  2. So the other day I was taking a very long dump and came up with an amazing idea. Bringing back the Olympics. Now, after the TAG TEAM tournament that came to a halt 24 hours before the events it was obvious bringing back the Olympics would be a challenge. But as always, I have a solution. Brought the idea to Mike yesterday and he is open to discussion. I would like to involve the community but after the last debacle when we appointed a team of 10 to propose game improvements that won`t work either. So I have come up with some rules of engagement: IMPORTANT: RULES OF ENGAGEMENT: 1- I will approach a team of 3 other managers, the 4 of us will gather all ideas/thougths from this thread and come up with the best course towards making the Olympics happen. The community is open to of course post everything on this thread but in the end The Coallision will take the best ideas and I will bring them forward to Mike Tycoon. I will try to choose a team of positive, engaged, tenured and unbiased managers. With the recent influx of super star managers coming back this part should be the easiest. I will ask the moderator team to please help me clean up some posts when stuff gets heated, for it will. Such is the way of porgress. 2- Please understand not all ideas will go through; I really need to make this very easy to understand for Mike and most important super easy to implement. If you have nothing good to say please keep this thread clean and your negative thoughts to yourself. 3- We are going to be testing these Olympics first, to gage: engagement, best practices as well as the reception amongst the community. So like I said, steps have already been taken to pick Mike`s interest and that first goal accomplished. I will post below how far I am on the process. Please bear with me, I had to make some stuff up myself so my first draft might not be the best but Mike is 100% willing to discuss so that already is a big win in my humble opinion.
  3. I think it's time we shake up the scene a tiny bit. Hello! I'm Zeke Williams, owner of Honolulu-Hilo MMA, and it's my proud pleasure to announce to you: The First Ever Amateur Olympics! For those that wish to participate, this is how it will work: Your job, as a manager, is to "sponsor" a rising fighter from his country. However, with limited spots in the tourney, and possible double-ups that I don't want, the country list will be pre-determined. A certain date will be decided to "sponsor" your fighter, as this will be a creation tourney. Depending on how much appeal this gets, there will be either 16 or 32 fighters, in groups of 4. Half of the fighters will move onto the double elimination bracket after the round robin group stage. Just to emphasize, each fighter will fight the other fighters in their group twice, and it takes two losses in the elimination bracket to be eliminated all together. Probably one of the more controversial points, rounds will be separated by one week each. This might irk some, for training and healing purposes, but it's the best way to keep the ball rolling. Alternatively, you can forfeit matches for your fighters if you feel it is necessary. The prize pool size will be determined by the total revenue of all of the cards, plus any donations, and will be split up as shown: 1st: 40% of the prize pool 2nd: 20% of the prize pool 3rd/4th: 10% of the prize pool 5th/16th: splits the remaining 20% of the prize pool 17th/32nd (if needed): nothing Lastly, here are the possible countries you can sponsor from. Once they're taken up by a manager, they're gone for good. The Americas: - Argentina - Brazil - Canada (Ibrahim Camara (118287)) - Colombia - Dominican Republic - Mexico - United States (Brunno Falcone (59400)) - Uruguay Europe: - Austria (James Listerman (89084)) - Belgium - Denmark - Finland - France - Germany - Greece - Ireland - Italy - Netherlands (Daddy Winger (119940)) - Norway - Poland - Spain - Sweden - Ukraine - United Kingdom Asia/Oceania: - Armenia - Australia (Prince Mitchell (116394)) - China - India (Dave Jones (108287)) - Indonesia (Hunter Johnson (124941)) - New Zealand - Philippines - Thailand Sign-Ups and Questions are all available here!
  4. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1363340514Logo01.jpg Welcome to The Synchronicity Six, where we will be giving you the chance to get up close and personal with Syn's last remaining warriors as they each make one last venture into the cage for Syn and the Tycoon Olympics. 5 fighters will be fighting to bring home gold and one fighter looking to add bronze to what has been an amazing Tournament for the fighters, their managers and Syn. First up is none other than Devlin Styles... Devin “Furious” Styles http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13945165273961.png Name: Devin Styles Nickname: “Furious” Weight (Natural): 205lbs Height: 187cm MMA Pro record: 25-8-0 Biggest Accolades: Former Syn’ 205 & 265 lbs champion Manager: Blunts Allday (record 14-5) On Friday the 4th of July, Devin Styles will be facing the man known as “The Holy Man”, Jensen Saint, in the finale of the Light Heavyweight division in the first MMATycoon Olympic Games. The two men will battle it out to be known as the best light heavyweight in the games and only one can emerge winner, taking the victory back to their respective organisation. Styles will be battling to take gold back for Synchronicity while Vatican City resident Saint will want to go home victorious to EVO. Syn’ will have to put a lot of faith into the younger Styles, as the 29-year-olds result this Friday could make a huge difference in where they finish in the final table. Styles’ has earned the trust and respect of the management and his fellow fighters, not only during the Olympic period with two impressive stoppage victories, but also during his time with Synchronicity. Since his arrival on the scene in Syn Styles has had 16 fights and during that time he’s won both the light heavyweight and heavyweight titles, with his biggest achievement being when he stopped the hype train known as Scotty Bennett (Bennett before his defeat to Styles was previously 27-0 pro record). Devin was also once the world number 2 pound-for-pound fighter after an impressive period of ten victories in eleven fights before losing his heavyweight title to “The Thing” Ben Grimm. It is unclear at this point what Devin has been training in the lead-up to this bout but with 21 of his 25 victories coming by (T)KO stoppages, it’s hard to see any other game plan that go for the knock-out. The only concern Styles’ may have coming in will be the ability of Saint on the ground but if Devin can keep the fight standing it’s hard to look past a Devin Style and Synchronicity win on Friday night. We look forward to seeing you all there and please send your best fan photo’s to the Synchronicity twitter (or Smack Talk page) in support of the Light Heavyweight hero! Written by Dan Milner
  5. What’s Different? - Events Instead of holding this in one org, the heads of Evolution, Synchronicity, and Ascension have come up with a new format. Each of the orgs mentioned will host events for the specified divisions. Evolution will host events for 145, 170 and 265. S ynchronicity will handle events for 155, 185, 265+. Ascension will cover 135 and 205. -Medals Will still largely be the same, individual tourney with fights happening like so, 1 v 8, 2 v 7 etc. 1st place gets gold, 2nd silver, and 3rd will get bronze. Managers and Org awards will still be awards based on points. Everything else about the tourney will remain the same for the most part.. Fighters still compete for medals. http://img28.imageshack.us/img28/3554/m38d.png Fighter Signups Each Division will have 8 spots available to the top 8 ranked fighter in that weightclass Depending on interest level this could be increased to 16 but for now it will be open to only 8. Each fighter that signs up will need to declare which Org they are representing. (just like Athletes represent their respective country in the real Olympics) Declaring an Org isn't mandatory, a fighter can be independent and fight w/o repping an org. Signups are located in Post #2. Matches All non medal fights will be 3 rounds with 5 minute fights except when in medal fights. All medal fights will be 5 rounds 5 minute fights. Contracts will be 10k base and win Schedule First round will start early to mid November. Rounds will take place every two weeks after that. How The Medals Will Work There will be three sets of medals awarded, for fighters, managers, and orgs. Individual medals will be awarded to fighters based on finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in each weightclass tourney, medals for managers will be based on the original point scoring system, and Orgs will have medals won by the fighters representing them tallied as if they were each a seperate country like in the real Olympics. Points Each fight will result in a KO, Submission, Decision/Split/Majority Win and Draw. After all the fights have been completed all points will be tallied up. KO or Submission = 3 points , Dec Win = 2 points , Draw = 1 and No Contest = -1 for offender, +1 for opponent Location Location for the 2013 games will be based in London for Evolution events and LA for Synchronicity and Ascension events. Prizes Fighters & Managers - Medals along with the bragging rights of being the best. Orgs - http://i.imgur.com/W0jmZ.gif If you would like to sponsor any prizes, be it clothing, supps, cash or whatever. Please post here and we will gladly accept it.
  6. When you hear “olympics” what crosses your mind?. You think the elite from all over the world gathered in one place. Competing on one grand stage all for one goal. It’s all for the gold! Evolution presents to you, The Tycoon World Olympics. Tycoon World Olympics http://imageshack.us/a/img5/6650/kqj2.png Team Games 8 Orgs will compete in the highest level of competition. If more than 8 orgs signup then the top 8 orgs will be automatically granted (based on org rank) in medal competition and any org outside of the top 8 will compete in the preliminary rounds for qualifications. Once the orgs have been identified for medal competition the orgs will go into head to head play. Each org would have already identified their Olympian (and alternate) in the following weight classes: Super Heavyweight (265+) John Staal Antonio Manoel Iiro Tolonen Heavyweight (265) Art Vandalay Dustin Douglas Mitchell Stehling Renzo Machida J Breaker Light Heavyweight (205) Binzo Binzo Daniel Speed Elvis Frost Middleweight (185) Welterweight (170) Sinuhe Egyptian Dennis Wise Holden Gracie Jyrska Velmu Dryden Mitchell Ricardo Gracie Thor HGH - Entry To Be Named Lightweight (155) Otso Jokinen Gary Bunn Featherweight (145) Danny Power Hector Cabrera Numero Cero Hector Cabrera Bantamweight(135) Vanilla Ice Cold Clint Lomax *Fighters are locked into one division for entire tourney* Matches All non medal fights will be 3 rounds with 5 minute fights except when in medal fights. All medal fights will be 5 rounds 5 minute fights. Contracts will be 10k base and win *** Currently we are awaiting results of poll for no injury with regular hype/pop gain.*** ***UPDATE*** As discussions have been going on, a slight change will be made. Now instead of one org hosting the event, the orgs hosting TWO will alternate after each round. This insures that when an org sends their TWO team, they get some from of compensation back. How The Medals Will Work There will be three sets of medals awarded. All based on points fighters earn during the tourney. Medals willgo towards fighters, managers, and orgs. Points Each fight will result in a KO, Submission, Decision/Split/Majority Win and Draw. After all the fights have been completed the org with the highest total points will advance to the next rounds. Here are the point breakdowns: KO or Submission = 3 points , Dec Win = 2 points , Draw = 1 and No Contest = -1 for offender, +1 for opponent Fighter Medals Based on point total for every fighter in their respective weight division, the top 4 fighters (in each divisions) with the highest point totals will fight for Gold, Silver and Bronze. 7. Tycoon World Olympics http://imageshack.us/a/img5/6650/kqj2.png Pros 1. All Orgs participating in TWO get a shot at hosting under same rules. Evolution would be first since the tourney is their idea. 2. The host of next year’s TWO is decided by the result of this year’s TWO. NO org can host Tycoon World Olympics more than once in 3 years. If Evo is in first place this year and Ascension is 2nd, then Ascension will hold 2014 TWO. Evo won’t be able to host it again until 2016. If Ascension wins this year, Evo would still have to wait til 2016 to host again. 3. No energy loss/injury means the best can fight the best, along with not locking fighters up for a long amount of time. Cons 1. This would be unfair to non TWO tournies being ran like EPL, ITFL, or other various others. They have to account for injury and energy. 2. Weekly tourneys have been ran without this “no energy loss/no injury” feature for a long time (EPL for example) ***UPDATE*** As discussions have been going on, a slight change will be made. Now instead of one org hosting the event, the orgs hosting TWO will alternate after each round. This insures that when an org sends their TWO team, they get some from of compensation back.
