  1. Spencer Kilco reporting for £4£: The best for MMA News, Views and Reviews I recently met up with London based clothing company Instinct. Too often are brands like this one faceless so I relished the idea of getting to know one of the men behind the company. We met at his office and immediately it hit me how much this company loved MMA. Memorabilia and sponsored fighter shorts and gloves where hung up everywhere. Matt Donovan, along with CEO War Pig, only begin trading at the beginning of this month but already have 118 sponsored fighters and what sounds like a very lucrative partnership with SPI: Helsinki. So what made Donovan want to start a MMA Clothing Brand? “We started Instinct because of pride. When you build something successful, it’s a great feeling. We had a vision, were able to execute it and now can reap the benefits of saying ‘we did this!’” Donovan went on to say that War Pig is a great inspiration for everyone in the company. “He designs all of our clothing. If anyone is looking for a design or avatar be sure to talk to him and I'm sure he could help you out however you need.” If 118 fighters already I asked him how he approached he’s relationship with a newly signed fighter. Donovan was clear it is strictly professional! I guess no time for friends for this young up and coming company. Donovan doesn’t even have favourites “We like all of the fighters we sponsored.” But I pushed him and eventually found out his personal favourite sponsored fighter is Renan St Juste. “Well if I had to choose one then I'd say St Juste because he is a top 10 p4p fighter and the highest hyped fighter that we have sponsored to date.” So what does a Brand look for in a fighter? “I would say the two most important factors we look for are uniqueness, and timing. I’ve seen fighters land clothing/supplement sponsor because they happened to know the right people. We sponsor fighters due to their unique ‘reach’ on social media and ability to market and promote things. I would say that fighters should strive to show their personal uniqueness, whether it be personality or fighting style, so fans are attracted to them. If the fighter attracts attention, they become desirable to us and other sponsors.” There focus on the fighters is what will this company upwards to become one of the best MMA brands around. The true reason for my interview became clear as Donovan announced instincts’ fighter incentive moving forward: “We would like to announce a challenge to our sponsored fighters. It's called the Anderson Silva Instinct Award Challenge. The challenge is for the first fighter, who must be signed by us, to achieve ten successful title defences will receive, two freebies of their choice, a custom trophy and a $150,000 sponsorship out of my own pocket. Good luck! And trust your instincts.” I wish I was a top class fighter now! Oh well. But it will be interesting to see how much this influences Instinct sponsored fighter to train and fighter hard. And how many of them will be motivated to achieve contender status within the coming months. Thank you Donovan for the chat and good luck taking over the world with your brand. I defiantly have three shirts ordered and in the post.

  3. That's right ladies and gentlemen, MMA Hype, the news/interview broadcast channel that everyone loved, is now opening a clothing store in the MMA Tycoon universe. It's a big change for Brett and Jared, the pair who've been really quiet in the past year. In an interview for MMA Entertainment last week, Brett Clarke was asked about him, Jared and MMA Hype, wanting to know what was up. Here's what he had to say: Brett Clarke: The past year has been really crazy for me and Jared. When our contract expired with Ascension, we did some freelance work, but after a while, we just started partying and stopped caring about our work. MMA Hype made us wealthy, and we didn’t handle it properly. Now that our cash flow took a big hit, we decided to invest the remaining of it into a clothing store. I don’t have any more info than that at the moment, but we should be able to announce something official soon. -- -- -- Since nothing official has been announced yet, there’s nothing more to say about the subject, but the project is going forward, since they already bought a place, and posted this on Twitter: http://s9.postimg.org/425gugs8v/jared_tweet.jpg Along with this image: http://thumbs.dreamstime.com/t/shenzhen-china-decoration-construction-clothing-store-baoan-xixiang-commercial-street-house-under-renovation-idle-51965457.jpg

  4. Say i fight someone in my second fight then i win. And now i have a rematch against the same guy in my seventh fight. Obviously I've changed the tactics around in between and won't remember them. So i think we should be able to see the tactics we set from all our fights. It could help when you win or lose, what you know works and what doesn't work, and also it gives everyone a better view on how good or awful their fighters are. Let me know what you guys think

  5. Note that almost everyone who has replied is a brand new player. This is because this topic comes up fairly often. Search the forums and you will see other threads about it. To the guy who said this game is basic, I'd recommend playing for a few more months or years and see if you still think so! The main problems that I see with it are that it would be a massive overhaul to be anything other than flavour text. Do you mean you want new types of kicks with new chances of landing them, new types of attacks and defences? This game does get tinkered with by Mike, and sometimes fairly big changes happen, but it is a constant balance to make the game not too overpowered in one direction or other, not to make one skill much more effective than the other. At the moment you have to imagine taekwondo, kickboxing, karate etc as grouped together in "muay thai". Apologies to people who think that is ridiculous or insulting, but that's where we are with the game. GrecoRoman wrestling, judo, sambo have to be thought of as part of "wrestling" or "bjj". If you just want additional and differently named primaries but with the same secondaries (eg karate affecting punches slightly more than muay thai and kicks slightly less) then that will just be flavour text, it won't mean anything in game play terms. If you want additional secondaries as well then that is a fairly massive change. Shortly before I joined Mike added transitions and escapes as new secondaries and there had to be an artificial point reallocation period; people are still suffering from getting that wrong or older fighters no longer being effective as they have glaring holes (mainly in transitions not escapes - that at this very moment is still a useless skill). Mike works as hard as he can to make the game effective and improve it. New primary skills and/or secondaries would be fun yes, but realistic in the short term no. It's all good to have creative ideas but in practical terms this one is I think a non-runner. Unless Mike can hire some extra programmers and assistants. Trust me the game is deep and takes quite a while to master. Use your imagination with your own fighter creations and it will provide a rich game for you to play as it is I promise! There is talk of increasing the level that skills can go up to so that people can't get perfect fighters across the board and there's more variety. I'd recommend searching the forums for these threads as well, there's very good arguments for and against. Personally I can't wait to have a "perfect" fighter but I can imagine that after playing the game for 4 or 5 years I might see the benefit of that.

  8. Not a fan of the idea personally. The main thing you would see from this is Org Owners open up a Private Gym. Wouldn't benefit other players, just the Org Owner himself. It would have a knock on effect too. A lot of people pay for people to hold Private Gyms for them with VIP, which helps the game overall. If there is no need for that, there would be a drop in the number of VIP managers as there would be no need for their company slot. I think this would hurt the game more than it benefits it.

Looks like we got ourselves a new writer for the org. Keep up the good work man! Great job on the break-down of the upcoming EFC:Lace Up card where a new Bantamweight contender will emerge. Also, kudos to philofthefuture for his review of the Executioner Get Chopped Card. Nice to see a lot of great writers filling the gap left by Mr. Shtaaf and Owner JJ media.

  12. Executioner Get Chopped After that big event where our heads rolled, we might as well chop it off this time. To follow up a sold out crowd in Credit Card Center, we move on to the Liberty Dome. Attendance was a near sell out with a 4968 head count. The main event features the Executioner Lightweight and Light Heavyweight championships. Let's get to the match reviews. Preliminary Card Bantamweight Bout Mizzieko "The Ninja" Bestro (1-3-0) vs Oke "The Night Terror" Yagin (3-0-0) Yagin shows some power by knocking out his 3rd straight opponent with some strikes. Bestro's now on a slump with 3 defeats. Winner: Yagin by 1st round TKO(Strikes) Lightweight Bout Erick "Tornado" Clap (2-1-0) vs Reggie "The Constant" Wayne (0-2-0) The second meeting between both warriors. Clap won the match again but now with a decision. Winner: Clap by Majority Decision Super Heavyweight Bout Otto Hauser (6-1-0) vs Mason "The Hammer" Hill (7-3-0) Knockout artist Hauser faced Hill in this Boxing vs MT matchup. Hauser prevails in the 2nd round. Winner: Hauser by 2nd round TKO(Punches) Welterweight Bout Better "Off" Dead (12-8-0) vs Giacomo "Italian Stallion" Ysengrin (2-2-0) Dead is known to be a KO artist as he garnered his 6th KO of the night award. Ysengrin is just another bad luck fighter who got in his way. Winner: Dead by 1st round KO(Punch) Lightweight Bout Where Yo Girl (6-1-0) vs Fernando "Lover Boy" Diaz (6-1-0) Got to mention this one as things have heated up between these two fighters. Where Yo Girl provoked Diaz and he proved his worth by winning the match. Diaz says that he'll be back after the next TWGC so let's watch out for this, knowing that Yo Girl will be having his title match soon. Interesting... Winner: Girl by Unanimous Decision The preliminary matches were fought greatly by these aspiring fighters. 3 matches ended with a finish, not bad to set up the main card. Winners might have climbed up their ladders, specially Dead(top contender) and Girl(6th). MAIN CARD Heavyweight Bout San Terra (15-10-0) vs Tang Bang (5-3-0) We enter the main card with a Heavyweight brawl between Terra and Bang. Terra is known to be a brawler, ending most of his matches in a finish. Terra outclassed Bang in this one, not letting Bang land a clean shot against Terra. He finished Bang with a bang in the second round where he landed an uppercut followed by a big right hand to the head. Winner: Terra by 2nd round TKO (Strikes) Middleweight Bout Angel Face (8-1-0) vs Marcus Child (2-2-0) What kind of angel would toy a poor child? It's Angel Face. He showed no kindness as he dominated the match against the younger Marcus Child. Face is next challenger for the title and this just happened to be a stepping stone for him. Angel indeed has power as he TKO'd his opponents in all his 8 victories and who knows what will happen in his shot at the title despite his evident inferiority in the ground. Winner: Face by 2nd round KO (Punch) Light Heavyweight Championship http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/1/1b14.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/1/1w8.jpg Hughtavious Mingo (13-3-0) vs Joe Durham (7-1-0) The result of this match is very predictable. With Mingo, the champ superior in boxing MT and wrestling, all Durham could hope for was a takedown from Mingo or the other way around. Durham was unsuccessful in this aspect and the champ just outclassed him. In the middle of the first round, Mingo knocks Durham down with a big right hand and follows up with a monster hook as Durham was knocked out cold. Great power exhibited by the champ right there. Now he is up to face Jimmie Craig who earned his shot at the title. Winner: Mingo by 1st round KO (Punch) Light Heavyweight Bout http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/21/21w17.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/31/31w8.jpg Jimmie Craig (15-6-0) vs "the Monkey Man" Dieter Von Sprockets (11-5-0) This bout is more of a match for the number 1 contender position. Both fighters have been to title matches and the winner of this one proceeds to face Mingo in a title match. Craig is the slight favorite in this one statistically and he proved it by knocking out Von Sprockets in the 1st round. Former champ Von Sprockets had nothing to do in the standup battle and Craig just capitalized on his advantage. Late in the 1st round, that 1-2 combo by Craig threw Von Sprockets off his guard and Craig just kept hammering so hard that the referee had to stop it. Not the best call for a TKO but at least it saved Von Sprockets from a worse injury. Winner: Craig by 1st round TKO (Strikes) Lightweight Championship http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/21/21b15.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/42/42w9.jpg Garrick "Off His" Head (7-2-0) vs Tony "The Wrecking Ball" Bullard (20-3-0) The main event is an exciting match where reigning champ Bullard faced a great challenger in the presence of Garrick Head. Head proved to be a worthy challenger by defeating the champ in 5 long rounds of thrilling MMA. Both fighters decided kept the fight standing and focused more on strikes and clinches. This match could've gone either way around as the three judges score 47-48 in favor of Head. Head just threw more variations that landed specially in the clinch where he got higher efficiency than Bullard. He was also able to block 6 clinch attempts from Bullard which cost him some points. Overall, it was a great match deserving to be Fight of the Night. Now we've got a new champ on the rise and he's up to face Where Yo Girl who just earned his shot by defeating Fernando Diaz in a 3 round bout. Winner: Head by Unanimous Decision Special Awards: KO of the night: Better Dead Fight of the night: Head vs Bullard

  15. EFC: Lace Up Preview Spencer Kilco reporting for £4£: The best for MMA News, Views and Reviews Saturday night EFC will be asking twenty men to shut up and lace up (no boots will be worn in the cage) when they return to the Liberty Dome for a huge 265 lbs title rematch. Barney Gumble (20-5) has called for a rematch after dropping the belt to Clinton "Baked Fish" Offley (16-3) only a week ago! 265 lbs Championship Fight: Clinton Offley vs Barney Gumble The two fought last month with Offley pulling the upset with a submission win in less than a minute of the first round. He’s not put a foot wrong since dropping his former manager and now working with Max Bennet. A four fight win streak plus winning the championship the last time out must be sky rocketing his confidence. The Nassauvian fight now based in New York is a solid wrestler and a brown belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu but it’s hard to imagine him having the skill right now to be dominant champion. Offley is defiantly the underdog but he’s already over throne Gumble if he can just do it again everyone will have to agree he earned the belt. The previous champ, Gumble, only had two defences before losing it Offley. He’s going to be annoyed about the blemish on his record but surly thinks he can win it back. Every one loves an underdog yet the EFC fans love is still with Barney Gumble. An exceptional fighter on his feet scoring 19 KO wins including beating Offley at Highland Games 49 in January of this year. And being able to hold his own with decent wrestling it is hard to think he lost the belt in their original match up. The bookies will be on the side of Gumble yet the fans will be torn between the two. This was all the makings of being EFC main event of the year! 135 lbs co-main event: Kirk Lancaster vs Jensen Haye The New Zealander Lancaster (6-4) is coming of a decision loss when he goes up against British all-rounder Haye (6-1). Lancaster is going to want to get back to winning but has an uphill struggle in this fight. Look for this to become a wrestling match as Lancaster won’t be able to compete with Haye’s standup. Haye was all the tools of an extremely strong fighter. With a six fight win streak Haye is going to use this opportunity to show the world how good he is and if he’s contender quality. On paper its Haye’s fight to win. 135 lbs: Jet Hemi vs Dale La Grande Being champion still fresh in his memory La Grande (11-2) needs to get some wins in to be consider a contender again. Coming off a decision win Le Grande is going want to turn that into a streak using his powerful muay thai and wrestling to disarm his opponent. Hemi (10-9) however may be hard to disarm. With unbelievable boxing ability if this fight stays standing it’s hard to think it won’t end in a KO for Hemi. Le Grande needs to clinch and keep Hemi in close to avoid being out boxed. 145 lbs: Kicky McLegs vs Paul Teixeira McLegs (5-0) has had a great early career and now with a new manager that has changed gym and brought him into the EFC it sees the Korean is more focused than ever. With absolutely no punch power McLegs is going to have to wall and stall Teixeira (5-1). A great all round fighter Teixeira could out box or out wrestle McLegs. Coming off his first lose the Brazilian is going to want to put the rookie in his place getting back to winning. A battle of focus and who wants it more? 265+ lbs: Rickety Cricket vs Bio Hazard Cricket (6-0) and Hazard (2-1) are both incredible wrestlers that are competent everywhere else with all eight of their combined wind by KO. If I was a betting man I wouldn’t put my money anywhere near this one. On paper these two are perfectly matched, which could make for fight of the night. Hazard is still a rookie wanting to build on his record while Cricket doesn’t intend to stop his fantastic streak anytime soon. I would put money on this one being fight of the night! 135 lbs: Sum Ting Wong vs Jasun Wharton Wong (6-2) relies on his wrestling to overpower his opponents but Wharton (6-3) can easily match him in that department. Wharton is a decent all-rounder that is coming off a submission win and has all the tools to turn into a streak. The china man is going to try not let that happen, coming off a loss to Dale La Grande he needs a good rebound win. Wong is only going to achieve that by getting Wharton up against the cage and keeping him there otherwise Wong may not be able to answer Wharton’s arsenal of skills. 135 lbs: Nigel Benn Jnr vs Joseph Taylor Australian Taylor (6-2) is a decent fighter who finds his wins on met via submissions. Coming off a win he has to be determined to have a great run in EFC. Expect the The Dark Destroyer stands in his way. The English man Benn (4-0) is fantastic in the clinch and on the ground which seems to be where Taylor would prefer to go. Benn has all the skills to out fight Taylor however struggles to finish fights, all four wins by decision. But you know the 21 year old is going to put on the fight of his life to continue that impressive undefeated streak. 265 lbs: Rick Rude vs Capital Punishment Two men who need a win if they wish to continue being taken seriously Rude (4-3) and Punishment (5-5) are both coming off losses. Neither want to continue to loss, however what does make this fight interesting is that they are both boxers. Although the German "Ravishing" Rick Rude is probably the better boxer. If punishment can’t match his boxing it’s hard to think he can beat Rude. 170 lbs: Oleg Bartowski vs Luigi Bates Bartowski (10-5) has made a fast drop to bottom of the card. Two fights ago he was fighting Tony Bullard for the EFC welterweight belt. But now with a two loss streak he needs a win to ever be considered a contender again. His opponent Bates (3-0) has a promising career ahead of him. Yet he hasn’t really proven himself as all wins have been by way of decision. Bates is a good all-rounder so could impose himself to prove he can stand and trade with contenders.

  16. 75k for the fastest KO of the Toureny from the EFFA KT (in case of a tie the Fight with the higher Rating wins) we where talking about it in the alliance chat and it seems that just one so far even has someone who can compete. seems like the next tourney we can join depending on the ID range. sooo you can stop wanking yourself

  17. Interestingly, with 100k per month that allows the person to trade it for VIP and roughly self-sustain. This is a pretty good offer for a newish player if their fighters can be in the gym too.

Might we see a spectacular knockout? Might somone walk away with the whole 10k? Boy I hope so, because if it happens, it would be well worth the 10Gs! Good luck to you both!!!

  20. Well the main thing about being a Tycoon is networking. It's not a case of doing it all on your own, but being able to network with other managers in order to achieve your aim. They used to have it at the very start of the game that you could have 2 companies, but one company was better so it changed. I think only PBR still have two companies, but I think I might have seen a couple of others.

  34. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14133704845947.png GKNY 12 PRE FIGHT INTERVIEW WITH ROBERT SITO We're here today with Robert "Sitek" Sito ahead of his fight this weekend with Jose Cuervo at GKNY 12. The winner of this fight should be set to secure a fight for the lightweight title against the winner of Sphinx Vs Lester which takes place at Underworld 4. Welcome Robert, how are you feeling about Saturday night, do you have any pre-fight nerves leading up to this one, the first time you will be stepping in the cage as a GKNY fighter? Wow Man. I'm feeling great today and I hope nothing will change before the fight or after it (big smile). I changed orgs because the one where I was fighting ran out of money, when I was close to a title fight...I think this fight with Jose will be a great war. Similar build guys trying to tear each others heads off. We'll see what happens but I hope that my hand will be up after our fight And then a title shot... I don't care who wins the title match right now. I think Jose could beat both of them so our match should have been the real title fight right now Yeah, you and Jose look in great shape at the moment and are both pretty evenly matched, what you lack in Muai Thai, you make up for in your wrestling to even the score. Jose looks like an all or nothing fighter where all of his fights win or lose end in finished, with this aggression and his and his reputation for having amazing high kicks are you worried you might get caught with a lucky shot? I'm not afraid of his kicks. I can also kick but I feel my hands will be faster than his legs And I hope that luck will not be necessary in our matchup Thats good to hear you are concentrating on your own strenghs rather than your opponents. Without giving away your game plan, how's the training been going? Your training partner Lukasz Wolek is fighting on the same card against Fez Pez in the featherweight division. Have you been training together, and how do you rate his chances on Saturday night? Yeah Man, we spar a lot with each other. My boxing gets better and better thanks mostly to him. But we've got great pack of guys in our gym. For me as a featherweight fighting in the lightweight division isn't easy but I train with a lot of great lightweights like Krystian Wojnasiewicz, Herkules Nowacki, Marcin Sokol or Rafal Koks. Hector Linhares, who's whole former career was as a bantamweight, will be debuting in the featherweight division so I have another great skilled guy to train with. They do a lot with Lukasz as well, so be prepared for fireworks in Wally's fight also. I predict beautiful KO...but it's MMA. You never know for sure. I'm almost sure Wally will get his win. I hope it's gonna be great day for my camp. We want only W's on the night... That's fantastic, it sounds like it's going to be a very entertaining night from your camp aswell as the other 8 great fights we've got lined up on the card on Saturday night. Thanks for taking the time out to talk to us today. I wish you the best of luck in your fight and also look forward to chatting to Wally after his fight, so pass on my best wishes to him aswell. Before we sign off, do you have a message for the guy that will be standing opposite you in the octagon on Saturday night? No problem. I will pass them. Actually we will be eating some pizza today with each other. We can as we are light in our divisions To Jose, I don't have much to say, just prepare for war and don't be scared Homie See You at the weigh'ins and of course in the cage.

  35. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14030234737785.jpg Danny "Cyclone" Ciprianni Now what was that well know phrase that popped into my head when you opened your mouth and verbal diarrhea poured out? Ah yes, that's it 'People in glass houses shouldn't throw stones'. Now if you want to go throwing words around like 'Cherry Picker' you should probably make sure your own fight record is in order first. I've only had 4 fights so far in my career with my last fight ending in a loss and yet I am still ranked within 200p4p of you and your pretty little 6-1-0 record. You've just been on a 3 fight win streak and yet you still haven't managed to climb any higher than me, sounds like the perfect definition of cherry picking to me. As for asking the management to set this fight up, they actually asked me. They said they are fed up of your prima-donna style tantrums and you walking around as if you are the Champion when you are nothing more than a small rung at the bottom of the ladder. Do you know what? Maybe you should have asked for more training time, the only thing it looks like you train regularly is your gums. See you in the cage, chump.

  36. He said he fixed the ref standups, so strikers need to have escapes to get back to their feet. Yes they can escape as soon as taken down, but that shouldn't happen much unless they have great escapes, at least I hope. I worry that when he fixed escapes he will make them to strong and need to adjust them, but we will have to see. I have not read anywhere that he made takedowns easier, he did say he was looking at making a missed takedown not lose as much energy. I don't know if it was done. If so you can shoot more, but that only makes you more predictable. I do agree takedowns should be made a little easier to get. I also read he was making GNP better. Hopefully once the changes kick in if it needs tweaked a little he will.
