  1. Give each fighter a box where he can set how often he hopes to fight. Some guys will fight every week if you can let them, some would prefer 4-5 weeks off between, with over 200 fighters in my org, it is very cumbersome to keep track of right now. If they had a drop down box with X number of choices (weekly, 2 weeks, 3 weeks, 4 weeks, 5+ weeks) etc. And put this on our Fighter List + page.

  2. Someone brought up a solid idea. Currently, I believe when someone is caught with multi's, they get them all banned, correct? Well I think maybe in the future, leave the main account (if there is an obvious one), and put some giant red text somewhere on the profile that says "Cheating Bastard", so we all know. This way here, if he still wants to play and pay Mike money, we don't lose a manager, but he will carry shame with him.

  3. One important (and realistic) aspect off MMA that this game has overlooked is a fighter's corner. I think cornering should work like this: A fighter can either hire a generated cornerman the same way a gym hires coaches for a fixed fee per fight, or hire another fighter to be his cornerman for a negotiable fee. Fighters with a cornerman will receive a single primary stat bonus between rounds during the fight. A cornerman can only give so much advice after all, and they can't teach proper technique on the fly so secondaries wouldn't be affected. The bonus will be randomly generated but lean toward the cornerman's strengths. For example, a cornerman with Wonderful Boxing will tend to give a bonus to a fighters boxing stat. Bonuses will be noticeable but not overwhelming. They will also last through the rest of the fight. A fighter's intelligence attribute should also hold a determining factor on how much of a bonus he gets. Like everything else in the game, randomness will occasionally cause a fighter to get a much larger or smaller bonus than he deserves. Bonuses only come into play after the first round. Managers with VIP status should be allowed to see what kind of advice their cornerman gives between rounds. This advice would only be available to the manager. Fighters with no cornerman won't receive any bonus but won't suffer a penalty either. A cornerman must be available at the time of the fight and be in the same place. Here are the benefits of cornering: 1. Like in real life, the outcome of a close fight could be determined by the quality (or lack thereof) of a fighter's corner. 2. Fighters in between fights can make money through cornering, or even be created for the sole purpose of cornering. 3. Retired fighters would have a way to make money and continue to contribute to a manager's success. 4. New economies based on cornering could emerge, making the game deeper. 5. Cornering would strengthen communication between managers. There's probably much more that needs to be worked out, but that's the general idea.

  4. instead of just having one big jumbled list of gyms where the ones towards the top are the only ones that ever get any play from ppl. why not divide them up into sections. for instance, you could do it by pricing. $600, $500, $400, etc. by doing it that way, you enable ppl to have a little better perspective of what is actually out there. plus, it would glorify all different levels of gyms. not just the $600 gyms. also, on a side note, the gym ordering should also be broken down by fighter to coach ratio. the lower the fighter to coach ratio the higher on the list you should be. because the lower the ratio means the less filled that your gym is. which in turn means the more money that you're gym is losing each week. which for public gyms, that's not the goal also, the cap on gym fees should be lifted all together. i challenge anyone to put forth one reason for why no cap on gym fees will hurt the game?

  9. Ferengi Tournament Round 1 Saturday, December 17th The Underground - Las Vegas (Fight Preview) Here we go again fight fans! This time, TAKEdown BREAKdown is covering two upcoming events in the Ganbatte Fight League as they are hosting their first back-to-back event this coming weekend. As always, *Salutes* “Krimzn” Guns McKenzie here with you today and I know I'm excited about these events. The first event headlines an undeafeated Lightweight fighter at 3 wins, all of them by way of knockout. Ichiro “War Machine” Takahashi is making his GFL debut against the American boxer, Danny “Blade Runner” Bongderson! This event will also feature the Ferengi Alliance's first ever alliance tournament! This will be hosted for the first time outside of the org's native Tokyo in the capital of MMA, Las Vegas, Nevada! Pack your bags because you're in for a real treat! Our second event features two of the top Light Heavyweights in the division. Jacob Stone will be taking on Bucky Pluto in what I believe will be an incredibly explosive battle. There are bound to be knockouts (and tons of it) this weekend. Let's get to the rules of the cage! Judges will be scoring the fight. The bouts are three, five minute rounds and championship bouts are three, ten minute rounds. A ten point must scoring system is in effect with the round winner getting ten points and his opponent, nine or less. Match 1 Onto the Ferengi Tournament matchups. The first fight of the night features Heavyweight fighters, Johnny "Bukkake" Bo (1-8) [0-1 GFL] in his second GFL fight against newcomer Piotr "Nowy" Nowak (0-0) [0-0 GFL]! This fight will be Bo's 10th professional fight. He hasn't had too much luck in the cage but his love for the sport is incredible! Most fighters would've retired with a couple of consecutive losses but his persistance is amazing! He has great striking ability but he needs to utilize it in a more effective manner. His opponent is probably going to be looking to use that superior Jiu-Jitsu in order to secure his first win so Bo has to slap his legs with some kicks to limit Nowak's explosiveness. Otherwise, the fight will hit the mat for sure. I'm seriously rooting for a second win from Bo. But my heart and my head are conflicting because my head is telling me Nowak will win this one. I'll go with my heart! Prediction: Johnny "Bukkake" Bo via Decision (Rd. 3) Match 2 Into the Lightweight division we go with both fighters making their professional MMA debut! A ground grappler from Denmark, Dumme Fjas (0-0) [0-0 GFL] taking on Markus Svend (0-0) [0-0 GFL]! Fjas is an elite level grappler with a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. He'll be immediately trying to get the takedown because he doesn't want to stand up and trade with Svend's boxing skill. If Svend wants any chance of winning this, he'll have to knock Fjas out and fast while his energy is high. But first fight jitters might get in the way and prevent that from happening. Really tough to call but I think Fjas will manage to bring the fight down and submit Svend. Prediction: Dumme Fjas via Submission (Rd. 1) Match 3 The first match in the alliance tournament has Kung "The Tiger" Pao (0-0) [0 Points] going head to head against the Brit, Charles Gill (0-0) [0 Points]! Pao is a Muay Thai fighter and he'll be looking to grab a knockout here against Gill. Gill should probably try to get this fight to the ground. I wouldn't recommend pulling guard though because he might get submitted himself. But this is a great matchup. Tough to say who'll win but I'm going with Pao on this one. Prediction: Kung "The Tiger" Pao via KO (Rd. 1) Match 4 "Amazing" Adam Brooks (0-0) [0 Points] is going to be looking for a win in this tournament against Carl "Raptor" Rickson (0-0) [0 Points]! Rickson is a great wrestler but he's going up against a purple belt jiu-jitsu fighter. He'll have to keep the fight standing if he wants any chance of winning this. His opponent is an incredible boxer and will be looking to use that boxing to knockdown Rickson and go in for the submission. Hard to say who'll win this match but considering I'm managing Rickson, I'm going with my fighter. Prediction: Carl "Raptor" Rickson via Decision (Rd. 3) Match 5 The third match of the tournament has "The Evil Clown" Ronald McDonald (0-0) [0 Points] taking on "The Prez" Barry Obama (0-0) [0 Points]! http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/42/42w34.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/15/15b16.jpg McDonald should probably use that dominant grappling ability in order to get a submission win here. If not, he'll get outclassed in the standup and possibly knocked out. Obama should be running a country but since he's here fighting, he needs to keep his distance and stay out of range of the takedown attempts. Prediction: "The Prez" Ronald McDonald via Decision (Rd. 3) Match 6 A wrestler from California, Dark Shadows (0-0) [0 Points] is going to be looking for a win and advancement in the tournament against the brown belt BJJ fighter, "Crunch" Nick Bonino (0-0) [0 Points]! http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/34/34b2.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/43/43b12.jpg From what I understand, these two fighters decided to join a different alliance so their fight doesn't matter to me but if I had to choose a winner, I'd pick Bonino because of his superior grappling. Even if he gets taken down by Shadows, Bonino will still be able to work off his back and possibly gain a submission. Prediction: "Crunch" Nick Bonino via Submission (Rd. 2) Match 7 The final matchup in the tournament tonight as "Mr." Satan Hurcule (0-0) [0 Points] will take on Whodis Be (0-0) [0 Points]! http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/11/11w9.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/42/42w2.jpg This should be a fun match. Both guys are relatively even in boxing. Both guys are roughly the same height and weight. We'll probably see a great battle that will most likely result in a knockout. I wonder who but if I had to choose, I'd go with Hurcule. He has a bit of a wrestling advantage and might even be looking to take it to the ground. That's why this is MMA and not boxing. Prediction: "Mr." Satan Hurcule via (T)KO (Rd. 2) Co-Main Event We've reached the co-main event of the night and this Middleweight matchup features "Zap" Shovita Teteku (0-0) [0-0 GFL] making his debut against Mark "The Filipino Wrecking " Munoz (0-1) [0-0 GFL]! http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/29/29w20.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/22/22b22.jpg Teteku is a kickboxer who wants to enter the MMA world with a win against Munoz. His needs to use damaging leg kicks and body kicks to keep Munoz from getting the takedown. Munoz needs to mix up his strikes and throw lots of body shots and maybe try for takedowns to win this. Overall, this is a great matchup and it'll come down to the better gameplan but considering that is an unknown variable, I'm going to go with Mark Munoz on this one. Prediction: Mark "The Filipino Wrecking " Munoz via (T)KO (Rd. 1) Main Event Our main event of the night! In the Lightweight Division we go with undeafeated fighter, Ichiro "War Machine" Takahashi (3-0) [0-0 GFL] taking on Danny "Blade Runner" Bongderson (2-2) [0-0 GFL]! http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/33/33b4.jpg http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/30/30w27.jpg Bongderson is coming into this as a big underdog. His opponent has all first round knockout victories and doesn't look like he's slowing down. Bongderson needs to throw a lot of strikes and mix it up and possibly go for takedowns. Takahashi has all the necessary tools to win this fight and he needs to set up a good gameplan in order to maximize his efforts. Bongderson has great counter fighting skills and should use it in order to pull off a victory. As long as he stays out of the clinch, he should be able to stand his own. But Bongderson should do what he can to get the fight to the ground. Otherwise, he'll get dominated. Let's see if Bongderson can make it out of the first round. Prediction: Ichiro "War Machine" Takahashi via (T)KO (Rd. 2) That's all the fights for the Ferengi Tournament Round 1 event. Stay tuned for the next event right after these messages.

If people want to turn this into a game about who wants to spend the most real life money, that is fine with me- but lets just do it, because if your doing it now your a pathetic punk, bitch cheater

  13. i'm voiceless , it's really a shame to see that. Ckellprun called out everyone as a multi, i was a bit pissed when he called me a multi, or when he said BS on me cause i sacked a 25yo fighters. Now it's more than obvious that guy is multi, i don't know you but if i had a "brothers" playing this game i wouldn't give him defeats. It's really depressing to see cheaters call some BS on you when u play the game fair. I think ckelpprun and the others guy who took free agents to get some fake wins should be put away from the rankings and write a big CHEATERS or MULTI on their profile in red or any others color. It's more than obvs they cheated on purpose (especially the second guy), don't think they should be banned or forgive, at least they will keep playing and give money to mike lol. What's the point to play a game when every others players have multi? pfff maybe i should ask my sister if she doesn't want play mmatycoon (she doesn't even know mma).

  15. I've preached this since the "early release fighter" came out, sounds like a fair trade imho if someone wants to use their VIP days to reset a fighters aptitude it shouldnt be too hard to get in the game from Mike's side of things, and would only benefit the funding of Tycoon.

  19. Here's a loooong ass post about adding depth & atmosphere to the game while also tackling the money sink & retirement issues by turning fighters into livelier and more autonomous entities. It could have been even longer, but I didn't want to spend a huge amount of time on details if it turns out that I'm the only one who would like to see those things. So here's a "shorter" version (still much longer than most posts ) with some of my ideas and we can all contribute more if enough of the community shares my sentiments. In short, fighters wouldn't be mindless drones anymore, would do some things outside of the octagon without player interaction and their money & retirement wouldn't be solely in the hands of the manager anymore. Firstly, the reasoning & inspiration behind my ideas - you might not like the ideas themselves, but maybe you'll contribute your own when you see where I'm coming from. Anyway...When I started playing, I obviously didn't know what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised by the attention that many of you paid to the fighters & the game world outside of the octagon - I'm talking custom skins, fighter interviews, event reviews & previews, talk about popular fighters in the forums, the that inspired Mike to make the upcoming newspapers and so on. Post fight interviews and a message I received from my fighter about him going to a charity event & gaining some popularity because of it are only telling me that both the community and the developer might be opened for this kind of thing, so here's what I've been thinking about for the last couple of days... Managing Nick Diaz, BJ Penn, Overeem and Rampage If this was the real world, fighters would have certain needs and managers would have certain responsibilities and boundaries. Nick Diaz is bitching about all the nice houses he has to jog around, but can't afford ( , kind of funny ), BJ Penn retired because he doesn't want his young daughter looking at his busted face, Overeem left & is suing his former management over finances and Rampage wants to make movies. Translated to the world of MMA Tycoon, it could look something like this: 1. Fighter's Finances - codename: Diaz & The Reem Primary practical benefit: money sink Secondary benefit: fun (imagine your best fighter informing you that he just bought a Hummer and demands the money that's missing from his account ) Potential penalty: low morale, manager losing hype, fighter leaves & becomes a free agent (extreme case) As a fighter climbs through the ranks, he expects to get more money and a better lifestyle. Also, his money is primarily HIS, and should be kept away from the manager. New players wouldn't even notice it, but the ones with a number of wins behind them would be forced to leave a certain amount of money in the fighter's account. A similar idea was already mentioned and could be used as a starting point. Fail to comply and at first your fighter will lose morale, then you'll lose hype as a result of his complaining in the media and finally, he'll leave you. Additionally, the money wouldn't stay in the fighter's account (as he would expect that a certain amount of money belongs to him and is available for spending) but would be spent on various items by the fighters themselves, according to their status and without player interaction. On a fighters page, you could have a list of personal news & possessions (kind of like trophies) which would list all the lifestyle news (mentioned below) and possessions - art collections, new Porsche, loans for yachts etc. (housing would fit in perfectly, but I know it's already in development). The more the merrier, but they would all basically mean the same thing - always keep a part of the fighter's money for himself or be ready to provide it once he finds out there's not enough in his account for whatever and complains to you. It would work as a good, realistic money sink and could create an interesting timeline/story which shows each fighter's path from a poor nobody to a rich & celebrated superstar. Which brings us to the next idea: 2. Fighter's Lifestyles Primary practical benefit: money sink, retiring the old gods Not only would they be buying things, but they'd also have a "life" outside of the gym as well, based on various interests and family status 2.1 Family Status - codename: BJ After a certain age (21 ?), a hidden stat could start kicking in every now and then, determining if a fighter gets engaged and, after another random period, break of the engagement or get married. Both engagement and marriage could provide a temporary morale boosts and breaking the engagement would make him spend some money in Las Vegas or Amsterdam With a bit of creative writing, it could also provide lots of funny little stories. Apart from that, there would be no short term impact on the game, BUT would be an indicator that he might start getting less interested in fighting in the future. So it would go something like 1. engagement (morale boost, a sign of things to come), 2. marriage (announced some time ahead; morale boost, costs more to change base, cost of living goes up), 3. children (morale boost, cost of life goes up, each child gives "considering retirement" boost). 2.2 Other Interests - codename: Rampage Some want to fight forever (Randy, Hendo), some want to become movie stars by the time they're 35 (Rampage) and others may want to open their own gyms, restaurants or just take long walks on the beach every day. Or whatever, South Park style . First they start hinting at it, then they mention it a bit more often and when the time comes (all of it based on a hidden stat and combined with family status), they announce their departure from active fighting in order to do other things. It warns you in time to give them a few more fights & start preparing new future champs and gives you enough time to get angry, annoyed and then finally accept the inevitable and enjoy the overall success & legacy of your creation (bringing a fighter to a rich retirement & with a good record could be an awesome longterm goal, worthy of it's own rankings). It also creates fun opportunities for various "farewell fights" events if the fighter was significant enough, kind of like if Cro Cop fought Big Nog before he retired... As I mentioned in the beginning, the ideas could go on and on, but since this should be a "shorter" version, I'll stop now and wait to see if anyone else likes the concept or if it's too sim-like for mmatycoon community
    1 point
  20. I don't really like all this randomness. The game is already very random. I could like this idea if cornermen gave only one single, small and NON-VARIABLE bonus, anything else makes fights too random, confusing, etc. You would never be able to research through a fighter's record and have a clear idea of what happened, etc. It would become a mess.
    1 point
  21. I have often thought/suggested that adding cornermen in the form of "purchasing" a coach in your gym would add this realistic improvement while also providing another method for gyms to generate profit.

  25. I couldn't agree more! I sincerely doubt there are more than 500 real people playing this game, and I for one would rather have 10000 managers, even though 9500 were "multiples" of the RL 500. I am well aware that some of you who are dumping on Chris, are multies yourself, but are busy at diverting attention from your own shit by dumping on him. But, i am a smoker, not a squealer, so I'm not naming any names. Edit*,, Out of all the managers on Tycoon i've not met outside the game, Chris Keppelrun is one of those i respect the most, as he is a good dude and is good for the game whether he is a multie or not,, Personally i think he's not a multie,, but could care less either way, as he has been very very good for the game! Out of the "older" managers, he is one of the absolute nicest. This game needs more "Chris Keppelrun more nice guys" type of managers and less arseholes jumping on anyone saying anything the arseholes don't like, at that point in time.

  26. Here's what I wonder; Did Joseph believe Maria when she told him that she got pregnant without having sex or did he think that it was a lame excuse for infidelity like we all would've? Was Jesus gay? And if not, why were all the apostles men? It couldn't have hurt to put a few women in there. How many sexual partners did Jesus have and was missionary his favorite position?

  29. Alistair Overeem was just 23 years old, a light heavyweight wielding a big wooden hammer before every fight as “The Demolition Man.†But even then, as a 16-3 prospect on the rise getting ready to face Chuck Liddell in PRIDE’s 2003 205-pound Grand Prix, his philosophy on fighting was one he carries with him to the present day. “To win a fight is awesome on its own, but to finish a fight before the official time limit by way of KO is indescribable,†he said back then. “I’m a true believer that a fight can be decided by one punch, one kick or one knee. You just have to be patient, wait for that right moment and of course have the abilities to do so.†Over eight years since that comment, Overeem has gone on to move to the heavyweight division, win the Strikeforce and Dream heavyweight titles in MMA and the 2010 K-1 World Grand Prix in kickboxing, and on December 30th, he will make his UFC debut against Brock Lesnar in the main event of UFC 141. Here are five of his greatest hits... Vitor Belfort I – April 23, 2005 – PRIDE Total Elimination 2005 Result – Overeem Wsub1 Following a knockout loss to Liddell in 2003, Overeem won two fights outside of PRIDE before returning to the promotion in 2004 with a TKO of Hiromitsu Kanehara. Four months later, he would drop a decision to Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, putting his PRIDE slate at 3-2 and making him the perfect foil for the return of Vitor Belfort, who was fresh off a five fight stint in the UFC in which he won and lost the light heavyweight title against Randy Couture. Overeem didn’t play along though, and he was far from rattled by the level of opposition or the magnitude of the fight. Instead, he showed off solid striking, good defense off his back, and after rocking “The Phenom†with a knee, he fired off a series of ground strikes before sinking in a guillotine choke and forcing a tap out. Badr Hari I – December 31, 2008 – Dynamite 2008 Result – Overeem KO1 Having periodically dabbled in kickboxing since 1999, Overeem began to take it more seriously in the latter part of the last decade, and his first major bout in that realm of combat sports was against one of the most feared men in the game, Badr Hari. And if you want to talk about statement making wins, this was it. Confident from the start, Overeem sent Hari down for the first time with a lightning fast left knee followed by a short left hook that you will miss if you blink. Hari made it back to his feet, but a second left hook finished him off, and now Overeem wasn’t just dangerous in MMA, he was about to make some serious noise in kickboxing. Brett Rogers – May 15, 2010 – Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery Result – Overeem TKO1 Despite Overeem’s wins over top-notch talents like Belfort, after three consecutive PRIDE losses to Nogueira, Ricardo Arona, and Mauricio “Shogun†Rua, it was clear that for him to truly make a mark in MMA, he would have to do it as a heavyweight. In 2007, he made the full-time move to life among the big men, and celebrated in November of that year by defeating Paul Buentello for the first Strikeforce heavyweight title. That San Jose bout was the last Stateside fans saw him in for two and a half years, so when he came back to face Brett Rogers in St. Louis, expectations were high, especially since the raw but heavy handed Rogers gave Fedor Emelianenko a solid fight before getting finished in the second round. Rogers wouldn’t be so lucky against Overeem, who needed just 3:40 to send “The Grim†packing. Now the speculation would begin in earnest about how Overeem would fare in the UFC. Peter Aerts II – December 11, 2010 – K-1 World Grand Prix 2010 Final Result – Overeem KO1 A month before the Rogers bout, Overeem put all his cards on the table and began a journey not many believed he could complete – competing in and winning the prestigious K-1 World Grand Prix. Yet by December, wins over Dzevad Poturak and Ben Edwards landed him in the final leg of the tournament. To win, Overeem would have to win three times in one night, and amazingly he did just that, decisioning Tyron Spong, halting Gokhan Saki, and then capping off this unlikely run with a 67 second stoppage of kickboxing legend Peter Aerts. Todd Duffee – December 31, 2010 – Dynamite 2010 Result – Overeem KO1 You figure three K-1 fights in one night would have earned Overeem a nice holiday break. Uh-uh. Instead, he accepted a New Year’s Eve bout against UFC vet Todd Duffee for the Dream heavyweight crown. He described his December to remember earlier this year before his Strikeforce win over Fabricio Werdum. “We fought in the final 16 in October, came back home, took a week off to recover, then we went back to Japan in November to do a media tour, which was like 10 days,†said Overeem. “Then we went back home, before going to Thailand for a two week training camp, then from Thailand to Japan for the K-1 finals, won three fights, and then there was a lot of media stuff afterward, a lot of television shows. Then a new opportunity came to fight for the Dream heavyweight title and we grabbed it with both hands. That was December 31. I was gone for six weeks, I came home with two belts, four fights, and a lot of new experience.†Yeah, he won that fight with Duffee, needing only 19 seconds to do so. Now Overeem will be bringing his punches, knees, and an underrated submission game (19 of 35 wins have come via tapout) to the UFC. It’s going to be quite an experience. View the full article

  32. This is the original 1 fight / week org. We came up with the idea after reading posts about some people with old great fighters felt that tickers where a pain in the xxx. So we thought why not smash 2 flies in 1 blow. No ticker problem and a lot of fights. Another great thing is that if you are new in to the game you could sign a great FA list old guy and use him to fight once a week. That would give you enough money to put all your other fighters in the greatest 600$ public gyms. Berserkers Champions League is the most Violent and Savage org in MMATycoon. Super fast fights 1 fight per week guaranteed! Crazy aggressive fighters that Finishes their fights are favored in BCL. No training is needed as the old and complete fighters train slow and have trouble maintaining skills. Fighting could even slightly increase your skills. Ok join up and "LETS GET IT ON" fight! Great contracts and really fast fights. Pm me and I will set you up for a fight within the week. http://www.mmatycoon.com/orgpublic.php?oid=2948 Join up for the fastest action in mmatycoon! preferably heavy weights and super heavy weights since those two are the most stacked divisions. 33. Why aren't they figured into the ground game? They should have a factor. Punches, elbows, and knees make up a huge part of ground and pound, but aren't required in the game. Kicks, in my opinion, should factor into knees on the ground. Anyways, having high elbows and knees should factor into GnP. Also, maybe there should be a slider involving this on GnP. Just curious of other opinions. If this should be in improvements/suggestions, move it there.

  34. That would give you enough money to pu all your other fighters in the greatest 600$ public gyms. Berserkers Champions League is the most Violent and Savage org in MMATycoon. Super fast fights 1 fight per week guaranteed! Crazy aggressive fighters that Finishes their fights are favored in BCL. No training is needed as the old and complete fighters train slow and have trouble maintaing skills.
