  3. As previously discussed the Olympics will now be held to try and coincide with the OTY awards. This year we have seen some top tier orgs merge with top orgs leaving a gap in the market for new orgs to rise in their place. After much discussion with various managers around the tycoon community we have decided to offer three ID orgs a chance to compete at the Olympics this year. All three ID orgs are on the verge of ditching their ID restrictions or already have and between them have the best prospects the game has to offer. This also gives these ID orgs a chance to run PPV's which will increase the competition and increase their funds dramatically. The orgs involved shall be Claymore Elite Combat Evolution Insanity Montreal Fight Night Synchronicity Troid Team Thomas Fight Club Ultimate Proving Grounds As before every org will host one division which will be selected at random to ensure that each org has a fair shot at getting one of the more desirable divisions. Each org will send one fighter from each weight class 135-265+. Orgs may outsource a fighter from another org if they do not have a fighter who meets the right weight/p4p restriction. All fighters entered must be in the top 1000 p4p and must have at least one fight inside the org they are fighting in (unless an outsourced fighter). The weight restrictions are as follows (PLEASE READ THIS) 135 = 135 pounds or above. 145 = 145 pounds or above. 155 = 155 pounds or above. 170 = 170 pounds or above. 185 = 185 pounds or above. 205 = 205 pounds or above. 265 = 230 pounds or above. 265+ = 250 pounds or above. No fighter under these weight limits will be allowed to compete under any circumstances. Fighters may go on weight gain or weight loss in order to make weight, however the weight must be made prior to the first fight taking place, if weight is not made then the fighter shall be disqualified and the opponent will go through to the next round. The points system is as follows Gold = 4 Silver = 3 Bronze = 2 4th = 1 5-8th = 0 The prize fund is as follows 1st = 500K 2nd = 350k 3rd = 150k 4-8 = 0 The host org is responsible to pay the fighters this prize money. The contracts for the tournament are 15k-15k. We are shooting for a start date on either the 16th or 23rd of November. Orgs should try to get there team lists in by the end of October.
  4. http://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1440094913Troid_Epicity.gif Troid EP Press Conference *With no prior warning of one happening, Troid EP is hosting a Press Conference on short notice apparently due to a ground breaking announcement. Grant Brophy makes his way out to the stage, greeting the press gathered, before taking up his position, with the Troid EP logo on a big LED board behind him. After a drink of water, he composes himself before addressing the media in attendance* http://mmatycoon.com/images/manager_avatars/1452400681BaA6ZLyCAAAcD5g.jpg GB: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to our press conference. Rest assured, the reason for this conference will become apparent soon, but I do want to have a brief word about the event on Friday. It was a monumental event, breaking almost every record we had in the org, and launching us to an all time high of #3 in the world. We are delighted to see our hard work pay off, and with the upcoming events we have, our confidence in remaining a top level org is sky high. Now, this org reopened just over 2 years ago now, and there was a buzz as a lot of people remembered the Troid from back in 2010 to 2012. The level of success we have achieved was unthought of back then, but thanks to both our own hard work, and the help of those around us, we have made it. One of the reasons for our success is something I feel doesn’t get enough credit. About half a year ago, we had our fighters, but we were hitting a stagnating point. Then we had the merger with Epicity Productions, and the org became Troid EP. Since then, we have hosted the ITFL tournament, The Winter Olympics, and successfully moved up to the 90k seater arenas as well as running 3 hour PPV’s successfully. I’d like to introduce the man that helped to make that a success, Ryan Epicity! http://mmatycoon.com/images/manager_avatars/1449900278psy%202.jpg RE: Thanks Grant, I hate to say generic stuff as you all well know but damn this has been a helluva ride and a crazier rise than I woulda dare dream up. I mean, to think at one point we would be sitting at #3 in the world, no matter how small the time is just... well let's just say it gets me hype. It gets me damn hype and hype is what it's all about focus. I'm here to preach to hype, I'm here to live the hype and god dammit... Sometimes I am the hype. GB: Okay, we can take a quick couple of questions before we move on. J: Grant, you started running the org with little to no experience, pretty much learning as you went along. What would you say was the biggest challenge for you as an org owner trying to build up the org as you learnt going along? GB: Well there are always a number of things you gotta learn. Efficient matchmaking, arena bookings, negotiating contracts, all that stuff is important. Honestly, from helping new org owners where I can now, I think I had it a bit easier to begin with, despite not necessarily having as much funds as they do now. We got a system sorted quickly which has led to people taking to the org well, and we have a bunch of fighters in the org who were there from 2013 which shows we are doing something right. I would say financial management was the biggest challenge, of knowing when to invest in arenas, when to save money for contracts and such. When you are trying to build up an org, cash is king, and luckily we are now in a situation where we can afford to invest in whatever we feel we need. J: And now a question for Ryan. You merged your org with Troid, and it is seen by many as the point in which the org started to sky rocket. From your perspective, what was the merger like, and how have you found the org to be since joining as the Co-Owner? RE: I'll try and keep this on track as I usually get sidetracked when talking about this but 2 years ago when I joined the game I quickly became transfixed on starting my org, I wanted this org to be different from the others. I wanted this org to stand out from the rest and be judged by a completely different scale. I came up with the idea of Epicity Productions which was essentially non-profit (actually I ran it at a great loss of cash to myself) with the idea I could supply newer fighters with higher pay checks than they would normally receive at their age I hoped this would become an attraction point to new managers and maybe even some older ones as well. The concept was flawed of course but EP was never about making money, it was about growth. It was about growth for the org and growth for the fighters in a faster pace than usual. In this sense Epicity was a success. In a much shorter time we were competing with Insanity over roster and ranking and I even managed to hire Hoarse who became the sensation of the forums for quite a bit. Sadly all good things must come to an end, me and Grant had been talking about and agreed on a merger down the road and the timing became just too ideal. I am husband and a father and in my current situation and future plans I didn't have the time or energy to run an org by myself so merging with Troid jumped from the ideal option to the perfect option. I wasn't able to transition all of the fighters I wanted but as such is the reality of mergers. Me and Grant were happy with our product going forward and as you can see today, it has become quite a fine roster. I must say most of the credit has to go to Grant who has done an amazing job with running the org while I have been focusing on my family and getting my life jumpstarted to the next level. Whether you like him or not personally, there's no doubting the guy knows how to run a successful org. Troid EP has become a solid top 5 org recently and we even placed 2nd in the Olympics. I couldn't be prouder. This is the org I want to be in moving forward and I'm looking forward to the day we hit No. 1 and people realize that the Hype is real... As Kurt Angle would say... It's damn real. GB: Alright, now it’s time for what we came here for. Luckily for us, this information never broke in public before now, and it means we can announce it properly, but first, I would like to introduce to the stage the owner of Insanity in Los Angeles - John Hetfield! http://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1440094913Troid_Epicity.gifhttp://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1440612731giflogo4best.gif *The LED board now changes, showing the Insanity logo alongside the Troid EP logo. John Hetfield walks out to address the gathered media, in typical fashion you would see when he would make an Insanity announcement* http://i1238.photobucket.com/albums/ff495/UntouchGFX/Hetfieldforumpost_zps1a201bea.png JH: Thank you Grant for the introduction. A lot of you may wonder what I am doing here.. But before I get to that, I just want to say it is great to be here. As most of you would know, Grant and I have had a great working relationship and have wished each other nothing but the best in achieving the top of MMA with our orgs. When Troid took on Epicity and became Troid EP, they certainly made a leap with the new talent and new possibilities with Ryan joining the force behind the org. I like to think Insanity kept up and still remained right on the same level as Troid EP. Both orgs have tremendous amount of talent, and great management teams behind that talent. And the reason I am here today, is to ensure a future for that talent. To work towards the #1 spot and be part of the best org around. Now you wonder, which org is that? Troid EP? Insanity? Well to be honest – neither. And that is because of a major announcement that is moments away.. J: Wow, this certainly is a surprise. We can only assume this means a deal between the two orgs then? GB: This is not a simple deal between the two orgs, no. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce that Troid EP and Insanity will not just be working together, they will merge together to create one org, one identity, which myself and my two partners hope will become one of the biggest orgs in the world. J: My word. I just have to ask John on his thoughts on this, and ask him about Insanity as an org and it’s history? JH: Insanity has been more than an org to me. It has been such a huge part of my life, I feel I spend more time working on creating what Insanity is today, then I spend with my loved ones. Haha, okay, maybe I was able to balance that out pretty damn well.. but all I am saying Insanity has become a part of me and it something I will forever hold dear to my heart. We had a great run, we become bigger than I expected, and faster than I expected as well. I can’t take credit for that alone though – There are so many talented fighters that been there from the start, that are still here today. Fighters that have represented Insanity beyond the call of duty. I cannot thank them, and their management teams enough for the loyalty and all they have done for Insanity. Insanity will have its own place in history, and I hope that everyone that has followed the org, and been a part of the org, can look back with a smile on their face and embrace the new changes with open arms. The ultimate destiny has not changed, we will continue working hard to take that #1 spot. We have only begun.. and the future is very bright for all of us. J: Thank you for that great response John. Now, with the news breaking that the orgs are merging, and with a slight name change to reflect when Epicity Productions merged with Troid, can we expect to be seeing a name change in reflect Insanity merging? GB: The whole Troid EP concept was just so simple, it was the easiest transition to make, and it made the most sense. Now, it’s hard to input a name like Insanity into it, as it would be pretty lazy to name an org “Troid Insanity EP”, and it makes us sound like we are releasing a random album. We spent a long time thinking of this, but when we thought of it, it was the most obvious answer in the world and it was so fitting for it. Ladies and Gentlemen, we will no longer be known as Epicity Productions, or as Troid, or as Insanity. With the 3 orgs coming together as one, we will honour that synergy as we announce a new brand for the org. John, Ryan, if you would be so kind as to show our guests what I am referring to. *John and Ryan both access the laptop on the stage, and after a 3, 2, 1 countdown both press a button which sees the Troid EP and Insanity logos fade from the LED board only to be replaced by…* http://oi64.tinypic.com/2yukmeb.jpg GB: I would like to thank you all for attending this press conference, but we have got shit loads of work to do now with the org and we wanna get everything squared away, so you can enjoy Ryan and John signing us off. RE: Always always... Embrace the hype. Live the hype. Feel the hype. LIVE THE HYPE! We are Trinity... And we are 3x the HYPE! JH: Thank you all for being present for this massive announcement. Trinity will be reaching the top, I am sure of that. But no matter where I go, where I am, I will make sure that things will remain insane. See you guys at the first Trinity event! *All three men walk off the stage amidst a huge outburst of questions from the media who are desperate to learn more about the org. The men don’t answer however, as the Trinity logo fades to replaced by the words “The Hype Is Real”*
  5. Since it seems all the wheels are in motion for the new season of the ITFL, I have decided to start a Pick Em league for everyone interested in taking part. Classic Pick Em rules apply - You choose who you think will win each fight and you earn a point for every correct pick. Most points by the end of the season wins a cash prize which will be provided by myself, plus any donations received for it. There are 10 rounds in the ITFL this year, with 21 fights in each round. It sounds like a lot, but it also means you can easily make a comeback later on with some smart picking if you fall behind early. All rounds will have the fights put into the OP of this thread, with links to the fighters so you can make your picks between them. Only time will tell if this is a success or worthwhile, but I am hopeful on it. PRIZE 200k donated by myself I may increase this prize also depending on how my finances are come the end of the season. CURRENT ROUND OF FIGHTS CURRENT STANDINGS 1. Shortfuse 73-32 2. Rac2 65-40 3. Wolf 63-42 4. Markyosullivan 60-45 5. GBK16 40-23 6. Bjorn 25-17 7. Gwad 24-18

Ring Of Violence's "Most Violent Fighter" Tournament Winner Inaugural Ring Of Violence Heavyweight Champion http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/2015032204355020141111010848Belt.png Inaugural Havoc Fighting League Heavyweight Champion http://mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20150509181948havoc%20belt.jpg Believe to have been killed by a boar in the foreign lands of Westeros, Robert actually used this as his chance to escape from Westeros, with the help of Lord Varys, and settled in a city called "London". While there, he met up with MMA Manager Grant Brophy, who noticed Robert's size and thought "Fuck it" and signed him up to his roster. From there, they got pissed, and Robert got rejected from every brothel he could find as he could not fit threw the doorframe. He started training in MMA, in preparation for the forthcoming "Most Violent Fighter" tournament being run by Storman Norman at Ring Of Violence. Robert made quick work of his first two opponents, defeating both Brock Lesnar and David Plouman inside the first round. He would face the hardest fight in the finals however, coming up against Granite Chinned James Kennedy, who had won via (T)KO in the second round of both of his fights. With the odds against Baratheon, he came up with a plan to neutralise Kennedy by using his wresting to gain a dominant position and prevent Kennedy from landing the power punches. It worked a treat, as Baratheon went the full 50 mins in this fight without any worries to earn the Unanimous Decision win. From there, he moved to the main roster, defeating the likes of Ismail Taraki, Alex Beling and Sega Genesis to really put his name on the rankings. From here, he got into a verbal contest with two other fighters, namely Villak Martinson and Silas Monk. Both fighters wanted to face Robert, but hasn't earned the rank to do so and constantly complained in order to try to force a fight. Despite their bitching, Robert remained strong in his stance, and while Martinson went on to be sacked by his management, Monk would later lose to who would be Robert's next opponent. In Robert's last fight in Ring of Violence, he would be facing Sven Hansen. According to Robert's critics, he was facing a can as Hansen had a weak chin. Despite this, Robert played the fight tactically, avoiding the clinch in order to avoid his having Hansen pull guard. He picked Hansen off from range, and earned the Unanimous Decision win. Following this, he decided to spend a bit of time in the FA Market to see what his options were. Despite a huge amount of interest from a variety of orgs, he signed to Havoc Fighting League, and received a title shot on his debut, such was his reputation coming in. He would face off against Tamati Ngata, a fighter who was dominating the Heavyweight division, but Robert dispatched of him with ease. Gassing his opponent with his strikes from range, Baratheon then moved into the clinch and peppered his Ngata with strikes, finishing him with only 9 seconds left in the round to be declared the first Heavyweight Champion of Havoc Fighting League. He faces Tarmo Rautakallio next, who defeated Conor Brazier in a title eliminator to earn his shot. The fight will be taking place at Causing Havoc 21, in front of an expected Sold Out crowd. Robert has previously wanted to stay quiet, but now that he has truly arrived, he is looking to make a name for himself, and let people know that The Usurper has arrived, and on the 11th July, he will be there to cause havoc....
  7. Troid 109 Preview: O'Connor vs Volkov http://i.imgur.com/fEUPiXR.png When the popular "Lucky" Liam O'Connor (15-6) stepped off The Island to join up with Mark O'Sullivan's Team Finland to attempt to have a successful career, post The Island many were predicted his stay in professional MMA to be a short one, yet he has continually proved the critics wrong every step of the way in his illustrious MMA career. Liam O'Connor went off the radar for over 6 months but eventually joined up with BEEF for their SlaughterSeason tournament which was made especially for Island fighters, with one round of fights the tournament was cancelled and O'Connor was left once more as a free agent. It didn't take long for him to be signed up again as he was signed up by world renowned organisation Umbrella Corporation, Igor Byhenikov's then business and he had another fight one month later. Unfortunately, again Liam managed only one fight, this time a loss albeit against his first opponent who never appeared on The Island. It wasn't until Grant Brophy decided to take a gamble and sign the ex-Islander for Troid (now Troid EP) that he really shined and what a gamble it was, with Liam's current record in Troid being a very respectable 5-1 and him being on the back of a 4 fight winning streak which has lead him to where he is now... a fight for the Troid Middleweight title. Ironically former Umbrella owner Igor Byhenikov, the man who first saw Liam's potential off The Island would eventually have one of his own elite fighters take on the famous Irishman. Standing across the cage from him on Saturday night will be Ilya Mstislav Volkov (12-3) one of the most feared Russian MMA fighters in the world at this time. Oddly enough Ilya is another former Umbrella Corporation fighter and is no stranger to big fights having fought in numerous title fights during his time with Epicity Productions. He was the reigning Middleweight champion when the Epicity Production and Troid merger took place and got an immediate title shot at the then Troid title holder Joe Smith (13-3), it was a tough battle between the two champions but it was Ilya that emerged victorious as the new Troid EP Middleweight champion. In addition to fighting for both Umbrella and Epicity, Ilya also had a spell with Insanity which is another one of the current big orgs at this time. He's currently on a 6 fight win streak, with 5 of those coming via KO/TKO. Ilya will be confident coming into this fight having won 6 fights in a row but Liam O'Connor is no stranger to over coming the odds having already fought in one fight during 2015 where he was a heavy underdog against Moses Diggs son "Unchained" Django Diggs (9-1). Despite many throughout the world feeling he had no chance at all, he proved everyone wrong and left Django Diggs screaming for him to let go of his armbar, the technique Liam has used to help him win 5 of his 12 professional MMA submission wins. The Liam O'Connor tactic as it's now been called has worked time and time again through Liam's career. If he gets a hold of you in the clinch, you better hope to God he doesn't pull guard and take you with him because if he does, he's going to apply a lock to one of your limbs and force you to tap quicker than you can say "OH SHIT". Ilya knows exactly what not to do, he wants to keep the fight on the outside, avoid Liam's clinch game and utilise his own gameplan. Ilya has the power to get a KO and we know Liam has been KO'd before in the past. Interestingly, Ilya's biggest weakness (at least at looking at his record) is against submission guys with 2 of his 3 losses coming via submission. This mouth watering match up has the potential to be an all-time classic. This is the biggest test of Liam O'Connor's career and a win here could potentially cement himself as one of the all time greatest Irish MMA fighters if he hasn't done so already, winning the Troid title would surely be the biggest achievement of his MMA career to date. Ilya has all the pressure on him, will he be able to cope with it? Or will he buckle under the pressure? Find out on Saturday night!
  8. 6 teams will be fighting it out for glory In those 6 teams, there are 7 fighters who will also be fighting for personal glory. Sure, the main factor going in is who is the better fighter, but while we are here, we might as well give people a platform to gain a psychological advantage. Ladies and gentlemen, I bring to you... 9. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1421260404havoc%20logo.png Just wanted to give an update as there is a lot of happenings going on in the org. With all the chaos slowing down we want to update everyone on the org and whats has happened and what is in the pipeline Firstly, we have completed the merger of La Grande Promotions into Havoc. There are a number of new fighters in the divisions and we hope they will provide some fresh competition for everyone. This was a great addition with is also adding Dean La grande to the staff which will add to the great manager we have helping to make this the best place to be On the topic of mergers, we have another one happening as former Island org Executioner Fighting Championships will be merging into us also. They have a number of top fighters we hope to sign, and again, this will only provide more depth to our org to ensure we can provide the best competition possible at 260k. After a while negotiating with JJ Tycooner and losing we finally can get Executioner in on the action and bring all there great fighters to the batch we already have here. We will insure we have a great in depth look into the whole org and make sure no one gets forgotten and they stay where they are. Last, but most certainly not least, we have some extremely exciting news regarding Havoc's future. As you all know, EVOLUTION is one of the biggest orgs in the game, regularly being the #1 ranked org in the world. They have built up a connection with 210k ID org Troid EP, and we are excited to say that we are now also involved in that partnership. We will be provided support by both Evo and Troid EP in the future, and our fighters will be free to move between these orgs when they feel ready, with Troid EP and EVO both there to support our biggest fighters in their careers. This ensures our future as an org, as the majority of ID orgs fail when moving forward due to a lack of support. 10. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1437433082Reaper_Awake_5.gif T96: The Reaper Awakens London, H20 Arena (20,000) 25th July It’s finally here. Troid has been on the up and up for well over a year and a half now, now is the time that they make the push to PPV. To kick off the Troid PPV era, they are showcasing their best talent available. A title fight in the heavyweight division as well as the light heavyweight title being on the line make this an event not worth missing. Not only that, some of Troid’s most popular fighters are gracing the card with their presence in what should be a historic moment in Troid’s history. Let’s get to it then! "Cocky" Rocky McColgan vs. Lexington "Lex" Snape – 265lbs TITLE FIGHT Rocky makes his return to Troid to defend the belt he has successfully defended 4 times already. He faces the clinching speciality of Snape who has been a Troid favourite since T7 and is currently 14-5 in the org, almost reaching most fights ever in the org. As previously stated Rocky is making his return to Troid after an unsuccessful foray into top org EVO. However the two fights he participated in were against truly top tier fighters in #1p4p Leo Ferreira and Brick Tires. Neither fight did he embarrass himself as he battled on and on until he could take no more damage and truly showed that his time is coming soon. But alas, the deal he made with EVO was that he could return to fight at Troid at a time a suitable challenger has been found, that challenger has been found and Rocky is looking to break his 2 fight losing streak in dominant fashion. As a fighter he is almost unmatched in the amount of violence he can bring to a fight, he pushes forward and lands with brutal punches and kicks. His boxing technique is probably his strongest aspect but make no mistake, he can do everything an elite mixed martial artist should be able to do, even notching a submission win early in his career showing that anywhere the fight goes he is dangerous. Whilst his opponent may enjoy a 40lbs weight advantage, Rocky employs some of the heaviest hands at heavyweight, with only 1 fight in his long title fight history going the distance all others he has finished early. Facing him is Troid veteran and former HW champ, Lex Snape. Riding a two fight win streak over highly touted fighters and only losing 5 times in his Troid career, it’s no wonder that the Troid faithful have made him one of their favourites. Possessing possibly the best knees within MMA today, with many of his (T)KO’s caused by his knee strikes. His thrives in the clinch where he uses a vast array of strikes, but his Muay Thai skills are beyond doubting, with gnarly elbows and jaw shattering knees. What is most underappreciated about him is his ability to control the action in the clinch also, with top level fighters unable to avoid being controlled by the hulking Australian. Rarely in todays MMA do we find heavyweights that cut weight to make 265lbs successful against game opponents but Snape’s fighting style suits his size perfectly. Since losing his belt to the man McColgan took it off, Seamus Farrelly, Snape has been on a mission to do anything in his path to regain the belt. After beating 2 very tough and very game fighters who were high in up the HW ladder he finds himself against possibly his toughest fight to date. On paper this may look a mismatch, with the KO machine that is Rocky McColgan against a veteran that is highly popular yet doesn’t possess the finest of records. But when you look at it, Snape has a fighting chance, I’d wager there aren’t too many people with his level of skills in the clinch nor his ability to find gaps to land his knees and elbows. Many of McColgan’s own victories have come from his dirty boxing. When all is said and done, I still expect McColgan to have his hand raised in the end. He has proven that he can take a good punch in the past whilst not many can say they stood up to the power he brought to the table and Snape has been finished in 7 of his 9 losses. Prediction: McColgan via TKO Flagon Sackett vs. Remi "The Exiled" Highjack – 205lbs TITLE FIGHT The Co-main event pitches new champion Flagon Sackett against the youngster Remi Highjack. Sackett will be looking to defend his newly earned belt but he will be needing to bring his A game against the highly touted prospect. Sackett’s Troid debut was for the title and he whether Mustacho’s feared striking attack and put him to sleep in the 3rd round. But now as King of The Hill, Sackett brings his own brand of striking to the table with his extremely powerful striking but it is his ability to mix it up with punches and kicks that allows him to sneak in a punch or kick that the opponent cannot see coming that makes his KO rate at 80%. From the far famed Sackett fighting family, it’s no surprise that Flagon is as successful as he is, under great tutelage and with great training partners he is a force to be reckoned with, as they say ‘steel sharpens steel’. But now with the Troid PPV imminent which will undoubtedly cause more elite level fighters to the organisation, Sackett will have to be as sharp as ever to remain unscathed. With 3 of his losses via TKO, one must wonder if he is able to take a punch from an extremely hard hitter like Highjack, but looking closer 2 of those are from doctor stoppage due to cuts. He will have to be very defensively sound to avoid his face opening cuts up. On a 9 fight winning streak, with 8 of them being (T)KO’s, Highjack finds himself as one of the premier fighters of Troid. It was only in his last fight that he was unable to score a knockout on his opponent, but then again that was against Barry Allen who is known for his unflappable ability to take a punch who he still managed to severely hurt in the 3rd round. Highjack, like his opponent Sackett, is a striker. He thrives when he is on the attack landing punches and kicks, but due to his level headed approach to fighting he likes to bait his opponent into attacking before unleashing devastating counter strikes that leaves his opponent wincing. He has also shown a very powerful clinching game, with great Muay Thai skills he utilises powerful knees to the body and head. A hard fight to predict, but I believe if a finish were to happen Highjack will be the one scoring it. Not only is his power great but his chin is able to withstand serious firepower. However, when looking at the level of opponents fought Sackett has the edge in experience and also there is the fact he has beaten most of these other high level fighters. I see Sackett and Highjack engaging for 5 rounds of back and forth action but with Sackett evading the killer punches of Highjack and when the announcer reads the scorecards Sackett will still have his title. A few more years and Highjack will be right back up there with the best of them though. Prediction: Sackett via UD "The Thunderbolt" Pika Chu vs. Silent Bob – 185lbs We move onto a very intriguing matchup in the 185lbs division where Pika Chu makes his Troid return on short notice against the well rounded Silent Bob. As one of the most popular fighters to step into the Troid ring, Troid fans were saddened that he had decided to leave for sunny Los Angeles at Insanity. After going 2-2 in Insanity he finds himself back in Troid to help launch off their PPV debut. His popularity is a result of his fighting style, as cliché as it might sound for him it’s literally kill or be killed. He fights with a sense of aggression unmatched by most and as a result all of his wins were before round 3 could be reached, as a matter of fact none of his losses either. His boxing and power are his primary weapons with all of his wins via (T)KO, even when taking a battering he if he is able to land 1 strike it could spell disaster for his opponent. Silent Bob takes this fight 1 week after his Troid debut in which he impressively flattened Kurki with 1 solid punch. He has a very well rounded game as he likes to mix things up with a variety of punches and kicks with his grappling, showing to have good takedowns and top control. It’s only recently he has shown his submission prowess with a slick armbar, before he used ground and pound as opposed to submissions. A training partner of Saades, who recently beat Pika Chu with a highlight reel head-kick KO, Bob would be wise to employ a similar strategy to Saades and expose Chu’s weakness in defending kicks. As long as Chu is standing he poses a threat with his power, but I see Bob mixing it up with his kicks and grappling which will lead him to a convincing judges decision. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Bob pulls off a submission victory. Prediction: Bob via submission Grey "Thunder" Wolf vs. "Reverend" JR Adams – 185lbs Two solid veterans face each other in a contest to see who can still be relevant within Troid’s fast expanding MW division. Wolf has seemingly found a breath of fresh air in his career after moving to Troid. He was on a 3 fight losing streak when he signed but since he has posted two straight KO wins that has his title prospects very close at hand. Although a very one dimensional fighter, Wolf possesses great power in his hands and excellent boxing ability but other than that his skills are very limited. Adams is 3 years younger than Wolf at 30 and his time to make a considerable impact in the sport is running out. Losing his last two fights and his only 2 in Troid, it’s now or never for him. Being a well rounded wrestle/boxer he often uses his strikes to set up his takedowns which allows him to use his great grappling game. As well as being a BJJ black belt, Adams uses his elite wrestling skills to control and ground and pound his opponents which has led to numerous stoppage wins for him. Wolf has a chance with his power, but honestly I fell he is overmatched by Adams’ wrestling and ground game. Expect Adams to score his first win inside Troid. Prediction: Adams via submission Nari "Hell Hound " Vari vs. "The Emperor's Assassin" Niten Dōraku – 185lbs Former champion Vari faces rising contender Doraku in a fight that will have the MW fighters of Troid watching very closely. Vari is coming off of a disappointing loss where he lost his title to Mazzuca, but now is his chance to earn redemption and a way back to the title shot. A highly exciting striker who excels when his opponent is on the back foot and Vari chases them down with his punches. He is very much a jack-of-all-trades, master of none type fighter. However, his power is very often the difference in his fights as you can never count him or his fighting spirit out of a fight as many who were beating him on points can attest to. Since moving under his new manager, Doraku is 3-1 and since moving down to MW under new management he is 2-0. All of his wins under new manager Aleksei Nikulin have been via (T)KO even scoring a rare slam KO. His ground game as ever is his strongest suit and now being the bigger fighter at 185 he is able to out muscle many of his opponents. His ability to take punishment is as impressive as ever but it is his improvement in his striking which many say is allowing him to secure takedowns at a higher rate. This is very much the typical striker vs. grappler match-up, but the question is can the striker grapple? And can the grappler strike? I believe the winner will be Doraku whose chin should hold up against Vari and he will secure a takedown and work on his ground and pound to secure a victory. Prediction: Doraku via TKO UNDERCARD Shinyo "Gekido" Jintao vs. Julius "Smooth Cat" Henderson – 170lbs Both fighters are primarily strikers with good KO rates, with Henderson preferring to work from the clinch and Jintao the superior kickboxer. I believe that Jintao will come in with the superior game plan and score the UD over Henderson. Prediction: Jintao via UD Antonio Jose De Sucre vs. William "Caper" King – ITFL 265lbs Both are good boxers with KO power, King may have the advantage if it goes to the ground but I expect the lighter De Sucre to edge out King. For a more in depth write up on this card by Grant Brophy click here Prediction: De Sucre via UD Roger Baumgartner vs. Howard "The King Of All Media" Stern – 185lbs Both are BJJ black belts but the difference here lies in who has the better wrestling and who has the superior striking. In both cases Baumgartner has both and I expect him to pick up a comfortable victory. Prediction: Baumgartner via UD Alvin "The Phenom" Aguilar vs. Sergio Aguilar – 185lbs The battle of the Aguilar’s here, the similarity doesn’t end with their names as both’s speciality is the grappling with excellent wrestling and BJJ. Sergio has the better striking and submission prowess whilst Alvin likes to work his ground and pound, I believe Sergio will out work Alvin. Prediction: Sergio Aguilar via UD Tino "Grindstone" Kallio vs. Marvin Andrews – 170lbs Kallio is very well rounded and is able to finish a fight anywhere whilst Andrews is more one dimensional in his submission based attack. Kallio has never been finished and Andrews has a tendency to fall to KO power, Kallio should be able to overwhelm him. Prediction: Kallio via TKO That wraps up the card folks. A historic moment for Troid as it has its debut on PPV topped with some of the most exciting fighters in the sport! Make sure you don’t miss it this Saturday, 25th July. That’s all from me, Michael “Wolf” Brakeley
  11. ITFL Season 4 http://i.imgur.com/zfUAyxA.png The Teams Grant Brophy is sat in his office, looking out the window following a big event in Troid which launched them back into the top 10. Sure, celebrations were on his mind, but he knew the hard work was only just beginning. Soon to be held in Troid was the prestigious ITFL tournament. Shortfuse had run this tournament successfully, and now he was looking to Grant to take it over and continue it’s history of being a great tournament to be involved in. Grant had to talk to a lot of people to get this to work, devising a format everyone would compete with, and that was the first challenge that faced him. Now, however, it seemed everything was now falling into place. All the fighters are signed, all the events were booked, and now it was just a case of ensuring the captains made their fight picks quickly and efficiently following each event. Grant had another glance out the window before getting up to go to the first of Troid’s newly launched Post Fight Press Conferences. He got into his car, and had a think about the teams participating in this season. He smiled when he heard about the teams that were entering, as he knew that the calibre of managers and fighters would ensure the tournament was a success. A quick flashback to the meetings with each team reminded Grant of how each team was formed…… http://i.imgur.com/kO8Lfvf.png Shortfuse and Blunts are sat in Shortfuse’s apartment, both talking about the Tycoon world and about their fighters. They begin to reminisce about Team Conquer’s showing in Season 3 of the ITFL, remembering how The Antidote, Stu Pidasol, Jbomb and Johnny Sorrow joined Blunts on the team on their way to finishing second behind Team Davies. Shortfuse begins to think about the ITFL, and he wondered how it would fair now that it had been taken over by Grant Brophy at Troid. Brophy had recently made the announcement of the fourth season, and their topic changed to Team Conquer possibly entering it. Shortfuse: I am thinking we could grab some of our guys and get Antidote in here again. Would just need another guy to sort our team. Blunts: I dunno, I think just getting any team we can together would be pointless. I don’t wanna put out a mediocre team for the sake of entering. Shortfuse: Fair point there. I’ll put the feelers out and see if we can get some other guys to join us. Following that, Shortfuse would send out a few messages, and it would be a few days before he would get the responses he was waiting for. A quick trip to Los Angeles would follow, and to one place in particular: Winston’s. Blunts and Shortfuse took a seat at a table, and ordered 7 drinks, 2 for themselves and 5 for the people they expected. The first person to walk in was their old friend, The Antidote. Antidote would take a seat and take an immediate swig of his drink. Shortfuse: Hey Antidote. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen you. I’ll get straight to the point. We need some fighters for Team Conquer this season. Blunts doesn’t have any guys, and I have Durlag Trollkiller entering. You got any guys we can throw in? Antidote: Sure, I saw the requirements. I can enter Itse Perkele and Pernell Whitaker Jr if you want? Would mean we need one less guy. Shortfuse: Actually, I was hoping you would put two guys in. We’re just waiting on some more guys, and if it goes to plan, we could have our whole team sorted. No sooner had Shortfuse said that than four men all entered the room. All of them pulling up a seat, it took a small glance around the table before their faces were recognised by all the men. Ethan Downs, Louie DePalma, Gale Hawthorne and Rodrigo Costa all said their greetings, and immediately got down to the discussion of who to enter. All of them were happy to enter, and within a matter of minutes, Team Conquer had secured their team for the season. Downs would enter Jamal Jackson, Louie would enter Anakoni Kai, Gale would enter Bruce Wayne, and finally, Rodrigo Costa would enter Jay Gatsby. All men finished their drinks, shook hands, and with that, only Shortfuse, Blunts and Antidote were left at the table, all smiling with the result of the meeting, and happy enough that they all ordered another drink to celebrate. http://i.imgur.com/RhHJmLW.jpg Joe River was sat in his garden, still recovering from the months of health issues he suffered from, as he was listening to the radio. It had been a long and hard road for Joe, but while he wasn’t back to his full strength physically, the battle has made him much stronger mentally. He had been out of it for a while with all things MMA, and had recently been inviting his Dogs of War friends over to his house to get all the latest happenings, while also using it as a chance to catch up. He heard a knock on the door, and then heard his wife tell him he had a visitor. Opening up another beer for his guest, he took a long gulp of his own. The seat next to his was promptly taken, and his guest took a mouthful. Joe: Hey buddy, how have you been getting on? Bjorn: I’ve been really good Joe. Been having some run ins with a few managers, but nothing I can’t handle. How have you been? Joe: I’ve been pretty good. You should just ignore any managers who try starting shit with you, it’s not worth it. I’ve not really been around much so I dunno what has been going on in the Tycoon world. Bjorn: I know, but I just really hate bullies and I wouldn’t let them think they can continue their harassment of me. It’s good to have you back Joe, the rest of the alliance will be glad to see you at the meeting. Will we head off? Joe: Sure, just let me finish this part of the radio programme As Joe listens to the radio, he suddenly finds his show has been interrupted. Radio: Breaking news now as it has just been announced by Troid owner Grant Brophy that the fourth season of the hit tournament “The International Team Fighting League”, more commonly known as the ITFL, will begin in late July or Early August. Teams are advised to sign up quickly, and Mr Brophy has said further details will be provided over the next week. Joe gets an interested look on his face, and a smile slowly creeps onto it as well. Joe: Bjorn...I think I just had an idea Joe and Bjorn get a cab to the local bar, and they find most of the members of the Dogs of War already waiting for them. They all give a cheer as Joe walks in, and they sit down and order a cold beer each. Scooby: Great to see you back Joe, been waiting a while to see you at one of these meetings again. Joe: Thanks Scooby, it’s good to be back. I have to ask though, where are the rest of the guys? Frank: Some freak storm happened in Europe mate. None of the planes can get through, so their trip home from their lads holiday to Magaluf got cancelled mate. Joe: Damn, that sucks to hear, but listen, I wanna come back in style, and I have a great idea. You heard that the next season of the ITFL is starting right? Frank: Yeah I heard it mate. I asked Shortfuse about it cos I could have taken it over but Grant took it over mate. I’ve been waiting for him to announce when it would begin Joe mate. Joe: Well, there was a breaking news story before we came over, and he announced Season 4 was beginning in late July or early August. I can’t think of a better way to come back than to enter a tournament with you guys. Joe then goes on to list the rules of the tournament, and there is a general nod of agreement that they would enter a team. Frank: I can enter Jack Daniels into it mate. He is the 170lbs champ in Troid already so I think he would do really well for us mate. Bjorn: I can enter Fabian Hoi into it too. He’s had some top managers in the past and I manage to get him over a bunch of top managers when he was an FA. He would be a great entry for us! Jeremiah: Hey guys, I know I am pretty new around here, and it is great to meet you Joe, but I have a guy I would love to enter. I wanna show I am ready to represent us. I think with some help from you guys, that my fighter Joe Louis could do really well for us. Joe: It’s cool Jeremiah, once you are in with us, you are treated as an equal. We would love for Joe Louis to be on the team. I can enter Bernhard Adelhard into it. I count that as four guys, we got any more? The rest of the guys shake their heads and start saying they don’t have anyone. Joe: We need three more guys, anyone know people we can enter? Bjorn: I know a spot we can go to where a bunch of managers hang out. I’m sure we can find some guys there who will join. Joe and Bjorn hop aboard a jet, with their destination being the Big Apple, New York City. They enter the renowned Southside, and sit up the bar while observing some of the managers there. Bjorn feels a pat on his shoulder, and he turns to see JLP standing right in front of him. JLP: How are you doing Bjorn? Haven’t seen you for a while. Been busy I guess? Bjorn: Hey JLP! Yeah it’s been a while, but I have to fly to a lot of places for business you know. Actually, I am here on business right now. We are entering a team in the next season of the ITFL, and we need three more managers for our team. Do you have anyone you can enter? JLP: I can slip you Artie DeVanzo I suppose, just need to clear a couple of things with him first. Bjorn: That’s great, we just need two more now! Joe: Hey, that’s Topo Topologies over there! I’m gonna ask him. As Joe walks over and explains the situation, Topo begins to smile and nod along. Topo: Sure, I can enter Antoni Kristofer Hong. Be a cool experience for him. With the Dogs now having 6 of their 7 members, they began scouring the bar for their last member. They hear laughter coming from around the corner, and as they look around, they see Dino sitting in the corner with the a number of the Keriskov clan. Bjorn immediately strides over to the corner, stopping briefly to talk to Joe. Bjorn: I can get Dino on the team, we will have this tournament sorted. Joe: Uh Bjorn wait, don’t you think we should… Joe never got to finish his sentence, as Bjorn was already on his way over to the Scotsman, and the laughter from the corner died as they noticed Bjorn approaching. Bjorn: Hey Dino! Great to see the Kersikovs here with you! Dino: Well, they are my fighters… Bjorn: Oh yeah, of course. Anyway, I was coming over because I wanted to ask you about the ITFL. We are getting a team together, and we only need one more member. I think if you joined our team, we could win it with ease! Dino takes a moment to compose himself, before he replied. Dino: Bjorn, do you know what one of my favourite quotes is? No? Well I will tell you. You have heard of Billy Connolly right? Well known Scottish comedian? Yeah? Good. Anyone, this quote comes from him. “Fuck Off. It’s such a lovely pair of words, and it’s international. I don’t care where you are, if someone is fucking with your bags, at Lhasa Airport in Tibet, and he’s got a shaven head, and saffron clothes on, and you say “Hey! Fuck off!” He knows exactly what you mean. Exactly. He will Fuck Off, Off he will Fuck. Fuck Off doesn’t mean go away, Fuck Off means Fuck Off, and everybody feels what it means. Nobody can write it down (ironic when I include it in a written post I know). There is no English equivalent for Fuck Off, because it is English Fuck Off, ya know? English expressions don’t have English equivalents, because they are, ya know.” Now, having quote this to you Bjorn, can you guess what my next words are? Bjorn: Fuck off? Dino: Don’t talk to me like that ya wee prick. Now, fuck off. As Bjorn walks back to the bar, he sees another person talking to Joe and JLP. Joe: Hey Bjorn, we just found our seventh member for the team! Meet Whymar Von Mastodon! Whymar: Hey Bjorn. I wanna join the team, and I can put Wilder Wein on the team. Bjorn grins widely at this, and as he looks back at Dino and the Kersikovs, he hears them laughing when one makes another joke about the fuck off quote. Bjorn: Perfect, now we can dominate this tournament. The party of managers all make it back on the jet, and after returning to the pub, they find Frank King shaking his head as his fighter Jack Daniels is unconscious in the corner. Joe: What happened Frank? Frank: It’s his alcohol addiction mate. He came in here saying he should be constantly celebrating, being the champ and all that mate. He ordered drink after drink and I just couldn’t stop him mate. He’s gonna have to go to rehab for this Joe, he won’t be able to join the ITFL now mate! The rest of the team shake their heads, wondering if there were going to be any more hiccups along the way. The door to the bar opens, and the man walks up to the group. Uncle Lar: Been a while fellas, I only just made it back from Witness Protections! Joe: Lar! Great to see you buddy, how are you doing? Lar: Better now I don’t have to keep watching my back. Lar notices Frank trying to revive Jack in the corner Lar: What the hell happened to him? Joe: Alcohol happened. Not surprising really. His first birthday present was a bottle of absinthe. Now we need to find another guy for our ITFL team. Lar: ITFL? I heard the restrictions and wanted to talk to you about that actually. Mikaiah Rynn wants to enter on the team, said he wants the money for some venture or something. Joe: That would be perfect! I’ll get the team sign up sheet now and send it off. They all celebrated their team finally being finalised, and there has still been no sign of Jack Daniels since as he recovers in rehab. http://i.imgur.com/e5CBmm0.jpg James Listerman is occupied in his office in the middle of New York City. His different interests were taking their toll on his MMA management career, and he was contemplating hanging it up. A call came through from his secretary, who informed him his 12.30pm meeting was due in 10 minutes. Standing up and brushing himself off, he went into the meeting room, and sat down among his fellow Corporation members. They went through the usual razzmatazz of meetings, and finally arrived at the A.O.B portion of the agenda. Mark: So we’ve gotten promoted to Division 1. Since we are gonna stay there, we might as well capitalise and find some ways to show the other alliances we mean business. Listerman: Well, I dunno if I will be much good for that. Thinking of calling it quits ya know. Got a lot of stuff going on right now outside the Tycoon world. The discussion of potential ideas was disrupted momentarily by a brief argument between John Hetfield and Bob Vendarra over who had posted the hottest women in the “Beautiful Women” thread. A brief intermission was called, and they all went to the office kitchen to get a cup of coffee. Listerman however would head outside in order to take a phone call from his old friends at MMA Hype - Brett and Jared. After nearly an hour of catching up with the duo, Listerman hung up and went back inside. When he returned to the meeting room, he noticed the rest of The Corporation looking particularly sheepish. Listerman: Okay, I just got some good news from Brett and Jared over at MMA Hype. Mark: We have some good news as well, but you go first. Listerman: Well, the guys have saved up some cash over the years, and now they have decided to open an MMA Apparel store. For obvious reasons, they are calling it “MMA Hype Apparel” and they asked me to run it for them. Aaron: That’s awesome to hear man, be good to give you something to focus on. Listerman: So what’s your news? Mark: Well… At this moment, Mark directs him to the monitor on the wall. Listerman notes it is some kind of a press conference, and recognises Grant Brophy on the screen. Aaron then resumes the video. Grant: It’s been in the works for a while to get this finalised, and now I am proud to announce the arrival of the fourth season of the ITFL! The format has changed somewhat, and we already have 5 of the 6 teams entered, so only one more space remains, and we hope to have them entered within a week. The video ends there, and all eyes turn to Listerman. Listerman: I’ll get onto Grant about it. We got enough guys for a team? Bob: Well, since you were gone for a while, we had a look at our fighters, and we think we have a team that can compete well. We just need to talk to Ragnar about two of his fighters possibly entering. After nearly a week, Ragnar finally got into contact with the rest of the team. Apparently he spent the week pillaging villages in his native Denmark on a stag do, but hey, to each their own. Ragnar agreed to enter his two fighters, and the appropriate paperwork was filled out. As The Corporation chartered one of their jets to meet with Grant regarding entering, Listerman stopped before entering, and had one thought before boarding - “Stay Classy” http://i.imgur.com/v0ucUm8.jpg FinnFighters Somewhere in Finland, a place where really nobody knows but a select few, a group of men arrive at a barren location, where a single building is located. All men are hidden from view by their clothing, and as they enter, take a seat in a room while only removing their hoods. The men became as recognisable as their notoriety was well known throughout the MMA world. The first person to speak was also the first man who entered the room. Marky: Good to see you all again. It’s been a while, but I feel there has been a couple of recent issues that required some attention. John: Hope it’s important, it’s a bastard to travel all the way out here. Marky: Well firstly, it seems Castor has left the MMA scene for a while. Seems like he couldn’t go through on his quest to eradicate us, so a nice little point to start on. Next, there is an upcoming ITFL season. Now, we almost had a chance to defend our title in the World Domination tournament, but that got changed to a Gangs of New York season instead. It’s been too long since we really wrecked house on the other alliances, and I heard quite a few of them are entering. What do you guys think? Now, since the Finns are particularly secretive with their discussions, not much else is known about what was discussed, however, that is not the last we will see of them. In London, it is 4.30am, and Grant Brophy is asleep in his house. He hears a sudden banging, but such is how he reacts, he doesn’t like the thought of leaving his bed. When he hears a second bang however, he leaves his room and goes to the front door. To his surprise, he finds the lock had been broken, and the door was closed. Feeling a bit apprehensive, he slowly moves towards to his phone, when he notices an envelope left on his kitchen table. The letter simply says on the outside “To Mr. Brophy”. With a bad feeling in his stomach, he opens the envelope and reads the contents. After he is finished, he simply puts the letter down and moves back over to the phone. He calls a 24 hour locksmith who comes by and puts on a new lock. He updated the news page of the ITFL tournament announcing a new team entering in the tournament. As he returned to bed, all he could simply think was “Damn Finns”. http://i.imgur.com/TUhfC8I.png Scott Davies had just finished his weekly game of Rugby. His team scoring a last minute try to win the match, and he was feeling elated in the pub that night. A few beers turned into a few pitchers, and then those few pitchers turned into a few vodkas, and before long, he was necking down shots at a rapid rate. The night was a blur for him, but he distinctly remembers doing push ups with the other Rugby lads, singing classic songs the loudest he could, and finally, throwing up everywhere en route to the toilet. He woke up the next morning with the most splitting hangover imaginable. The remnants of a kebab lay on his kitchen table, and he staggered over to the sink for a glass of water. After sleeping off the worst of the hangover again, he woke up to find his phone buzzing with messages. Reading through them, he read a lot of messages regarding his Organisation, Ascension. However, he also had a bundle of messages from other managers he didn’t quite understand. These managers were apparently agreeing to join his team for a tournament, and told him which fighters would enter. He had to look through his Sent box to see he had messaged these managers asking if they would enter a team into the next season of the ITFL. He then had a look again at the managers who agreed to enter, and felt growing confidence in his drunken decision. The likes of Klatz Matz, AJ Nex, Aylib 2.0, Harry Bagofdonuts and Whymer Von Mastodon all agreeing to join his team. He then looked at his texts and saw he had already messages Grant Brophy to enter the team, which he had to squint to read: “Alright mate? Wanna enter a team into the ITFL. Sending on the managers in the next message. Hope all is good with you?” Thank god he had enabled autocorrect onto his phone, or did he? Maybe being drunk was the key to it. Anyway, he needed a last member, but he received a phone call as he was about to eat lunch. He couldn’t make out the number, so he just answered without looking? Scott: Yeah? Shortfuse: Hey Scott, had a message from Dino last night saying you asked him to join your team for the ITFL? Scott: I don’t remember at all to be honest mate, all I know is apparently I entered a team. Shortfuse: Yeah, he mentioned something about it being the clearest he had ever seen you message him. He had about 20 messages from ya. Anyway, he mentioned to me you had a spot on your team, and I have a guy I can enter. Scott: Ah sweet, which fighter? Shortfuse: Chris Severn. Thinking we could do alright in the tournament. Scott: Great, i’ll let Grant know the last fighter on the team. I’ll speak to ya soon Shortfuse: Alright take care As Scott was about to hang up, he could hear Shortfuse still on the phone “Dino said the money would be in my account by 5 right? Didn’t know he was this desperate to not be on Davies’.....Ah fuck” And with that, Shortfuse promptly hung up the phone. Scott didn’t care anyway, his entry for the tournament was already planned in his mind, a fighter who had recently parted ways with his recent management team, and Scott couldn’t wait for it all to begin. http://i.imgur.com/uXXftn1.png Funnily enough, this part of the story keeps us with Grant Brophy. Upon announcing the tournament was beginning, Brophy had an idea for a Vendetta team entering the tournament. This idea was shared by the other members of the alliance, as Eric McCormick contacted him shortly after to register his interest in a team being formed. The alliance was having a meeting on the same day as his announcement and it was a topic of discussion, as Grant laid out his plan for the team, and asked if there was an interest in the team. Severo Del Bosque, G Wad and Ryan Epicity all agreed to enter fighters. Mike Jursllla and Igor Byhenikov arrived fashionably late, and greeted the other members. Mike: Sorry about the lateness. We had a long session at the gym, and Igor wanted some advice on a gym and nutrition plan. Igor: If I am going to be the number one manager, I might as well also have a good physique. Grant: Alright guys. We were discussing a potential team to enter into the ITFL. We already have Flavius Odoacer, John Paul Wani, Lance Legstrong and Bosco Brown entering. My own fighter Pika Chu may also enter if his entry into the Mad Cash tournament ends early, but he isn’t a guaranteed fighter for us. Do either of you have any fighters to enter? Mike: Dorian Yates has a fight coming up in Ryan’s org, I can enter him if you want? Ryan: That’s like the 5th fighter from my org in this tournament. Damn it. Grant: And what about you Igor? Igor: Ruslan will crush all his opponents in this tournament. Count him in. Grant: Alright great, that’s our whole team sorted for it so. Pika Chu fights in the tournament in a weeks time so if he loses I can enter him, but if he wins, then we will need to find another guy. Fast forward now to the 20th July, 11pm GMT. Grant Brophy took his jet to New York, and is present in the Credit Card Centre enjoying the show held by Insanity. He had just witnessed another fight in the tournament, as Nolan Sackett defeated Pera Pulkkinen. He knew the winner of Pika Chu’s fight would face the winner, and he was waiting with eagerness. Pika Chu and Sam Hall made their way out to the cage and the fight was soon underway. Despite being heavily nervous, Grant saw Pika Chu finish Sam Hall in 2.22 of the first round, and after the happiness of the victory, Grant messages the rest of his team about the result, and telling them they needed a final team member. The next week, Grant is sat in his office, going over some preparations for Troid’s next event. Being heavily buried in his work, he barely noticed a knock on the door, and just called for the person to come in and greeted the men without lifting his head from his work. Grant: Hey, how can I help you? Dino: Not a very friendly way to be greeting someone who travelled all the way from New York to talk to ya. Grant: Ah shit Dino, didn’t realise it was you. What brings you here? Thought I sorted Jintao out with his next fight? Dino: Ya did, but it’s not why I’m here. Heard ye were looking for a man to enter the ITFL on yer team? Grant: Yeah, my guy won a fight so he can’t make the tournament. Why? You looking to enter it? Dino: Well, I want ta enter, but the issue is, i’ve been asked already by Bjorn and Scott, and neither of them are very appealing to me. I’ve seen the rest of the teams have their entrants already, and yer in need of a last man. Seems like it makes sense for my sanity. Grant: Wow, not really what I expected to be happening today when I woke up. I’ll have a word with G Wad, he is the guy captaining the team, but I doubt he will have any objections to it. Dino: Sure, just let me know which fighter ya need and i’ll sort him out to enter it. With that, Dino leaves to attend to some business he has up in Scotland, most likely regarding the recent revelation of a fighter using his name. Grant contacted G Wad immediately, explaining what had just happened and asking if he was against it. G Wad agreed it was the best solution possible, and the team was formed. The next day, following all of the teams entering, Grant Brophy would make the huge announcement of all the teams that were entering, and began organising all of the arenas for the tournament. With a number of big managers entering, Grant couldn’t help but feel this was going to be a guaranteed success. The limo arrived at the press conference, and Grant put the thoughts of the ITFL aside for a few hours to get to work.
  12. Preview: Diggs vs O'Connor http://i.imgur.com/hM4m5kk.png Many are saying that this is one of the most highly anticipated Middleweight bouts of 2015 and we're just two days away from seeing these bitter rivals go head to head inside the Troid cage. There's been a lot of smack talk between these two fighters and it's clear for everyone to see that they're not the best of friends. This fight is the classic setting in combat sports, the hot prospect in the division "Unchained" Django Diggs (6-0), going against a more experienced fighter, The Island veteran "Lucky" Liam O'Connor (13-6). Django Diggs, son of the MMA legend Moses Diggs, has been on fire since his first professional MMA bout. He's undefeated and has won by KO/TKO in 5 of his 6 wins. Many believe that he was born to fight and follow in his father's footsteps, if you watch him it's pretty clear to see he's a natural fighter. Liam O'Connor on the other hand only had his first professional MMA bout at the age of 25 while competing on Season One of The Island. He quickly established himself as one of the most dangerous Middleweights on that season and was dominating the Middleweight division with 8 wins in a row until he lost his title against The Castaway. Since losing that fight, Liam has lacked consistency and hasn't been able to maintain a winning streak. Django has the power to score a KO victory and could well come out with the intention to end the fight early by getting a quick KO. Most of his opponents hardly had a chance to get comfortable in the cage before Django bombarded them with strikes. One thing Django will have to look out for is the dangerous submission game of Liam O'Connor. Liam O'Connor has been a lot more conservative in his last two fights, picking up the win but not in the impressive style that we were used to seeing during his stay on The Island. His striking has looked very crisp although he wasn't able to KO his opponent or lock up one of his dangerous submissions. Without a doubt, he'll be looking to use his experience to his advantage and fight smart in this fight otherwise it could be over very quickly for the "Lucky" Irishman. http://i.imgur.com/ZkefKxL.png Both of these fighters have a career thread where you can read about how their career has progressed so far along with the smack talk which has went on between these two. 14. Seen a few threads like this, and thought it couldn't hurt to do it myself (among others, people like TheWolf's, Scoobyskyline's new thing and TheMould's CPA). Just started doing Previews and Reviews for a couple of people, but most weren't of my usual standard. Started writing stuff of the minimum standard I like so thought why not. As for the name, eh, why the hell not. Will be posting some of my more recent stuff and then any new stuff. Hope people like it, and if you are stuck for a writer for an event, PM me and I will help you out with one-off things since I already have on-going write up commitments.
