  1. http://www.universal-baseball.net/MFN.jpg Welcome to the official thread of Montreal Fight Nights! MFN opened its doors in December of 2012 and has been taking Montreal by storm ever since. We run multiple events per week and continue to have large weight classes to accommodate fighters of all levels at each class and pride ourselves in offering fair fights and competitive contracts. We have large "Of the Night" awards to reward fighters who showed excellence during a particular event. We are partnered with http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1363315336TTFC-logo_zps91b028d3.png http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1375732307fuRIOus.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1390197039images73725Z4F.jpg For supplements and clothing we strongly recommend our sponsors http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1369663655Fury%20Logo.jpghttp://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1296772437boutiquenew.jpg When you shop at those locations there are more sponsorship dollars that come back to your fighters! 2. As previously discussed the Olympics will now be held to try and coincide with the OTY awards. This year we have seen some top tier orgs merge with top orgs leaving a gap in the market for new orgs to rise in their place. After much discussion with various managers around the tycoon community we have decided to offer three ID orgs a chance to compete at the Olympics this year. All three ID orgs are on the verge of ditching their ID restrictions or already have and between them have the best prospects the game has to offer. This also gives these ID orgs a chance to run PPV's which will increase the competition and increase their funds dramatically. The orgs involved shall be Claymore Elite Combat Evolution Insanity Montreal Fight Night Synchronicity Troid Team Thomas Fight Club Ultimate Proving Grounds As before every org will host one division which will be selected at random to ensure that each org has a fair shot at getting one of the more desirable divisions. Each org will send one fighter from each weight class 135-265+. Orgs may outsource a fighter from another org if they do not have a fighter who meets the right weight/p4p restriction. All fighters entered must be in the top 1000 p4p and must have at least one fight inside the org they are fighting in (unless an outsourced fighter). The weight restrictions are as follows (PLEASE READ THIS) 135 = 135 pounds or above. 145 = 145 pounds or above. 155 = 155 pounds or above. 170 = 170 pounds or above. 185 = 185 pounds or above. 205 = 205 pounds or above. 265 = 230 pounds or above. 265+ = 250 pounds or above. No fighter under these weight limits will be allowed to compete under any circumstances. Fighters may go on weight gain or weight loss in order to make weight, however the weight must be made prior to the first fight taking place, if weight is not made then the fighter shall be disqualified and the opponent will go through to the next round. The points system is as follows Gold = 4 Silver = 3 Bronze = 2 4th = 1 5-8th = 0 The prize fund is as follows 1st = 500K 2nd = 350k 3rd = 150k 4-8 = 0 The host org is responsible to pay the fighters this prize money. The contracts for the tournament are 15k-15k. We are shooting for a start date on either the 16th or 23rd of November. Orgs should try to get there team lists in by the end of October.
  3. Montreal Fight Nights started out holding events in Montreal and eventually started to host in other cities. This was key to the org's growth as some fighters will only fight in their base city and MFN needed to reach out to better fighters to remain competitive. Over time, MFN has evolved into only hosting events in London, Los Angeles, and once in a while Tokyo. The reason behind that is that those are the 3 biggest arenas, and even though MFN did a World Tour last year, it wasn't until we started exclusively using Wombley, the Coliseum, and the Tokyo Bowl on a regular basis that MFN reached the level of success that it currently sits at. With all that being said, and because MFN no longer hosts events in Montreal, I was wondering what the community thought about MFN dropping the word "Montreal" from its org name. History also should be considered, as I believe its important to remember where you came from... Share your thoughts, vote in the poll, and maybe offer up a new name (if you feel its warranted). I reserve the right to either keep the name the same or change it to anything... but definitely would like some input from the community. Thanks
  4. Who do you guys think are the most underrated fighters in MMA Tycoon history? I for one think that Tor Nansen and YB Sol are kind of forgotten greats.
  5. Chapter 1 - The Meeting Uncle Lar sat as his large oak desk as his fantastic looking secretary entered his office. "Lar, your guests are here to see you", she stated. "Send them in... I am ready to get this done", Lar said. At that moment both Bjorn and the relatively unknown Kidlat Kumao walked into Uncle Lar's office. "Greetings gentlemen", Lar said. After a brief greeting and handshake Bjorn shouted, "Uncle Lar... it's so good to see you. I have so much to tell you! All of my time and effort into NYFN has been noted by everyone. Did you see the awards we got?". "Yes Bjorn," Lar complimented, "you have done a great job. I am proud of you and your accolades." "Thanks so much. Did you see...." Bjorn started before Lar cut him off... "Bjorn, we have business to transact here, my friend. We can catch up after the meeting." Lar continued, "Kidlat, nice to meet you. I swear I've seen you before. In the forum you use another name, right?" Lar asked. "Shh... nobody needs to know about that," Kidlat stated. "I don't want to get caught," he continued. "Caught with what?" Lar asked puzzled. "Are you a mult?" "No," Kidlat stated. "Because if you are a multi, I will not do business with you," Lar commanded. "I hate cheaters." "I... uhhh.... can we just get this deal done?" Kidlat asked. "What's going on here?" Bjorn asked. "Let me tell you about my..." "Bjorn.... let's focus on business," Lar interrupted him again with. "Now then," Lar continued, "I have searched high and low...deep and wide.... and Kidlat is the only person I have found willing to hold NYFN while you take care of your family Bjorn. Are you sure you want to give up a thriving org like NYFN?" Lar asked Bjorn. "Yes. My family needs me and I need to step back. I also want to open a gym for my fighters. Let me tell you about the big plans I have ...." Bjorn started before Lar interrupted him a third time, "OK Bjorn... it's confirmed then," Lar said. "Bjorn will transfer NYFN to Kidlat and open the gym for his fighters," Lar started, "and Kidlat, you will hold NYFN until after the last event when we can merge the final group of fighters. In return you will receive no less than 350k tycoon cash." "Yes," Kidlat agreed, "and I know just which manager to transfer all the cash to." "Are you sure you're not a multi?" Lar asked Kidlat. "I hope not," Kidlat pleaded. "OK... I have no proof or anyone else to help us complete this transaction, so I guess we'll trust you," Lar stated. "Please hire my man Dave F to help us perform the releasing of fighters from NYFN. He'll release guys while I send them contracts to join MFN. Hopefully most will agree. I will pay them more cash to agree," Lar continued as he pounded his oak desk with his fist. "And I will help send messages to them to let them know about the merge and encourage them to join MFN," Bjorn stated. "Then I will tell them about..." "Bjorn, that would be great," Lar interrupted Bjorn again. "Kidlat, there will likely be some cash left over because Bjorn insisted on setting up 5 or so strong events for you. We expect there to be somewhere between 1.2mil and 1.5mil left over. If you would be able to send Bjorn at least half of that cash, you guys will both come out ahead," Lar continued. "So I can get more than 350k?" Kidlat asked shockingly. "My main account will be..." "Kidlat, are you sure you're not someone's multi?" Lar interrupted him with. "I hate cheaters," Lar stated emphatically. "Umm... nevermind," Kidlat said sheepishly. "OK then," Lar commanded. "We have a deal. If we do this properly, each of us will win in this deal. MFN will get fighters, Bjorn will get cash, time with his family, and a brand new gym, and Kidlat will get cash." They all stood up shook hands and Kidlat and Bjorn left. After the deal was done, Lar put his feet up on his desk and stared out the window of his office admiring the attractive women in bikinis that were sunbathing 10 floors below him at the outdoor pool from the lot next to his office.
  6. Today the U.S. Attorney's Office reported : John Burke, a longtime associate of the Gambino organized crime family of La Cosa Nostra (the “Gambino family”), was sentenced today to life imprisonment without parole plus 10 years for the murder of a rival drug dealer in aid of racketeering, racketeering conspiracy, and other charges. Following a four-week trial before United States District Judge Sterling Johnson, Jr. in Brooklyn federal court, Burke was convicted of all charges in the superseding indictment. As established at trial, Burke was a trusted Gambino family enforcer and drug dealer for nearly three decades. As part of the racketeering conspiracy, Burke participated in numerous acts of violence, including fatal shootings and home-invasion robberies, as well as drug trafficking involving cocaine and marijuana. Burke was convicted of two murder predicate acts, including the 1991 murder of Bruce Gotterup, who was shot in the back of the head on the boardwalk in the Rockaways, and the 1996 murder of John Gebert, who was slain under a pool table in a Woodhaven bar. The jury also found Burke guilty of the murder of John Gebert in aid of racketeering, murdering John Gebert as part of a continuing criminal enterprise, and a firearms charge. A key witness for the prosecution, who had been entrenched in the Witness Protection Program for the last 18 years, is finally able to return to his family and resume his regular life. He even is ready to reclaim his given name. Senzo Tanaka hailing as a Japanese master shidoshi from Hiroshima who relocated during the Vietnam War, spent the majority of his life within the program, stated that he is "excited and relieved to finally be Larry again". Spending over half his life since he heard gunshots and saw the defendant running while visiting relatives in Queens, Larry has been quite busy establishing a name for himself running the top MMA organization in Montreal, MFN. "MFN will not change... just the printed signature on the bottom of the pay checks", Larry stated. He vowed to keep MFN "running on all cylinders". When asked if he was worried about retaliation from other members of the Gambino family, Larry proclaimed his "continued faith in our law enforcement" and said if he needed to, he could just re-enter the Witness Protection Program if things "got too crazy". "I'm tired of being a 72 year old man from Japan. Even though I lived as a shidoshi for the last 18 years, and I apologize to anyone who actually listened to what I taught them, I was never actually qualified to teach martial arts," Larry admitted. "The Tanaka Clan probably couldn't beat the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... sorry". At least he has his MMA organization to go back to.
  7. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1392925129MFN_82_poster.JPG on 3/15 at MFN 82 : Showdown Anabolinen Steroidi Jr. vs Jon Irenicus Montreal Fight Nights is proud to present a possible match of the year as these two combattants have no love lost between them. Mid accusations of "ducking the fight" these two have finally gotten a date set for their own personal war and the fans on Montreal will be the ones to watch it all unfold on March 15th. Both of these fighters are managed by top managers with plenty of experience here to make this event all that it can be. At first there was some resistance from Irenicus' manager to sign with Montreal Fight Nights, but after some negotiations terms were reached. Irenicus fought a match with MFN as a predecessor to the match with Steroidi Jr, and defeated Winston McCall with a viscous round 2 head kick. Steroidi Jr., however, has been with MFN a little while longer but defeated former 155 champion Michal Tarnowski by decision on 2/15 in his only fight thus far with the up and coming organization from Montreal. Putting all of that hype and tension aside, another interesting plot twist on this fantastic match is that both fighters will be riding the same flight to the fight and back. Hopefully these two warrirors will be able to wait until they get to the Expo in Montreal before this fight takes place. MFN officials are already aware of the situation and bad blood between these two fighters. Extra security will be dispatched for the flight to keep the peace.
