JStaton
I know he hasnt fought enough at LHW to be ranked, but if he beats forrest griffin decisively in his next bout where would you place him in the rankings? MMA Weekly just published their world rankings and the LHW looks like this: #1 Light Heavyweight Fighter in the World: Rashad Evans 2. Lyoto Machida 3. Forrest Griffin 4. Quinton Jackson 5. Mauricio "Shogun" Rua 6. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira 7. Wanderlei Silva 8. Keith Jardine 9. Thiago Silva 10. Renato "Babalu" Sobra If Lyoto beats Evans, then obviously its been stated that Silva wont go for the title, but what if machida loses? Would you place A.Silva at a tie for #2 or 3 depending on his fight after griffin? It seems like Wanderlei Silva will soon be leaving this list and trying to implant himself on the MW rankings, and Rich Franklin is also trying to get a spot on this list alongside Jon Jones (a very impressive debut) and JZ. Nitrus
Don't think the champion of one class should even be listed.. When he losses or strip from his title, then we can put him in some place.. BUUUUUUUUUUUT! Let's be cool and put him in some position Well, Considering that if he beats Forrest, then he should be number 3, with Lyoto/Rashad between 1st and 2nd If Anderson > Forrest, and Forrest > Rampage, then Anderson > Rampage 1- Lyoto / Rashad 2- Lyoto / Rashad 3- Anderson 4- Griffin 5- Jackson
Guest
I wouldn't rank him as a LHW, unless he's firmly entrenched in that division--same reason I don't put Hendo up there--otherwise I would probably have Dan rated at #6. If he was, I'd put him at #3 immediatley. Currently I have it... 1- Rashad Evans 2- Lyoto Machida (soon to be #1) 3- Quinton Jackson 4- Forrest Griffin 5- Mauricio Rua 6- Antonio Rogerio Nogueira 7- Luiz Cane 8- Wanderlei Silva 9- Renato Sobral 10- Keith Jardine Not much difference, so pretty good rankings in my opinion. JStaton
Rampage over Griffin? Griffin beat him, and recently. I think that W puts him above him in the rankings considering the only person forrest has really lost too recently was the current number 1 Rashard and before beating rampage he was coming off two wins and a finish of the #1 word LWH at the time shogun. Rampage was #1 in UFC at the time, i see him as a SOLID 3.
captinbs
the way i see it is 1) rashad- he has the belt (for now at least) 2) Lyoto 3) Silva? (if he wins?!) 4) Griffin- if he beats silva look for another title shot 5) Rampage Jackson 6) Jardine- I don't think he's gettin enough love 7) Shogun Ruo- i think he's a little high on some lists (he needs another win in my book) 8) Wanderlei 9) Rich Franklin- (24-6 gotta give him props even though he's so-so right now) 10) Thiago Silva- he's a name and his most recent loss was to Lyoto
