  2. my girlfriend and i were supposed to fly home from philly at about 2:30 in the afternoon on sunday, but they cancelled our flight (citing "mechanical issues", of course). they said they couldn't get us on another flight until monday morning, and gave us a hotel voucher for the night (but no money/comps for food/anything else). the hotel didn't have a laundry service, and we hadn't brought extra clothes, so my girlfriend hand washed some of our clothes in our hotel bathroom (using bath gel, water, and the hair dryer). as an aside, my gf has heart problems (had surgery a year ago), and had a doctor's appointment on monday to get a heart monitor put on for a while. so, we wake up monday morning (each of us with a couple bed bug bites, so avoid the sheraton suites near the philly airport) and catch our new flight, which has a short layover in chicago. the plane had a broken bathroom, and was delayed at the gate/runway for about an hour. awesome. when we land in chicago i check my phone, and had a voicemail that our connecting flight has been cancelled and that they re-booked us on a flight at 6pm the NEXT DAY (tuesday). so we get them on the phone and they end up being able to get us on a flight tuesday morning at 8:30. we get a hotel voucher again, but this time we make them give us two rooms (one for each of us), just to cost them some more money for fucking us over for two days. again, no money for food/travel/anything. now, you might not think that not getting money for food/travel is a big deal, but keep in mind that the hotels they put us in are right by the airport, where there's NOTHING else around, so if you want food you either need to get delivery or eat using the hotel's overpriced restaurant or roomservice (23 bucks for fish and chips? seriously?). and if you don't want to just hang out at the hotel you need to take a taxi somewhere, which can be quite expensive of course. our phones ring at about 4:30 in the morning on tuesday, with an automated message saying our flight has AGAIN been cancelled. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME???!! my girlfriend calls in trying to get something re-scheduled. the first girl that she talks to says there's nothing until WEDNESDAY NIGHT, and starts getting lippy when my gf is asking her to check other airports. now, we weren't being picky this whole time, and have been asking them to get us into pretty much any airport in southern california (we were supposed to fly into orange county, but were open to L.A. or ontario or burbank). eventually my gf hangs up and calls back to talk to someone else. this new person says she can get us into the burbank airport (about 90 minutes from where we live), but the flight leaves in an hour and a half. ok great, we take it and rush the fuck out of the hotel (no time to shower or anything) and head to the airport. we BARELY make it on the plane (literally the last 2 people to get on, and they shut the doors about 60 seconds after we got on), and are headed to dallas for a short layover before flying to burbank. we land in dallas, nervously check our phones and, surprisingly, there's no message saying our flight was cancelled. phew. so we made it to the burbank airport at around noon, and then had to wait for about 2 hours for a friend to pick us up (a one-way rental car would have been $150 bucks, which is insane). throughout all of this, we hardly even get an apology from the american airlines people. no offer for a discounted future flight, or a free upgrade to business or first class, nothing. not a god damn thing. and if we hadn't been on their ass about looking for other flights we wouldn't have gotten home until late WEDNESDAY night (more than 3 days late). i can, however, assure you that there are some scathing letters on the way to their management, although i regret not farting in the envelope or something. moral of the story: NEVER EVER fly with american airlines, and never stay at the sheraton suites by the philly airport. cliff notes: american airlines anally violated me for 48 hours, and didn't even give me a reach around.

  3. Are there any good BJJ fighters on the game? Guys who win mostly by submissions. I'm thinking of a BJJ player for my next long term project, but thinking is it worth it and can he be a success. Looking at real life not many top fighters are BJJ fighters as there main offence apart from Shinya Aoki but he sucked against GM. Anyone?

  11. I think a great improvement would be to upgrade the mail system so that one could edit text as well as insert images etc into a mail. Changing fonts and font sizes would be great. There also seems to be a prolem with the current mailing system where it leaves huge gaps in the text when you pres enter for the next line. I hope this changes soon

  12. If I can only take one, then I would take clinch. But as to which I like to use more? GNP reigns for me. I love holding people down and punching them until they stop moving.
    1 point
  13. Clinchwork essentially covers an entire range of combat, and without it you're helpless there. GnP covers punching people you're holding down. Clinchwork it is!

  14. I use both pretty heavily to be honest, i cant think of a top guy in the game that dosnt at least have defensive clinch skills, i know a handful that dont use it offensively but thats about it, its just the done thing. I use GNP to setup my sub attempts but lately i have been over doing the GNP and failing to sub at all... before i can knock the guy out. If i had to take one, Clinch all the way, you can live without GNP if you must... but live without clinch in MMATycoon? crazy talk.

  19. I do not think we should lose the belt. I think it should only decrease as the attributes of Boxing / MT / Wrestling. But only the manager can see this fighter. That would be good for a surprise to the game. BELTS RED could only lose. With the Skill Maintenance and Natural Apititude few would be true Black Belt.

  21. I know others would like to keep it low but id be happy with even 20 day hits to be honest, then it becomes a definate "last resort" option so it dosnt add too much to the current FA list but it is an option and when people use it ... it means something to the bottom line. I dont care how much it is realy, id just love it to become a very optional... option.

  23. Riddlez I think you should calm down man. Take a chill pill and think about it. Seems like you're running to every direction at the same time ALL the time. Few weeks back you made a thread about how you're in trouble and need help with the org becouse you have gotten into so many things at the same time. Building a functioning top org will take time no matter what! You have good thing going on in Bellum and IMO you should just stick with it!

  24. that kinda goes against the entire point of the changes. the point was, more specialization amongst the populous. as far as the rest goes...what's your definition of nice fighters? to some, that may mean monsters and to others that may be a sup/wond/wond/purple...both are attainable but you gotta be willing to NOT do it the mindless "old way" and do it the thinking man's "new way". doug supremem has a novel idea also...why not fight ur guys? it even resets tickers to the point where you'll have 2-3 NONE maintenance sessions. u wanna see POPS like the good old days? lol. i wanna see FIGHTS like the good REALLY old days haha! back before anyone even knew what a project was, back when u'd make a guy and drop him in a qfc 5 minutes after creation! loool...wait til u get old dude and realize what exactly maintenance is. even michael jordan had to practice free throws and jumpers to stay on top.

  25. No one said anything close to what you're suggesting here.

  26. I was thinking the game should yet another level of training called "MMA sparring" since real fighters do this in real life. This sparring would lower your tickers in everything and increase your skill levels in everything (but obviously not as much as a skill specific sparring session for those relevant skills). This probably wouldn't be attractive to newer figthers as the skill "pops" would be slower (although more than one skill might "pop" after such sparring) but perhaps to veteran fighters would like it as a means to maintain skill levels.

  27. I wouldn't necessarily go so far as to say it makes his rhetoric irrelevant, but I get what you are saying and I don't necessarily disagree. However, the fact remains that this type of rhetoric (along with it's twisted view of history and vision of a conspiracy imposed by "cultural marxists") is gaining more and more ground in mainstream political debates, and that is problematic. The fact that this individual is crazy doesn't mean we should therefore disregard the (very concrete) connections between his world view and the contemporary conservative movements in the western world. The fact remains that the world views expressed by groups like the Tea Party in the U.S. and the BNP in the UK rely on the same kind of misrecognition of history and the same disregard for actual knowledge (based on reality as opposed to belief or ideology, and this isn't a jab at their beliefs or anything, in my country our ultra conservative government frequently dismisses the opinions of academics and critics by calling them members of the "reality based community." This is meant as criticism since, unlike the ultra conservatives who seek to reshape the world, the "reality based community" relies on facts and knowledge about how the world is currently. The danger with this perspective is of course that it can lead to it's followers disregarding any evidence that demonstrates a flaw in their political or social programs because they don't base their beliefs about politics, economics or society in "reality" but in what they personally believe reality should be like). To dismiss this connection is to excuse the abuse of reason that is currently occurring in mainstream politics. Just as a side note though, I also feel it is equally unproductive to dismiss the grievances that gave rise to the Tea Party or the BNP as merely racist or ignorant. But it is not meaningless that there is such an affinity between the views expressed by this freak and populist right wing politics.

  28. We already have 90% of the fighters built like string beans, 7'tall and 150 pounds. Anything that is done in this regard should be to minimize the advantage of ridiculiously tall strikers, especially in regard to all the 100% accuracy crap that is the current fad.

  29. Keeping the belts would be very unfair to the other primaries. BJJ already is the hardest primary to scout. Why make it harder just for aesthetic reasons? In real life BJJ belts are as much a sign of respect as ability. (Losing a belt would be very disrespectful to the student) In the game they show your fighter's primary....... Let's allow the belt to do its job please.

  31. Does anyone else think this has become way too complicated, decreasing stats, at like 21 years old, it doesn't happen in real life maybe at 30-35 and you've had 20 hard fights, had a few KO's, injuries not when your still basically a kid. I didn't see anything wrong with the way things were, people would have caught up eventually when the top dogs retired, Mike should have just sped the learning speed up for 18-21 years old to catch up. Shame really, cos the simplicity of this is what appealed to me and I may be alone but I think that this was just so simple and now its way too complicated and trying to be like real life is wrong. Mike should have gone with the ufc game model. When you reach a certain stat it decreases like on ufc 30/50/70 and it won't decrease past that figure, we could have done that here Feeble/Superb/Wonderful Just a thought. I'm a simple guy really, who likes simple things. I just feel sorry these changes have made it way too much for me to think about even at my level.

  40. Dude Jacky in this game is like Anderson Silva in MMA but you are like Peter Rise so dont insult him! And i think its Boxing because its very limited and fast to train up but at the same time very dominating of course you need good takedown defence but if you have that then its lethal.
