WC 22: CHAMPIONS preview

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1429986679wc22.png

The World Combat Championships is taking things to a whole new level on Saturday, May 9th down at the Liberty Dome in New York City, its WC 22: Champions! An astonishing THREE title fights grace the evening's stacked card including bouts for the WC Bantamweight, Light Heavyweight and Middleweight titles. And amazingly, that’s not all! The entire card is filled with great fighters including two former WC champs being featured on the undercard because the main card is too stacked! I'm Shtaaf Reimish, and enough of my blabbering about how astonishing this card is, let's get the previews rolling!

#7 Rickety Cricket (4-0) vs #12 Beast "The Monster" Masterson (0-0) Superheavyweight

The opening fight of WC 22 comes to us via the superheavyweight division as Rickety Cricket gets set to face Beast "The Monster" Masterson! Cricket comes to WC super-confident as he recently fought his way to four-straight QFC victories all via the TKO. He may be only 17, but the wrestler from San Francisco has proven he can duel it out with guys a lot older than him, but the skill level goes up now that he's in WC. I really do think he could be a WC star of the future! Masterson makes his pro debut here at WC 22, and there may be no better opportunity to show oneself off than a card like this! The Bahamian has been working hard at his Muay Thai skill set, and combined with decent wrestling attack, should be able to hang in there with Cricket.

Prediction: Cricket via TKO

Kale Strong (1-0) vs #14 "Iron Lungs" Smokey Simpson (3-2) Heavyweight

Next up we feature the first of three bouts from WC's heavyweight division as Kale Strong makes his sophomore trip into the octagon against "Iron Lungs" Smokey Simpson! Strong made his triumphant pro debut at 'April Fools' where he won in dramatic fashion with a superman punch that left Arn Anderson motionless midway through round one. The 17-year-old Canadian is managed by one of the all-time greats, Bowser Big Dog, and with that coaching, and his terrific striking skills, should be in good shape to continue his ascent up the WC heavyweight rankings. Simpson comes to WC after losing his WHCF debut via third round TKO to Jesse Thunder over in Hilo. The move to the bright lights of New York City will most likely be a good one for the California native, but will need to bring this fight to the canvas, which may be tough considering Strong's takedown defense, and utilize his brown BJJ belt if he has any sniff at defeating the teenager.

Prediction: Strong via KO

#10 "Ravishing" Rick Rude (4-1) vs #7 San Terra (13-8) Heavyweight

The first of 10 current or former title holders makes his trip into the WC 22 octagon as San Terra looks to begin a resurgence as he takes on "Ravishing" Rick Rude! Rude makes his WC debut here at WC 22 after fighting quite well in the Combat Purist organization, working his way up to a title fight but lost to now fellow WC fighter Drew Carvalho. The boxer from Germany last fought on April 11th where he TKO'd Christopher Vanhoijdonk early in the first round. Look for more stand-up from the German. Terra is a name very familiar to WC fans, however this is the WC undercard debut for the former WC superheavyweight champion. Winning the belt at the inaugural WC 1, Terra successfully defended it once before losing it to MPP in the next go-around. Things haven't gone well since then for the Polish striker, losing his last four-straight bouts all to the big names of the WC heavyweight division. He'll really need to dig in here if he has any chance at resurrecting his formerly successful career.

Prediction: Terra via TKO

#4 Angel "The Real Deal" Face (5-0) vs #6 Arthur "King" Carvalho (9-7) Middleweight

A couple of top 6 contenders in WC's middleweight division take center stage in the next bout as Angel "The Real Deal" Face takes on Arthur "King" Carvalho! Face comes to WC as the only middleweight champion the Vegas-based Tradition FC has ever had. he had to leave his belt behind, however, as he embarks on a new challenge here at WC, and boy are the stakes going up for the Vegas native. The 26-year-old has natural knockout power that has led him to five (T)KO wins in each of his professional fights, but this may be his best ground-attack opponent to date, so we'll see if he can defend the takedown once again. Carvalho has made quite a name for himself in WC with back-to-back wins after faltering in the later stages of the Island season. With his 'Sub of the Night' performance at WC 17 over Buba Harmon and his TKO victory over Saladin Hussain at WC 19, the Brazilian has proven he is here to compete at WC.

Prediction: Carvalho via submission

#2 Billy Tinkl (13-6) vs #8 Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain (10-6) Middleweight

Its really hard to believe that with all these great fighters that we're still on the undercard, but that's just the case as long time champion and top contender Billy Tinkl gets set for a tangle with Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain! Tinkl needs no further background to WC fans, as the former WC middleweight champion is coming off back-to-back title fight losses to Ska Asap. Their last battle lasted the full five rounds, with either fighter able to fully take command of the fight in what ended up being a bit of a snooze-fest of a grappling match. In the end, though, Asap won via decision, and now the #2 ranked Tinkl is force to fight his way back up to top contender status. It will not be a cakewalk for the native of Congo, however, as Hussain matches up quite nicely with him. Speaking of Hussain, the Afghan made his WC debut at WC 19 where he lost via second round TKO to Arthur Carvalho. Before that the 27-year-old fought well while with Highland Games before switching management to WC owner JJ Tycooner. This should be an interesting grappling battle that will surely be decided on the canvas.

Prediction: Hussain via submission

Bantamweight Championship Title Fight

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141208054957WorldHeavyweight.png

[C] Thaddeus "Junior" Fitzgerald (9-5) vs #1 "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard (8-2)

It's our first fight of the WC 22 main card, and it's also our first title fight of the evening! The WC Bantamweight belt is on the line as current title holder Thaddeus "Junior" Fitzgerald is ready to defend his belt for the first time against the #1 ranked contender "Silverback" Devin Jaqquard! Fitzgerald has done just about everything right since his WC debut loss to Tom Franks at WC 10, winning three straight decision fights en route to the WC bantamweight title. The New York native was able to keep that title fight against Bob out of the clinch enough to seal the victory utilizing his carefully placed head punches. At 9-5. There is still lots to prove for the 26-year-old, but winning the title is the start, defending it is a whole other animal. Jaqquard has made a quick ascent up the WC bantamweight rankings since emerging in the organization at 'April Fools,' winning two straight bouts against Ahokas and Jon to set up this huge fight. The Canadian is not afraid of taking the fight wherever he needs to as his win record clearly shows. With 4(T)KO, 2 submissions and 2 decision wins, he's proven he can win anywhere. This has all the makings of a title fight that could go down in memory lane forever!

Prediction: Jaqquard via submission

#1 Matt "Fondelier" Porcelain Punisher (16-2) vs #2 Mib "Home Run" Louie (13-6) Superheavyweight

It’s a superheavyweight top-contender battle to see who gets the next crack at current WC superheavyweight champ Skunk Asap between #1 Matt "Fondelier" Porcelain Punisher and #2 Mib "Home Run" Louie! After blazing his way to 14-straight victories to open his career, MPP hit his first setback at 'The Big Bang' losing his previously untouchable title to Skunk Asap. The LA native responded nicely with a spinning backfist KO of Vincent Obi at 'April Fools' to set up this fight-in bout with Louie. His knuckles have helped him to 14 of his 16 victories, so expect ore of the same from the former champ. Louie makes his debut as a superheavyweight after fighting his entire career until this point as a heavyweight, but after three-straight losses, decided a change was needed. The switch presents a potential gift to the Canadian, as a win here all but guarantees a title shot, something he was trending downwards of attaining as a heavyweight. He'll be giving up nearly 50 pounds to MPP, but hopefully that provides a quickness advantage he can utilize to its full potential.

Prediction: Punisher via TKO

Light Heavyweight Championship Title Fight

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141208054957WorldHeavyweight.png

[C] "The Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets (10-3) vs #1 Skunk Asap (14-4)

The third-to-last fight on the stacked WC 22's card features the second of three World Combat title fights, this one for the light heavyweight belt in a rematch between newly crowned light heavyweight champion "The Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets and the former light heavyweight champ and current superheavyweight title holder Skunk Asap! Von Sprockets made short of Asap in their last encounter at 'Beat Down' in early April, scoring the takedown seconds into the fight and eventually getting Asap to tap on his third submission attempt, an arm triangle. While only holding a blue BJJ belt, the German has proven he can tangle with the best on the canvas, scoring seven wins via submission in his pro career. This is Asap's fifth straight title fight with WC, including his superheavyweight win over MPP, a light heavyweight win over Jimmie Craig, before losing his LHW belt to Von Sprockets and a heavyweight tangle with Barney Gumble in his last fight at WC 19. He's got Muay Thai skills to burn, but if he can't defend the takedown, this may be another short night for the both of them.

Prediction: Von Sprockets via submission

#2 Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley (13-3) vs #3 Dick Wad (11-3) Heavyweight

The WC heavyweight division has never been so stacked full of talent, and WC 22's co-main event features two of its premier names in a battle for the potential chance to square off against the Gumble/Lazaro winner, its Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley vs Dick Wad! After a 9-1 start to his career, Offley was rewarded with his first title shot while with HG, losing to longtime HG heavyweight king and current WC champ Barney Gumble at HG 49. The Bahamian made the switch to WC eager to prove he can win a title fight, and it seems like only Wad is now standing in his way of that opportunity after defeating San Terra in his WC debut. Offley has always had amazing ground skills, but his stand-up game has improved immensely throughout his pro career. Wad was the unbeatable WC heavyweight king on the Island, before Gumble came along and dethroned him shortly before the Island season ended. After five title fight wins, the hard-striking Canadian fell via TKO and then furthered his misery by losing to Maki Pulu in his next bout. Wad seems to have recovered nicely here in New York, however, as he's reeled off back-to-back TKO wins over Ali Mouba and Mib Louie setting up this massive fight versus Offley.

Prediction: Offley via submission

Middleweight Championship Title Fight

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20141208054957WorldHeavyweight.png

[C] Ska Asap (18-5-1) vs #1 Arnavut "The Bird Man" Sevket (14-2)

And now, for the main event of the evening! The World Combat Championships together with Big Bear Nutrition presents five rounds for the undisputed WC middleweight champion of the world, it’s the champion, Ska Asap, taking on the #1 ranked WC contender and current HG middleweight champ, Arnavut "The Bird Man" Sevket! Asap is currently undefeated as a middleweight, winning back-to-back title fights over longtime middleweight champ Billy Tinkl here in New York. After spending most of his career as a welterweight, the Djibouti native is ready for the next challenge in his career, and boy do the stakes get raised! Asap will need to get the takedown early if he has any chance in this one, but judging by his recent success, it seems quite doable. Sevket has reeled off eight straight victories, including his run through the Middleweight Island tournament in which he exacted revenge on Massa Hurmaaja in the championship bout. His most recent fight saw him take the HG middleweight belt from former HG champ Grant Morrison via an awesome 5-round decision fight. It's his WC debut for the Turkish fighter, but he's primed and ready to become the second fighter to hold the WC and HG crowns after Gumble did it back on the Island. The unification is on!

Prediction: Sevket via TKO

The fireworks are primed and ready in what will surely go down as one of the greatest evenings of fighting in New York MMA history! With three title fights, and ten champions (either current or former) making their way into the octagon, WC 22: Champions will be a can't miss event for anyone who calls themselves an MMA fan! I simply cannot wait to take my seat (although I don't think I'll need it) down at the Liberty Dome this weekend! See you Saturday!

Amazing card guys, although as an org owner I'm thinking "Shit what will they do for the next few weeks" haha.

Really pumped up for the Asap / Sevket fight. Sevket's probably the best ever fighter for someone to practise their slider skills with but I feel I'll have to be masterful to pull it off. Good luck guys, your records are being smashed with this card.

Great fight with Ska Asap. Arnavut Sevket is such a great guy to practise sliders with. If you're going to strike him, he can take you down and GnP or Sub. If you're a wrestler or submission guy, he can control on the feet or take it into the clinch. So many options with him.

Ska with the instant takedown was unexpected. I thought that was going to decide the fight but Sevket turned it around.

Really surprised this car fell short of WC 16. I thought you were easily gonna hit 400 with it. Bit disappointing that it didnt hit higher but still some great fights. HUGE win for Saladin Hussain over Billy Tinkl. Awesome seeing Devin Jaqquard get to this level too. He was by a landslide the hardest cut for me due to age.

"And the new........." Now that I've achieved my destiny to be champion, I couldn't be any happier. Mad props to the ex-champ Mr. Fitzgerald, I got nothing but respect for you and you gave me a great fight. I just wanted it more. The division is stacked with a bunch of talented and hungry up and comers and I'm excited to have the chance to defend the belt against these guys. I'm gonna keep working my tail off to make sure this belt stays on my waist for a long time.

Nothing, nothing, bugs me more than seeing bums I could thrash blindfolded and with my arms tied behind my back, that are overhyped and overpaid and most certainly over respected. You will see what I mean when I show you.

Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard for example, he is ranked 21 right now. And I could pick him apart. I could kick him in the leg for the whole fight and still win. He is worth 200k? Rubbish.

These guys fighting Sevrit and Asap Rocky or whatever, whats special about them? They lived on an island and were forced to fight? Haha.... Sounds like some bad TV show.

I'll put any of them in an island, in their dreams. In a coma after I head kick them.

I'll fight in any weight class welterweight or lower, if you are an overhyped and over respected islander and think you can fight me. Lets do it. I get to fight one shortly.

But we all know, you reading. You are too scared to fight me, because I am better than you. I will whoop you and I will mock you after I see your stiff motionless body on the canvas. And I will expose you, Tony Bulland, Ska Asap Rocky, Sevrit bird man, Ali Roumani. Just to name a few.

After I kick, elbow and knee the shit out of this next guy I face, I expect at least one of you to man up and face your fate. But who am I kidding? We all know you got to where you are by fighting bums.

Arnavut Sevket

For my entire career, I have fought the best.

Massimo Benvenuti, Massa Hurmaaja, Grant Morrison...

These are the fighters I have had the honour of competing against.

I don't fight talkative kids. That's why I compete where I do.

The company I fight for filters out the little dogs that bark.

If you gain a few years and pounds, maybe then we can talk.

Hahaha, don't make me laugh old man. The best?!

Benvenuti, Hurmaaja and Grant Morrison are all cans who I could crush with a foot stomp. They are the ones you choose to name? Get outta here, you are smart moving to another org to duck me. But not smart enough, maybe if you ever choose to really challenge the best, you will come back and fight me. A real challenge.

...Fucking island bums parade around like they're the best when not one has the courage to face me fist to fist, kick to kick, knee to knee, elbow to elbow.

Cowards. Hiding behind your inflated record and bank accounts. Fight a real fighter who can challenge you.

Arnavut Sevket

I expect to defend my World Combat championship when I return sometime next month.

If you have gained credibility by then, and the promoter believes you are worthy, I would happily defend my belt against you.

However, I would much prefer to defend against someone who is a proven warrior.

I will fight whoever the promoter asks me to fight.

WC: Wednesday Night Fights 1

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1430283981Wednesday.png

PREVIEW

Welcome! World Combat Championship is proud to present the first edition of Wednesday Night Fights! We want to thank Hard Knocks – NewYork for setting up the arena for this amazing event. WC and its fighters also want to acknowledge Big Bear Nutrition for being steady partners for the organization and providing great products to warriors inside the cage.

Now let's get started! We have 10 fights in store for you. Let me give you a sneak peek and some predictions at the matches up ahead.

Burenka Mu Mu (0 – 0) vs. Ted “The Million Dollar Man” Dibiase (0 – 2)

Heavyweight Division

We start our event with fighters wanting to prove something in the cage. 26-year-old Burenka Mu Mu hopes to get a win in his first fight as a mixed martial artist and getting a great start in World Combat Championship. On the other hand, Ted “The Million Dollar Man” Dibiase wants to win, following two consecutive losses by TKO, this time around to demonstrate his ability to prove his worth in the division and the organization.

Mu Mu, who is 220 cm and weighs 280 lbs, is significantly taller and bigger than Dibiase who is only 191 cm tall and weighs 240 lbs. Add Mu Mu's remarkable boxing and competent wrestling, he can dominate the standup and ground game. We can't take anything away from the Million Dollar Man though. Dibiase has wonderful wrestling but is also comfortable trading strikes with his opponents. One factor in Dibiase's arsenal is being a cornered animal. Two straight losses in WC for Ted Dibiase means this fight is “kill or be killed”. Another loss might jeopardize his career in the organization.

Can Mu Mu pop the cherry with a bang? Or will Dibiase's survival instinct kick in and make the difference?

The Dog Sharik (0 – 1) vs. Ioannis Markakis (1 – 1)

Middleweight Division

This Light Heavyweight bout features the new talent in the division. The Dog Sharik comes with an excellent Muai Thai background and is said by scouts to have natural KO power in his hits. His first fight did not go well though as he lost via a late submission in the 3rd round against journeyman fighter David Trezeguet (21 – 35) in the Quick Fight Championship. Sharik's opponent, Ioannis Markakis hopes to counter that KO power with his granite chin. Markakis' 1 win 1 loss record does not fully give an account of his ability but reports indicate a strong wrestling and jiu jitsu background for him.

These two fighters have not shown their full capabilities in the cage so this fight is up for grabs. Will superior Mua Thai by Sharik clinch the win? Or Markakis' ground game take down the victory?

Zailer “The Tailor” Bronson (2 – 0) vs. Nicolas “Nico” Gracie (1 – 0 )

Light Heavyweight Division

This match up presents two youngsters with different approaches of reaching the top of the Heavyweight Division. Zailer “The Tailor” Bronson is an example of a well rounded mixed martial artist. Bronson might have no specialty in his skills but his balanced approach in fighting already garnered him two wins in his career. His temperament is said to be of a brawler with massive confidence but he has shown to be capable of submitting his opponents and winning with points. Nicolas “Nico” Gracie might not be as well rounded as Bronson but he sure is a capable wrestler and jiu jitsu artist. This capacity was shown with a first round submission victory in his first fight as a mixed martial artist. Nico, as his trainers and training partners call him, is said to be an intelligent fighter, cerebral even, in the cage. Gracie hopes to take the fight into the ground and use his superior skills and intelligence there to gain the victory.

It is hard to decide who will come out of this bout as the winner and it might be up to the viewers and their preference for the jack of all trades or an effective one dimensional fighter.

Steven "Die Klappershlange" Hofmann (2 – 2) vs. Yury “The Killer” Soares (3 – 2)

Bantamweight Division

The two fighters here are coming off of inconsistent performances and they hope to get a win to spark better outcomes in the future. Starting with Steven "Die Klappershlange" Hofmann we have a fighter who won his first two fights then lost the next two. He has shown to be aggressive in the cage which proved to be both a strength and weakness. Hofmann does have vicious kicks that complement his striking and as I found out his nickname “Die Klappershlange” means “The Rattlesnake” so it's safe to say that those kicks have venom in them! The Brazilian Yury “The Killer” Soares comes in with a trend of winning a fight and then losing the next. Soares is a Muai Thai expert with the same or even more aggression as Hofmann espescially in getting the clinch. He can also get away with that agression because of a solid chin which allows him to move forward without any worries.

This fight seems to go to a brawl as these two fighters have a tendency to go toe to toe with their opponents. It might just only be a matter of who's going to get the big shot first to determine the winner in this bout. Can The Rattlesnake inject his deadly venom? Or will Soares play exterminator and come out the victor?

Michael “The Terror” Cera (3 – 0) vs. Antero Vipunen (2 – 1)

Bantamweight Division

The second bantamweight fight we have features submission artist Michael “The Terror” Cera and Antero Vipunen. Micheal Cera is a fighter that boasts a 3 – 0 record with all of his fights ending in a submission. The Terror wants to keep this streak alive as he faces his first opponent here in World Combat Championship. It won't be an easy task though, as Anter Vipunen is a solid all-around fighter and that versatility might be the difference in the bout. “The Terror” Cera would prefer this fight to go to the ground and because Vipunen has been submitted before he does have a chance of finishing battle with another submission vicotry. But Vipunen has shown an ability to land solid shots and score points so an over enthusiastic Cera might be in trouble.

This fight is pivotal for these two fighters because both of them present challenges to each other. This is again up for grabs. A versatile fighter against a warrior with a honed skill. A win for either Cera or Vipunen will be a boost to their stature in the division and also help them learn what can be done to improve their game.

#9 Axe “Repeatedly” MeatsFlesh (3 – 4) vs. #8 Dhal Sim (5 – 3)

Light Heavyweight Division

This light heavyweight bout is definitely going to shake up the rankings in the division. 9th ranked WC Heavyweight Axe “Repeatedly” MeatsFlesh is a fighter that is suffering from a 3 fight losing streak. And two of these losses came from our current 4th ranked light heavyweight Doyle Hawk (7 – 4). This fight means a lot to MeatsFlesh because it is a chance to get back on the winning track and go up the division ladder. It's hitting two birds with one stone as they say. He will try to get the win by utilizing his remarkable stand up game and proficient wrestling. His strong chin will also be a factor if he wants to slug it out and stay on his feet. Now, our 8th ranked Dhal Sim is actually a kickboxing veteran more than a mixed martial arts one. His first 7 fights came in PRIDE which is a kickboxing event. His first fight in the cage, however, resulted in a disappointing submission loss to Charlie Simpson. A win over MeatsFlesh results in a good comeback for Dhal Sim and will show that he has adapted to the mma game. Sim's arsenal includes his wonderful Mua Thai expertise and a gas tank that can do the long haul.

Dhal Sim looks to be a more rounded fighter than Axe MeatsFlesh and that could spell the difference in the bout. We still can't count out MeatsFlesh because he has shown in the past his power. Still, I say Dhal Sim is the favorite here and I predict a stoppage via strikes in the clinch.

Floyd “Pork Chop” Patterson (4 – 0) vs. Mike Jursllla (2 – 0)

Heavyweight Division

This fight in the heavyweight division might be a potential scene stealer in the event as Floyd “Pork Chop” Patterson is set to face Mike Jursllla. “Pork Chop” Patterson has started his mma career strong. 4 fights and all wins this fighter has literally submitted his opponents with his vicious strikes. But now in WC he faces better opposition than the ones found in QFC. This fight is certainly a proving ground to see if he can stand and fight with the big guys. Patterson is a fighter with exceptional wrestling but interestingly enough, his gameplan is to go to the clinch and use his ferocious elbows to administer damage. The Swedish giant Mike Jurslla had a great start at WC by defeating Bobby Rude via TKO. Jurslla is said to be quick and possesses solid Muai Thai and a decent wrestling ability. These skills should help him in evading the closing in of Patterson if Pork Chop's gameplan is still to clinch and set up Jurslla's striking on the outside.

The scenario of the fight is interesting since both fighter like to slug it out. From what I see on paper, Floyd Patterson is ahead. And I can't discount the dominating performances of Pork Chop against his opponents in the QFC. So, I go for Patterson here winning via TKO.

#8 "The Crown Prince" Arthas Menethil (5 – 1) vs. Timmy "The Black Mamba" TwoTone (6 – 2)

Bantamweight Division

The last undercard on this event squares off “The Crown Prince” Arthas Menethil against Timmy "The Black Mamba" TwoTone. Arthas Menethil, our 8th ranked bantamweight, will be playing gatekeeper in this match. If Menethil also gets a win here he can possibly penetrate higher up the ranks that would lead to better chances for a title shot. The Crown Prince is a submission specialist who likes to take to the ground but he has shown an effort of improving his striking as evidenced by his KO victory against CJ Stone in WC 19. Arthas Menethil would probably still be focused on getting the ground game started since it is his forte. Menethil's opponent, Timmy TwoTone, is making his debut fight for WC in this event. A veteran of 8 fights and winning 6, The Black Mamba has a solid Muai Thai base and has power in his strikes with 5 of his 6 wins come from TKOs. He has been unlucky in his last three fights winning only one of these. A crucial point to notice is that TwoTone's two losses came from fighters with really good wrestling and jiu jitsu. This fight is Timmy TwoTone's chance to prove to his doubters that he can take on good wrestlers and grapplers.

From what I see, what Menethil's advantage over the ground game is counerbalanced by better Muai Thai and boxing by TwoTone. I haven't seen The Crown Prince take on a formidable striker before TwoTone so I don't have a guess on how he'll fare. But what we have is proof that The Black Mamba has a hard time on the ground. So from the information I have, I'll go for “The Crown Prince” Arthas Menethis to win it via unanimous decision or submission.

#7 Dark Terror (5 – 2) vs. #4 Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain (11 – 6)

Middleweight Division

Here is our co-main event! Dark Terror versus Saladin "Quick Sand" Hussain! This is an exciting matchup as these two fighters are masters of groundwork and we expect to see some amazing wrestling and jiu jitsu. Starting of with Dark Terror, we have a fighter who is a vicious brawler that will take you on standing or on the ground. He is a wonderful wrestler and he uses that advantage to take control of the top position and land sinister blows to his opponents. With all of his wins coming by way of TKO we expect Terror to do the same here against Hussain. “Quick Sand” Hussain uses the ground as well but with a different weapon of choice. His submissions are menacing and his 3 sumbission of the night awards is a testament to the level of skill he has in that area. Hussain recently recorded a win against rank 2 middleweight Billy Tinkl (13 – 7) and a win here can give him closer to his title hopes.

Looking at these two fighters it can go either way. If they both decide to go on the ground early then I see Hussain getting the edge because of his superior jiu jitsu skills. Quick Sand can fend off Terror's wrestling with his own and the submission will be there for the taking I think. But if Terror would try to stay standing and set up his striking then I think Dark Terror takes this one.

#4 Magnus “Bear” Cross (14 – 8) vs. #7 Chang "Fung" Pi (7 – 1)

Heavyweight Division

We go to our main event! Magnus “Bear” Cross going toe to toe with Chang “Fung” Pi! This fight is definitely a game changer for both of these fighters and the division as the winner of this bout will surely be noticed and might be in contention for the title! The Island semi-finalist Magnus “Bear” Cross is set to continue his winning streak here in WC. His last two fights have ended in TKO victories and one of those wins was against former World Combat champion #6 San Terra (14 – 8). Furthermore, all of his wins came from TKOs and that is due to the fact that he has exceptional boxing for his standup game superb wrestling for ground and pound. Cross also possesses iron lungs and this allows him to continue that barrage of strikes. Chang “Fung” Pi is relatively a newcomer in the sport but has shown great promise by winning seven of his eight fights with 6 of those wins via TKO. Pi is also a fearsome striker and is willing to exchange blows with anyone. This surely going to be a brawl between these two fighters!

I predict Cross is going to win by virtue of experience. Cross might be younger but the frequency of his fights have improved his game immensely and his skill might be beyond his age. If Pi can't mix things up and just go head to head with Cross then I don't think it's going to end well. Cross via TKO victory.

We hope you enjoy this preview of WC: Wednesday Night Fights 1 and we hope to see you on the 13th of May!
