  1. Ok thanks. So the buyer always submits right? I assume if it gets rejected, the deal is canceled.
  2. Ok, maybe I'm just dense, but if the VIP days are subtracted when the avatar is submitted then your first sentence implies the buyer pays the 15 days VIP, while your next sentence implies the seller pays it... To clear it up for me, are sellers only selling already submitted and approved avatars? Or are they selling avatars that have not been submitted and approved yet? Also do you still get charged 15 days VIP if the avatar is rejected?
  3. Thanks Winger. So I get that anyone can make them, and they use photo apps/photoshop. I also see how to apply to your fighter, but I'm a little confused on the acceptance process, VIP days and buying/selling procedure. So if I make one for my use I can submit it for acceptance and if accepted, it will cost 15 VIP days and only I can use it, correct? However, if I make one and sell it, how do I get the avatar to the buyer? What is the process? Do I need to submit it first and then transfer it somehow in the game once it's been accepted, which would mean I'm paying the VIP days upfront ? Or do I just email the unsubmitted avatar to the buyer and they submit it, so the VIP days are coming from the buyer's acct?
  4. Can someone explain to me the whole custom avatar system? I see a lot of VIP managers using them and forum threads for buying/selling them but I'm really confused about how it works: how are they made, who can make them, submission/acceptance process, does it cost anything to use them, etc.
  5. This is correct for fights; no need to schedule anything just cancel auto-flight, but perhaps he was trying to move bases.
  6. No trick for me. I use Chrome and have had no issues using the calendar to schedule private jet flights as recently as yesterday. I also just tried a public flight and it worked fine.
  7. Yes, it takes 10 and I've never had it not work. You sure you have 12? Refresh and/or logout and login back in to confirm.
  8. I'm a true noob; I can't deny it! I don't mean to de-rail this discussion about how to train , but I've seen lots of threads bitching about Mike and his lack of involvement and I never really understood why. Now my innocence has been lost...
  9. I'd really like to see this fixed. It makes no sense for escapes to train 30% slower than other secondaries unless they are somehow 30% more valuable. If it was truly an error on Mike's part like Duphus claims, then this should have been fixed rather quickly.
  10. Bwang, thanks for the stats! You were very close with your 2/3rds speed guess. With this in mind, do you still think it is worthwhile to train escapes for stand-up builds, or switch to transitions and hope for a ref stand up as skull suggests?
  11. Great question and I'm wondering this myself. On the updates page I think it says it was slowed down, but apparently too much. The only thing I can confirm is that escapes definitely trains slower than the other secondaries... Still I'm not sure what the best option is if you are trying to build a stand-up fighter. I'll wait for one of the resident experts to weigh in.
  12. VIP is vital. There is very little to do and I basically had no engagement with the game until I got VIP. The extra fighter slots, ability to run businesses, and tycoon assistant are easily worth it. The 14 day VIP trial upon joining is nice, but to be honest I was still figuring out the very basics during this time and the magnitude of the benefits of VIP were lost on me. I think a 30 day VIP trial would be a step in the right direction toward hooking more people on the game.
  13. Yes, I do it at least 3-5x a week. The list needs updating though as 1 site is down and recaptcha is not working on another.
  14. Thanks Bwang. Yes, I had read that it occurs only for intelligent and experienced fighters. Twice in 3 days though... that guy must be a genius!
  15. Maybe it's just a statistical anomaly then...
  16. Did they up the frequency of the random messages? In the prior 6 months of real-time, I had only received 2 total random messages from fighters. However, this week alone I've gotten the documentary one 3 times, including twice for the same fighter. Also, it says they get paid $1000 for their time, but this money never actually shows up in the fighter's bank.
  17. Yes, I believe it is worth it if you have the money simply because it can be hard to find laundry in stock. Jets can be used for fighter to manager, or manager to manager laundering. Finally, besides running a private gym, if you have a 1 million+ bank what else can you really use it for?
  18. Agreed. The fastest learner I've had was 7.35 out of a possible 7.5. He went from -- to +.
  19. I agree with duphus. In terms of active members I've always assumed it corresponded very accurately with the "online today" number at login. This number is consistently in the 500-600s every day.
  20. As pjrfin mentioned there are a lot of things that go into training speed. You're probably not doing anything wrong, you're just unaccustomed to very slow pace of this game. 2 months is not a lot of time to see progress, especially if you're not training skills that are very low or you are not training 1on1 with elite coaches. For reference, the fastest skill increases will be a pop from useless (1) to abysmal (2), which should happen in 2-3 sessions if the fighter is a good learner and training 1on1 with an elite coach. In case you haven't read them yet, here are two great references for training that explain how age, hidden learning speed, group size, etc. affect training. http://www.mmatycoon.info/index.php?title=Training http://www.mmatycoon.info/index.php?title=Training_Changes_2011#Training_Group_Sizes
  21. Thanks for the info, I had no idea escapes trained slower than any of the other secondaries. So if I get two 1on1 sessions with an elite coach training something like kicks for example, I should see a pop from useless to abysmal in 2 sessions? I just re-read your 18yo fighter creation, training and sparring guide; great stuff!
  22. True noob here, be gentle please. I just trained a guy with useless (1) escapes for 3 straight escapes sessions with an elite (15) BJJ coach and he still hasn't popped to a 2 in escapes. All of the sessions had 2 or 3 people in them so not 1 on 1. I thought I read that an average learner would pop to abysmal (2) within 2 sessions at most. Is my guy a slow learner?
