  1. I've never really done the project fighter thing to the extent other people have (preferring to let a fighter evolve during their fight career) but the closest I've got to doing so ended up having a glass jaw to the point where he got rocked by an open hand slap Fighter - http://www.mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=32182 Fight - http://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=196382

  6. Thanks for the kind words guys. No worries Jay, I know what it's like because I struggle through my writing efforts as well. I've just posted parts 2 though 4, big thanks to Joe Burn who did an awesome job of the writeup for the Sunday event
  7. Coundown part 1 posted, more coming over the next few days http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=18049
  8. (written by Joe Burn) Number 7. seed Martti Molo (12-4-1) vs Number 26. seed John Kreese (3-0-0) Martti Molo is a proud Scandinavian, a true Finnfighter! This fight will be only the second time he will fight outside of Helsinki. Former SISU Champion, he hopes to use his quickness in order to pick apart his opponent and get the win. His lethal high kicks could be the decisive factor, cause as a true welterweight, he will face much taller opponent, and will need to control the distance in the striking battle. But don’t worry, the guy is a great striker, with boxing and muay thai abilities, and a very intriguing hips movement as you can see with his clothes Who said UK fighters don’t know shit about wrestling? Not John Kreese. The Welsh fighter might be in the beginning of his MMA career, with only 3 fights, but he looks more than ready to me. Built like a typical US wrestler, he has the strength and conditioning (his gas tank is incredible) and the sensational wrestling. But he’s more than just a wrestler and is very well rounded. Jiu-jitsu brown belt, high level boxing, he can do it all. This fight will be kind of power against agility, brute force against speed. What will be the outcome in this European Showdown? Stay tuned! Number 23. seed Jeremy Tonal (10-4-0) vs Number 10. seed Rolen Spliffs (12-3-0) Jeremy Tonal might not be a SynCity fighter yet, but he feels at home in Vegas. Born and raised in Africa, he came early in Vegas and made an impressive career in the GAMMA promotion. Former Light-heavyweight Champion of this organization, he never lost a striking battle, winning 10 by KO and losing only by decision or submission. Granite chin, good power and technique are the perfect combo that this guy offers to us. Several time fighting in a main event, he also knows how to handle pressure and can’t wait for another battle. Rolen Spliffs is one of the best Los Angeles fighters. Famous for his unusual preparation before a fight (the green meditation is something everything should have test one day, but don’t try to beat Spliffs at this game, he’s a true champion), the Konflikt veteran is a powerful boxer, nearly impossible to finish. When you’re facing him, you know you will be in danger for the whole fight, with a lightning fast punch possibly ending the bout at every moment. He made no mystery of his gameplan for this bout and already enjoy this fight. Chin check! Let’s go! Number 15. seed Dojo TBjang (7-1-0) vs Number 18. seed Brad Finley (5-2-0) Speaking of the best fighter in Los Angeles, here is Dojo TBjang. This guy is the true MMA fighter. You can’t say if he’s a grappling specialist able to strike, or a striker with great jiu-jitsu. During the last two months, he came back in style from his only loss. His morale is back and he wants to enjoy every single minute of this tournament. He feels he’s the best fighter of this tournament speaking about ground talent so he will not have to worry about being taken down and can focus and his striking. He might not be an early favorite of this tournament, but in this fight, he is. Two times Champion in Amsterdam, Brad Finley came here with a solid reputation. Some people might think he’s too lazy and should be better than he is, but those guys never fought against a so powerful purple belt. He’s a master at controlling the fight, and is very patient when looking for the right opportunity to end the bout. Natural middleweight, he might have the power to hang with the big boys, but still stay the quickest. Of course, he’s the underdog coming into this fight, but you never know and he overcame the odds many times! Number 31. seed Pete Damato (1-0-0) vs Number 2. seed Earl Lee Swagger (12-1-0) Pete “Hand of Stone” Damato. I guess you know why the fans choose this nickname for him. A rookie about MMA, he came in with an extensive amateur boxing record, and even some pro fights. At 215lbs, he has the power of a much bigger fighter and can knock out everybody if he lands properly. In this fight, he should be the aggressive fighter and will try to use his reach to let his fists fly. Hook, uppercut, combinations, it will be a flurry of punches. His agility will be a decisive factor if he wants to stand a chance against the number 2 seed of this tournament! Earl Lee Swagger is already a legend. With this tournament, he looks forward to cement his status and proves he can be considered as maybe the best striker in the Tycoon’s world. SynCity veteran and former Champion, he has been through many battles, and they did some damage (just listen his fighter quote, does this guy talk like someone who ate too much shots in the head? ^^ ). But at 22 years old, he still has a lot left and he’s more than ever, this determined fighter he was back in the days, starting his career. He enters this tournament with a striking bout against Pete Damato, but the pressure is already on his shoulders as he has to not only win, but impress right away!
  9. (written by Joe Burn) Number 3. seed Muhammad Muhammad (19-3-0) vs Number 30. seed John Smith (1-1-0) One of the most experimented competitor in this tournament, Muhammad Muhammad is also one of the favorites. The submission specialist from Saudia Arabia will no doubt look to add a 20th victory in style! Still a legend in Rio de Janeiro where he fought for several years, he came in SynCity to fight the best and did exactly this! Coming from his first ever loss before the limit (hey guys, we’re talking about Jigoro Kane), he’s more angry than ever and wherever the fight will go, he will go for the kill! At only 23 years old, he still has a lot to offer and ton of opponent to finish! A new story begins here and tonight! John Smith will not count on his experience. But the guy is no joke. His stand up is truly impressive and could worry every opponent facing him. Well trained prospect, he could fear the ring rust as he didn’t fight till last march. But very well trained, he’s also focused and feels ready. He waited for this opportunity to burst on the big picture since too much time, and this match-up is the perfect opportunity for him. Not outspoken, he prefers to let his fists do the talking. If he wants to survive against the top 3 seed, he will need to come out aggressive right from the start. Wait and see… Number 19. seed Pulp Fiction (5-0-0) vs Number 14. seed Barbara Boxer (11-4-0) Pulp Fiction is more than a fighter. Coming from Hollywood (what a surprise), Pulp Fiction inspired so many people! At 200cm, he’s a huge light heavyweight, towering most of his opponents. Mix it with impressive striking and you got the 100% win via KO of Pulp Fiction. Pulp Fiction is violent. He’s like an unrated movie. After a good streak of win in London, he’s fully confident in his abilities, and we should see a classic performance from the guy, with blood ( 2 wins by TKO/cut) and fashion. Fan favorite, he has a fair shot in this bout, as all around the world, everybody like Pulp Fiction! But Barbara Boxer disagrees. “The Senator” never hides his ambition! Former “It’s Gon Rain” Champion, he (she? There’s rumor about a surgery trip in Brazil, but you know how it works… the political world is not about gift) wants to be on top of the world. MMA’s world? Political world? It doesn’t matter. Fierce defender of Social security, Education and health care, Barbara Boxer is in war with Pulp Fiction! Pulp Fiction doesn’t carry the right message and he needs to be shut down! One of the better strikers out there, Barbara Boxer will look to put him to sleep, trying to add a 11th KO in 12 wins. People can vote right now for this fight! Hail to the senator! Number 11. seed James Tony (12-2-0) vs Number 22. seed Jim Daniels (6-1-0) James Tony is a globetrotter. The Vegas fighter, made his reputation in Los Angeles then Hilo and now, as a former n°1 contender of the highly respected Blitzkrieg organization, he’s ready to go. A grappler able to knock out people, that’s always entertaining! With 50% of this fights ending via decision, he proves many time he was not easy (nearly impossible) to finish and that conditioning was not a problem for this guy. Smart competitor, he’s ability to control his opponent and dictate the pace made him a feared fighter. So, Stay tuned! But Jim Daniels isn’t afraid. The young rising star coming from Los Angeles just likes to stand and band, exchange blows and always keeps going forward! His wrestling background might be his best weapon, forcing opponents to stay on their feet and engage in the striking battle. Well coach, and with teammate of such high caliber like Fidel Puno or Hakuin Ekaku, Jim Daniels is definitely confident coming into this bout. Don’t be surprised if he’s the most aggressive fighter and the one pushing the pace. Number 27. seed Ariel Ornias (6-0-0) vs Number 6. seed Jerry Millen (10-0-0) Angel or devil, we don’t know. Ariel Ornias is still in his quest of identity. But at 6-0, the fighter from Vatican is a devil striker, kind of an angel of death for his opponents. Tall light heavyweight, world class boxer with a good gas tank, he has the tools to score a knock out against whoever faces him. But don’t underestimate his ground game, as this one might be better than his purple belt indicate, and yes, “the harassing lion” can sub you too! On October the first, Ornias manager said “wanna see a douche bag get beat up”, I guess it’s time to back this up! Cause yeah, it’s Jerry “the douchebag” Millen who’s now stepping in the cage. I can’t say enough about this guy. At 10-0 with 10wins by (T)KO, 9 in the first round, ruling the number 1 organization in London and number 36 in the pound for pound ranking, this guy is for real! His trash talking and not really classy attitude made him a target for lot of guys but he just doesn’t care! He believes he has the advantage in this battle of the undefeated and prefer to hang out with some girl (like his manager’s doing with Yvonne) rather than train (nice clothes ‘douchebag’). Might be risky, but only time will tell!
  10. Number 5 seed Phantom Menace (13-4-0) vs. Number 28 seed "The Future" Kron Gracie (10-5-0) Flying in from the tough streets of New York, this Eastern Elite Combat star is ready to go to war in the SynCity cage. Holding an impressive record of 13 wins with 4 losses, every win on Menace's record has been by stoppage. As the current EEC light heavyweight champion, Menace has top-level boxing skills and also holds a brown belt in Jui-Jitsu, so he will be looking to come out aggressively and keep his impressive record of stoppages going. "The Future" Kron Gracie is a true jet-setter who has proven big tourney experience. In his 10-5 career Gracie has fought in 7 different organisations, and fought some of the toughest fighters in the world. On top of this, Gracie fought in the legendary 2009 Tycoon Cup, so will be no stranger to big tournament pressure. As one of the handful of legitimate black belts in the tournament but also having top of the food chain boxing skills, Gracie will be a much bigger chance to win the tournament than his seeding implies. Number 21 seed "C-4" Carlos Rivera (9-2-0) vs. Number 12 seed Horst "The Referee" Linkke (15-4-0) After originally building his career in Japan, "C-4" Carlos Rivera joined the Synchronicity organisation and has since made an impressive run of 2-1 in the organisations Middleweight division. Rivera possesses some impressive boxing and wrestling skills and has never been stopped in his 9-2 career. "C-4" will be looking to use all of his explosive striking power and dynamite grappling stills if he is to progress further along in the tournament. Horst "The Referee" Linkke is a Finn native who started his career in Helsinki and soon after moved to the US to futher his career at the Konflict organisation before entering into the SynCity tournament. As one of Finland's top striking specialists, Linkke always looks to come forward and finish his opponent, holding 10 knockouts in his 15 win fight career. "The Referee" will be looking to get his hands on his opponents chin to make his namesake jump in to protect his opponent from unnecessary harm. Will Linkke be able to force a referree stoppage of his own? Number 13 seed Willie Wonka (10-1-0) vs. Number 20 seed Vinny "Vidi" Veechi (13-4-0) When Willie Wonka isn't giving golden ticket holders a tour of his chocolate factory, the Brazilian grappling star is hard at work in the gym preparing for his first round bout in the SynCity tournament. As the former light heavyweight champion of Eternal Fight Club in Las Vegas, Wonka actually gave up his belt to compete in the tournament, so his stakes are even higher, if higher stakes than a million dollars was even possible! Wonka has a near perfect record of 10 wins and 1 loss, and has both knockout and submission wins on his record. Can Wonka keep his golden ticket run going in the SynCity cage? Vinny "Vidi" Veechi is an extremely well rounded fighter of Italian origin, having ferocious striking, a fearsome ground game, and no clear weaknesses. Veechi has put these skills to good use in the Synchronicity middleweight division, even holding a win against the current SynCity middleweight champion, the legendary Johnny Cage. This will be Veechi's 10th fight for the organisation so he will feel right at home in the SynCity cage. Will this home ground advantage serve him well in his first round match? Number 29 seed "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel (12-6-0) vs. Number 4 seed "The Wizard" Hans Schwanz (12-0-0) Any fighter who steps into the SynCity cage is a true warrior, but it takes a special sort of bravery to come into a high profile tournament after 4 straight losses. This is the situation that "Chief" Wahoo McDaniel finds himself in, who never hesitated in answering the call to come in as a late entrant to the tournament. After a run of 10 straight wins, McDaniel went 1-5 in the SynCity light heavyweight division, albeit against some of the toughest fighters the organisation has to offer. What is undeniable is that McDaniel has impeccable striking skills, and an unbreakable faith in his ability to compete at the highest level. With so much of MMA being a mental game, could this mental strength could result in McDaniel defying the critics with a career resurrecting performance? However first he needs to get through "The Wizard" Hans Schwanz, one of the favourites to win the tournament, and with good reason. "The Wizard" has a perfect record of 12 wins and no losses, and comes from one of the best fight camps in the world. As the long time RHOE light heavyweight champion, Schwanz has one of the most fearsome high-kicks in the world today, reminding many of the Pride-era Cro-cop. This Oklahoma resident can strike with the best of them and does not know the meaning of the word defeat. Will Schwanz be able to cast a spell over the tournament and keep his perfect record intact?
  11. Thirty-two elite competitors. One legendary SynCity cage. One million dollars. The countdown to the Synchronicity Millionaires Tournament starts now... Number 1 seed Ossi "The Omen" Jokinen (17-1-1) vs. Number 32 seed Taylor "The Terror" Norton (0-0-0) You don't become the number one seed in a tournament as rich in talent as the Syn Tournament for no reason, and Ossi "The Omen" Jokinen has seventeen. The native Fin has put together a fearsome 17-1-1 record largely in the St Petersburg based Russian Combat organisation, with 11 of his wins by knockout. Jokinen has a reputation as one of the most elite strikers to ever fight in Russia, and now will be looking to put his skills to the test under the big lights of the SynCity cage in Las Vegas. Bookmakers have Jokinen as one of the favourites to go home with the million dollars, will he live up to the hype and continue his path of destruction? On paper, Taylor "The Terror" Norton looks to be the perfect prospect for mixed martial arts. Extensive amateur and professional boxing experience, a solid college wrestling background and a competent and evolving ground game. Yet Norton is skipping that whole "prospect" phase and going directly into the Syn tourney as his debut, against one of the most feared MMA fighters in the world today. Time will tell if Norton is crazy brave or just plain crazy, but as has been seen many times in the past, anything can happen when the cage door locks behind the two competitors. With practically nothing being known about Norton's MMA skills, he is truly the dark horse of the tournament. Number 17 seed Led Zeppelin (5-0-0) vs. Number 16 seed Oscar "Crusher" Alarcon (15-7-0) Hailing from the big lights of his native New York, Led Zeppelin is another fairly recent convert to mixed martial arts, having an undefeated record of 5 wins and no losses, all by stoppage. As a kickboxer of unparallelled experience and skill, Zeppelin has also put together some solid grappling skills to ensure he can keep the fight standing where he wants it. As possibly the most technically skilled striker in the tournament, Zeppelin will make his Syn debut with plenty of confidence. However if he is to succeed he is going to have to take on one of the true veterans of Las Vegas MMA. Oscar "Crusher" Alarcon is one of the true veterans of the sport, having a professional record of 15 wins and 7 losses, spread between several of the elite orgs of Las Vegas, including his last 5 fights in the Synchronicity Welterweight division. Even though he will be fighting a man bigger than he has in the past, as one of the most well-rounded fighters in the tournament Alarcon has every chance to get past the first round and beyond. As well as an impressive array of striking skills, Alarcon has a brown belt in Jui-jitsu and could be looking to take this fight down to the mat. Number 9 seed Norman Ewert (16-5-0) vs. "Amazing" Aaron Gracie (16-11-1) Norman Ewert has long been one of the top contenders in the Synchronicity light-heavyweight division and with good reason. As a fearsome striker with all-round good MMA skills, Ewert won the light-heavyweight strap from the legendary Jin Sen in the main event of Supernova II back in April of this year. With all but 2 of his 16 wins being by knockout, Ewert will be looking to land hard and early on the chin of his opponent. Can the long-time Synchronicity veteran put a stamp on the SynCity cage as being his house? Another long-time Synchronicity veteran, "Amazing" Aaron Gracie started fighting in the organisation at the early age of 18 back in June of 2009. Gracie went on to become a solid contender in the organisations middleweight division, before a form slump saw him dumped from the organisation. Some solid training earnt Gracie his black-belt and a subsequent career resurrection, now Gracie will be looking to re-enter the SynCity cage to again face the best the MMA world has to offer. Number 25 seed Jonas "Darth" Justice (5-0-0) vs. Number 8 seed Green Pea (14-2-0) As a long-time trainee of one of the best managers in the MMA world, Jonas Justice is widely tipped to be one of the dominant forces in the Millionaires Tournament. Justice's crisp technical striking and ferocious power have given him an undefeated record of 5 wins, all by knockout in the first round. Despite his impressive skills and solid camp, Justice is still a relative newcomer to the sport so he will be looking to put his big fight nerves behind him. Will Justice live up to the hype and go on to be one of the dominant forces in the tournament like the fans are expecting? If the tournament was decided purely on courage, Green Pea would surely be the favourite of the tournament by far. As the reigning Warriors FC 135 pound champion, Pea is by far the smallest fighter in the SynCity tournament. But what Pea lacks in size, he more than makes up with superlative all-round MMA skill and pure balls. With an excellent professional record of 14 wins and 2 losses, Pea certainly has the experience and skill to do well in the tournament, the key question will be how he handles the difference in size. Can Pea one again prove the lessons tought by Royce Gracie, that size isn't everything?
  12. IMO the person to beat Kane will be the winner of the tourney
  13. Great work Scotty2hatty I don't think it would be right for me to bet though
  14. haha awesome btw I want to thank all the competitors for signing their fight contracts so quickly, all fights are signed up and ready to go.
  15. I've also converted it to an image, you can see it here http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/6531/syntourneyr11.png I will be talking to Franky about this over the coming days, we have a few writers we can call upon and I might write some of it myself as well
  16. We are pushing back a week to the 30th, will update the OP Definately, it is going to be a real test of hiddens I think, Chin especially.
  17. I recorded the p4p ranking at the time people entered the competition, as said in the OP. Some people have won or lost since then and it has skewed the rankings.
  18. No takers? Last chance before I start pawning off equipment
  19. No Franky is an Austrian, I'm an Australian btw check the OP for seeded list of fighters and the first round matches
  20. Cheers for the heads up Estefan, contract sent to Dojo
  21. Hype/Pop should be the only consideration IMO. Otherwise the newer fighters never get a chance to see how they stack up against the veterans, and what is the point of that? Look at the real MMA world... Lesnar vs Couture and Dunham vs Sherk spring to mind, neither of these fights would have happened purely on when the newer fighter entered the sport (i.e. fighter "ID")
  22. OP has been updated with the most current fighter list, not finalised yet. We are waiting on one or two more responses then brackets will be ready to be posted shortly after.
  23. We are hoping to finalise the brackets today or tomorrow, will keep you posted
