  1. Yeah guys, I did this for a little while as I was quitting back in the day. This fund is dead, though. It's been dead for a while. I wanted a way to get rid of all of my game cash, but there weren't many takers....I eventually just sold off all of it for VIP so I could put a some cash in Mike's pocket for making an awesome game. I still get on about once every few weeks to check the gym and see how my old fighters are doing
  2. Writing or any good type of design work (posters, logos, skins, etc.) If you really do your research and learn the game well, an org is probably the best way to make money. It takes quite a bit of work, though, and you need to take the time to read and ask questions on how to do it properly.
  3. If you are 1) Active 2) Putting out good or interesting designs 3) Being nice and respectful to everyone You will get a TON of support and solid advice from the guys on the forum. This is a solid example of how to start out on this game.
  4. You definitely qualify for the $100k I was giving out in this thread: http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=38253 So I'm going to send it to you. You can use it to get some sponsorships and hopefully find an org partner.
  5. I'll still be around running my supp company and goofing around from time to time.
  6. I have an MS in Finance, and I'm working on my M.B.A. I figured I better get it knocked out while I'm still single and have the time
  7. Also, here the template for an awesome skin for Valentino http://imgur.com/vMkbDrC
  8. Now that I'm working full time and going to grad school, I have had no time at all to really watch the sliders on my fighters. I am going to release everyone so they can find a good home, as it will be over a year before I graduate and have time to play much. Here's the ones getting released now: Valentino; http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=142126 Great chin, great power, quite a few of his losses are probably because I'm not paying attention to my fighters. I think he will be great with a solid manager. Wainwright: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=163675 Really nice power, the chin is probably average. Decent learner. His last fight was an impressive win over a great manager. He definitely has potential. Jamison: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=196630 A fantastic learner with great power. He looked great in his first 4 fights. Dude has TONS of potential, he just needs to get chin checked by high-level competition. Love: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=210818 A good learner that popped Big Heart and Determined in his first two fights. Great potential. Also, 3 young guys that passed my learning test as good learners, but haven't been tested for hiddens yet: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=220002 http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=220946 http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=222545
  9. I think it's a solid idea. It is VERY important for the game to be welcoming to brand new users and to make a solid first impression. That first week or two is when most people decide if they are going to stick with this game or move on. If they don't understand the most basic stuff in terms of training and sliders, they will get destroyed those first few weeks and likely quit. It's even worse if they get into an org that feeds them to can crushers. Stuff like that can be the difference between Mike getting $0 and getting $10-30.
  10. Two given out so far. If you need any advice on starting an org/company, you can PM about that as well.
  11. I'm giving out 100k to ANY new VIP manager (90K+ Manager ID) that posts in this thread. If you're a new manger and trying to decide if it's worth it to get VIP...IT'S WORTH IT. It adds so much functionality and makes the game much more enjoyable! As an added incentive to anyone that supports the game by buying VIP, I will send you 100k to help you get started
  12. The new manager training I opened in New York is doing well, and I'd like to open one in another popular city. If anyone has VIP and an open slot to start a business, let me know if you're interested. I'm offering really cheap training for brand new managers, and trying to give advice on sparring, training, supps, sliders, etc to get them started.
  13. I'm offering very cheap training to new managers who have fighters in New York. I'll be giving super cheap training and offering advice/tips on getting started in the game. The only thing I will ask is that once you have your feet under you and your fighter is making good money, you move on to a more expensive public gym so the next generation of new managers can join http://www.mmatycoon.com/gympublic.php?gmid=2793 PM me in game for an invite
  14. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25b15.jpg REPORTER: "Congratulations on the big win tonight, Soham!...I'm going to ask the question that's on everyone's mind. Can you tell us your thoughts on the crazy start to this fight?" SOHAM: "Oh, man...I don't even know what to say about that. Kalashnikov has some of the best Muay Thai skills in the world, and I knew I was outmatched in that area. It wasn't some brilliant plan by me...I just went out there and did the first thing that came to mind...a head kick! I guess he just never thought I would do something like that in a million years. It was kind of a freaky occurrence, and even I didn't expect it to land so well." REPORTER: "Tell us your thoughts on the rest of the fight...it really seemed like you were able to execute your game plan perfectly." SOHAM: "I honestly think that initial head kick completely changed the fight. I know from experience that a big moment like that can really get into your head and screw up your game plan. I think Kalashnikov was a little startled for the rest of the fight, and was unable to really get back to his strategy. Thankfully, I was able to get this thing to the ground and finish it before he got it back together completely."
  15. Now that Jason Collins has broke the barrier for gay athletes, hopefully Parker will be out of the closet soon
  16. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/3/3b10.jpg "There's not really much left to say about my fight with Calirante. It was an absolute war that went back and forth, and it was the most exciting fight of the night. I think at times I let my hands go a little bit too much....when you have someone in the octagon with you that can match your boxing skill, you just can't go out there swinging wildly. I caught him early on in the fight, but he stayed calm and slowly wore me down. I definitely need to slow down and execute my game plan next time. It was a lesson learned."
  17. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/3/3b10.jpg *Mac Jackson steps to the podium for his INY 72 Press Conference* REPORTER - Mr. Steel just announced a superfight between Torment 145 champion Oompa Loompa and the winner of Saturday's fight. How do you think you match up with Loompa, champ? Are you excited about the opportunity for a superfight? JACKSON - I'm fighting an undefeated fighter in 4 days, and you think I'm here to talk about Loompa? No more questions from you, moron...next... REPORTER #2 - What do you think about Santiago Calirante and his skill set? JACKSON - There, that's more like it.....I think Calirante fights a very similar style to me. He's a good striker with very high level wrestling. The wrestling shouldn't come into play unless he has some tricks up his sleeve. He seems to be a very sharp, crafty fighter, so I wouldn't put anything past him. He usually dictates the pace of his fights, but I'm not going to let that happen. I want to stay in control and mix up my strikes. REPORTER #2 - What is your prediction for the fight? JACKSON - I think it's going to be a fast paced, exciting fight for the fans....as for my prediction, it's the same as always...me having my hand raised up in the air, and my opponent having his head looking up at the rafters.
  18. Always nice to see an old timer come back I will throw some cash over to help get a gym running.
  19. MAC JACKSON: "I felt good about my performance last night. I've done a lot of defensive training, and I'm feeling more confident about letting my hands go in fights. I have some pop in my hands, and more and more people are going to figure that out. " "My management is looking into future fights for me. Shields would have been a fun fight for the fans, but he basically laid down his belt for me and ran away in fear. He wanted no part of a fight with me. There's 1 or 2 possible fights possible for my 145 belt....but i also told my people to do what it takes for me to move up for a superfight with Vieri at 155."
  20. If it worked like this, I would agree with you....but I have older guys with nothing in elbows and knees,...and historically MT guys have not been able to maul them, My guys do fine defending elbows and knees without them. Same thing with subs and GnP....my guys are fairly useless in those, and haven't been mauled by ground guys.
  21. Let me make an example fighter using 2760 skill points: BOX - ELITE MT - ELITE WRE - ELITE BJJ - ELITE AGIL - ELITE FLEX - ELITE SPEED - ELITE STR - ELITE COND -ELITE BAL - ELITE PUNCH - ELITE KICK - ELITE ELBOW - FEEBLE KNEES - FEEBLE CLINCH - ELITE SD - ELITE GNP - MEDIOCRE TAKEDOWN - MEDIOCRE TD DEF - ELITE SUBS - MEDIOCRE DEF GRAP - ELITE TRANSITION - ELITE ESCAPE - ELITE Hopefully this helps with the point I'm trying to make
  22. I have a pretty big question about the cap, so I'll start with the data (just assume the skill cap at 80% to make it simpler): PRIMARIES 4 SKILLS 600 TOTAL POINTS PHYSICALS 6 SKILLS 900 TOTAL POINTS SECONDARIES 13 SKILLS 1950 TOTAL POINTS GRAND TOTAL POSSIBLE POINTS: 3450 80% SKILL CAP: 2760 POINTS Here is the big question: Is the cap just 2760 total points....or is it 80% on EACH: Primaries, Physicals and Secondaries? This would be 80% on EACH one: PRIMARIES: 480 CAP PHYSICALS: 720 CAP SECONDARIES: 1560 CAP I had people in chat tell me it was just a flat 2760, put wherever you wish....no cap on each of the 3 individually. If that's true, it causes a problem: As an example, let's take a striker. A lot of very effective strikers keep these 5 skills VERY low: ELBOWS, KNESS, TAKEDOWNS, GnP, SUBS If the cap is just a flat 2760, you could just keep these 5 really low, and pretty much be elite in EVERYTHING else....all 4 primaries, all 6 physical, and the 8 must-have secondaries for a striker. If the cap isn't on EACH of the 3 sets of skills, we won't see much variety at all...just super-beasts that ignore skills they don't need. It would make it pretty similar to the pre-ticker days probably....I'm fine with it either way really.
  23. Haha, yeah I think some people are forgetting that you actually RPing a character
  24. Casino previews are more a quick-hit thing like you were giving quick tips to a gambler. They aren't the same as full previews.
