  4. http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/26/26b12.jpg If I win my next fight against DJ, I want to fight for the vacant belt. My division is shallow and I don't see any other fight afterwards that would make sense. I don't want to pollute the smack talk forum to get a title shot but I believe that it is the next step in my career and once I knockout DJ on the 12th, I hope you will all agree with me. -Rodrigo Silva
  5. Mayweather Jr. versus Silva could be very interesting but I just want to see Mayweather lose

  11. Nobody is going to win this fight easily. I don't believe Jim miller will be able to submit Cerrone and I think that Cerrone has the better BJJ game as well. A lot of people really underestimate Cerrone's ground game if they have only watched his UFC fights and not his WEC fights. Cerrone has 15 wins by submission and will outclass Miller on the feet if the fight stays standing. Miller does have the advantage in his wrestling but even if Miller is on top, Cerrone will be dangerous with his signature triangle choke or armbar. Another thing to think about is that Cerrone has been in 5 round fights and Miller hasn't so Miller's cardio could come into play as well. My prediction is that Cerrone will out strike Miller and pick up a 3rd round TKO
  12. I'm pretty sure Assuncao got injured and thats why TJ got the title shot.
  13. Lets Get It On Review: Hello fight fans, I’m Kelly Floran and man was this a fight card to remember. There were multiple finishes and some really close fights and I feel sorry for anyone who missed it. The card was fantastic from top to bottom and here is how it all went down: 1st Preliminary Fight Tyson Niel (1-1) VS Shinya Hideyoshi (3-0) Both fighters squared off and Hideyoshi was very successful in scoring takedowns early. Niel landed a huge knee that had Hideyoshi rocked and cut but he was able to recover and survive the round eating a few strikes before the bell rang. The second round started and Niel clinched up with Hideyoshi and continued to hit his cut, opening it up more. Niel dropped Hideyoshi with a knee but Hideyoshi got back to his feet and responded with a shot to the body. Niel closed out the round in the clinch and worked some knees to the body. The third round was all about striking as Niel and Hideyoshi slugged it out in the center of the octagon. Hideyoshi was dropped and his cut opened up once again. Hideyoshi just couldn't come back from the beating he took in the earlier rounds as Niel continued to land clean strikes to end the fight. Niel really showed his heart and determination in this fight as he give Hideyoshi his first professional loss. Result: Tyson Niel def Shinya Hideyoshi via Unanimous Decision (30:27, 30:27, 30:27) 2nd Preliminary Fight Rafael Dos Santos (3-0) VS Daigo Sato (1-2) Our second fight on the preliminary card was a great one as these two featherweights faced off. The first round featured both striking and grappling as both fighters slugged it out early until Sato managed to score with a takedown into side control. Sato tried multiple submissions but Dos Santos did an excellent job defending them. The second round was all striking and Sato seemed to be tired midway threw. Sato was able to press Dos Santos against the cage and landed some clean shots to the head and body before shooting in on a takedown. Sato tried to lock on a last second submission but Dos Santos was able to escape and land in Sato’s guard, closing out the round. Dos Santo was the aggressor early in the third and slammed Sato against the cage landing some short punches from the clinch. Sato landed a nice leg kick that cause Dos Santos to fall but Sato chose to let him back up. Sato avoided a lot of Dos Santo’s strikes late in the round and managed to score a takedown and then quickly stood up. Dos Santos clinched with Sato again but you could easily see that Dos Santos was limping on his lead leg from those leg kicks. The fight ended with both fighters trading short punches in the clinch but Sato pretty much dominated the fight. Result: Daigo Sato def Rafael Dos Santos via Split Decision ( 30:27, 30:27, 27:30) 3rd Preliminary Fight Marvin Jackson (1-1) VS Yatamatomo Hirozaki (3-2) Our third fight of the night was between Marvin Jackson and Yatamatomo Hirozaki. Hirozaki threw a jab early that opened up Jackson. Jackson looked for the takedown but Hirozaki stuffed it nicely. Jackson continued to look for the takedowns but Hirozaki was able to keep it standing and landed a devastating right-left combo that had Jackson out on his feet. Hirozaki followed it up with a brutal right hand that left Jackson completely unconscious. Result: Yatamatomo Hirozaki def Marvin Jackson via KO (Strikes) at 0:51 of round 1 4th Preliminary Fight Rodrigo Silva (4-0) VS Hiro Watanabe (5-6) Our fourth fight of the night featured undefeated Rodrigo Silva and Hiro Watanabe. The first round was all action as Siva was able to gain the takedown early. Watanabe and Silva both looked for submissions throughout the round but Silva dominated in top position until the bell rang. The second round was a change of pace as Watanabe landed a takedown of his own and moved into full mount. Silva tried to control Watanabe but was ineffective as Watanabe landed some good shots from the top. Silva tried a last second submission off of his back but there wasn't enough time on the clock as the round came to an end. The third and final round began and Silva almost immediately took Watanabe to the ground. Both fighters looked for submissions but both of them were covered in sweat to it was to slippery to secure anything. The fight came to a close with Silva trying for another last second submission which looked good on the judges scorecards. Close fight between these two but Silva gets to keep his undefeated record moving to 5-0. Result: Rodrigo Silva def Hiro Watanabe via Unanimous Decision (29:28, 29:28, 29:28) 5th Preliminary Fight Slip Cahn (3-2) VS Antonio Gracie (4-1) We move on to our featured fight of the preliminary card as Slip Cahn faced off against Antonio Gracie. Gracie got the takedown early but Cahn managed to sweep into half guard. Cahn looked for a kimura but Gracie had the better BJJ and was able to defend it with ease. Gracie pushed off of Cahn and locked on a beautiful armbar. Gracie went belly down and Cahn was forced to tap. Cahn looked like he was in a lot of pain when he was tapping out and hopefully there isn't any damage to the arm. Antonio Gracie also took home the submission of the night bonus. Result: Antonio Gracie def Slip Cahn via Submission (Armbar) at 1:35 of round 1 1st Main Card Fight Ryan Baxter (17-4) VS Dane Hoy (29-15) We kick the main card off in the middleweight division. Baxter and Hoy took the center of the octagon and traded shots before Baxter initiated the clinch and landed a head kick which sent Hoy to the mat. Baxter followed Hoy to the mat and controlled him for the remainder of the round. The second round began and Baxter clinched with Hoy again. Baxter broke the clinch after landing several shots that seemed to soften Hoy up. Baxter landed a huge left-right combo that send Hoy crashing to the mat in a daze. Baxter followed Hoy to the ground once again but the referee stood them back up because Baxter wasn't being active. Baxter got Hoy in the clinch again and landed a clean body shot to the ribs. Baxter broke the clinch and landed another combination that knocked Hoy down for the third time in the fight. Baxter let Hoy up but then preceded in landing a jab followed by a nasty uppercut that left Hoy completely unconscious with only a second left in the round. Great muay thai shown by Baxter as he improves to 18-4. Result: Ryan Baxter def Dane Hoy via KO (Punches) at 4:59 of round 2 2nd Main Card Fight Mark Coleman (37-34-3) VS Dakker Kane (5-1) Our second fight of the main card took place in the middleweight division. Both fighters took the center at the bell but it was Coleman who immediately dove in for a takedown. Kane looked for multiple submissions on his back but Coleman defended them well. The referee was forced to stand the fighters up and Kane took advantage of the situation and landed a takedown of his own. Coleman looked to set up a guillotine but Kane saw it coming and defended it. Coleman was able to reverse the position which prompted Kane to try a submission of his own which proved ineffective. The second round began and Kane was immediately rocked with a stiff jab. Kane was also cut on the exchange and Coleman shot in for another takedown which turned into a huge slam that had Kane in a daze. The referee was forced to stop the fight after a few more ground and pound shots were thrown. Amazing victory by Mark Coleman as he earns KO of the Night. Result: Mark Coleman def Dakker Kane via TKO (Slam) at 0:22 of round 2 3rd Main Card Fight Royce Gracie (13-9) VS Trey Golden (14-8) Our next fight took place in the welterweight division as Royce Gracie took on Trey Golden. Golden moved into the clinch early and a knee to the head opened up a cut on Gracie’s forehead. Gracie tried to take the fight to the ground multiple times but none of his attempts were successful. Golden really wanted the fight to be in the clinch and was extremely effective in stuffing Gracie’s takedown. Round two began and Golden initiated the clinch again but Gracie was successful in pulling guard. The referee stood the fighters back up and Golden once again backed Gracie up in the clinch and landed some nice knees to the body and head. Gracie pulled guard again but did nothing on the ground and the referee had seen enough, standing them back up. Golden continued to work his game plan in the clinch and eventually landed a huge knee to the head that rocked Gracie. Gracie’s cut opened up more and after a couple more unanswered knees and strikes to the head, the referee called the fight. Great clinchwork shown by Golden as he goes 3-0 in the Evil Evolution octagon. Result: Trey Golden def Royce Gracie via TKO (Strikes) at 3:46 of round 2 Co-Main Event Malutin Andrey (14-7) VS Albert Anastasia (14-5) Now on to our co-main event as two top bantamweights face off. The bell for round one rang and after a few strikes were exchanged Anastasia decided to take the fight to the ground. Anastasia landed a nice elbow and followed up with some effective ground and pound from side control. Andrey was able to get back to his feet but Anastasia immediately took him back down. Andrey escaped once again and clinched with Anastasia. A strike by Andrey rocked Anastasia and a cut also opened up as well. Anastasia was able to survive the round but he may not have had enough time to recover as the bell for round two rang. Anastasia scored with a couple takedowns in the second round and did an excellent job with his ground and pound. Anastasia let Andrey up towards the end of the round and the round ended with Anastasia throwing a nice combination. The third round was mostly fought in the clinch as Andrey pressed Anastasia up against the cage. Anastasia looked to take the fight back to the ground but Andrey answered back with some hard shots to the body. Anastasia tried to secure the takedown once again but Andrey countered with a devastating head kick that had Anastasia out on his feet. Andrey followed up with some clean strikes and the referee was forced to step in. What a close fight but Andrey really showed his heart in that one. Result: Malutin Andrey def Albert Anastasia via TKO (Kick and Punches) at 3:27 of round 3 Main Event Captain Beefheart (17-15) vs Kasim Akande (20-9) Its time for our main event between these two top light heavyweights. Both fighters chose to exchange early but it was Akande who was on the wrong end of a high kick that opened him up. Beefheart clinched with Akande and landed some great shots to the body. Akande looked gassed early but was able to score with a takedown. Beefheart tried to work a guillotine but Akande managed to defend it with ease. Beefheart was working on a sweep and was eventually successful gaining full mount and unloading on some nice ground and pound to close the round. The second round began and Akande landed a few good shots to the body as Beefheart looked to clinch. After a few tries Beefheart successfully clinched with Akande and started peppering him with elbows. Akande’s cut opened up even more and a short punch inside seemed to rock Akande. Beefheart broke the clinch and continued to unload punches until the referee had seen enough. Great striking by Beefheart as he gets the win here tonight. Result: Captain Beefheart def Kasim Akande via TKO (Strikes) at 4:50 of round 2 Congrats to all of the fighters who participated in saturdays event. 17. Go Home Or Go Hard Preview- http://oi61.tinypic.com/317fnly.jpg Hi I’m Kelly Floran and oh boy do we have a fight card for you. “Go Hard Or Go Home” is this saturday and you wont wanna miss it. Here are the fights: 1st Preliminary Card Fight Fujiwara Takamori VS Big Boss We kick off the fight card in the welterweight division as striker Fujiwara Takamori faces grappler Big Boss. Both fighters are coming off of losses so both are trying to get into the win column again. Takamori will probably look to keep the fight standing but in order to do so he’ll have to be able to stuff the takedowns of Boss. Boss has the superior wrestling pedigree so it should be interesting to see if Boss will look to take him down and if he will be able to keep Takamori from standing up. Cole’s Prediction: Boss via decision Kelly’s Prediction: Takamori via TKO in round 2 2nd Preliminary Card Fight Patrick Mc Ginnley VS Lenny Jones This is another striker vs grappler matchup as Patrick Mc Ginnley takes on Lenny Jones. Jone’s has the superior ground game and has the chance to submit Mc Ginnley if the fight goes there. Mc Ginnley on the other hand is a much better striker and will probably look to sprawl and brawl. If the fight goes to the ground I’d say that Jones wins the fight but if Mc Ginnley is able to keep it standing then he should walk away with the win. Cole’s Prediction: Mc Ginnley via KO in round 1 Kelly’s Prediction: Mc Ginnley via TKO round 3 3rd Preliminary Card Fight Shinya Aoki VS Damion Skye Our third fight of the night is between BJJ black belt Sinya Aoki and striker Damion Skye. Aoki has seven wins by submission and has never been finished in his professional career going into this fight. Skye on the other hand has had 19 wins by knockout and has never been finished either. This fight looks to be a stylistic matchup between boxer and grappler and it should be interesting to see where the fight will take place. Cole’s Prediction: Aoki via submission in round 2 Kelly’s Prediction: Skye via decision 4th Preliminary Card Fight Pedro Alvarez VS Jake Gustafsson Our fourth fight on the preliminary card is between Pedro Alvarez and Jake Gustafsson. Both fighters are coming off of a loss and a win tomorrow night will put one of them back on track. Gustafsson seems to have the advantage in the boxing so he will probably keep the fight standing and look for the KO. Alvarez has the advantage in the clinch as well as the ground so he will probably be comfortable wherever the fight goes. Cole’s Prediction: Alvarez via decision Kelly’s Prediction: Alvarez via submission in round 1 5th Preliminary Card Fight Pedro Marcelo VS LeRoy Parker Our featured fight on the preliminary card is a rematch between Pedro Marcelo and LeRoy Parker. Parker won their last fight is unanimous decision and gave Marcelo his first professional loss. In the last fight Parker was able to take Marcelo down with ease so you have to wonder whether or not Marcelo has been training his takedown defense. Marcelo does have an advantage in the standup so if he is able to stuff the takedown, Parker might be in for a rough night. Cole’s Prediction: Parker via decision Kelly’s Prediction: Marcelo via TKO in round 3 1st Main Card Fight Mark Coleman VS Michael Do We kick the main card off with an exciting fight in the middleweight division. Coleman has the advantage in the clinch and also has a lot more experience than Do, which could play a factor. Do has never been finished in his professional career and is significantly younger so we’ll see if he’ll be able to use that to his advantage. This could easily be a fight of the night candidate so keep your eyes open for this one. Cole’s Prediction: Coleman via TKO round 1 Kelly’s Prediction:Coleman via decision 2nd Main Card Fight BeeJay Penn VS Trey Golden Our second main card fight is an exciting one in the welterweight division. Trey Golden is coming off of a huge win over Karl Hungus and will look to keep his streak alive as he faces BJJ blackbelt BeeJay Penn. Penn has more experience with 17 of his 26 wins coming by T(KO) and has the slight edge in boxing. This fight is pretty close on paper but if Golden isn't able to stuff the takedowns, Penn may walk away with a submission win. Cole’s Prediction: Penn via submission in round 2 Kelly’s Prediction: Penn via submission in round 2 3rd Main Card Fight Jonny Do VS Rostam Samani Heavyweights clash in our third main card fight as Jonny Do squares off against Rostam Samani. Samani has the superior muay thai but otherwise everything else is nearly identical. Do has had more fights and 21 out of 26 wins have been via finish. Samani has 14 wins via finish with 12 of them being by T(KO). There could be a finish wherever the fight takes place so anything could happen. This fight has a post fight bonus written all over it and it will be exciting to see these two elite fighters face off on saturday. Cole’s Prediction: Samani via decision Kelly’s Prediction: Do via decision Co-Main Event Woohun Do VS Gabriel Rua Our co-main event is in the lightweight division as grappler Woohun Do faces muay thai striker Gabriel Rua. Do is coming off of a tough loss and will be hungry to get a win this saturday. Rua win his last fight in a decision so he will look to make it two in a row. Do is the superior grappler holding a black belt in jiu jitsu. Rua has the slight edge on the feet and will probably look to keep it there but it should be exciting to watch these two fighters give it their all in their Evil Evolution debuts. Cole’s Predictions: Do via submission in round 1 Kelly’s Predictions: Do via submission in round 2 Main Event Simon Bruce VS Marcus Avery Our main event is between the hard hitting Simon Bruce and the organizations top ranked fighter Marcus Avery. Both fighters are coming into this fight riding a two fight win streak that they each want to keep alive. This fight is almost completely equal on paper so it will be interesting to see who will win. This is a tough one to call and it should be very close as you can expect both fighters to bring their A game. This is going to be a great main event and it is my pick for fight of the night. Can’t wait to see these two slug it out. Cole’s Prediction: Avery via decision Kelly’s Prediction: Bruce via decision This is going to be a great night of fights and be sure to watch “Go Hard Or Go Home”. I’m Kelly Floran and it’s been a pleasure.
  18. No Turning Back Review- Greeting fight fans, I’m Kelly Floran and boy did we have an exciting card. Here is what went down… 1st Preliminary Fight Tyson Tyco VS Mamadou Abdoulaye Our first fight was a quick one as Abdoulaye pressed Tyco up against the cage and tossed him to the ground landing in his guard. Abdoulaye was too close to Tyco’s body and Tyco locked on a deep guillotine that caused Abdoulaye to panic and tap before he went to sleep. Tyco improves to 3-0 with all three of his wins inside of the Evil Evolution octagon and Abdoulaye drops to 4-2. Result: Tyson Tyco def Mamadou Abdoulaye via Submission (Guillotine) at 0:28 of round 1 2nd Preliminary Fight Marion Hendricks VS Alexander Dezhnyov Marion Hendricks perfect record was on the line in our second fight of the night against Alexander Dezhnyov. Hendricks shot in for a takedown early and landed in side control where he landing some decent strikes. Hendricks looked for two arm triangles that were unsuccessful but still maintained the position. Hendricks looked for a third arm triangle which was defended nicely and Hendricks tried 3 more submissions that all failed to produce anything. At around 2:30 mark Hendricks tried for another arm triangle but this time transitioned into an armbar that forced Dezhnyov to tap quickly. Dezhnyov showed some good submission defense defending 6 out of 7 submissions by Hendricks. Hendricks improved to 6-0 winning his Evil Evolution debut. Result: Marion Hendricks def Alexander Dezhnyov via Submission (Armbar) at 2:46 of round 1 3rd Preliminary Fight Tyson Niel VS Aiko Hideyoshi Our third fight on the preliminary card was another fast one as Hideyoshi landed a great takedown into half guard. Hideyoshi transitioned easily into the full mount and landed some powerful hammerfists that got through Niels defenses. Niel made the mistake of flailing around and gave Hideyoshi an arm which he took advantage of and pulled of a slick armbar that caused Niel to tap. Hideyoshi wins his professional debut and Niel dropped to 1-1. Hideyoshi also won his first post fight bonus with the submission of the night. Result: Aiko Hideyoshi def Tyson Niel via Submission (Armbar) at 0:58 of round 1 4th Preliminary Fight Shinya Hideyoshi VS Miguel Gonzales Our fourth fight was all over the place as Gonzales clinched up and pulled guard working on submissions from the bottom. Gonzales looked for a guillotine but Hideyoshi knew how to defend it and got out of it with ease. Hideyoshi tried to transition into the mount but was unsuccessful and decided to try some ground and pound. The referee had to stand the fighters up because Hideyoshi was just laying there catching his breath. The two fighters remained standing and Gonzales connected with a flashy spinning back fist. Gonzales was doing a good job moving out of the way of Hideyoshi’s strikes but was hit with a leg kick at the end of the round. Both fighters took the center of the octagon as the second round began. Both looked to throw combinations and Hideyoshi continued to pepper the legs of Gonzales with low kicks. Gonzales closed the distance by clinching with Hideyoshi and tried to pull guard but Hideyoshi never went down. Hideyoshi rocked Gonzales with a head-body combination and Hideyoshi followed it up with some clean hooks that dropped Gonzales to the canvas. Gonzales was hit with some more unanswered strikes and the fight was eventually called. Result: Shinya Hideyoshi def Miguel Gonzales via TKO (Punches) at 1:49 of round 2 5th Preliminary Fight Shimizu Matsuhita VS Mats Sundin Smit Our next fight was in the light heavyweight division as Shimizu Matsuhita squared off with Mats Sundin Smit. Smit looked for high kicks early landing a couple but missing the rest. Matsuhita looked unfazed and countered with a right hand that dropped Smit to the canvas. Smit looked rocked and a cut opened up above the right eye. Smit was in big trouble but tried a switch kick that missed its target. Smit still looked out of it and Matsuhita connected with a hard hook and dropped Smit for the second time. Matsuhita jumped and landed into side control hitting Smit with some ground and pound until the referee had to step in. Result: Shimizu Matsuhita def Mats Sundin Smit via TKO (Strikes) at 1:53 of round 1 1st Main Card Fight Floyd Thompson VS Tanaka Wukong We had another great fight in the light heavyweight division as Floyd Thompson took on undefeated Tanaka Wukong. Thompson got the takedown early but it was Wukong who looked for the submissions. Thompson did a good job defending against the submissions but Wukong was in a awkward spot to begin with. Thompson landed some effective ground and pound but was didn't notice that Wukong was setting up another submission in the process. Wukong was able to get Thompson in a tight guillotine and force the tap early in the first round. Great stuff from Wukong as he remains undefeated and improves to 5-0. Result: Tanaka Wukong def Floyd Thompson via Submission (Guillotine) at 1:16 of round 1 2nd Main Card Fight Vitor Gracie VS Karl Hungus Our second main card fight was a barn burner as two top welterweights faced off. Hungus went out and pulled guard almost right away and looked for a triangle but was unsuccessful. Hungus was really working from the bottom and attempted two more submissions. Gracie looked for a guillotine from the top but Hungus defended nicely. Hungus took the back and sunk in the hooks as he looked to pound out Gracie. Gracie rolled out of it as both fighters kept looking for submissions until the round came to a close. The bell for the second round rang and Hungus immediately took Gracie down. There were a few submission exchanges and Hungus took the back again. Gracie rolled into top position but Hungus was working actively to get the submission so it didn't necessarily change the momentum of the fight. The third round began and Hungus scored with another takedown. Gracie tried to pull off some submissions but was in an awkward position so he couldn't complete any of them. Gracie reversed Hungus and landed some nice ground and pound as well as five more submission attempts before the fight was over. Both fighters showed some outstanding grappling and each earned a fight of the night bonus. Result: Karl Hungus def Vitor Gracie via Unanimous Decision (30:28, 30:27, 29:28) Co-Main Event Adam Vymiatajec VS James Hetfield Our co-main event was in the heavyweight division as Adam Vymiatajec squared off against James Hetfield. Vymiatajec clinched up early but Hetfield blocked most of the strikes that came his way. Hetfield was able to escape the clinch but Vymiatajec was outpointing him on the feet. Vymiatajec landed a solid head kick that cut open Hetfield and Vymiatajec followed it up with another head kick which dropped Hetfield to the mat. Hetfield seemed to recover but It was all Vymiatajec in the closing seconds of the first round. Both fighters took the center of the cage as Hetfield landed a clean shot early. Hetfield was really throwing some sloppy strikes but also managed to get away from a good portion of strikes that Vymiatajec threw. Vymiatajec really wanted to clinch but Hetfield kept his distance nicely. The third round began and Vymiatajec was able to take the fight into the clinch for a brief moment. Hetfield was able to escape and land a clean body shot. Vymiatajec clinched with Hetfield again and landed a nice right hand. The fighters break from the clinch once again and they both traded strikes. Vymiatajec looked to take the fight back into the clinch but Hetfield countered with a powerful left hand and then a right which sent Vymiatajec flying to the canvas. The referee immediately jumped in to stop the fight. Great comeback by James Hetfield! Result: James Hetfield def Adam Vymiatajec via TKO (Strikes) at 4:32 of round 3 Main Event Jupiter Jones VS Birigiz Ignatiev Its time for our main event as rising bantamweight Jupiter Jones looked to get into the win column against experienced Birigiz Ignatiev. Ignatiev landed a head kick early but Jones kept moving forward pumping the jab but missing every time. Jones tried to throw a overhand right but it landed on Ignatiev’s shoulder and he moved away. Ignatiev looked to go high with kicks but none landed clean. Ignatiev was rocked as Jones threw a left hook. Ignatiev looked out on his feet and Jones landed a crippling hook and shut the lights out for Ignatiev as he falls backwards. Jones took home the KO of the night and was successful in his Evil Evolution debut. Result: Jupiter Jones def Birigiz Ignatiev via KO (Punch) at 1:53 of round 1 Amazing night of fights with only one of them going to a decision. Congrats to all of the winners and thank you to all of the fighters on the card. Be sure to watch our next fight card “Pride and Honour” this friday. I’m Kelly Floran see you guys next time. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1394639249n68oIRK.gifhttp://oi61.tinypic.com/317fnly.jpg
  19. An Eye For An Eye Review: We had a great fight card tonight and every fight was exciting. Here they are: 1st Preliminary Fight: Tyler Milner VS Erik Gordon Our first fight of the night began as Miller clinched up and shot in for a takedown but quickly stood up. Miller pinned Gordon up against the cage and after a few attempts was able to get him back down. Miller attempted a kimura and then a arm triangle but Gordon displayed some good submission defense. Then Miller let Gordon back up again and then immediately shot in for another takedown. Miller was content to lay on Gordon and control him until the referee stood them both up. Miller pinned Gordon up against the cage once again smothering him and allowed no strikes to get through. Both fighters got separated and Miller closed the distance and landed another beautiful takedown, this time landing in side control. Miller looked for another kimura but Gordon was able to survive till the end of the round. Both fighters took the center for the second round and Miller tried to take the fight to the ground again but was stuffed. After a couple more failed takedowns Gordon cut Miller after throwing a clean hook. Gordon hit Miller with another hook and saw that he was rocked and attacked forcing the ref to step in. Amazing comeback from Erik Gordon. Result: Erik Gordon def Tyler Milner via TKO (Punches) at 1:36 of round 2 2nd Preliminary Fight: Emilio Largo VS Marvin Jackson Our second fight of the night was another great on. The bell rang and both fighters looked to trade early. Jackson changed levels nicely as he scored with a nice takedown. Largo used wrist control to stop Jackson from landing any offense early but Jackson was content to just lay and pray. Largo bucked Jackson late in the round and was able to reverse the position. Without even getting a second to lay there, Jackson landed a sweep of his own and postured up in the mount landing some effective ground and pound. Jackson took a breather and the ref stepped in to stand them up. The round ended and both fighters went back to their corners to talk to their coaches. The fighters both went out in the second round looking to clinch up as Largo cut open Jackson with a hard knee to the head. Jackson absorbed some more knees to the body and head which looked like it drained Jackson of most of his energy. A knee to the body made Jackson wince and he looked to be in trouble. Largo unloaded with some more devastating knees and one went upstairs that had Jackson wobbly. Jackson’s cut opened up even more and a huge knee to the head crumpled Jackson. After a few more unanswered strikes the fight was stopped and Jackson was clearly out of it. Another great comeback which looked a lot like the fight before. Result: Emilio Largo def Marvin Jackson via TKO (Knees & Punches) at 2:35 of round 2 3rd Preliminary Fight: Antonio Gracie VS Miguel Gonzales Our third fight was a quick one as Gracie got the clinch right away and landed a devastating supplex that seemed to stun Gonzales a bit. Gracie was able to get the back and get his arm under the chin as he sunk in the rear naked choke ending the fight. Great stuff from Gracie as he showed some great aggression and focus. Result: Antonio Gracie def Miguel Gonzales via Submission (Rear Naked Choke) at 0:38 of round 1 4th Preliminary Fight: Gio Avila VS Henry HuaHua Our next fight started quickly as HuaHua connected with a few hooks that caught Avila’s attention. Avila tried to take the fight to the ground but wasn't really effective HuaHua started to pepper the legs of Avila and you could tell that it slowed him down significantly. HuaHua changed his game plan and went upstairs with a huge head kick that dropped Avila to the mat. HuaHua smelled blood and immediately pounced with some accurate strikes that caused the ref to step in. Avila must have thought that that kick was going to go low and dropped his hands. HuaHua showed some great striking offense and his kicks were on point from the moment the fight started. Avila drops to 3-1 suffering his first loss of his professional career. Result: Henry HuaHua def Gio Avila via TKO (Strikes) at 1:58 of round 1 5th Preliminary Fight: Darnell Rawlins VS Tyson Tyco Our featured fight on the preliminary card didn't disappoint as Rawlins landed a takedown early but was eventually reversed by Tyco. Rawlins looked for some submissions but Tyco seemed to be one step ahead of him. Tyco looked to throw some ground and pound but Rawlins was able to transition to the butterfly guard and sweep Tyco. Tyco looked for a triangle but recognized that it wasn't there and transitioned to a beautiful armbar that forced Rawlins to tap. Great stuff from both fighters but Tyco really displayed some smart offense. Result: Tyson Tyco def Darnell Rawlins via Submission (Armbar) at 2:43 of round 1 1st Main Card Fight: Derrick Yeung VS Tucker Jamesville We kicked off the main card with another exciting battle. Yeung went out and landed some nice strikes but was caught moving backwards and taken down by Jamesvile. Yeung was able to escape but Jamesville closed the distance again and clinched up with Yeung. Jamesville breaks the clinch and then moves in again blocking strikes from Yeung. Jamesville took Yeung down and immediately let him back up which may not have been the best idea. A hook to the body hurt Jamesville and he immediately tried to change levels in a desperation takedown but was ineffective. Jamesville was out on his feet as Yeung landed a uppercut that dropped Jamesville to the mat and the fight was called after Jamesville wasn't intelligently defending himself. Jamesville suffered his first loss as he goes 4-1. Yeung improved to 2-1 and showed some improvement in his striking. Result: Derrick Yeung def Tucker Jamesville vis TKO (Strikes) at 2:33 of round 1 2nd Main Card Fight: Rodrigo Silva VS Warren Troy Two undefeated’s records were on the line as Rodrigo Silva and Warren Troy squared off. Sliva managed to get the takedown early and controlled Troy on the ground. Both fighters weren’t really working and the referee stood them up. Troy scored with a takedown of his own but Silva got the butterfly guard and swept Troy. Silva, in half guard, isolated Troy’s arm and locked on a painful kimura that caused him to tap almost immediately. Rodrigo Silva keeps his perfect record and Troy goes home with his first loss of his professional career. Result: Rodrigo Silva def Warren Troy via Submission (Kimura) at 1:59 of round 1 3rd Main Card Fight: Adrian McMullen VS Wrestlers Rape Our third fight was amazing as Adrian McMullen faced Wrestlers Rape. Wrestlers Rape went for a takedown to start the round and landed in half guard. McMullen was very active attempting ten submissions from his back, but it was Wrestlers Rape who landed some effective ground and pound that secured him the round. Wreslers Rape immediately took McMullen down in the second round and defended yet another submission from McMullen. Wrestlers Rape went for his own submission but McMullen saw it coming and looked for a triangle. McMullen out of nowhere bucked Wrestlers Rape and managed to take his back. McMullen attempted submissions and also tried to cause some damage with some strikes but Wrestlers Rape was actively working to get out which made it hard for McMullen. Wrestlers Rape defended another couple of submissions but Adrian McMullen ended the round with the hooks in and on Wrestlers Rape’s back. At the start of the third round Wrestlers Rape shot in for another takedown and decided to stall on the ground. The referee stood both fighters up and Wrestlers Rape took McMullen right back down. Wrestlers Rape seemed to be in another world as McMullen was able to secure a triangle that wasn't defended in time and Wrestlers Rape had to tap. What a fight! Both fighters took home the fight of the night bonus as they both showed their outstanding ground games. Result: Adrian McMullen def Wrestlers Rape via Submission (Triangle) at 2:57 of round 3 Co-Main Event: Steely Dan VS Tanaka Wukong Our co-main event was a great fight as both fighters displayed some great ground skill. Dan scored with a takedown early in the round but it was Wukong who was working for submissions off of his back. Wukong managed to reverse the position but Dan attempts a submission of his own that doesn't come to fruition. Wukong had Dan pressed against the cage and attempted a guillotine that was defended nicely. There were multiple submission attempts by both fighters but their defenses held up as Wukong ended the round on top. Dan landed another takedown at the beginning of round two and briefly looked for an arm triangle. Wukong was looking for submissions from the bottom and managed to lock up a tight armbar that Dan fails to defend. Both fighters showed some insane submission attempts and there was a total of 23 attempts throughout the fight. Wukong also took home the submission of the night which he rightfully deserved. Result: Tanaka Wukong def Steely Dan vis Submission (Armbar) at 1:33 of round 2 Main Event: Yuya Inoue VS Kasim Akande Its time for our main event and boy was it a barn burner. Both fighters took the center of the octagon and Inoue seemed to be looking for a takedown. Akande shot in for a takedown but was stuffed which led to Inoue to pull guard. Inoue swept Akande and looked to control him and not get submitted. Neither fighter was doing anything so the referee stood them up. Inoue shot in for another takedown and was successful landing in Akande’s guard. The round came to a close with Akande managing to sweep Inoue and land some nice ground and pound shots. The second round began and Akande looked to take the fight to the mat once again but was unsuccessful in doing so. Inoue briefly moved into the clinch and then picked Akande up over his shoulder and threw him to the mat. Akande didn't stay on the bottom for long and was able to sweep into the mount position where he postured up and landed some huge strikes. Akande looked for a couple kimura attempts but Inoue recognized, defending it perfectly. Akande surprisingly let Inoue up and the round ended with both fighters in the clinch landing some knees to the body. In the third round Akande landed a takedown into half guard and attempted multiple submissions but couldn't quite finish. Inoue tried to lock on a kimura but the third round was all Akande as he attempted three more submissions to close out the round. Great back and forth battle! These two fighters are definitely some of the best in the division. Result: Kasim Akande def Yuya Inoue via Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27) Great night of fights as only one fight went to the judges scorecards. Everyone did a fantastic job and congrats to all of the winners. Be sure to stay tuned next week as we have three events for you fight fans. 21. An Eye For An Eye Preview- http://oi61.tinypic.com/317fnly.jpg I’m Kelly Floren and boy do we have an exciting card for you this weekend. Here’s what we got: 1st Preliminary Card Fight: Tyler Miller VS Erik Gordon Our first fight of the night is between Tyler Miller and Erik Gordon. Tyler Miller is coming off of a tough submission loss to Tyson Tyco who is also on the card tonight. Erik Gordon is an experienced fighter with 14 professional fights with his last one coming in a unanimous decision win. Miller has the advantage in the grappling game and Gordon has the superior striking so it should be interesting to see where this fight will go. It will be a striker vs grappler match so i’d be sure to pay attention to this fight. 2nd Preliminary Card Fight: Emilio Largo VS Marvin Jackson Our second fight of the night is between Emilio Largo who is making his professional debut against 1-0 Marvin Jackson. Largo has a significant advantage in the muay thai clinch but is out matched in the other areas. This fight will probably stay standing as both fighters are primarily strikers. It will be interesting to see how Largo will fair if this fight goes to the ground. 3rd Preliminary Card Fight: Miguel Gonzales VS Antonio Gracie Our third preliminary fight is between boxer Miguel Gonzales and submission specialist Antonio Gracie. Gonzales’s last fight ended is a vicious KO loss and he will surely be looking to avenge that with a win on saturday. Gracie’s last win ended in a KO showing everyone that he has knockout power as well as a submission game. This fight should be an exciting one. 4th Preliminary Card Fight: Henry HuaHua VS Gio Avila Our fourth fight is between well rounded Henry HuaHua and undefeated 3-0 Gio Avila. Avila has the advantage in the submission game and will probably look to take the fight down. HuaHua has the better wrestling so it will be interesting to see if he can stop the takedowns from Avila. HuaHua is coming off of a split decision win and all three of Avila’s wins have come from submission so if the fight goes to the ground, we know he can pull off a lightning quick finish. 5th Preliminary Card Fight: Tyson Tyco VS Darnell Rawlins Our headliner on the preliminary car is a fight between BJJ brown belt Tyson Tyco and muay thai striker Darnell Rawlins. This is another striker vs grappler match which always proves to be interesting since the fight can take place anywhere. Rawlins is coming off of a TKO loss to Abdoulaye earlier this month so he will be looking to bounce back with a win over Tyco. 1st Main Card Fight: Tucker Jamesville VS Derrick Yeung We kick off the main card with a fight between undefeated 4-0 Tucker Jamesville and 1-1 Derrick Yeung. Yeung has a significantly large advantage in striking and he will most likely look to keep things standing. Jamesville who is undefeated with all four of his wins coming by submission will look stay unbeaten with a win on saturday night. It should be a great fight, one that could end up in a finish and possibly a post fight bonus. 2nd Main Card Fight: Rodrigo Silva VS Warren Troy Our second main card bout is between two unbeatens as 3-0 Rodrigo Silva faces 2-0 Warren Troy. Troy is most likely going to keep the fight standing as Silva is a brown belt in jiu jitsu and he is only a white belt. Troy does have the superior wrestling game so we will see if Silva will be able to take him down or even pull guard. Should be an exciting fight wherever it takes place and we know that both of these fighters have what it takes to finish the fight. 3rd Main Card Fight: Wrestlers Rape VS Adrian McMullen Our third fight on the main card is between Wrestlers Rape and Adrian McMullen. McMullen is 2-0 with his last fight coming by way of submission. He’ll have the advantage in the submission game but will most likely have to get the finish off of his back as his opponent has the superior wrestling. McMullen also has the advantage in the striker department so he will probably be comfortable wherever the fight takes place. Wrestlers rape is coming off of his first ever loss so you can be sure that he will be hungry to get back into the win column. Co-Main Event: Steely Dan VS Tanaka Wukong Our co-main is between 4-1 wrestler Steely Dan and undefeated 3-0 submission ace, Tanaka Wukong. All of Wukong’s wins have been by submission in the first round so it isn't hard to guess what his game plan will be. Steely Dan is coming off of a submission win and also has a win by TKO on his record so we know that he can finish fights. It will be interesting to see if Dan will be able to take Wukong into the second round and test his cardio and it should be an exciting co-main event. Main Event: Kasim Akande VS Yuya Inoue Its time for our main event. A fight between two submission specialists, Kasim Akande and Yuya Inoue. Both fighters have a combined 29 wins by submission with Akande being a brown belt and Inoue being a black belt. Akande has the slight edge in the striking and Inoue has the better submission game so it will be interesting to see if Akande will want to go to the ground with him. Both fighters have wins by T(KO) so the fight could be finished on the feet as well. This has post fight bonus written all over it and I can’t wait to see how this fight will play out. I’m Kelly Floren, be sure to tune in to “An Eye For An Eye” this saturday and I will see you guys next time. Good luck to all of the fighters on the card.
