Guest Posted April 23, 2009 Report Share Posted April 23, 2009 Kings of Rio is proud to announce the Kings of Rio – Vale Tudo Grand Prix. A tournament of warriors in multiple weight classes. This event is set to begin in May. We will be taking event entries from fighters up to the 205 pound weight class. So anyone from 135 to 205 are free to join. The first 16 fighters to alert Theon Greyjoy by email will be given a contract of eligibility and gains permission to fight for the $25,000 purse and Kings of Rio contract. “We are honored to hold this kind of vale tudo, no rules event and see who comes out on top. It should be very exciting,” said Theon Greyjoy. Grand Prix Rules: - Fighters weight must be 205 lbs. or lighter at fight time. - Fighters must reside in Brazil - Fighter agrees to sign a 4 fight contract. If your fighter loses he will be released from the contract. Your fighter is compensated for every fight he participates in, win or lose and keeps his signing bonus. - First 16 fighters gain entry. There will be a set number of alternates just in case a fighter can’t fight. Alternates receive the same pay as listed fighters. - Grand Prix is single elimination. - The first bouts will be selected randomly into a bracket and seeded accordingly. - Kings of Rio does not want Glass Joes so a proven record is recommended.
