LEGACY! 38 - Available on PPV

01.09.16

Tokyo Bowl - Tokyo

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 38

PRELIMS

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Josh Massey (5-1) vs Louie Litt (3-0-1)
WELTERWEIGHT: Eddie Melo (10-8-1) vs Obi Canuel (5-1)
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Ernesto Oliveira (48-17) vs Evan Horizon (17-11)
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Dave Brown (12-5-1) vs Will Do (18-6)
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Ghiorghos Papadopoulos (23-29) vs Vince Dixon (39-33)

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT: Obelix De Gaul (10-5) vs The Chin (14-6)
In this heavyweight matchup, The Chin is making his debut in the LEGACY! promotion after having some great years in the NYFN and Hostility organizations, including being a champion in both. Chin is just 2-4 in his last 6 fights after leaving NYFN and is certainly not thought of as highly as he once was. He still has some very powerful and technical boxing that has led him to TKO wins in all of his 14 wins. He’ll go up against Obelix De Gaul who is 1-1 in the promotion after a solid win by stoppage in the 3rd round against a scuffling Travis Browne. That loss marked Browne’s third loss in a row. These guys have a lot of room to grow in the promotion, but the loser will certainly be on the wrong side of an eventual contender’s role. De Gaul is another very solid boxer with a ton of pop in his hands. This fight should almost certainly turn into a boxing match and a fight that one shot could turn out the lights for either guy.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Wendel Clark (12-3) vs Ed Gennero (16-8)
After climbing the ranks in LEGACY! very quickly and earning himself a title fight, Ed Gennero is back to the grind after being knocked out in the 2nd round by champion Cid Strife. A long time champion in the LFC promotion, Gennero is an elite boxer with a lot of power in his hands. He also owns a knockout win by spinning backfist, which proves he isn’t just a stuck in the mud traditional boxer. The guy that had the honor of fighting Strife for the title before Gennero is his opponent in this fight, Wendel Clark. Clark put up an amazing effort in a 5 round thriller that all 3 judges scored 48-47 for Strife. Clark certainly proved he belonged at the top of the division. Both guys need a win to get back in contention for another shot at Strife. Gennero is probably the more skilled fighter, but Clark fights with such raw passion and athleticism that he’s able to generally make up for it.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: © John Bunting (36-14) vs Declan Sweeney (34-16)
John Bunting is looking to defend his Super Heavyweight title for the second straight time. Bunting won the title in his first fight in LEGACY! with a decision win over Dave Brown and retained it in his last fight against Mookie Blaylock, knocking him out in the very first round. Declan Sweeney is a long time contender in the Evolution promotion and has history with the champion. Over 6 years ago, these two collided on multiple occasions. Bunting won the first fight by TKO in the 3rd round, but Sweeney returned the favor in the rematch with a 2nd round knockout win. The trilogy should be an amazing fight as both guys are capable of finishing fights at a moment’s notice. Sweeney is coming off an amazing knockout win over James Bomb by slam in his last fight. These guys to everything with a ton of power, so it really is anybody’s fight in this trilogy of a title fight.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: © Liam McGuiness (20-10 vs Edinger Nucleus (15-4)
In yet another title fight on this man card, Light Heavyweight champion Liam McGuiness is looking to stay unbeaten in the promotion and retain his title against journeyman turned contender Edinger Nucleus. A loser of three straight fights in LEGACY!, Nucleus has rebounded with a couple of impressive wins in a row, including a first round submission win over Ivan Kuznetsov in his last fight. McGuiness is a ridiculous 11-1 in his last 12 fights. That was against quality competition and half of those fights were title fights. Nucleus is a tough all around fighter who could cause some problems for the champion on the ground, but McGuiness is so tough on the feet with his boxing and solid takedown defense. The guy that was close to being bounced from the promotion not long ago could be on his way to being a champion if he can put his BJJ skills to use in this fight. It’ll be a tall task though, as previously mentioned, McGuiness has fought the best competition and came out on top for years now.

WELTERWEIGHT: Gonna Spanked (34-13-1) vs Booker McQuade (39-7)
What is there to say about Booker McQuade? The guy has won 17 straight fights in the CECF promotion and all but 3 have been title defenses. He has 31 of his 39 wins by TKO and has just amazing kicks to go along with his stellar boxing. The only knock is that he hasn’t fought top level competition and at age 32, that has to be a scary thing. He’ll get that in this fight though, Gonna Spanked is a former champion and long term contender in the Synchronicity fight organization that is arguably the best in the world. Spanked has gotten a bad rep as a bit of a decision artist as 19 of his wins have come by decision, but he’s also fought some of the toughest guys in the world. It’ll be interesting to see how McQuade’s skills look against a guy who has been in the octagon with the best like Spanked has. Spanked is ridiculously durable, so a finish from McQuade in this fight would basically shut down the level of competition argument that most make against the guy.

Well well, first of all i would like to say good work to Nucleus for a tough fight.

I thought i would make mince meat of you but you were a lot tougher than you look! You almost had me beat but I had my Lucky Liam Charms this morning (Now available at Sully's Bar & Grill on The Island!) and that gave me the boost I needed to dig deep into the Championship rounds and take my belt home!

Now, while i am not happy with the draw i am happy to go home with my belt. If you are stupid enough to want to get back into the cage with me, i will not leave doubt in the hands of the judges!

Ok Earwax Nosehole, it looks like i didn't inflict enough damage to you and now you want another chance at my belt?

Unfortunately for you, i already accepted the rematch so there is no escape now. You can't even fly out to The Island for some of my Lucky Liam's Charms to give you that edge!

(Pause)

"Ahhhh... There is no other way to start the day than with a bowl of Lucky Liam's Charms. Now available at Sully's Bar & Grill on The Island)

But back to the task at hand. This time there will be no judges needed as I make you think twice before going after my belt again! :boxing:

LEGACY! 39 - Available on PPV

01.15.16

Belle Centre - Montreal

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 39

PRELIMS

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Artem Irhin (6-5) vs Arthur Halo (11-4)
WELTERWEIGHT: Uri Haber (8-1-1) vs Carney Duffy (10-8)
WELTERWEIGHT: Hiroshimo Sakamoto (8-5-1) vs Pekka Kindmark (11-4)
MIDDLEWEIGHT: John Altare (11-5) vs Kabal Labak (12-6-1)
WELTERWEIGHT: Better Dead (16-12) vs Randall Wickam (11-5-1)

MAIN CARD

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Brian Pereira (10-7-1) vs Humphrey Baker (13-5)
After closing his time in Imperial as the champion at 205 pounds with a 2nd round TKO of Johny Clattenburg, Humphrey Baker entered LEGACY! as a definite contender for the title. In his debut fight, Johny Clattenburg gave Baker a dose of his own medicine as he knocked him out in the 2nd round. Brian Pereira won his debut fight last time out, but it was against a guy that probably won’t be around much longer in the promotion. At 0-2-1, Agustin Trujillo is dangerously close to a pink slip and while Pereira’s 3rd round TKO of him was a good thing, he still has a lot to prove in this fight against Humphrey Baker. Baker represents the biggest challenge in his career and a win will give him instant credibility in the division. Stylistically, Baker provides a stout challenge on the feet with his powerful boxing and Pereira’s submission game could pose issues for Baker, but he has never been tapped in his career. This is your classic striker versus grappler fight so it will come down to who gets the fight where they are comfortable at.

WELTERWEIGHT: Dre Still (10-3) vs George Pedro (13-6-1)
After failing to capitalize on a title shot against Arlington Beech, Dre Still will start his quest for a title shot once again. Still was a dominant champion at INY and also challenged unsuccessfully for the title in Imperial. A black belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Still is incredibly dangerous on the ground with 6 of his 10 wins coming by way of submission. Another interesting note is that Still has never lost in a non-title fight in his young career. After a long time in Imperial, George Pedro finally got a title shot in his last fight and ended up with a dead even draw from the judges against Chief Tappenahomma. Pedro has proved to be very durable in his career as he’s only been finished once in his 20 fight career and that was by submission. Pedro has a much better chance in this fight if it stays standing, so it will be critical for his takedown defense to be on point against such a dangerous grappler. Still will have to mind his p’s and q’s on the feet because of the power that George Pedro brings with his striking. This should be a very entertaining fight between 2 guys who were title contenders not long ago.

MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Cid Strife (14-1) vs Rupert Blasts (8-0)
At just 25 years old, Cid Strife has solidified himself as one of the top middleweights in MMA. Strife is 14-1 in his career that includes 10 title fights. His only loss was a stoppage due to a cut against Chief Tappenahomma, but he would go on to reclaim the Imperial title in his next fight against Manolito Damhuis. Strife is an extremely durable striker who has only been finished once in 15 fights. He has several decision wins on his resume against top quality competition that show he doesn’t have to just knock guys out. Rupert Blasts has come out of nowhere to quickly place himself in the title picture. His only two fights inside a legitimate organization were wins in the LEGACY! promotion and he remains unbeaten overall at 8-0. Blasts is a striker as well and it hasn’t mattered so far if it’s on the feet or the clinch. If Blasts were to pull off a win in this fight, it may go down as one of the biggest upsets in promotion history. Blasts is certainly very talented, but he doesn’t have the pedigree of even most of the title contenders behind him.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Culver Crimson (10-2) vs Eeazy E (25-6)
Where would Culver Crimson be right now if Nick Fjera didn’t exist? The answer is he would be the champion and main eventing this card, instead of fighting in the co-main event. Crimson is 6-0 inside the promotion and even claimed the 265+ pound title at one point. He went on to lose that title to Nick Fjera in his first title defense by submission though. After a couple of impressive wins, he was granted a rematch against Fjera. This time the fight hit the scorecards and Fjera won a razor sharp 48-47 decision win. One would expect to see these guys fight again and fulfill the trilogy, but Crimson has to climb the ladder again and it starts with Eeazy E. E dominated the now defunct Las Vegas Prizefighting organization and is currently riding a 10 fight winning streak, all of which came by knockout. He isn’t a very technical striker, but E has some impressive power. We’ll see if that power will translate over in the much tougher LEGACY! promotion in this fight.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Nick Fjera (13-2-1) vs Ji Lu (17-4)
Nick Fjera has dominated this division since the day he stepped foot in it, but with Stu Grimson signing and winning his first two fights in the promotion, one has to wonder if Fjera have Grimson in the back of his mind. Grimson is the only man to defeat Fjera in his career and did so twice by completely knocking him out and taking his title. If Fjera’s fight isn’t all the way in this fight, he’ll more than likely be dropped by Ji Lu. Lu was a former champion in Imperial and has started his stay in LEGACY! with two quick finishes by knockout. Lu is almost exclusively a boxer, but he does have ability in the clinch to dirty box as well. It’ll be important for him to keep this fight standing because few guys in MMA are better than Nick Fjera on the ground. Fjera owns 9 of his 13 wins by submission and is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, so it will be interesting to see if Lu just tries to avoid going to the ground at all costs.

LEGACY! 40 - Available on PPV

01.16.16

Belle Centre - Montreal

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 40

PRELIMS

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Francisco dAnconia (7-6-1) vs Daniel Williams (6-1)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Ivan Kuznetsov (12-6) vs Carlos Diaz (9-4)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Ryzen Dall (7-1) vs Winston Churchill (10-8)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Guido Gloom (13-5) vs Ziba Halo (9-4)
HEAVYWEIGHT: Thomas Bannon (7-4) vs Farrokh Bulsara (9-2)

MAIN CARD

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Johan Atila (12-4) vs Johny Clattenburg (11-6)
After failing to capture the title in his last bout, Johny Clattenburg is looking to get back on the right track with a win in a rematch of a fight that happened a little over a year ago in the Imperial organization. Clattenburg picked up the 30-27 unanimous decision win over Johan Atila in that fight by stuffing 8 takedown attempts and throwing with a lot of volume in the striking game. Atila finished the struggling Agustin Trujillo in the 3rd round in his LEGACY! debut, but this is a big step up in competition. Atila is a ground and pound wrestler to a “t” and I’m sure he’ll be looking to successfully put Clattenburg on his back in this fight. If he can get that done, his ground game should lead to some heavy ground and pound that Clattenburg might not be able to survive. On the feet, Clattenburg should still have a sizable edge in the boxing department that he’ll look to use once again. This fight will be decided from the takedown attempts of Johan Atila.

BANTAMWEIGHT: Ruud Gullit (28-9) vs Barack Obama (8-3)
After leaving the LFC promotion on top of the hill with the title and a couple successful title defenses, Ruud Gullit has been defeated in both of his first two fights in the promotion. If he wants to challenge for another title any time soon, Gullit will have to get busy and pick up some wins in his next few fights. In this fight, he’ll face off against prospect Barack Obama. Obama is 3-2 in LEGACY! fights and both losses have been to former champion William Blake. At just 23 years old, Obama will be a full decade younger than his opponent. Obama is a very similar fighter stylistically, as he also favors his boxing abilities more than anything else. He’s never been finished by knockout in his short career, but the bruising power of Ruud Gullit could do the job if one of the bombs that Gullit throws slips through his guard. One would have to think that this fight will be an all-out war on the feet and whoever possesses the better technical boxing and strike defense will come out on top.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Mookie Blaylock (28-11) vs Daniel Campos (23-10-1)
Johny Clattenburg isn’t the only fighter coming off a loss in a title fight in his last fight, Mookie Blaylock also came up short against champion John Bunting. Bunting finished Blaylock late in the first round by knockout. Blaylock has been knocked out 7 times in his career, but also has 23 of his 28 wins by knockout, so he definitely doesn’t mind getting into firefights on the feet. He should get his wish in this fight as Daniel Campos has 19 of his 23 wins by knockout and isn’t a threat to finish on the ground. Campos has been the champion in the CCF promotions a couple of different times and has been around the block at age 35. He’ll be the older fighter by a few years in this one, so it’ll be interesting to see if his chin is still up to the task of taking it from powerful strikers like Mookie Blaylock. If it is, we should find ourselves in an all-out firefight that only ends with a referee stepping in to pull one guy off the other.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Phillip Dyson (17-6) vs Rex Tyrannosaurus (24-8)
A top 20 Super Heavyweight on the kickboxing scene, Rex Tyrannosaurus will make his long awaited LEGACY! debut in this fight. Tyrannosaurus had a 10 fight winning streak snapped and his title lost in his last fight in the Destiny promotion. At age 34, he has shown no signs of slowing up and with a win in this fight plus the hype he enters with, Tyrannosaurus could find himself in a contenders match relatively soon. He’ll fight a man in this one that has been around the block himself and hasn’t even hit age 30 yet. Phillip Dyson is 2-1 in the promotion and fought with Team Thomas Fight Club successfully before arriving here. In 23 career fights, 22 of his fights have ended by knockout in one way or the other. It’ll be interesting to see if Dyson decides to just stand and trade with such a well-known striker as Tyrannosaurus or if he decides to test his ground game. One would think an avenue to victory for Dyson would be getting his opponent on the ground and working for a choke of some kind, but time will tell.

FEATHERWEIGHT: Predator Burns (13-3) vs John Jamison (30-20-1)
Predator Burns is currently riding a 7 fight winning streak, including a 2nd round submission win over 145 pound contender Jack Judo. Burns is a very well-known ground fighter who combines fantastic wrestling with his black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The result for those who aren’t up to task is typically a triangle or an armbar, but Burns is capable of running the gauntlet in terms of different submissions. John Jamison is on the top 10 145 pounders in the world right now and has only been finished 3 times by submission in over 50 professional fights. Jamison also likes to do his business on the ground and has 14 submission victories to show for it. Neither fighter offers much power on the feet, so if we see a finish in this one it’ll more than likely be a submission. Jamison is making his debut in the promotion against a very tough opponent and Burns is trying to secure his second straight win and hopefully a title shot in the process.

LEGACY! 41 - Available on PPV

01.22.16

Belle Centre - Montreal

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 41

PRELIMS

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Brownie Anderson (43-26-1) vs Tanner Pond (11-6)

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Adelbert Gainsborough (15-12) vs Sandor Clegane (13-8)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Matt Kroblur (7-2) vs Johny Persecutioned (11-9)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Mike Hussle (13-8) vs Project Falcon (7-1)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Lorne Malvo (12-3) vs Temudjin Khaan (11-5)

MAIN CARD

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Dave Brown (13-5-1) vs Evan Horizon (18-11)
In our first fight on the main card, Dave Brown is a fight removed from his unanimous decision loss to John Bunting for the title. He bounced back with a second round submission win over Will Do in his last fight. He’ll get a chance at the 2-0 in LEGACY! fights, Evan Horizon. Horizon has looked impressive so far and typically prefers to keep fights on the feet. He has impressive power, as evidenced by his 12 TKO victories, but he’s also been knocked out 6 times. Brown is more of a well-rounded fighter with a solid submission attack to go with his striking. It’ll be interesting to see if Brown decides to take this fight to the ground because Horizon is very good defensively on the ground and has never been subbed in his nearly 30 fight career. Dave Brown has won five straight fights sandwiched around that title loss, so it’ll be very interesting to see what Horizon can do against a guy with such a pedigree.

WELTERWEIGHT: Antonio Lobo (18-2) vs Drake Kartella (18-6-3)
Coyotile legend Antonio Lobo had been very impressive since arriving in LEGACY! before running into Chad Murray. Lobo won his first two fights by submission and looked like he could be a title contender. In the matchup of potential contenders, Murray came out with the unanimous decision win. He’ll face former WFC champ Drake Kartella in this fight. Kartella won his opening fight, but is currently on a 2 fight losing streak after being finished by Chiku Maneno and Kelvin Parker. Both of those guys have fought for the title before and it seems like Kartella needs a little more seasoning before stepping back up to that level of competition again. Lobo is an amazing finisher on the ground with 15 of his 18 wins coming by submission. Kartella is more equal opportunity as far as finishes go, he has 9 by TKO and 7 by submission. Kartella will certainly try to keep this fight standing and pick up one of the best wins of his career in this fight.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Booker McQuade (39-8) vs Shogun Iron Tyson (15-8)
Booker McQuade went 39-7 in his extensive experience in the CEFC promotion. That stint included being a 5 time champion at 155 pounds. Originally debuting at 170 pounds in LEGACY!, McQuade was easily finished in the first round by top 100 pound for pound fighter Gonna Spanked. McQuade will drop down to 155 pounds, where he’s fought his entire career for this fight. He’ll face another former champion in this fight, the debuting Shogun Iron Tyson. Tyson was the champion at 145 pounds in UNFC. He’ll make his debut in this fight at 155 pounds after losing his previous 155 pound fight in UNFC for the title. Both fighters have a lot of ability on the feet, but Tyson has failed to register a finish in 8 fights now. Before that loss to Gonna Spanked, Booker McQuade was on a 17 fight winning streak, so it’ll be interesting to see how he responds to such a devastating loss in this fight.

BANTAMWEIGHT: Da Skrumbo (19-5) vs Barack Obama (9-3)
In the co-main event, we have a young man with a ton of talent going against a contender in Da Skrumbo. Every time Barack Obama gets some momentum rolling in this promotion, he seems to let it go instead of capitalizing. At 4-2 in the promotion, Obama represents a fighter that has the diversified skillset to cause trouble for many opponents, but can’t be counted on to win the tough fight. At just 23 years old, Obama has a long time left in his career, but he needs to start showing consistency and the will to win. He gets a tough challenge against Da Skrumbo who is 2-0 since losing his final fight for the title in the LFC promotion. Skrumbo has some of the best boxing in the organization and a ton of power behind it. 18 of his 19 wins have come by TKO and he’ll look to hand Barack Obama his 4th career loss in this fight. The youngster Obama may be wise to try to take this fight to the ground if he wants to come out victorious.

WELTERWEIGHT: Kelvin Parker (13-4) vs Better Dead (17-12)
In our main event of the evening we have a rematch of a title fight from about 18 months ago. Kelvin Parker successfully defended his title against Better Dead with a 5th round TKO finish in a dominant performance. Parker was 5-7 with his takedowns and unleashed a massive amount of ground and pound against Dead who was very fortunate to survive until the 5th round. Parker was constantly busy on the ground with not only the ground and pound that eventually won him the fight, but with a myriad of submissions. In the rematch, Dead will certainly try to keep the fight standing where he has a more favorable matchup. Parker’s on a three fight winning streak since losing his title to Arlington Beech. A win in this fight could set up a rematch with Beech after he was finished early in round two in the first fight. Dead has sputtered since that fight, so this fight could represent his way to stop the bleeding and gain some swagger back.

LEGACY! 42 - Available on PPV

01.23.16

Belle Centre - Montreal

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 42

PRELIMS

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Pablo Escobar (13-5) vs Wayne Conner (8-5)
WELTERWEIGHT: Michael Amp (14-5-1) vs Erik Kramer (9-5)
WELTERWEIGHT: Jericho Hill (8-3) vs Jeremy Dunham (12-10)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Alexsandro De Souza (11-2) vs Blind Shaman (10-2-1)
WELTERWEIGHT: Kim II Sung (13-7) vs Manolito Damhius (11-4)

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT: Terrell Grant (17-7) vs Dante Boudain (10-3)
Terrell “Too Tall” Grant is very aptly named. Grant is a massive heavyweight standing almost 6 foot 8. Grant uses his long limbs very well with a varied submission game that has resulted in 14 of his 17 wins coming by way of submission. Grant is a former champion at 265 pounds in LEGACY!. His chin has been hit a lot in the last 4 fights, but he’s still in the prime of his career now. Dante Boudain won his debut fight against Hennan Hoyce with a barrage of punches in the 2nd round. Boudain is a dominant Muay Thai type striker who registered 4 straight wins by head kick early in his career and he has 8 of his 10 wins by TKO in total. It’ll be critical for the former CTS champion to keep this fight standing and preferably in the clinch to maximize his chances of leaving with a win. If this fight hits the ground, Grant will have a huge edge and should be able to finish the fight.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Magnus Mamba (41-11) vs Vinny Hopkins (16-6)
Former Death Squad and Evolution title contender Magnus Mamba is looking to avenge is debut loss in the promotion against Vinny Hopkins in this fight. Mamba has fought top contention his entire career in the best promotions, but has mostly come up short. At 42 years of age, the window for Mamba making another run at a title is probably over, but he’s still a very dangerous fighter. He has a whopping 34 of his 41 wins by TKO and is a very game wrestler as well. Mamba’s submission defense has cost him a few times in his career, but Vinny Hopkins isn’t much of a submission threat. Hopkins is making his debut in the promotion and reeled off 4 straight wins in the very solid SP-ICON organization. Both of these guys should be happy to stand and bang in this one, which should lead to a finish. We’ll get to see exactly how much Magnus Mamba has left in the tank against a guy in his prime like Vinny Hopkins.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Ed Gennero (17-8) vs Malik Al-Khaldi (11-1)
How good is this card? We have a trilogy on our hands and it didn’t even make the co-main even on this card. Malik Al-Khaldi knocked out Ed Gennero in back-to-back fights a few years ago for the title at 185 pounds in the LFC promotion. Since then, Ed Gennero has went 3-1 in LEGACY! and his only loss was a 2nd round TKO against champion Cid Strife. Interestingly enough, Al-Khaldi made his debut at 170 pounds, but will be going back up to 185 pounds for this trilogy fight with Gennero. In the first fight, Gennero was clearly beaten in the first 2 rounds and was hit with a barrage of punches at the start of the third round that would force the stoppage. He desperately tried to get the fight into the clinch, but was largely unsuccessful. In the rematch, a hook-uppercut combo from Gennero cut Malik in the first minute of the fight, but Gennero was rocked by an uppercut and eventually knocked out cold by a straight right hand before the first round buzzer expired. It’ll be interesting to see what Gennero can do different in this third fight.

WELTERWEIGHT: Alfred Hitscock (13-5) vs Chiku Maneno (14-5)
Alfred Hitscock didn’t arrive in this promotion with ton of hype or fanfare, but after 6 six straight wins, 5 by finish, Hitscock has established himself as a contender at 170 pounds. The only negative is the lack of competition Hitscock has faced in those six fights. He’ll get by far his toughest challenge to date in former title contender Chiku Maneno. Maneno is 2-1 in the promotion and owns a non-title win over the current champion at 170 pounds, Arlington Beech. Maneno is very dangerous with his boxing and has a ton of power in his hands. Stylistically, Hitscock is a very similar fighter, so we should see strength on strength on the feet in this matchup. This is a massive opportunity for Alfred Hitscock to prove that he’s a legitimate title contender in the division with a win over a guy many believe to be his superior. Chiku Maneno has strung together a couple wins and could be closing in on a third fight with champion Arlington Beech.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Declan Sweeney (35-16) vs Scott Norton (25-12)
In our main event, “Flash” Scott Norton takes aim at champion Declan Sweeney in a Super Heavyweight title fight. Norton could be the best fighter in the world at 265 plus pounds and is getting his title shot in his debut fight. Scott Norton fights are always wars, as he has 24 of his wins by TKO and 9 of his 12 losses he’s been knocked out in. Champion Declan Sweeney won’t shy away from that type of fight though. Sweeney has 30+ knockouts on his resume and has also been KO’d 10 times in his career. Sweeney is riding a three fight winning streak, including a third round TKO win over John Bunting to win the title in his last fight. Sweeney is currently outside the top 10 rankings at this weight class in the world, but a win over a top 5 guy like Norton would put him easily in the top 10 and cement him as a force in the promotion. It isn’t a stretch to say that the winner will have to finish this fight. This should take place inside a phone booth and whoever lands the first big shot should take this fight and the title home.

LEGACY! 43 - Available on PPV

01.29.16

Belle Centre - Montreal

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 43

PRELIMS

LIGHTWEIGHT: Henrique Ramos (11-8) vs Miguel Escrima (8-5)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Diagoro Yabaisama (7-1) vs Man of the Dingos (6-3)
MIDDLEWEIGHT: Nicolas Arenas (11-8) vs Doug Pattersson (11-9)
MIDDLEWEIGHT: Steven Rutherford (13-0-1) vs John Massey (6-1)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Matt Smith (11-5) vs Arthas Menethil (13-3)

MAIN CARD

LIGHTWEIGHT: Chad Murray (9-4) vs Dominic Fortune (8-2)

Dominic Fortune started out in this promotion at the bottom of the totem pole with less than 5 career fights under his belt. Six fights later, Fortune is still here and 5-1 in his current stint. His lone loss was a submission loss to Antonio Lobo. He’s been very impressive in his 5 wins, but none have anywhere near the pedigree that Lobo has. He’ll take a big step up in this fight against contender Chad Murray. Murray is a very talent boxer who has 3 straight wins against very tough competition, including the last against the aforementioned Antonio Lobo. Chad Murray probably isn’t far away from a title shot at 155 pounds and a win over a very hot fighter in Fortune could be the trick that does it. This fight will come down to how well Fortune can handle Murray on the feet. He’ll be at a certain advantage in the boxing, but that may be the only area that an advantage is enjoyed in any category by either fighter.

BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Edward Brown (12-0-1) vs Vincent Oketch (16-7)

Undefeated in his MMA career, champion Edward Brown is getting a stiff test in Vincent Oketch, a very talented all-around fighter who can finish you in many ways. Brown is currently one of the top fighters at 135 pounds in any promotion worldwide. Oketch’s MMA record may only read 16-7, but he’s won his last 2 fights and has the skillset to compete in the shark tank that is the 135 pound division. For Oketch, it’ll be all about using all of his gifts together if he wants to compete in this fight. This title shot is probably a surprise to a lot of people. At just 3-3 in the Legacy promotion, Oketch may not deserve a title shot, but opportunity has come knocking. This fight should be very technical in nature due to how well both fighters manage to avoid being finished. It has been 7 fights since Brown has managed to finish an opponent, but at the peak of 135 pounds, finishes certainly aren’t commonplace.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Liam McGuiness (20-10-1) vs Edinger Nucleus (15-4-1)

Liam McGuiness is back once again to defend his title against Edinger Nucleus. An immediate rematch was the inevitable outcome after an amazing back and forth fight that ended in a draw. Nucleus was able to land 5 takedowns in the fight and constantly worked for a submission to become champion. He was able to efficiently use his kicks (both low and high) to keep McGuiness off balance enough to shoot takedowns. McGuiness seemed most comfortable standing and trading with his hands for sure. Both guys were cut in the last fight and Nucleus was even dropped to the canvas by a huge combination in the 5th round. Some have wondered if McGuiness had rushed in with Nucleus on the mat, if this fight would have been stopped right then and there. Fortunately for Nucleus that didn’t happen and this fight went the distance and became a Fight of the Year candidate. One would expect the rematch to be another hotly contested fight.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Humphrey Baker (14-5) vs Grigol Pandahammer (12-2)

In our co-main event, Grigol Pandahammer is a very well-known kickboxer who still ranks in the top 15 at 205 pounds in the sport. After a brief break from MMA, Pandahammer is back and debuting in Legacy after capturing both the Tradition and Coyotile titles in his short career. He’s currently riding a 7 fight winning streak in professional MMA, but he’ll be facing another talented striker in this fight. Humphrey Baker has 13 of his 14 career wins by TKO, including a 2nd round KO win over former champion Johny Clattenburg. In nearly 35 combined career fights, these massive men and impressive strikers have managed to only reach the judges’ scorecards in 3 fights. At any moment in this fight, it can be ended quickly and violently. Baker has a couple of jaw dropping KO’s by Superman punch and Pandahammer’s kickboxing background speaks for itself. One would have to think the winner of this fight will be the frontrunner to win Knockout of the Night.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Tim Smith (16-5) vs Remi Highjack (13-3)

In our main event, we have a couple fighters who are legitimate top 15 guys in the entire world at 205 pounds. Remi Highjack is the current champion in the Troid promotion and is riding a 4 fight winning streak, while Tim Smith is on his own winning streak of 6 fights and the last 2 have been in the Legacy promotion. Highjack will make his debut in the promotion with a lot of hype and fanfare. He’s very well known as a finisher and terrific striker on the feet. If Smith wants to beat the Troid champ in this fight, he’ll have to find a way to keep him in check in the striking. The best defense can be a good offense though and that is what Smith brings to the table. His last 3 and 8 of his last 10 fights have all been settled by TKO. If there’s still dry spots on the mat, these two could very well fill it with blood. This should be an all-out war that ends in one guy unconscious on the ground. A win for either man could send them inside the top 10 in the division worldwide.

I think Remi's ready to finally hit the top 10 mark. I'm excited, he also gets another win of Duphus if I win and this time he's No. 1 in the game.

.Looks like Edible Nuclear didn't receive enough punishment and would like to come back for more.

Last time we fought, you got taken to hospital and received a gift in the "draw." This time I think we should send the judges home as I will make a statement by putting you to sleep this time.

I have had my Lucky Liam's Charms (Now available at Sully's Bar & Grill on The Island) and i will get myself a good sleep before taking my belt home.

Shits about to go down. I beat Duphus before with Remi but he wasn't number 1 then. I beat Dino and Bowser so far while they were No. 1, hope I can dethrone another king.

LEGACY! 45 - Available on PPV

02.05.16

Belle Centre - Montreal

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 45

PRELIMS

LIGHTWEIGHT: Darren Lamb (6-3) vs Henrique Ramos (11-9)

WELTERWEIGHT: Terry Akki (10-9) vs John Brown (7-10)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Yong Wright (13-7-1) vs Grey Worm (10-7-1)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Duncan Jon (19-14) vs Jared Nicholson (6-4)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Police Officer (12-8) vs Joao De Santo Cristo (3-1)

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT: Rodney Garcia (13-4) vs Hennan Hoyce (6-1)
In the opening bout on our main card, formerly unbeaten Hennan Hoyce gets a shot at the struggling Rodney Garcia. Garcia has lost his last 3 fights, including both of his Legacy fights. He’s the former 265 pound champion in the LFC promotion, but has had a very difficult time with the increased competition in Legacy. Hennan Hoyce was a perfect 6-0, all TKO finishes, coming into his last fight against Dante Boudain. A jab-cross combo from Boudain knocked Hoyce out cold early in the 2nd round to taste defeat for the very first time in his pro career. Hoyce is a brawling type of fighter so he matches up very uniquely with a grappler like Garcia. Garcia has double digit submission wins on his resume with the majority coming by triangle or arm bar. It’ll be important in this fight for Hoyce to keep the fight standing because if not, he’ll have to fight with his head on a swivel to prevent Garcia from snatching a limb and scoring an 11th submission victory.

WELTERWEIGHT: George Pedro (14-6-1) vs Jericho Hill (9-3)
Jericho Hill has been very impressive in his stint in Legacy so far. At 4-1, Hill has proven himself to be a legitimate threat in the welterweight division. His lone loss was a surprising third round TKO loss to Kevin Anderson. Outside of that hiccup, Hill has won his other 4 fights by TKO, including 3 of them in the first round. He’ll get a big test in this fight against former Imperial title challenger George Pedro. Pedro fought Chief Tappenahomma to a draw for the Imperial title in the very last title fight before Imperial was disbanded. Both of these fighters tend to get themselves into brawls, so it shouldn’t come as a shock to see this fight not make it to the judges. Hill is riding a 2 fight winning streak, but neither of those two are the caliber of fighter of George Pedro. On the other hand, Pedro’s competition inside Legacy hasn’t been akin to Jericho Hill. Both guys are getting a shot at a real contender in this fight.

HEAVYWEIGHT: Constantine Kermit (11-3) vs Culver Crimson (11-2)
Former Legacy 265 pound champion Culver Crimson is gunning for a trilogy fight with current champion Nick Fjera. Fjera has defeated him twice for the title and is the only man to ever defeat Crimson in his career. Constantine Kermit is on a 5 fight winning streak in the promotion and has finished 4 of those 5 by knockout. Way back at Legacy 1, these two tangled and Crimson came out on top with a 2nd round TKO win over Kermit. The first round was a back and forth affair, but a left hook from Crimson dropped Kermit in the 2nd round and he was unable to stay in the fight after some vicious ground and pound. These two were very evenly matched in that fight and with the amount of confidence Kermit has been fighting with lately, this fight is a real coin flip. This would be a huge win for Crimson and could get very well get him another title shot after rebounding last fight with a win over Eeazy E.

BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Vincent Oketch (17-7) vs Da Skrumbo (20-5)
In the NEX promotion, Vincent Oketch was one of the most dominant champions that ever fought. After winning the 135 pound title in his last fight against Edward Brown by a landslide margin, Oketch is stepping up to the plate once again to fight Da Skrumbo, who is 3-0 in the promotion. Oketch is a very well balanced dynamic fighter and it isn’t hard to tell looking at his past performances. He has 5 wins by knockout and 6 wins each by submission and decision. He’s very adept at making his opponent uncomfortable and one would think his plan in this fight is to grind Da Skrumbo out and not let him use his striking prowess to finish the fight. With 19 wins by knockout in 25 fights, it’s very obvious that Skrumbo throws with bad intentions. His boxing is some of the very best in the division and certainly the most powerful. I would look for Vincent Oketch to try and cut down his power and speed with the boxing with leg and body kicks and try to wear him down on the mat.

WELTERWEIGHT: Kelvin Parker (14-4) vs Chiku Maneno (15-5)
In the main event of the night, we have former 170 pound champion Kelvin Parker going up against Chiku Maneno. Parker is on a 4 winning streak since losing his title to Arlington Beech. At 8-1 inside the promotion, Parker has proven himself to be the elite of the elite at 170 pounds in Legacy. Parker is gunning for a rematch with Beech who has successfully defended his title 3 straight times since taking it from Parker. Kelvin Parker isn’t the only guy who wants another shot at Beech though. Chiku Maneno has already fought Beech twice and actually won one of the fights. At the inaugural Legacy vs Imperial event, Maneno finished Beech in the 3rd round with a flurry of punches. In their next fight, the title was on the line, but Beech reversed the tables and finished Maneno in the 3rd round with ground and pound. Since that fight, Maneno is on a 3 fight winning streak and dying for another shot at the title. This fight is a quasi-number one contenders fight and should be a barnburner.

LEGACY! 46

PRELIMS

BANTAMWEIGHT: Mack Daddy (9-10) vs Balfour Darrow (3-3)
WELTERWEIGHT: Eddie Melo (10-9-1) vs Nino Niederreiter (3-1)
MIDDLEWEIGHT: Pekka Kindmark (11-5) vs Grado Itsyersel (4-2)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Hardijan Matic (11-4) vs Bee Jay (11-5)
WELTERWEIGHT: Jack Jone (11-3) vs Obi Canuel (6-1)

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT: Ken Halo (15-6) vs Robbie Luatua (11-7)
Former LFC Heavyweight champion Ken Halo has gotten off to a rough start in Legacy so far. Halo challenged for the title in his first fight against Nick Fjera and was finished late in the 3rd round by TKO. In his last fight, title contender Constantine Kermit finished him very late in the 2nd round with a devastating punch that left Halo unconscious. Halo is a relatively small heavyweight at less than 225 pounds at weigh-ins. He packs a lot of power in his punches, but he’s been seemingly overmatched so far in the promotion. He’ll get a little bit of a break in this fight after fighting two elite guys. Robbie Luatua is no pushover though. Luatua is a powerful striker in his own right and is certainly capable of handing Halo his third straight loss. Both fighters are well known for their striking and have nonexistent offensive wrestling, so it shouldn’t come as a shock to see this fight turning into a brawl on the feet.

MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Rupert Blasts (9-0) vs Malik Al-Khaldi (12-1)
Rupert Blasts has come from nowhere to become one of the most feared middleweights in mixed martial arts. Blasts fought 6 times in a regional promotion and finished all of them by TKO before arriving in Legacy. After an impressive 2nd round TKO of Artem Irhin and an easy decision win over Kabal Labak, he got his first title shot just 8 fights into his pro career. After a very tight first couple of rounds, Blasts turned it on down the stretch and picked up the unanimous decision win over Cid Strife. Blasts used body kicks and punches in volume to zap the energy from Strife in that fight. He faces another elite striker in Malik Al-Khaldi in his first title defense. Al-Khaldi is a very dangerous fighter who has saw only 2 of his 13 fights go to decision and is a former LFC champion at 185 pounds before moving on. Rupert Blasts has been on an absolute tear lately though, so he has a very tall task in front of him if he plans on leaving with the title after this fight.

BANTAMWEIGHT: William Blake (14-4-1) vs Jong Un Kim (17-3-1)
After an epic draw in their last fight, William Blake and Jong Un Kim will go to battle once again against each other. Jong Un Kim has 9 straight successful title defenses of the now defunct Imperial 135 pound title on his resume. A couple fights ago, he came very close to dethroning champion Edward Brown, ultimately losing by split decision. Both guys are extremely well versed BJJ practitioners and Blake has 10 of his 14 wins by submission. In the first fight, Blake was the one with the 2 takedowns compared to none for Kim. What Kim did do in that fight was brutalize the lead leg of Blake’s with constant leg kicks that weren’t checked. One would think Blake will try to shore up being able to check those kicks this time around. Jong Un Kim has to think he has the edge in this fight if it stays standing after the last meeting, but Blake is an elite wrestler as well to go with his great Jiu-Jitsu. If this fight is much like the last meeting, it should be another instant classic.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Mookie Blaylock (30-11) vs Declan Sweeney (36-17)
In his last fight, Declan Sweeney was dethroned by upstart Phillip Dyson after an absolutely dominant performance from Dyson. Dyson won all 5 rounds on one judge’s scorecard and dominated the fight. Sweeney suffered his first loss in the Legacy promotion after winning the title in his second fight in the organization and winning a title defense against Scott Norton. At 37 years old, there is a lot of talk surrounding whether or not Sweeney is rapidly declining in skill level with age. He’ll get a tough test against former title contender Mookie Blaylock. Blaylock is 3-1 in the promotion and his only loss was against then champion John Bunting. Sweeney isn’t getting any younger and should obviously start declining, but can he make another run at the title in Legacy before he retires? If he does, he has to avoid getting caught with one of the bombs Blaylock will certainly be throwing.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Liam Donnelly (15-4) vs Arlington Beech (18-3-1)
In our main event, we have a super fight! Arlington Beech is the dominant champion in Legacy at 170 pounds and has 3 straight successful title defenses. Beech is a legitimate top 10 170 pounder in the world. He’ll face off against the 6-0 in Legacy, Liam Donnelly. Donnelly is the champion at 155 pounds and is also a legitimate top 10 fighter in the world in his division. This is one of the most anticipated fights in Legacy history and it’ll be interesting to see if Donnelly will be able to stand with the much bigger Arlington Beech. Beech is coming down to 155 pounds for this fight which should give Donnelly a big edge since Beech hasn’t fought at this weight since his debut in Legacy over a year ago. Donnelly is the better-rounded fighter and could pose some problems for Beech if this fight hits the ground. It should be noted that Donnelly also debuted at 170 pounds in Legacy, so he isn’t a small lightweight by any means. No matter what happens in this fight, the fans should get a treat seeing this dream matchup.

LEGACY! 47

PRELIMS

HEAVYWEIGHT: Oleksandr Usyk (14-5) vs Sven Kristian Nielsen (13-6)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Artim Irhin (7-5) vs Stan Judea (4-2)
HEAVYWEIGHT: Obelix De Gaul (11-3) vs Vincenzo Vitalli (9-3)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Johny Clattenburg (11-7) vs Brian Pereira (10-8-1)
HEAVYWEIGHT: Bull Hurley (10-6) vs Farrokh Bulsara (8-6)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Guido Gloom (8-3) vs Ivan Kuznetsov (6-5)

MAIN CARD

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Ed Gennero (17-9) vs Friedrich Von Kuschelbar (13-5)
Newly signed Friedrich Von Kuschelbar will make his Legacy debut on the main card. Von Kuschelbar is on a 3 fight winning streak and brings a ton of momentum, as well as power with him to this fight. With 10 career KO wins in his young career, he’s proven to be a handful on the feet. He faces the former 2 time LFC champion Ed Gennero in this fight. Gennero challenged Cid Strife for the 185 pound championship in Legacy a few fights ago, so he will certainly test the young upstart’s will in this one. In 26 career fights, Gennero has been knocked out in 8 of those fights. This is generally not a good sign when you face off against a proven power striker like Kuschelbar, but Gennero is still just 26 years old and shouldn’t have to worry about his chin disintegrating just yet. This fight should certainly take place on the feet and Gennero is a very technically sound fighter, as well as being a solid finisher.

WELTERWEIGHT: Better Dead (17-13) vs Chiku Maneno (15-6)
Two former title challengers at 170 pounds in the promotion will do battle in this main card fight. In their first fight a year ago, Chiku Maneno got the best of Better Dead. Midway through the very first round, Maneno connected with a devastating punch that left Dead unconscious before he hit the mat. Even after such a devastating knockout, I would expect Dead to come forward constantly again and turn this fight into a firefight. All of his 17 career wins have come by knockout and he certainly has the potential to turn Maneno’s lights off and repay him from the last fight in this one. Both of these guys lost to former champion Kelvin Parker in their last fight, so it’ll be critical for each guy to pick up a solid rebound win. The fighters are very similar in size, so neither man will enjoy much of a reach or strength advantage. I certainly wouldn’t put money on this fight lasting any longer than the first fight, but I wouldn’t put any money on it being any less entertaining either.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Liam McGuiness (21-10-1) vs Ravi Shankoli (20-4)
After a pair of razor thin decision fights against Edinger Nucleus, Liam McGuiness is still the champion, but he certainly didn’t prove himself head and shoulders above the challenger. The first fight was scored as a draw and in the rematch, McGuiness prevailed by a majority decision. Ravi Shankoli is on a 4 fight winning streak that began with a unanimous decision win over you guessed it, Edinger Nucleus. Shankoli certainly has a lot of confidence coming into this crucial title fight and he was a former champion in the now defunct but then solid NEX promotion. It’ll be interesting to see if Shankoli decides to follow the Nucleus blueprint and shoot for takedowns in this fight because that typically isn’t his style but Nucleus was able to secure 5 takedowns in the first fight with McGuiness. I would expect this fight to take place on the feet and for Shankoli to press the champion and see where he stands with the elite 205 pound strikers in the world.

HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Nick Fjera (14-2-1) vs Ji Lu (17-5)
After a very quick TKO win by way of a cut, Nick Fjera will put his title on the line again against Ji Lu. In their last bout, Lu was cut by some vicious ground and pound from Fjera in the first minute of the first round. Fjera will be very hard pressed to repeat that performance against the former Rezdog and Imperial champion at 265 pounds. If he’s to have any chance in this fight, Lu will have to be able to defend the takedowns because Fjera is arguably the best heavyweight in the world at reigning down ground and pound. Fjera will give up a substantial reach advantage to Lu, so Lu will obviously try to keep this fight at a distance on the feet. It was a very interesting decision to give Ji Lu another title shot and it’ll be very important for Lu to put up a solid performance in this fight. If not, it may be a very long time before Lu sees another title shot. If Fjera is unable to land the takedown, look for him to be on the receiving end of the long jab of Ji Lu’s. This should be a very exciting main event!

LEGACY! 48

PRELIMS

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Agustin Trujillo (8-7-1) vs Francisco dAnconia (7-7-1)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Winston Churchill (11-8) vs Erick Clap (4-2)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Temudjin Khaan (11-6) vs Ryzen Dall (7-2)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Aleksandro De Souza (12-2) vs Project Falcon (8-1)
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Daniel Campos (23-11) vs Adelbert Gainsborough (15-13)

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT: Dante Boudain (10-3-1) vs Terrell Grant (17-7-1)
After a very entertaining back and forth contest in their last fight, Dante Boudain and Terrell Grant are back again in a rematch of their Legacy 42 fight that ended in a draw. Dante Boudain entered that fight on a 6 fight winning streak and seemed primed to be on the fast track to a title shot at 265 pounds in the promotion. Former champion Terrell Grant knows what it takes to make it to the top of the mountain here and made life very difficult for Boudain in the first fight. Grant really took control of the fight in the third round after a couple of very tight rounds to start the fight. A takedown mid-way through the third round, resulted in Grant being able to stay in dominant position on top and threaten with submissions after also getting the better of Boudain on the feet at the start of the round. In the rematch, I would expect more of the same and for Dante Boudain to be able to not gas in the third round in this fight like he seemed to last fight.

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Antonio Lobo (19-2) vs Vaas Haas (8-2)
When will Vaas Haas get his first title shot in Legacy? Haas has sandwiched 8 wins in the promotion around a submission loss to Liam McGuiness, the current champion, a couple years ago. He could be getting one of the biggest tests in his career in this fight against former Coyotile champion Antonio Lobo. Lobo was 16-1 in that promotion, including going 8-1 in title fights. Lobo has been around the block with very good fighters and stands at 19-2 with only one of those wins coming by decision. For a 185 pounder, he is an absolute finishing machine. Lobo’s jiu-jitsu is the gold standard for MMA fighters and is still rounding the rest of his game out. If Haas is to have a shot at winning this fight, he’ll need to keep it standing and avoid tussling on the ground with a legend like Lobo. The good news for Lobo is if he can keep this standing, he has a lot of advantages because he’s a tremendously well rounded fighter who doesn’t have to finish you to win fights.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Shogan Aye (19-7) vs Tim Smith (16-6)
Shogan Aye will make his Legacy debut in the middle of the main card here. Aye is a very impressive, well rounded fighter who has proven he’s a finisher at the top level of the sport. With 16 finishes and only 3 decision wins to his name, Aye likes to save the judges time and energy. Tim Smith is more of a sprawl and brawl boxer who prefers to keep the fight on the feet. The matchup to watch in this fight is the ability of the jiu-jitsu black belt Aye, to get the elite wrestler, Tim Smith to the ground. If he isn’t successful, this fight could be a barn burner. Shogan’s chin has been very strong thus far in his career, as he’s only been knocked out once. On the other side, Smith has been finished by KO in all 6 of his losses. This will be Smith’s 4th fight inside the promotion and after suffering a tough head kick loss to Remi Highjack in his last fight, he needs to pick up a win to keep from losing some of the shine he had when arriving from DSC as a former champion.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Niko Alzate (18-10) vs The Chin (16-6)
The Chin is a traveling man as they like to say. He’s fought his last 4 fights in different promotions, including an amazing head kick win over Oberlix De Gaul in the first round in his Legacy debut. The Chin is back again and he’ll face the debuting Niko Alzate. Alzate is a former 265 pound champion of the Insanity promotion, but wasn’t able to string together any wins at his last stop in the Death Squad promotion. Chin is one of the best kickboxers in the world at 265 pounds and has all 16 of his wins by TKO. Funny enough, all of his 6 losses have come by TKO as well. Alzate needs to avoid getting himself into a firefight here and use his entire arsenal to keep Chin guessing. Alzate has 5 wins by submission and is certainly the better offensive wrestler, but Chin’s talent on the ground exists to keep the fight standing and protect himself from being submitted. Alzate may be able to steal points on the ground, but The Chin should be able to get back to his feet without much damage.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Declan Sweeney (37-17) vs Rex Tyrannosaurus (24-9)
In our main event, we have two monsters who could be in title fights right now if it wasn’t for current champion Phillip Dyson. Dyson spoiled Rex Tyrannosaurus’s debut in Legacy and 10 fight winning streak at Legacy 40. Rex had made 4 successful title defenses of his 265 pound belt in the Destiny promotion before moving up to this promotion. Declan Sweeney was the reigning 265+ pound champion in Legacy and making his second title defense before being defeated by Dyson a couple fights ago. He rebounded nicely with a third round TKO win over Mookie Blaylock, but the fire still burns inside Sweeney to fight for the title he considers his again. Both guys are elite strikers and Rex actually began his career as a pro kickboxer before setting his sights on MMA. He’ll face a very different beast in this fight though. Declan Sweeney has the power to knock you out with just about everything he throws.

Greetings to all Legacy! Fighters and their managers and also to all their fans across the Global Community. I am here to drop some very big news on the future of this great Fight Organization. For those that know me fairly well you will be aware of my past endeavors in the Fight promoting game, but for those that are not as well versed Legacy is now the 3rd Fight company I have built into a top power and enjoyed modest success at the top end of the rankings. Prior to Legacy! I built AXF/BDU/The Syndicate into a top 5 Fight Organization and then followed that up by taking on the honor of rebuilding Synchronicity into a true powerhouse achieving the loftiest of goals hitting the #1 spot on many occasions. My proudest achievement when gauging my success with Legacy is the 2015 Best New Org award I earned, but that would not have been possible without all of you!

However with such success comes great sacrafice, as the focus required to run a top company takes away from the time required to enjoy personal success as a manager and in guiding ones own stable of fighters. Couple that with what many have encountered before known simply as "Org Burnout" the desire to continue running such a company single handidly becomes a real drag at times. Recently I must admit I have been overcome by these very feelings which has lead me to take stock of both my own personal desires and most importantly the desire to ensure Legacy does not suffer due to these feelings.

With all this in mind roughly one month ago I worked out a verbal agreement to sell Legacy! to a manager I know very well and have a great deal of trust in because my main focus has always been to ensure Legacy does not fade away and instead continues to thrive and climb up the rankings. Sean McDonnel will officially take over ownership following next weeks Legacy! 50 event and even though I am giving up ownership, I will remain on staff to assist where required and to help with the transition. I will take a short break from day to day operations but will be there in the event Shortfuse_nWo has any needs and then in time the chances are very high I will return to help in an active role should Sean want my help. This is a move I am excited to see take place and I hope you will all give Fuse the same efforts and results I have enjoyed since beginning this journey less then one year ago! As I have stated even though the name of company owner will be changing, I will still be available if anything of me is needed. Shortfuse is just as enthused with this oportunity and will continue what I have started. Please do not look on this negatively, Legacy will continue to evolve and climb higher in the rankings then we have already accomplished.

I look forward to any feedback you may offer but most importantly I wish to thank you all and wish you nothing but great success in your Legacy futures!! I may be taking a brief step aside but I will not be far and I look forward to seeing you all continue to be a force in this great game!

Once again thank you all I could not have achieved what I have thus far without all of you,

Louie

Welcome to a new segment we will be looking at doing once in a while here with Legacy called "State Your Legacy!" , I am your host Johnny Under and today we are sitting down with newly crowned Legacy Light Heavyweight Champion

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/33/33b6.jpg
Ravi "The Trancendental Dentist" Shankoli (246529)

Under: February 12th 2016 was a huge night for you, how did it feel to have won the Legacy LHW Title?
Shankoli: Thanks for taking the time out of your phyiscal reality, to allow me to enlighten you as to what it now feels like to be the champ. I have felt the taste of this experience, and now I am making a point to embrace every moment of this. I have been a champion before, but I was younger then, and not as aware of what it takes to be a champion, and a physical being in this earthly shell. It is nice to be Champion again though, and I plan to keep things this way as long as I am able, and as long as the Creator is willing to provide me this path.
Under: You made quick work of the previous champ, is that how you expected it to play out?
Shankoli: I knew that the former champ was on a "Lucky" run, but his luck ran out when he met me. Call it Karma, call it what you will. But I knew his heart was not strong enough, and neither was his chin. It would have only been a matter of time before he quit. I admire what he did for Legacy, he was a good champion, but his time is over. I had a very good camp coming into the Brody fight, and this fight was offered and I knew right away that it was a gift from the Creator. So I took the opportunity. Carpe Diem as they say. The Dentist was needed, and I am always happy to provide my service. So McGuiness lost a few teeth... But I didnt expect him to lose so many teeth so early in the first round...

Under: Now that you are champion do you feel this will change you?

Shankoli: I am a part of the ever changing yet unchangable. I am always changing with nature, but I will not allow my ego to get the front row seat. I have advanced my meditation practice, and my daily yoga practice has allowed me to trandscend this body, I know who I AM!
Under: You have a tough test in your first defence just one week following your title victory this coming weekend, what are your thoughts on this matchup?
Shankoli: Atila is tough, I know what he wants to do... He knows my power is to great for him, and my reach is going to be trouble for him. He will surely look to either push the pace with his weak chin exposed, or play pussy foot and run while looking for a counter takedown. Either way I have a plan which will allow me to take him out. "hailstorm" your in for a good fight, I wish you the best of intentions in your personal life, as well as your fighting career, but I know you would be wise to change weight classes or Organizations if you want to keep your dreams from becoming your next nightmare.
Under: How did you react when you heard the news regarding Legacy ownership?
Shankoli: I have the greatest of faith in the skills of Louie DePalma, and so I trust him and his mission in creating a true legacy for Legacy. Whatever he says is gold to me, I am here to put on a show and get him paid! :)

Under: You lost in your debut @ Legacy 6 versus Patrick Brody and have since been on an unstoppable roll, did you figure something out in that loss?
Shankoli: Brody is the king of pillow fisted pussy footing. He showed me what a real point fighter is like, and I made sure to see my weakeness. I was counting on my power and not my skills and physical abilitys. I spent the last six months working on my ability to be in the moment, breathe and flow.

Under: How did it feel to avenge your loss to Patrick Brody, 2 fighters who seem to have went in opposite directions since that initial meeting?

Shankoli: Brody was the real deal, he knew how to get his hand raised. I feel bad for him to have no hope for his career at this point, I feel he would be better off changing divisions or quitting all together. His heart is fragile and weak, his chin on the other hand is tough as nails. But eventually brain cells give up after you get him with these fists. I only hit his face 23 times in that fight, but each one that hit I could see him change. The lights were leaving his eyes. Mark my words he will not make it much longer in this sport unless he makes some big changes. Find the light brother...
Well folks that's all the time we have for you on this episode, we hope to bring you another down the road! Thank you Ravi for your time and best of luck this weekend defending your title!! Johnny Under signing out!

Event Preview prepared by: Taylor Powell (107803)

LEGACY! 49

PRELIMS

LIGHTWEIGHT: Toktogulovich Bakiyev (12-10) vs Pate Perhana (10-4)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Johny Persecutioned (11-10) vs Wayne Conner (8-6)
LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Pablo Escobar (14-5) vs Daniel Williams (7-1)
WELTERWEIGHT: Erik Kramer (10-5) vs Carney Duffy (11-8)
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Vince Dixon (40-33) vs Sandor Clegane (14-8)

MAIN CARD

BANTAMWEIGHT: Geralt of Rivia (13-5) vs Barack Obama (9-4)
In the opening bout on our main card, we have two fighters who came to Legacy with a ton of promise, but haven’t been able deliver on it as of yet. Geralt of Rivia had an 8 fight winning streak in the Troid organization going, but is a lackluster 1-2 in Legacy since debuting. Barack Obama was on a 5 fight winning streak in the HMFL promotion, but is just 4-3 in his 7 fights in Legacy. Geralt of Rivia is more of a muay thai clinch style fighter while Obama is a very skilled boxer with some amazing jiu jitsu. In 4 of his 5 losses, Rivia has been submitted so he’ll have to be very careful if Obama is able to pull him on the ground in this fight. All 13 of Rivia’s wins have come by knockout and he is most dangerous in tight with his dirty boxing. Barack Obama will want this fight to take place at distance and on the mat, nothing in between. If he’s able to stick to that game plan, he should be able to pick up a win against the struggling Rivia.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Hiroshimo Sakamoto (11-5-1) vs Booker McQuade (39-9)
One of the most dominant fighters in MMA history, Booker McQuade was expected to come to Legacy and dominate right away. Arriving with a 17 fight winning streak in the CEFC promotion with 15 of those wins being in title fights, fans expected McQuade to quickly prove himself as the top 155 pounder in Legacy as well. That has not been the case so far as he has been defeated by Gonna Spanked at 170 pounds in his debut and by Shogun Iron Tyson in his last fight back at 155 pounds. McQuade needs to right the ship immediately and he has a good shot at that against Hiroshimo Sakamoto. Sakamoto is 4-1 in his last 5 fights and has only been defeated by current champion Arlington Beech. Sakamoto is an elite wrestler with some very good striking to go with it. He’ll definitely try to use that wrestling to keep Booker McQuade from finding his range in this fight. McQuade is one of the better strikers at 155 pounds in the world and has a very diverse kickboxing attack.

MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Malik Al-Khaldi (13-1) vs Vaas Haas (9-2)
Vaas Haas has been a staple of Legacy at 185 pounds since the promotion opened its doors. He’ll finally get his title shot in this fight after going 9-1 with his only loss coming to former 205 pound champion Liam McGuiness. Most would say the title shot is well overdue for Haas. Malik Al-Khaldi won the title in his last fight against Rupert Blasts, which was only his third fight in the promotion. Haas has had a lot to say about that leading up to this fight. It’s hard to blame the guy for feeling looked over, but he’ll have a huge shot to prove the naysayers wrong by defeating Al-Khaldi and becoming champion for the first time in his pro career. He’ll have to avoid the devastating power and skill that Al-Khaldi possesses on the feet, but Haas is often outgunned in the power department. He’s just one of those guys that grits and grinds his way to wins when it doesn’t look possible. I wouldn’t expect the trash talk from these guys to die down until they both hit the cage in this career defining title match.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Liam McGuiness (21-11-1) vs Grigol Poundhammer (13-2)
After holding the 205 pound gold basically since arriving in Legacy, Liam McGuiness find himself in an awkward position after his title loss to Ravi Shankoli in his last fight. He gets a quick chance at proving himself though against one of the top 205 pounders in the world, Grigol Poundhammer. Poundhammer ranks in the 10 at this weight class in kickboxing in the world, so it should come as no surprise what Poundhammer likes to do inside the cage. Poundhammer is still raw in terms of MMA ability, but he’s proven himself to be an elite fighter already in his short career. McGuiness is 5 years his elder, but he also gives up a few inches of reach to the younger Poundhammer. It’ll be critical for McGuiness to be mentally into this fight since it’s his first non-title fight in quite a while and he’s facing a dangerous kickboxer like Grigol Poundhammer. If Liam McGuiness can figure out the reach disadvantage, he should be able to thwart the young upstart’s momentum.

WELTERWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Arlington Beech (19-3-1) vs Kelvin Parker (15-4)
At 9-1 in the Legacy promotion since joining years back, Kelvin Parker has done almost everything you can do, including win and defend a title. In his second title defense nearly 2 years ago, he was stopped in the second round by Arlington Beech. Since that fight, Beech has 3 successful title defense under his belt and looks very much like the class of 170 pounds in Legacy. Parker has reeled off 5 straight wins to put himself back into title contention, with three of them coming by submission. He brings a more well-rounded game into this fight with Beech than he did a couple years ago. Beech will certainly be wary of the submission if this fight spends any amount of time on the ground. Kelvin Parker has spoken at length about how his world changed in an instant after being defeated by Beech in the first fight. It hasn’t been a short ride back to the top, but all that is out the window now and Parker has returned for his title.

LEGACY! 50

PRELIMS

WELTERWEIGHT: Terry Akki (10-10) vs Uri Haber (8-2-1)
HEAVYWEIGHT: Master Wong (7-6) vs Travis Browne (12-11)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Diagoro Yabaisama (8-1) vs Clint Lomax Jr (6-1)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Mike Hussle (13-9) vs Blind Shaman (10-3-1)
WELTERWEIGHT: George Pedro (14-6-2) vs Jericho Hill (9-3-1)

MAIN CARD

HEAVYWEIGHT: Eeazy Ee (25-7) vs Thomas Bannon (8-4)
Eeazy Ee was riding a 10 fight winning streak coming into his debut in Legacy, but he was busted wide open by Culver Crimson early in his last fight and the doctor was forced to call the fight midway through the 2nd round. Crimson utilized some excellent dirty boxing to batter Ee and made him look helpless multiple times in the round and a half fight. Thomas Bannon has 4 wins in the promotion sandwiched around a knockout loss to Ji Lu a couple fights ago. Since coming over from his brief stints in MFN and NYFN, he’s proven himself to be a legitimate finisher and won his first 3 fights by KO, including the first 2 by head kick. The good news in this fight for Eeazy Eee is he should be able to avoid the clinch since most of the big strikes from Thomas Bannon come at distance. The downside is that Bannon throws with very bad intentions and is always one head kick or superman punch away from turning your lights out at any point in the fight.

BANTAMWEIGHT: Vincent Oketch (17-8) vs William Blake (14-5-1)
Two former champions at 135 pounds in Legacy will do battle in this fight. Vincent Oketch captured gold against Edward Brown a couple fights ago, but lost his first title defense to Da Skrumbo by a nip and tuck split decision. All 3 judges scored the fight 50-47 but 2 judges gave the fight to Da Skrumbo in a very interesting situation. If he could knock off a former champion like William Blake, he could very well be in line for a rematch. Blake’s last 2 fights have been against current title challenger Jong Un Kim. The first fight was ruled a draw and the second was won by Kim by arm bar in the 2nd round. These two met a couple years ago in a non-title match and it was William Blake who won the unanimous decision. Blake would go on to defeat Carlos Beltran for the title in his next fight. One would think that the winner of this fight should have the next shot at the gold.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Ravi Shankoli (21-4) vs Johan Attila (13-4)
In our first of three title fights on this card, newly crowned 205 pound champion Ravi Shankoli will make his first title defense against rising newcomer in Legacy, Johan Attila. Attila is 2-0 in the promotion and is fresh off getting revenge from an earlier loss to Johny Clattenburg. Attila was able to finish Clattenburg extremely late in the 2nd round with a flurry of strikes. Johan Attila is a ground and pound wrestler in every sense of the word. Unlike most guys that fight with the style, he has excellent jiu jitsu that makes him almost impossible to submit. For his opponents, the mat is not somewhere you want to be against him. Look for Ravi Shankoli to try to keep his distance in this fight and work his boxing to see if he can open up any holes in Attila’s game. If his takedown defense holds strong, Shankoli should be able to successfully defend his newly won title.

BANTAMWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Da Skrumbo (21-5) vs Jong Un Kim (18-3-1)
Long time Imperial champion Jong Un Kim is getting his second crack at gold in Legacy in this fight against 135 pound champion Da Skrumbo. Jong Un Kim won 8 straight title fights in the Imperial promotion and then won his first 2 fights in Legacy against top competition before being defeated in a tight split decision against Edward Brown. After a draw and subsequent submission win over contender Johan Attila, Kim finds himself at the doorstep at 135 pounds. Inside, he finds Da Skrumbo who has won 4 straight fights in the promotion and recently captured gold against Vincent Oketch in his last fight. Kim is a very lean bantamweight and could struggle with a fighter as big and strong as Skrumbo, but his ground game is incredibly good and he has 7 submission wins to his name so far. Kim just has to been leery of Skrumbo’s monster right hand and that has helped him put away 15 of his 21 wins by knockout. Jong Un Kim has showcased a granite chin in his time in Legacy, but it’ll get the biggest test of his career against Da Skrumbo in this title fight.

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Phillip Dyson (19-6) vs Scott Norton (26-13)
We’re saving the biggest guys for last as Super Heavyweight champion Phillip Dyson will defend his title against a mountain of a man in Scott Norton. Norton is a solid 300 pounder outside of competition but prefers to cut down to around the 280 pound mark to fight in this division. On the other hand, you’ll never catch Phillip Dyson walking around any heavier than 240 pounds and he also prefers to cut extra weight. Dyson is very close to being able to cut down to fight at 205 pounds, but with a 3 fight winning streak and capturing the 265+ pound title in his last fight against Declan Sweeney, I can’t see him going anywhere soon. Still, Dyson will be giving up nearly 60 pounds of size in this fight. The aforementioned Sweeney was in a very similar weight bracket as Norton though. Dyson is such an elite striker that he’s able to use his speed advantage in virtually every fight in this division to avoid the big shots from massive guys like Sweeney and Norton. He’ll need to employ the same stick and move style that he used against Declan Sweeney to be successful in this fight.

LEGACY! 51

PRELIMS

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Josh Massey (6-2) vs Grado Itsyersel (4-3)
MIDDLEWEIGHT: Nicolas Arenas (11-9) vs Arthur Halo (11-5)
HEAVYWEIGHT: Hennan Hoyce (6-2) vs Giraldo Costanzo (6-6)
MIDDLEWEIGHT: Pekka Kindmark (12-5) vs Doug Pattersson (12-9)
WELTERWEIGHT: Alfred Hitscock (13-6) vs Kim II Sung (13-8)

MAIN CARD

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Steven Rutherford (14-0-1) vs John Altare (12-5)

One of the top kickboxers in the world will look to build upon his 3-0 record in the Legacy promotion. Steven Rutherford is a very well-known striker and has made quite the name for himself in MMA circles with his undefeated start. He faces off against John Altare whose 3-2 record may not look impressive, but both losses have come to title challengers. Like his foe Rutherford, Altare is primarily a striker by nature. His excellent boxing and solid all around striking have led to knockout victories in 9 of his 12 wins. Altare has been finished a few times in his 17 fight career, but he’s also faced stiffer competition than the streaking Steven Rutherford. This should be a big time barometer fight for Rutherford. A win could set him up with a potential title eliminator fight. Expect this fight to be fireworks from the opening bell and to see someone finish this fight.

LEGACY PREDICTION: RUTHERFORD BY TKO

LIGHTWEIGHT: Dennis Page (26-13) vs Cletus Landry (21-12-2)

Former longtime TTFC 155 pound champion Dennis Page is making his debut in Legacy against another TTFC vet, Cletus Landry. Page was actually a 2 time champion there, but has struggled as of late going 1-4 in his last 5 fights. Even with a miserable last 5 fights, Page is a very tough fighter who has saw it all at age 31. Cletus Landry has been fighting in big organizations for years, including MFN and Ascension. He’s never tasted gold in his career, but he’s a very solid grinder who you know is always ready for a war. Page is an elite wrestle-boxer who has a staggering 21 of his 26 career wins by knockout. He’s equally dangerous on the feet with his hands as he is delivering ground and pound. Look for Landry to try to counter his powerful style with sharp jabs and good footwork and try to snatch a decision win from the reeling Dennis Page. The winner of this fight will be off to a promising start in their Legacy rebirth.

LEGACY PREDICTION: PAGE BY TKO

WELTERWEIGHT: Chiku Maneno (16-6) vs Jack Jone (12-3)

Coming from the Coyotile promotion as the reigning 170 pound champion, big things were expected from Jack Jone right away. Jone was unable to deliver and lost his first two fights to big names like Better Dead and Alfred Hitscock. Since then, Jone has reeled off 3 straight wins by TKO and is really starting to flex his muscles. This is a huge fight for him though. His past 3 opponents haven’t been at the level that Chiku Maneno is at. Maneno lost his opening fight in Legacy for the 170 pound title and has defeated the aforementioned Better Dead twice and Alfred Hitscock once. Jone will have to approach this fight like the ones before, but this one will be on the main card and watched by many more fans. If Jone could knock off Maneno, he could find himself in a title eliminator fight and close to completing a true rags to riches story.

LEGACY PREDICTION: MANENO BY TKO

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Don Diego (21-10-1) vs Chris Severn (17-12-1)

In another battling of debuting fighters, reigning Slaughterhouse 185 pound champion is making the climb up to 205 pounds in his debut against Chris Severn. Severn is a Troid veteran who has fought and beat some of the best fighters in the world, but hasn’t earned a title yet. In his last 7 Troid fights, Severn was 6-1 and evolving into one of the top 205 pounders in the world. He was probably looking at a title shot soon at Troid, so the move to Legacy left some people shocked. Don Diego may be one of the most technically sound fighters in MMA and he has power to go along with it. He’ll be giving up over 8 inches in height in this fight and close to 25 pounds, unless he can quickly put on some muscle. He wasn’t very big at 185 pounds, so it’ll be interesting to see if his size will finally befall him against the much bigger Severn. Both fighters have a ton of experience so I doubt you see much in the way of nerves from either guy as they make their debut on the big stage.

LEGACY PREDICTION: DIEGO BY DECISION

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Phillip Dyson (20-6) vs Declan Sweeney (38-17)

Phillip Dyson just refuses to take time off apparently. Dyson knocked out Scott Norton less than a month ago and is back to defending his title, this time against Declan Sweeney, the man he took the title from a couple fights ago. Sweeney has a couple of impressive finishes on his resume since that loss, in which he was brutalized on the feet. Sweeney was able to land 6 takedowns in the first fight, but was only given a round on one judge’s scorecard. If Sweeney can be a little more active on the ground and prevent the referee from standing them up, he could get his title back in this fight. If he stands with Dyson too long, he could become the sparring dummy he turned into last time though. Sweeney wasn’t completely dominated on the feet, but Dyson certainly landed the bigger shots and more volume than the former champion. The big question in this fight is the takedown defense of the champion. Has Dyson shored that up since the last fight when he was routinely taken down?

LEGACY PREDICTION: DYSON BY TKO

LEGACY! 52

PRELIMS

BANTAMWEIGHT: Bastyn Dall (10-8) vs Manof theDingos (6-4)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Joao De Santo Cristo (4-1) vs Miguel Escrima (9-5)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Police Officer (12-9) vs Jared Nicholson (7-4)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Hardijan Matic (12-4) vs Matt Smith (12-5)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Azar Qasi (12-5) vs Chad Murray (9-5)

MAIN CARD

LIGHTWEIGHT: De Bruyne (15-2-1) vs Lorne Malvo (13-3)

Long time NEX 170 pound champion De Bruyne’s only two losses in his pro career have come at the hands of current champion Liam Donnelly. De Bruyne fought to a draw with Charles Bronson in his Legacy debut in a war that ended up as a draw. Bruyne would go on to finish Bronson with a KO punch in the 5th round in the rematch and claim the Legacy 155 pound championship. He’ll get a tough test in this fight against former INY champion Lorne Malvo. Malvo is 3-1 in Legacy and his only defeat also came at the hands of Liam Donnelly. Both of these guys would love nothing more than to get another crack at the champion, but they’ll have to go through each other first. Both of these guys have never been finished by strikes in their careers, which is a total of 34 fights coming into this one. Both guys will probably look to keep it standing and see where they stand on the feet.

LEGACY PREDICTION: BRUYNE BY DECISION

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Ed Gennero (18-9) vs Robert Mazzuca (15-6)

Former Trinity champion Robert Mazzuca is another one of the many Trinity imports making his debut on this card. Mazzuca captured the 185 pound title in his first fight in the promotion, but wasn’t able to successfully defend it. He’ll have his hands full in this fight with former Legacy title challenger Ed Gennero. Gennero is a very talented striker and capable of knocking anyone out on any given night, but his chin is certainly the big question mark. Gennero has been knocked out 8 times in 27 career fights. To add to that, Robert Mazzuca has several clean KO wins on his resume. That has to concern Gennero, but he’ll have to avoid being too afraid of mixing it up, due to his own striking prowess. The fighters are very similar in size, down to the inch and neither fighter should own much of a strength advantage over the other. If Gennero can fight intelligently and defend against the big bombs, he should be able to finish this fight sooner or later.

LEGACY PREDICTION: GENNERO BY TKO

HEAYWEIGHT: Obelix De Gaul (11-6) vs Dante Cross Furia (15-5)

Dante Cross Furia never won a title or even fought for one in Trinity, but he was a man that commanded a lot of respect. The bulk of his 20 fight career was spent there and he finished with an 11-3 record and a lot of fans wondering why he never got a shot at gold. He could be well on his way to earning that opportunity in Legacy, but he’ll face Obelix De Gaul first. De Gaul is 2-2 so far in the promotion, including his most recent TKO win over Vincenzo Vitalli. He’ll get a much higher caliber fighter in this one though and it’ll be interesting to see if De Gaul can finally rise to the occasion against top talents. Furia is an all or nothing heavyweight who has never went to a decision and has all of his wins by knockout. De Gaul doesn’t have quite the power that Furia has, but he’s a very similar type of fighter. I would expect this fight to definitely finish inside the distance and with one of the competitors out cold.

LEGACY PREDICTION: FURIA BY TKO

MIDDLEWEIGHT: Cid Strife (14-2) vs Jermaine Wright (14-3)

Former USFC 185 pound champion Jermaine Wright is making his Legacy debut, but his reputation certainly precedes him. Wright won 9 straight fights in the promotion and successfully defended his title 6 times before deciding to make the jump to Legacy. He gets a huge fight right out of the gate against former Legacy champion Cid Strife. Strife is the former Imperial and Legacy champion at 185 pound and has 7 successful title defenses between the 2 organizations. Strife also defeated Wright about 4 years ago for the Imperial title. Strife won the fight by a lopsided unanimous decision and really baffled Wright with his dirty boxing and devastating head kicks. It was probably the closest fight that Wright came to being knocked out. In 17 career fights, nobody has been able to finish the man. The very same thing can be said about Cid Strife though. Strife will be at somewhat of a size disadvantage, but you can certainly never count out “A Tribute to” Cid Strife.

LEGACY PREDICTION: STRIFE BY DECISION

HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT: © Ji Lu (18-5) vs Constantine Kermit (12-3)

After opening in Legacy with 2 straight losses, many people casted Constantine Kermit aside as a guy who would wash out sooner rather than later. Six fights later, he’s back on the big stage and contending for the Legacy Heavyweight title in the main event. Kermit is an incredibly dangerous kickboxer who makes his bones at heavyweight being much quicker to the punch, albeit much smaller as well. At around 225 pounds at fight time, Kermit is definitely on the smaller side at heavyweight and it’ll be interesting to see if champion Ji Lu will try to use his size to take this fight to the ground. Lu has a couple of submission wins on his resume and is a highly touted jiu-jitsu player. To go with that great ground game, Lu has power to burn. Fifteen of his wins have been knockout finishes. Lu will have nearly 6 inches of reach and over 20 pounds of weight in his favor in this fight, so Kermit will certainly be making an uphill climb if he hopes to leave this fight with the title.

LEGACY PREDICTION: LU BY SUBMISSION

WELTERWEIGHT: John Brown (8-10) vs Nino Niederreiter (4-1)
LIGHTWEIGHT: Winston Churchill (12-8) vs Temudjin Khaan (12-6)
WELTERWEIGHT: Manolito Damhuis (12-4) vs Andrei Dunas (11-6)
SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Monster Hero (17-10) vs RP McMurphy (12-5)
BANTAMWEIGHT: Edward Brown (12-1-1) vs Charles Bronson (11-3-1)

MAIN CARD

LIGHTWEIGHT: Project Falcon (9-1) vs Dominic Fortune (9-2)

Project Falcon and Dominic Fortune have been on a collision course at 155 pounds in Legacy for a long time. Falcon is 5-0 inside the promotion and has been banging the drum for a title shot. Before he gets it, he’ll have to go through another very tough contender in Dominic Fortune. Fortune is 6-1 in the promotion and his only loss was to former dominant Coyotile champion Antonio Lobo. These fighters have so many similarities that it’s staggering. Both guys are 25-26 years old and prefer to strike, but have no problems rolling on the ground either. Even their records are very similar and both fighters have 6 of their 9 wins by knockout. Fortune has reeled off a couple straight wins since that Lobo loss, but this win would shine that spotlight even brighter in his direction. This fight should be very competitive. So much so that it makes the job of picking a winner in this one very challenging.

LEGACY PREDICTION: FALCON BY DECISION

FEATHERWEIGHT: Andrzej Gajewski (45-16-2) vs Shogun Iron Tyson (17-8)

In this fight, we have another matchup of veteran versus current contender, both making their debut in Legacy. Andrzej Gajewski has been a champion at 135 and 145 pounds in 6 different organizations in his career and recently held the 135 pound crown in Evolution. He is definitely not done in his career, despite being 38 years old. Shogun Iron Tyson is no stranger to belts either, as he has been a champion at 145 pounds in multiple organizations. Outside of age, these fighters are extremely similar in terms of size and overall game. I would expect this fight to hit the scorecards just based on both guys being very tough to finish. Right now, Gajewski is the more hyped fighter based off his performance in Evolution, but Tyson has a shot at making a huge statement in his debut and possibly lining himself up for a title shot very early in his tenure in Legacy.

LEGACY PREDICTION: GAJEWSKI BY DECISION

SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT: Thomas Bannon (9-4) vs Gunner Hilton (13-2)

Legacy newcomer Gunner Hilton is currently riding a seven fight winning streak, six of which have been title fights. Hilton has all 13 of his wins by knockout and very rarely has to throw more than once punch to do so. At nearly 300 pounds in walking around weight, Hilton is as visually intimidating as anyone in the division and has the hands to back it up. He’ll face Thomas Bannon in his debut, who has sandwiched 5 wins in Legacy around a defeat to former champion Ji Lu. Bannon will no doubt be the smaller fighter, but he’ll have a very slight reach advantage. His striking is quite frankly jaw dropping. He has four of his knockout wins by head kick in a division not renowned for that strike. Both fighters certainly have avenues to win this fight, but it’ll come down to who can land the big strike first. Both guys have been finished a couple times in their career and you can’t always recover from the types of strikes that these guys throw.

LEGACY PREDICTION: BANNON BY TKO

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Darren Lockeyer (31-14-1) vs Rocco LeBaron (11-1)

After finally suffering his first professional loss in MMA in his last fight, Rocco LeBaron is looking to bounce back in his Legacy debut. LeBaron was 11-0 and all of his wins were by TKO coming into his last fight. He was basically dominated though by Martti Molksi and eventually finished with seconds to spare in the 3rd round. He desperately wants to get back to winning in this fight and he gets a veteran in Darren Lockeyer who is probably over the hill at this point. Lockeyer is 38 years of age and was a dominant champion in the Steel Peel organization, but that has been a few years ago and since then, he’s struggled to put wins together. Lockeyer has lost his last two fights and was quickly done in the Evolution organization which is right there with the cream of the crop in MMA. Both guys are excellent strikers, but LeBaron presents with much more youth and size in this fight.

LEGACY PREDICTION: LeBARON by TKO

BANTAMWEIGHT: Jong Un Kim (19-3-1) vs Eugene Judd (29-6-1)

In our main event, we have a super fight of sorts. Jong Un Kim is the new champion at 135 pounds in Legacy and Eugene Judd is the new champion of Synchronicity. Kim will be the younger fighter in this one by 6 years, but he’ll be giving up around 5 pounds of weight and over 4 inches in height. These two fighters are certainly top 10 fighters in the world at their division and have a big opportunity to move up in this fight. Once again, it’s another matchup of very similar fighters being paired against each other in this one. Kim and Judd have no flaws in their game. Both guys can strike and grapple, evidenced by their numerous finishes, but both guys can dig deep and pull out the decision as well. Judd is one of the only men in mixed martial arts history to be a champion at 3 different weight classes in their career. At 32 years old, Judd’s time at the top may be starting to dwindle, but he’s riding a 3 fight winning streak and is still a dominant fighter.

LEGACY PREDICTION: KIM BY DECISION
