  1. I think it's the number of weeks they've been gaining in that skill. I'm not quite sure about that though.
  2. I think if you continue to decline the fight offers he'll eventually cancel your contract. Just train him in the meantime and keep the bonus that asshole gave you.
  3. That's brilliant! You could also make a portion of the forum like a VIP's only place, you know, just to add some mystery and intrigue. People are somewhat naturally voyeuristic and go mad when they can't see what's behind the curtain.
  4. You don’t have anything else to say, but I have a few things to clarify: The headline is ‘Possible Idea for VIPs Without Companies’. It was somewhat off topic, but I was supporting effectively capping the size the companies can get so there doesn’t have to be an alternative once the game goes public. I think that’d be the easiest thing to do and would entice more people to purchase a VIP account. I don’t know how to write code and am not going to tell anyone how to run their game though, so I’m completely dropping the topic after this is posted. Like I’ve already said, I wasn't trying to come off as attacking any companies, just pointing out potential problems that could come up in the future and limit the games potential. Much like real world economies, virtual economies aren't immune to economic failures. It’s much easier to correct a lot of these issues with virtual economies, naturally. It just so happens that behaviors by consumers and firms play out in games like they do in the real world. I’m only aware of this because I’m a political-economy graduate student and there have been a number of studies on the topic. As to why they'd waste precious time doing so, well, that's beyond me. Is it a cartel? It certainly has the makings of one. That’s if you go by mainstream economic definitions, of course. If you don’t, that’s perfectly fine; it doesn’t make what I said any less true though. I did actually say that what you guys had going on was extremely mild and probably wouldn’t develop given certain restrictions already in the game, if you’ll recall. You seemingly don’t recall that though. Do you honestly think that I really care who you’re friends with or chat it up with on the phone? Do you truly think I’m against friendship? I’ll state for the record that I don’t care who you interact with and am pro-friendship. Probably a big shock to you, I know. Those were idiotic things to assert and a poor usage of straw man tactics. You’re acting like as big of a dick as the boobs in your avatar. Lastly, I don't know why you emphasized that the supplements your taking work. If that's a cheap way of knocking mine, I'll gladly give you some free to show you that they work better than what you can buy elsewhere for the same price.
  5. Geez, is this dude the Buster Douglas of Tycoon?
  6. You're going to really struggle. I'd say we're averaging one new manager a day in the city. There's now as many gyms in Rio as there is in Vegas, including mine. Even with the lack of coaches, people are paying to join Challenge. He went a unique route that's starting to look pretty damn brilliant at the moment.
  7. It goes a little further than that: “dude you haven't even reached the Clydesdale stage of the Anheiser Bush Marketing Plan, and DFC isn't quite the UFC yet, but together, we are going places. I even made it a requirement to own Boondock Fightwear if you are DFC.” That’s extremely mild and thankfully there’s a limit as to the number of events that can be held. I disagree strongly with Cross-Bred being a better value even at this point in time, but let’s just assume they are. There are some diminishing returns with Gladiator with the bloated size there, sure. But what's the tipping point for the ratios? Neither of us knows for certain; it's spelled out vaguely in the user guide to add some mystery and challenge. The point I was attempting to make is what's happening: The active managers that are with Gladiator will largely stay there, again, from the status quo bias. The double hit for an enrollment fee is unintentionally playing right into this. He only has six coaches, but he can afford almost ten elite coaches, effectively making the value unbeatable. If that happens, what somewhat new manager is going to leave Gladiator and their sparring schedules and lay down $300 dollars to enroll with Cross-Bred? Although a limit on the number of coaches will largely squash any potential problems.
  8. I really hate singling out companies and generally appearing as if I'm whining about the game. I'm not harboring any ill will, just trying to think about the success of this game in the long-term. With that said, how does one go about competing against Gladiator in a unique way? He's constantly having to raise the capacity to meet demand. He's almost able to hire ten elite coaches and charges a price lower than the competition. All the competition is going to go under, especially when he's going to be able to charge as little as Cozad and eventually less. Team World Class is doing well and probably a large part of that is from a status quo bias, player abandonment and the like. This problem is most likely going to arise in the other sectors, organizations to a lesser degree because of the scheduling limit. I would think that the goal is to make the VIP account as desirable as possible and have a lot of renewal turnover. Unless Tycoon is constantly creating new markets - introducing new types of businesses week after week and cities as well - the only incentive for maintaining a VIP will be for the extra fighters.
  9. I'm not going to delve into political discussions, but it's quite evident that all industrialized nations have competition laws. Also, you can already see the formation of cartels: '**You may run a company that helping would be contrary to my personal interests and those of a few of my friends. If this is the case, we'll discuss it via PM and come to an agreement.'
  10. Who really knows. Take a look at the gyms in Vegas. I bet three or four of them will never turn a profit; it's quite possible that all of them, aside from Gladiator, are going to go belly up eventually.
  11. I'm just afraid it's going to come to a point when these large companies are able to undercut everyone else. It's already happening with Gladiator in Vegas. He has so many fighters there that he's able to bring in elite coaches dedicated to only one technique.
  12. What ever it's worth, I'm all for limiting it to only one company. It's just funny to see all the owners of these large monopolies wanting to cap the number of competition in the cities. Instead, I propose that we cap the number of fighters organizations are allowed to have, cap the number of sponsorships companies can give, and cap the number of fighters that gyms can hold. It's already an upward climb for us new VIPs, and I can just envision folks not wanting to even purchase VIP accounts in a matter of months because of the monopolies and the resulting crowding out that's going to eventually take place.

  14. Haha, nah, it's not one of my fighters. Boondock kind of set me straight on the whole matter though. I was just wondering since I'm matched up with purple and brown belts with my blue belts.
  15. I'm aware that you've made it so that a failed submission attempt saps the energy of the fighter that attempted it, but it seems you have a huge advantage if you slide the slider all the way to finish. It's as if it'll eventually catch your opponent in a submission no matter what. I know there's a gap in their BJJ skill, but I think this fight is a perfect example: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1242 Morgan attempted five subs, one every twelve seconds, within the first minute of the fight. He finally caught Alves at a little over four and a half minutes into the first round with his twelfth attempt. Morgan attempted a sub every twenty-one seconds! Does a fighter even have a chance against a guy with this tactic, if he has the slider mostly on control?
