zare666
when I bid on a company .... I could not see any other bidders ... so I just put a little on it ... much to my surprise I did not get it .... ... it would be nice to see a bid tally ... so you can see if there are other bidders or you have not bid enough
DaBest
Even if you bid say $200,000 for a company but the highest bid is say $110,000 you would win but pay just over what the next highest bidder was.

I thought you would still pay $200k.

Skap
Where can you see what others have bid on a company? I dont see it either? Â I think we should have the option of outbidding someone by knowing what they have bid.

Skap
Yes Coton like Ebay or any other auction is run you can see what the current bid is... I don't see current bids on companies here and think it would be better if we could.

Common when bidding on foreclosed homes and in charity auctions.
zare666
silent auction or not ... I would like to see what the highest bid is .. if I bid on it ..... maybe it does not need displayed to all unless you are bidding on it
Meat
pretty sure eveas is right, you still pay what you bid Pretty sure both you and Eveas are right.
Eveas
If you could see the bids everyone would just outbid the previous guy $1 at a time and the guy who was on 1 minute before bidding closed would win. It would either be a huge hassle checking every 2 minutes or even worse no one would bid until the last second picking up the business for peanuts. One of the best parts of doing it as a silent auction and a big reason charities like it is that if you don't know if you will win you tend to bid more. That takes more money out of the game which is a good thing.
Skap
Ok I see your point Eveas and it makes a lot of sense. Â Do silent auctions let you know if there has been a bid at all? Without a monetary amount shown of course. Im obviously not familiar with them.

Just wondering, are you allowed to set a reserve (minimum selling price) or does it just go to the highest bidder regardless of the price ? Eveas
In life yes. In game I haven't put anything up for bid to see if the option was there.
