popart
Creating your fighters is one of the most fun aspects of the game. I’m sure you’ve been here: you’re all excited to create a new fighter, anticipating their future dominance, when you realize that you have nothing at all prepared: no name, hometown, walkout song, or even height or weight class. Sure, you can name your fighter something nonsensical, and while it clearly works for some people, it doesn’t work for everyone. So, i’ve written a guide that can help you with any and all aspects of creation! STEP ONE: The Name My personal favorite choice is Behindthename.com. They have a name generator that consists of tons and tons of different backgrounds, from African to Vietnamese, to everywhere in between. They even have ancient names, mythological names, and “whimsical” names, which includes exaggerated “wrestler” or “hippy” names. These whimsical names are pretty goofy, but still fun to mess around with. STEP 1/B: Nickname This is a harder one to generate for someone, not knowing anything about their character. However, for inspiration, here is a list of the All Time greatest nicknames in MMA. STEP TWO: The Hometown This can add some depth to your character by setting the foundation for a rough backstory. Say he’s a hick from a small farm town- Chikasha, Oklahoma works great. From a rough neighborhood? Harlem, New York. Below i’ve compiled a list of Wikipedia pages listing the most populated cities in some of the most popularly chosen countries in Tycoon- United States Brazil Russia Japan Australia Poland Finland Nigeria England Jamaica Ireland China India I will add more upon request. STEP THREE: Walkout Song Spotify is awesome for this. You can either choose some of your own favorite songs, or try and match your character. Old School Rap New Rap Classic Rock Modern Rock Indie Psychedelic Rock Classic Country Reggae STEP FOUR: Weight class/Height Weight class is entirely up to you. Each one has its own distinct way of being played. However, I can give some height recommendations based on weightclass. Bantamweight: 160 cm to 175 cm Featherweight: 160 cm to 180 cm Lightweight: 170 cm to 185 cm Welterweight: 175 cm to 190 cm Middleweight: 180 cm, to 195 cm Light Heavyweight: 185 cm to 200 cm Heavyweight: 190 cm to 210 cm Super Heavyweight: 195 cm to 220 cm Of course, you can choose to go outside of these parameters. This is just based on the top ten p4p at each weight class. FINAL STEP: The Bio This is where you get to have the most creativity! Let your imagination run wild with possibilities here. Maybe they have a rags to riches story, maybe they have always wanted to be a fighter or were motivated to do so by tragedy. Whatever works for you! I’ll post some of my own bios down below as inspiration. “Brown's first experience in MMA was as a promoter. As a first grader, he would schedule fights between classmates, and sell PPV tickets to the fifth graders. He would be expelled after three kids were diagnosed with post concussion syndrome. He began training in the streets of LA. “ “Rocheser was raised on a sunflower farm in Wichita, KS. Raised by hippies, Arlo embraced his parents love of nature, yoga and weed, but couldn’t help being a fierce competitor. After High School, he moved to Los Angeles to attempt a career in MMA. Catch him at Yellow Lotus, talking about his Gi made of hemp.” “You may recognize Dewey Decimal’s name from the numerical Library Catalog. Many people think it was invented by Melvil Dewey. In actuality, Decimal is a real person, and he’s pissed. After years of teenagers talking too loudy and not returning books, he’s coming with a vengeance. If you want to study up on him, you better check 796.8 for books on ass kicking. “ “Eduardo Esteves is known as “The Mexican Masochist” because of his great love for pain- not only does he not dodge punches, he welcomes them. His opponents however, are not so thrilled to get in the octagon with him. His opponents have described his pre fight nipple tweaking as “aggressive,” and his in fight moaning as “deeply, deeply disturbing.” His manager agrees, but can’t argue with his granite chin and KO Power!” So there you have it- hopefully you have a character that you’re happy with, that is prepared for world domination! Other managers, feel free to include your own opinions.

Thanks to the island being idiotic, Devin Dilbrandt Retired at 18... good to see it! I made the mistake of making an 18 yo fighter on the island back when i started. I’ve noticed that people put a lot less effort into character creation for island fighters, which is understandable considering their disposable nature. bobloblaw
This is a great guide. I've been trying to give my fighters better and more in depth. It makes it more fun. Hopefully my projects will be good enough that I will keep caring about building their story
