Three big title fights on the docket today. Balaban defends his light heavyweight title and Chulainn defends the welterweight title. We will also get our lightweight title decided and that will give us a champion for each division.

 

Preliminary Bout Number 1- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

 

Ton Rolder (2-2) {0-1} versus Juuso Valtonen (0-2) {0-1}

 

This middleweight bout will feature two guys who both need a win. Rolder and Valtonen are both o and one in Honour but Rolder at least has two pro wins while Valtonen is o and two for his career. Rolder will look to keep the fight standing and he will need to keep it standing if he wants to get the win. Valtonen is the far better wrestler and he has the better Jiu Jitsu so he wants a ground fight for sure. Rolder cannot go to the ground with this guy so he should look for a quick knockout but I think Valtonen will get the fight to the ground and earn the submission victory in the second round.

 

Preliminary Bout Number 2- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

 

Marcell Ozuna (1-0) {1-0} versus Trey "The One" Oshiro (0-3-1) {0-0-0}

 

Ozuna went to the ground early and often in his one and only fight that was right here in Honour. He did eventually pick up the win by submission in the middle of the second round after really going after it. He needs to slow down and mix his game up more to get to the top of the division. Oshiro will be making his debut here and he is not coming in with a very impressive record. He does have some ground skills but nothing that even comes close to Ozuna’s skills. That means he will need to rely on his striking. Trey does have a good Muay Thai game and he should look to test Ozuna’s chin but to do that he will need to avoid the takedown. Honestly I think Ozuna’s has this in the bag and he will get a submission win in the first round.

 

Preliminary Bout Number 3- Welterweight Fight (170lbs)

 

Pud Pad Noyworawoot (4-1) {0-1} versus Radostan "The Horror" Tugbajev (2-1) {1-1}

 

Noyworawoot took his only loss in his only fight in Honour. He gets a chance to redeem himself in this fight and to redeem himself he will need to turn this into a ground game. He is only slightly better on the ground but since his striking is far below Tugbajev so going to the mat is mandatory. Since the two and one Tugbajev is the far better striker he should look to take advantage while the two are standing. If it does go to the mat he should be just fine, but if he cannot get into position to finish on the ground he should hang on and get the stand up. I got Tugbajev winning the fight in the second round by TKO either standing or via ground and pound.

 

Preliminary Bout Number 4- Middleweight Fight (185lbs)

 

Esko Tikkanen (1-3) {1-1} versus "The Firestarter" Spontaneous Combustion (3-6) {0-1}

 

This should be a good fight. Combustions streangths are in his stand up and so is Esko’s but they both have enough ground game to take it to the mat if they need to. Tikkanen is the better striker but it is not overwhelmingly better so I would say its say to assume that these two will stand in the middle of the cage and duke it out. It’s a tough call but I am going to pick Tikkanen to win this fight in the third round by TKO.

 

Preliminary Bout Number 5- Lightweight Fight (155lbs)

 

Miguel "Sari-Sari" Santiago (3-4) {0-1} versus Wicked "The Killing Spree" Sick (0-0) {0-0}

 

Santiago was three and three before coming to Honour and taking a loss. His loss came against Heimolainen who will now be fighting for the title on this same event. Santiago needs to string a few wins together to get back into title contention. Sick will be making his debut so of course a win would be nice. We have heard from guys in Sick’s camp that he is becoming a top notch striker and he has a ton of skill on the ground and that will be problematic for Santiago. Miguel is going to need to press the fight to the mat and try to out wrestle Sick to get the win. I think Sick will be in trouble more than once in this fight but he will get the TKO win in the second round.

 

Main Card Bout Number 1- Heavyweight Fight (265lbs)

 

Emilio Largo (2-1) {0-0} versus Softly "The Sanguine Giant" Weeping (1-0) {1-0}

 

Largo is two and one and he is making his debut in Honour. What we know about him is he a good striker, he has a great chin, and no ground game. I heard he has been working on his takedown defense and his defensive grappling. Even though he has been working on it he cannot keep up with Weeping. Weeping is a top notch ground fighter and he has good striking to back it up. He will want to take it to the ground in this one and he will want to do it quickly. Once that happens Weeping will get his hand raised in victory and think that happens by submission in the first round.

"Nature Boy" Quentin DeBramalo (2-1) {1-0} versus Erkki Heimolainen (2-0) {1-0}

 

DeBramalo is stylin and profilin! This two and one eighteen year old has a great rounded out game. His stand up is far better than his opponents in this one so he should look to take advantage of that in this one. Heimolainen needs to get the fight to the ground to win in my opinion but The Nature Boy is still a great ground fighter. I don’t think our first of three title fights will last very long and I have Quentin DeBramalo getting the win by TKO in the second round.

 

Main Card Bout Number 3- Featherweight Fight (145lbs)

 

"Ryota" Alec Namiki (5-3) {0-0} versus Rasul "Frodo" Khasbulaev (2-0) {0-0}

 

Both of these guys will be making their debuts tonight. Namiki comes to Honour with a five and three record and he is looking to make a big impact. He will be looking to make that impact with a quick knockout in this one. He should look to counter strike and mix up his strikes to keep this one standing. Rasul is two and o and he is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He has decent wrestling to back up his Jiu Jitsu skills. He will need a quick takedown to win this fight and I don’t think he will get it so I have Namiki winning by takedown in the first round.

Ci Chulainn (6-2) {1-0} versus Thomas "Tommie" Hawk (4-2-1) {2-0-0}

 

Chulainn is looking to make his first title defense. He won the title defeating Radostan Tugbajev in the first round by TKO. He will be looking for another quick TKO victory in this fight since his striking is far better than Hawk’s is. Hawk is four two and one and he earned this fight by winning both of his fights here in Honour. He fist defeated Steven Zisteau by knockout in less than a minute and then he beat Pud Pad Noyworawoot by TKO in less than a minute as well. I don’t think he will be able to match the standup of Chulainn’s so he should look for the take down. This is a tough fight for Hawk to win and I am picking Chulainn to win by TKO in the second round, but he can easily upset Chulainn.

Bosko Balaban (2-0) {2-0} versus Antero Mela (6-2) {0-0}

 

Balaban was a few fights away from getting a title fight but some unfortunate things went down and Bosko stepped up and took a title fight. He surprised me and most Honour fans when he disposed of Probert quickly in the first round. Bosko’s popularity soared after winning the strap and with a successful defense I am sure he will be one of the biggest names in the company. Great news for Bosko he is a striker that likes to finish quick and both of Mela’s losses came by TKO. Bosko is going to want to avoid the takedown and look to finish this quickly because he does not want to be on the mat with Mela. Mela is six and two but this will be his first fight in Honour, so how is he getting a shot at the title? Well he is on a three fight winning streak and he has competed for Sisu Fights and Evil Empire in St. Petersburg. He is a great wrestler and he has a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. His striking is lacking in comparisons to Balaban’s but his ground game is better. He should look for a quick takedown and not try to get fancy with him. Mela can easily win this fight by submission if he can get Bosko to the ground but I think Balaban will get the knockout in the first round before Antero has the chance.

Congratulations to the Filthy Finn, Erkki Heimolainen. Just getting out of the first round with the One Man Main Event, Quentin DeBramalo, will likely be the high point of your pathetic career.
