  1. I will be picking Weidman in the rematch. Silva's style relies on him being faster than his opponent, it looked to me like Weidman was considerably faster. It looked to me like Silva started clowning in the first round to try and fool the judges into thinking he won the round, where it was clearly Weidman's IMO.
  2. New nutrition company, Wilson's Pharmaceuticals, now has The Islands first Strength suppliment... get Coconut Creatine 144 at http://mmatycoon.com/nutritionpublic.php?ncid=3805
  3. Welcome back Warbringer Great to see there is still a strong community here!
  4. Cheers, some good advice, pretty much in line with the way I used to make my fighters back in the day :-) My main flaw back then was to try and stick to even the most flawed fighters, hence my record Thanks to the generosity of Chuck I'll be able to get some guys going and see how they do, and build up from there.
  5. Would be great to see Syn going again, it was my home org for many of my fighters back in the day.
  6. Oh cheers man, muchly appreciated edit: joined Team Finland after all
  7. Whoops just made a Helsinki fighter but didn't see the price tag on your gym I gave away all my cash when I left so might find a cheaper one for now Thanks for the advice guys
  8. Hi all I haven't played for years but thought I'd give Tycoon another go. Any tips for a manager who hasn't played for a while? Especially what the current thinking is regarding creating new 18 year old fighters, start as specialists and train the rest up or start all rounded? Crappy cardio to start with and train the crap out of it before starting the fight career? What's the best way to judge a fighters learning speed hidden these days? Also are there any half-decent gyms around for managers/fighters with low cash? Cheers :-)
  9. Yeah man I plan on it. I have a Battlefield 3 platoon with your name on it as well
  10. Thanks for the kind words guys. My fighters are now on the FA list, I'll be interested to see who gets picked up and who retires, and how they do with more active management. Thanks man, yes you are right in the time I have played I only ever knocked back one fight and it was for stylistic reasons (fighter had fought 3 strong wrestlers in a row and wanted to try him against a different type of fighter for the 4th fight) Lots of short notice fights to help orgs fill cards at last minute too. I've always taken the attitude that having a good relationship with your org owners is as important a part of the game than anything else. I definately culled a few of my original guys (mostly the slow learners) but 4 of them are still around the place (Bogan, Gracie, Barnes and Limba)
  11. Hi all As some of you already know I am winding up my involvement in the game. After two and a half years of playing my interest has waned to the point I'm not gameplanning or even checking the result of my fights, let along managing training or giving my gym the time it deserves. Mike will be releasing my fighters to the FA list so there will be some decentish veterans on the list quite soon. I want to stress that it isn't any change that Mike has made that has prompted this, I think he has done a stellar job in creating and evolving the game over the time I've been here. A few thanks Mike - see above Franky Fin - I was involved with Syn right from the start and Franky has always been an absolute champion guy to work with. Avon Barksdale, Chris Karter and the rest of the Convicted guys - They have done a great job with taking over Syn. Avon was always number one during the time I was number two (years ago now lol) and is a top guy. Chris has always been great to work with as well and has been very supportive of me running the SCE gym. Matt Mac - I've had at least one or two fighters in CFC for a long time and Matt has always been a top org owner while I've been there. Franky Redz - For providing my guys great training over the last few years. Ari Gold and Brian Robertson - TFC and MIFC were legendary orgs which were a privelege to be a part of. All the other org owners I'm currently involved with - Mentor from GAMMA, Serge from RTT, C Bd from HWP cheers all and good luck, after a record of 302-224-5 (3 NCs) thats me signing off PK
  12. You can call on any of my Syn guys if you need mate
  13. I really like HWP to be honest, I think he's come up with something quite unique as far as orgs go. The combination of contracts balanced heavily on the win bonus, as well as having a huge roster of one weight division makes it quite different. He's always done shorter contracts for me if I've requested it too.
  14. Accuracy is too accurate. I've had an Elite boxer with Elite striking defence get hit 100% of everything that was thrown at him. It seems a bit unrealistic to me. Both accuracy and counter/aggressive need 75% to become the new 100%, or something similar IMO.
  15. Can we elect to use it even if we aren't inactive? I have nearly forgotten a flight a few times, and I would rather lose than NC the fight tbh.
  16. Accuracy is a little too accurate to be honest. Around the levels of 100% accuracy, the level of striking defence becomes completely irrelevant, which is a bit overboard.
  17. Now that I have had a chance to review the changes properly, I unreservedly support and applaud the changes you are making, Mike. People are focussing way too much on the negative and not enough on the positive. The fact that a coach class size of 6 after the changes will be the equivalent of a class size of 2 now more than makes up for the skill decline nerf. I also really like the extra hiddens you are adding, the variable skill decline age and the natural affinity to certain skills or attributes. From the way the training changes list reads, it looks like it will breathe new life into public gyms, while still keeping an incentive for running a private gym. Kudos
  18. I don't do project fighters, never have. My guys have always developed while they were fighting their way up the ranks rather than being quadruple sensational with a twist of lemon before they take their first QFC. And I see my guys losses and slightly dodgy records as badges of honor rather than losses being something to be feared. The ironic thing is if these changes were in since day one my way of doing things would be the "correct" one
  19. Quad Exceptional is annoyingly low? None of my guys come even close Then again my guys are fighters, and not gym heroes
  20. Man, I wish these changes came in when I had The Beez Nest. The advent of private gyms caused it to lose members and bleed me dry, so I started a private gym to keep up with the times, now this It's going to take some time to take in what all this means, I like the changes from a game design and game health point of view, but in the short term its going to cause some upheaval.
  21. Sorry to see the org go Brian, it was one of the first orgs I joined and you have always put on great events and been a great org owner to work with. So thank you for everything over the last 2 or so years.
  22. Grats Cozzy... happy to have your MW champ on my roster
  23. I had my 400th (and 401st) career fight today, now on 234-164-3. Next highest I could find was Fat Boy on 394 fights. If only my ratio was a bit better
