  1. He has said that on several occasions. Reading his posts makes it seem appropriate to not change the current system. It is meant to provide a temporary selection, and fighters should not be rewarded for part time. I can tell you as a gym owner, I would not allow a different pay scale in my gym. I price based on what it costs for my coaches. Less money in means more members and more crowded classes. I would simply tell people wanting to pay less to go to another gym.
  2. You know those annoying ads that stay on your screen, even when you scroll down? I think that would work great for a notepad. I think from the point of view of Mike, adding a small advertisement banner on it would be good and not considered an eye soar from our point of view (I practically do not see the right hand ads any more). I would think making categories would be nice. Something like a tab that would let me slide down and select "Supplements." Maybe even a chance to add a reminder function. To be honest though, just the notepad is needed for planning those things 2 weeks out that I invariably forget the details of.

    NY Cozad

Maybe this helps us gym owners in NYC....
  4. Previously, Mike had said not having this was a way to reward more active managers. I like your idea, of course, because I some times mix up the training, and I cannot make all the times to change supplements.
  5. That is the idea about the orgs though. They are such cash cows, and it would be unfair to have an ATM to support a second business.
  6. Still looking for buyers with the money to get a very well-developed gym. Write to ask about finances.
  7. Maybe not $10, but $5 would work for me. And restrictions on money would be okay with me.
  8. So is it fair that someone can pick up a fabricated 5-0 fighter?
  9. for you conspiracy theorists, watch the goings on of this free agent: "Don't Smoke Crack" Tyrone Biggums [ 19211 ] Apparently a 5-0 fighter doesn't cut it with Mickey. Guess I should have read page 4....sorry
  10. The Middle East, in particular Dubai and Abu Dhabi, were havens for MMA and combat sports in the 90s and early 2000s when the US shunned them. I bring up those two because they are both logical cities in a part of the world with nothing at all. On top of all of this, the UFC is currently courting these regions with Lorenzo Ferttita, so there is real world support over a place like Italy and India.
  11. Abu Dhabi in the UAE. Based on your logic for Beijing and the Olympics, this one might be better.
  12. THis has caught me with coaches too. As a gym owner, double signing bonuses nearly ended me. I think something like an "Are you sure?" box would help.
  13. And all fighters take Sunday off and take Stamina Supplements 150++. It is a game loosely based on life. What ever makes the game more enjoyable and VIPs renewing their account is what matters. Once a company is established, it is boring to just watch it each week. I do not intend to extend my VIP, in part, due to this. I have 4 fighters that I have some how managed to coach properly. My gym could be run by a monkey now, and a 5-0 fighter can bring me as much as the gym. I am writing this because it would be more fun to be able to put the gym aside for a while and focus on something else. If that gets boring, maybe Mike would be lucky enough to have it after I renew my VIP.
  14. As a gym owner, I have been pretty liberal letting people back in the gym by dropping the weekly dues down and temporarily extending the cap. I do this because this has happened to me, and it throws you off for about 2 weeks. Maybe withdraw the money automatically from the manager if it is available before booting him. Just an idea.
  15. Great point. If a guy is looking for an advantage after 4 months of making a paper tiger, guys who train proper with coaches should be just fine with their normal game plan.
  16. I think the problem with sparring gyms is more the profitability of gyms. It is just so easy to go into a hole at first that people rather just offer a place better than Cozads for conditioning than risk coaches. I don't like sparring gyms, but I think they are needed for some gym owners before they are willing to risk big $$. It costs $12 to clean up after a guy, and equipment replacement costs every once in a while, so a guy might be able to earn enough for half a dozen elite signing bonuses while people work on things like conditioning. As much as I hate it because I didn't think of it when I started, I rather guys do that than lose their VIP because they go bankrupt. Perhaps finding a way to make gyms more profitable and guys will take more risks.
  17. I think they need something like Dubai. That region has nothing in its time zone +/- like 4 time zones. Get over needing your city having to have place. Boston is not even one of the top 5 cities in pop'n in the US (NYC, LA, Houston, Chicago, and Philly), and those top cities should be represented before Boston.
  18. The way supplements currently are, I think this might be a bit outrageous. For instance, taking an energy recovery supplement and a stamina supplement while doing cardio would essentially make every new fighter created have 10 stam because they could train up to elite without penalty. I See where you are going, but I think it would require a lot more changes than just using more multiple check boxes. Perhaps looking at it from a different perspective: diet. I think perhaps the biggest aspect of top tier fighters with no counterpart on the game is diet. I do not think the game needs to mirror life, so this isn't a necessity. If looking for a money dump though, use diet. It costs more to eat well and maintain a healthy weight, and if you get too tubby, having to buy weight loss supplements. Just an idea.
  19. That is what the biding is for...If you are interested, write me and I can discuss the profitability, specifics on where you can go with it, etc.
  20. Yea, far from the worst idea ever. This is to facilitate a discussion, not a complete idea. I think it would be more enjoyable to run 2 small companies that might just break even rather than 1 cash cow. Calling it the worst idea ever is either admitting you don't read the forums much or that you are over-dramatic. Either way, the one liner does nothing to point out problems with the idea that are constructive and can be used to refine it. Your contribution to this thread is like your contribution to life-worthless.
  21. Running businesses is probably the most fun of the game and definitely the most challenging. Here is my spin on expanding it for players without skewing the economy: Companies could be sorted by size. Large, medium and small. The idea would be that if you own 2 small companies in a city, a medium company in one city and a small company in another city, or one large company, the owner could get the enjoyment of running these companies, but not without giving something up. This also may challenge multiple business owners now to choose something evening the playing field. My idea for small companies: Gyms: Under 50 people, under $150/week Nutrition/clothing: order only 100 of each type item each week, 300 items max/week, 5 max items (clothing) or 3 max items (nutrition) offered Fight org: 1 event/month (haha, yea, not too many of these) Medium companies: Gyms: 51-150 people, under $250 Nutrition/clothing: Order 250 of each type of item each week, 500 combined items week max, no limit on amount of items offered Fight org: 1 event every 3 weeks (yea, not a lot of these either) Large companies: Gyms: over 151 people, over $250 Nutrition/clothing: no ordering restrictions Fight org: no event restrictions I limit fight orgs so much because they are the obvious cash cows in the group. Anyways, the owner would have a check box that would allow him to switch from small, medium or large, but only if he already meets the current restrictions. For instance, if he wants to move down from large clothing company to a small one to open a gym, he must have under 300 clothing items and offer to sell 5 or less items before starting his gym. Gym owners would complain that this isn't fair because gyms are not exactly huge money-makers. As a gym owner, I feel this is actually exactly opposite of this argument. People will lean against large gyms, thus giving those large, developed gyms more bargaining power in terms of price. With less people trying to develop elite gyms so they can run a second business, I would expect more small/medium specialty gyms, with large elite gyms commanding a premium on space.
  22. I am selling my company. The guy buying it wants to take out a loan to get the company because he has never owned a company and generates only money from his fighters. Is he able to do this? If not, can anyone confirm another way to get this done?
  23. I pointed this out. I stand by needing the change only because it is not consistent. I can live with either spelling so long as it is used throughout the entire game. A simple word processor can be used to make this change, so it is not much work to add a more professional look to the game by having the same word spelled with one type of variation.
