Several of FV’s top contenders will be in action along with the two champions at Lightweight and Light Heavyweight as Johann Joensen and Jamalski Ramirezovic defend their respective titles against two hungry challengers. Main Event Lobsta "HIGH TILL I DIE" Mang (25-11-0) vs Arvydas Sabonis (24-11-0) It is not often we here at Championship Press Association cover an event and feel that putting two debutants in the main event is fair or the right thing to do but in this case we 100% agree with the match-making and the decision of Frank King to make it the main event of FV #22. When two competitors – such as the ones featured in this bout – come into the company with this stature and reputation we fully support it and know the fans will be getting their full money’s worth. Mang comes into the organisation as one of the most versatile fighters it has signed having picked up a total of 25 victories with 14 by (T)KO, 3 by Submission and the rest by Decision. He has competed in a variety of organisations but had his most successful run in Cage Wars Hilo during his first run with the company, where he picked up a huge total of 8 straight victories. Arvydas Sabonis comes into Forbidden Violence as one of the biggest signings the company has made (along with the recent acquisition of the Ali Baba Mohammed) since its beginning and comes to FV after a sensational spell in GAMMA. During his time there, Sabonis picked up three straight victories against top opposition but left the company, after losing his well-earned title shot, due to the speculation around the GAMMA and its ownership. He’ll be looking to pick up where he left off before that title shot and dominate during his time with Forbidden Violence. This fight should really truly be one for the ages as two of the hottest signings in Forbidden Violence face of in the debuts, with both trying to make a statement. A lot of fans feel Sabonis comes into this fight the favourite but is coming of the back of a loss in that GAMMA title shot, while Mang has some momentum following his victory over Miko Maia (a 2nd round TKO stoppage win). Not much of an edge in this one for either competitor and we should look for a finish but I wouldn’t want to be a punter placing a bet in this one, as it could go either way! Light Heavyweight Title Match-up *Champion* Jamalski Ramirezovic (23-21-0) vs Gegard Mousasi (29-6-1) One of two title fights on the card – alongside the Lightweight title match-up between Joensen and Vinayagamoorthy – is the Light Heavyweight bout between Jamalski Ramirezovic and Gegard Mousasi for Ramirezovic and it will have all the fans talking leading into this one. If you’re looking for an edge one competitor has over the other it may possibly be in the ground game of Mousasi who is a Black belt in BJJ but the chances of getting the champion on his back are slim. The Champion will be going in feeling confident in his takedown defence and defensive grappling to keep him safe when the fight is not on his favoured position. Ramirezovic will definitely want to keep the fight standing and let his fists do the talking as he looks for a – unlucky for some – 13th victory by (T)KO. The Forbidden Violence original has been here since FV #2, having won six and only ever lost once – a title fight to Jethro Savage. Champion vs Challenger is all this fight needs to be billed as, as these two men need (and have fiven) few words before a fight publically, but you can guarantee these huge men will leave it all in the cage and go to war Saturday. I’m glad I’m not a betting man because I’d hate to have to call this one before it starts, it’s challenger Mousasi vs the champion, Jamalski Ramirezovic and it’s going to be a great one! Main Card Mirko "The Angel Of Death" McCracken (17-8) vs Vinícius "Pontão" Cavalcante (22-3) Vinícius "Pontão" Cavalcante is a real force to deal with and showed just that in his debut for Forbidden Violence at FV Midweek #3 when he beat Jordan Johnson by unanimous decision. Mirko McCraken is the former Super Heavyweight champion of FV and will be looking to get back on his feet and straight back into the title picture after losing his belt to the reigning champion Nick Foles (Foles will defend his belt @ FV #23 against Ali Baba Mohammed). This fight has the makings of a real classic as McCraken is clearly the better boxer between the two but “Pontao” will look to utilize his advantage on the ground over “The Angel of Death” and force a submission against this hugely supported and hyped former champions. If Cavalcante can get the fight to the ground you have to feel this bout will be over quickly but the Brazilian is no slouch on his feet even, with a strong Muay-Thai background. We look forward to this one here in the MMA Grand and the fans should blow the roof of the place when the former champion emerges into the isle way. "Kamikaze" Yoshiro Gomi (19-18) vs "Quick Popper" Orville Redenbacher (36-13-1) If you are looking for a fight featuring two men who love to finish but in very different styles, this fight is the one for you featuring the submission artist Yoshiro Gomi against the striking specialist Orville Redenbacher. 15 of “Kamikaze”’s wins have come from submission while an incredible 28 of “Quick Poppers” have been from TKO or KO which are incredible numbers. This one should be exciting for the fans, although many see it as Gomi either has to finish or run the risk of losing by decision (as he has done 13 times previously out of 16 decision s he’s gone too). DeAngelo Suggs (9-3) vs Charles "The Hand Grenade" Handly (26-18) The fans of Forbidden Violence love to see one of their younger hot prospects face off against a more experienced member of the roster and this will happen when rookie DeAngelo Suggs faces veteran Charles Handley. ”The Hand Grenade” will look to explode in the face of Suggs and destroy any plans the 25-year-old had of winning this fight and rightly Handly does go in the odds on favourite for this one but some people say there is no replacement for hunger, and hunger is just what Suggs is. Suggs will be looking to make it a streak of 5 successive victories while Handly will look to continue his recovery – after winning his FV debut – of the same number of losses in a row during the end of his Bushido career. The winner of this one will really put a lot of people not only in the lightweight division on notice, but also the entire organisation. In terms of skill and popularity this may not be the most anticipated fight of the night but it certainly has potential to be the fight of the night on Saturday. Lightweight Title Fight *Champion* "Stallion" Johann Joensen (37-26) vs Ring Vinayagamoorthy (5-6) One of the biggest bouts at FV 22 is the fight between current Lightweight Champion Johann Joensen and Ring Vinayagamoorthy, as the Spanish “Stallion” looks to defend his new title against the former champion in a rematch from FV Midweek #4. That fight went right the way to the wire, going the full five round distance as Joensen edged out Vinayagamoorthy and took the win by Split Decision. Some fans feel that the decision should’ve been Unanimous in favour of Joensen but every Forbidden Violence fan agrees on one thing, and that’s that they want to see these two men go at it against – especially after their Fight of the Night performance last time. Johann Joensen, after winning the title on May 28th, was ready to move on from this post fight asking who’s next at the end of his press conference but did have this to say of his opposition on Saturday; “Thank you to all the fans for tonight and my opponent, I was better but kid, you earned my respect. I'll see you around some time!” That time came sooner than expected for the new Lightweight Champion and it’ll be interesting to see how these two men fair off after their brutal fight a mere 10 days ago when they fight once more with so little rest. When you look at these two fighters of paper Joensen seems clearly the favourite to defend his belt but Vinayagamoorthy – dubbed “Soul Captain” by his opponent Saturday night – will be looking to use some of that heart and soul to cause the upset. You have to feel his best chance of doing that will be on the ground, as the “Stallion” is one of the best on his feet not just at Lightweight but also on the entire Forbidden Violence roster. We look forward to another hard thought fight and we can only hope that Vinayagamoorthy has recovered from his injuries in such a short space of time before he faces the fresher – and relatively unscathed from their last battle – champion, Johann Joensen. Under Card Ford "The Alien" Prefect (18-14) vs Mark "Mean Streak" Tanner (16-14) These two men both stepped up to the plate when owner Frank King needed a fight to replace one that had to be cancelled and after both men had only fought one week ago Saturday, it’ll be interesting to see how a lack of preparation and fitness will affect the two competitors. They both had very contrasting fortunes at FV #21 with Perfect suffering a loss against D. Garcia and Tanner taking an impressive victory against Penn Alliance. This time out will be interesting to see what they can muster so soon after hard fought fights that both reached the third round but they will both give it their best shot to put on a show and take the W. "Cowboy" Jon Monroe (17-10-1) vs Marlon "The Predator" Worthy (25-17-0) The “Cowboy” will be taking his first fight for Forbidden Violence away from the midweek events since his arrival when Jon Monroe takes on Marlon “The Predator” Worthy. Both me take this fight against the other off the back of losses but neither will be too concerned as they are both capable of pulling off wins in any situation. Monroe has been called into question several times though for not being able to pull it off when it really matters. The “Cowboy” has had 5 title fights in his career and not been able to take the win in a single one of them, while on the other side of the cage will be a man they named the “Predator” for his ability to hunt and finish his opponent, along with title belts. Worthy has referenced this difference in success to several fans so it is clear his confidence and moral is high, it’ll just be interesting to see how this plays out. The Steel Penn Alliance (5-10) vs Cletus "The All American" White (15-16) These two fighters’ careers mirror each other very closely, but not in the positive way you normally read of when an article hypes a fight. They both started their careers 4-2 and looking ahead with a bright future in front of them. Now they both come into this fight having lost 9 fights in the combined last 10 fights and each on a 4 & 5 losing streak respectively so this fight holds gigantic repercussions for the career or each fighter. A win for either man could really turn around their career and give them some light that they could go on to bring fights back under their control and gain some confidence – but that’ll be easier said than done! Personally I see White having the advantage but having only taken 1 win in his last 7 fights confidence is going to be rock bottom, it’s the same story for Penn Alliance as he has only snatched 1 victory in his last 9 fights so anything could happen in this one. I see it being a real dog fight and the man that lays it on the line and comes out fighting will take it and may set themselves back on course. With two titles on the line the fans will have something to really look forward to and with several fan favourites being featured in high class bouts it gives them even more hope for a top card. But with that being said I want to know what that third judge was smoking? Awarding a 46:49? King you need to get him checked under the drug testing policy as that crazy fool was clearly on something. You look at the stat's of shots landed, control of the cage, who defended better and it is completely even across the board. I hate a draw as much as the next fan, I really do, but I think the boo's were not reigning down out of disappointment for the draw, just one judges abysmal scoring." All I can say is, DeAngelo Suggs take a bow son, great performances especially after going in as slight underdog. To the fans on social media calling for that match up, tell Frank king I'm happy for it to happen. If the fans want Suggs vs "Stallion" then I want it too." One title fight on a card is normally a treat but two is great and that’s what the fans got Saturday night, along with 8 other fights including an incredible main event. Main Event Lobsta "HIGH TILL I DIE" Mang (25-11-0) vs Arvydas Sabonis (24-11-0) The main event of the evening featured two debutants who’s arrival in Forbidden Violence had been hyped so large the fans knew exactly what they were going to get. With a former GAMMA title challenger in Sabonis in the main even you know you’re going to be in for a treat and the fans were not left disappointed with this one, as it picked up the Fight of the Night award (sponsored by HGH Nutrients). Sabonis truly didn’t disappoint fans expectations of him in this one as he dominated Mang for the majority of the 2 rounds this fight saw before Sabonis emerged winner by TKO. In the first round Sabonis pilled on pressure to Lobsta Mang and went on to cut him halfway through but the heart of Mong kept the fight alive. The second round was a similar story but Mang could do nothing to hold off the former-GAMMA fighter. Sabonis finished the fight in style – after cutting Mang open – with a big right hand, which sent the Mang down before Arvydas jumped down to finish him off and force the official to call a half to the bout. Post -fight Mang demanded a rematch and it’ll be interesting to see if this will be granted at any point in the future, but for now, I think you can safely say it’s Sabonis’ time to shine. Light Heavyweight Title Match-up *Champion* Jamalski Ramirezovic (23-21-0) vs Gegard Mousasi (29-6-1) The second championship bout on the card was in the Light Heavyweight division (~205lbs) and was the main topic of talk from the fans coming into the arena on Saturday night with the Champion Jamalski Ramirezovic And after the event was over this bout was one of the main talking points of the fans on the way out as well and for all of the right reasons. Many expected the champion to retain and control the fight but those thoughts were put to bed when in under 30 seconds Mousasi had cut open the head of the champ and was pressing hard causing damage. With blood still flowing from the cut, the champ made it to the interval but barely as Mousasi had controlled the whole first round. The second round continued in a similar vein and Mousasi continued to control the fight well both while stood up and on the ground. With just over a minute to go Mousasi scored a takedown and all he needed was 30 seconds to work the position, getting slightly loose and positioning for a triangle which the champ should’ve defended but didn’t. This cost him the title and gave the win to Mousasi in what was one of the sloppiest title losses I’ve seen in all of Forbidden Violence’s history to end a solid bout. Main Card Mirko "The Angel Of Death" McCracken (17-8) vs Vinícius "Pontão" Cavalcante (22-3) Pure domination is only what Vinícius "Pontão" Cavalcante’s performance can be described as, when the Super Heavyweight beast ripped Mirko McCraken – a formidable opponent on most days in his own right – to shreds within the opening minute of the first round. McCracken was attacked from the offset and never had a chance of getting into the bout before being knocked-out by Cavalcante with one hell of a head kick that could put any man down no matter the size and was very deserving of KO of the night (which it was awarded). Cavalcante controlled the fight landing kick and big kick to the so called “Angel of Death”. Off the bat Cavalcante had knocked McCracken down with a big head kick that also cut McCracken wide open. Seconds later it happened again, this time with a big uppercut from Cavalcante sending McCracken rocked and falling to the canvas. After waving him up a second time, Cavalcante finally put McCracken down with the same headkick that had knocked him down first time to take the victory. It was one minute of pure intensity and destruction and it puts "Pontão" on the map here for good in Forbidden Violence. "Kamikaze" Yoshiro Gomi (19-18) vs "Quick Popper" Orville Redenbacher (36-13-1) Gomi vs Redenbacher was a solid fight for the most part Saturday night that kept the fans engaged for its entirety but it really got going in the third round. After two rounds, which everybody in the arena knew the judges will have scored a round a piece for the two evenly match combatant, both corners knew they were coming into the third round with everything to fight for. And fight they did, while the first two rounds were of decent quality the last was a show stealer. Both “Kamikaze” and “Quick Popper” left it all on the line but it was “QuickPopper” that edged the decision when the final bell rang, taking the fight 29:28 on all three judges’ score cards. The fight was definely won in that last round as Redenbacher busted open Gomi before leaving him on his last legs with seconds to go with a strong left hand. Gomi will be gutted he couldn’t pull it off in the last round but it was a well-deserved victory for Orville Redenbacher and the fans let him know it post fight! DeAngelo Suggs (9-3) vs Charles "The Hand Grenade" Handly (26-18) DeAngelo Suggs took a strong win over Charles Handly on Saturday night by TKO in the second round in a fight that many fans saw the veteran Handly as favourite in. Suggs dominated the first round, with the exception of giving up a takedown but quickly worked his way back to feet and controlled. The second round saw a solid striking display from Suggs as he laid shot after shot on Handly and eventually got the breakthrough when Handly (seemingly dazed) in an act of desperation threw a wild shot at Suggs that Suggs countered with a huge uppercut. The uppercut send “The Hand Grenade” exploding to the mat as Suggs followed him down landing a good couple more shots before the referee could jump between and call a halt to the bout. Lightweight Title Fight *Champion* "Stallion" Johann Joensen (37-26) vs Ring Vinayagamoorthy (5-6) After the last fight these two men had at FV Midweek #4, the fans expected another phenomenal, closely contested war and that is exactly what they got. This fight ended up even more controversial than the first with it resulting in a draw, although the draw was seemingly the right result (although chants of one more round broke out before the decision was announced), it wasn’t until the scoring of the fight was revealed that the controversy began. Judge A scored the victory for the “Stalion” 48:47, Judge B went draw 48:48, while Judge C gave extremely questionable scoring of 46:49 in favour of the challenger. The reigning champion, Johann Joensen , was very quick to comment in his post-fight saying “I want to know what that third judge was smoking? Awarding a 46:49? King you need to get him checked under the drug testing policy as that crazy fool was clearly on something.” It’ll be interesting to see if the champions comments draw any response from Frank King in defence of his judges but one thing is for sure, as confirmed by the owner, Joensen vs Vinayagamoorthy will happen in the future, just it won’t be the champs next match-up. Under Card Ford "The Alien" Prefect (18-14) vs Mark "Mean Streak" Tanner (16-14) A fight that saw the majority of the action on the ground may not have been the highlight of most fans nights but was a solid, technical bout none the less. It also featured combined 17 submission attempts from the two men, of which only two were in the second round and only one was needed to grab Mark Tanner the victory by Armbar (Submission). It was sloppy from “The Alien” following a failed submission attempt on Tanner of his own to allow Tanner to get the space to set it up but once that armbar was on the only way it was coming off was by Prefects tapping. "Cowboy" Jon Monroe (17-10-1) vs Marlon "The Predator" Worthy (25-17-0) Monroe vs Worth was a fight that had the fans interest for its entirety and deservedly so. These two men performed superbly on Saturday night and both men wanted to finish the other. The finish came when a blood soaked Monroe (from an earlier cut) took a good right hook to the temple leaving him dazed and Worthy wasted no time, showing his “Predator” instinct in following up and delivering several vicious strikes as Monroe fell to the ground. “The Predator” took the very impressive TKO win in his stride very humbly and spent more time thanking his fans than looking over the fight post-fight. Wensink (5-4) vs Sonnen (19-15) A last minute addition to the card didn’t disappoint in entertaining the fans as this fight was an exciting contest. Sonnen got the takedown (as most suspected he’d go for) and proceeded to punish Wensink on the ground. The victory finally came for Sonnen (by TKO strikes) when he landed a big left than that left Wensink without the ability to defend himself sensibly and Sonnen made him pay with 3 more big strikes before the official stepped in. The Steel Penn Alliance (5-10) vs Cletus "The All American" White (15-16) These two men just cannot buy a win at the moment and there was no separating Penn Alliance and Cletus White when they met this past Saturday. The fight went the full three round distance and resulted in a draw after the 15minutes were up as the two fighters put on a show for the Las Vegas crowd. The early parts of the fight may have started tentative but by the second and third round these two struggling athletes were going all out for the finish. Hopefully owner and match-maker Frank King will look to book these two for a grudge match to settle a winner. Who would’ve bet that this card would’ve produced two draws. An impressive event once again from Forbidden Violence, scoring a 338 on the MMA Tycoon scoring system. This will definitely be helped by the main event and both of the title matches – particularly Joensen vs Ring in that spectacular draw. The Sal Forlenzo Memorial On Sunday the 15th of June live at Sparta’s Palace (7,000) On a weekend filled with many high profile events now are more so than this one, Championship Press Association brings to you the event preview that is in remembrance for Sal Forlenzo. It has been said before and we’ll say it again on this third memorial event; “Johnny Brickhead was the PLAYER, SAL was the MAN” Main Event Doug Graves (24-13) vs Phil Ivey (42-18) Another former GAMMA title contender joins Forbidden Violence after the controversy around the formerly big organisation left him in need of a new home. Phil Ivey was one of the premier talents at the aforementioned organisation and will be looking to show why he was considered such a top dog, in his debut this Sunday. Ivey said to CPA he was honoured to be making his debut on such a card and wanted to get the win in memory for Sal. He will have a big struggle on his hands though to achieve this as his opponent, former Syn competitor Doug Graves, has proven to be the real deal since joining FV racking up 2 wins in his last couple of fights and making waves in the light heavyweight division. Both men have been finding a lot of finishes lately and the fans will want to see more of it but they’ll also be hoping for their money’s worth and seeing a couple solid and well contested rounds before it comes. Featherweight Title Fight "The One" Daniel Dylan (27-17) vs Lyoto Parks (16-6) This featherweight title fight is one of the most anticipated in the history of the featherweight division in Forbidden Violence as Daniel Dylan looks to defend his belt for the first time against the ever impressive Japanese national Lyoto Parks. Parks lost a closely contested fight against Honor FC top dog, Pitbull, last time out but had already been scheduled for this fight after his incredibly impressive debut at FV #18 against Sau Minneo. Dylan won the belt last time out against Jameson in a fight he was very much the favourite to take but this fight will be a different story as Parks will be a tougher match-up and will be looking to stop “The One” from making his first defence and win his fifth consecutive fight. These two are competent on both feet and when down on the mat but Parks has demonstrated better skill in finishing from the ground. Dylan showed just how unpredictable his offence is with his last fight when he took the W after an impressive Superman Punch KO victory to take the title, so this one should have the fans on the edge of their seats looking for the finish. Main Card Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko (36-25-0) vs "Bad Bad" Leroy Brown (34-16-2) To start his career Leroy Brown went on an insane run of 19 victories in his first 23 fights, unfortunately as the competition stepped up Browns career rounded off a bit and “Bad Bad” Leroy Brown became more, “Occasionally sensational, Occasionally Average” Leroy Brown. With that all being said, the Chicago native is still an exciting fighter to watch who can pull out the spectacular at any point – particularly when he’s on his feet. Emelianenko is a bit more varied than his opponent and is a threat from both the stand up and the ground, with a lot of his victories coming from controlling he ground and getting the submission or controlling the fight for the decision. This fight could go anyway but Brown must be preparing to attempt to halt that world class BJJ of “The Last Emperor” with his solid wrestling, if not he could be in a world of trouble. Ole "Big Iron" Solseng (13-7) vs Grigory "Iron Man" Gukepshev (10-3) Two fighters who may not pick up much hype and prestige but are certainly favourites of the fans are the duo that faces of against one and other in this one here, when the American Solseng meets Gukepshev of Russia. This bout firmly deserves its place on the main card and both men will be looking for a solid win to impress the FV fans and Frank King, along with paying tribute on this emotional night. Only one decision victory in the history of each of these men’s careers so we should be in for an exciting finish and with a couple of Fight on the Night awards this year between them the fight as a whole shouldn’t disappoint. Heavyweight Title Fight "Polan" Titus Arellius (18-9) vs Oleg Karev (31-14) The fight for the Heavyweight title is contested between two very evenly matched fighters who are both very similar in style. Both Arellius and Karev has historically looked for that smash mouth stand and bang style and this should make for a top bout on this very important card. Arellius is arguably one of the best under-30’s in the world of MMA Tycoon but Arellius has had a Journeyman career and looks to settle in Forbidden Violence now as champion. His opponent Karev makes his third Forbidden Violence appearance and he will be wanting to make it three straight wins during his spell here.The fight is pretty even and the fans are expecting a brawl with a lot of the fight being fought on the fighters feet. Neither man really seemingly has an advantage on the ground so I find it unlikely they will want to take the fight their but it could happen. This is MMA and you never truly know what will happen in a fight until it has happened. Undercard Parvati Mellia (7-1) vs Marlon "The Predator" Worthy (26-17) Bulgaria are represented on this FV card when Mellia makes his second FV appearance against the man they call “The Predator” Marlon Worthy. Worthy will be making his third appearance in third weeks, showing what a well-oiled machine he is and you must admire his ability to push off injuries. Worthy would normally come in red hot favourite but some fans have said the fatigue will have to show sooner or later and is he hurt after his last fight or not? That will be seen in this fight which will be a great introduction to the main card. Sean Stone (22-13) vs Mirko "The Angel Of Death" McCracken (17-9) I feel obliged to say with this one I see a stand up vs grappler scenario playing out here. McCracken is the KO king and loves to finish his opponents with one big hit, leaving them like a pile of crumpled rubble whiles Stone will look to have utilize his tough jaw and take the fight to the ground when he can. Although Stone can stand and bang the most sensible idea must be to look to bring McCracken down and work on him there. Arnie "The Mountain" McDougle (22-12) vs "The Mad Monk" Grigori Rasputin (9-6) McDougle vs Rasputin is the bout to watch on the under card and the two warriors will feel unlucky to be here considering their relative popularity and hype at present time but with a card as stacked as this you can understand why. The bigger of the two men is McDougle who is also the more versatile, with a stronger ground game that he may look to exploit against “The Mad Monk”. Rasputin will want to keep it standing but McDougle will be happy their too so this should be a good one! Lester Green (20-13-1) vs "Redz" Romano Schoots (31-23) 40 decisions in one fighters career is not something many fighters can boast but Romano Schoots can do and to add to that can even add he’s won exactly half with 20 decision victories in his favour. Green is no slouch though as the former Syn competitor impressed as FV midweek #5 victory during the week. Fatigue is a question in this one again though as Schoots took a fight a mere 4 days ago, is he ready for another and can he go full pace. Nycky Downtime (29-25-2) vs "Cowboy" Jon Monroe (17-11-1) This bout is one I do not see going the distance as submission artist Nycky Downtime will face off the “Cowboy” Jon Monroe. Downtime may be prolific on the ground but his jaw has been compared to a substance not much stronger than glass, having been knocked out a total of 15 times in his career. Monroe will look to take advantage of that and put Downtime down for the count. Featherweight bouts are often under hyped but not this one, it may be the opener but the fans and management will not be overlooking this one! Forbidden Violence will look to pay honour and tribute to the man the game knew as Johnny Brickhead, but his friends knew as Sal and these fighters will do a great job in doing so. At the same time as this these men will also be looking to impress owner Frank King to stake a claim for a title shot or win/retain their respective titles on this Saturday night. The Sal Forlenzo Memorial On Sunday the 15th of June live at Sparta’s Palace (7,000) This event was for one man and one man only; “Johnny Brickhead was the PLAYER, SAL was the MAN” Main Event Doug Graves (24-13) vs Phil Ivey (42-18) A main event that truly living up to its billing with both fighters giving it their all is what the fans hoped for coming into this one, and it’s exactly what they got on Sunday evening, when Graves faced Ivey in the main event on The Sal Forlenzo Memorial show. It had picked up a lot of hype coming in and the fans fully expecting a finish at any point stopping the fight due to each of the fighters only reaching the final bell once each in their respective last 5 bouts. The first round of the fight was one of the most closely contested of not just tonight’s card in Forbidden Violence but the whole of MMA across the weekend as the two fought and battled with Graves arguably edging the fight despite getting a huge cut opened up halfway through from a short left in the clinch. The fights finish came in the second when out of nowhere Ivey caught Graves flush with a shoulder strike that appeared to daze Graves before Ivey proceeded to land several strikes which then proceeded to Graves falling down defenceless needing the referee’s protection and causing the end of the fight. As Phil Ivey was announced winner by TKO (strikes) the two fighters were met with a huge ovation from the audience who appreciated such a whole hearted performance form both men. Featherweight Title Fight "The One" Daniel Dylan (27-17) vs Lyoto Parks (16-6) The featherweight title bout featuring reigning Champion Daniel Dylan and fresh hot challenger Lyoto Parks was one of the most anticipated in the history of the featherweight division in Forbidden Violence and had a lot of fans wondering how/why it wasn’t the main event of the evening. Parks was coming in hot onto this one with his only loss being to “The Pitbull” from HFC during the cross promotional event. Parks class shone through during the first two rounds dominating Dylan and leaving the champion on a knife edge, brushing off the champs multiple attempts at submissions on him in the first and at the end of the second Parks left Dylan dazed but the bell saved him before the official had to give him a hand. During the second round interval both corners were frantic with Dylan’s encouraging him to go out with the intention to finish and Parks not wanting to leave anything to chance and capitalize while the champ could still be rocked. Parks went out and continued how he started, controlling the stand-up forcing Dylan to take him to the mat, but Parks made him pay with a locked in armbar while Dylan was trying to transition which the champ could only escape from by tapping. That was it, FV have a new champion, the impressive Lyoto Parks and he’ll be looking to take on all newcomers in the same way he won the belt. Main Card Fedor "The Last Emperor" Emelianenko (36-25-0) vs "Bad Bad" Leroy Brown (34-16-2) This was another entertaining fight and while it won’t go down as a technical clinic or as an all-out war, a fight like this certainly has its place on the card and in the sport. After a very closely contest first round, neither fighter looked like giving in soon and both wanted to go the distance but seconds into the second round Emelianenko cut Brown open with a solid shot but Brown weathered the storm. The end finally came with only one minute left in the second round as “The Last Emperor” finished the fight with a massive combo that left Brown out for the count, leaving Emeliankenko with the KO victory – which could very possibly be announced as KO of the night! Once again post fight Brown brought his future into question but the fans and fighters alike can only hope he returns for at least one more bout. Ole "Big Iron" Solseng (13-7) vs Grigory "Iron Man" Gukepshev (10-3) In the battle of the Iron men “Big Iron” faced “Iron Man” as another extremely surprising one sided affair occurred on this special night. The beat down that was put onGukepshev by Solseng lasted for just over half one round with the fight being finally stopped after 2minutes 32 seconds when the official had finally seen enough and stopped the bout. On his way to the TKO victory, Solseng knocked Gukepshev twice and allowed him to get up but on the third occasion he had done enough playing and followed “Iron Man” down to show even an iron jaw is susceptible to a beating occasionally. Heavyweight Title Fight "Polan" Titus Arellius (18-9) vs Oleg Karev (31-14) When title fights come along fans instantly thing of the full blown brawls and championship round finishes but this title fight in the Heavyweight division was not one of them. It was more of a shock victory where the fight is finished in the early part of one of the first couple of rounds. Unfortunately for the champion he was dominated from start to finish, being knocked down twice, busted wide open and left dazed before Karev finally put “Polan” Titus Arellius down for good when Karev beat Arellius to a defenceless pulp before the official stepped in to end the bout and give Karev not only the victory but also the heavyweight title! Karev didn’t hold back post-fight ever, claiming he was the best damn thing in the organisation and he was going to take over and dominate. Undercard Parvati Mellia (7-1) vs Marlon "The Predator" Worthy (26-17) The final fight of the undercard for the evening was the bout between Mellia and Worthy which hwent the distance to a decision as neither one of these two great competitors could put away the other within the 15minute time frame. The first round stole the victory for Worthy as “The Predator” was unlucky not to put away Mellia in the first and it wasn’t till the last round where Mellia really got an edge over Worthy but it was too late by them. To the surprise of very few before the fight and even less after it Marlon Worth was announced winner by unanimous decision (28:29) and post-fight Worthy had this to say; “I just want to thank all my loyal fans for their support, you guys have been amazing and I couldn’t keep doing this without you!” Sean Stone (22-13) vs Mirko "The Angel Of Death" McCracken (17-9) For the first time in weeks FV owner Frank King and sponsors HGH Nutrients have some serious head scratching when it comes to choosing the submission of the night at an event, as for the first time in what feels like forever there is a significant amount of choice to choose from. The candidate from this fight? That’s Sean Stone for perfectly executed arm-triangle against a fading Mirko McCracken in the second round of this bout, which gave Stone the victory. Stone will be proud of this victory and, despite it not being the most entertaining fighter, Stone controlled throughout and put himself in with a chance to win the “of the night” award for that submission. Arnie "The Mountain" McDougle (22-12) vs "The Mad Monk" Grigori Rasputin (9-6) The quickest finish of the night came in this one as Grigori Raspitun pounded McDougle down and took a very dominant victory by TKO within the first minute. The finish finally came in the action packed fight after McDougle had been busted open terribly by a huge head kick and a nice jab that left blood squirting from a cut just above the eyebrow. The final blow was a big right hook that left him for dead but Rasputin was taking no chances and dived down on top with hammer fists and elbows to make sure the victory was complete. Lester Green (20-13-1) vs "Redz" Romano Schoots (31-23) The last of three submission victories took place in this fight between Green and Schoots that finished when on his 5th submission attempt Green was able to lock in a triangle choke and force Schoots to tap to take the victory. A solid win for the American, as he looks to move up that card here in Forbidden Violence with victories such as that one. Nycky Downtime (29-25-2) vs "Cowboy" Jon Monroe (17-11-1) The card got kicked off by a true show stopping brawl in one of the fights of the night as Nycky Downtime and “Cowboy” Jon Monroe went to all out, no holds barred war! With little thought for their own safety these two men put on a real show with both men being on their last legs at one point or another in the fight. It ended in the same style the bout had been contested in when a bloodied Monroe was unable to defend a big straight right that sent him crumpling to the mat to give Downtime the victory, when watching the replay you can see Monroe was out before he even hit the canvas in one of the most brutal finishes in FV history. There’s a reason the organisation is called Forbidden Violence folks! A lot of impressive fights occurred on this very special nights and each one was worthy of the man it was in remembrance of. A lot of fighters really made a name for themselves from the top of the card to the bottom with the likes of Nycky Downtime giving the fans something to remember and talk about on the way home. The main event and co-main event really did not disappoint at all and the only disappointment will be from the loser’s corner than they couldn’t steal the victory. Forbidden Violence brought its latest show to the fans in great style giving all the 11,814 fans exactly what they want, tons of violence! The only thing this week’s show didn’t have was a submission but KO’s and TKO’s have come common place in the most violent organisation in the whole of Tycoon so this is not of huge shock to any of the fans. Mikio Okita retained his Welterweight title against Manfred von Richthofen in the main event of the evening! It wasn’t the show stealer we thought it was going to be but it was enough of a performance from Mikio Okita to retain his welterweight title against a valiant von Richthofen who managed to take him to the second round. Okita finished an tough performance after Manfred took the first round in everybodies eyes and left nothing to chance when he connected with a big right and he followed up with a series of shots von Richthofen could only turtle against before the official separated the pair and ended the fight. The Co-main event saw fight of the night when Jamalski Ramirezovics took on Orville Redenbacher and came through as victor but the fight ended in controversial fashion Nothing should take away from the all-out war both of these men engaged in last night but a shadow will hang over this fight preventing it from being remembered as one of the best of all time. The fight was ended by doctor stoppage – with a mere 32 seconds left to run – to the outrage of all the fans in attendance as well as both o the fighters and their corners. It is likely that Ramirezovics would’ve taken the fight if it had made it to the judges’ score cards but Redenbacher’s corner was infuriated it didn’t get the chance and with 32 seconds left of a blood filled swing for the fences fight like this once, anything could’ve happened! Out of the other fights the finish from Bang Bang vs John Watson really stood out to us here at CPA and was well worth a mention as Bang Bang knocked John Watson out cold for his third Forbidden Violence win. Bang Bang didn’t only walk off with the victory but also $5k for winning a well-deserved KO of the night award. The finish came around the mid-point of the fight after Bang landed a solid straight left that left Watson wobbly footed, Bang wasn’t going to miss this opportunity and finished decisively with a great overhand right than sent Watson to the canvas The Coming Week in FV This Wednesday will see 10 top class match-ups from FV midweek #8 but the one that’s really caught our eye is the fight between former champion, Titus Arellius and Russian “The General” Vladimir Petrov This bout really caught our eye as the former champion lost only his second fight in nine last time out and had been really impressive throughout each of those bouts. Along with that his opposition, “The General”, will be looking to kick start his own winning streak by making “Polan” his third victim in a row. Petrov has the fans excited with the 26-year-old looking like he has real potential to make a run for the FV belt at such a young age and a win on Wednesday wouldn’t go amiss in his attempts to grab owner Frank Kings attention. FV #25 5x5 happens this weekend and it is impossible to choose a match-up I’m most excited about on that card as it’s the card of champions, near on all the champions will be competing at the event - only Lightweight title holder Johann Joensen won’t be competing while he waits for a the winner of Diaz vs Downtime. The biggest fight arguably of the week is the fight that’ll likely be the main event between the number 12 and number 26 Super Heavyweights in the world, Mohammed takes on Arvydas Sabonis for the Superheavyweight title. Both men come in to this one undefeated during their time in FV but that should change on Saturday night. This has an “of the Night” award written all over it and the fans will hope it delivers. Also on the card is Gegard Mousasi © v Phil Ivey for the Light Heavyweight Title has the fans excited as Mousasi comes into undefeated in 5 fights, while Ivey is one of the most popular fighters on the card. Abel Speed vs Macadam Baird see’s one of our personal favourites in Abel Speed look to defend his belt and his undefeated streak in FV, Baird looks to do what he couldn’t do against Pehmytkudos and take a title victory. Last of the title fights is the Heavyweight title defence by Oleg Karev when he faces Billy Roberts, Roberts will be looking to stop the former Ascension warrior in his tracks as the Russian is unbeaten in three since arriving at FV. A Quick Interview with the King This past week Championship Press Association caught up quickly with Frank King and got the opportunity to ask him a couple of quick questions. When asked what direction he wanted the organisation to head in and what he’d say to new talents and managers considering Forbidden Violence as an option to join he had this to say; “I think FV has done well to get where it is in the time I’ve run it. I just want to keep going and pleasing the mangers by offering fair fights. I don't let people pick opponents all fights are evaluated before and after. With this in place I hope we can only get stronger and rise to the top of the world and be one of the big orgs. As for talent looking at FV all I'll say is sign one fighter come and join. After people sign their first fighter they normally stay and want to sign more. Fair fights, top bonuses and amazing write ups what's not to like!” It seems great that Frank’s intentions are to push Forbidden Violence on and make it the next big organisation, but while also having his head firmly planted on his shoulders. King is also grateful for the existing staff and fighters he already has and he made a very firm point of making that clear, being quoted in saying; “Yeah a huge thank you to everybody signed for FV for their loyalty and commitment. Stay VIOLENT guys.” That says to me that while he wishes to grow the organisation out, he also wants to remember where he came from and stay loyal to the fighters that have served him so very well over the opening 6 months or so of this promising organisation. Rebel Johnson had a grappling advantage against me, but I was able to stop his takedown attempts and finished the fight in the 1st via TKO. Couldn't have asked for anything better in my debut Media: What can you say about your current position in FV? Audet: I'm currently ranked the last in the FV rankings, but I think it's just because others had much more fights in their careers. I've spent a lot of time training and I'm fighting professionally for not a long time now. But I still think I've got the skill to beat my enemies and to climb the FV ladder. Media: What can you say about your future career? Audet: Now I have found a new manager that helps me, he got me a contract into FV and led me through a succesful debut. He helped me a lot - he gave me a lot of advice on how should I adjust my gameplan, he scheduled my training and found me a sponsor (Bad Man Clothing). My manager has also told me that I have Knockout Power, I am planning to use it in my upcoming bouts. I am not thinking about any titles or anything, I just want to keep winning the fights I will get offered. Audet: He is from Thailand - Muay Thai is very high level there, so his standup is definetly his strenght. Guest Posted July 7, 2014 Report Share Posted July 7, 2014 FORBIDDEN VIOLENCE WEEKLY So first of all we will start with the events, FV Midweek #9 was one of the highest rated Midweek events we have had in FV continuing to keep FV up there. August Beach pushed himself into the #1 contender spot for the title with his win in the main event and will now fight current champ Oleg Karev at FV #28. The fight everybody is talking about is the fight for the 155lbs title were Parvati Mellia ripped the title away from Johann Joensen with a KO 5 seconds into round 2. In other news Sean Stone extended his FV record to 4-0-0 and is now in line for a title shot after Vinícius Cavalcante if he comes out of his next fight victorious. FV #26 was another fantastic event. 145lbs champ Lyoto Parks seen his first title defence end in a draw. Lester Green will be calling for a rematch but with him unable to rip it away from parks Frank King has put Fei Yue next in line for a shot as he is on 3 fight win streak and has told Lester if he can defeat Aigars Senko he will get his rematch. The main event was a much anticipated rematch between former champ and the first inductee into the FV Hall Of Fame Mikio Okita went up against a man he had defeated a few month before Manfred von Richthofen. In an amazing fight Manfred picked Okita to a unanimous points decision after the fight Manfred grabbed the mic to say this “At the moment the media paint us a haters and intolerant. But history will see us as the realists and the resistance against the rotten core ideology called islam”. Controversial yes but what a fighter he is with the FV fans wanting a Rubber match to see who is the top dog between these two warriors they wont care what he says. Okita has since left FV stating he needs time to think about his future will the veteran be tempted back in for one last fight who knows we will have to see what magic Frank King can work. Upcoming Events, FV Midweek #10 will be the last Midweek event for the foreseeable future. Speaking with Frank he said money is not what he is after, he wants the best quality organization for the fighters he said the extra time it will allow him to be more involved with the fighters and mangers in his org. To say it’s the last event it will go down in History as there will be two title fights on a midweek event. Parvati Mellia 155lbs champ in his first outing as champ defends against Marlon Worthy fresh from his win in the FV vs HONOR event. Also New 170lbs champ Jordan Taylor will be looking to extend his 3 fight streak against new FV fighter Luke Fluke. FV #27 could possibly be the biggest event in FV history for that we will have to wait and see but no doubt we have the biggest fight ever in FV. Active Serial Killer’s Mohammed Sheik Allah Ali Baba Mohammed #8 265+ fighter in the world and FV champion takes on Lance Templeton’s James Proudstar #10 265+ fighter in the world also SYN and EVO champ. With both fighters highly confident of a win this will be a fight that no one wants to miss. Also on the card a new 205lbs champ will be crowned Former champ Jermaine Barksdale fresh from his win in the FV vs HONOR series will take on the current 185lbs champ Abel Speed who has stepped up in weight to try and become FV’s first 2 weight champion, Frank King has promised Speed a place in the Hall Of Fame if he can pull it off. Vinícius Cavalcante will be hoping to keep on track for his show down with Big Mo while across from him Arvydas Sabonis will be looking to throw his plans into the shit pile. A message from the owner is that any fighter coming to the end of his contract out side of the top 5000P4P will not be getting a new contract. To keep the org climbing the rankings and keep fresh faces coming in Frank has decided this is the best way to do it. On a more positive note there will be a new bonus being introduced into the FV world. Smack talk bonus there will be a 20k giveaway for the best smack talker of the month. This will be decided by frank on the amount of effort and post every month by the person. There will be a 10k bonus as well for the best 1 off smack talk post weather it’s a twitter message or normal banter and conviction will decide this one. GBK16 Posted July 9, 2014 Report Share Posted July 9, 2014 Forbidden Violence #26 Review Date: 5th July 2014 Arena: MMA Grand Attendance: 16560 Fight OTN: Lester Green vs Lyoto Parks KO OTN: Karl Pilkington Sub OTN: Kermit Earlandson Hello everyone and welcome to our Review of Forbidden Violence’s latest event! I am the new (returning) writer for Forbidden Violence, Grant Brophy, and I look forward to reviewing these fights and analysing the results. With another huge event taking place, we have a lot to talk about! FIGHT #1 – Lightweight Bout Karl Pilkington def. Jeremy Henderson via KO (Head Kick) at 1:51 in Round 3 Henderson’s attempts to psyche the less experienced Pilkington out, by tweaking his nipples before the fight, did not work as he didn’t work as he suffered a brutal defeat in this epic. Pilkington had the first 2 rounds in the bag, and did not let up with his persistence paying off. Softening Henderson up with a crisp one-two combo, Pilkington demonstrated his persistence by following up a brutal head kick that just missed, with an even more monstrous strike that nearly took Henderson’s head off! It will be interesting to see what Pilkington’s next move is, as his Forbidden Violence contract came to an end and he is now a free agent. Henderson on the other hand plummets to the bottom of the Lightweight Rankings, and will need to pull himself up if he wants to climb the rankings! FIGHT #2 – Featherweight Division Tico Cortez def. Teddy Bass via Unanimous Decision It started well for Bass, as he took the first round on all 3 judge’s scorecards. Unfortunately, he was not prepared for what Cortez had planned, as he was taken down and controlled, leaving no chance for him to affect anything. Similar to the last fight, this loss leaves Bass at the bottom of the featherweight division. He will need to work on his skills if he wants to succeed. Cortez will also need to improve, as he will face higher skilled fighters who will not be so easy to control on the ground. A good win for Cortez overall, and he will be happy to be looking up the division rather than down. FIGHT #3 – Lightweight Division Thioon Phitch def. Nycky Downtime via TKO (Strikes) at 2:22 in Round 2 I am calling this one the “Battle of the Afros” and the writing was on the wall within seconds as Phitch hit a perfect one-two combo which knocked and rocked Downtime to the mat. Downtime did well to survive the first round, however, Phitch came out like a man possessed, hitting Downtime in the standing and then decimating him in the clinch. Eventually, Phitch decided he had enough and hit Downtime with something reminiscent of Bruce Lee’s six-inch punch which knocked him flat. He then transformed and went on a Chuck Liddell rampage, teeing off on Downtime, who eventually succumbed and the referee had no choice but to end the fight. Phitch will be delighted to move up the rankings, while Downtime will be disappointed to have been outperformed in this outing. FIGHT #4 – Featherweight Division Jamie Reyes def. Romano Schoots via Unanimous Decision This fight was overall, a bit one sided. Schoots didn’t manage to win a single round in the fight, with his best being scored a 10-10 round. The first round took place in the clinch, with Reyes getting the better of the encounter. Schoots changed tactics in the second round, scoring a takedown where it was a closer fight, however, Reyes still scored better on the judge’s scorecards. The third fight returned to standing, where Reyes continued to dominate. His fighter will be delighted with his performance as he outshone his opponent in the fight, and it will be interesting to see how Schoots bounces back from this defeat. FIGHT #5 – Heavyweight Division Ashley Harrington def. Hug Raction via TKO (Strikes) at 0:56 in Round 3 A great fight overall, and a contender for Fight of the Night! Both fighters used the first round to feel each other out, before it exploded in the second round. Both fighters received cuts as they attempted to gain the upper hand. With the scoring close, both fighters winning a round each, the third round was a change of pace. Harrington rocked Raction with a single jab before ducking out of range. He then landed a crisp straight left which dropped Raction. The ref was forced to stop the fight seconds later as Harrington threw relentless shots to an unconscious Raction to pick up the win. Interestingly, Raction was sacked by his manager so it will be interesting to see if he finds a new manager, or if he will call time on his career. FIGHT #6 – Middleweight Division Hamad Al Zahran def. Mr Chrome via Split Decision A good back-and-forth fight between these two as Al Zahran managed to win this fight by Split Decision. He was cut in the first round by Mr Chrome, but managed to just pip the round on two of the judge’s scorecards, which would prove decisive. Chrome managed to utilise the takedown to control the fight in Round 2, but was unable to do the same in Round 3. Al Zahran used a takedown to control the early portion of the third round and then the clinch. When Chrome managed to escape from the clinch, he had no energy left to muster enough offense to swing the fight back in his favour. FIGHT #7 – Middleweight Division Kermit Earlandson def. Jase Robertson via Sub (Armbar) at 4:59 in Round 1 It started poorly for Earlandson, as he could have been knocked out with the first strike of the fight! A big head kick opened up a cut and sent him tumbling to the mat. Robertson could not capitalise on this and was taken down shortly past the first minute. One of the highlights of the fight came just past the second minute when Earlandson shot a huge snot rocket onto Robertson’s shoulder. Earlandson held side control for a while before Robertson hit the sweep to be in Earlandson’s half guard. After a brief struggle where Robertson advanced to side control and Earlandson regained half guard, Earlandson attempted to gain full guard, he slipped, allowing Robertson to gain mount. After a struggle, Earlandson managed to gain full guard and straight away moved to the side a locked on an armbar! The pain was too much to bear and Robertson was forced to tap. He will be disappointed to learn he tapped only 1 second away from the end of the round. FIGHT #8 – Featherweight Division Fei Yue def. Aigars Senko via Unanimous Decision Senko managed to survive an early takedown scare to control the fight on the feet, cracking Yue with a few good shots to take the round. The second round was closer, with Senko controlling the early exchanges, but not landing anything significant. Yue gained a takedown and held his position well, earning enough to win the round. The third round went much the same way, with Senko aggressive in the early exchanges but not landing any significant strikes. Yue gained the clinch, and from there, it was completely one sided. Yue threw punches left-right-centre, and it showed when he rocked Senko. He was unable to finish him, but he did enough to win the round to earn the Unanimous Decision win. CO-MAIN EVENT FIGHT #9 – Featherweight Division- FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT Lyoto Parks and Lester Green fight to a Majority Draw This has to be a contender for the org’s Fight of the Year! A 5 round epic in which both fighters deserved to win, and neither fighter deserved to lose, so a draw was probably the best result. This was an epic that showed nearly all facets of an MMA fight with the fight taking place standing, in the clinch and on the ground. With so much action, it is hard to break it all down. Overall, Parks won the first round for his control in the clinch. Green won the second round after controlling Parks for the majority of the round. Green continued that domination in the third round, controlling on the ground. The fourth was a close round, with both fighters instigating the clinch at different points and using it to good effect. The entire fifth round was spent on the ground, and was a close fight with Parks just edging it. Two judges scored it a draw, leaving Parks as the champ and almost certainly setting up a rematch after such an epic! MAIN EVENT FIGHT #10 – Welterweight Division Manfred von Richthofen def. Mikio Okita via Unanimous Decision Another great fight in this event, and we actually got a winner in this one! Okita did well to score takedowns in the first two rounds, but landed no telling blows. Von Richthofen used the clinch effectively, and that is what won him this fight. Okita landed less than 10 strikes in the whole fight and the lack of offense is what lost him this fight. He will need to be more aggressive if he wants any hope in the future of winning a judge’s decision. Overall, a fantastic event from one of MMA Tycoon’s fastest growing orgs in the game! It will be hard for Greene to predict how Dylan will approach this fight, but like Mike Tyson once said “Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face”. PREDICTION: Green to win via TKO in Round 1 FIGHT #2 – Super Heavyweight Division Miller HighLife 25-15-1 (1-2-0) vs Paul Brown 11-11-0 (1-4-0) HighLife has a solid standup game, with the possibility of taking out his opponent at any moment. Brown is also a very respected standup game, with the ability to make his opponents tap as well. Brown will need to take HighLife down, which will be no easy feat. PREDICTION: HighLife to win via KO in Round 2 FIGHT #3 – Light Heavyweight Division Yoshihiro Gomi 19-20-0 (0-2-0) vs Kingsley Ciprut 17-12-1 (2-2-0) Gomi is one of the premier BJJ artists in the game today, complimenting his Elite Wrestling with a Black Belt. It will be a tough fight for Ciprut, who will need to keep his balance and avoid being taken down to win this fight. A good fight overall, but I expect Gomi’s skill to shine here. PREDICTION: Gomi to win via Submission in Round 1 FIGHT #4 – Light Heavyweight Division Kublai Congo 37-25-1 (0-1-0) vs Orville Redenbacher 37-14-1 (5-3-0) Congo is an extremely highly skilled fighter, but Redenbacher just pips him in the stand up. I expect a very good fight between these two, with it being in contention for all 3 OTN awards. PREDICTION: Redenbacher to win via KO in Round 2 FIGHT #5 – Welterweight Division Cody Wilson 14-8-0 (0-1-0) vs Ange Fili 13-5-0 (4-2-0) This fight could go anywhere. I expect a KO completely in this fight, with both being specialists in this area. This is one of the harder fights to predict, so I expect to be wrong here. PREDICTION: Wilson to win via TKO in Round 3 FIGHT #6 – Middleweight Division Bill Clinton 24-9-0 (1-0-0) vs Macadam Baird 13-6-0 (6-3-0) Like most of the other fights on this card, both of these fighters are extremely highly skilled. Clinton just edges it skill wise, but the decisive factor could be that Baird comes into this fight with an injury which may hamper his ability to fight. PREDICTION: Clinton to win via TKO in Round 1 FIGHT #7 – Light Heavyweight Division – TITLE FIGHT Jermaine Barksdale 16-6-0 (5-1-0) vs Abel Speed 26-9-1 (5-1-0) Two of the standout fighters in the Light Heavyweight division collide. Barksdale has proven that his bark is definitely worse than his bite, with a series of KO wins, and he will be optimistic about collecting another one. Abel Speed has already collected one title in Forbidden Violence, and he will be looking to add another with a win here. I expect a collision of mass proportions to take place here. PREDICTION: Speed to win via TKO in Round 1 FIGHT #8 – Light Heavyweight Division Phil Ivey 43-19-0 (1-1-0) vs Doug Graves 25-14-0 (3-1-0) Ivey has collected an incredible 29 KO wins in his career, and he will be aiming for #30 when he takes on Graves. Graves has achieved 20 KO wins, which is an incredible stat and makes him a danger at all times when standing. Both fighters will be coming out looking for a KO, which I expect to make for a short fight. PREDICTION: Graves to win via KO in Round 1 CO-MAIN EVENT FIGHT #9 – Super Heavyweight Division Vinícius Cavalcante 24-3-0 (3-0-0) vs Arvydas Sabonis 25-12-0 (1-1-0) Where do I even begin with this fight? Cavalcante has been incredible so far, having a win:loss ratio of 8:1. He goes up against the extremely dangerous Sabonis, whose Elite Boxing AND Muay Thai will prove difficult to handle. A dream fight which will be taking place here. PREDICTION: Cavalcante to win via TKO in Round 2 MAIN EVENT FIGHT #10 – Super Heavyweight Division Mohammed Shiekh Allah Ali Baba Mohammed 29-7-1 (3-0-0) Vs James Proudstar 19-4-0 (0-0-0) The man with the longest name I have every typed faces off against a man who will match him in every area. “Mo-Mo” (as I will call him from now on) is on a roll, winning his last 5 fights and capturing the FV 265+lbs championship. He seems to have found a winning formula, and that will be tough to stop. His opponent however, is one of the most decorated fighters today. James Proudstar is the current Synchronicity and Ascension 265lbs champion, and the Canadian Fighting Championship 265+lbs champion. He has proven himself in every org he has fought in, and now he is in Forbidden Violence to prove himself in this non-title bout. A hard fight to call, but a fight that will show who is the top dog in the division. PREDICTION: Mo-Mo to win via KO in Round 2 Overall, a fantastic event to look forward to, and one that will have major implications for the future of all fighters involved. Exclusively for Forbidden Violence Magazine, we have managed to ask him few questions. Petro Sohitto - You have acquired Championship title of Forbidden Violence when You were 36. You lost it at first occasion, but also regained it just after that, shortly before Your 37 birthday. How do You feel competing with much younger fighters, and how long You would like to stay on that World Class Level fighting- do You have already any thoughts about that? Abel Speed - My physical capacity dictates my career, not age. If my chin is still holding and I can still run circles around these kids then I'll be fighting when 87. I am a genetic specimen, a physical phenom. I will be here for a long time to come. Petro Sohitto - We are now slowly at the beginnings of end of Your great career. But do You remember how it all has started? We all know, that You were one of the most spectacular fighters- 16 Professional fights without lose streak- 15 wins, and 1 draw against Semi Silva, who was also beaten later during this streak! That’s definitely something special. Abel Speed - Those were the golden years... I was so fast out if the block early in my career my opponents often looked like invalids. Not taking anything away from me now but I was a god damned lightening bolt compared to everyone else back in the day. No one could touch me. That was of course with a precious manager who tried once too often to towel me off after a shower and we had to part ways but that's a story for another interview. Petro Sohitto - What do You do to remain in top form? You aren’t old yet of course, but in few years it will surely come time to say stop and just aim a little lower. But actually You fight 6,8,12 years old younger top class fighters! You must have Your own way to perform like that. Abel Speed - Let's just say I have my own special recipe cooked up by Sonny that keeps me in top form. Definitely sparring with the young studs from The Exiled helps wonders to keep me on top. Petro Sohitto - Do you have any pre-fight rituals or superstitions that you do before fight? Abel Speed - Well I do take the wife of my opener into my locker room before a fight but again I will have to share what goes on behind closed doors in a more appropriate forum. Petro Sohitto - You will be fighting against Jermaine Barksdale, who is known as great all-round fighter. Can You tell us, how did You prepare for Your fights like this? I definitely don’t want any of Your tactics, etc- anything what can reveal You and help Your opponent, of course. Abel Speed - I like training for fights like this because his style basically matches mine. I can settle in and really do my thing in training camp. Focus on me, not my opponent. He brings nothing I don't have. Petro Sohitto - What can You say about Jermain Barksdale and upcoming fight? Abel Speed - This fight will be good not matter where it goes. We're both well versed on the feet and ground. I love coming in as the smaller faster guy. I like and respect my opponent enough to take this fight as the obvious underdog and that will make the victory that much sweeter. Petro Sohitto - Barksdale was KOd last time when he was 28. He is 31 now. Can You put any comment on that? Abel Speed - There's more than 1 way to kill a cat. Next question. It was a huge event, which surprisingly, had no submissions, but 6 big KO wins! With 10 fights to get through, and a lot of big moments, this truly was a card that lived up to its hype! Miller HighLife def. Paul Brown via TKO (Strikes) at 2:25 in Round 1 Miller HighLife justified proved his ability in this fight, finishing his opponent without taking a scratch. Brown started swinging wildly from the beginning, missing punches while being hit on the counter. HighLife landed a takedown, and Brown tried desperately to secure a takedown from his back, which only landed him in further trouble when HighLife transitioned to Side Control. From there, HighLife landed some hard shots which left Brown disorientated and unable to defend himself, which left the referee with no choice but to stop the fight. Yoshiro Gomi def. Kingsley Ciprut via Unanimous Decision No messing around from Gomi as he used his takedowns to control the fight, holding his position well while preventing Ciprut from landing any meaningful blows. He will be disappointed not to have finished his opponent here, but Ciprut will be even more disappointed at not being able to move the fight to a position where he is comfortable. Billy Greene def. Daniel Dylan via Unanimous Decision Like the last fight, Greene will be disappointed he couldn’t finish his opponent here, but he will be delighted that he was completely dominant in this fight, winning every round with ease. He utilised punches and kicks to good effect, sapping all the energy from Dylan, who never really got going. A good win for Greene, and he will look to improve further in order to fight higher in the division. Orville Redenbacher def. Kublai Congo via TKO (Strikes) at 3:10 in Round 2 This was a fast-paced fight that took place mostly in the clinch. Redenbacher got Congo into the clinch, where he landed some hard punches to the head and body. Congo tried to secure a takedown, but Redenbacher used his wrestling to good effect to maintain his position. After 3 minutes, Redenbacher broke the clinch, but surprisingly, Congo brought him back into it. At the start of the second, Redenbacher resumed his beatdown, gaining the clinch and hitting Congo with some hard shots. One particular hook rocked Congo, and that was the beginning of the end. Congo managed to hold on for 1 more minute, but Redenbacher managed to secure some space and he unleashed a monstrous uppercut, which left Congo out on his feet. Redenbacher continued to throw strikes until the ref called off the fight. A big win for Redenbacher, and he will be happy with this display. Ange Fili def. Cody Wilson via TKO (Strikes) at 4:40 in Round 1 This was a battle between a world class boxer and a world class Muay Thai fighter. Both fighters were just feeling out the fight, until Fili took the fight into the clinch. From there, both fighters went fast and furious trying to land strikes, and Fili eventually broke the clinch after calls from his corner. Shortly after, Fili landed a nice strike which rocked Wilson. Fili gained the clinch once more and start unloading a barrage of strikes which had Wilson down, and forced the referee to call a stop to the fight. Bill Clinton def. Macadam Baird via Unanimous Decision Baird attempted to use his wrestling to gain a dominant position, but Clinton showed how much he has improved by surviving this fight, and even gaining dominant positions himself. After winning the first round, Clinton was taken down, but again proved to be Bairds better, as he prevented Clinton from gaining any dominant positions and improving his own position, winning the second. The third was a different story altogether. Baird gained the clinch, looking to use it to gain a takedown, but Clinton beat him to it, taking Baird down, and holding him on the ground for the rest of the round. Baird however, was very proactive on the ground, and it showed as the won the third on all three judge’s scorecards. It was not enough unfortunately, as Clinton gained the unanimous decision win. Jermaine Barksdale def. Abel Speed via Unanimous Decision, to become the NEW Light-Heavyweight Champion! This was our title fight this evening, and it blew the roof of the arena! Barksdale may have 13 out of a possible 15 rounds on the judge’s cards, but Speed showed here why he was the champion. This fight had everything, striking, clinch control and ground battles, but in the end, Barksdale was too much for Speed to handle. Barksdale controlled the first round using the takedown and controlling Speed’s position. The second and third round took place in the clinch, with Barksdale again controlling the action. The fourth sprung to life, when Barksdale landed a big uppercut which rocked Speed, and he followed it up by landing a big head kick that knocked Speed down to the mat. The fifth started standing, with a good exchange taking place. However, Barksdale secured the fifth with a takedown and held the position until Speed’s stalling forced a standup as the round came to an end. Doug Graves def. Phil Ivey via TKO (Strikes) at 2:13 in Round 2 Ivey had the better of the first round, securing a takedown and opening a cut on Graves. Not much else occurred, as Graves managed to neutralise most of Ivey’s attempts to gain a better position. The finish in the second came out of nowhere, as Graves lined up and threw a huge right hand that had Ivey spinning on the way down. Graves took Ivey’s back and threw more punches until the ref was forced to call a stop to the fight. Arvydas Sabonis def. Vinivius Cavalcante via KO (Punch) at 4:11 in Round 1 Sabonis had this fight controlled from start to finish, using the clinch and leg kicks to wear his opponent down. The end of the fight came in a devastating 11 second spell. Sabonis knocked Cavalcante down with a big two-punch combo, which rocked and cut him. When Cavalcante got back to his feet, Sabonis immediately knocked him out clean with a huge uppercut which had him a few inches off the ground. Sabonis might have been forgiven for thinking he had the KO OTN award in the bag, but nobody could have foreseen what was to follow. James Proudstar def. Mohammed Sheikh Allah Ali Baba Mohammed via KO (Spinning Backfist) at 2:07 in Round 3 One of the biggest fights in Forbidden Violence history had a fitting finish for it. Proudstar was taken down twice in the first round, but turned it to his advantage, preventing Mo-Mo from gaining a good position and taking the round. Mo-mo took the fight into the clinch in the second, but again could not gain a position where he dominated. After he broke the clinch, Proudstar opened up a cut on Mo-mo which caused a few problems to his vision. In the third round, Proudstar dropped his opponent with a big combo, and waved Mo-mo back to his feet. Mo-mo slowly got back to his feet, clearly rocked from the combo, and what happened next was a thing of beauty. With Mo-Mo still dizzy from the combo, Proudstar knocked him clean out with a devastating Spinning Backfist! Mo-Mo didn’t know what happened after he came back to his senses, but managed to say this in his post-fight interview “AAAHHHHH FUCK!!”. Proudstar was delighted with his win, and said this after the fight “Me need another arm for all my belts”. That was a huge event, with a fitting ending. This week’s event takes us to Sparta’s Palace, where we expect to see another action-packed night! We have two title fights coming up tonight, so stay with me as I run the rule over all 10 fights, along with my predictions for each fight and what I expect to see! Fight #1 – Welterweight Bout! Caeser Augustus 17-14-1 (3-6-0) vs Josef Urrah 8-5-0 (0-1-0) We have a great fight to start with, as Elite Wrestler and BJJ Red Belt Augustus faces the more rounded Urrah. If Augustus takes Urrah to the mat, he will still need to be careful due to Urrah having a Black Belt. I expect Urrah to use his Boxing to good effect, damaging Augustus well before Augustus manages to get a takedown away. Augustus’ superior wrestling and BJJ will allow him to control the position as long as he is on top. I expect Augustus to use his Red Belt to gain another submission win here! PREDICTION: Augustus to win via Submission in Round 2 Fight #2 – Welterweight Bout! Samak Tiyapairat 25-14-0 (3-4-0) vs Ryan Sonnen 21-16-0 (2-2-0) A stand up war is to be expected here, as both of these fighters have a combined 39 KO’s between them out of 46 wins. Tiyapairat has the edge in skill in the standing, which I expect to shine through in this bout. I expect an early finish as both fighters go straight for the KO here PREDICTION: Tiyapairat to win via TKO in Round 1 Fight #3 – Super Heavyweight Bout! Nick Foles 6-2-0 (4-2-0) vs Arnie McDougle 23-13-0 (3-1-0) This is fairly even in terms of skill level, however, McDougle holds the clear advantage in terms of experience. 17 KO wins out of 23 wins is a fantastic record, with his 2 submission wins showing he still poses a threat on the ground. We have not seen much of Foles compared to his opponent, but he has been hard at work in the gym, and can take a big step in his career with a win here, and I expect him to have a good display here. PREDICTION: Foles to win via TKO in Round 2 Fight #4 – Middleweight Bout! Eliod Bunkley Iii 19-16-1 (5-3-1) vs Memento Mori 17-8-0 (4-2-0) These two have fought before, with Mori scoring the win that time via TKO. Mori holds the advantage in most areas, but he will need to beware of Bunley’s Black Belt. I expect to pick up the win here, but he will need to stay focused and not become complacent. PREDICTION: Mori to win via TKO in Round 1 Fight #5 – Middleweight Bout! John Aman 29-14-2 (0-0-0) vs Baraka Simengwa 14-11-0 (3-2-0) Aman is as skilled as you could want from a stand up fighter, having Elite Boxing and Muay Thai. His opponent has perfected his BJJ skills, and this fight will come down to a battle of their wrestling. Both hold Sensational Wrestling, so it will be a case of Aman’s Takedown Defence going up against Simengwa’s Takedown Offence. I have a feeling Simengwa may be able to get the takedown against Aman, but if he doesn’t then he will be in trouble. PREDICTION: Simengwa to win via Submission in Round 1 Fight #6 – Heavyweight Bout! – TITLE FIGHT! Oleg Karev 33-14-0 (4-0-0) vs August Beach 14-9-1 (1-0-0) These two cannot be separated at all skill wise, so it will come down to who holds the better sliders. Both are undefeated in FV, and favour the stand-up game. Karev’s lighter weight will provide him with more mobility, which may be the decisive factor in this bout, where whoever wins will be a deserving champion! PREDICTION: Karev to win via TKO in Round 1 and REMAIN THE HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION! Fight #7 – Super Heavyweight Bout! Sean Stone 24-13-0 (4-0-0) vs Ole Solseng 14-7-1 (1-0-1) Stone will be looking to use his Wrestling to take Solseng to the ground where he holds the advantage, and GnP his way to victory. Solseng has a solid stand-up game, and will be the favourite provided he avoids being taken down to the ground. My instinct in this bout is that Stone will gain the takedown, and that is why I am going with Stone to get the win here! PREDICTION: Stone to win via TKO in Round 2 Fight #8 – Lightweight Bout! – TITLE FIGHT! Marlon Worthy 29-17-0 (4-1-0) vs Adam Duritz 6-3-0 (6-3-0) We have 34 year old Worthy going up against the younger 28 year old Duritz. Duritz has had only 9 fights in his career, but is skilled enough to win this fight. Worthy will use his experience to win this, but the enthusiastic Duritz will come flying out of the blocks for this fight. A good fight here, and one I expect the young upstart to win! PREDICTION: Duritz to win via TKO in Round 3 CO-MAIN EVENT! Fight #9 – Heavyweight Bout! Joe Jordan 14-5-0 (2-0-0) vs Billy Roberts 17-3-0 (3-1-0) Both fighters will be looking to use this fight to put themselves in the title picture. Both have the ability to knock the other one out, and it may come down to personality to pick a winner. I expect Jordan’s Big Heart to get him out of trouble here, and for him to pick up the win! PREDICTION: Jordan to win via TKO in Round 2 MAIN EVENT! Fight #10 – Heavyweight Bout! Titus Arellius 19-10-0 (2-1-0) vs Roger Freedmen 22-10-0 (0-0-0) Well reknowned fighter Freedmen faces a tough fight on his FV debut, going up against Arellius. Arellius may be more skilled overall, but Freedmen has finished people by Sub as well as KO, so he will need to beware of his opponents variety in attack. Arellius has a granite chin which may see him through this bout, and onto the win which will push him further into the title picture. PREDICTION: Arellius to win via TKO in Round 2 Another night of fantastic action we have to look forward to, with two title fights, and a plethora of top fighters on display.
