ground game is what makes him special. He has a scary looking black belt in BJJ which is really needed because he makes a living in the ground game. All of his 6 win careers came from submissions and three(3) of those submissions are so fancy that it won the sub of the night. His granite chin will not go anywhere soon and if he utilizes it properly and with the help of his talent, he might really be a champion someday.

Machine Gun is a crazy young Russian dude with a red Mowhawks who beat people up for a living. He is also a great Mixed Martial Artist with a well rounded game. His insanely big gas tank has been proven and tested with his daily trip to the final rounds of his matches. He is a great boxer and he can definitely knock you out with his punches but his skills in Muay Thai really helped him in mixing up his offense. His amazing striking ability combined with his solid chin will absolutely bring chaos to anyone who wants to face him in a stand up fight. A win here will give him a boost to be closer in contending for a title fight.

Co-Main Event : Mike Allen v Jeremy Dunham

This Middleweight bout would be a very interesting fight as Lleyton Max 5-3-0 looks to prove his skills in the cage and "Baby Baby " Oh Yeah 10-4-1 would be looking to turn his career around.

Mike "This Gonna Hurt" Allen is a well rounded fighter with a beast-like power. He can without a doubt, have a huge chance to knock out anyone he faces. He is a very capable striker with his Boxing and Muay Thai skills backing him up. He can create a deep, complex combination of attacks that he can use to confuse his opponent. Currently, Allen is riding a 3 fight losing streak but this unfortunate, winless situation will not discourage him. It will give Allen an even more motivation to keep working his game and become a beast that he is. A win here will really give him a chance to turn his career around and reach his potential.

"Pretty Boy" Jeremy Dunham is a breathtaking striker. His stand up game is so stunning that it knocked out 6 of his opponents. At 22 years old, he is already a magnificent fighter to behold. His body coordination is always on point and he utilizes this skill as he keeps his opponents guessing with his offense. He can knock you out with a punch if you gave him the chance and he can knock you out with his kick too if you gave him the angle that he needs. His electrifying style results into a lot of 'of the night awards' making him a popular fighter around the world. A win here will establish his rank and be one of the elites in the organization.

Main Event : Macho Randy v James The Best

This Heavyweight fight will definitely not lack knockout power as Macho "Savage" Randy 5-1-0 looks to fight James "Simply" The Best 11-6-0

Macho "Savage" Randy is a brilliant Mixed Martial Artis even at his young age. He is adept with all kinds of martial arts that he needs in order to keep winning, making him a wonderful fighter to watch. His marvelous skills in Muay Thai will keep his enemies guessing if he would go for a fight-ending kick or if he will punish his opponent with his elbows. He has a great potential to be a KO machine and with his impressive moves he is destined to win more KO of the night awards. He still has a long way to contend for a title but a win will definitely help him move up the rankings.

James "Simply" The Best is a monster in the ring. His knockout percentage? 100%! This is unbelievable! He already won 11 fights in his career and he knocked them all out! His ability to knock opponents out in a flash keeps him a fan favorite. The only thing that you can do to stop his powerful punches from reaching you is to just completely avoid him and hope that he miss. Even though he is not getting any younger, he still can compete with the best of them. A win here will help him establish himself as a contender and will help him to get another chance to win another championship belt.

Thank you for reading my preview. I hope that you all have a good fight and goodluck with ya'll!

Regards,

PugLayf

We were lucky today to catch Insanity MW star Octavio Saades following his afternoon training session. With only 2 sessions remaining to prepare for his big Main Event fight on Saturday @ Insanity 85 Saades was willing to field a few questions before heading out for some well earned dinner.

Octavio Saades

I know I said I would answer questions but in reality I lied, all I wanted was the microphone so I can get my thoughts out there. I am here to entertain the fans of Insanity and I know my opponent Ahhhhh Cheeww has a large legion of fans but not for long, after they see what I am going to do to this never has been they will jump ship and start following a real fighter!! I bet right now Cheeeeeeww is scurred of what is coming and I know that makes him a dangerous opponent but what he doesnt know is just how dangerous I can be myself. Will I stand and bang with this pretend boxing phenom, will I chop him down with my thunderous leg kicks, wait dont look now.... BOOM head kick crashes into his neck and out he goes...or will I decide to manhandle him in the clinch, nah maybe I will see this go to the ground and rough him up there. Only I know which gameplan I will bring with me on Saturday, and unfortunately for Mr Chew whichever gameplan he is preparing for, may just be the one I dont use. The fans will surely get their moneys worth and in the end will see Ahhhhh Chew exposed as the fake he truly is and will find a new savior who answers to the name Octavio!!

Well there you have it folks, the great Ahhhhh Cheeeew has made his debut in LA and just like predicted he crumpled under the big lights of the city. I knew going in, or at least I had thought based on video I had seen Ahhhh Chew was a dangerous striker with loads of power but man I didn't feel a thing, maybe he has been playing too much paddy cakes with all his little Pokemon buddies that he forgot how to throw a real strike!! Now that I am done with him, I suppose its on to bigger and better things, like that gold strap that I want around my waste!! Cigar in one hand, gold walking stick in the other, a beautiful lady on each arm and MW Gold around my waste!! Nolan Sackett Thank you for keep my belt nice and shiny but now its time to come with me!! We are both on 5 fight win streaks, unfortunately one of us has to see that come to an end, and I am sorry to inform you my friend that won't be me, it's time I faced a real challenge instead of these chumps I keep getting fed, the time has come to just bring it son!!

Hey everyone... After many years of training i have decided to enter the Mad Cash Tournament and get myself a major payday.

Watch out Lightweights, because once i win this tourney i am coming after that belt!

Listen little boy Timmy, this is a mans game and I am afraid your visions of not only winning this tournament but then a shot at gold is very far fetched. With a 1-1-2 record in your last 4 fights you are dreaming when it comes to being considered a favorite for this epic tourney. The worst part of that is the fact you are on this run while participating in a second tier Org. You are playing with the big boys now, and I promise you we will run you over and you will have no idea what just hit you. Make sure you bring your "A" game son, and luck better be on your side because if you draw my name in round one, it will be one short visit to LA for you!

Gorman, training time is over, tonight is the night you face your destiny! I still havent figure out why Hetfield decided to dishonour me by making me take you on as an opponent. Your 4 consecutive losses are a disgrace to our profession. I think its time you looked real close in the mirror and realized its time to move on to Plan B, whatever that may be? I hear the boys at my gym need a spit bucket holder!! I followed my boy Octavio Saades training very closely in the lead up to his dance with that sneeze guy last night and must say his game plan was worked to near perfection, and to think I possess very similar tools to Saades, which means what for you. You got that right, a very short night and a very quick exit!! That chin of yours is very inviting, and I plan on spending a lot of time tonight testing it out, should be a short spin though, it will give out on you before you can say "wha happened boss" See you tonight sunshine, this is going to be a BLAST!

I must admit it is always very fascinating when guys are so scurred of the beating they are about to endure they automatically flip the switch on the Yo Mama jokes or the I just banged your wife lines. Totally avoiding the topic at hand and side stepping what the conversation is about. Face the facts here my friend tonight you will receive the beating of a lifetime, and no I do not speak of your Vaseline adventure you enjoyed last night on your solo mission dreaming of my wife! The fact you weren't bright enough to redirect before you got it all over your own chin truly saddens me. But based on your past performances I am sure the force probably knocked you right off your feet much the same as I plan to do tonight!

Insanity 87: Pedan vs Louis

Venice Beach (6,500)

16 May 2015

Greetings! This is M. Maestro, temporary writer, providing you with a preview in this sure classic! Headlining this event is 145-pound champion, Martin Saint Louis defending his belt against Alexander “Angel” Pedan! Newcomers and veterans alike are also in this card providing you with exciting cage action! Let's get it on!

Fight # 1: Jarvis Avalon v Ho Lee Fuk

This lightheavyweight matchup features newcomer Jarvis Avalon (0 – 1) and mma veteran Ho Lee Fuk (4 – 6).

The 25-year-old Avalon is set to make his debut here in Insanity. Avalon's training camp shows him as a fighter with versatile skills. But, he is said to prefer jiu jitsu and thinks of it as a lost art in mma. A few keypoints that Avalon has is his quickness coupled with solid boxing and powerful takedowns. His first fight as professional ended at a unanimous decision loss to journeyman fighter Ultimate Brutality (10 – 16). He hopes to make a great debut in Insanity and tally his first win.

A veteran of ten fights, Ho Lee Fuk hopes to end a series of disappointing losses. He currently suffers from a four fight losing streak and a win against Avalon is just what he needs to get back on track. Fuk is another solid all around fighter and despite his misfortunes is still a formidable opponent. His strongpoints include an excellent boxing background, good wrestling and surprising flexibility.

Fight # 2: John Paul Wani v Sisa Yiftos

Our second lightheavyweight fight of this event presents undefeated John Paul Wani (4 – 0) head to head against Sisa Yiftos (5 – 5).

Sudanese fighter “Freeborn” John Paul Wani is currently in a four fight winning streak and hopes to continue his good start as a mixed martial artist here in Insanity. Wani is an all-around fighter proficient in many fight disciplines. His 3 TKO victories is proof of his excellent boxing but it is also said that he has good wrestling too. There is also talks about his immense cardio but we haven't seen marks of it yet. Another fighter making his debut in the organization, this is John Paul Wani's chance to prove he is worth the paycheck.

This might be Sisa Yiftos' last chance to prove that he is worthy to be in the organization. His first two fights in Insanity have all ended in vain and another loss here would make his career uncertain in the organization. Although his record might not reflect it, Yiftos is a gifted fighter with a wide set of skills. Scouts have already said that he is a world-class boxer and is insanely flexible. He also had sparks of brilliance in the past actually winning two fight of the night awards and one KO of the night award. He needs another fit of inspiration and the time is ripe for that moment.

Fight # 3: Pony Mclovin v Nick Diaz

We have a great welterweight match in strore for you as Pony Mclovin (7 – 2) is set to take on Nick Diaz (5 – 4).

Pony Mclovin is an exciting fighter that fell out of form recently. He suffered two losses in a row and he looks to dispel the recent bad luck. Mclovin has a lot of tools in his kit but he is mainly known to be an excellent boxer. Five of his seven victories ended in (T)KO and he looks to add one more to the win column. He had attemted at a title before in his former organization in Powers Fighting Championship but lost via TKO. After signing here, he looks for an explosive start to turn some heads and prove that he is a contender for the future.

Nick “NiceGuy” Diaz is a solid opponent to every fighter that faces him. He has polished his mma game but is suffering from inconsistent performances. He wants to put that all behind him as he sign for his new organization, Insanity, hoping he'll start out a clean slate. His notables include world-class boxing and iron lungs.

Fight # 4: Jay Gatsby v Harald Hildetand

Lightweight fighters Jay “The Great” Gatsby (6 – 4) faces “Wartooth” Harald Hildetand (7 – 6) in a battle for upper table rankings.

Jay Gatsby is an Insanity veteran with nine fights in the organization. It has been a tough ride for him as three losses in his last four fights let him slid downwards the stacked division. He's hoping to make a comeback to the top by using his great striking power. While most of his (T)KO wins are via punches he does have lethal high kicks. Add good wrestling to his arsenal and you're sure to have nightmares competing against him

Current inconsistencies mark Harald Hildetand's career for the moment. His last five fight gave him two wins and three losses which does not help him if he wants a crack a the title. His early career did provide impteus to his reputation as a solid submissiona artist. His tally of five submissions vicotries over his seven wins is no giant leap. Although he prefers the grappling game on the ground, he is conidered to be an excellent boxer. His flexibility is also noted especially in his submission game.

Fight # 5: Lawrence Geritz v Chris Severn

We have #8 ranked lightheavyweight Lawrence “Funny Bone” Geritz (11 – 7 - 1) toe to toe with #10 lightheavyweight Chris Severn (8 – 6 – 1). This fight has some serious implications in the rankings as a this fight is a proving ground for a title shot in the future.

Lawrance Geritz is a nineteen fight veteran who faced most of his opponents in WarZone. Coming here in Insanity, he already garnered wins over Carson Battistoni (7 – 5) and Glen Gorman (9 – 8). These wins propelled him to the top of the rankings in his division but his loss against current #2 Castor Collins (14 – 3) stopped his tracks. He looks to start the ball rolling again and will definitely use his amazing Muai Thai skills to inflict serious damage.

Chris Severn has been to five different organizations in two years until he signed to Insanity. He hopes to end his status as a journeyman fighter against a strong opponent in Geritz. Severn is known for his powerful strikes but it's not to say he's one dimensional. His Muai Thai adds depth to his stand up game and exceptional wrestling plus a brown belt in jiu jitsu makes him tough on the ground too.

Fight # 6: Maxwell Rubin v Darren Myles

We now feature a lightweight bout with Maxwell “Vermelho” Rubin (8 – 3) against Darren Myles (15 – 9). This is an exciting bout as these two fighters have been on the outskirts of the top 10 in their division. A win here will surely help in penetrating the upper echelons of the lightweight division.

Maxwell Rubin already had an opportunity to enter the top ten in his last fight. But against an opponent like #2 lightweight Jingle Jingle (13 – 5) it did not come to fruition. He possesses an excellent wrestling base and jiu jitsu black belt that will surely be a game changer in this fight. He does have strong boxing and Muai Thai but his forte is to stay on the ground and submit his opponents.

Darren Myles is a veteran mma fighter. His twenty-four fights attest to his experience and this is an advantage that he can use against Rubin. Unlike Vermelho, Myles prefers using his powerful strikes and ground and pound to unleash havoc in his opponents. He has also challenged champions for three times now and if he wants another title shot, Myles needs to prove his worth in the cage with Rubin first.

Fight # 7: Machine Gun v Martti Molski

A title shot is near for these two lightheavyweights as #5 ranked Machine Gun (12 – 3 – 1) is set to face #2 rated lightheavyweight Martti “Molotov” Molski (8 – 2).

Machine Gun has recently won an important fight against #9 lightheavyweight David Wuzz (6 – 6). A TKO performance propelled him to his current rating and a win against Molski is going to turn some heads around! Gun is an intelligent fighter who uses his varied attacks to score decision wins and occasionally finish fights with TKOs. He has been a longtime Insanity fighter and with the way he's dishing out wins this is surely his time to go for gold.

Finnish fighter Martti Molski has not been in the organization for long but already established himself as one of the prime contenders for the 205-pound belt. He's a proven big hitter with six (T)KO victories in his name. Yet, he has also shown a penchant for wrestling and grappling as his only submission victory also earned him submission of the night award in a WarZone bout. If he can show the various combat skills he has, he can win this fight and battle the champion in the future.

Fight # 8: Jack Bronson v Jeremy Perosh

#7 Jack Bronson (13 – 4 – 1) will have to show his mettle against former champion and current #3 heavyweight Jeremy “Kaboom!” Perosh (12 – 5). A win for Bronson here will cement his status as a prime contender for the title but if “Kaboom!” Perosh takes the victory, he'll be moving forward to getting back his title.

Jack Bronson has always been a consistent fighter, continuously racking up wins. This is probably his biggest fight since Lexington Snape during his stint with Troid. Bronson's key to victory includes his sensational Muai Thai and surprising grappling. With 8 (T)KOs tallied, his striking is formidable even if they say he has mediocre boxing. Jack Bronson might need to change levels during the fight to keep Perosh busy. With his skillset, he could pull of the win.

Long-time Insanity fighter Jeremy Perosh is once again close to another title shot. His last two attempts at the belt resulted in a let down as he was knocked out against former champion Nicky Spillane (11 – 2) and current title holder Cyril Makarenko (16 – 4). Perosh's gameplan is to knock people out cold and his excellent boxing and ground and pound help in executing his designs. He'll certainly slug it out with Bronson and that is a fight we'd all like to see.

Co – Main Event: Arshnoor Singh v Predator Burns

Highly touted featherweight Arshnoor “THE BRUTALIZER” Singh in a battle for supremacy with “FightBred 2.0” Predator Burns! This is our co-main event and is the implications of this fight is staggering!

This is the highly awaited debut for Singh! We've seen great stuff from him in his stints from different orgs and it's exciting too see him in action here in Insanity! His resume is tremendous. Former HONOR and Death Squad champion, Sing has been through wars before. He boasts remarkable Muai Thai and those vicious kicks! Even if he can't produce the stoppage he is known to fight smart racking up decision victories. This is only his first fight in the organization but he's already touted as the #2 ranked featherweight. If he wins here he might actually be the next guy to fight for gold.

After headlining Insanity 84, Predator Burns is set to continue his winning ways. It's a big fight for Burns and is his toughest opponent yet. A win against Singh will exhibit Burns legitimacy as a contender for the 145-pound title. “FightBred 2.0” Burns will be looking at the ground to inflict damage. His intimidating black belt in jiu jitsu and sensational wrestling are key to all of his past victories and he will look to apply the same methods here. If Burns can take this fight to the ground, it could shatter Singh's “hype” and increase his standing in the division.

Main Event (145 lbs Championship): Alexander Pedan v Martin Saint Louis

Welcome fight fans! Here we go! This main event is between our featherweight champion, Martin Saint Louis (18 – 3) defending the crown against #3 ranked Alexander “Angel” Pedan (11 – 0)! These two champions are here facing off and frankly, I'm ecstatic!

Our challenger is former War God champion Alexander “Angel” Pedan! He is by far the most dominant featherweight this division has seen. A perfect eleven wins and if that's not enough, all of these victories are achieved via (T)KO! Pedan is so explosive he even submitted a guy... with strikes! He can knock you out in many different ways. Punches, kicks or a combination of both, Alexander Pedan is no angel in the ring.

Now we go to our champion, Martin Saint Louis. If there's one thing about Saint Louis its that he's a complete mixed martial artist. This man finds a way to win. He can make you tap, stop you with strikes or fight you with points. In addtion to that, Martin Saint Louis has an amazing gas tank. He's been into the championship rounds and he's come out victorious every time. There might be questions about his chin but he hasn't really been hurt either. If he wins this fight, its going to prove that he can withstand taking strikes as well as dish them out.

This is an awesome fight card to watch! I do hope you enjoyed the preview here! See you on the 16th of May in Venice Beach!

This event is contained with a lot of young, talented prospects who are worthy enough to represent the next generation of superstars! This event is a no doubt crowd pleaser and let's wait no more! Let's get this one started!

Fight # 1 : Zane Mason v Ronaldo Souza

This Welterweight bout is a showdown between two completely different style of fighting. Zane "Rhino" Mason 9-4-0 will look to showcase the striking game while Ronaldo "The Submission" Souza 7-1-0 will try to prove that ground skills are the more dominant fighting style.

Zane "Rhino" Mason is a complete mixed martial artist that can fight efficiently in different areas of the game. Equipped with an extremely frightening striking skills, he has a praiseworthy knockout percentage of 77.78! His brilliance in the striking department really defined his career as he found great success with his terrifying knockout power and in picking the right angles to knock his opponent out cold. He is also throwing out an unpredictable barrage of kicks and punches in different locations every chance he gets, making it harder for the enemies to escape his wrath. A win here will help his career to get back on track and back on his winning ways.

Ronaldo "The Submission" Souza feeds on the dislocated bones of his opponents and only use the tears of those who submits before him as a beverage. Naturally, the Brazilian native owns a black belt in BJJ, a belt that he can proudly wear as his skills in the said martial art can definitely compete globally. With his talent in the ground game, he started his career with an impressive 7 fight winning streak, winning 6 fight straight through submissions and taking home a championship belt while he is at it. Now that he is fighting for INSANITY and on a stacked division, he will have to always give his best to once again, win a title.

Fight # 2 : Oh Yeah v Paul Green

This Middleweight bout is between two fighters who have a bright future ahead on their careers. "Baby Baby " Oh Yeah 11-4-1 vs. Paul "Bang Boom Bang" Green 8-1-0

"Baby Baby " Oh Yeah is a talented mixed martial artist and should not be messed with. He easily demonstrates his talents and the potential that he has when he rode a 5 fight winning streak to start his career and earning a championship belt while he is at it. What's more impressive is that he won his fights in different ways. He can knock you out with his power, he can submit you with his technical skills and he can fight you in the distance with his splendid cardio. He truly is a spectacular talent and the sky should not even be his limit because his potential is out of this world.

Paul "Bang Boom Bang" Green has received a gift from the KnockOut Gods when he was a child. He received a vigorous power to knock everyone who dares to step in the cage with him. He committed, sacrificed and give everything he have to amplify his KO power and to use it efficiently through technical striking. With a little more time and more training, he is soon to be called an elite striker and he should definitely use his talent to build a name for himself. He can use a win here to prove himself more and to be considered one of the elites in this fight organization.

Fight # 3 : Jose Santiago v Rodney Carney

This Featherweight Division match is between two submission artist who will look to submit each other. Jose "The Rocinha Zombie" Santiago 6-2-1 vs. Rodney "The Stuntman" Carney 10-5-0

Jose "The Rocinha Zombie" Santiago became an elite BJJ Mixed Martial Artist at a young age. His genius-level of talent in BJJ is born within him and his dedication and hard working attitude made it possible for him to use his talents efficiently and effectively. His talent and cunning ability to submit his opponents to their doom made him an exciting fighter in the cage and as a result, he easily won two sub of the night award early in his career. He is still young and he still has a lot of time and room to work on his striking skills to become a beast in the cage and a win here should keep him motivated to work harder and better.

Rodney "The Stuntman" Carney is a well established ground fighter and a certified dangerous man on the grappling aspect of the game. He manifest his talents in wrestling and in BJJ to destroy his opponents and anyone who dares to challenge him to fight in the cage. 70% of his wins came from his hard earned submissions which is an impressive feat and it shows that even if you plan for his ground game, he can still submit you and make you pay for every mistake that you made. Carney needs to give everything he have to win this match and get a momentum boost to refine his career into a much better one.

Fight # 4 : Kimroy Hoo v Randy Savage

He can easily switch between punches and kicks. He can easily land it into different parts of your body due its unpredictable nature which strikes fear into the hearts of his opponents. It is still a long way now, but he will have to get this win and keep building his legacy.

"Macho Man" Randy Savage is a professional mixed martial artist whose main weapon is his striking ability. He is an accomplished striker and can easily dominate and punish you at the striking distance if you do not know what you are doing. He is a dangerous knockout artist and already proved to the world that he, too, has the power of a single punch knockout. He is also a very unpredictable opponent as he can effortlessly change his offense from punches to kicks in mere seconds which helped him catch his enemies off guard. He is a very talented fighter a win here will help him reach his true potential.

Fight # 5 : Yuki Takano v Richard Riddick

This bout in the Featherweight Division is between Yuki Takano 9-5-0 who will try to establish himself to become one of the elites in the organization with a win against Richard "B." Riddick 8-1-0

Yuki Takano is one of the best young strikers the organization. Due to his mastery in the striking department, he started his professional career on kick boxing matches. He quickly showed and proved his potential to become one of the best knock out artist in the game when he showed that he can strike with a power of the giants. He might be a really dangerous stand up fighter but his dedication in improving the different areas of his game is what took him to another stage and level of his career. His talent and dedication to keep improving helped him win and defend his championship title multiple times earlier in his career and he will definitely not stop now to win another one here in INSANITY.

Richard "B." Riddick is a badass dude who knocks people out for a living. His boxing skills are sufficient enough to knock out 6 accomplished fighters that chooses to face the wrath of his fists. Although he is lacking a lot in learning new potential weapons to add into his arsenal, he still can knockout anyone and he can rise with the best of them with the help of his fists. He can be considered as a seasoned fighter but he still lacks the experience in fighting high skilled fighters who can contend for a title. A win here will definitely help him move up the rankings and, maybe, get the chance to contend for a title for the first time in his career.

Before his loss in his last fight, Mckane is the undisputed, true king of the Welterweight Division. He started his career with a bang and surprised everyone in the organization with his talent and his never ending potential. He finished every single one of his opponents, either by putting them back to sleep or by making them cry in pain until they submit themselves. He knows that he is a great athlete but he still utilizes his intelligence very well. He never fails to exploit the weakness in the strategy of his opponents and use it to his advantage. A win here will help him establish his name as one of the best in his division.

Co - Main Event : Victor Loosa v Jozef Beast

This bout is a rematch in the Welterweight Division as Victor Loosa 11-4-0 looks to regain his title against Jozef "Brawler" Beast 14-5-0

Victor Loosa right now is a man on a mission. The 25 year old American will now be looking to retake his championship belt with the same man who took it from him. His granite chin combined with his expertise in striking and his authority in the clinch game made him a grueling obstacle for his opponent. This is a big fight in his career and he must give all he got to, once again, reign the Welterweight Division.

Jozef "Brawler" Beast is now riding on a breathtaking, stunning 8 fight winning streak. It is so huge that the said winning streak took him from an average MMA fighter just trying to survive into a superstar that every young warrior wants to be. On his road to fame and glory, he took the Welterweight Division title belt with him and he is now once more, looking to defend it from his title-hungry opponent. He will once again plan to use his unstoppable striking power and his great striking techniques to be the key to his victory and to be the key to build his illustrious legacy in the MMA world.

Main Event : Jingle Jingle v Maurício Aurelio

This Lightweight bout is between a two potential title contenders looking to establish their ranks in the organization. Jingle "Jangle" Jingle 13-5-0 will be looking to defeat Maurício Aurelio 14-5-0. Who will have the upper hand?

Jingle "Jangle" Jingle is an awesome fighter who is adept in all aspects of the game. He started his career as an elite ground fighter, winning his professional debut via submission. Although he is an accomplished ground fighter, he discovers that he has an imposing KO power. He is now improving his striking skills to become an elite all around fighter and to efficiently use his KO power. His talent and his impressive moves helped him win the heart of the fans that leads to him achieving a spectacular feat of having both 'Sub of the night awards' and 'KO of the night awards' in his career. A win here will aid him to force the organization to give him another shot for a title match.

Maurício Aurelio is a brilliant submission artist with a solid chin to show for. He is a good Mixed Martial Artist and he can compete well in different areas of the fight but his ground game is what made him a special fighter not to be messed with. He is so dangerous in the ground that 10 of his 14 wins came from submissions alone. That is insane! His striking abilities are also gradually rising, allowing him to have more depth in skills and to be an unpredictable fighter. His skills, talents and multiple 'Of the night awards' that he acquire in his career is all the verification that we need to prove that he does not lack the explosiveness and the intoxicating moves that the crowd loves. A win here will help him to see the first title match of his young career.

Thank you for reading my preview. I hope that you all have a good fight and goodluck with ya'll!

Regards,

PugLayf

" New management, 2 Fights, 2 Wins. Dangerous in the Stand-up and on the Ground. You better look out Oh Yeah. You might be the most evenly challenge for me yet, but i will doubt it then you can stop me. To be honest you will need your pacifier "Baby Baby", after i am done with you. *hahahahaha* "

Shintaro Nomo (16-3-0)

After that dominant first round win, I want a title shot against Jozef Beast. Let's make it happen. Beast is in big, big trouble. Insanity, you are looking at your uncrowned champion.

JT Redman (235974)

Hey guys...

After a successful KT career i thought long and hard about a transition to MMA. Unfortunately since going 0-2 since changing I have found myself knocked out of the Mad Cash Tourney.

But i have to say one thing, i quite like it here in LA so i might hang around for a bit. I will continue to round out my game and hopefully i will continue to knock people out. Watch out Insanity, i have arrived!

Timothy "Red Dragon" Robinson (238177)

You know, like my cousin JT said, we were both unsuccessful in the Mad Cash Tourney, but we did pretty well.

I have fought all over the world and i have been a champion before. LA is much warmer than London and i quite like it here.

I was unsuccessful in my fight but i am still young and i will come back stronger than ever.

Insanity 89

Los Angeles, Kings Theatre (5,320)
6th June

Welcome to another Insanity preview and what a card they have put on show for us. The heavyweight title is on the line, with the returning Niko Alzate facing the daunting task of dethroning Makarenko. With debuting fighters, fan favourites and future title prospects on the card, it has a lot hype behind it for good reason.

"Angel Maker" Cyril Makarenko vs. Niko Alzate – 265lbs TITLE FIGHT

Makarenko already holds 3 wins of Niko Alzate in Insanity, he is the chip on Alzate’s shoulder. Yet here he is again, about to step into the ring with the man he seemingly cannot beat.

Makarenko is on a 4 fight winning streak, 3 of them title wins. He holds a very diverse striking game for a big man, with pin point accurate punches and really scary kicks that he snaps out of no where, especially his low kicks. His defensive grappling is excellent as he is often taken down and put in bad spots, but he survives. That is his main weakness, the amoint of times he is put on his backside during fights, it almost lost him his title in his last fight out and many fans still think he lost his fight against Spillane so he has extra motivation to leave no doubts on the minds of the fans this time out.

Alzate is a very well rounded finisher. With great striking but also very crafty submission skills to make him dangerous anywhere the fight goes. He left Insanity two fights ago, losing to Jeremy Perosh, but 2 fights in Australia and 2 impressive wins see him back in Insanity and gold ahead of him, one of those wins against former great Neo Kable.

In my opinion the key to Alzate winning this fight will be to take Makarenko down and work his submissions, 3 fights and 3 wins for Makarenko although one was a hail mary KO in the last round but Alzate needs to do something different. Their second fight he mixed it up very nicely with kicks and clinching. I see Makarenko taking this fight again, his striking has improved a lot since their last meeting and it should prove too much for him once again.

Prediction: Makarenko via TKO

Nickey "Mad Man" Spillane vs. Jeremy "Kaboom!" Perosh – 265lbs

Spillane is coming off a tough loss to the champ in which many feel he should be wearing gold if not for a hotly contested judges call. Perosh has been with Insanity since their very beginning and the fans love do or die style. Spillane has the edge on him as he won their first encounter and will hold a mental advantage.

Spillane is a fantastic fighter at mixing it up. He blends his takedowns with his striking so seamlessly it seems he doesn’t think twice about it any more. His ground game is his strong suit as he is great at getting the fight there, and usually he is great at keeping on top of his opponent and taking their will to fight out of them. One problem he has had in his career is his lack of finishing ability, he doesn’t possess massive amounts of KO power and he doesn’t dive in for risky submissions and that lack of finishing has sometimes cost him fights or there have been very close wins whereas there could have been easy victories. Alas, he cannot have it all, his methodical approach to fighting appears to be working for him.

Perosh is a striker, with very good kicks and punches but also he is very strong in the clinch where he utilises a very good dirty boxing. There isn’t anything outstanding about his game and very rarely does he show anything new but he follows his game plan to the letter. He has very good KO power in his fists and his kicks and he often throws his opponent off his game by attacking with spinning attacks or un-orthodox strikes.

I feel this fight playing out much like their first encounter, with Spillane mixing it up and keeping Perosh guessing then catching that suspect chin.

Prediction: Spillane via TKO

"Pretty Boy" Jeremy Dunham vs. Jay "The Great" Gatsby – 155lbs

Young star Dunham looks to continue on his debut success by beating the older Gatsby.

Dunham is an excellent striker, as well as being powerful he is extremely accurate striker. Over his career he has often been looked down on due to being the younger fighter, but he is extremely well trained and has beaten the older, more experienced fighters. He picks his strikes very carefully and has an excellent KO rate to back up his striking style. During his last two losses he was taken down fairly easily and gassed out before being finished by strikes, so there is a hole in his game Gatsby can exploit.

Gatsby takes after many fighters from his gym, great stand up but especially strong clinch game with deadly dirty boxing. Once in the clinch he lands a lot of strikes to the body and to the head often proving to be too much to handle. Gatsby’s weakness is also the wrestling department, being finished on the ground a few times by strong wrestlers who kept him in position.

This should be a good stand up fight, with Dunham looking to keep it at range and Gatsby looking to engage in the clinch. I feel that Dunham can fight off being clinched or if he is, he will be able to avoid taking damage and give some himself.

Prediction: Dunham via TKO

Ashton Eaton vs. Abraham "Jewsus Christ" Donowitz – 145lbs

Well rounded fighters with good striking but an even better ground game, Eaton looks to build up some momentum by beating the widely regarded #2 at 145lbs in Insanity, Donowitz.

Eaton started his career by being a submission expert but has developed his striking up to a respectable level, but he hasn’t showed massive power it serves to score him points or to engage in grappling. Although he has 6 losses in his career, most of those were against very highly regarded fighters.

Donowitz has only ever lost to the current champion, Saint-Louis. He has 1 win over him but he can’t seem to find a way to beat him again. Their fights are always close and Donowitz shows he can be a champion with his skills. His striking has gotten to a level where it’s a very deadly weapon on its own but it is still his wrestling and amazing ground game that is his main tool.

As good as Eaton is, I just don’t see him beating Donowitz. Donowitz has the wrestling, the ground game and the striking to beat Eaton and start another run at the title.

Prediction: Donowitz via TKO

Jason "Jay" Mewes vs. Shin Dong Hyuk – 145lbs

The powerful Mewes welcomes the durable Dong Hyuk to Insanity in this intriguing match up.

Mewes is a great finisher, able to KO on the feet or submit people on the floor. He has great slams as well, once KOing a fighter with an extremely powerful slam. However, he is vulnerable to being overwhelmed by aggressive strikers and finished, leading some to question how durable his chin is.

Dong Hyuk is very well rounded, with great kicks but he also has the ability to take fights to the floor if the need arises. He isn’t bad in any area and he can exploit the weakness of any fighter. He doesn’t have much stopping power or great submissions, he uses a pitter patter style of striking designed to score points and win decisions.

I feel that Mewes won’t be able to finish Dong Hyuk and that Hyuk will be able to out point him on the judges scorecards for the win.

Prediction: Dong Hyuk via UD

UNDERCARD

Alvin Loredo vs. "FightBred 2.0" Predator Burns – 145lbs

Loredo holds a striking advantage over Burns, particularly his boxing. Burns will try to take this fight to the ground and work his high level BJJ game on Loredo. I feel like eventually Burns will secure the takedown and get the submission or decision.

Prediction: Burns via submission

Bosco "CageDawg" Brown vs. Pete "Super" Speedy – 170lbs

Brown finds himself on a tough run of late, whilst Speedy is building up some good momentum. Brown is well rounded and knows how to stick to a gameplan as does Speedy, but Speedy is more of a wrestler. I feel that Browns ground game will be able to fend off Speedy and his striking is better.

Prediction: Brown via UD

Robert "Hammer" Maudsley vs. "Ser" Winston Hughes – 265lbs

Maudsley is very experienced heavyweight, with great power but also poor striking defense and a questionable chin. Hughes only has 3 fights, but he has shown jaw shattering power and a great chin. I feel like Hughes will start his rise to the top on this card.

Prediction: Hughes via KO

Jacopo "The" Faithful vs. John "Wild Man" Simmons – 265lbs

Both fighters are similar, they have good power but their chins are made of glass. Easily KOed, it’s a question of who lands first. I feel that Faithful has the better striking by a slim margin and Simmons has the worse chin.

Prediction: Faithful via KO

Ivan Belshiknolav vs. Richard Robinson – 170lbs

Ivan hasn’t had a very good career, with more losses than wins and many of those losses he was brutally finished. Robinson has only 1 win in his last 5 but he has great skills to get out of this rut. I am picking Robinson to defeat Belshiknolav.

Prediction: Robinson via UD

Well there we have it, all of the fights given a breakdown. Hope you enjoyed it and see you soon.

Insanity 89
