Guest
As there is no option to bet on a tournament winner, following feedback I have created a pole so people can vote on who they think will win the tournament. Please see the sign up thread for the tournament layout. Group 1 Fred Patterson 8-2 (Canada) The former heavyweight champion in Infliction FC in Sydney is a great submission fighter but also has some sound stand up skills. Rigan Machado 6-0 (Sweden) Submission specialist and the Last Heavyweight Champion in UFC in Helsinki. Demarcus Musasi 6-2 (Confirmed – Ukraine) Ukraine born and raised now lives in Tokyo. Max Reser 5-1 (Germany) A great fighter from a country that has won a lot of World Cup events in the past in football will they do the same in MMA? An all round fighter that has had success in 2 companies in LA already. Group 2 Pablo Dominguez 5-0 (Mexico) The Current Konflikt Heavyweight Champion and a great all-rounder happy on the ground and on his feet. Thorbjorn Rekdal 5-0 (Norway) A dangerous striker with big power the last champion in the recently closed FUC. Pirko FloFlop 4-1 (Scotland) The toughest man in Konflikt that wears a skirt…Sorry Kilt no cross dressing Alex Reid wanna be here. Paul Crawford 3-0 (USA) Great stand up fighter and fought in the ultra tough BoonFight before it closed.
PSUMike
IMO, group one is rather weak. I think it will be someone from group 2. Thorbjorn or Dominguez will take it imo.
JimW
Musasi has a great chance.

dombros02
neo i dont dissagree with you the only thing i do add though is how quick can he ko ppl and not get taken down. He doesnt seem to have a solid ground game but even so a good manager knows how to set sliders and plan for weaknesses. Also thanks for the support guys lets go dominguez lol
JimW
Max Reser is the weakest. His manager must suck.

Guest
Here are some thoughts on Group 2. Everything is my personal opinion and i hope i would not hurt anyone. So here we go. Round 1. Pablo vs Rekdal. Awesome matchup. This two guys are regarded as main favourites in this tournament and are phenomenal athletes. I think the key for this first matchup would be wrestling and Pablo would take a unanimous decision victory. Pirko vs Paul. MT vs Boxing. Have a feeling that Paul is going to KO Pirko despite his outstanding MT skills. Round 2. Pablo vs Paul. Once again think that Pablo can utilise his superior wrestling winning due the submission. So Pablo catching the 2 win and with 6 points in the pocket guaratees himself a place in semi-final. Rekdal vs Pirko. Not really sure but imo this fight is going to go to the ground. Rekdal should pull a sub victory. And final 3 round. Rekdal vs Paul. The fight for the second place in semi-final. Should be though fight but more mature Crawford is going to catch Rekdal and KO him in second round. Pablo vs Pirko. Pablo via submission. So the second group winners are: Dominguez and Crawford. Of course 2 and 3 group rounds are very late perspective and everything will change after the first round. Despite my predictions, hope Mirko is going to pull someones head off

Guest
so does this mean i should try and make an insight for group 1? I will probably be all wrong though lol. Why not? Lets make this stuff entertaining together! Would be nice if every participant would write his report on opposite group.
dombros02
Ok now let me take a shot at this one...here are predictions for group 1. Round 1 Machado vs Patterson: These 2 fighters for the most part are even but im giving a slight edge to Patterson if he can keep it standing. I say Patterson by decision. Reser vs Musasi: Musasi has got to be the favored out of this group. Musasi having the better skills i will say sub victory. Round 2 Musasi vs Patterson: This will be a jiujitsu clinic if it gets to the ground and even though patterson is a brown belt i give the edge to Musasi. Musasi by decision and giving him his 2nd victory and locking up a place in the semis. Reser vs Machado: I will give this one to Reser...Machado will not last standing up in this bout and if he wears himself out its lights out via ko. Reser by ko. Round 3 Reser vs Patterson: The winner of this one gets the 2nd spot and advances...expect both men to go all out on this one but this one will not go the distance. Im predicting Reser tires him out and picks up a late ko victory. Musasi vs Machado: This one goes to Musasi he has the better skills. Musasi and Reser are my 2 picks although Patterson could pull it out.
Guest
dombros02, Nicely done! Nice to see you giving your thoughts and going through it as fight by fight basis. If you get them all right, I want the next set of Lotto numbes. I'm not that good in predictions recently. My last bets using virtual money were Satoshi Ishii and Escudero. On Ishii i've lost 8000

Jobby
I had to vote for my fighter Pirko is not the best fighter by any stretch, but i plan to bribe the refs with haggis and Croatian flag covered Kilts Good luck to all the guys involved. And remember...keep that left hand up..

Guest
Spoiler!!! The first round is over and we can check the predictions folks. Pablo vs Rekdal. Hell, Rekdal is definetely a scary dude! I failed with my prediction and Rekdal just left no chance for Pablo and Ko'ed him in first round. Despite this fact we should understand that two main favourites have met and someone had to loose. Pirko vs Paul. This one was the fight of the night for sure. And this time i was just right with the outcome of the fight. Paul KO victory. Considering that pairs would likely change i'll give my update about round 2. Rekdal vs Paul. This one is really hard to predict. Both can punch hard and have granite chins. My vote goes to Paul via KO. Pablo vs Pirko. I think this time Pablo will take this fight to the ground and pull the sub victory.
JimW
I knew Id lose to Musasi, I always lose to Muay Thai guys.
Guest
The second round of group stage is over and we have some upsets really. The main Tourney favourite Pablo Dominquez is out. Pirko showed that is for real! At thesame time Paul Crawford guaranteed himself a place in semi-final and we'll have a clash of two wonderful strikers, MT vs Boxing, FloFlop vs Rekdal, for the second place. This is gonna be really fascinating. As for the second group, the 3 round would be just a formality and only the first place in group would be in the kitty.
