  2. - Checkmate Championship 12 Review - http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1602886328test%202.gif Event Rating : 154.44 (8th highest) Attendance : 3,000/3,000 (Tied for most attendance) Fighter Pay : 150,500 (5th highest) Notes : This card had some big upsets, back and forth wars, and some dominant performances! - Awards - Fight of the night - Clinch King Smash Machine vs Bobby Bryant. (5K to each) Submission of the night - Nou Hematopoye. (5K) TKO/KO of the night - Clinch King Smash Machine. (5K) Honorable Mentions : Orvar Odd Lodinkinni vs Omir Stalingrad, Bjorn Akerfeldt (Submission), Alec Wolfe (TKO). Biggest Upset (Personal Opinion) : #10 Bjorn Akerfeldt DEF #5 Gabriel Creed. Fastest Finish: Alec Wolfe (TKO - 0:16) - Fight Results + Reviews - - Main Event - (170 Title) - #1 (P4P #10) Logan Barrengarry DEF Tyson Law ©(P4P #6) How : KO (Punch) When : RD#3 (1:28) Record Update : Barrengarry improves to (7-1). Law falls to (7-2). Ranking Change: Barrengarry becomes the new Champion & #6 P4P. Law becomes #1 Contender & #8 P4P. Fight Review: Law x Barrengarry for the welterweight belt was a great bout between two outstanding fighters with great managers to back them, Law has got Andrew Wittig behind him, who also manages Greg Connor who we saw back at Checkmate Championship 10 where he faced the #1P4P fighter in Checkmate, and pushed Aztec to the second round and unofficially won that first round giving the champ his hardest fight to date, so Wittig is no manager to bat an eye at! Barrengarry has also got a great manager behind him with Action Jackson who also manages former Checkmate champ Juan Christiano, who took out Joad Cressbeckler for the title and lost his title to Tyson Law (Andrew's fighter), so these two managers have had a history together recently. Now onto the fight between Law and Barrengarry. First round: The round starts and Law immediately shoots in for a takedown but Barrengarry was able to get double unders and circle away, but Law was persistent in his attempts until he managed to get one within the first 2 minutes of the first round. Law was trying to get off some ground and pound but was missing and then Barrengary managed to get a reversal into Law's guard, Law then was very persistent in throwing up submission attempts back to back but was unsuccessful, but not without effort. Second round: The bell rings and Law clearly wants this fight on the ground, Law trying hard for the takedown but Barrengary was not giving it up, all the while making Law pay for his failed attempts until Law was able to get another takedown where Law was able to land some nice ground and pound and kept him on the ground for the rest of the round. The second round was very close and hard to score. Third round: Law shoots for a takedown but Barrengary sprawls, then on Law's last attempt at a takedown Barrengary hit him with a hard shot to the head that rocked Law, then he followed it up with some beautiful clean precise strikes that got him a flush KO win to make him the #AndNew welterweight champion! - Co-Main Event - (145 Title) - #1 (P4P #9) Emiliano Blackburn DEF Magnificent Chulalongkorn (C²)(P4P #4) How : Decision (Unanimous 49:46x3) When : Record Update : Blackburn improves to (8-2). Chulalongkorn falls to (6-2). Ranking Change: Blackburn becomes the new Champion & #5 P4P. Chulalongkorn becomes #1 Contender & #7 P4P. Fight Review: At the start of round #1 both fighters were trying to feel each other out with the striking, with Blackburn landed more often. They were in and out of the clinch a few times but nothing significant landed. A clear round for Blackburn. Round 2 starts and both fighters start throwing hands out the gate, Blackburn showing good footwork. Chulalongkorn was looking for power shots but Blackburn was moving his head nicely, but overall a better round for Chulalongkorn than the first. In the 3rd round both men still wanted a boxing match, Chulalongkorn ate a hard body shot early but wore a good poker face. Blackburn was still showing some good head movement but Chulalongkorn was able to connect with some clean strikes, Chulalongkorn starting to get Blackburn's timing and landed some nice counter-shots, with Blackburn still landing as well, about halfway through the round Blackburn threw a predictable combo that Chulalongkorn capitalized on by landing a huge quick right on the button and it rocked Blackburn. It was starting to look like Chulalongkorn might be taking over the fight with his counter shots. Round #4 Blackburn immediately gets the fight inside the clinch but wasn't able to land anything before Chulalongkorn managed to break free, both fighters showing good defense but Blackburn was able to land a big body shot that looked like it hurt Chulalongkorn briefly and Chulalongkorn was able to land a nice uppercut but other than that this round was mostly a lot of movement and defense. In the 5th and final round, Chulalongkorn was still looking for the counters, Blackburn using good footwork to avoid strikes, they engaged in the clinch a few times, Chulalongkorn was really starting to pick it up because he knew Blackburn had 3 of the last 4 rounds, but couldn't manage to land a TKO/KO or Submission in time and this fight went to the judges' decision, which told us we have a #AndNew featherweight king! Blackburn outlanded Chulalongkorn 50 to 16 in head strikes, Chulalongkorn outlanded Blackburn 26-9 in body shots, and Blackburn got into the clinch 11 times and was able to land 6 strikes compared to Chulalongkorn's 0. This fight was between two of the very best featherweight in the 355K range and I am sure we will get to see them run it back in the near future! - Bout #8 - (145) - #6 Nou Hematopoye DEF #2 Donald Fisher How: Submission (Triangle) When: RD#1 (02:46) Record Update: Hematopoye improves to (4-0). Fisher falls to (7-4). Ranking Change: Hematopoye becomes #2 Contender. Fisher becomes #3 Contender. Fight Review: Fisher was able to cut Nou very early in the first round and then scored a nice takedown that landed him into Nou's guard, from there Fisher wanted to land some ground and pound but was having a hard time doing so due to Nou's wrist control and all-around defense, then Nou threw his legs up looking for a triangle and Fished didn't react fast enough and Nou was able to come away with a fast submission victory over the top contender! *Submission of the night - Bout #7 - (205) - Clinch King Smash Machine DEF #7 Bobby Bryant How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#3 (01:59) Record Update: Machine improves to (6-3). Bryant falls to (6-4). Ranking Change: Machine becomes #8 Contender. Bryant becomes Unranked. Fight Review: Now ladies and gentlemen, I have to say, this fight was amazingly crazy! Machine got cut right off the bat, Machine then clinched up but Bryant smartly immediately break the clinch, both fighters traded some strikes before Machine clinched again and Bryant once again immediately broke it and then made that cut on Machine even worse, but that's not all, Bryant rocked Machine in the middle of the first round and really began to open that cut up but Machine recovered for the most part, around the 4-minute mark Machine was able to get the fight in the clinch once again, but like the times before Bryant escaped, there was one more clinch from Machine then the round ended. It looked like this fight was gonna be all Bobby Bryant! The second round began similar to the first with Machine getting the clinch and Bryant breaking it and making that cut really horrific, and it remained like this until Machine was able to keep ahold of his clinch and cut Bryant back! Machine also rocked Bryant at the end of round 2! This round looked more promising for Machine but with Bryant still dominating the striking for the most part! The third and final round started and Machine wastes no time getting to the clinch, Bryant tried to escape but Machine wasn't having it and was landing some beautiful knees and elbows then Machine landed his signature knee up the middle inside the clinch and it dropped Bryant, Bryant got back to his feet but Machine went right back to his clinch game but Bryant was able to escape it, however, Machine was relentless with his clinches, everyone knew that's where he wanted to be and he sure showed that. He got Bryant in the clinch one final time where he landed a vicious elbow that caused Bryant to go crashing into the canvas, Machine jumped on him and started throwing strikes to seal the deal and got the TKO win 1:59 seconds into the 3rd! *FOTN and TKO/KO of the night! - Bout #6 - (205) - #3 Orvar Odd Lodinkinni DEF #8 Omir Stalingrad How : TKO (Strikes) When : RD#2 (01:11) Record Update : Lodinkinni improves to (6-3). Stalingrad falls to (5-3). Ranking Change: Lodinkinni remains #3 Contender. Stalingrad becomes #10 Contender. Fight Review: Firstly wanted to say this fight was very close to being the FOTN, a great 2 round war between both fighters! In the first round, Stalingrad cut Orvar, then Orvar turned around and cut Stalingrad, then Stalingrad knocked Orvar down and rocked him badly, then Orvar knocked Stalingrad down at the end of the first! In the second round, Orvar was put on wobbly legs by Omir and his cut got worse, but then Orvar landed a huge combo that sat Omir down! Then Omir missed a combination and Orvar capitalized on it and knocked him down again before getting the TKO victory in a rock'em sock'em of events! - Bout #5 - (205) - #10 Bjorn Akerfeldt DEF #5 Gabriel Creed How : Submission (Kimura) When : RD#1 (04:35) Record Update : Akerfeldt improves to (3-1). Creed falls to (4-2). Ranking Change: Akerfeldt becomes #6 Contender. Creed becomes #7 Contender. Fight Review: Creed was throwing strikes early on but missed most, Akerfeldt drove in for a takedown and was successful, and after positional grappling Akerfeldt put on an onslaught of submission attempts until he was able to secure a kimura and forced Creed to tap! - Bout #4 - (155) - #4 The Undertaker DEF #7 Carlos Rogan How: Submission (Strikes) When: RD#2 (01:08) Record Update: Undertaker improves to (5-1). Rogan falls to (4-4). Ranking Change: Undertaker remains #4 Contender. Rogan remains the #7 Contender. Fight Review: Rogan was able to get a takedown early in the first round before being stood up by the referee, then Rogan scored another takedown which lead Undertaker to immediately get a reversal and start working his ground game and tried to get a Kimura finish late in the round and Rogan defended well and escaped but it still was a good move for the scorecards and probably won him the round. In the second round, Rogan got into the clinch and then decided to break the clinch and Undertaker took advantage of that and started to land some heavy shots and had Rogan wobbly which forced Rogan to try to get a takedown to recover, but Undertaker threw him off and pummeled him to the ground and Rogan tapped out to strikes. - Bout #3 - (145) - Anderson Beach Boy DEF Lonnie Donegan How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#2 (03:52) Record Update: Boy improves to (5-4). Donegan falls to (3-3). Ranking Change: Both Fighters Remain Unranked. Fight Review: In the first round Beach Boy wanted to get into a clinch fight badly, but Donegan was having none of it, but Beach was able to finally get a takedown after a few attempts and after he got the fight to the ground it was clear what he wanted to do, land some heavy ground and pound. Beach Boy had Donegan in some real trouble towards the end of the round with his ground and pound and ended the round with an armbar attempt. In the second round, it was still clear Beach Boy wanted this fight on the mats, Donegan was showing good takedown defense but Beach Boy was able to score a takedown early in the round and chipped away with heavy ground and ground until he managed to get a TKO stoppage! - Bout #2 - (170) - Alec Wolfe DEF #9 Pedro Vela How: TKO (Strikes) When: RD#1 (00:16) Record Update: Wolfe improves to (2-1). Vela falls to (5-5). Ranking Change: Wolfe becomes #9 Contender. Vela becomes #10 Contender. Fight Review: As soon as the bell rang Vela tried to get a Takedown on Wolfe, and Wolfe countered with a right hand, then Wolfe landed a clean left then a big body kick and Vela tried to shoot in for a takedown again and Wolfe countered which was the start of the end, Wolfe didn't let up on his pressure and got a TKO victory in just 16 seconds into the first! - Bout #1 - (265) - Dalton Swas vs Earnie Shavers - Ended In A No Contest [swas Missed Weight]
  3. That was a great performance by Bjorn against a very tough opponent! Yeah that was very strange, seems like he is given a script as that is the same thing he said in his first loss. 205 had a very big night on that card so I need to check on the division and see who matches up the best then I will send out offers!

  5. He really did do great in that 3rd round and won it on all the score cards, I could see a rematch in the future! Excited to see him take on Creed!
  6. - Checkmate Contenders 6 Preview - http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/160223291620201009_044105.jpg Checkmate Contenders 6 will be held in beautiful Amsterdam inside the Hard Knocks Arena (3,000) and will consist of 20 talented fighters, 16 of which being ranked in the top 10 of their respective divisions! With that being said let's take a closer look at all the fights we will get to see! Kicking off the card will be a pair of ranked Lightweight contenders when #6 ranked Lloque Yupanqui (2-2)(1-2 in CC) takes on #9 ranked Jamal Jameson (3-2-1)(1-2 in CC) as both men look to bounce back from a loss! Yupanqui has faced some very tough competition in his 3 fights with Checkmate, he made his debut against now #1 ranked Greg Connor, he then faced Serbian BJJ brown belt Eddie Bravo and was able to get a TKO victory in just 5 seconds in the first round and picked up a nice bonus alongside with it. He most recently took on current #4 ranked The Undertaker where he came up short by a Judge's Decision and now he will look to get back in the winner's circle by taking out a fellow ranked contender. Jameson came into Checkmate 2-0 with 1 draw, he made his debut against current #7 ranked contender Carlos Rogan and lost a close Decision, after getting his first taste of defeat he turned around and defeated Ron Sullivan by Unanimous Decision, he then took a rematch against Carlos Rogan in hopes to get his revenge, but he fell short, and now he is hungry to pick up a win and make his name known to the division! Up next will be a high-level Featherweight bout when we see #6 Carlos "The Checkmate Gatekeeper" Villarreal (6-4)(5-4 in CC) vs #10 Yair "El Pantera" Rodriguez (5-3)(1-1 in CC) Villarreal was a huge part of Checkmate's 155 division in the early days with wins over some of the top competition such as Bastian Berzerker and Edgar Bravo, and was always in firefights with the most dominate champ we have seen Cheif Aztec. Now he has moved to 145, and he made a huge splash in the division by facing the champion in his 145 debut where he essentially was dominating the champ on the unofficial scorecards before getting stopped in the 3rd round, before his last fight he changed his nickname to "The Checkmate Gatekeeper" because all of his losses at the time were to current champions, but in this fight, he will look to prove why his nickname should be "Checkmate Multidivional Prospect" by taking out a fellow 145 contender. #10 ranked Rodriguez is not looking to be a just a name on a vets resume though! He is coming off a loss to current #9 contender Ieuan Thomas, but before suffering that loss he made a successful debut with Checkmate by taking out a man that was apart of the first-ever 145 fight inside Checkmate, Pull Plugger. Rodriguez is a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and has 3 submission victories to his name that include 2 guillotines and 1 armbar, maybe he will look to add another submission victory under his belt in this bout? In our 3rd fight of the night, we will see #10 ranked Ivan Jomoney (3-2)(1-1 in CC) vs Patrick "Fighting Irish" O'Malley (3-2)(1-2 in CC) Jomoney spent the first 3 fights of his pro career fighting in an open weight division and went 2-1 before moving down to his natural weight class of 170 where he is coming off a win over Jeff Roberts by way of TKO in the first round and wants to increase his win streak to 2! After facing two absolute beasts in Potemkin Izmaylov and Logan Barrengarry O'Malley picked up his first Checkmate victory in his last bout against Checkmate vet Van Der Veer Jr back at Checkmate Championship 9 by Unanimous Decision. O'Malley has a very high-level well-rounded skill set and wants to showcase all of his skills against his ranked opponent and break into that top 10! The next fight will also be in the Welterweight division when #6 ranked Exeudo "The Frightmare" Oni (8-6)(6-4) takes on #7 ranked Alex "Never Quit" Steel Ii (3-3)(3-1 in CC) Oni has been on the Checkmate scene for quite some time now, winning 6 out of his 10 fights inside Checkmate he has proved that he can hang with some of the very best in his division and wants to defend his #6 ranking by defeating the man right under him in the rankings. Steel Ii has gone 3-1 inside Checkmate so far, his most recent victory is over #10 contender Ivan Jomoney where he got a Unanimous Decision back at Checkmate Championship 6. Steel's stats show he can be a very well rounded fighter but it seems he does prefer to stand and bang, which is probably what he will need to do against a fighter with the wrestling credentials Oni has. Our 5th bout of the evening will be in the Heavyweight division when we see Joey Hernandez (5-4)(2-2 in CC) vs Admir Bosnic (7-5)(1-1 in CC) Hernandez is coming off a win in his rubber match with Bloodsport Unknown where he picked up a TKO (Cut) win in the second round back at Checkmate Championship 10, he also has a win over Olusola Oni that he got back at Checkmate Fight Night 9. Now he will look to once again display his Sensational wrestling skills and pick up a big win against Bosnic. Bosnic is a Jiu-Jitsu Ace, all 7 of his wins have come by way of Submission, his most recent being an RNC victory over Dalton Swas back at Checkmate Championship 11, but he can tap his opponents with any submission he pleased as he has got a submission win by RNC x2, Americana x2, Kneebar, Kimura and Arm Triangle so you must protect your neck and all of your limbs if you are gonna try to grapple with Bosnic! Now we get to see a high-level Heavyweight bout when #9 "Dead Hard" David King (6-5)(1-1 in CC) takes on Jingky Bacolod (5-3)(1-3 in CC) King is usually trying to fix generators and escapes a crazy killer somewhere in the woods but he is stepping away from that to step inside the cage for a fistfight instead, he had a successful debut with Checkmate back at Checkmate Fight Night 10 against Joey Hernandez where he picked up the win in the first round by way of TKO, then went on to face undefeated and current #3 ranked contender Adam Schiff, he will now be looking to get back to his winning ways by taking out the former Conquest champ Bacolod. Bacolod came into to Checkmate being the champ on Conquest during the merge, he has faced some monsters inside the cage but don't let his Checkmate record distract you from who he has beaten inside Checkmate and in Conquest, he has beat current #10 ranked Drax Bautista, twice! He has also defeated current #4 ranked contender Agustin Cauchy, so although he has lost to some top competition you can never count him out of any fight because he has faced and beaten some of the greats! Up next is a big bout in the Middleweight division when #2 ranked Mitch Malone (4-1)(4-1 in CC) takes on #4 ranked Abayomrunkoje "The Last Bender" Oni (5-5)(4-3) Malone is coming off his unsuccessful title challenge and is looking to return in a big way by turning back Oni. Before getting locked in the cage with the champ Malone had taken out the likes of Bunta Fujiwara, Roku Takenaka, Obama Filth, and former champ One Wonder, his resume contains some of the best in the division and now he will look to add another big name by taking out Oni. "The Last Bender" is coming off two big back to back TKO/KO finished over Daniel Pawlik and most recently Edward Folayang. Oni has been apart of Checkmate since it's very early days and has fought some of the best we have seen step into the cage, he has won 4 out of his last 5 bouts, and all of those wins have been by way of TKO/KO in the very first round. Oni is now looking to chase that title shot, and with a win over the most recent challenger, it would definitely start to put his name in that mix! Next up we will see a 145 bout between the former champ and current #4 Rikuto "The Dragon" Ryuunosuke (FC)(6-2)(3-2 in CC) vs #9 ranked Ieuan "Chunky" Thomas (5-3)(3-1 in CC) Ryuunosuke is the former and Inaugural champion for Checkmate, Conquest, and HFC. He is also the winner of the 145 bracket for Checkmate's "To The Throne" tournament. Ryuunosuke is one of the best on the ground when he gets there, as 5 out of 6 of his wins have been by way of submission and he will be on the hunt for yet another big submission victory in this bout. Thomas also knows what he is doing when it comes to grappling as 4 out of his 5 wins are by submission. Thomas is currently on a two-fight win streak and is currently 3-1 inside Checkmate with his only loss being a Majority Decision against Ben Sheeran. If Thomas can manage to get the win against the former champion it would be huge for his career and solidify him as one of the top prospects in the division! Next up will be our Heavyweight Co-Main event between two men that want to start climbing their way to that title shot when we #5 Crusty Bigg "Bang" (6-2)(3-2 in CC) vs #10 Drax Bautista (4-2)(2-1 in CC) Former Title Challenger #5 ranked Crusty Bigg is coming off the biggest win of his career in his last outing where he took out former Conquest champion Jingky Bacolod by way of KO in the first round. Bigg has finished all his wins by way of TKO/KO and 5/6 in the first round, he now will be looking to add another big name to his resume by defeating the #10 ranked Drax Bautista. Bautista is truly a force to be reckoned with wherever the fight goes, with his Sensational Boxing, remarkable Muay Thai, and Wrestling, and a Brown Belt in BJJ he can truly end the fight anywhere it may go, and with those stats, he could very well be the next superstar in the heavyweight division but first, he must get past the #5 contender who has a win over the only man to beat him and start his climb up the rankings ladder! And now for our highly anticipated Welterweight Main Event! We will be honored to get to witness the #3 ranked contender Ispa Perkele (8-2)(4-2 in CC) take on the #4 ranked Potemkin Izmaylov (4-1)(4-1 in CC), Both men are well rounded so this fight could go and end anywhere! Perkele has been a well-known name in the Welterweight division ever since joining Checkmate. He is the only fighter to have been apart of two of Checkmate's tournaments, he was apart of the "Hunting Gold" tournament where he made it to the finals and fought for Checkmate's inaugural 170 title against Joad Cressbeckler. He was also apart of Checkmate's most recent tournament "Knight Battle" where he took out Exeudo Oni by way of KO in the first round of the tournament, he then lost to later crowned tournament champion Logan Barrengarry, he has since bounced back by picking up a win against Trey Wittman by way of TKO in the first round. Perkele also was the Medieval Combat 170 champion before moving over to Checkmate during the merge and has been a feared name in the division ever since! Izmaylov however will not fear Perkele for one second. The 22 Russia native was also apart of the "Knight Battle" tournament and made it to the finale by picking up a TKO win over Pedro Vela in his first-round bout then got a KO win over Trey Wittman in his second-round bout before facing Logan Barrengarry in the finale in which he didn't get his hand raised for the first time in his whole pro career, before falling at the hands of Logan, Izmaylov looked to be the next big superstar for the 170 division, and now he will look to get a huge win over the vet Perkele to prove to the masses that he is still that rising star that should be taken seriously by all of his future opponents! A hopeful prospect vs a tested vet that has beaten some of the best in the division, will there be a changing of the guard or will the vet reign his dominance once again?!
  7. - Checkmate Fight Night 12 Spotlight Preview - http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1602022423Logopit_1602022294118.jpg In our MAIN EVENT OF THE NIGHT we will have a ranked Light-Heavyweight header between #1 ranked in his division and P4P #7 ranked "Lord" Lukasz Wieczorek (7-2)(6-1 in CC)(FC) take on a man that's hungry for a title shot in #4 ranked Zane "The Bedtime Story" Alexander (9-2)(3-1 in CC) Wieczorek is the former and Inaugural Light-Heavyweight Checkmate Champion, he got that badge by winning the 205 bracket for the "Hunting Gold" tournament, where he was in a bracket full of undefeated fighters and he was the only one that wasn't undefeated and I think fans underestimated him, which only made him fight harder. His first-round bout was against the monster that is Gabriel Creed, and I have to say, I personally was genuinely shocked when I saw Wieczorek had beaten Creed, not because I didn't think Wieczorek had the skills to do so, but it was the fact of how dominate Creed had looked in his fights before his outing with Wieczorek. After handing Creed his one and only current loss in MMA he then went on to face perfect 7-0 rising star Mason Edwards, who had a lot to say about Wieczorek leading up to the fight, even so much as to speak in Wieczorek's native language to tell him "Your destruction is inevitable, but it is part of a larger plan." (Thanks to google translate, err I mean Checkmate's very own paid in full translators for translating that message!) But the trash-talking didn't faze Wieczorek as he went on to pick up the victory by way of TKO in just under a minute in the first round. He then was on the wrong side of a unanimous decision against the current champ Blake Phoenix but has since picked up two more wins against very talented opponents in Willy Mataitai and current #3 ranked Orvar Odd Lodinkinni, and with a win over Zane, he could very well be next in line for the rematch against the only man to have beaten him inside the Checkmate cage. Zane "The Bedtime Story" Alexander burst into the Checkmate scene already being a superstar, he was the winner of the 205 division for AWC S01 where he faced some stiff competition and managers and was able to come out on top. After winning the tournament he signed with Checkmate and made his debut against current #6 ranked contender Choctaw Bloode back at Checkmate Contenders 4 on July 1st, Zane was able to pick up a Unanimous Decision victory over Bloode, he then went on to face current #3 contender and former title challenger Orvar Odd Lodinkinni, Zane came up short in that bout but didn't let him get in the way of his title shot dreams. Zane then went on to face current #7 ranked Bobby Bryant at Checkmate Fight Night 11 and was able to get another dominant Unanimous Decision win. In his most recent bout, he faced current #10 ranked Bjorn Akerfeldt who had called Zane out to fight him and Zane happily accepted, Zane defeated him also by a Unanimous Decision. Zane is probably one of the most outgoing guys in all of Checkmate's roster, you may see him in the forums talking about his party's/basketball games/workouts/feeling, or just chilling with his fans, he is anything short of boring and has put all his antics aside for this bout, which will be the most challenging fight of his whole career, you have to be 100% dialed in and focused if you want to defeat a man like Lukasz, and with his title dreams being 1 big win away I believe we will see the most determined Zane we have seen yet, which is a scary thought. Proven contender vs rising star, who takes it?! In our Co-Main event, we will have a Featherweight tilt between two talented contenders when #2 "Krazy Horse" Chase Buchanan (5-2)(3-1 in CC) faces #7 Charles Manson (6-3)(2-2 in CC) Buchanan is fresh off his title fight with current champ Magnificent Chulalongkorn, and now is looking to get back to his winning way against a fellow contender. Manson has won 2 out of his last 3 by way of Submission in the very first round, now he will look to use BJJ Black Belt knowledge against the former title challenger. We will also get to see.. (170) - #5 NoBrain Mentally (5-3)(1-2 in CC) vs #7 Darry Curtis (2-0)(1-0 in CC) Curtis is coming off his successful Checkmate debut and wants to make it a perfect 2/2 inside Checkmate! Mentally is looking to spring back after having two back to back losses and will look to capitalize on any mistakes the young undefeated fighter makes. (185) - #6 Veo "Mero" Swift (4-2)(0-0 in CC) vs #9 Kotaro Kikuta (1-2)(1-1 in CC) Veo will be making his Checkmate debut already ranked #6 in the division and he will try to prove to everyone watching why he was given that ranking. Kikuta is coming off a big win in his last bout and will look to add another big win to his resume! (185) - #7 Ispa Murska (3-4)(1-3 in CC) vs George Kane (0-1)(0-0 in CC) Murska has a win over the current champion of his division, but has struggled with some of the top contenders, and although not ranked Kane looks to be a promising future contender. (265) - Deontay DJ (3-4)(2-2 in CC) vs Sergei "The Russian Axe" MiG (2-0)(0-0 in CC) (265) - Maris "Rukis" Lakis (3-3)(1-1 in CC) vs Mariano "Fuego" Medrano (3-1)(0-0 in CC) (145) - Sammie Conner (2-2)(2-2 in CC) vs Dechlan "Slick" Tomsett (4-6)(1-3 in CC) (205) - Alen Zalac (3-3)(2-3 in CC) vs Tarmo "TRT" Rajantaka (3-3)(0-2 in CC) (145) - Walter Sobchak (2-6)(1-2 in CC) vs Leon "Cranium" Johnson (2-3)(0-3 in CC)
  8. - Checkmate Pound for Pound Rankings Update! -
  9. The goal eventually is to do both, I have done some reviews in the past but currently I just do mostly previews so that I don't get burnt out with writing, but hopefully I can get around to doing more reviews in the future!
  10. - Checkmate Championship 11 Preview - http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/160167680620201002_181310.jpg In our MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING, we will see a Heavyweight World Championship clash between reigning defending #2 ranked Pound for pound Champion Bubba Wallace (11-0)(3-0 in CC) take on his toughest opponent to date in #7 pound for pound and #1 ranked contender Jax Chambers (7-1)(4-0 in CC) Wallace has a chance to make Checkmate with this bout by being the first Checkmate Heavyweight Champion to successfully defend his belt 2 times! Wallace is coming off his spectacular performance over top-ranked contender Tank Abbott Tribute who was a perfect 6-0 at the time. Wallace had a rocky start to that fight, unofficially losing the first round by just a hair, but then he came out in the second round and showed why he was and still is the champion, he landed some nasty shots that caused a gruesome cut that had the referee called in and he ultimately called the fight right there, and luckily for Tank because Bubba was not gonna let him off the chain anytime soon. Wallace wants to avoid a bloodbath this time around though and try to make sure he does everything perfectly and gets his opponent out of there quickly like he did to win the Checkmate Heavyweight Belt against Anton Gardner with a 9 second KO, because his opponent this time will be like none other he has faced before, and if Bubba even makes the slightest mistake he might just have to say goodbye to not only his belt but also his consciousness because Jax Chambers has got some serious knockout power. The heavy-handed Canadian Jax Chambers is on a sky-high for his pro career and feels like no one else in the division besides the champ can come close to matching his skillset, and so far that has held up perfectly, since losing his pro-MMA debut Jax has gone a perfect 7 for 7, 2 of those being under the bright lights of Conquest, and 4 of those being in Checkmate, where he has showcased some of the most devastating knockout power we have seen. He has taken out the likes of, Former Conquest Champion Jingky Bacolod (KO-RD#1-3:50), Former Conquest Title Challenger Augustin Cauchy (KO-RD#1-0:48), The former and inaugural Heavyweight Checkmate Champion Jon Nolan (Submission(Strikes)-RD#1-4:25), and most recently a short and sweet KO finish in just 1:37 over Mike Kownacki who was a perfect 8-0 at the time. Jax has some of the heaviest hands in the division and he knows how to use them. With that being said, so does his opponent, both men have finished all of their fights by way of TKO/KO within the first or second round. A combined 18 fight win streak and a perfect 100% finishing rate for both men make this a fight one you do not wanna miss! Our Co-Main event will be for the World Middleweight Championship when #5 ranked P4P and middleweight Champ Manco "The Good" Unknown (8-1)(4-0) looks to defend his belt against the undefeated #1 contender Mitch Malone (4-0)(4-0) The champ Unknown has done anything but be unknown as his last name states, in fact, he has made quite the name for himself in Checkmate, taking out some of the greats in the division. Manco has taken out some very tough competition such as Roku Takenaka, Former and inaugural Middleweight Checkmate Champion One Wonder, and First Name twice! Manco is currently #5 P4P and has looked every part of unstoppable in Checkmate so far, finishing all 4 of his bouts inside the promotion. Manco has a very well rounded skill set, he has finished half of his fights by way of TKO/KO and the other half by submission, he can truly do it all! Manco has already successfully defended his belt once back at Checkmate Championship 7 against First Name and now he will look to do it again against an undefeated prospect. Mitch Malone has gone a perfect 4-0 so far in his pro career and has unofficially never lost a round, I say unofficially because he has never seen the scorecards, he has finished all 4 of his bouts by way of TKO/KO. Malone hails from Stockton USA and currently resides and trains in Las Vegas. Malone has come a long way since debuting with Checkmate back at Checkmate Championship 2 and has not had one disappointing performance to date, he has taken out some of the superstars on his division, He is the only man to have ever beaten up and comer #5 ranked contender Obama Filth, who we will see fight on this card as well. However Malone's biggest victory came in his last bout against the Former Champ One Wonder, where Malone scored a 3rd round TKO stoppage over one of the greats to earn him this title shot, and now Malone looks to take full advantage and show the world why he deserves to be called the king of the middleweights! Both men share wins over One Wonder and Roku Takenaka. Manco Unknown finished both in a combined time of 7:59. Mitch Malone finished both in 21:22. Will going those extra rounds with tough competition help Malone get the victory over the champ? Or will Manco get an early finish and become the first man to defeat Malone?! (185) - #4 Bhishma Chontamenti (4-2)(3-0 in CC) vs #5 Obama "The Chinese" Filth (3-1)(2-1 in CC) With the middleweight belt being on the line in the co-main event, this high caliber middleweight bout could determine who gets the next title shot! (155) - #3 Manja "Picassso" Sha (5-3)(2-2 in CC) vs #6 Kaino Ukkonen (3-1)(2-1 in CC) Both men are coming off the biggest wins of their careers, and with neither of them have faced the champion yet, a big win could put them in the talks for a title shot! (155) - #2 Paulo "The Beast" Correia (5-1)(2-1 in CC) vs #4 Simon Busch (5-2)(1-2 in CC) Two of the very best lightweights that are both looking to get back in the win column with a huge divisional win! (265) - #6 Mike "Hammer" Kownacki (8-1)(2-1 in CC) vs Ashwin Tyson (1-0)(0-0 in CC)(1-0 in KT) Kownacki is coming off the first loss in his pro career, Tyson is coming off the first fight of his promising career, who will take it? The up and comer? Or the vet? (170) - #7 Jorge Adesanya (4-4)(4-3) vs Pedro Vela (4-4)(2-3 in CC) Both men were apart of the Knight Battle Tournament and now both men will look to pick up a big win at the expense of the other! (205) - Clinch King "Razor" Smash Machine (4-3)(4-3 in CC) vs Gilberto Silva (5-5)(2-1 in CC) The king has returned? After 3 back to back losses Machine wanted some time to train and work on his gaps, and who better to welcome him back than KO artist Gilberto Silva?! (265) - Dalton Swas (3-2)(2-2 in CC) vs Admir Bosnic (6-5)(0-1 in CC) A heavyweight bout between two men that will be looking for the finish every opportunity they get! (170) - Alec Wolfe (0-1)(0-0 in CC) vs Blackout Mane (2-3) (0-2 in CC) Wolfe will be making his highly anticipated Checkmate debut against Blackout Mane, who has faced some very stiff competition so far in Checkmate but looks to get back to his winning ways, however, a win over Wolfe will be no easy task.
  11. I would love to see that rematch in the near future! From the looks of it, Greg unofficially won that first round too, which is another first for an opponent of Aztec! Very great fight! Congrats to both of you!
  12. I fully understand and agree with that! I appreciate the response and the vote!
  13. - Checkmate Championship 10 Spotlight Preview - http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1601063258ezgif.com-resize%20%2810%29.gif In our MAIN EVENNTTT OF THE NIGHT, we will see The One, The Only, P4P #1 greatest and Lightweight Champion Chief "Crazy" Aztec (12-0)(10-0 in CC) once again take on an undefeated prospect in #1 Greg "No Chance" Connor (4-0)(4-0 in CC) for the Lightweight belt! Alright come on, honestly, if you don't know who Chief Aztec is by now then I don't know what you have been reading, but just in case you don't, let me try to give a list of his accomplishments without running of breath...(Or I guess without my fingers going numb since I'm typing lol!) Aztec is the Checkmate The Crowning 155 tournament champion, Has the most wins inside of Checkmate, Most KO/TKO wins inside Checkmate, He is the first fighter inside Checkmate to get 10 wins within the promotion, He is the Inaugural Lightweight champion and the only Inaugural champion that is still champion. He has the most title defenses of all champions, He has the longest active win streak, his opponents had a combined record of 35-6 at the time of their bouts with Aztec, He was also the first and currently the only fighter to be featured on Checkmate Championship's Newspaper (We will try to get more issues of the paper out soon!). He has only ever been to a second-round once and He also has an act to take undefeated fighters from the ranks of unbeaten and hand them their first loss, the list goes on, Aztec is truly a superstar in every aspect of the word. However, across from him will be #1 ranked undefeated talent Greg Connor (4-0)(4-0 in CC) who will do everything to make sure that it will be Cheif who will be losing his 0 and walk out with that superstar status by getting his hand raised. Connor has spent his whole pro career with Checkmate and made very quick work in his first 3 outings where he finished Alain Njoku by KO in 0:20, Lloque Yupanqui by KO in 0:36, Steven Pelican by KO with a SUPERMAN PUNCH in 0:26 seconds. Then he faced Volodymyr Pravda where they had a war and a FOTN performance! Connor will also be stepping in the cage with the help of his top 35 manager in his corner. On paper, Connor looks like he will have a slight Muay Thai and Wrestling advantage, and both men have a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Connor has been fighting in Checkmate since before Aztec was the champ so he has had some time to study and analyze the champ and his nickname is "No Chance" and so far he has lived up to that nickname, but the question is, can he truly dominate the champion and take that 155-pound belt away from him and become just the second lightweight champion in Checkmate history?!?!?! In our Co-Main event of the night, the Light-Heavyweight belt will be up for grabs when the champion and the #3 P4P greatest Blake Phoenix "Version 2.0" (6-0)(2-0 in CC) looks to defend his belt for the second time against a fighter that has also been perfect in his career so far in #2 Ivan "Bricks" Kalcevski (8-0)(1-0 in CC) The champion, Phoenix is coming off a big win against current #3 ranked Orvar Odd Lodinkinni back at Checkmate Championship 7 by a 50:45x2, 50:46 Unanimous Decision, but facing and beating top talent is nothing new for the champ Phoenix, as he also has wins over the likes of P4P #4 and Featherweight champion Magnificent Chulalongkorn and Former Checkmate Light-Heavyweight champion and #8 P4P greatest and #1 for his division Lukasz Wieczorek, Blake beat both by Unanimous Decision. With the competition, he has faced and world-class well-rounded skillset, Phoenix looks to be a promising long time champion that contenders will fear. One man that will have absolutely no fear however will be his opponent Ivan Kalcevski, who has a perfect record at 8-0 and has finished all 8 of his wins by way of TKO/KO, and 7 of those being in the first round. We last saw the 20-year-old Macedonia native in his Checkmate debut back at Checkmate Contenders 5 where he got a first-round TKO and took Jonty Egburt from the ranks of undefeated and proved he belonged under the bright lights of Checkmate, Although this will just be his second fight in Checkmate, this title shot is more than earned for the #2 ranked contender Kalcevski, with his Knockout power and likewise well-rounded skillset he will look to put it all on display and dethrone champ Phoenix "Version 2.0" who has not even lost a single round in his career. Rest of the main card! (265) - #2 Tank Abbott Tribute (6-1)(2-1 in CC) vs #3 Anton Gardner (6-3)(1-1 in CC)(FC) (265) - #9 Augustin Cauchy (9-3)(1-1 in CC) vs Olusola "The Destroyer" Oni (6-5)(5-3 in CC) (205) - #8 Hurricane Defoe (4-0)(4-0 in CC) vs #10 Choctaw Bloode (4-2)(1-2 in CC) A list of our stacked prelims! (205) - Willy "Coco" Mataitai (3-1)(0-1 in CC) vs Tarmo "TRT" Rajantaka (3-2)(0-1 in CC) (265) - Joey Hernandez (4-4)(1-2 in CC) vs Bloodsport Unknown (3-4)(1-1 in CC) (145) - Sammie Conner (2-1)(2-1 in CC) vs Pull "Antt" Plugger (4-3)(2-2 in CC) (265) - Earnie Shavers (2-2)(1-2 in CC) vs Deontay DJ (2-4)(1-2 in CC) (145) - Siete DiMaio (2-2)(1-2 in CC) vs Abunazir "AR" Kindzal (4-8)(0-3 in CC)
  14. - New Poll! - Hello everyone! When I was making the most recent updated rankings I had an idea, but I wanted to hear FROM YOU before I made it official! ok so the idea is to give the champs more credit in the rankings by putting their avatar along with the checkmate belt in the background for the rankings, almost as if they are looking over the division watching the contenders grow, and for the contenders it gives them a sight for the future, so you can look forward to punching that face behind the rankings and get your own face on it for others to want to punch. lol. Here are some examples of what I am talking about. So let me know what you think by voting in the poll! If you like the "old" classic rankings with just the checkered background like in the post right before this one, vote for old! If you like the idea and example of the "new" rankings let me know by voting for new! I will probably leave the poll up just for a few days or until the next rankings update, so make sure you get your vote in early! Looking forward to seeing the results! (EDIT) : Results! - Sticking with the classics!
