The WFL is back for a stacked card, live from Hayashi's Lounge in Helsinki, Finland, it's WFL 24, headlined by a pair of scintillating title bouts, most notably a huge rematch for the light heavyweight title between Fritz "The Butcher of Hanover" Haarmann and Oskar Wysocki. Let's get in to it:

Preliminary bout #1- Heavyweight fight (265 lbs)

Mike Tyson (5-6) (0-1) versus Jnm Jbjj (0-0) {0-0}

A pair of fighters looking to gain some traction in the WFL Heavyweight division duke it out here. Jbjj is a striker by trade, while Tyson is much more well rounded. In his WFL debut however, Tyson was controlled and submitted by superior grappler Luigi Fuze. Despite that submission loss, I think Tyson has the ground advantage here, and I think he will use that to submit Jbjj in the second.

Preliminary bout #2- Lightweight fight (155 lbs)

Rafael Inclan (7-23) {0-2} versus Wan Bemming (2-4) {1-4}

Both of these men have had tough runs in the WFL thus far but they will look to turn it around in this bout. Inclan is a brown belt in BJJ, but to be frank, he's not very good anywhere else. Bemming is pretty good everywhere, but he prefers to stand and trade. Bemming should have the advantage almost everywhere except on the ground, which is why I see him winning by decision.

Preliminary bout #3- Lightweight fight (155 lbs)

Ronaldo Hispanyola (8-6) {3-4} versus Iivari Uhri (1-0) {1-0}

Both of these men have had admirable WFL and MMA careers thus far, and they will look to continue that. Hispanyola is coming off of a tough submission loss at the hands of top contender Niklas Backstrom, but he will look to return to prominence here. Uhri defeated vet Rafael Inclan in his debut. Uhri is very well rounded, but prefers to utilize his wrestling and ground and pound, but he may want to avoid that against the BJJ brown belt Hispanyola. I think Uhri has a good first round, mixing it up with stand up and ground and pound, but I think he succumbs to a second round sub courtesy of Hispanyola.

Preliminary bout #4- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)

Iain James (2-3) {0-2} versus Artie Lange (14-13) {2-2}

Artie Lange looks to bounce back from a loss to Tommy Ward here as he faces Iain James. James is a very well rounded fighter, well versed in both Muay Thai and BJJ. In contrast, Lange is a straight grappler, with great wrestling to go along with a purple belt in BJJ. This fight will come down to who has better grappling, because there is no way Lange let's James to stand, and there isn't much James can do about that. Lange I think has the better all-around grappling which is why I think he will take home a decision win.

Preliminary bout #5- Heavyweight fight (265 lbs)

Greg Joll (4-5) {2-5} versus Kim Jong Un (8-13) {1-0}

Kim Jong Un enters this bout looking to extend his win streak to two against one of the longest tenured WFL fighters in Greg Joll. Joll is very well rounded, but prefers to grapple. Unfortunately for Joll, "The Korean King" is also a fan of grappling, but he is a brown belt in BJJ, while Joll is a rank below him and purple. I think this one will definitely come to the ground, and I think Joll does okay for a round, but I have Kim Jong Un by second round sub.

Main Card bout #1- Lightweight fight (155 lbs)

Jay Bryson (0-1) {0-1} versus Bokser Turniejowy (6-4) {2-2}

[+117] [-156]

I'm very excited for this fantastic bout between two tough strikers. Turniejowy is coming off of an incredibly impressive KO over Wan Bemming in a fight that didn't even last a minute. Bryson is coming off of a loss to contender Roufus Kaine, but Bryson proved he is more than game against the elite of the division. This one will be a barnburner considering both of these fighter's striking ability. Since they are equal in striking, I think this one will come down to who has a better chin, and I think that lies on the side of Turniejowy, and I think he prevails with a second round KO.

Main Card bout #2- Middleweight fight (185 lbs)

#5 Luiz Carvalho (5-3) {1-1} versus Ali Babanov (3-0) {1-0}

[-130] [-102]

Both of these fighters make quick returns to the WFL cage, both coming off wins at WFL FN 3. This fight could possibly determine who is next for Las Mambo/Renato Otis. When you look at the resume of Luiz Carvalho, the first thing that jumps out is his purple belt in BJJ. However, Carvalho prefers to use his hands, and it's worked, as he has KO'd 4 people in just 8 bouts. Babanov meanwhile is a high level wrestler who is coming off of a win over Adam Slate. If Carvalho keeps this one standing I think he wins easy, however he has struggled with wrestlers in the past, and I think that continues tonight, as I think Ali wins by decision.

Main Card bout #3- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

Ricardo Santana (3-0) {2-0} versus Kevin Stevens (5-3) {4-2}

[-344] [+239]

Both of these men are looking to jump into the LHW title race, and a win over the other would do just that. Stevens finally stopped his three fight skid in his last bout with a win over favorite David Thompson in an exciting fight. Santana is coming of a fantastic win over veteran Daniel Carneiro via second round TKO. If this bout stays standing, there is no doubt Ricardo Santana will have the advantage. Stevens has great wrestling, and if he uses that he should make this one interesting. I see Santana pulling off a third round TKO over Stevens in this one.

Co Main Event- Middleweight Title Fight (185 lbs)

Champion Las Mambo (12-1) {3-0} versus #1 Renato Otis (8-3) {2-0}

[-413] [+277]

The WFL's middleweight superman returns here to defend his title against fellow grappler Renato Otis. Mambo has been flawless thus far, as he has had three submissions (all Kimuras) in three fights. Otis has also been pretty darn good thus far, but he is taking a step up in facing Mambo, and it shows in the betting odds, as Mambo is the biggest favorite on the card. Both of these men are strong grapplers, each earning a BJJ purple belt. The difference is the wrestling and striking of Las Mambo, which are both superior to Otis'. I think Otis has a good first few rounds, but I see him succumbing to a Mambo sub in round 3 or 4.

Main Event- Light Heavyweight Title Fight (205 lbs)

Champion Fritz Haarmann (10-0) {5-0} versus #1 Oskar Wysocki (7-1) {6-1}

[-257] [+186]

Their first fight was quite a barnburner, and I expect the same from Light Heavyweight standouts Fritz Haarmann and Oskar Wysocki in their rematch. Wysocki controlled Haarmann on the ground for the first two rounds, something we had never seen anyone do to "the Butcher of Hanover". However, Wysocki succumbed to a guillotine in round three. Since the the Polish grappler has one twice, once by TKO and once by submission. Haarmann meanwhile won another quick one, submitting Bob Probert in round one. I think Wysocki will change up his gameplan in this one and try to use his superior standup a little more. A big difference in this bout is the improvement in the wrestling of Fritz Haarmann, and I think that is the difference in this rematch; Haarmann by 2nd round submission.

Champion: Rafael Gomez (5-0) {4-0}http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20131222000642Belt2blank.jpg

1. Miguel Augusto (9-5) {4-2}

Despite a losing at WFL 21, Augusto remains in the #1 contender position and will fight Shinya Stanley for a shot at the crown

The dangerous KO artist Stanley was fired up after his quick first round KO victory over the tough Bryan Poison, and will look to parlay that energy into a highly coveted title shot when he rematches Miguel Augusto

Three fights, three KOs so far for Pichushkin and will look to gain a shot at the title against Holy Diver

On the Fringe: Thomas Raith, Holy Diver

Champion: Las Mambo (13-1) {4-0}http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20131222000642Belt2blank.jpg

Mambo secured the first TKO win of his career when he pounded out Otis, and he will now await the next challenger

1. Juhani Jarvela (19-36) {2-1}

By far the most experienced fighter in the WFL 185 lb division, the journeyman and feared striker Jarvela entered the WFL with quite a lot of momentum behind him, winning 4 of his last 5, including 3 in a row, but was submitted by #1 Las Mambo. Jarvela returned to his winning ways in a quick KO's of Very Magnum and Tomas Skalinskas and will now battle Doug Pattersson

2. Renato Otis (8-4) {2-1}

The talented grappler entered the WFL 185 lb division seeking a title, but fell short against Las Mambo

3. Doug Pattersson (3-0) {2-0}

The hot prospect Pattersson was impressive yet again, utilizing his superior wrestling to defeat Kiri

4. Ali Babanov (4-0) {2-0}

Babanov is now 2-0 in the WFL following his quick TKO over Carvalho

5. Tomas Skalinskas (3-2) {2-2}

Skalinskas has now lost two in row, but the well rounded fighter is poised to make a return to prominence

On the Fringe: Luiz Carvalho, Adam Slate, Piotr Witczak , Kia Turunen

205 lb (Light heavyweight)

Champion: Oskar Wysocki (8-1) {7-1}http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20131222000642Belt2blank.jpg

Wow. I was utterly shocked at the dominating performance Oskar Wysocki put on against the WFL's golden boy Fritz Haarmann at WFL 24. The Polish stud beat down Haarmann for a solid 25 minutes en route to a UD victory, and in doing so, captured the title.

1. Fritz Haarmann (10-1) {5-1}

Haarmann suffered a tough defeat at the hands of Wysocki, but I think it's needless to say "The Butcher of Hanover" will be back

2. Bob Probert (4-1) {3-1}

Probert was unsuccessful in his title bid against WFL champ Fritz Haarmann, but the tough striker succumbed to a guillotine in the first round. Probert will look to bounce back against Tony Rollins in early May

3. Don Schmidt (7-2) {5-2}

Another fight, another KO victory for the fan favorite Don Schmidt, as he destroyed Shen Woo, knocking him down 3 times before finally finishing him with a brutal right hand. What's next for him? Perhaps a move to 185? Only time will tell for the former title challenger

4. Brad May (3-0) {2-0}

May had a tough first round against Kevin Stevens, but put down the former title challenger in the second with a head kick, and the dominant striker will look to continue his winning ways against vet Daniel Carneiro

5. Ahti Ahven (6-5) {3-1}

Ahven continues to shock me, and he did again when he defeated Jon Jones, and he will now battle Don Schmidt in his first main event

On the Fringe: David Thompson, Ricardo Santana, Kevin Stevens, Ahti Ahven, Tony Rollins

265 lb (Heavyweight)

Champion: Leather Slammer (19-15) {3-0}http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20131222000642Belt2blank.jpg

The MMA veteran is now an MMA champion after his submission victory over Jason Rogers. Slammer will now await a challenger to emerge in the 265 lb division

1. Jason Rogers (13-12) {3-2}

It was a disappointing end to his run, but the game Rogers will look to return to prominence against Bubba James

2. Rsghrhr Hrjgjsjs (6-0) {3-0}

"Fdjfj" was impressive in his WFL debut, and kept his momentum rolling vs Gary Stillies and Bubba James in 1st round submission victories

3. Syltas Pojk (5-3) {2-2}

After a rough start to his WFL career, Syltas Pojk has now run off two wins in a row, including a win over Brutus Satanae in a rematch. Pojk will now battle WFL newcomer Ghiorghos Papadopoulos

4. Kakashi Hatake (14-14) {1-3}

Despite a dismal WFL record, Hatake enters the top five after his victory over former champ Naamahaara, and will look to build off his momentum against newcomer Tony Siblas

5. Kamala Naamahaara (13-7) {4-2}

Naamahaara has had a disappointing fall, but the 28 year old striker will look to return against Luigi Fuze

On the Fringe: Bubba James, Valera Kaminsky, Luigi Fuze, Tony Siblas

WFL Talk with Josh James

Reporter: Welcome to our first edition of WFL Talk! Today's guest is esteemed WFL Owner Josh James, just returning from a short hiatus; Josh, how are you my friend?

James: Ready to talk some WFL!

Reporter: Well let's get right into it! What did you think of Fritz Haarmann's shocking loss as well as the other fights at WFL 24?

James: Man, words can not even describe how surprised I was at the result of that one... I knew Oskar had a chance, but he dominated him! 50-45 on all 3 cards! Incredibly impressive performance! As for the rest of the card, I applaud all of the fighters, as it was our most successful event to date! Las Mambo was fantastic as always, and Kevin Stevens shocked everyone including me by the fact he not only went the distance with Ricardo Santana, but he drew him! Ali Babanov also looked great!

Reporter: What is the title picture looking like in all of the divisions?

James: Well as we know, all of these divisions are stacked! At 145, Jaffer will challenge Poopha at WFL 27-Resolution; after that it looks like Tommy Ward, if he beats Octavio Ramos, or maybe even the Rostowski v Aruba winner. At lightweight, the winner of Yod Photirat and Roufus Kaine will get the next crack at it. At 170, the winner of Augusto v Stanley has the next shot at Gomez. 185 is probably the most muddled, but Ali Babanov and the winner of Pattersson v Jarvela are clear frontrunners. The winner of Don Schmidt v Ahti Ahven gets the next crack at the 205 lb title. At heavyweight, it's either the winner of James v Rogers or the winner of Siblas v Hatake.

Reporter: Good stuff there! Okay how about this, best KO, Sub and fight ever in the WFL thus far?

James: Wow that's a tough one! For fight I would definitely have to go with Naamahaara v Rogers I, where Kamala was knocked down 3 times in the third before turning around and knocking down Rogers in the fourth, and eventually winning by cut. KO is so difficult, but I will have to go with Don Schmidt for his sick spinning backfist KO of Karol Janosik. Submission was tough, but I'll go with any of Fritz Haarmann's subs, especially his one over Wysocki.

Reporter: Thank you for your time Josh

The WFL returns for the first time in a week for a stacked card. Live from Hayashi's Lounge in Helsinki, Finland, it's WFL 25- Haeyhae vs Backstrom. Along with that exhilarating Lightweight title fight, we also have a pair of title eliminator bouts, including a much anticipated rematch. Let's get into it:

Preliminary bout #1- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

Fernando Martinez (5-5) {1-3} versus Michal Nogueria (5-10) {1-1}

Both of these fighters are looking to rebound from tough losses and gain some traction in this loaded 205 lb division. Nogueria is a striker by trade, winning four of his five by way of KO. Martinez on the other hand is a tough grappler, but he has had trouble having success on the ground so far in the WFL. In this one, however, Martinez shouldn't have trouble winning the ground battle, and I think he takes home a second round submission.

Preliminary bout #2- Middleweight fight (185 lbs)

Very Magnum (6-9) {0-3} versus Adam Slate (3-2) {2-1}
A rematch of two guys looking to get back on their feet in the 185 lb division takes place here. In their first bout Slate surprised me and was able to control the BJJ Brown Belt and win a decision. In this one, Magnum will need to attempt more subs when this one goes to the ground, which it undoubtedly will against the tough wrestler in Slate. Slate is looking to bounce back from a tough loss to Ali Babanov, and I think he does by way of submission.
Preliminary bout #3- Welterweight fight (170 lbs)
#5 Bryan Poison (3-1) {1-1} versus Claus Tanka (1-1) {0-0}
Claus Tanka makes his WFL debut here as he takes on the ranked Bryan Poison. Poison is looking to bounce back from a tough KO loss to Shinya Stanley. Poison is very well rounded, versed in both striking and grappling. In this one, I think his advantage may be in his wrestling and mixing it up with his striking against the boxer Tanka. Tanka hasn't shown overwhelming KO power in his career, so I think Poison takes a decision here.
Preliminary bout #4- Lightweight fight (155 lbs)
Tom Hathaway (2-0) {0-0} versus Anzhor Azhiev (9-30) {1-3}
An interesting matchup here between two guys looking to make a title charge in the 155 lb division. This is the debut of Tom Hathaway, and I must say I am pretty excited. Hathaway is one of the most well rounded fighters in the division, and at just 21 years of age, a true future star in the 155 lb division. Hathaway will want to use his great striking in this one opposite the BJJ purple belt Azhiev. Azhiev has shown a shaky chin in the past, and I think Hathaway wears him down and gets a third round TKO victory.
Preliminary bout #5- Middleweight fight (185 lbs)
Ramazan Astakhov (5-2) {0-0} versus Uzmanov Kiri (1-1) {0-1}
A pair of tough grappler battle here as Ramazan Astakhov makes his much anticipated debut opposite Uzmanov Kiri. These fighters are ridiculously similar, as they both utilize strong wrestling with good BJJ. Astakhov, however, has shown to be quite the finisher in his career, holding 2 KO wins and 3 submission wins in his career. I think that is just what gets Astakhov the victory, as I think he wins by 2nd round submission.
Main Card bout #1- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)
Benny Hill (17-18) {2-4} versus Suliman Kane (6-9) {1-3}
[-149] [+112]
Suliman Kane has always been one of the more talented fighters in the WFL featherweight division, with strong striking and a BJJ Brown Belt, Kane seems like a tough puzzle to solve. However, the one roadblock in Kane's path to greatness has been his chin. In this one, Kane will likely look to strike here, however it may be difficult against great wrestler Hill. Hill will look to take down Kane and work his ground and pound, but that may be difficult against a BJJ brown belt. I think Hil starts strong, but Kane wins by submission in round 2.
Main Card bout #2- Lightweight Title Eliminator fight (155 lbs)
#2 Roufus Kaine (6-1) {3-0} versus Yodthanong Photirat (8-17) {3-3}
[-387] [+263]
Our first of two title eliminators takes place here as Photirat battles Kaine. Both of these men are ruthless strikers, with 11 KOs between them. Kaine is much more well rounded than Photirat, but as long as it stays on the feet this one is a toss up. I think there is a chance Kaine will look to take this one to the ground and use his BJJ purple belt, but there is no doubt he can hold his own on the feet. The difference in this one may be the chin of Photirat, which has shown to be inconsistent in the past, and I think Kaine gets a third round KO and a shot at the title.
Main Card bout #3- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)
#2 Bob Probert (4-1) {3-1} versus Tony Rollins (2-1) {1-1}
[-325] [+227]
One of the most talented strikers in the WFL returns in this one, as Bob Probert takes on Tony Rollins. Probert is a beast of a striker, and this fight would be an absolute blowout if it wasn't for one variable, the dominant wrestling of Tony Rollins. Rollins not only has great wrestling, but ruthless ground and pound as well. However, in this one, I don't think it will matter, and I have Probert sending a message with a first round TKO win.
Co Main Event- Welterweight Title Eliminator fight (170 lbs)
#2 Shinya Stanley (6-3) {4-2} versus #1 Miguel Augusto (9-5) {4-2}
[+132] [-177]
A huge rematch takes place here with a shot at the welterweight title on the line. In their first fight, Stanley started strong, landing good punches, but one Augusto got it to the ground and it was elementary from there, with Augusto taking home an armbar submission. There is no doubt Stanley will look to keep in standing in this one with his strong boxing and good Muay Thai. Augusto has a brown belt in BJJ, and will look to use that again in the rematch. However, I think this time Stanley defends the takedown and KOs Augusto in round 2.
Main Event- Lightweight Title Fight (155 lbs)
Champion Risto Haeyhae (5-1) {4-1} versus #1 Niklas Backstrom (13-3) {1-0}
[-129] [-102]
Here is our main event, and intriguing fight between the champ Risto Haeyhae and challenger Niklas Backstrom. Backstrom is arguably the best grappler in the 155 lb division, but champion Haeyhae will definitely put the to the test. This fight will definitely take place on the ground, and when you look at it on paper, it looks like Backstrom will pull it out easy, but the thing that makes this interesting for me is that Haeyhae went three rounds with Ronaldo Hispanyola, another BJJ brown belt, and won a decision. However, this fight is five rounds instead of three. I think Haeyhae starts strong, but Backstrom pulls off a submission in round four.

The WFL returns to the Underground with a stacked card, headlined by a Light Heavyweight title eliminator bout, and it also features some marquee 145 lb match ups. I'm am very excited to see how this card plays out so let's get into it:

Preliminary bout #1- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

Ricardo Santana (3-0-1) {2-0-1} versus Kevin Stevens (5-3-1) {4-3-1}

[-122] [-108]

The fact that this fight kicks off our card is a testament to how loaded this card is. These two warriors fought to a hotly contested draw in their first bout, but I thought Stevens won. Both of these men will need to fight a little differently than in their first fight. In my opinion, Santana needs to be more aggressive with his striking, where he holds a clear advantage. Stevens, on the other hand, should look to be more effective with his ground and pound and at the same time, look to make sure Santana doesn't reverse his position. This is a tough one to pick, but I will take Santana by decision.

Preliminary bout #2- Heavyweight fight (265 lbs)

#5 Kamala Naamahaara (13-7) {4-2} versus Luigi Fuze (3-0) {2-0}

[-308] [+217}

Luigi Fuze finally returns to the cage tonight, and he has quite an opportunity in front of him as he faces former champ Naamahaara. Fuze is a very strong grappler, and he has two sub wins thus far in his WFL career. However, he is taking a big step up in competition in this bout. Naamahaara is not only a former champ, but he is also one of the most talented strikers in the division, which happens to be the weakness of Fuze, I think Fuze has a decent first round, but I say "Apu" turns it up and finishes Fuze in the second by strikes.

Preliminary bout #3- Middleweight fight (185 lbs)

#1 Juhani Jarvela (19-36) {2-1} versus #3 Doug Pattersson (3-0) {2-0}

[-102] [-129]

One of my favorite fighters in the WFL returns here as Doug Pattersson looks to move to 3-0 in the WFL. He is facing Juhani Jarvela, who has won 5 out of his last 6, all of his wins by first round KO. This fight will go one of two ways. Either Jarvela gets a quick KO or Pattersson takes him down and pounds him out. Either way, the chin of the young Pattersson will undoubtedly be tested in this one. I'm going to take Pattersson by first round TKO.

Main Card bout #1- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)

Tommy Ward (14-4-1) {1-0} versus #5 Octavio Ramos (10-5) {2-1}

[-149] [+112]

This is one of the most interesting bouts on the card without a doubt. Ward has entered the WFL with a ton of hype, and came through in his debut, winning a decision over Artie Lange. He is taking a step up in competition here as he takes on ranked Octavio Ramos, however it could earn him a title shot. Ramos is coming off a tough decision loss to James Jaffer, but the supremely talented boxer will look to bounce back here. Ward will look to follow the blueprint of Jaffer, who took Ramos down and controlled him for three rounds. Ramos, on the other hand, will undoubtedly look to strike. This is a tough one to pick, but I will take Ward by second round TKO with ground and pound.

Main Card bout #2- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)

#4 Artair Dostan (11-7-1) {4-3} versus Calvin Revengedanger (4-2) {2-0}

[-159] [+119]

Artair Dostan will look to make in 3 in a row here as he takes on talented striker Calvin Revengedanger. At just 20 years old, Revengedanger is one of the most promising prospects in the WFL. In my opinion, he has some of the best Muay Thai in the world. But he is taking up a big step up in competition when he faces Artair Dostan. Dostan is very well rounded, and although he likes to strike, he may want to wrestle Revengedanger here. This is a really tough one to pick, but I'm going to say Dostan grinds out a decision victory, but I wouldn't be surprised if Revengedanger picks up the KO.

Main Card bout #3- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

#3 Brad May (3-0) {2-0} versus Daniel Carneiro (22-13) {0-1}

[-207] [+153]

In a very interesting matchup, one of the top prospects at 205, Brad May, battles grappler and veteran Daniel Carneiro. Carneiro is no slouch on the feet, but he will definitely look to take Brad May down here. May ran into a bit of trouble in the first round of his last bout, but he was able to overcome wrestler Kevin Stevens in the second. The difference in this one is that Carneiro, unlike Stevens, has ridiculous submissions. I think Carneiro gets this one to the ground and submits May in the first.

Co Main Event- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)

#3 Andrzej Rostowski (15-17) {4-3} versus Reinaldo Aruba (8-4) {2-2}

[-149] [+112]

After a brief hiatus, Reinaldo Aruba makes his much anticipated return to the WFL cage here, and he will face vet Rostowski. Both of these fighters are very similar, relying on their world class grappling to win their fights. In this one however, Rostowski may want to go with his superior striking to win this one, but something tells me this will turn into a grapplefest. These fighters are very evenly matched on the ground, Aruba possibly having a wrestling advantage. I think the difference in this one is the experience of Rostowski, and I think that gets him a decision victory over a game Aruba.

Main Event- Light Heavyweight Title Eliminator fight (205 lbs)

#3 Don Schmidt (7-2) {5-2} versus #5 Ahti Ahven (6-5) {3-1}

[-257] [+185]

Don Schmidt will look to finally complete his climb back to a title shot as he battles the streaking Ahti Ahven in our main event. With both of these men being strikers, we are sure to have a barnburner on our hands. Both of these men have been nothing but impressive in their last two bouts, both winning first round KOs. Ahven is the more well rounded striker, but there is no doubt the power and boxing lies on the side of the popular Schmidt. I think the biggest difference in this one is the chin of Ahven. Schmidt has proved he has a decent chin, while Ahven has been KO'd 5 times. I'll take Schmidt by first round KO.

Tommy Ward has decided to sit down for a quick interview after his fight.

Interviewer- "Another win. You're officially 2-0 in WFL. How does that feel?"

Ward-" Whatever. 2 fights don't mean much."

Interviewer- " I know you are not a fan of decisions. You prefer finishes. So how does it make you feel that you got another decision win?"

Ward-" Would you ask some serious questions? Honestly? You know I am not a big fan of decisions so how do you think I feel."

Interviewer- "There is talk of you getting a.."

Ward *cuts him off*- "Don't say it. You know what here it is 2 wins. Take them at what you will. I am here to compete. That's it. It isn't up to me if I get a title shot or not. I take the fight given. Poopha has a fight on the 17th and I would rather not be stuck waiting. So if anyone wants to step up and take me on ANYONE at all I will take the fight. Then again Revendanger is the only one without a fight/fight offer. And we all know it isn't in his best interest to fight me. So if no one will take me then I wait and see the owner wants. In other words ask him what is next for me. Now shut up and find a new job" *gets up and leaves*

Interviewer- "Oh....Okay"

Champion: Oskar Wysocki (8-1) {7-1}http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20131222000642Belt2blank.jpg

Wow. I was utterly shocked at the dominating performance Oskar Wysocki put on against the WFL's golden boy Fritz Haarmann at WFL 24. The Polish stud beat down Haarmann for a solid 25 minutes en route to a UD victory, and in doing so, captured the title.

1. Fritz Haarmann (10-1) {5-1}

Haarmann suffered a tough defeat at the hands of Wysocki, but I think it's needless to say "The Butcher of Hanover" will be back

  • 2 weeks later...

Live from The Underground in Helsinki, Finland, the Warrior Fight League holds its biggest event yet, with 3 title fights on the card. The event, entitled 'Resolution', will be headlined by a clash of titans between Oskar Wysocki and Don Schmidt for the WFL LHW title. Let's get into it:

Preliminary bout #1- Welterweight fight (170 lbs)

Harvey Jackman (2-1) {0-0} versus Thomas Raith (19-25) {1-1}

Harvey Jackman makes his highly anticipated WFL debut here against veteran Thomas Raith. Jackman is just 19 years old, but trust me when I say the kid has some serious talent and a very well rounded game. In this one, Raith should look to take it to the ground, because he is clearly overmatched on the feet. Jackman can go to the ground if he feels comfortable, but I think he tries to keep this one standing, and I say he succeeds and scores a second round KO.

Preliminary bout #2- Middleweight fight (185 lbs)

Luiz Carvalho (5-4) {1-2} versus #5 Tomas Skalinskas (3-2) {2-2}

Carvalho and Skalinskas battle here to see who stays relevant in the middleweight division. Skalinskas is coming off of a quick KO loss to Juhani Jarvela, while Carvalho was pounded out by Ali Babanov. These two fighters are fairly even, both being well versed in all facets of MMA. From what I have observed, I think Carvalho has the better chin and better KO power, so I will take him by first round KO.

Preliminary bout #3- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)

Artie Lange (15-13) {3-2} versus Jaromir Jag (30-48-2) {1-2}

Jag returns to the WFL cage here to battle fellow vet Artie Lange. Both of these men are fairly well rounded, but they both prefer to grapple. Jag, one of the most experienced guys in the world, will definitely have the edge in striking here, but he may have trouble keeping it standing against a good wrestler in Lange. Lange will need to use his good top control to win this one. I will say Jag comes out on top by decision.

Preliminary bout #4- Heavyweight fight (265 lbs)

Valera Kamenskiy (9-17) {2-2} versus Kim Jong Un (9-13) {2-0}

A pair of heavyweight vets will look to toss their name into title contention with a win here. Un has been great thus far in his WFL career, winning his first two fights in convincing fashion. He faces a stern test here against well rounded Valera Kamenskiy. Kamenskiy should look to utilize his superior striking in this battle in order to defeat "The Korean King". I think Un eventually gets this one to the ground and submits Kamenskiy in round 2.

Preliminary bout #5- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

David Thompson (5-1) {4-1} versus Iggor Souza (4-5) {1-2}

David Thompson makes his much anticipated return here as he takes on Iggor Souza. Thompson is looking to bounce back from the first loss of his career, a decision loss to tough wrestler Kevin Stevens. This one, however, should be an all out striking war. Souza specializes in the art of Muay Thai. Thompson, a former 2x amateur boxing gold medalist, relies on his technical prowess and sneaky KO power to win his fights. Thompson has a KO power edge, and Souza has a shaky chin, so I will take Thompson by third round TKO.

Main Card bout #1- Welterweight bout (170 lbs)

#2 Alexander Pichushkin (5-1) {3-0} versus Holy Diver (9-14) {1-1}

[-163] [+122}

Pichushkin enters this bout against Diver with a title shot on the line. Diver has a clear advantage in the grappling department here, but if he chooses to strike against "the Chessboard Killer", he will get KO'd, and I can guarantee that. Pichushkin may have some trouble staying on his feet on this one, but I think eventually he connects and puts Diver to sleep.

Main Card bout #2- Heavyweight fight (265 lbs)

Rsgrhrhr Hrjrgjsjs (6-0) {3-0} versus Nathan Lee (6-3) {0-0}

After being one of the first signee's of the WFL, Nathan Lee finally makes his debut here against the undefeated Hrjrgjsjs. Lee is very well rounded, well versed in boxing and BJJ. Hrjrgjsjs will have to rely on his top game and his sub defense if he wants to win this one. Lee should look to keep it standing and test his opponents chin, as well as fishing for subs on the ground. I will take Lee by second round sub.

Main Card bout #3- Featherweight Title Fight (145 lbs)

Champion Anucha Poopha (12-2) {4-0} versus #1 James Jaffer (19-6-1) {2-0}

[-129] [-102]

Our first of three title fights on this card takes place in the featherweight division, as grappler James Jaffer takes on champion striker Anucha Poopha. Poopha has some great Muay Thai, as well as staggering KO power, which is something Jaffer has to look out for. Jaffer is a fantastic grappler, easily one of the best in the business. The questions in this fight is will Jaffer be able to stand with Poopha and will Poopha be able to stay on his feet. I think both of those questions answer favorable to Jaffer, and I predict we will have a new champ; Jaffer by decision.

Co-Main Event- Middleweight Title Fight (185 lbs)

Champion Las Mambo (13-1) {4-0} versus #1 Juhani Jarvela (20-36) {3-1}

[-614] [+376]

We have a great rematch here in our co main event, this time it's for the WFL Middleweight belt. In their first bout, Mambo took down Jarvela quickly and submitted him with a kimura. Since then, Jarvela has been on a tear, winning three fights in a row, all by KO. Mambo has also been pretty darn good, as he is yet to go the distance in his WFL career. The gameplans are pretty clear here on both sides, but I don't see this one going much differently than the first; Mambo by submission in the first.

Main Event- Light Heavyweight Title Fight (205 lbs)

Champion Oskar Wysocki (8-1) {7-1} versus #3 Don Schmidt (8-2) {6-2}

[-376] [+276]

Wysocki looks to make his first title defense here against fan favorite and striking juggernaut Don Schmidt. Schmidt has climbed his way all the way back up to a title shot after losing to Fritz Haarmann, and he has won three in a row, all by first round KO. Wysocki on the other hand, is coming off of his upset of Fritz Haarmann. Wysocki will look to take this one to the ground and beat up the superior striker in Schmidt. I think Schmidt starts off strong, but I think Wysocki gets it to the canvas and wins by second round sub.

Late Night Interview:

Interviewer: Good evening to all fans of mixed martial arts. My name is Jerome Gregory, and it is your beloved late-night program here called Fighting Words. Tonight I have the opportunity to be here with MMA rising star, David Thompson known by the nickname "El Toro". Hello David.

David Thompson: Hello to you too Jerome and thank you for inviting me to your program.

Interviewer: At the beginning I would like to congratulate you, of course, the last win. Your fight with Iggor Souza is supposed to be a great return after extremely hard to swallow defeat because of Kevin Stevens. I have to admit that I never doubted you, as I predicted your winning, but your finish and dominance in this fight surprised many of us.

David Thompson: Thank you for your kind words. I had to change a little bit my game plan, which was even shown in my previous fights. It is known that in this business you have to work on every aspect of the game and you have to be a complete fighter to become the best. Everything is simple in theory, but the practice is unfortunately ordeal.

Interviewer: You certainly know it better than we do, because we can only be observers and we do not have the practical experience. Am I right? * smiled. *

David Thompson: * he laughed. * No, no, that's not what I meant. Just like you could not be a fighter in the cage or ring, so I could not be an expert just the way that you are.

Interviewer: Well, God's truth. I just wanted to check one more thing - it's your first win the fight, which ended in the first round. Does it matter? You wanted it to end quickly or as usual you base on your technique and skills, which resulted in somewhat knockout in the first round?

David Thompson: Jerome you know very well that I always lean on my skills, not aggression or explosion. I think if I strive for knockouts at any price I'd lost most of my previous clashes.

Interviewer: I heard that you changed your weight and now you will fight in a middleweight. Is this true? How do you think it will affect your career David?

David Thompson: I have not changed too much weight. I just decided to go to another division. Naturally, I weigh about 200 pounds and maybe I could even fight in the heavyweight division, but I would not feel comfortable there. There is too much weight for me, and as a fighter in the middleweight I can maintain my speed and stamina. I do not know what the future holds, but I hope that I succeed, and I will do my best to make it happen. Perhaps one day I will return to light heavyweight. We'll see.

Interviewer: Okay, so I would like to ask you how you see your duel with Fritz Haarman if it happened?

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32b14.jpgVS http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/28/28w11.jpg

David Thompson: * sigh. * It's hard to say, man. Not only he is my friend, but he is a hell of a good mixed martial arts fighter. First of all, I prefer to fight standing, he's the opposite - on the ground. I could not predict my own struggle with Haarman, but you probably would you describe this in a "sink or swim" sentence. One or the other will win and the fight will not last until the end of the last round.

Interviewer: I'm sorry that I asked you a difficult question, but I wanted something to throw an image that you supposedly talked to Josh James, and you also want to publish your own analysis of individual battles on the events. This is exciting news! Where did you get that idea?

David Thompson: Perhaps I wish to follow in your footsteps, and after my career as a fighter I would like to try my hand at one of the journalism branch. I like to watch the fight and I would like to predict them. Not so much I need the permission of the branch to this, but I wanted to know how Josh sees my actions. He is not disappointed in anyway and gives me a lot of freedom. I appreciate that fact.

Interviewer: I can not wait to implement your plans. It's something worth seeing I think. After a few commercials we will soon return to the show. With us is David "El Toro" Thompson ...

The WFL heads back to the Underground in Helsinki, Finland with a loaded card, headlined by a much anticipated welterweight title fight between Rafael Gomez and former champ Miguel Augusto. Terry Aunor also returns on this card to rematch Benny Hill. Let's get into it:

Due to time constraints fewer bouts will be previewed

Preliminary bout #4- Light Heavyweight Fight (205 lbs)

Tony Rollins (2-2) {1-2} versus Michal Nogueira (6-10) {2-1}

Michal Nogueira will look to continue his winning way and thrust himself into title contentions with win over tough wrestler Tony Rollins here. Rollins' record is very misleading, as his only two losses are to champion Oskar Wyscoki and former #1 contender Bob Probert. Rollins is one of the best wrestlers in the WFL and he matches that skill set with some nasty ground and pound. Nogueira will look to strike, but I see Rollins getting this one to the canvas quickly and winning by first round TKO.

Main Card bout #1- Heavyweight Fight (265 lbs)

Gary Stilies (6-6) {1-2} versus Mike Tyson (6-6) {1-1}

[-198] [+146]

The young Stilies finally tallied his first WFL win by way of decision over Valera Kamenskiy. Stilies showcased his top-flight boxing skills in that bout, picking apart the veteran Kamenskiy. Tyson in his last bout also displayed impressive striking as well and good top control on the mat. Stilies will look to keep this one standing, while Tyson may mix it up on the feet but ultimately try to take this one to the mat. Tyson has never been KO'd, so I will take Stilies by decision.

Main Card bout #2- Welterweight fight (170 lbs)

#5 Bryan Poison (4-1) {2-1} versus Lincoln Osiris (2-1) {0-0}

[-106] [-124]

Lincoln Osiris, one of the many new talents in the WFL's welterweight division, will duke it out opposite the well rounded Bryan Poison. The young and talented Osiris boasts a very strong grappling game as well and improving standup. This would be a big win for the ranked Bryan Poison, as he is looking to establish himself as a true contender. Poison will look to stand in this one and test the chin of Osiris. I think Poison has early success, but Osiris gets this one to the mat and wins by second round sub.

Main Card bout #3- Lightweight fight (155 lbs)

Yodthanong Photirat (8-18) {3-4} versus Tom Hathaway (3-0) {1-0}

[+124] [-166]

This is truly one of the most intriguing battles on the card, as undefeated prospect Tom Hathaway looks to get by veteran gatekeeping Yod Photirat. These two fighters are very evenly matched in both the striking and the grappling. One may think that Hathaway will use ground and pound to defeat Photirat, but Hathaway has never used his wrestling offensively, he mostly uses it to stay on his feet. Photirat has the experience edge in this one, and I think he uses that to pull a decision.

Co Main Event- Featherweight fight (145 lbs)

#3 Terry Aunor (17-6) {5-2} versus Benny Hill (18-18) {3-4}

[-365] [+250]

Aunor will look to rebound from his title loss to Anucha Poopha in a rematch here against the always tough Benny Hill. Hill is coming off of an impressive TKO win over Suliman Kane. Hill is a dominant wrestler, and he will definitely want to use that against one of the best strikers in the WFL in Terry Aunor. Aunor dominated their first contest for a full four rounds before TKOing Hill in the fifth. I think Aunor comes out aggressive, looking to send a message, and KO's Hill in the first.

Main Event- Welterweight Title Fight (170 lbs)

Champion Rafael Gomez (5-0) {4-0} versus #1 Miguel Augusto (10-5) {5-2}

[-177] [+132]

Welterweight champ Rafael Gomez finally returns to the cage here as he battles veteran and former champ Miguel Augusto. Since losing his title, Augusto has pulled off two first round submissions. Gomez is coming off of his victory over Walter Bishop, a fight in which he won by first round TKO after he smashed Bishop's face with a knee and followed up with punches. There is little doubt in the minds of anyone what the game plans are in this one. Gomez will look to use his Muay Thai to KO his opponent, while Augusto will look to take down the champ early and often. I think Gomez starts strong, but I think August gets this one to mat and submits his foe at the very end of round one.

After just a three day hiatus, the Warrior Fight League returns to the Underground in Helsinki, Finland with a loaded card headlined by an exciting lightweight title fight between the perennial underdog Risto Haeyhae and #1 contender Roufus Kaine. Let's get into it:

Prelim bout #1- Lightweight Fight (155 lbs)

livari Uhri (2-1) {2-1} versus Travis Milnes (1-2) {0-2}

A pair of young lightweights battle it out here in our first fight of the evening. Uhri has been one of the more impressive fighters in the 155 lb division thus far, and he will look to continue that here. He is coming off of a stunning superman punch KO of veteran Cesys Kazlauskas at WFL 26. Milnes has struggled to gain traction so far in his WFL career, but he enters a very evenly matched bout here against Uhri. These guys are pretty even wherever the fight goes, but I think Uhri uses the momentum he has coming in to knock off Milnes by decision.

Prelim bout #2- Lightweight Fight (155 lbs)

Ric Borden (2-1) {1-0} versus Joakim Akterhall (2-2) {2-1}

In my humble opinion, this is the most intriguing and exciting fight on the card tonight. Former title challenger and one of the best strikers in the division in Joakim Akterhall takes on the Muay Thai machine known as Ric Borden. Both of these men are true prospects at 155 lbs, boasting a combined age of just 40 years. There is no doubt this one will stay on the feet. Akterhall is the more well rounded of the two. Borden will need to use his kicks and knees to win this one. I think Akterhall has the better chin, and I think he takes home a third round TKO.

Prelim bout #3- Light Heavyweight bout (205 lbs)

Oruku Saki (1-0) {0-0} versus Heikki Hirvonen (5-8) {1-5}

Oruku Saki will look to make a splash here in his sophomore effort here in the WFL when he takes on well rounded Heikki Hirvonen. Saki is a rapidly improving striker with a decent ground game to go with it. I think Hirvonen should look to go to the ground to win this one. However, Saki has great defensive wrestling, which is why I think Saki picks up a first round KO win.

Main Card bout #1- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

#3 (MW) Ali Babanov (4-0) {3-0} versus Mahmud Magomedov (5-4) {0-0}

[-173] [+129]

Ali Babanov will make his much anticipate 205 lb debut here against the well round Magomedov. Magomedov is making his debut in the WFL here, and he would certainly make a splash if he took out the undefeated Babanov. For Babanov to stay undefeated, he will have to use his blistering top game to wear down the superior striker in Magomedov. If Magomedov can keep it standing for long enough, he can possibly get a KO. I will take Babanov by decision in a back and forth affair.

Main Card bout #2- Light Heavyweight fight (205 lbs)

#2 Bob Probert (5-1) {4-1} versus Kevin Stevens (5-4-1) {4-4-1}

[-387] [+263]

Bob Probert will look to position himself for another title shot here as he battles another wrestler in Kevin Stevens. Stevens is coming off of a brutal KO loss to Ricardo Santana, while Probert is coming off of a nice KO over Tony Rollins. Probert is arguably the best boxer in the WFL, and he has an ever improving ground game to go with it. Stevens will look to take Probert down and pound him out, but I see Probert getting a quick first round KO.

Main Card bout #3- Featherweight Fight (145 lbs)

Andrzej Rostowski (15-18) {4-4) versus Octavio Ramos (10-6) {2-2}

[-143] [+108]

A pair of WFL vets look to throw themselves back into the title mix with a win here. Ramos is coming off of a tough decision loss to Tommy Ward, while Rostowski was beaten at his own game by grappler Reinaldo Aruba in his last appearance. Rostowski's edge in this one, as usual, will be his grappling, while Ramos will look to use his great boxing to KO his opponent. I see Ramos starting strong, but Rostowski controlling the final two rounds to win a decision.

Co Main Event- Heavyweight fight (265 lbs)

#5 Kamala Naamahaara (14-7) {5-2} versus Ghiorghos Papadopoulos (15-19) {0-1}

[-185] [+138]

Boy do I feel bad for whoever has to announce these two guys' names in this one. All jokes aside, this is an intriguing battle between two titans at heavyweight. The former champ Naamahaara finally bounced back with a nice KO win over Bubba James. He will look to inch closer to getting his title back here against his opponent. "Zeus" has the wrestling advantage and will look to utilize that, but he has no chin so I see Naamahaara getting a first round KO.

Main Event- Lightweight Title Fight (155 lbs)

Champion Risto Haeyhae (6-1) {5-1} versus #1 Roufus Kaine (7-1) {4-0}

[-102] [-129]

All I have ever done is doubt Risto Haeyhae, and boy, has he proved me wrong. The 155 lb champ has now defended his title twice already, which is tied for the most title defenses in WFL history. He will be taking on quite a challenge here in Roufus Kaine. "Ruthless" is a great striker with a nice ground game as well. Haeyhae should look to take his to the canvas and use his unparalleled top control if he wants to win this one. I think Kaine starts strong, but I think Haeyhae squeaks out a close decision win to retain his title.

Shinya Stanley: I started too slow and Thunder Jackson took the first two rounds. I won the 3rd, but too little too late. My hat's off to him. Good fight. 100% fight rating! That having been said, had this fight been a 5 rounder, I'm confident I would have won. Let's do an immediate rematch, whatasay Thunder? Josh?
