  2. The messages I received notifying me that the fighters had accepted the fight offers. The first message still had the right a title fight, but when I received the second message, the fight was no longer for the title. That's how I initially found out about the bug this time. Thanks for sorting it out.
  3. I've had another instance where a title fight changed to a non-title fight in the org I run. The first accepted fight mail said the fight was for the title, the second accepted fight mail said it was not a title fight. This is the event: http://www.mmatycoon.com/orgupcomingeventpublic.php?EvID=708909 The fight in question is Velmu vs. Lemieux
  4. Good advice. I used to use E-Bay quite a bit, and this was exactly what I looked for. Plus, I figured that if someone was trying to screw me over on shipping, there was a good chance they were trying to screw me over on something else, too. I wouldn't look at anything from that seller.
  5. I'm trying to keep my heavyweight champ active, and he's run through most of my org's contenders. The fighter: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=76124 Contract is open to negotiation. Message me if interested, thanks.
  6. To me, Belfort has always been a fighter where the whole is less than the sum of his parts. Phenomenal skills, but it's never really all come together.
  7. Don't take the org stuff personal. I have an org with 91% satisfaction, and I still get occasionally cussed out and hear people bitching about what a terrible org owner I am. I think it's just part of the game. Take a break, and come back.
  8. I've never been really big on excuses, and I'm not buying this bullshit now. With the exception of his fight with Couture (where he wilted like a plucked flower), all of his real fights had been quick knockouts. Belfort looked really game early in his fight with Sakuraba, until he realized it wasn't ending soon and that Sakuraba was clearly going to dictate the pace of the fight. Maybe he wasn't mentally prepared for adversity at this point of his career, maybe he didn't have the cardio to go more than a round, but don't tell me he didn't show up to fight. That's a lame excuse. He also went on to win 6 of next 7 fights, with his only loss coming against Chuck Liddell. I notice how you mention the Gracies were smaller, but you fail to mention that Belfort was biggger. Sakuraba handed the bigger guy his ass that fight.
  9. The best part of that video was when he was rolling in someone's living room.
  10. I'd also like to point out that most of the guys who learned catch didn't do so until they were already adults. It's not like the Gracies and BJJ, who literally start training when they can walk. I'm also not sure how Vitor Belfort was at a low point in his career. At the time he was dominated by Sakuraba, he had one loss and was coming off of a knockout win over Wanderlei Silva.
  11. I agree almost 100% with this post, but I think Mir is a top heavyweight. I don't see a third fight as intriguing at all. Big wrestlers are obviously a bad matchup for Mir. A neophyte Lesnar destroyed him last time, and will do so again.
  12. I believe they both are. Assuming there were no events in the previous six days, both events would run at 90% of their normal attendance.
  13. I'm not going to read all these posts, but mostly responding to the title. Although owning an org is fun, it can be quite frustrating. There are managers who don't respond to fight offers. Managers who won't accept fights unless they have big advantages. Managers who have veteran white belt fighters with no takedown defense never accepting fights against wrestlers or jiu-jitsu guys. Managers who lobby to fight severely outmatched opponents within the org. Managers who won't fight opponents without enough hype. Most guys in my org are great guys, but I've recently begun to purge the headaches. I've started cutting fighters and will not renegotiate with several members of my org now. It takes away from the fun of running an org.
  14. Fedor landed on his face and didn't move until after the ref stopped it. Looked like a pretty legit stoppage to me.
  15. www.dolphinsim.com is really good for American football, and priced very reasonably, too. You get a free season to try it out.
  16. Nobody said it was fun, but it also wasn't tedious. One member of my alliance will probably leave over this change, and two others have said they now wish they had fewer fighters to manage. I enjoy the game, but the micromanagement necessary to stay competitive isn't fun for me. In the long term, I see myself going the routes of my alliance mates. Less fighters or just leaving.
  17. Is it just me, or is this a lot of work? At least it feels like work trying to keep my fighters' skills from declining. I like most changes to this game but this makes the game feel like a chore.
  18. He wasn't a great man before he killed his family.
  19. I have a soft spot in my heart for Shamrock. My girlfriend dated him years ago, and told me a few things about him. She said he's a jerk who'd give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. I guess he had it pretty rough growing up. Sure, even in his prime he's not up to the same class as today's MMA fighters. But while most guys in the UFC are absolutely lethal by 20, Shamrock never even started training in martial arts until well into his 20's. He really did a lot to make MMA more popular and pave the way for today's fighters. I'd like to see him win, but wouldn't even be surprised if he tried to stand with Toney for a while just to prove a point. He does that, and he gets KTFO'd in the first round.
  20. There are also submissions you can get without ever going to the ground. No 30 second time limit on that, though.
  21. There aren't any quicker submissions than falling back for a heel hook while in someone's guard. Shamrock's pulled that off against much better grapplers than Toney.
  22. Only at the very highest levels, and it includes only a handful of boxers. Boxing is getting murdered at the local/club level where I live. I think our pro (MMA) fighters make pretty decent money. One of our former fighters earned $8 grand for a fight, and he only had a 6-4 record at the time. Local boxers can barely get work around here. Nobody's interested.
  23. It's not. It's really not worth anyone's time. While it was a great game when it came out, it never improved. One of the nice things about MMA Tycoon is that it improves all the time.
