  1. Why is that sad? Watch Sakuraba-Newton. That was what a "sub-spam-fest" looks like. I'd give it a 100%.
  2. I used to have a heavyweight that cut from 290.
  3. http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=23783 look at the dates of his defeats
  4. 1. That punch did happen in the second round. We were waiting for it because it was in the promo so damn much. 2. That's not Kimbo in the third picture.
  5. move to NY and join the 36th chamber. I've got exceptional boxing, exceptional muay thai, and exceptional wrestling.
  6. *With the crowd cheering, the color commentator speaks with James Lang* Commentator: Clubber, coming into this fight you were 3-0 with 3 very big KOs at 185. Now that you've moved down to 170, I think everyone was expecting you to be even stronger and faster than before. This fight was set up and promoted as a battle of two knock out artists. But we saw a new gameplan from you. You spent half the fight on the mat. Do you feel you let the fans down by failing to finish the fight? James Lang: No, not at all. The fans love to see a war and that's what we gave 'em. I knew I had him hurt in the third but he's got tremendous heart and just wasn't gonna go down easy. I knew he was tough on his feet. You look at his last couple fights and it's all quick finishes from strikes. I knew I was better on the ground and I was willing to test him there and see if he could handle my new skills. Commentator: Speaking of how tough he is standing, talk us through this replay. Just how badly hurt were you at the end of the first round? *Replay: Brown lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt. Lang is rocked!* James Lang: Ooooooh! To be honest, I didn't know what hit me. I thought it was a punch. But yeah, he hurt me pretty bad. I got back to my corner and I was asking what round it was. That guy has some deadly kicks. But you know, I was able to clear my head, get back in the game, and work my gameplan. I want to thank all my training partners at the 36th Chamber and Ground Zero for giving me a place to show my skills! Thank you! Commentator: Great to see you again, James. I'm sure everyone here would love to see you two go to war again! David Brown and James Lang, ladies and gentleman! *The crowd cheers*
  7. he also admitted to having multiple accounts in chat.
  8. yeah. we're a fickle bunch. a good thing to do is stroke someone's ego. use someone's nick and ask how their last fight was.
  9. Just be careful. If you see the apple, you get the banana. You know what I mean?
  10. no. ban him. stop pussy footing around. a slap on the wrist will stop nobody. stomp 'em out.
  11. bitch, please http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=16794
  12. That's the injury from after the fight. Must have hurt my knee on his thick skull.
  13. Here's the story: I got a guy that I believe in, but he had some tough matchups early on and went 1-2 on his first 3 fight contract. I think he's good, but nobody wants to sign a 1-2 fighter. So QFC it is. I sign him up for a QFC and here's the match-up: http://www.mmatycoon.com/scoutfight.php?fi...&fidb=29572 I come up with a game plan to work the clinch. But if that fails, I'll shoot for the takedown and alternate between GNP and sub attempts. Check out the results: http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=46193 So, as soon as I get done reading the PBP and having a short celebratory beer, I get the following message: Yes, ladies and gents, I finally got my first Tycoon hate mail. Please keep this thread going with stories of hate mail you've received.
  14. http://www.sirlin.net/ptw-book/what-should-be-banned.html an article on banning from a professional game designer. i think everyone can learn a thing or two from david sirlin.

what's the problem with private gyms? i'd gladly pay for more fighters if i knew my gym wasn't about to get shat on. what's the "solution"?
  19. hmmm i seem to have skipped over that form thinking it was a glitch when i logged in...
  20. Buzz: Snooze? The only people I saw snoozin' were in the stands during one of your 15 minute pillow fight sleepy decisions. This guy finishes one fight and thinks he can knock me out?! I don't even know if my corner stool is comfortable because I never get the chance to rest on it. This guy's spent so much time in the corner that his stool has ass grooves. I'm glad you think you can step up to the big leagues, but you better focus on your opponent for the first round. You got a long way to go before you get the honor of being submitted by me.
  21. Everytime we find something effective that decreases the gap between top level players and newbs, we should eliminate it. Sparring gyms just make it too easy to be in control of your sparring and keep training costs down. You should have to play this game for years to be able to afford training with the elite level guys. Who cares about good planning and diligent work? The only thing that should count is how long you have been playing. This argument of saying it's more realistic has to go. Top fighters don't spar with other top fighters to get better. They don't hire guys to come train with them solely to prepare for their next fight. They just find some trainer and say "hey, teach me defensive grappling" and then they never get subbed again.
