  1. People feel that the actual ability to land a TD via countering is too easy. I don't feel that's the case at all, personally. In fact, I feel the ability to choose how you counter has made fighting much more diverse. It's not just a stand up battle for every fight at higher levels now, which is great. Nor are TD's so overpowered that every fight is being decided by ground offense. Fighters should have some ability on the ground, which logically irks people with established strikers.

  2. Oh, for God's sakes, don't make it any easier to get up off the ground. At least if you do, you've got to tune down ref stand ups.

  5. MMA, especially as young sport, but every sport in general, means standing on shoulders of giants. The Fedors, the Jacksons, the Filipovics, the Penns, the Silvas, hell even the Ortizs... they dominated to their time and their success stories build the foundation and the great knowledge (coaches/gyms/training methods) nowadays young and hungry fighters profit of. Also, money means higher talent comes toi the sport obv. We surely can talk about one of them being overrated to their time, but compare them now to the next generation and draw the conclusion from that is kinda unfair imo. Especially in such physical sport which does much damage tot he body. With that in mind, i also do not share the sadness of some people who see their former heroes struggle in their late career... just gotta be realistic - they still have the fire, they still can make good money, i don't think it takes anything away from their archievements and status. The only thing i fear at this point is seeing the first MMA fighters in "real" retirement age, many scaring examples there from boxing (refering to state of health and longterm consequences of their sport).

  10. Stu is correct - Mike covered this in quite some detail recently in another thread. The fight engine simply doesn't deal with counters the way most people thought. Interesting to note that an increasing number of people are now coming to the conclusion that counter TDs are overpowered. When I was the first to raise this very soon after the latest changes were made I was mocked...

  11. go 100% counter td. 60-70% counter and 65%-75% acc. Its what i did with Crassus. I landed a TD near enough every round against Otso. Who clearly had the better stats primes and also i am pretty sure was acc in that fight. yet i was able to counter him and when i did it was a takedown. Works every single time unless the person goes 100% counter so you cannot counter them. So yeah it is pretty damn easy. it should zap energy. It should be treated the same if someone goes 100% damage with a swing. Because that one TD more often that not will win you that round. Even if you get the stand up. You would have to go pretty high aggro damage just to land enough shots in the time remaining to actually win the round. If you go aggro damage against someone set up with those sliders above your ass is gonna be on the mat. I had never changed Crassus counter and acc at all in any fights. Against Batts a guy with a lot weaker wrestling i landed 1 counter takedown pre changes. I landed 0 against Perry. 0 against Gambler. None of them had the wrestling etc that Otso had. In the Otso fight i landed 4 counter TD's. Thats more than prolly in total of all of Crassus fights. If that is not overpowered i really dunno what is. Worst part is that Crassus was badly gassed in the 4th round and never landed any because he barely moved and was in the clinch and the next round i was getting hit with shots again prolly down to 0 energy and landed a god damn counter td. They are only one way out of it and thats 100% counter and hope you either land a big shot or judges fuck up some how. Its pretty much gonna be the same shit over and over and over again. No diversity. If you want to win this is how. If you want to try and stop it this is how and best of all the way to stop it prolly won't work because you are so high acc and counter that you will throw 10-14 shots per round and land every single one because going counter does not give your guy a defence boost. If it does then that Danza fight takes a lot of explaining considering how high counter i was and how high damage Valentine was. No way he lands that many shots against a double elite with all elite striking. One other thing. He landed 5 counter tds to my 5 counter strikes. I was throwing 58% damage and was pretty damn heavy on the counter. How about since you helped the grapplers so much you put in a stance. How about throwing in an Anderson Silva stance. You know when you keep your hands down to block the takedown but will each a shot or two. A normal stance in which it is the same as just now or a striking stance in which you have your hands held high and block better punches but your tdd falls. Only seems fair since they are only one way really to stop the counter tds. Otherwise as above you are gonna get put flat on your back no matter what the hell you do. To answer your question Soyster Crassus was never 100% counter in any of his fights. His sliders are as above. I went 100% counter td for the Otso fight but all the rest of his sliders remained the same.

  12. Think the first thing you should be doing is not giving out high bonus's to managers that are 1 week into the game as many quit when the find out the game isn't fast paced. If you do fights fairly quickly maybe add the bonus into the fight pay. Just a thought However on the flip side, they do need money to train so I think you have to balance it out with signing bonus's and to attach people to your org

  13. SPFT 121: Pre PPV Summary written by Furious Styles Hello again ladies and gentlemen! Once again Steel Penn ICON invades the Los Angeles Coliseum for another night of action packed MMA that promises to write another page in fight history! There are TWO titles on the line tonight in what should be tremendous battles between the champions and their challengers! The 265 lbs. title is being defended by Ernesto Oliveira, who brings his outstanding 28-9 record to the table while representing The Goonies! His opponent, “The Torpedo” Tore Rebo brings an impressive 24-12 record to the table and represents the Polish Eagles’ Nest, although he’s Canadian. Hey, he’s got it like that so just roll with it! Rebo is the taller fighter but the champ is a bit heavier. Who will be able to impose their will on their large, very strong opponent!? Oliveira is riding a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK, most recently defeating Willy Stoppers at the SPFT 117 Event! Rebo is bringing in his own FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK so this will undoubtedly be two rams butting heads! Don’t miss this fight! The 205 lbs. title is on the line and the champ, A J Hearts, representing the Steel Penn Alliance - whoo whooooo (imagine the Hump Day Geico Commercial) - a VERY popular and capable fighter, brings an extremely impressive 22-3 record into this fight while riding a FIVE FIGHT WIN STREAK, stands across the cage from Leonard Washington, a man who has earned a 22-9 record and comes into this title fight with a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Washington represents the FinnFighters but is from Missouri. Hey, I do not get paid to think, just write, so there it is! Will Leonard do what the last five fighters have not been able to do and overcome the skill and large heart of the champion!? Which one of these great warriors will have to begin a winning streak anew!? We shall soon find out! The second 265 lbs. fight: “Lucky” Elroy Kleinschmidt, whose record is 13-7 and is on a dire FOUR FIGHT LOSING STREAK, steps into the Octagon against Bigfoot “Eeti” Silva, who is currently 22-13 and recently suffered a TKO LOSS! Both men look to turn the tide in this fight and that will be no easy task as either of these large men can finish the fight if and when the opportunity presents itself! Can “Lucky” indeed be just that and find the Lady Luck that has eluded him in the last four fights, or will “Eeti” - isn’t that an electronics software of some kind or a skier? - take a step in the right direction - aw come on, stop groaning because you know you thought about the Bigfoot reference too - and get back on the winning side of things? Time will tell! Our first of two 170 lbs. fights features Julio Driggs, who steps into battle with a 21-12 record and recently suffered a second round KO loss, against Avon “The Finger” Stringer - I am not even going to go there because that is just TOO easy - who is 38-19 and on a TWO LOSS FIGHT STREAK! Both of these men have obviously had their ups and downs but both are capable in the cage and this may very well boil down to who has the stronger desire to overcome the opponent! One has to wonder if “The Finger” wins, will he be extending that special digit to anyone in particular, or just extend it in general because that is what he enjoys? I just hope our TV editors are quick on the draw! The other 205 lbs. fight pits the man with the biblical name, Moses Kealekapuna, against “God’s Spear” Ansger Axelsson! Now folks, I will not get heavily into religious beliefs because that could very well be seen as blasphemous, but I find it rather…interesting, that Moses is battling “God’s Spear”! The biblical references will be plenty, I have no doubt. Will Moses part the Sea of Loss and go back on a winning streak, or will “God’s Spear” pierce the armor of Moses and continue his winning ways, building the momentum from a recent third round KO win!? Moses “Let My People Go” - yes I wrote it and do not act like you did not at least ponder it - enters this battle with a very good 24-6 record but recently suffered a Unanimous Decision loss. “God’s Spear” Ansger Axelsson has an equally very good 16-4 record with the recent KO victory previous mentioned. I wonder how many Hail Mary’s will be said while these men make their way to the ring…? In the sole 185 lbs. fight of the night, “Polar Bear” Vadim Kharghai, who has fought his way to a 23-15 record with a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK, pits his will and skill versus Gage “Dominator” R, who is currently 24-14-2, recently having lost a Unanimous Decision! Gage, not be mistaken with “Terminator”, feels he should have been more aggressive in his last fight and may very well look to end this fight early! “Polar Bear” is definitely looking to end his cold streak - look folks, I just write with the flow all right, so stop the eye rolling and let me have my fun - and once again clench victory in his jaws! There is no doubt Vadim is feeling very irritated by his recent performances and wants to make a statement tonight against Gage. Which of these men will get it done!? The first 155 lbs. fight features El Guapo - now I assume this is a matter of opinion as I am certain there are some women who think he is handsome with his wild, busy, unkempt hair, but others maybe not as much. Oh yes, for those who do not know, guapo means “handsome” in Spanish. You see? Learn something new every day - brings a 17-12 record and a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK, battles “Nutcase” Hector Kilimanjaro who stands 20-15-2 with a recent KO loss by way of a head kick in the first round! Now it is this writer’s opinion that kicking a guy whose nickname is “Nutcase” in the head probably does not make much difference really, but hey, that is just my opinion. Very much like “The Finger”, I could write various comments about the nickname “Nutcase” but it is too easy and I will not take it there! Can the “Handsome One” stretch his winning streak to three, or will “Looney Tunes” Kilimanjaro - now tell me that does not sound like an exotic food spice - get himself on the positive side of the winning column!? In the final 265+ lbs. fight, the behemoth known as Cain “The Juggernaut” Marko, another Steel Penn Alliance member - whooo whooooo, that is right, the Geico commercial surfaces again. Hey, this writer is a member of the Steel Penn Alliance so I can do that! I am unbiased but I just make sure fellow Steel Penners get some love is all - brings his 17-13 record and TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK, both by KO, against the man named Rumble Lord - who could possibly be a Boss in one of many video games with that name - and his 14-12 record. Rumble Lord has struggled recently with a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK so he is looking to rumble rather than tumble - all right, that one was bad, I admit it - against Cain - and I know I could tie in this biblical name to the Moses versus “God’s Spear” fight but I will save you the trouble by not comparing Rumble to Abel – so stay tuned for this battle of two very large men! The final 155 lbs. fight brings us Guy Kopec and his 12-10 record with a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK, having just lost to El Guapo - that makes me wonder if Guy will give “Nutcase” any advice for his fight - against Rocco Kailea and his 7-3-1 record, who just had a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED! Rocco - that is a great character in the movie “The Boondock Saints” by the way - will definitely look to shed that tough recent loss as he absolutely feels he should have won that fight! Guy - a great music group from the 80’s but that is another story - has been attempting to put a win streak together for some time. Will he be able to get that done tonight, or will Kailea right the ship!? And the final fight of the night gives us Gabriel Kiptanui, who is 18-16-1 heading into this fight with a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK, stepping into battle against Nik Volkov who is 20-12-1 with a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Nik Volkov - I wonder if he is of any relation to the wrestler Nikolai Volkoff, who had a great run back in the day - has a better record on paper, but in the cage that often times does not matter. Both men have had their shining moments in their fights so do not count them out of this contest at any point in time! For Kiptanui, this may be a battle for pride. For Volkov, this is an opportunity to prove he can best a veteran fighter and perhaps move himself into title contention in the near future! Remember ladies and gentlemen, you can only find out the answers to these questions by joining us for this Pay-Per-View Event! The Coliseum will be rockin’, that is a guarantee, so be sure to either join us live and in person or gather with friends and family and enjoy the Pay-Per-View in the comfort of your home! 15. Basically there is no penalty energy wise for 100% counter TD over 10% or whatever counter TD, obvious a missed counter TD should zap more energy then a missed counter strike. That is where the problem is in my opinion, there is no penalty or downfall to going 100% counter TD.

  16. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/16/16w18.jpg Excerpts from Sex Hair's Interview with Hot Male Review: - on his cut to 155 and his drug problems: "I was too young when I won the title in MIFC. After I won the gold i'd gone full retard. I never was the type to say no to drugs, but before the title win I wasn't using heavily anymore, but after that I developed a nasty habit, meth, heroin, crack you name it I used it. I even lost my passion for music, i do this fighting shit to finance my music. But don't get me wrong I like this sport. So I was at the bottom getting knocked the fuck out in my fights while being totally fucked up on drugs all the time not giving a shit. But then my man Jean put the kibosh on it and put my ass in rehab. By that time I lost a lot of weight, you can talk a lot of shit about drugs but fat bitches take notes, shit gets you slim in no time. So I started training again, making music again and shit started to look brighter every day." - on his popularity and goals: "I'm not sure if I will ever hold gold again but I will always go all in. I'm not the most gifted one but I got heart and some serious power. That's why I'm probably the most popular fighter at 155 in IMMA." - on his next fight and IMMA: "I really want to thank IMMA for giving me a chance and helping building me back up... ... I really respect "The Terror", retarded nickname aside, as a fighter, he's very skilled, but he better come prepared or I will seriously fuck his shit up, ask those other dudes. But on a personal level dude rubs me the wrong way, he's all pretty and quite my type but I would never give him the "sex hair", because dude is a serious douche for real, arrogant as fuck. I wanked hard to that shampoo comercial he did, I'm not gonna lie, but dude's attitude is an absolute turn off. But maybe after the fight when I've adjusted his attitude..."

  17. I agree it is easy enough to force a stand up, unless you are completely outclassed on the ground. In that case you couldn't escape anyway. I do think the takedowns are a little strong. Not sure what would be best; to hit energy more for missed ones, or just make them a little harder to land? I don't see how the energy hit would work, if they are countering with takedowns and not shooting all the time.

  25. Mike can you confirm or not that going 100% counter td does sap your energy with missed counter tds? and that tds take more than 0.1% of your energy? Its just i noticed it in my fight tonight but its been happening an awful lot where going 100% counter td means you land a td per round and basically win the fight. Only way around it is by going 100% counter so they cannot counter TD you and well that shit just isn't fun at all. I know counter td's are there to make it fairer for the grapplers but as you alerted to you have overpowered it. Its at the stage now where the only way to stop it is going back to the counter era and even then chances are you are gonna get taken down if they have td's in there gameplan. Either turn it down or make a bigger % of energy sapped for unsuccessful tds and unsuccessful counter tds. at least give strikers a chance to keep the fight standing. http://mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=573975 http://mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=578979 http://mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=568050 Just a couple of times where the person has went 100% counter td. I am sure they are many more cases of it but the fights been stopped in the first round. It just gets frustrating knowing the only way to beat it is 100% counter and makes fights not very interesting to read. May sound like a rant because i just lost but i made it clear when i first noticed it to alliance mates just now i feel like commenting on it because its happened to me. Surprised they aren't a lot of complaints made about it. I know exactly why i lost. He went 100% counter td. I never went 100% counter. I only managed to block 6 out of 14 of the tds. Only one of which was not a counter takedown. So yeah if you can take a look into it and maybe see about making it more energy expended on going for counter td's that actually fail or some shit? Because the way it is the now they will land a counter td near enough every round no matter what the skills are. http://mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=547047 I done it against Otso when the engine first started. Apart from when people clinch you do actually land one per round sometimes two. I still lost the fight thankfully cause that would just have felt dirty if i had won. I only done it then because it was one of the first fights of the new engine. Since then i have never used the 100% counter td. maybe i should? but then it just isn't that fun of a idea to shoot for counter td's constantly. Just seems like an exploit.

  29. I'd love to see some different pay options on orgs. Bucko and I run Valhalla Hilo and I get a percentage of every show we do. It's the only way to do it because nobody in their right mind is gonna do matchmaking or recruiting for 5k a week. Sorry but that is just chump change compared to the amount of work that goes into those jobs and how much an average org can make per week. It would be nice if these thing could be done by the system though. Currently Bucko has to remember to actually pay me and he has to do math which is difficult for him if he is also chewing gum at the time. Not to mention the thousands we lose to the system taking a bite out of the transfer. I hired a recruiter for a while but I wasn't satisfied with the amount of contracts going out so I had to let him go. It would be awesome if we could pay someone per contract that they sent out or per person brought in. That way if things are just dry at the time like they often are then we wouldn't be paying for nothing. It would give them more incentive to work on it more often.

Looks to me like you both use or try to use shadow owners to get round the rule of only owning one business, one buys or tries to buy loyalty and the other utilizes existing and established alliances. One's way around the rule failed and cost him 2.5m and the others worked and got him an org. For either party to question the ethics of the other just doesn't wash, because while neither may have multi's both of you are being cheeky chaps. To carry on discussing this is pointless, its dodgy mcdodgy pissed off that another dodgy mcdodgy had a more effective and dastardly plan. To conclude, I have a fighter with the UOC and he can stay there, as a bit of dodgyness is part of real life anyway.
