  1. Yeah i was taking a look around though... no gyms seem to be like mine was. I think I had 320 at my high point. And I was making deals with organizations and clothing company's that simply weren;t happneing at that time. I'm sure there are successful gyms now. But at the time I was hoping to have THE BEST business in the game, and was planning on doing so much more. But when the rule came down, i felt liek it would be pointless because any time I would do something that was TOO successfull, it would be put under a microscope and squashed by rules to keep it down. So I felt like whats the point... I had agreements with other players too so that fight orgs and clothing companies were promoting and working with me. How cool would it have been if I had a chain of gyms in every city with the same name buy under different managers that I worked with... but then I figure some rule about duplicate franchise names would be put in place or something... It just didn't make sense to pour time into something that when you are being successful at it, it is shut down simply because you are being successful at it... I was offering the best training at the lowest price, so I deserved to get the bussiness. I also poured the time into the game to get it. I messeaged every new member inviteing them to my gym and promoted it to memembers of other gyms to highlight why they should train at mine. But then when i started doing better than the others I basically had extra rules applied to me. (they applied to everyone technically... but I was the only gym that was big enough to actually be effected). Anyway, I do still wish I had been able to take it where I had wanted and see what i could have done with it. I may give the game a try again but I dont have the time I used to in order to be really good at it.
  2. Also at the time my prices were very very low, so I wasnt turning as much of a profit as I planned to. The plan was to grow into a very large gym, and then slowely increase prices once I had a base of fighters and elitle coaches that proved worth it. But again, because the size of the gym was now limited, I knew there would be many many gyms opening as the game got more popular. This was all in the beta stage of the game. Looking at the game now, there are more options and companies.
  3. Well at the time the game was much smaller, and less things to do other than try and run your bussiness... so once I had reached the peak of what I was going to be able to do with it, what else was there to do? I also had university exams coming up at the time, and got engaged... so life happened too and I stopped. But the rule was the catalyst.
  4. Im trying to find an old thread that was related to this. It was a thread made by the owner and he cited "The Gladiator Rule" where he had limited the number of coached because I was growing too big too quick. I also offered at a lower price then all other gyms so i pretty much get all new members. I really wanted to have a super large gym and then leverage that to start a promotion. But when the 10 coaches rule came into place, I knew I would never be able to stick with the game because eventually ever gym would get to be the same as mine and I would have no competitive advantage over them because the rules wouldn't allow it. So it didnt make sense to play anymore. But I was thinking about this game and had wondered if it took off. Nice to see its still around. Still disappointed I wasnt able to continue to run my tycoon though. I wasted a lot of good hours playing this. I remember messaging EVERY new member with a advertisement to my gym inviting them to train there... and they would it was awesome at the time. Funny though, I just read a more recent thread with people complaining and wondering how to make gyms profitable. Which is something I had very little problem with. I'm not sure if that was the case after the gladiator rule was implemented.
  5. Oh man... I was thinking about this the other day and how pissed I was when the new rule came into place to stunt the growth of my successful business. Thought I would come back and see how things changed... Was interested to see people discuss me and my gym even after I was gone.
  6. Well I purposly started the gym because I knew I had got into the game early and would be in a good spot once the game went live. I was banking on it actually. Also i think everyone needs to remember that it isn't just just fighter/trainer ratio. It's more complicated than that. I think it is more the fighter to training slot ratio that is more important. Take a gym that has less fighter for example but less trainers as well. But they only offer some skills once or twice a week. Likestriking defence or ground and pound. Yeah they have less overall fighters... but almost every fighter is going to train on those days. I over things like takedowns, takedown defence, punching technique, striking defence, and some other things.. ALL SEPERATLY 12 TIMES A WEEK. You there is less chance that people are going to train on the same day as you... I have done this on purpose.. continuously hiring more trainers to do this so that I can offer thing a lot even though my gym is getting large. I haven't heard many complaints from managers regarding the results they are getting. Everyone is quick to say "Oh but too many fighters are bad".. let the pops do the talking. Yeah my gym is getting big... but I was always aing sure that I expanded to offer quality elite training. I lie how I'm being painted as a bad guy for trying to suck in new managers... NO. I have every one of my fighters training at my gym... because i want to offer them the best training there is. I promise that at my gym.. even with 300+ fighters you get better training than ost other gyms in vegas (probably all). I have set my price point low (which will proably have to start going up now that i will have to cap fighters and stop hiring trainers) so that you can buy supplements to maximise your training, an buy clothing to keep your morale up... Keep the mmatycoon economy in vegas rolling... I think it should be my bussiness the way I run my gym... and if you don't like it don't train there. But a lot of people are.. and a lot of people are getting really good results. If I had known that was going to happen I probably wouldn't have started the gym at all because I can't accomplish what I set out to do. What happens next... a rule that limits how many fighters can pop in one week??? Sound crazy... well so does a rule limiting how many employees a success business can hire.
  7. Can i suggest modifying the rule or something... like a tax on having more than 10 trainers or something... i dunno... just something not as lame and totally targeted at me. Are they going to be rules that stunt the growth of fight orgs/nutrition companies/clothing companies??? I would also be interested in know who the "Someone" who "rightly pointed out" is. Possibly a competitor in Vegas who is pissed my gym is doing well because i am able to offer better trainers at a lower price??? That's business... shouldn't be penalized for running it well.
  8. I gotta say man I hate this rule. I thought the whole point f a tycoon style game is to build up as big as you can and take over as much as possible. I wanted to be able to build a very very large training facility that is world renown like Xtreme Couture or BTT. With the rule I am not going to turn any profit. Well its going to be a hell of a lot harder that is for sure. I always have competition biting at my heals, and my only way to maintain my spot as the best is my ability to upgrade trainers. I wanted to have a trainer for every trainable skill... So that each trainer focuses on only one discipline (kicks, knees, sub offence ect.) I have seriously been working on this goal for over a month now. Anyway, I think creating a rule out of thin air to hold one guy down is pretty crummy. Whats next, once a manager gets 10 fighter with undefeated record and he is about achieve his goal we make a rule to stop him/her. I think its pretty unfair to be honest. No warning, pretty crummy reasoning (my gym is getting too big or good) and at this point it only effects ONE MANAGER... me. Your game is awesome, and I'm enjoying playing... and paying for it... but this is the first thing to get me down. Espicially since I have payed and worked hard to get the kind of gym I have wanted.
  9. I know your problem... you're not training at GLADIATOR - Combat Sports.
  10. Yeah I hear ya man, I have had a few friends quit the game because they werent getting fights and were bored... probably too stubborn to come back...
  11. Get him out of cozads to a very clean gym... and dress him up with some new gear.
  12. lol... my only advice is.. don't start a gym in Vegas. Just kidding.. kinda.. but pm me if you have any other questions... Before i started a gym i actually opened one up... just checked out trainer cost ** BUT DID NOT HIRE ANY OR SPEND ANYTHING ** and then closed the gym... it automatically paid back my loan, and because I didn't spend anything I didn't lose anything. Be very carefull though... but that will give you an idea as to how much trainers and expenses are... it's tough, I'll tell you that much. And with the momentum some gyms have going, it makes it even harder.
  13. I would personally like to see the submit page buttons improved. Right now you have to submit for ever individual fighter on many different pages on the site (training schedual, possessions, supplements, clothing) It's kind of annoying and time consuming to have to go through and click and refresh the page for every fighter when I want to change something. For example... I wanted to change all my fighters shorts and shirt. I had to go through and dot hem all individually and submit 10 times... It would be nice if there was one submit button that will submit all the changes on the page once. This way a manager can go through, click a bumch of changes at once for multiple fighters and then submit the entire page. Would just be a heck of a lot easier.
  14. Well unlike the new kid in town, ive been running a pristine gym for a few weeks now, and have built up enough revenue to sustain myself for a while. You wont be making any money for a while either, so I guess you and I can beg for food together.
  15. I'd be willing to wager that a gym with 140 fighters that has 5 trainers (3 of them elite) is still a better value, and offers better training than a gym that has 2 trainers who are only strong but has 30 fighters. Having 5 trainers who focus on things multiple times a week really breaks up how often people are training on the same day as you. Our wrestling traiins takedowns and defense 6 times a week each... the chances of people training on the same day are still smaller than a gym whose wrestling trainer only offers those things once a week... almost everyone in the gym is going to train them that day.
  16. for the record... my gym is the best value in the world... 5 trainers (3 of them elite) at $75... find somewhere that is a better value than that.
  17. I was going to wait until thursday to do this, but I figure there is no time like the present GLADIATOR - Combat Sports wants to show you why it is the best gym in the world. WE HAVE HIRED 2 NEW ELITE TRAINERS!!! That brings us up to 3 elite trainers and 5 in total. We have hired a new Elite Muay Thai trainer and an elite fitness trainer. We now have more elite trainers than any gym in vegas, and as many as any other gym in the world. BUT WE ARE NOT DONE!!! We have also dropped our price to $75 a week. This is half the price as any other gym that offers elite trainers. We want you to be able to train hard and spend money where it counts supplements, clothing and traveling. So if you are not a member of GLADIATOR... why not? We are the worlds best value in ELITE training. and hands down the best gym in vegas. Why pay for trainer who are not as qualified? Come to GLADIATORS and find out why so many people trust our gym to keep improving. You should not be concerned about the number of fighters training at GLADIATOR. With 5 trainers 92 mote than any other gym in vegas) Your training time is divided but less fighters. All of our trainers are focusing on specific skills more times each week. For example or Boxing/Muay Thai trainer only trains Punching, and stiking defense now. Less fighters are going to be training at the same time as you when they can train these skills any day of the week. Come check us out, you wont be disappointed.
  18. Well that is true, but when a gym has more trainers than another they are also splitting the amount of people who will be training at the same time by a larger number. Remember that it is not just as simple as more fighters = equals bad. More fighters means higher quality training partners as well which is also very important. Have 5 trainers allows them to specialize, and less people are going to be training on any given day.
  19. I'm trying to understand the correleation between a fighter overall rating, and their specific skill rating. less say a fighter has a wonderfull BJJ rating, but has no skill points in any spefiic BJJ skills. Or the other way around.. a fighter has wonderfu submissions and defence but has useless overall rating. What is the correlation. I'm thinking about training my fighters in sparring sessions to boost their overall rating, but if that dosn't help the specific skill than I don't understand the benefit.
