  3. I was just wondering, why aren't there fancy Knockouts, like spinning kicks, tornado kicks, etc? Also, it would be awesome if we had flying submissions like armbars and triangles.
  4. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGXNeB_NK5Q Little long but funny. Bobby Green combo was awesome
  5. Oh, hey there. Thanks for coming. Please have a seat right over there... I know this isn't in the right forum BUT this forum is where all the cool kids hang and I know this'll get the most traffic here. So I'm posting my request here As many of you know a few of us Tycooners have started a, what we consider to be the best, MMA News site on the world wide webs. We are trying to get our forum to take off, and that's where you lot come in. Just wondering if any of our Tycoon-mates can find it in your black little hearts to sign up for our forum and help us kick it in the ass? Please. Pretty please. Dirk has promised sexual favors for 10% of new user sign ups! Check it out HERE.
  6. Hey guys, just a question for the curiousity. Do you think the entrances should me emphasized a bit in MMA? I mean, the feeling in wrestling during the entrance is awesome and just gets you hyped. Doesn't have to be everyone, just like the co- and mainevent. I'd like a bit of pyro here and there.
  7. Hello. I don't think that this Idea will be liked by a lot of people, but still worth a try. What about custom MMA gloves from different orgs? You could overlay arms with fists and your gloves around it infront of the normal avatar. You should have different arm-colours, of course. Just a Idea. Or what about different tapes you need to buy for your fighter(magical white tape for everyone in the beginning, i guess) , better tape means less injuries from boxing.
  8. Here is the link: http://www.bowsermultimedia.com/mmanews.html The site is pretty new but growing. We covered an MMA event in Salina Kansas on June 28th, and will be covering one in Topeka, Kansas on the 26th of July and may start a partnership with a promoter to do live streaming in maybe 6 months. We have some fight video from the Salina event on there, there are some people in the way in part of it but it was the best I could do at the time. At the next event we have an overhead position secured and one camera from the side so I can edit and get the best views for the videos. If you are using Firefox the videos may not play, I have been informed of a few people with problems. Those using internet explorer or Chrome have not had any issues. There are a few interviews with some of the fighters as well. There are about 6 more interviews being edited right now. There is an event review pending as well as a story about the promoter. Comment if you like it or have any ideas or remarks. Would love the feedback and the traffic as well. Thank you to all that take a look.
  9. I'm looking for all fighters from 135-265 MMA only. I am looking for fight mainly in Rio but if you fighter outside the country i wont oblige to signing them and will provide travel for young fighters. There is no ID restriction so all fighters are welcome but only fair matchups are given so if you are looking to cherry pick fights this is not the place. Notes: a challenger for the 135 pound title is needed here is the opponant: http://mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=124896
  10. At what level is conditioning "good enough" to where you don't need many rest days?
  11. Anyone else watching the Cage Warriors fight tonight? Facebook prelims are live now. Main Card starts at 9pm. Leeroy Barnes is fighting in the Main Card in the fight before the Co-Main Event. Looking forward to this Lightweight tournament, Leeroy Barnes' fight and Bola vs Aaron Wilkinson
  12. The title says it all, is it worth it? What features does it have that we do not already have?

  16. I have been watching UFC past events that were before i started watching MMA and i have started to find a few fighters that i liked, so i wondered who is everyone's favorite 5 (or so) fighters hopefully in order...(Besides Anderson) and why. 1) Mr Wonderful Phil Davis- Awesome athlete and grappler which i am partial to, impressed by his dedication to get better especially in his striking, created a fighter after him 2) Johny Hendricks- Two Words... KNOCKOUT POWER 3) Ronda Rousey- I know i will get hate for this but it is what it is, Biggest competitor ever. She is also not just an excellent fighter but a great athlete and she showed it against Meisha in her last fight, its like shes an animal 4) Tim Kennedy- Never really seems frazzled, always in great shape and has great technique with a solid gameplan. 5) Roy Nelson- Great knockout power but even better grappler which is usually underestimated, looks like he cant do what he does. 6) Demetrious Johnson- Has elite skills in almost every facet of his game, if he existed on Tycoon he would be a 15/15/15 Blackbelt (Not because he has one but he has submitted multiple blackbelts) P4P #1 in my book. Honorable mention - Vitor Belfort (F'ing Crazy) Uriyah Faber (Fun to watch) Tyrone Woodley (KOs) Jimi Manuai and Jessica Pena (Will to win- yeah i said it)
  17. It came to my attention that as an org owner, if you would like to get a good hype boost for your restricted org, you may need unrestricted fighters. In order to be fair and not have a 22 Year Old restricted fighter having his belt snatched by a 35YO legend in tycoon. I believe someone also mentioned separating a KT belt vs MMA belt per division. I would like it if we could create multiple belts, therefore having one for restricted fighters and one for unrestricted fighters, Likewise.... a good example is my Burning Bush tournament and the fact that i want to allow the top two fighters to continue on to each season, it would be cool to allow them to carry a belt as well. Of course i know this could get risky because then orgs may become like the boxing world and have 12 belts per division with unifications and all of that nonsense, but i think that will be their own demise as this should effect their credibility detrimentally what do you guys think?
  18. just started a new org in sydney and looking for new fighters, we will be doing fair fights for all fighters, im hoping this org will be really successful.
  19. hey whats the best gyms for a reasonable cost
  20. Shogun MMA’s first event was full of excitement, quick, beautiful finishes! Here is what happened during the event; First Bout Kyle Gillean (2-0-0) vs. Bruce Lee (1-0-0) Bruce Lee went in for a quick takedown..it was a mistake for sure though. Kyle was able to get himself in position to work from the bottom and capitalized on Bruce’s mistake. This one ended with Bruce’s arm being extended with an armbar in the 1st round 0:28 seconds. Victor: Kyle Gillean Second Bout Jaun Barrantes (1-0-0) vs. Kung Lao (0-1-0) Jaun was persistently trying to get this one to the ground the whole fight, and Kung Lao defended takedown attempts throughout the whole first round. Kung was landing punches and kicks the whole time, luckily Jaun has a tough chin that held up during the fight. All it took was one takedown and one sub attempt to end this one. This ends in Jaun being submitted via Kimura in 57 seconds of the second round Victor: Jaun Barrantes Third Bout Carlos Verona (0-0-0) vs. Henry Cruz (3-1-0) Carlos made his debut in this first event for Shogun MMA and made his stamp on the 170 lb. weight class with a swift victory over Henry Cruz. Henry was looking to keep this fight standing, but Verona was having none of it. Verona scored the takedown early in the first round and submitted Cruz in 39 seconds with a slick looking Kimura. Victor: Carlos Verona Fourth Bout Magnus Barfot (0-0-0) vs. Boris Mattson (2-1-0) Another contender Magnus Barfot making his debut fight for Shogun MMA. Barfot didn’t disappoint his fans in this one, completely dominating the standup game. An early clinch from Barfot allowed him to work his dirty boxing and crisp elbows wearing down his opponent before unleashing the uppercut that put Mattson down for the count early in the first. Victory came by way of Knockout 1:57 of the first round. Victor: Magnus Barfot Fifth Bout Mike Nickoson (0-0-0) vs. Victor Gillean (1-0-0) Mike makes his debut for Shogun MMA today, while Victor…maybe a little over confident came in at a little less than 100% energy. It surely didn’t help his cause as Mike was able to keep the fight standing for a majority of the fight. Mike worked his standup and was able to take this one with a Unanimous Decision from the judges Victor: Mike Nickoson Sixth Bout Jun Lee (0-1-0) vs. Sherlock Holmes (0-0-0) Sherlock made his way to the octagon for his first pro fight. A great 1st round of action as Holmes was making the most of his Muay Thai clinch landing numerous knees to the head of Jun Lee, even cutting him. Unfortunately his was unable to solve the mystery of this one as Jun Lee secures a takedown and after multiple submission attempts he clasps down on the Americana choke. Sherlock showed no signs of giving up though as the ref had to end the fight without him tapping. Way of victory was Americana choke 3:54 of the first round. Will there be a rematch? Victor: Jun Lee Seventh Bout Tom Segura (1-0-0) vs. Jack Daniels (0-0-0) Jack Daniels made his debut in the pro fighting world today. These fighters were exchanging blows for first moments of the fight. Segura had enough of the standup game, and decided it was time to take it to the mat. It was a great decision as he quickly ended up in a dominant position and submitted Jack Daniels via Kimura submission. Victor: Tom Segura Eighth Bout Bubba Jones (2-0-0) vs Len Tendo (2-3-0) Tendo walked into this fight jamming to si tu estuvieras aqui, but both of these fighters seemed to agree to keep this one standing. An early cut due to a head kick hurt Bubba Jones, but he didn’t seem phased for too long. Bubba knocked Tendo down and told him to stand back up, then completely crushed him with an overhand right. Tendo’s eyes rolled back as this one was all over 52 seconds into round 1. Victor: Bubba Jones Co-Main Event John Kyler (1-0-0) vs. Shaun Anderson (1-0-0) Anderson took this one to the ground right off the bat, maybe it was his wrestling background that made him do it. Kyler made him pay for the takedown by working his submission game. Anderson avoided a triangle but gave up his neck and couldn’t get out of the Guillotine choke that eventually ended this one 45 seconds into the 1st round. Victor: John Kyler Main Event Danny Nejman (5-1-0) vs. Matheus Dias (3-1-0) An exchange of early blows from Nejman seemed to have made Dias want to take this one to the ground. He attempted takedowns from standing, and in the clinch but Nejman wasn’t having any of it. Dias started to get winded and left his guard down for a second, and Nejman capitalized on this opportunity landing a two punch combo ending with Dias crumpled up on the mat. Nejman becomes the first title holder in Shogun MMA! Will he continue his dominance or will he be dethroned by new challengers that will be awaiting their turn at the belt? Victor: Danny Nejman Stay tuned for more Shogun MMA action to come as our second event, “Shogun MMA – The Fall” is scheduled right around the corner 8-31-13!
  21. Makes me proud knowing that my people are finally engaging in the sport of MMA. Although they can't grapple worth a damn, boxing/kickboxing is on point. Starts at 2:30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qhpHF-iVJl4

  23. Well it's not quite Carlos Condit vs Matt Brown, but Tyron Woodley isn't a bad second prize. They've been confirmed to fight at UFC 171 now, http://mmainsider.net/13772/carlos-condit-vs-tyron-woodley-set-for-ufc-171 Picking Condit all day long, he has the chin to survive Woodley's power even if he can land it. Thoughts?
  24. I'm not sure if the UFC is going one division at a time in it's search for new talent (it probably isn't) but another couple of middleweights have been added to the roster and will be making their debut on UFC Fight Night London: Gustafsson vs. Manuwa. The UFC announced via it's official UK Twitter account that Mats Nilsson will face off against Luke Barnatt and Claudio Henrique da Silva will fight Bradley Scott. The 30 year old Mats Nilsson is a Rumble Sports product fighting out of Denmark, where he trains alongside a decent welterweight in Nicolas Dalby. The Swede is 11-2-1 in his five year mma career with wins over Denniston Sutherland, Tom Speer, and current UFC fighter Magnus Cedenblad. His only career losses have come to decent competition in Tor Troeng and Timo Suhenen. He has five victories by way of submission, with only two coming by form of knockout. Watching Nilsson fight, everything that he is on the ground he more or less isn't on his feet. He's a crushing grappler, both in the clinch and on the mat and one of the few European grapplers I've seen who appears to have a strong sense of how to generate solid takedowns. His long Judo background means he's very good at slamming opponents from the clinch and tends to not only time his shots well, but to change direction as he shoots in order to stop opponents from sprawling out on him. Once on the ground he's very very aggressive in his striking and grappling and moves fluidly into mount. He also stands out of full guard and looks for opportunities to dive back in with strikes and create openings, rather than staying static on top of opponents. All told he's one of the stronger European grapplers I've seen. Of course, as I foreshadowed, it appears that his striking has been somewhat left behind in all this. He stays active, and is light on his feet, but his footwork is often pretty bad and most of his strikes are either feints or merely a light throwing of hands toward an opponent to create the clinch. It's something he'll need to work on a lot at the higher levels and it could put him in a lot of trouble against a rangy fighter like Barnatt who is also exceptionally strong in the clinch. Training with John Hathaway and Zelg Galesic at the London Shootfighters Gym, the 31 year old Claudio Henrique da Silva has carved out a nice little run for himself over the last three years. After going 3-3 from 2006 to 2008, da Silva spent two years away from pro competition to return in early 2010. He's gone on a nine fight win streak since coming back with six of those wins coming by way of submission, to run his record to 12-3. Like Nilsson he has a win over Denniston Sutherland (in the final fight of an 8-man, one-night tourney) as well as long time journeyman Xavier Foupa-Pokam. His only loss was via disqualifiaction. Much like Nilsson, da Silva's striking is terri-bad. Really, watching his fights, it's worse. He tends to loop ugly punches with his head up and back. His kicking game, like all other parts of his striking arsenal appear to be a desperation tactic to get parts of his body connected to his opponent before he gets clipped too hard. His footwork is terrible, his defense is worse, but once he gets a hold of his opponent he's a grade-A clinger. He's much more aggressive in searching for submissions on top than Nilsson is, and his BJJ is obviously very strong, but with the gaping holes he presents I wouldn't be surprised if his UFC run is much shorter, even coming in against a fighter like Scott.
