  1. Alpha-1 Clash of Champions Ladies and Gentleman, Clash of Champions presented by Alpha-1 is live this Saturday night and boy do we have a night of knockouts that will be instore for you. The Main event sees the light heavyweight champion Cerberus Dionisy battle the cruiserweight champion Juha Niska in what should be a battle of epic proportions. We will see experienced legends and fighters return to the cage. My name is Tycoon Hec and I am filling in this weekend for the artist that is Jimmy Normal. Just want to take a quick moment and say thankyou for the opportunity to write for you all and what a great card this will shape out to be! I look forward to presenting you a preview of what we should expect. Fight odds are ever changing and are currently up for the take. Lets go ahead and step right into the cage. Emilio Rojas vs Mario Bendetti Welterweight Matchup “La Bomba” Emilio Rojas (26-19) earned his nickname after going on a series of knockout victories finishing his opponents in violent fashion. Fans of the bomber are stoked to see him return to the octagon against an experienced legitimate finisher in Mario Bendetti (20-5). Bendetti, who is making his long awaited return to the cage after a five month layoff has returned with a new manager, new sparring partners, and new coaches that will look to elevate him to his 21st victory and beyond. Since signing with Alpha-1 Bendetti has looked to be a viable threat to the title and an eventual title holder. He will have to get through some intense tests including Rojas if he wishes to hold the belt in the future. Speaking with coaches at Spartan MMA they have shared with us that Bendetti is not the same fighter that we had seen in November and that his overall game has improved. La Bomba is coming off of two knockout losses in his recent fights and at the age of 39 is entering the twilight of his career. Rojas is hoping to make one final run for the title and safely put away the newfound threat that is Bendetti but the youthfulness of the 30 year old may prove to be too much for Rojas. Prediction: Bendetti stops Rojas in the first round with a flurry of strikes and puts his name in fighters to avoid other welterweights. Jerome Steel vs Ara Tiotio Heavyweight Matchup Jerome “Hands of” Steel (19-16) has 19 wins in his professional career and 18 of those come by way of knockout. To say this guy is blood thirsty is an understatement. Whether it is by flying knee or by cutting his opponents open and forcing the doctors to step in, this guy swings from bell to bell and his opponent Ara “Turtle” Tio Tio (22-7) will have his hands full come Saturday night. The former Synchronicity fighter who has just recently made his transition to Alpha-1 fully expects to outwork Steel and be the 17th fighter to claim victory over him. Fans of Tio Tio have been seen posting on Buzz saying Tio Tio breaks Steel! The two heavyweight fighters have a lot of respect for one another and will certainly have so much more after the fight on Saturday evening. Before making the transition to Alpha-1, Ara Tio Tio was on a four fight losing streak all via knockouts. His career had a fast start and slowly he started to see it go down the drain. He was released from the promotion and has since started to look for a motivation factor. Under new manager Monkey Business, Tio Tio has got his first knockout victory and is seeing the bright lights of victory yet again. Steel is coming into this match-up with a load of confidence knowing that his opponent Tio Tio will likely rush in and will catch a head kick or right hook and Steel will walk away climbing the rankings yet again. Prediction: Steel finishes Tio Tio and sends him back tumbling in his career with another knockout loss. Ciro Terranova vs John Edwards Middleweight Match-up Allow me to start this off with the following sentence, put money on it that this will be the fight of the night! Ciro “The Artichoke King” Terranova (29-13) is a five time fight of the night winner and holder of 20 knockouts. The Artichoke King is a recent take into Alpha-1 coming over from Pulse Fighting where he had a mixed record. John “Samurai” Edwards (22-13) hopes to welcome the Artichoke King to Alpha-1 through one of his famous submission victories. The four time fight of the night winner usually rips the arms off his opponents to walk away with his submission victories but with his high agility rating and punch technique has no qualms with trading shots with his opponents. Terranova has a high output of strikes against his opponents and looks to land as many shots as he can when his opponents are face to face with him. It is safe to say that Terranova loves to rearrange faces and will plan to do just that against Edwards on Saturday. I had the chance to connect with some of Randalls Top Team coaches and they shared with us that they know Edwards will look to get this fight to the ground and does not desire to stand and trade with such a fearsome striker as Terranova but that by the end of the night, the entire middleweight division will be put on notice of the terror that is Terranova. There seems to be no concern for Edwards camp about what their opponents know or don't know, they believe that Edwards is miles above Terranova and will get him to the ground and force him to tap by the sound of the second bell. Prediction: Terranova is going to be a new star in Alpha-1 and will begin that process come Saturday night with another shocking knockout victory. Inspektor Bee vs Desi Kraag Heavyweight Matchup Former heavyweight champion Inspektor Bee (17-11) is returning to the cage this Saturday night taking on top contender and win streak runner Desi “Forgettable” Kraag (18-19). Kraag, who has been finishing his recent opponents, mostly by knockout, has his eyes set on getting a title shot against the former champion by knocking him out and he believes he will easily do just that. Inspektor Bee has a close friend in Inspektor Dee who had faced Desi earlier on his career, finishing him by knockout. Rumors are that the two Inspectors have been training in preparation for this matchup. A response from Kraags fans have been widely heard across Buzz saying Kraag is not the same fighter who he once was. Bee who has been training out of St. Petersburg holds fast to seeing his name in lights again and welcoming the heavyweight title to his home gym but to do that against Kraag is a massive test for him to overcome. It surely is a number one contender match-up for both of these guys. This fight has all the makings of knockout of the night written all over it and it will surely come down to a lot more than a powerful punch or kick. In his most recent outing, Kraag submitted his opponent via guillotine a blackbelt in BJJ. He believes that anywhere this fight takes him he can easily topple Bee and send him falling down the rankings even further. Prediction: Kraag via referee stoppage late in the third round. MAIN EVENT: Cerberus Dionisy vs Juha Niska Light Heavyweight Championship When champions of two divisions meet in the center of the ring, fans expect explosions. This Saturday night's main event will be filled with explosive action as the Light Heavyweight Champion Cerberus Dionisy (13-1) who is currently riding a twelve fight winning streak defends his belt against the dangerous and talented Cruiserweight Champion Juha Niska (18-5) who is on a four fight win streak of his own. In a match that is sure to bring all the fireworks we will look to see Dionisy impose his dynamite hands on Niska and earn himself another knockout victory but this time to the cruiserweight champion in Niska. Niska who has been very intentional about working on his striking defense in this upcoming match has been showing vast improvements in his footwork and counter striking abilities and will prove to be the toughest match of Cerberus career. Fight fans are looking at this fight almost questioning why Dionisy had accepted this match up showing that his lack of experience may be his downfall in this fight as Niska will dance around and outpoint him all the way to the judges score cards. Odds are currently pretty even at (-150) for each fighter and it will not take long for fight fans to throw down their money when they see these two weigh-in Friday night. The matchup between these two Alpha legends breaks down in pretty simple ways, both guys prefer to strike and both guys tend to get hit quite a bit. Niska will look to move into the clinch game where he has been dominant so far in his career, however the Black Belt with sensational wrestling may also look to impose some ground skills against Dionisy who is regularly taken to the ground in all of his fights. Dionisy on the other hand has a very straight forward attitude about most of his fights, go in and hit. Dionisy will aim and land, while missing some strikes, It's the Ngannou-like power this guy possesses that will even put heavyweights away. I had a chance to meet up with Karim Johnson, who is the Cruiserweight champion of Combate and regularly spars with Dionisy and he put the situation simply for me, Cerberus hits like a heavyweight and moves like a featherweight. Despite the loyalty these two camps have for their fighters, the fact remains that both these guys have bad intentions. Prediction: Niska repeats his result two years ago on May first and gets his second knockout loss. Cerberus, who may be lesser in experience, will prove to be too much on the stand-up and tear through Niskas defense.
  2. Highland 30 Odd Job vs Dick Winters Ladies...Gentleman...Highland 30 is back with what promises to be a night filling the fight fans dreams of finishes after finishes. Undefeated fighters advancing their careers while others take steps back. The welterweight title is on the line as two phenomenal submission artists go at it and numerous potential contenders for various belts compete. This entire week has a ton of up and fights and promises to be non stop excitement. My name is Tycoon Hec and I am not entirely sure my predictions are 100 percent this time but after careful review, and if forced to put money down, the predictions I have made are what I think we will see. Do you agree? Disagree? Let me know in the comments! Odd Job vs Dick Winters Welterweight title The newly crowned welterweight champion of Highland, Odd Job (4-0) will be taking on his fellow teammate and sparring partner Dick Winters (4-0) this Sunday night in a battle that is fully expected to be an intense grappling match. Both fighters who have pretty poor form when it comes to striking, have no qualms with settling their issues on the ground to discover who is not just the best welterweight at Acme training but in Highland overall! Odd Job, who has just recently won his title against Maurice Tillet in a grueling guillotine last Sunday, feels completely prepared to step back in the cage against another submission specialist in Winters. Dick, who has submitted 3 of his 4 opponents, in the first round, believes he will be able to secure the chokes to and provide Job with his first loss. When it comes to the ground game it is no question that Winters prefers to be on top position.Winters has a tendency to transition all the way to mount but has no problem with locking in submissions from guard or the back as well. Job has a desire to be on the top position too but has no qualms with being off his back where he has submitted some of his dangerous opponents. I reached out to Eli Pump the BJJ coach at Acme and he shared with me that both of these fighters roll with each other every Wednesday and due to that frequency in sparring these guys know each like the back of their hand. They know each other's tricks and preferences and they also know where they are weak and both fighters will look to exploit that. The ranking in the belt does not seem to concern Winters as he has already defeated a purple belt in his career and believes that Job will tap before the end of the 5th round. A curious thing to note is that we have yet to see Odd Job defend a submission. No one has ever attempted a submission on him, and for his sparring partner Winters to be the first to do that seems as if it is a victory in itself. On the other hand, we have seen Winters carefully defend submission attempts from a purple belt fighter in the past however the level of skill is honestly quite wide. The question we have to ask is does the aggressive ground game of Odd Job prevail or will Winters show that Job has no defensive grappling ability. Prediction: Dick Winters pulls off a stunning submission from mount late in the third round. Enzo Williams vs Hank Pecker Middleweight Match-up Perhaps the most experienced fighter not only in Highland but in the Island overall is Enzo Williams (6-1). The highly experienced and underrated Enzo is a middleweight submission specialist. His opponent in Hank Pecker (2-1) is a dangerous submission artist in his own right. The blue belt out of Cozad considers that he can win this fight through submission or through ground and pound. Pecker who is massively precise with his ground and pound will find a home with his punches and potentially be the second guy to finish Enzo on Sunday night. The fight really comes to who is on the top position. Peckers ground and pound game is too strong but if he does not transition and sits in guard he can be in serious trouble with Williams. Whereas Enzo has the wondrous ability to force anyone to submit but we are also quite aware that he has been knocked out before and Pecker has hands of steel. Enzo has been training at Walter J. Abramowitz center for bigness steadily improving in each aspect of his game but rumors are that he is been focused not only on his striking defense but the weights as well seeking to control and dominate Pecker. Fight Fans are in for a treat for as most believe this fight will kick off with immediacy and end before the end of the first round and I would have to agree. Prediction: I believe Pecker gets the takedown but Williams works submissions off his back securing the win. Vai Crackudo vs Grover Montoya Middleweight Match-up Honestly, my favorite fights are always undefeated fighters going at it. Two guys looking to take the other's zero is a fascinating feature. Vai Crackduo (2-0) a middleweight warrior with stones in his gloves, seems to be meeting his clone in Grover Montoya (2-0). Both fighters have insane knockout power. Crackduo has yet to go past the first round in a match and hopes he can put the fight away early. When comparing both fighters competitions it is quite difficult to understand who is truly the better striker. Crackduo has not fought guys with the skill sets of striking and had poor accuracy in his strikes with one of them. On the other hand, he knocks out fighters once he touches their chin. Montoya on the other hand seems to get the edge in the clinch and in distance with his opponents but it's not his ferocious knockout power that puts them away as much as it is his overwhelming consistency with landing strike after strike. A missing element that we have yet to see from Crackduo is his clinch game. A dominant wrestler and thai fighter who only has been seen punching his opponents is quite confusing. From what we have seen leading up to this matchup, it is fair to say this is Crackduo’s toughest test as a martial artist going against a guy who seems to be successful in all areas of combat and the highest level of striking that Crackduo has ever seen. Grover is facing a very similar challenge in regards to striking. His opponent who possesses dynamite in his hands will swing and land with bad intentions. Both of these aggressive fighters are certainly aware of the others' skill set and for their sake have a proper defense prepared. Prediction: I believe Grover keeps this fight on striking distance and defends most of Crackduos strikes. Harry Henderson vs Jens Neustadt Bantamweight Match-up When strikers meet with submission fighters we can always be on the edge of our seat until the magic happens. Harry Henderson (2-1) is a bantamweight submission terror defeating his last two opponents in the first round. One of his opponents he put in an arm triangle while the other was put into an Americana. The “Bigfoot” has a high takedown percentage and will aim to bring Jens down come Sunday night. Jens Neustadt (3-0) is an unbeaten bantamweight hailing from Berlin holding two knockout victories over opponents who really should have never stepped in the cage. Coaches at acme believe that the white belt game of Jens will pave the way for an additional submission win for Henderson in the beginning of the first round and it is quite easy to see their point. Jens who does not appear to be bothered by all the random predictions about this Sunday Nights fight does not feel Henderson will get him to the ground but should he be able to, Jens will be able to get back up. The Smash coaches preparing Jens feels that his ground game is too good defensively and he wont be stopped. Knowing full well Henderson will rush in with a takedown and continue to lock one in until he gets it, the coaches at smash expect some solid counter shots to be placed on Henderson's jaw. Fight fans are hoping to see a strong contender emerge for an eventual match-up with the living legend that is Noel Diaz. Prediction: Jens Neustadt presses this fight in the clinch and punishes Henderson while stuffing the takedown attempts. Archie Laird vs Franko Getaldic Light heavyweight Match-up In the first match on the main card, fight fans are treated to another striker versus grappler match up between two unbeaten fighters who hope to walk away with a performance bonus of some sort. Archie Laird (2-0) a wrestler with a purple belt in BJJ stomps his opponents on the ground with violent ground and pound but getting the fight to the ground against Franko Getaldic (1-0) may prove to be too tough for the “Grazy Irish”. It only took Franko 30 seconds in his first fight to put away another purple belt. Landing a high amount of punches in the first 30 seconds fight fans are excited to see this aggressive 25 year old return to action Sunday night. Fans of Getaldic have taken to buzz to remind viewers that Laird does not always complete his takedowns and due to that inconsistency they believe Franko will not only stop those takedown attempts but stop the hype train that is Laird. The question is if Franko destroyed a mediocre talent in striking in his last fight within a minute, what would he do to a fighter who has no striking game at all? Laird and his fans and coaches share no concern over the latest buzz as they recognize his past opponents held up a very strong wrestling defense game, stronger in fact than what we know of Frankos, and Laird was still able to get them down on the mat and wreck them. We know both of these fighters hold such skill in their fists but where they get to use that is the question. Latest betting reports have seen +500 to this fight ending within the first round and honestly, you would have to agree with the oddsmakers, this fight will probably end by the first. Prediction: Franko looks like a young Mike Tyson and his sparring partners at Island gym have properly prepared him for what will be an explosive path to victory. Fighter Spotlight “Anal Bread” Jorge Assvidal (2-0) Lightweight Fighter Jorge is a knockout artist formerly under the management of Ibrahim Camara who has since departed MMATycoon. Despite losing his manager and no longer involved in a regular training regime, Assvidal is a dangerous threat to anyone on the Island at lightweight right now. I am super interested to see not only how he performs without his manager but also who he signs with for management next!

  6. Supernova XI Synchronicity's April 25th event, Syn Supernova XI, is Live from Los Angeles at the LA memorial colosseuseum sponsored by My Balls is Hot clothing. This event sees some massive fighters and multiple titles on the line. Fans of the promotion are going to get the opportunity to witness a champion vs champion match-up that sees the two top middleweights in the game go at it for supremacy. Nearly one hundred thousand people will be in attendance to see some of the world's best go at it to see who really is supreme. Five of Synchronicities prized titles are on the line and some of the biggest names in the sport will be competing this Sunday night for what feels like an early birthday present for me! My name is Tycoon Hec and I am honored to provide for you an in-depth look into the fighters and the fights. This night will certainly change the landscape of the MMA world in more ways than one. Pekka Toivonen vs Edison Atunes Middleweight Match-up Champion of Synchronicity vs Champion of Stoners Fight League Two middleweight champions will go at it at Supernova XI and they hail from two rival organizations: Synchronicity and Stoners Fight League! Pekka “PunchMaster General” Toivonen (32-10) is the holder of the Middleweight championship for Synchronicity and is by all one of the greatest to ever grace the middleweight division. Twenty-Eight of Pekkas wins come by knockout and nine of those in the very first round. Since Syn 678, Pekka has had an on again off again relationship with the middleweight title winning it a total of four times. Currently riding a four fight win streak, he has a ton of momentum moving into this title defense. His opponent won't be a walk in the park. Edison Atunes (23-0) who goes by the nickname Zico, meaning Great Strength, has certainly displayed that in almost every single fight. The Stoners Fight League Middleweight Champion is widely recognized as one of the most vicious strikers on the planet! Regarded as the number 1 pound for pound fighter in his weight class, Atunes has finished 22 of his 23 opponents by knockout. Since Atunes signing to Stoner Fight League in mid July of 2020, he has been crowned not just the champion of SFL but the Champion of all middleweights in mixed martial arts. Zico has faced knockout artists as well as submission artists of high caliber and has left them all in the dust. Black Belts could not pull off a submission victory while Boxing practitioners could not wobble the young superstar. The New York resident who trains out of Crassus was putting in some heavy work on the bags while I had the chance to connect with one of his coaches Brad Soto, Soto had mentioned how Edison is by far the hardest working athlete in the gym and he is there well after everyone else goes home and there before everyone gets there. He spoke about the need Edison has for being the first person to knock out the dangerous Pekka Toivonen. It was not until I had this conversation with Soto that I myself had realized Pekka has never been knocked out either. A fight that is seemingly going to stay on the feet and be an all out slugfest really does not favor one man more than the other. Both are extremely accurate with their strikes and both have a tendency to put away their opponents in violent fashion. At this level of competition it is quite difficult for us to give an edge to one fighter over another and one has to wonder if you really can. Despite them being close in rank, Pekka is now 35 years old and entering the twilight of his career. Suffering multiple losses and taking loads of punches to his head fight fans are speculating that Antunes will put him away with his Zico power. On the other hand, Antunes who is 28 may be looking at this as an easy win but experience is a factor that can not be ignored and one thing about the PunchMasters experience is he usually edges out in striking warfare. Critics of Edison have claimed that Pekka is his first actual test and that all of his previous opponents had no real name to them but were just rising talent while critics of Pekka have claimed he takes too much punishment and is one dimensional. I think we can all safely assume that this fight will be on the feet and someone is going to sleep. Prediction: Pekkas experience weighs in and catches Edison as he looks to clinch late in the third round. Kilo Maluga vs Conor The Barbarian Heavyweight Title The Number 1 Pound for Pound fighter in the world and Heavyweight Champion of Synchronicity, Kilo “Bloodbath” Maluga (21-6) is not looking to take a rest after his latest knockout win against Sunray Spike where he finished the fight with a slick right hand. Instead he wants to get back in the mix and take on his longtime rival and current 265+ SFL Champion, Conor The Barbarian (25-5). Conor also competed recently, finishing his opponent McNasty when McNasty went in for the clinch. Despite both of these fighters recently winning in their last fight in dominant fashion, both suffered a cut that has worried both their teams and fans hoping that the cuts won't reopen on the 25th of April. Now ranked at Number 1 and Number 3 in the Heavyweight Division, had their first fight when their rankings were in triple digits. In the first match-up Maluga had initiated a clinch prevailing over what would later become his greatest rival, Maluga finished Conor via Knee. In the post fight interview, The Barbarian had said he would be back and was he right! They met again four months later and Conor did not want anything to do with Kilo's clinch game. He broke the clinch and landed a hellacious uppercut sending Kilo to the mat. The fight was soon stopped after a gash had spread just over Kilo’s eye. Several months later they both signed on with Synchronicity and agreed to face each other in a third match which saw both fighters look for that early knockout but it was Conor who landed a slick counter right hand ending the fight in the first round. They finally met for what seemed like the fourth and final time to end it all in what many fans consider the best of the match-ups between these two giants. Fans eagerly awaited another first round match-up but were instead treated to some of the masterful clinchwork that Kilo Maluga brings to the table. Maluga opened up a disastrous cut over the eye of Barbarian and landed a disturbing head kick sending him to the mat. No opponent knows the other better than these two know each other. On any given night it seems that one may be able to put the landing blow on the other and end it completely. In the first fight and fourth fight we saw a dominant clinch performance from Kilo so we are sure to believe Conor and his team have been properly planning on executing a game plan that will defend and end the chance of clinch game occurring. We know that Conor prefers to stand and trade with his high caliber of Muay Thai, he will not allow another head kick to sneak past him this time. Rumors have circulated that both of these guys are not expecting to close this fight with a quick finish but are anticipating a long drawn out war. With both of them having some serious scar tissue it is hard pressed to believe this fight will go past the 3rd round for me. Recently was able to connect with both Kilo and Connor's coaches. The two of them shared how confident and ready their fighters are going into this historic match-up and claim their fighter is the best version of themself. This is my prediction for knockout of the night and the fight I am eagerly awaiting to see go down. It is not too often as a fight fan we get these five time fights but now that we have it we have the pleasure of enjoying it! Prediction: Conor The Barbarian will shock the world as he steals the heavyweight title from Kilo in an impressive fashion knocking out Kilo Maluga with a counter head kick of his own! Just Whymer vs Mantak Garuda Light Heavyweight Title A rematch for the ages has all of Synchronicity fans anxiously awaiting for the bell to ring for this match-up. Two ferocious fighters in Just Whymer (29-11-3) and Mantak Garuda (22-3) go at it for the light heavyweight title a second time! Their first fight was just a couple months back when Just Whymer shocked the world and put the referee to work stopping the fight. Early in the first round Garuda seemed to be the more dominant fighter landing heavy shots and knocking Whymer down. Things started to take a turn when Whymer landed a clean One Two combo that opened up a cut over Garuda's eye. The cut only worsened from that point on and whymer was able to pour on the pressure. The cutman was working rapidly on that cut in hopes to get it fixed up before they started the second round but the mental damage had been done. Whymer landed a series of strikes that continued to open that cut up and the referee was really looking at stopping the fight. His vision thus impaired saw him eat an overhand right that put him out on his feet. The referee finally jumped in and stopped the fight. Proponents of Mantak claimed Just only took the win that night because of the cut and that he did not deserve to be the champion. Fans of Whymer state he was the more experienced and skilled fighter of the two. Mantak Garuda's most recent outing saw him compete against one dangerous striker and Abu Dhabi champion Al Din. Al landed dozens of strikes but only barely cut his opponent Gaurda open leaving many to speculate if Gaurda had some sort of surgery preventing any additional cuts to transpire. Just Whymer who was a champion for Synchronicity long ago made his return to the top. His grueling climbing of the ladder did not come without disappointments but after he started becoming more aggressive and putting his opponents to sleep it was hard to deny him the second opportunity any longer. The reality is we are dealing with two guys who want the spectacular finish and the light heavyweight title. Mantak will be looking for revenge while Whymer will be looking for another consecutive knockout finish and retaining his gold. Prediction: Mantak comes away with a highlight reel knockout and puts the strap around his waist once again! Slammy Neckbreaker vs Henrique Gusmao Lightweight Title The newly crowned lightweight champion Slammy Neckbreaker (23-11) looks to begin cementing his legacy with his first title defense against top contender Henrique Gusmao (29-8-1) in a fight that should see the fans on their feet for its entirety. Gusmao, the former lightweight champion, was on a four fight winning streak before losing his belt to Uesugi in a shocking upset. Winning every single round and with just 20 seconds left in the fight, Uesugi went for broke and forced the referee to step in stopping the fight in what otherwise would have been a third successful title defense for Gusmao. Shortly after that defeat we saw Slammy Neckbreaker jump in and snatch the title from Uesugi by utilizing his boxing ability with decent accuracy. Slammy mixed up his shots going high and going low until the final bell. In their first ever fight both fighters are anticipating the other to stay on the feet and look for accurate shots. Gusmao, who by all accounts is a striking master, looks to bring about many kicks against Neckbreaker forcing him into a kickboxing match where he will aim to get the finish. In connecting with his coaches, Neckbreaker is so well rounded that wherever the fight ends up, he should be able to pull off a finish. They spoke about how his level in BJJ is too dangerous for Gusmao and that it would be a mistake for Gusmao to go to the ground with him so they are fully anticipating a stand-up battle. On the other side of that Gusmao has knocked out 24 of his 29 wins and his coaches believe that he will be the first opponent to put away Neckbreaker via knockout. Gusmao the taller fighter will look to use his height and reach advantage in all forms of striking and will probably only use the clinch on a need to do basis. Neckbreaker will probably end up looking to secure a takedown and employ a log of ground and pound intending to drain the energy from Gusmao. The ideal situation for both of these guys varies quite a bit with Henrique looking to defend any takedown attempt. We have rarely seen Gusmao taken down but we saw it twice with his opponent in Louis CK who took him down once in the clinch and once in striking range. Gusmao later finished the fight via knockout but the question fight fans have to wonder is what does it look like if Neckbreaker gets the takedown on Gusmao? If Neckbreaker doesn't get the fight on the ground how does the fight play out for him in the standup and can he trade five rounds comfortably with arguably one of the best strikers in the game today? Prediction: Gusmao will outpoint and out strike Neckbreaker playing a predominantly counter striking game capturing gold yet again. Jorge Cruz Jr. vs Sunray Spike Heavyweight Match up Two top ten Heavyweights look to assert their dominance in the Heavyweight world on April 25th as Jorge “The Colossus” Cruz Jr. (26-13) battles the always dangerous Sunray Spike (33-14-1). The 6’8 and 6’5 giants have always held an impressive resume when it came to striking with their opponents. Cruz Jr. has finished 24 of his 26 opponents via knockout while Sunray Spike has finished 28 of his 33 opponents via knockout. With almost a ten year age gap between these two fighters, fans have been throwing their money on the side of Jorge believing Spike to be old for the fight game now and that he will eventually be caught by one of Colossus' dangerous punches. Jorge who has been continuing to train at Randalls Top Team believes that with another exciting finish over a top contender like Sunray Spike, he will be pushed into title contention. Prior to losing to Kilo Maluga, Spike was enjoying a 6 fight win streak, finishing a majority of his opponents in incredible fashion. Jorge will have taken note that Spike was easily controlled in the clinch and may look to employ that tactic in this upcoming match and land ferocious blows to put the fight away. Spike, who is still on the quest for gold for Syn, considers himself to be ever improving and may catch Jorge with a head kick late in the opening rounds. This is no walk in the park for either fighter and will be a top contender for fight of the night. Sunray in his most recent fights in the Syn cage, has not outstruck his opponents but often landed a shot that put them out for the night. He will be banking on his one punch or one kick finishes to do the job against Jorge Cruz Jr. Jorge has a tendency to not only out strike his opponents but also finish them when he lands. Spike will have to be aware of the dangerous levels of accuracy that Jorge holds in his arsenal and be prepared that this younger lion is looking to get his name in the history books by defeating a legend like Sunray. Recently, I had the chance to meet up with Spikes coaches and gym mates over at Heavy Metal while watching him train. I asked about the recent loss against Kilo and they all chimed in saying they have never seen a more motivated Sunray Spike ready to put on a performance of a lifetime. He has punished sparring partners and pushed the pace of his entire team rising to a new level. They believe he thinks he is able to be a champion before all is said and done and that losing to a great fighter like Kilo wasn't that hard of a loss for him to receive. On the other side of the coin everyone was quite shocked to see Jorge knockout the legend that is Rick Piano and believes that he is on a new high and will be in title contention soon as well. Prediction: Jorge Cruz Jr. will outpoint Sunray and evade his attacks scoring a tko finish late in the third. Finnish Experiment II vs Akio Kurosaki Featherweight Title When Akio Kurosaki (14-7) defends his featherweight title against Finnish Experiment II (27-15) fight fans can be guaranteed of a striking masterclass. Both fighters are recognized as elite strikers in their own right landing with a slight edge of striking prowess to Finnish Experiment. It is rare either one of these guys choose to go to the ground in a match so fight fans can expect this will either be a knockout or a decision victory for one of these two warriors. Since winning the title from one of the greatest featherweights to grace the Syn casein Manny Puno, pushing him into retirement, Akio has been ready to defend his featherweight belt. The 7th ranked legend killer is aiming to send the 36 year old into retirement for his first title defense just as he did with Puno. The Finnish Experiment is no walk in the park for any fighter with 18 of his 27 wins coming by way of knockout. It is safe to say that Experiment capitalizes on a finish when the opportunity is presented before him. In his last seven matches Experiment has won 6 of those fights only losing via decision to Manny Puno. Critics of Finnish say this is exactly why Akio will dominate him because he was able to do what Experiment was unable to do. Coaches of The Lab, where Finnish trains, have claimed they have never seen a more motivated and hungry version of him. The pace he is working at is relentless and his desire to be the featherweight champion of Syn is really propelling a new culture in the entire gym. Despite Akios recent loss against Golovkin, his fans have noticed a direct shift with him now that he is under new management in Bjorn O’Donnel. The Belgium native is always in regular attendance for his fighter and is often seen training with his fighters in preparation for their fights. This type of management has instilled an almost unshakeable confidence in Akio that has been in regular display since the beginning of their time together. It is a decent match up on all accounts but this fight will prove who is the best synchronicity featherweight once and for all. When comparing these two fighters one important note is that Finnish, in all of his most recent losses, only fought fighters who focused on taking him down while Akio has hardly ever chosen to take an opponent down. Akio is a dangerous puncher and is known for bringing opening cuts on his opponents so hopefully Finnish can keep his hands high and not succumb to a stoppage from a cut. Prediction: Finnish Experiment takes the title via decision from an all out drag out fight of the night potential! Badr Al Din vs Bull Mfer Light Heavyweight Match The Number one contender matchup for the Light Heavyweight title is minutes before the title will be on the line. Badr Al Din (21-14) hopes to bring his 17th finish to the cage and avenge his loss when he takes on Bull Mfer (24-12). This rematch has excitement written all over it as Al Din was on a finishing frenzy before his most recent fight against Garuda. Knocking out and Submitting his opponents Al Din was beginning to look unstoppable and fans of his willingly chime into let us know he still is. The now 33 year old prize fighter has made some recent adjustments to his fight game in preparation for Bull Mfer and his gym mates are certain we will witness Badr take the Number One contender spot in extraordinary fashion. Bull Mfer who has been in title talk regularly has yet to hold the Synchronicity belt but it is beginning to feel almost inevitable that he will be the champion by the end of the year, provided he gets through the Tasmanian Jesus. Bull Mfer has finished more than half of his opponents via knockout and feels he can be the eighth person to knock out Badr Al Din. Despite the incredible match-up this will be between these two fighters it is also an insane match between two amazing managers who have outstanding winning records. Chris Karter who manages Badr and Ispa Murhapuro who cares for Bull. These two guys know how to get the job done when it comes to having their fighters fight so a lot of pride is on the line on this one. Recent news out of Convicted Fight Club has reported that Badr Al Din is knocking out sparring partners and destroying punching bags. His intensity is something that probably won't be matched when he takes on Bull Mfer. Kilo Maluga, the Synchronicity Heavyweight champion who also trains at Convicted Fight Club stated that, “at the rate Al Din is going he will be knocking out heavyweights!” The punch power is not something we are just learning about. We have been quite aware of Al Din's strength for a while but we see an additional motivating factor, and that is to seek revenge and get the title. In their last matchup we watched a hotly contested even match. Both fighters were headhunters looking for that knockout blow. Perhaps the main significant difference was Bull had a far greater output than his opponent. Bull initiated the clinch game where he mixed it up well and utilized a ton of leg kicks. I imagine this upcoming match we will see both fighters intent on leaving the other one out for the count. The judging was definitely all over the place and truthfully was hard to score. With both of these fighters knowing full well what the other will bring to the table it will be quite interesting to see how this plays out. Whatever the case, we can go in with confidence that this will be a kickboxing matchup all day. Prediction: Badr Al Din will take this fight by 2nd round knockout. Dany Crosby vs Demon Monkey Welterweight Title Match When the Welterweight title is on the line, folks tune in. Coming in on a four fight win streak, Dany Crosby (24-16-1) has the looks of a new fighter. The former kickboxing fighter holds around 23 knockouts in his mma career stemming primarily from his punch power. His opponent in Demon Monkey (28-18-1) is no slouch himself when it comes to the stand-up game holding 16 wins of his own via knockout and a majority of them coming by way of knockout this guy is certainly a threat to any fighter who wishes to go toe to toe with him. Demon, who has been training at Tosens Home for Lost Boys, has been working diligently on his sparring game with the likes of Pekka Toivonen the middleweight champion of Synchronicity and Dick Caunt the pulse fighting featherweight champion. Rumors are that he has been moving around the gym like a mad man aggressively working on improving his defensive abilities against Crosby. Dany is no doubt going to have his hands full come Sunday night but if his last four fights are anything to go by, we can safely assume he has studied Monkey inside and out and looks to exploit chinks in his armor. Crosby’s team have shared that they do not believe Demon Monkey realizes what he has stepped into when he signed for Synchronicity, that this step up in competition will see him struggle to survive and eventually he will find himself out the doors. Crosby’s coaches have also shared that since his arrival to Synchronicity he has won six of his eight matchups and wont stop until his name is in the Hall of Fame as the goat of welterweights. The now 37 year old is entering into the twilight of his career and with dynamite in his fists looks to go out on his shield or put others on it every time he steps into the cage. Monkey may not be the most fearsome opponent Crosby has faced but he is by all accounts a legitimate threat to the current title holder and believes he has the recipe for disaster come Sunday Night. Occasionally utilizing the kicking game, Monkey has a high output of punches and unfortunately for him receives quite a bit as well. The 36 year old Monkey believes that he does not have to stop Crosby to win the title, all he has to do is outscore him and people will indeed recognize him as a talented and dangerous champion. It certainly is no easy endeavor as Crosby is someone who has been finishing multiple people knocking out guys who have rarely, if ever, been knocked out. Prediction: Dany Crosby shocks the audience landing some hellacious strikes dropping Monkey in the first round. Biff Raper vs Pauke Murhapuro Heavyweight Match-up Biff Raper (26-11) the 30 year old knockout artist coming in on a two fight win streak hopes to send his opponent Pauke Murhapuro (17-10) back to the b leagues. Pauke, the 28 year old from finland is primarily recognized as a submission specialist who hopes to pull off a second submission win against the always dangerous raper. When looking at their respected careers, Raper has only been submitted once and that was a long long time ago in what appeared to be a lucky submission from a guy who attempted numerous submission attempts. Biff got caught and ended up tapping. Since then, we have not ever seen another opponent submit Raper. Pauke who has been stopped three times in his career via knockout does not seem to be concerned with going against an electrifying puncher as Raper and believes he will be the one with his glove raised at the end of the night despite Rapers skillful ability to land strikes against and finishing his opponents. Many of Pauke’s fans believe that he was robbed in his match against Sunray Spike and believe he is truly on a six fight win streak. Pauke, who graciously accepted the loss, does hope to avenge it one day but is not allowing himself to become too big headed. He believes that his worst performances as a fighter are behind him and will eventually be recognized as a pound for pound great by the end of the year. He was so close to fighting for the title it has to bother him to the point that he wants to finish each opponent he matches up with going forward. Throughout Paukes career he has submitted three blackbelts and one brown belt so critics claiming that Biff’s BJJ game is too strong defensively fail to see that Pauke is a different animal on the ground and has forced people to tap who have never tapped before. Supporters of Raper reminded us that previous black belts were unable to stop him in their submission attempts and Pauke will be no different. So how does this fight actually play out? Biff Raper will look to control the fight on the feet and keep distance if possible. His takedown defense may have been what he has worked on quite a bit in the lead up to this fight but in the event he didn't he will hope to utilize that rigorously. If Biff keeps this fight away from the clinch and on the feet he will surely pull off the needed strikes to finish Pauke. Murhapuro will want to get this fight to the ground at all costs and look to control, whether that be from the clinch position or shooting in for a takedown that will be hsi goal. Biff will wiggle and shrimp his way back to the stand up as soon as he can and Pauke will just need to adapt looking to secure a sub against Biff. Prediction: Pauke will score a submission in the third round after receiving tons of punches to the body in the first and second round. People will be shocked and fans will be in an uproar but this will be my bet for submission of the night. Yardbird Knox vs Mister McNasty Heavyweight Match Fight fans around the world believe we will see a knockout of the ages when Knox takes on McNasty! Yardbird Knox (16-6) takes on Mister “White Tyson” McNasty (31-15-1) in what will be the first fight on the card this sunday night. In a fight many fight fans believe will not go the distance both fighters have been working on technique and sparring with persistent dedication. Knox was riding a 5 fight win streak before he recently lost to Pauke Murhapuro in what was a surprising submission finish. The blue belt in BJJ has worked tirelessly on his defensive skills in grappling so that this situation does not arise again in the future. His opponent in McNasty is not one who seems to go to the ground either but prefers to knock his opponents out cold on the feet. McNasty, king of the clinch game, will probably aim to force Knox into a situation where he is pressed up against the cage getting pummeled by strikes until he falls to the mat. Mister McNasty is looking to get back in the win column and stay there himself. As of recent, he has suffered two losses that have set him back quite a bit. Both fighters have been finished via knockout twice in their career and both thoroughly believe they are able to knock the other out. Knox will probably look to use his height and reach advantage being that he is 6’7 going against a guy who is 5’8. The English McNasty will look to get inside range quickly and violently, as his nickname would indicate. Despite the massive height difference, McNasty is accustomed to being the smaller brawler and believes that he will undoubtedly land dynamite body shots dropping the giant that is Knox. Reports from the gym of Knox say that he has been sparring with some of his lightweight friends to get a better feel for his own reach advantage in this upcoming match. Knoxs gym has also shared that his striking defense is looking better than before and may make a run for a boxing fight in the near future as he feels his hands are so much better than most of his opponents. He has been diligently working on his craft and many of his coaches and training partners truly believe Knox will soon be the champion of the heavyweight division. The same hope and excitement is said for McNasty by his coaches who believe the Piano fight was a fluke and his recent outing was simple tactical errors that have since been rectified. The path to victory in this one is really who is going to be the more accurate striker in the clinch and out of the clinch. Both guys have the ability to finish the other and both guys will be swinging with devilish intent but it's the fighter with the better boxing skills that will pull this one off in my opinion. Prediction: Yard Bird knox takes this one for me. I believe he stuns his opponent McNasty with dozens of strikes and jumps in for the finish. So there you have it! Supernova XI preview! Do you agree? Do you Disagree? Let me know in the comments below! As always, thank you Chuck for hiring me on to write up a preview for you guys. See you all Sunday night!
  7. Highland 26 a quick preview Highland continues to produce some of the best fights in the game right now and tonight's main event is another testament to that. From submission match-ups to striking matchups to well rounded fighter match-ups Highland 26 is going to make your head spin! Noel DIaz and Millard Masters is the most talked about fight of the day today and we had to show up to give you a quick preview. Unlike other previews this one does not go into too much detail, does not have a fighter spotlight, and wont have links for the reader but feel the freedom to read the main card previews. Agree? Disagree? Let me know on your thoughts below. Noel Diaz vs Millard Masters 135lbs Bantamweight Title You already knew I had to write a review for one of my favorite fighters in Noel Diaz (3-0). His upcoming match against a blue belt submission specialist, Millard Masters (3-0) makes for one the most anticipated Bantamweight events of Island history. When these two square off on the cage later this evening it is necessary to know one thing, someone will tap out. It may not be the most entertaining of fights for many people but if you are an MMA enthusiast you will be drooling about this upcoming match up. Noel Diaz, a decorated brown belt in BJJ, enjoys clinching with his opponents and pulling guard immediately. A lanky fighter who enjoys the submission game off his back has no concern with being in that position. His opponent in Masters has a strong tendency to blitz the takedown on his opponents and work for the submission. One guy prefers being on his back and appears to prefer working from the top. Neither fighter really spends much time with the ground and pound efforts as they rather aim to control and improve their position. A majority of fans are siding with the current champion to pull off the victory as he has a tendency to immediately lock in submissions when he attempts them whether that be against white belts or more experienced brown belt opponents. MIllard Masters does have a tendency to constantly work until he finally locks one in but we have seen him struggle to lock submissions on fighters with a lesser understanding of the grappling game. We know both of these guys have been working on weights at their local gyms and drilling the grappling quite a bit. For Millard Masters to secure a victory here, he must improve position to mount and mix in ground and pound against the talkative Noel Diaz. Despite that being a hard feat for most fighters it is certainly possible for Masters. Diaz's path to victory seems a lot more clear whereas should Diaz hold him in a position and set up a triangle he may be able to tighten the grip on one and force masters to take a few steps down in rankings. Harrison and Karelin, two of the top coaches at Smash Fighting have shared with me that they have seen such quickness with Masters in his transitions that they don't believe Diaz had an opponent he faced remotely similar to that on the ground. Diaz on the other side of the table has been training over at Tez’s Stand and Bang normally working on his striking defense he spent a large portion of this camp hitting the weights and circuit training. After yesterday's BJJ sparring session, Miguel Souza a brown belt and Highlands featherweight champion told us he believes that Diaz submits masters in the first and puts the entire division on notice that he is levels above them on the ground. Prediction: Diaz has his toughest challenge against him on the ground but i believe he pulls it off via triangle. I believe he will be placed in uncomfortable positions multiple times from Masters and have to transition out of many positions before he locks a sub attempt in. Valerio Falto vs Ambros Taube 135lbs Match up The unbeaten Sicilian sensation, Valerio “Siciliano” Falto (2-0) has his first fight in the Island since joining from QFC. Despite his deplorable gym, Cozad, his teammates have shared they love having the Siciliano in the gym as he is so motivated to becoming the champion of Highland in the near future and that motivates all of them as well. A fighter with two first round submissions against much easier opponents will have his hands full when he tries to takedown “Immortal” Ambros Taube (2-2). Taube who has twice as much experience in the cage as Falto will look to keep the fight standing as much as possible and catch Falto with his accurate punches. Taube has suffered both a knockout and submission in his career so it is safe to say that Falto will be looking to those fights to see what he can employ to his path to victory. Falto and his Coazd buddies seem very confident that he will easily take down Taube and secure a submission later this evening and move his tally to three wins. The path to victory looks very clear for both fighter, Taube has to land those punches in bunches and drop Falto. Falto must gain that takedown or allow Taube to get a takedown and work for submissions. A purple belt in BJJ against a White Belt seems pretty simple how that goes but it will all come down to the takedown abilities. However this fight goes, Falto, PLEASE find a better gym. Prediction: Valerio Falto takes Ambros down on his second attempt and locks in a dangerous kimura all but breaking the arm of Taube. Jobber Joe vs Apollo Turner 135lbs Match up Since losing his match-up against his training partner and now champion Diaz, “The Bum” Jobber Joe (3-1) has been hitting the pads relentlessly looking to get back in the W column adding a fourth knockout victory to his resume. His opponent Apollo “Rampage” Turner (1-3) has a knockout win of his own in a fight that lasted all but five seconds, Turner blasted two combos on the respected striker sending him down to the mat. You may be wondering why Turner is getting a match-up with Joe in such wide ranges of records. The reality is, when Turner steps in the cage he absolutely starches folks. When he places his fist on the chin of his opponents they wobble. Oftentimes it takes a smart fighter to realize they have to adapt and overcome if they want to pull off the victory against Turner. The over aggressiveness is certainly a crowd pleaser but it is also quite predictable. Joe is an absolute phenom at this division and working over at Tezs stand and bang has only gotten greater with his striking accuracy as of late. This is my pick for both fight of the night and knockout of the night. The question many fight fans will be having is can Joe take a shot on the chin and stay standing from Turner. The path for victory lies in not being overtly aggressive for Turner while Joe utilizes the clinch game and assuming that Turner is coming in full guns blast. Prediction: Jobber Joe steps in tonight countering and out pointing Turner, eventually stopping him late in the second round. KJ Wassermann vs Mike Lee 155lbs Match up The crowd puller that is KJ Wassermann (3-1) looks to add a fourth knockout victory to his colorful resume as he steps in against an unknown talent in Mike “Lethal” Lee (0-1). Lee who holds a loss on his record hopes that will be the only loss to ever come about in his career. This evening however his match-up against Wassermann looks to be a lot more of a challenge. Wassermann is not the most accurate striker in the world but when he lands a shot it is heard around the world! Wasserman has three incredible knockouts against fighters that had solid chins and average striking abilities. Training out of Big Island Fitness, KJ’s coaches have stated that Wasserman is looking to take the nickname lethal away from Mike Lee when he drops him in the first round. Wasserman is a massive favorite going into this match-up and odds are high we will see a knockout of the night in this match up as well. Path to victory for Mike Lee lies not in playing the stand up game and unless there is a secret to his arsenal that we do not know about he has to pull guard from the clinch position and utilize those brown belt skills. Lee, who is only 18 has a lot of time to grow as a fighter but training at Cozad will not help him much. Prediction: KJ Wasserman takes home the knockout of the night award within two minutes of the first round. Better Dead vs Matt Starr 155lbs Match up In a fight that looks like it can go either way at any point, fight fans get to witness Better “Than” Dead (1-1) battle Matt Starr (2-0) in what appears to be a push for both of these fighters to be recognized by their division. Matt Star, who is currently unbeaten and is wildly accurate in his strikes will be looking to land significant more headshots in this match up with Better Dead. It is imperative to note that Dead has a great level of accuracy as well when he throws strikes and should he choose to not mix the fight so much and focus strictly on the striking game with Starr, fight fans will be in for a real treat! I am unsure if the training at Acme has informed Dead that his priority should be in the stand up game, especially against Starr! He could really be damaging his future attempting these takedowns that really dont do much for him. Starr on the other hand has to recognize what Dead is best at while at the same time being aware of what he usually does. This is really no easy task and will take complete focus throughout the entire fight for Starr. Despite neither fighter really holding knockout power we can expect this fight to go the distance, probably the only fight on the main card to do so, unless it goes to the ground. Should Better Dead take Starr to the ground I fully believe Star will work for and secure a submission instantaneously. Prediction: Matt Star outpoints Better Dead to a decision in a great striking match. Thanks again and good luck to all the fighters on Highland 26 this evening!
  8. The Heavyweight, Light heavyweight, Middleweight, and Welterweight titles are all on the line in what we can all assume to be all out wars! Callum Mcgregor has outdone himself with Highland 25 and I truly believe that this will be the promotion's highest rated fight card for a long time. Multiple fights with two unbeaten fighters, several titles on the line, and the expectation of constant knockouts lingers! My name is Tycoon Hec and I am super honored to be previewing this event for these young up and coming professionals and future stars of MMA Tycoon! Also, after you read the fights you're interested in hearing previewed check out some of the undercard fighters in our spotlight and let me know if you agree with me! Lastly, shoutout to the Merch Partner that is Pho Q. Let's get into the fights! Odd Job vs Maurice Tillet Welterweight Championship The former welterweight champion of Colossus Odd Job (3-0) battles the welterweight champion, Maurice “The Crusher” Tillet (4-0) in what will most likely become a match-up that will not last long on the feet. Odd Job is a martial artist who looks to get the fight to the ground as quickly as possible. Despite his standup game not being considered anywhere near elite, he has managed to handle his own against one of his opponents in the past and one can only wonder that he has steadily improved in that standup department. Odd Job will face perhaps his toughest test to date as he takes on “The Crusher” who has stopped three of his four opponents in the very first round and the fourth opponent in the second. Tillet, trainee at Walter J Abramowitz center for bigness home of a few champions and former Heavyweight Champion Rav Kapur. There is an understanding that once TIllet gets a fighter to the ground he immediately looks to seek and destroy. Whether his opponent is skilled on the ground or not he puts a beating forcing them into unconsciousness! There are interesting takeaways Odd Job will want to note in his matchup with Tillet. The primary is that Tillet will look to gain side control, he employs this tactic and just his massive strength prevents his opponents from gaining any sort of improvement in position. Literally, everytime he gets side control he ends the fight within seconds. The second thing he needs to note is despite him being only a blue belt in BJJ we saw TIllet execute some dangerous defensive grappling with his last opponent in Skinner, his instincts kicked in and he slammed Skinner when he had a Triangle locked in. We believe that Tiillet has been largely focusing on his BJJ game and we can assume he is getting better every day. Something Tillet will want to note is that anytime Odd Job has attempted a submission, he has secured it. Whether Odd Job is on top or on the ground this Jiu Jitsu specialist has an unbelievable submission game! Tillet and Odd Job will both want the takedown and it is imperative that Tillet gets that first as there may not be a path to victory if Odd Job succeeds in taking Tillet down. The position is going to be a matter of great importance. We know Tillet likes side control and we know that Odd Job looks to be in guard, there will be a ton of position improvement and a bunch of strikes and I believe we will eventually see these two warriors fight at the highest level of the game one day in a rematch. Prediction: Tillet will get the takedown front the clinch position and once again move to side control. I believe Tillet will attempt a submission of his own but win the fight with ground and pound by the end of the first round. Needle Dick vs Rav Kapur Heavyweight Championship Lousianas own Needle Dick (4-0) has sent shockwaves to the Island game by his shocking knockout finishes against his opponents largely in the first round. Dick, who prefers to be in the clinchwork of the game, also has no hesitation to stand with his opponents and slug it out. The heavyweight champion of Highland has a reputation for his punching accuracy but has also developed a solid defensive grappling game and he will need it if he is going against Birmingham's own Rav Kapur (3-0)! Kapur, who has faced knockout artists before, does not really fear going into the bout with Needle Dick who has absolutely starched his last four opponents. His team believes that once he gets the fight to the ground it will all be over for Dick. Kapur is a phenom when it comes to his takedowns with virtually unparalleled speed and fight fans are interested to know if the balance skill of Dick will be able to counter that. Despite fight fans not witnessing Kapur engage much at all in the clinch game one thing that has proven certain is that Kapur can take a punch as he has done so against two knockout artists in the past. The question is, can Kapur get Dick to the ground and hold him there long enough to score a submission? Even though Kapur is a purple belt in BJJ his submission attempts and successions are not as high as he would like. We have also witnessed Dick with impressive defensive grappling against BJJ artists in the past stopping multiple submission attempts. So how does this fight actually play out? Dick has a unique advantage on the feet, but I don't believe we will see that occur. We will want to see him press Kapur against the cage holding him in the clinch and looking for that TKO finish. Rav on the other hand has to be aiming for that takedown improving his position and utilizing ground and pound before securing any submission attempts. Not much for ground and pound at all, if all he does is submission attempts I could see the referee standing this one up and Kapur could launch one of those deadly punches we all know so well. It really is a toss up and both managers are eager to get their guy the win on the 18th and a sense of urgency to get it done sooner rather than later in the fight is definitely an unspoken necessity as both these guys are incredibly dangerous in that cage. Prediction: I believe Kapur will be cliched against the cage and prove to the fans his clinch game is not that bad scoring a takedown, advancing position, landing some strikes until finally securing the win with a beautiful submission victory. My guess, late in the first round. Cathair McKay vs Gregorio Serrano Middleweight Championship When Irish and Mexicans fight...They fight. Guarantee you this is already fight of the night. I Guarantee you we will watch these two go at it in a trilogy. And I guarantee you there will be blood. The Middleweight Title is on the line as we see Cathair McKay (4-0) defend it against former Comma champion Gregorio Serrano (3-0) Let me just start off by saying if this fight is not the fight of the night, I will retire as a writer and publicly sharing any type of prediction. Why do I believe that this will be the best fight? Between the two of these iron jaw warriors they have 4 fights with a 100% satisfaction rating...Why? Because these guys swing for grand slams like their name was Babe freaking Ruth! We witnessed Gregorio take three massive head kicks in his last match up and continue to press the action. We have seen McKay walk through haymakers to land his own. The intensity this fight will provide for fight fans is off the charts. Recent training footage have shown Serrano working his clinch game in preparation for the defensive against the ever aggressive McKay in the Clinch, while videos of McKay have proven that he is working diligently on his agility improving his striking defense and accuracy. Regardless of how the fight ends, these two fan favorites will have the place roaring at the end. I think we can safely assume that McKay will look to initiate a clinch and work the body strikes of Serrano sapping his energy and power while Serrano will be more aggressive on the standup and try to keep the distance. Lightweight Champion Kranckx Diesel has spoken of the level of difference McKay has been showing lately in sparring and explained to us that there is literally no rival to Mckay at the middleweight weight class. On the other side Torhte Finlayson who will be fighting on tonight's card, has shared that Serrano literally hits like he is a light heavyweight and once Mckay feels that power he will be fast asleep. While McKay may be looking to utilize the clinch game it is necessary we share that Serrano has broken away from the clinches against opponents who were also highly skilled in the clinch game. I think this should imply we will see a majority of this fight in the standup with exchanges in the center of the cage. Primarily a Muay Thai fighter, McKay has no problem working against talented boxers like Serrano. This will be on my watchlist for sure and I look forward to an interview with the winner of this bout after it all goes down in regards to this fight. Prediction: Despite my love for McKay, I think Serrano is unrivaled on the standup game. His accuracy and chin are too much of a threat for any standup fight. I believe Serrano will win this fight on a split decision victory. Torhte Finlayson vs Murtaz Vatsadze Light Heavyweight Championship In a light heavyweight title match up with fun names fight fans also get to witness two violent knockout artists compete for the Highland title. Out of the six fights these two individuals have competed in, only one fight has gone past the very first round. Torhte “Gingy Bear” Finlayson (3-0) believes his opponent Murtaz Vatsadze (3-0) is the toughest opponent he has faced to date and Murtaz has returned the compliment. Going into this fight many fight fans believe it will be the very first time that we witness “Gingy Bear” receive a punch. We aren't sure yet if he can take one but we are confident that if he is going against the likes of someone like Vatasdze, he will receive one, and with Vatsadze sometimes one is all it takes to put the fight away. Murtaz Vatsadze is a fighter who has a love for the clinch game. Often initiating the clinch and spending the majority of his fights there, he is a brawler through and through. When it comes to the clinch game, Finlayson may not be the one who chooses to initiate it but he has no problem being in there. His 100% striking accuracy inside the clinch holds true to that and when he chooses to break from the clinch he makes it known that a fighter should keep their hands up at all times. Finlayson, who has probably the highest striking defense we will see on this card is going against a fighter who enjoys the brawl, the collision of fists, and desires nothing more than to exchange brutal strikes seeking a knockout. I had a chance to connect with Finlayson gym, which I have to say seems a bit shady and I don't believe anyone has really looked into it or the owners of Island Gym, and he seems relentless in camp working like a bull against a matador. Due to my close connections with some of the fighters over at Walter J Abrams center for bigness, I can safely state that Vatsadze desires nothing more than to be the 5th champion over at Walter J Abrams and to take the belt from a guy like Finlayson would be a feat of itself! Vatsadze, who has a few of his teammates fighting for titles as well on this card, has been on video landing punches that would normally put any man to sleep. His fight camp has definitely been going well according to his sparring partners sharing that his agility and striking defense are at an all time high and that Finlayson will get touched more than once before the end of the night. Finlayson does not seem to be bothered about the support for Vatsadze and considers he will be a champion once again but this time of Highland. Prediction: I believe Vatsadze has a higher caliber of sparring partners readying him up for this match up. I think he has a formula to put Finlayson away. Finlayson is certainly the favorite of many going into this fight but Vatsdze will be the one with his hand raised by the end of the night! Island Guy vs Dalton Dekker Middleweight Match-up The first main card fight of the night sees two power punchers enter the cage with hopes of dismantling the other sending them home via knockout. Island Guy (3-1) is a well respected martial artist on the Island who has one loss from the current champion Cathair McKay and boy was that a great fight. His opponent, the always aggressive Dalton Dekker (2-1) looks to make a statement in the welterweight division by putting down one of the best fighters in the promotion. Dekker is a highly accurate and super confident fighter walking down his opponents pushing the pace and landing absolute bombs on them. His ferociousness in the ring strikes nervousness in his opponents regularly making them hesitate in their striking. Guy, has become known as a warlord in the clinch game dismantling opponents left and right by pure dominance landing almost at will. Now this fight, like many others on the card this evening, looks to bring the fight fans non stop striking action. Both fighters are well aware of the strengths the other brings to the table and are at the same time aware of the weaknesses the other seems to have. Island Guys team believes that to truly win this match against Dekker they have to be just a little more accurate with their strikes and eventually their guy will be the second one to put away Dekker. On the other side of the ring, Dekker will have to utilize his footwork evading the clinch game and landing powerful body shots while being mixed up with punches to the head. This fight will be like a human version of rockem sockem robots and it will probably go the entire distance so smart fighting is a necessity and the want to be overly aggressive should not be selected as an option without careful decision. Talking with Dekkers team, they have shared how his training with such elite sparring partners has mentally and physically prepared him for war against Island Guy. When you consider where Guy does train you have to factor in the reality that he trains at one of the best stand up gyms in the Island and that having a striking matchup with him may not be what many fighters may choose to go for in getting the win. Prediction: Dekker pulls off a stunning victory after landing some damaging body shots forcing Guy to crumble and finishing the match with intense ground and pound until the referee stops it. Undercard Fighter Spotlights! Joshua "The Roach" Spotter --> Joshua "The Roach" Spotter is a new menace when it comes to the Island. Training out of Walter J. Abrams, like most the champions on this card, this 25 year old looks to capitalize in the striking game by providing another knockout against a fighter who is wildly inaccurate in striking but still dangerous when he lands. Expect Joshua to advance in the ladder and provide a second round knockout. Rory "Double R" Roberts --> Rory "Double R" Roberts is supposedly being managed by a new manager in Olivia Wood. Rory, having a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu and having a great ability in takedowns is looking to get his first victory against a white belt on Highland 25s undercard. The need for him to step up his submission skills is vital if he hopes to make a name for himself or his manager in the future. Guy "Tarzan" Neer --> Guy "Tarzan" Neer is managed by new manager Tim Neer. Guy is what many at Cozad the Island are calling a prodigy in the mma world. His friends have been quite honest with him urging him to get to a better training facility as soon as possible or he will not make it far. Guy has everything going for him except the right training partners and coaches and when he secures his victory the world will be waiting for his next move! There you go folks. Do you agree? Do you Disagree? Who takes the gold tonight and who goes home without it? Where does Dekker and Guy end up in the very near future? And what are your thoughts on all of our short fighter spotlights for the night. It is such a pleasure to right for you guys. Also, make sure to tune in for Highland 24 on April 16th when undefeated Kranckx Diesel takes on unbeaten "The Rocket" Johnny Turner for the lightweight title and then on April 19th for Highland 26th when the (3-0) sensation that is Noel Diaz defends his title against fellow submission expert Millard Masters who is also (3-0)! Is there a fighter you want to see interviewed? Let us know! We will get on that for you.
  9. Insane! This looks so good. And you are doing an awesome job running Highland bro.
  10. Not sure if this idea is discussed so please point me in the right direction if so. Usually during the International Fight Week, which may not happen this year, fighters from all over the world gather in Las Vegas to meet and greet with fight fans. A few UFC events are put on and people generally leave feeling quite content with their experience. I was curious if people would be open to the idea of doing a MMATycoon meet up with other Tycoon players during International Fight Week. Not entirely sure what this would look like but definitely share your thoughts if you would be interested. No hard feelings if you would not be either. Thoughts?
  11. Maluga vs Spike A Preview April 10th main card see's five matchups that look to reshape the entire heavyweight division. This event takes place in the historic Tokyo Bowl in Tokyo, Japan where nearly 90,000 people are expected to be in attendance! This event is sponsored by Ma Balls is Hot Clothing! My Balls is Hot, so take it off! That is actually not their catchphrase I just coined that. On Saturday we see Heavyweight Champion of the world Kilo “Bloodbath” Maluga step in for his second title defense against the always dangerous Sunray Spike! In the Co-Main event we will witness McNasty take on The Barbarian, what most likely is a number one contender match up for the Heavyweight strap. This main card promises viewers non stop action from the first match until the very end! My name is Tycoon Hec and I have worked alongside the great Chuck w94 before prior to Synchronicity, I'm grateful to be sharing with you all an event preview as a gift to my long time friend and I wish to say goodluck to all the managers and their fighters! Kilo Maluga vs Sunray Spike Synchronicity Heavyweight Championship In what is being considered by many as a massive heavyweight match up fight fans get to witness their new Heavyweight Champion Kilo "Bloodbath" Maluga (20-6) defend his title for the second time against the number 5 Heavyweight in Sunray Spike (33-13-1). Spike is currently riding a six fight win streak with four of those wins coming by way of knockout! Spike, who is nearing the end of his career started when he was only 17 years old back in June of 2015. The longtime prize fighter has had multiple managers but no manager better at his side than Pablo Spezziale. The HeavyMetal fighter will look to dismantle the current champion in Maluga by any means necessary but it is pretty obvious that a Knockout finish is what he will favor. Kilo, who has just completed a trilogy with Rick Piano looks to move forward with his fight career and establish himself not only as a legend in Synchronicity but as a legend of MMA Tycoon. The Chris Karter fighter who is sponsored by Convicted was seen at his gym, Convicted Fight Club, in Los Angeles putting in more hours than usual. His gym mates have spoken to the vast growth they have seen in his striking defense and punch technique in the recent months. The 28 year old Kilo believes that his age will be a major factor in how he pulls off an incredible win against the 41 year old Spike. Recent social media polls indicate they expect Kilo to edge out on this fight before the third round begins. A majority of fans are hopeful that should Kilo and Barbarian win their matches on April 10th we will see a fifth fight between Kilo and Barbarian which will surely bring the house down! Many fans are expecting that this fight will be a stand and trade experience and expect Kilo will at some point utilize his clinch game to finish the fight from there. Prediction: Kilo Maluga is famous for his walk off knockouts and I consider that he retains the Heavyweight title after another one punch knockout and believe that we will see the fifth match with Barbarian very soon! Mister McNasty vs Conor The Barbarian Co-Main Event and a Heavyweight Match-up The classic English vs Irish battles continue once again as Mister “White Tyson” McNasty (34-14-1) battles against his Irish opponent Conor the Barbarian (24-5). Conor, the former Synchronicity champion, has entered new management under the classic Bwang Jong Sr. With 24 of his 25 wins coming by way of knockout this beast is looking to make a run for the title on the same night his greatest rival, Kilo Maluga fights. Doing it against Bjorn O'Donnell's fighter Mister McNasty will certainly be a feat. McNasty who has won 4 of his last 5 fights by way of knockout certainly knows a thing or two about getting the job done. Having been knocked out only once in his career by the great Rick Piano, McNasty did not hesitate in accepting this opportunity in taking on knockout artist in The Barbarian. The feeling of respect between these two is certainly high but one has to imagine that these two fighters truly believe they will be the one to come out with their hand raised while as fans we can see this going both ways. Despite McNasty only being finished once in his career, if there was a second guy to do it McNasty would probably be it and although Barbarian is ready to launch himself back up in top contention spot, doing so against McNasty would probably not be the person to start that conversation with. That shared, the winner of this fight will be quickly in the pool of names the Heavyweight Champion will be looking at to face after tonight. On paper this fight looks serious so even it is quite difficult to pick a winner. I truly believe this fight is a toss up but my heart tells me that Barbarian wants it more and wants to face Kilo Maluga for a fifth fight. Prediction: Conor the Barbarian knows how dangerous and aggressive his opponent will be come Saturday. I think he plays it smart countering and dropping Mister McNasty for a finish. Rick Piano vs Jorge Cruz Jr. Heavyweight Match-up When former pound for pound fighter world, “The Big, Bad, Booty Daddy” Rick Piano (38-14) steps into the cage Saturday night you can guarantee every eye will be carefully observing his every move especially against his opponent, the giant from Philadelphia, Jorge "The Colossus" Cruz Jr. (25-13). Piano, who is by all accounts one of the best Heavyweights to ever do it, was stopped twice by the current Heavyweight Champion Kilo Maluga. Prior to his loss against Kilo, Piano was on a 12 fight win streak defeating the likes of Heavyweight warriors like that of Wolf, Rain, Spike, Barbarian and even the now Champion Maluga! His morale took a little hit and his fans had hoped he would take a little more time to recoup and gather his confidence back but the Big Bad Booty Daddy could not sit on the couch for long. Jorge, a strong contender in the Heavyweight Division, who stands nearly 7 feet, had seen the morale dip and is curious as all the fight fans if we will see the same dangerous Piano come Saturday night. Jorge aims to hand Rick his third loss in a row by knockout and put himself at the top of the heavyweight division. A finisher by all accounts of the term, Cruz Jr. has knocked out 23 of his 25 opponents and his coaches over at Randalls Top Team anticipate him breaking the will of Piano at Saturday night's performance. Despite my continued focus on the height advantage of Cruz, it does not seem to phase the fearsome Booty Daddy. His coaches have shared that the height difference should really not be much of a factor for Rick as he has fought numerous opponents with a significant height advantage. There is a tendency he holds against these fighters to clinch up with taller fighters and land significant body shots. Cruz has also been susceptible to those fighters who have clinched up and landed body shots. The game plan for Cruz may be more of that of a counter striker and landing kicks from distance and body shots. He hopes that with an impressive and dominant finish over Cruz on Saturday Night we will see him compete once again for Gold. Both of these heavyweight fighters are just so dangerous in the standup that it is almost guaranteed we will see a knockout at any point it is just a matter of who lands first. Prediction: Rick Piano lands a heavy right hook after faking Jorge out sending himself back to top contention spot once again and Jorge out of the top ten. Yardbird Knox vs Pauke Murhapuro Heavyweight Match-up Two top 25 heavyweights are making fight fans' mouths water as they gear up for this Saturday night. The Heavyweight Submission Specialist Pauke Murhapuro (16-10) has a massive 12 wins by submission while his opponent Yardbird Knock (16-5) is a fighters fighter through and through. Despite Pauke coming off a recent loss against Sunray Spike, who is challenging for the title later on the card, Pauke managed to rack up a four fight win streak in the arguably the toughest division in Synchronicity. In his last four fights he managed to submit both Lenny Kowalski, a black belt out of Hardman MMA, and “The Monster of Montmatre” Thierry Paulin. Knox, who has been submitted twice, is quite aware of his opponents love for the Jiu Jitsu and plans to avoid the ground game at all costs where he has been submitted twice. Yardbirds coaches have said they're not even worried about the ground game as the only one who is working on the ground is the doctors when they are recovering Pauke from the first round knockout. This is not too hard to believe as Yardbird is coming off a five fight win streak where the most of his 3 fights were all knockouts. Yardbird, who like many other heavyweights on the card, is hoping that with an impressive knockout performance he can be put in title contention with the best of the heavyweights. This is one of those fights where we can expect a finish. Despite how much defensive grappling or striking defense the other has been training on, the opponent is just far better in his respected realm and should be able to safely secure a win, the question is, who? Prediction: Pauke will seek to destroy as he provides a wild submission victory late in the third round after wearing Yardbird down with ground and pound in the first two rounds. Bismack Kagonbo vs Theirry Paulin Heavyweight Match-up When these two long titans go at it Saturday Night fans will be in a treat of what is being hailed as a legendary match. Bismack “Kongo: Kagonbo (31-22) is aiming to get back in the win column Saturday night by putting on a masterful performance against “The Monster of Montmarte” Theirry Paulin (26-22). These two fighters have been circling each other for years, narrowly avoiding each other by ending up in different organizations and now at the twilight of Paulins careers are finally getting the chance to meet face to face. Paulin who was the former Gamma champ has been on a 5 fight losing streak and fans are starting to question whether he should finally hang it up. Most of those wins came by a knockout but he was submitted early on in one of his matches. Bismack Kagonbo carries 28 knockout victories with him and expects to get a 29th off of Theirry come Saturday Night. Fans are already lining up asking Kagonbo who he fights next and the humble Kagonbo continues to remind them that Paulin is still a dangerous fighter but he may make a call out after his post fight victory. Theirry Paulin the French Monster is only 33 but something has to change if he wants to continue to compete at such a high level. His coaches at House of Corpses have shared with me that what he was going through is no longer affecting him and this guy will become champion before all is said and done and that road begins with Kongo. Whether that is wishful thinking or that is something as fight fans we should take seriously we know that both of these guys need a victory and how that happens in this weight class is anyone's guess. Prediction: Paulin will be patient until Bismack comes in too confident and then Paulin will pull off a shocking head kick victory. Hopefully you have enjoyed these event previews and look forward to watching the fights Saturday night alongside you and all the Synchronicity fans. These fights all really can go either way as so many of them are evenly matched. Wishing you all the very best and good luck to the fighters once again!
  12. Ladies and Gentleman, ahead of one of the most anticipated events in Synchronicity history we get to witness two of the worlds greatest Middleweight prize fighters go at it to prove who is the best P4P Middleweight in the world. Our guest this evening is the champion of Synchronicity and absolute wrecking machine, Pekka “Punchmaster General” Toivonen (32-10). Pekka currently holds the #1 spot for Middleweight fighters across the globe and on April 25th he will be taking on undefeated champion of Stoners Fight League, Edison “Zico” Atunes (23-0)! Pekka, who is sponsored by Convicted and Pwnage clothing, is recognized by multiple organizations as one of the greatest and is even in the Hall of Fame for Synchronicity. His highest ranking of all time was the 2nd P4P fighter and his fans believe that with a win over Zico, he will be regarded as the pound for pound fighter in all of MMA Tycoon. Q: Regarded as the best Middleweight in the game and the number 4 pound for pound fighter in the world, riding a four fight win streak and holder of the Synchronicity Middleweight Title, Ladies and Gentleman we have the machine, Pekka "Punchmaster General" Toivonen! A: Thank you for catching me on work break. I'd give a shoutout to Finnish labor union, but Tosen threw the union leader from the top of the Convicted skyscraper in Helsinki. Q. Wow Tosen seems like a mad man. Good thing he takes out all his aggression with you guys at the gym. Anyways, it is great to be with you, no doubt a legend in your own right. Before we get into this upcoming match up with Edison Atunes, I just want to ask you how training has been going for you over at Tosens Home for Lost Boys? A: Training has had to take a back seat because the gym has had major issues with plumbing. Shitty Brazilian pipes decided to shit the bed last month, a literal showering Demon Monkey had rancid diarrhea in the gym communal shower. I have been working on fixing after garbage Brazilian workers, no doubt labor organized. I expect mister Tosen to toss someone from a skyscraper as sanction for poop-based atrocity. Q. Ahh yes, showering Demon monkeys. The worst. Especially when they have rancid diarrhea. So, imagining that your preparation is going well with just over a couple weeks left till the fight, what improvements have you noticed in your overall game? A: As for improvement, I bought a fancy new wrench with my cut of winnings from last fight. In fighting terms, I am an old man and only in it for carnage and easy paycheck. I am definitely a worse fighter than in the last fight. Q: Nice, I have my eyes on a Craftsman 9 piece wrench set actually. Just waiting for it to go on sale. Getting off track again, Edison is no doubt one of the best middleweights in the MMA world, second to you according to the rankings, does this create a different level of angst for you or are you someone who goes in without care to your opponent? A: Zico is the next generation of Convicted, a top fighter. I am very honored to be the first person to bomb him back to stone age. Q. Upon closer inspection of this fight it does not look to me that this fight will go to the mat at all unless someone gets knocked down, both you and Atunes seem to be fighters with a preference in standing and trading with their opponents, do you see the fight playing out this way? A: If I wanted to play grab-ass I would be back in a disco sauna in Turku, not roll around with another muscly man in a steel cage. Q: I definitely want to hear more of this Turku disco sauna. Listen, critics of Atunes have shared that he has not fought competition to your level of caliber or experience. Would you agree with this and if so what really separates you from any of his past opponents? A: Zico is a very tough fighter. Critics are, how you say, fucking morons. Q. Right, morons those guys, like gah. Anyways, of course there are critics, or morons, of yours as well who have claimed you are entering the twilight of your career and on your way out. How do you respond to those voices? A: I fail to see how stating facts is criticism. I am old and decrepit. Q: Looking back on your career, were you ever surprised you made it this far or do you feel as though you still have yet to make it? A: What kind of bullshit question is that. I punch people ever since pee wee hockey, they fall down. Then I punch people in world title fights, they fall down too. After I punched Edison Atunes, he will also fall. Q: You may be surprised to know, I did not know you played pee wee hockey, what a fascinating fact for me to know. You werent always a pee wee you grew up and were once a light heavyweight and a heavyweight prize fighter. In the foreseeable future could you see yourself moving up in weight to take the title? A: I like punching fat boys. The way they jiggle hahahaahah Q: That totally reminds me, let me show you this youtube video after this interview. Speaking of the light heavyweights, who do you think takes it: Whymer or Gaurda? A: Pekka. Q: Well, by the sounds of that it sounds like you are definitely interested in moving up in weight. Share with us a little about your experience of Synchronicity and the promotions owner Chuck, you have been here a long time. What separates this promotion from others for you? A: Murdering other old men in Syn does not get in the way of my blossoming HVAC business. Q: I imagine with that new wrench you have business is a booming! Well champ it's time we let you go! Any final words for your fans? A: I fix air conditioning too. Cheaper and better than Brazilian union workers. Also put life savings on brutal knockout. Friends thank you so much for joining us for this awesome Interview. We want to wish the very best of luck to the monster Pekka and his opponent Edison when they do battle on Sunday, April 25th. A very special thank you to Chuck who runs one phenomenal org and to Pekka and his manager Freako Wimp for doing this interview with me. If you as a Manager or Fighter wish to schedule out some time for a quick interview and grow your personal brand send us a line and we can get started! Thank you to Chuck who puts on this fantastic fights and all the Managers at Synchronicity!
  13. Stoked for you guys. Good luck to you and your fighters!
  14. Interview with 155lbs Champion Kranckx Diesel Ladies and Gentleman thankyou for joining us for our second of many upcoming interviews for Highland Fighters. In this installment we connect with the lightweight champion and absolute beast Kranckx Diesel managed by a strategy master in Chor Thanasukarn as you read through this interview, you will notice certain things are underlined. To help you gain a quick reference on what we are talking about click on the underline link which will take you to the Tycoon page of that being referenced. Since the timing of this interview Rav Kaupur no longer holds a title with the Colossus MMA going under. He still trains at Walter J Abramowitz gym. Additionally, Diesel has a fight booked on April 16th against Johnny Tanner! We hope you enjoy this interview and look forward to providing many more! Fighter Background: Kranckx Diesel is a 25 year old knockout artist who hails from Bitter Pits. A lovely place I am sure. Diesel currently trains out of the Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness which currently houses 77 fighters and 4 champions total. He is sponsored by Church of Zoidberg Warehouse. He is currently ranked number 11 on the Islands P4P list and 2nd for the Islands lightweight Division. Q: Diesel, you are sitting at the top of the lightweight division with three wins all by technical knockout and with the lightweight belt wrapped around your waist! How are you feeling? A: I don't feel anything. My mom actually thinks I'm a sociopath. Q: That is exactly what my wife told me last week. Kindred spirits we must be. Now you actually train at Walter J Abramowitz, alongside multiple champions including the former Heavyweight Champion Rav Kapur, how has that experience shaped you for your fights at Highland? A: Rav is one of those boys that is into rolling around on the floor with other dudes. Grappling and stuff, it's just not my thing. Q: I do not blame you, those smells can be something else. One of your more recent opponents loved to grapple, Lets just do a quick backtrack on one of the fight with Cervantes, he pulled off several tight submission attempts on you. I think leading up to the fight, many would have thought a purple belt would have had no trouble dismantling a White Belt. Just how good is your ground game? A: My ground game is great. I punch my opponents in the face and they fall to the ground. But don't be fooled by the white belt folks. If it ever happens, the first one to get me to the ground will find out the hard way. Q: I really cant wait to see how that will unfold. So eventually you caught Cervantes with a beautiful hook putting him out before the referee stepped in. Did you see that hook earlier or was it your coaches who informed you that he had a tendency to drop his hands? A: Cervantes had the balls to step into the octagon with me. I respect that. He knew he'd be lucky to survive. I'm basically a machine. I don't plan much. There's no strategy behind the destruction of my opponents. My coaches stopped coaching me because there's no need, and I wouldn't listen anyway. Q: Well, many people do believe MMA is an individual sport. Anyway, It has a few days since your last fight. It appears to the fans you like to fight every two weeks or would you like to wait a little longer until an opponent presents themselves? A: Some of my great Muay Thai predecessors, Ramon Dekkers and Rob Kamman, sometimes fought as much as twice in a single week against opponents that were as tough as nails. I told McGregor I'll fight anybody that has the balls, and at any time Highland wants me to. Q: Looking at top contenders for your title who would you consider the most deserving and why? A:I think Tanner or Green, just looking at their record. Tanner is an 18 year old kicking the shit out of 25 year olds. But again, anyone Callum sends me is fine with me. Q: I am getting word that Tanner may be the one who accepts the fight with you for the 16th of April. Being that you are a larger lightweight, could you see yourself eventually jumping up to the Welterweight division and taking on the one day champion there? A: You're not fat shaming me, are you now? .... But to answer your question, yes. If they allow me I could hold both belts simultaneously. Q: I definitely did not mean to fat shame... Or you're joking. Ha! Okay so you seem to be enjoying Highland go ahead and share with us a little about your experience at Highland. A: Highland has been great to me. First thing that happened was that McGreror was not pleased with the fighters performance in general and he immediately cut the salaries of all fighters. My manager Dieselnoi had to sort that shit out, which rumour has it, involved some knee techniques. We always get paid. Other than that Highland has been a lot of fun. Callum has great plans for this org so I'd advise anybody that gets an offer to just sign on the dotted line. Q: Well I really hope to see you at the top for a long time. We have to let you go but knowing that you are a fighters fighter at Highland and we know that you are a lover of your fans. Lets go ahead and end on a high note. What message do you have for your fans! A: Thanks for your support mom and dad! See you back soon at the trailer park. If you would like to see your fighter interviewed in the near future please do not hesitate to reach out to Tycoon Hec. As always, thank you so much to Callum Mcgregor and thanks to Chor for helping me get this interview out to the fans. Expect another interview by another champion very soon!
  15. Interview with 185lbs Champion "Irish" Cathair McKay Ladies and Gentleman thankyou for joining us for one of our many upcoming interviews for Highland Fighters. In this installment we take a look at one of my personal favorite fighters "Irish" Cathair McKay managed by the talented Optimal MMA Picks. As you read through this interview, you will notice certain things are underlined. To help you gain a quick reference on what we are talking about click on the underline link which will take you to the Tycoon page of that being referenced. We hope you enjoy this interview and look forward to providing many more! Fighter Background: Irish McKay is predominately a striker knocking out three of his four opponents. The 25 year old McKay now trains out of the Walter J Abramowitz Center for Bigness which currently houses 78 fighters and 5 champions total. McKay is sponsored by Beachside Supplements and Church of Zoidberg Warehouse. He is currently ranked number 7 on the Islands P4P list and 3rd for the Islands Middleweight Division. Q: McKay, talk with us. What is it like just being crowned the first Middleweight champion of Highland? A: It's Mmkay. This is the start of a long season. We are just getting started and I plan on retaining the belt for the duration, so line'em up baby. Q: Definitely look forward to you getting back in the Cage after your last fight for the belt. The fight for the title you moved in against the Pirate Markelic. That fight was pretty aggressive earning both of you cuts in the first round. Besides the title, was there anything else you took away from the fight? A: I took away the fact that Markelic is the nicest MFer in the game from his post fight comments, he is Highland's very own version of Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson. I almost feel bad for whooping his ass but let's run that back at some point this season as he's a worthy contender. Q: Markelic was certainly the favorite going into that fight riding a three fight win streak with all three wins coming by first round finishes. Were you nervous about this or was it just another fight for you? A: He was the favorite? Really bruh? I need to start getting some money down on my own fights. But yeah I was crapping my jocks backstage before the fight, I damn near followed through once I saw him drop unconscious on the canvas Q: I think a lot of people were curious about you moving up in weight and taking on a warrior like Markelic away, but you definitely put those questions to rest. You started your career at 170 and found yourself moving up to 185. What was the reason for that change? A: These weight cuts are brutal. I couldn't even have any of my granny's Irish stew in the leadup to the fights so I had to move up to 185. Potatooo!!! Q: I would love to try some of that stew. I know you just said the weight cuts are brutal but could you see yourself ever going back to the Welterweight division, attempting to capture the gold there? A: If the right opponents were presented I'd go back down to clear out that division later in the season. Highland's two weight world champion, let's make that happen. Q: That would be amazing! Before we get that far we should say you have a long road ahead in the middleweight world. The 185 fighters are all fighting for recognition right now. There are two fighters in particular who your fans have been dying to see you compete against: the submission expert Lucas Barbosa and teammate of yours in Lucas Kuas. Who do you feel you match up well against and who would you prefer to fight? A: I'd go through them both on the same night, wearing a 50lb weighted vest with me feet tied together. Are there any worthy contenders around? In fact, if any of them two fighters managed to take the belt off of me I'll send you $1m tycoon dollars, and you can quote me on that! Q: I would hate to take any money if you lost so no deal for me. I would feel to bad. Regardless of who your next opponent is, what can fight fans expect from you when you return? A: They can expect to see my opponent evacuated off the island via emergency helicopter, and to see me big Irish balls pop out during a wrestling scramble Q: I am sure there are numerous women who are probably blushing at your last line there. We have to let you go now and get back to training but before we do, it is clear that you are a massive fan favorite and we know you love the fans. 16. HIGHLAND 17 A Review by Tycoon Hec Highland 17 was such a massive success for fight fans who tuned in to watch! With several fights not going the distance, five of which were first round knockouts and two submission victories that definitely had the crowd roaring. Over nine hundred and fifty people attended Highland 17 and the event was nearly rated at 80. The fighters came to perform and perform they did. Noel Diaz took home both the Fight of the Night and Submission of the Night awards while a debut from the light heavyweight phenom, Franko Getaldic took the knockout of the night award with a stunning first round knockout. Any other light heavyweights out there, this guy is a problem. I do not normally provide reviews for promotions but this card was just so amazing. So, If you're interested in getting a quick summary of the fights that took place this Easter evening, take a look below! Jobber Joe vs Noel Diaz For the Bantamweight Championship These two undefeated warriors went at it for the Bantamweight Championship. This fight took home the Fight of the Night award and Diaz took home the submission of the night award. Well deserved for sure. Diaz attempted over seventeen clinches really trying to get the fight to the ground as Jobber Joe desperately worked to keep the fight standing. Jobber Joe threw over what seemed to be countless punches yet only seeming to land around 30 of them. One thing we can say about the striking defense of Diaz is that this guy can take a punch. Joe who put away his last three opponents via knockout but just could not pull off the knockout finish tonight against Diaz. The entire game plan for Diaz revolved around getting Jobber to the ground and he did that at the very late stage of the first round. We did not get to see any real work on the ground at that point. The second round began, Diaz clinched up and pulled guard masterfully. Once he pulled Joe in he cinched up his neck and provided the fans with a beautifully demonstrated guillotine. Joe had no choice but to tap to such a ruthless guillotine. Diaz was crowned Highlands first ever Bantamweight Champion and bragged himself up a bit. Highland 17 Takeaways: Jobber Joe can not get too hard on himself. There are a few key areas he needs to focus on, His striking accuracy. his submission defense, and his takedown defense. I imagine within two fights we will see Joe back in the cage challenging Diaz for the title. Another Major takeaway is Diaz is an absolute menace on the ground. Do not, I repeat, do not allow your fighter on the floor with that guy. Diaz is not left without his own imperfections, his lack of striking defense could eventually see him going to the ground alone. Diaz had publicly called out Harry Henderson prior to him winning the title. Henderson, who recently won his fight at Highland 12 was submitted by Millard Masters who did win his fight this evening. Island Guy vs Kristoffer Wexell There really is not a ton to say about this fight except that this was the only fight I wrongly predicted. Kristoffer Wexell went in with a game plan that looked to bring his opponent to the mat. Shortly after one takedown attempt, Island Guy split open Wexells eye with a clean jab. The takedown was Wexells only offensive move in the fight but it wasn't even a real attempt as much as he was trying to get Guy to drop his guard, and eventually knocked out but the Islands very own, Island Guy. The North Koreans last outing was against the now Middleweight champion Mckay and is looking to get back to business after getting in the W column. Highland 17 Takeaways: Wexell needs to work his striking defense, period. He needs to take a little time away from the sport and work that defense. This is his second knockout loss in a row and unless he changes something soon, we can see this guy enter retirement before he hits 26. Island Guy who had no words for the fans after the knockout went straight back to the locker room. We are expecting Island Guy will want to match up soon as he wasn't even touched in this fight. We are told a fight is already under offer and can assume it is with Dalton Dekker, a fearsome knockout artist in his own right. Only time will tell and this middleweight division is heating up! Ron Johnson vs Sahara Sam With a 72% fight rating Sahara Sam and Ron Johnson took to finishing the other with aggression. Sam mainly focused on throwing punches in bunches which were largely telegraphed by Johnson. Johnsons elusiveness saw him avoid a majority of Sams striking while landing a majority of his own, especially in the clinch. Johnson, who had no real reason to fear the striking power of Sam, chose to engage in the clinch game landing a 100 strikes. These clinch strikes consisted of punches and elbows. When the fight was not in the clinch, Johnson landed roughly half of his strikes proving that he was a very good striker. Ron Johnson ran away with this fight leaving Sahara Sam struggling way more than expected. Highland 17 Takeaways: Sahara Sam needs to make a clear focus on his striking defense and choosing to be less intent on counter strikes. His agility training will certainly go along way in that and if he continues to train at Cozad we can see he will not gain a ton of new skills and traits for his arsenal. Ron Johnson should feel as though he is on top of the world right now giving his fans a wonderful dominant performance. Ron too has a fight under offer and he can be sure that his opponent will have seen how good his Clinchwork game is but noticed how he did not exactly land all of his strikes from distance. The more Johnson develops his striking game the more we can expect this young star to rise to the top. Millard Masters vs Apollo Turner The pure grappler Millard Masters secured his third victory in a row when he submitted Apollo Tuner in the first round via kimura. Thankfully he did not actually break the arm but it certainly looked like it was going that way. Once the Kimura was locked in we could hear Tuners corner screaming from the distance to tap. Apollo who was coming off a wonderful knockout victory thought he would be able to finish his opponent in Masters who is really not that known for his striking but definitely looks awkward when he throws any sort of strike. Masters who received a few punches from Turner did not seem to phased by them but obviously did not want to continue receiving them. Masters pulled that kimura out on his third attempt and is already being offered a new fight. Hopefully it is with the newly crowned Noel Diaz. Highland 17 Takeaways: Masters has an incredible ground game, one that will surely freak any fighter out. His ability to get the fight to the ground is next to none. The biggest thing Masters will worry about is facing one of those guys who can sprawl and brawl. Hopefully he is dedicating serious time on working his striking defense for the future, I do have my doubts as he is still training at Cozad. Apollo has not really had the greatest of luck in his last few fights. The young gun is talented and there is no denying it. Rampage looks to try to be good in so many areas that he fails to be excellent in one area. Especially early on in the fighting career fighters should focus on their strengths not their averages. I would love to see Apollo tune up his weakness in the gym but really hammer in on those strengths he knows he has when fight time comes. Jorge Assvidal vs Bryan de Paula One of the most exciting finishes of the night came when Jorge Assvidal landed some of the most hellacious shots on his opponent Bryan de Paula. Bryan who was hoping to gain a submission victory over his opponent failed pretty quickly when Jorge pummeled him with strikes. Here is a crazy stat for everyone, Assvidal landed every single strike he threw against Bryan de Paula...Every. Single. Strike. If you do not know who Jorge is yet you will eventually. Ibrahim Camara, arguably the best manager in the game was seen completely unsurprised after Assvidal pulled off the deadly victory. Bryan De Paulas manager and him parted ways shortly after the fight. Highland 17 Takeaways: Jorge is a threat. A dominant fearsome monster that should not be taken lightly. No fight is currently being offered to the lightweight contender but my guess is this guy will be training tomorrow morning with his gym mates at Smash. Whatever this guy is doing is working and honestly I really can not wait to see this guy in the cage again! FIGHT SPOTLIGHT: Franko Getaldic (1-0) Franko stunned the audience with his knockout victory over his opponent Buddy Barnett. The twenty five year old light heavyweight fighter from Croatia who trains out of The Island Gym fought his teammate who is also a fearsome striker in his own right but put him to sleep quickly. Potential match-ups look a bit bleak for Franko right now so I imagine this guy is going to get back to the gym and continue to focus on whatever he has been doing there. Definitely looking forward to seeing this guy in action again! FIGHT SPOTLIGHT: Dalton Dekker (2-1) Dalton Dekker returned to the win column after a dominant victory tonight. He returned to top form stopping his opponent in the very first round. Dalton is climbing the ladder again and looking to get back in the limelight. With his ferocious power this guy could be a problem for anyone who wants to step in the cage with this dangerous middleweight. FIGHT SPOTLIGHT: Maro Pjetlic (1-0) Tonight Highland fans witnessed the debut of a heavyweight destroyer in Maro Pjetlic. The six foot four wrecking ball utilized the clinch game to his benefit landing all fifty strikes he threw against his opponent and eventually knocking him out. Rumors are that Rashid Elkhan has been offered to be Maros next opponent and that would be an absolute thriller of a match up as both guys are great strikers. Thank you Highland 17 Fighters and Managers for some serious entertainment on this beautiful Easter Sunday. Thankyou Callum Mcgregor for putting on such a good show. Hope to see you guys at the next one!

Starting in Descending Order is the Main event, followed by the Co-main all the way to the first fight on the main card. If you enjoy this preview please reach out to Callum Mcgregor. Good luck to all the fighters on this excellent fight card! Now let's get into the fight card Highland 17. Jobber Joe vs Noel Diaz For the Bantamweight Championship The Bantamweight Title is on the Line between two training partners as Jobber Joe takes on Noel Diaz! These two undefeated fighters have a combined win streak of 5 wins and neither fighter knows what it is like to ask the judges for a decision. Needless to say, this fight is going to bring the fans the aggressive pace mma is widely celebrated for. Jobber Joe (3-0), a remarkable boxer and talented wrestler training out of Tez’s Stand and Bang has finished all three of his opponents by knockout. Whether it is by a single overhand or uppercut or it is by a thunderous combination, Jobber is known for inflicting pain upon his opponents with his fists. Jobbers last opponent was seemingly doing well until the third round when Joe landed some hellacious strikes forcing the referee to stop the fight. The French boxer has had an extensive boxing record so the standup exchanges are usually what he will prefer in a fight. His opponent and gym partner, Noel Diaz is not particularly known for his striking, in fact, he has only thrown one punch his entire mma career and it missed by a wide margin. What Diaz does bring to the table is a web of submissions and transitions that create anxiety in any fighter and a good amount of trash talk. Recently Diaz had went in Highlands smack talk thread on March 25th to say, “Jobber Joe is a pussy. Harry Henderson you are a f*****g pussy too! I'll slap both of you in the face when I see you.” Diaz (2-0), easily submitted both of his opponents proving to be a force to be reckoned with should the fight go to the ground. Critics of Noel Diaz have stated that he has not earned this title shot and has not proven himself at Highland. Diaz supporters scoff at this remark pointing to the supreme difference in their BJJ caliber insinuating that Jobber Joe will eventually tap. We had a chance to catch up with Jobber Joe and asked him a few questions: Is there any animosity going against your gym mate at Tezs Stand and Bang, Noel Diaz for the title? I generally keep to myself at the gym, but no there is no animosity. It's just another fight for me. Although I definitely want that title belt for sure! His submissions are absolutely ferocious, how do you plan to keep this fight on the ground? Diaz is dangerous. I'm comfortable going to the ground. If it goes there, I will defend and get back up to bang it out. What should we expect of this fight come Easter Sunday? Expect two of Fight Island's top bantamweights to deliver an exciting fight! Watch out for his slick submissions and my crafty boxing! Reality is, this fight only goes one of two ways a knockout or a tapout. We know once Joe connects, it basically becomes lights out for anyone but we have never seen Diaz take a punch. We also know that when Diaz gets someone to the ground they are not escaping unless the bell saves them. With Jobbers proficient wrestling it is difficult for me to see how Diaz gets the fight to the ground, that shared Diaz is also known for having equal if not better wrestling. Prediction: The Bantamweight Champion will be Noel Diaz via 2nd Round Submission. Island Guy v Kristoffer Wexell Middleweight Match The Co-Main event offers Highland a fight that truly will begin to launch one of these fighters careers in the right direction. Island Guy who holds some wonderful Muay Thai pedigree hopes to provide a third knockout finish in his career against the wrestling phenom in Kristoffer Wexell. Wexell, who last fought two weeks ago, finished in the second round against Montoya. Island Guy lost a tough decision to the now Middleweight Champion in McKay. Island Guy is exceptionally dangerous on the feet and his striking proves to be no joke for anyone he matches up against. His striking tends to put his opponents to sleep and knowing Kristoffer has already experienced that he will probably be banking on just that. I think it is fair to assume Island Guy is going to be a little more aggressive against Wexell in this matchup in hopes to put him away early and put his name in contention for the title shot. Reports from Wexell’s gym mates have shared that his Morale is high despite being Tko’d in his last mma outing. His teammates regularly spar with him on Monday evenings have claimed he is a different fighter and if Island Guy slips up, it will be Wexell with his hand raised. Prediction: Wexell will stun the audience with a surprise knockout in the first round. Ron Johnson vs Sahara Sam Featherweight Match In a featherweight matchup of striking excellence we see two 25 year old's from opposite ends of the planet go at it. The 25 year old Canadian, Ron Johnson is making his return to the Highland cage after a two week break period taking on the Egyptian warrior, Sahara Sam 1-1, an aggressive kickboxer who strikes with quickness. Sahara is known for entertaining the fans with his wild hooks and lightning fast head kick attempts. Johnson, who is also known for his kickboxing, has a unique ability to regularly land thunderous leg kicks into his opponent. On visiting Ron Johnson at his gym, we quickly realized he actively trains with the Lightweight and Middleweight Champions of Highland. McKay vocalized how even though Ron is just starting out in MMA the sky's the limit for this guy. Coaches for Ron have shared they hope Sahara Sam engages in a standup fight with Ron as they know their featherweight fighter will run circles around him. Regardless of who wins you can expect a ton of exchanges on the standup. I would be surprised if we see one takedown attempt from either of these martial artists. Prediction: Ron Johnson walks away with the split decision victory. Millard Masters vs Apollo Turner Bantamweight Match When the Monken takes on the Rampage fight fans should expect nothing but non-stop action. The second fight on the main card proves to be one that will have you on the edge of your seat. Apollo Rampage Turner is looking to even out his record with another first round knockout against his opponent. To do that, he may be hoping to keep the same game plan and be a bit aggressive on the stand-up. His opponent is also known for being aggressive just with a different style. Millard Masters has taken down both of his opponents and relentlessly looked for the submission to put them away. In Masters last outing, he told his opponent he was going to break his leg just before the tap. Masters, a crowd pleaser in his last fight, is anticipating not only coming away with the win but the submission of the night as well and if he performs that what a fight it will be to see him as the next potential challenger for the bantamweight title. Prediction: Millard Masters submits Apollo Turner in the first round. Jorge Assvidal vs Bryan De Paula Lightweight Match Despite only being 18 against his 25 year old opponent, Bryan De Paula has a bit more experience in the world of Mixed Martial Arts than that of Jorge Assvidal. What a beautiful name. The two training partners at SMASH training have vocalized a supreme respect for one another in and out of the gym. Jorge is quite aware that the ground game is not where he wants to end up against Bryan but Bryan is understanding that Jorge will most likely get the finish if the fight stays on the feet. After his first mma fight, Bryan De Paulas coaches informed him that he had to be more aggressive in finding the submissions otherwise he would continue to get knocked out. During his second pro mma fight Bryan went for four submission attempts before finally securing one against a dangerous grappler. Assvidal, who has been working his takedown defense in training has been seen working longer hours as he knows this will be the toughest match-up he may face for a while and may set a precedent going forward. The coaches of the two men have informed me that it really is a toss up on this one and they could see it going either way. This will be the perfect fight to being the Main Card for Highland 17 as it surely will not go the distance. Prediction: Assvidal counters the takedown and knocks out Bryan in the first round.
  18. UFC has held an event in Beijing. UFC has also held events in Mexico City. UFC has not held any events in Lagos or Bangkok, but if we are using that same logic, why is Amsterdam and Hilo in the game. I do not consider using only what has already been done as what is acceptable to be used and obviously the Tycoon Owners do not either that is why we have a couple of cities the UFC have not been to. Two questions that I have recently thought of Does the game have a need for another city? If shuffling the cities around is that only for ascetics or does it serve any actual purpose in game?
  19. I do not particularly support the idea of replacing cities. I think adding cities will do good in people who wish to start up their very own promotions and try to become a top ten eventually. I think Miami is a great idea but there are already so many U.S. cities in the current Tycoon game. I think there are a few hotspots that could be placed in the game. Lagos Nigeria (14 million People with 2 UFC Champions) Mexico City, Mexico (8.5 Million People with 0 Champions) Bangkok, Thailand (8.5 Million People with Multiple OneFC Champions) Beijing, China (21 Million People with 1 UFC Champion & 1 ONEFC Champion)
