This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

Alright, the main show this night was simply fantastic, full with action and big name and also a title shot on the line. This show received a rating of 122.38, which is indeed very high and also a sold out Hard Knocks arena that filled 3,000 fans inside there. AXF needs to find a bigger arena sooner or later.

Pad Digger vs Henry Davison

Pad Digger forced Davison to tap to his kimura just one second before the bell.

Brandon Sinistra vs Gal Dove

Gal Dove won easily by knocking Sinistra out in the first round.

Tristan Galahad vs Micheal King

King submitted Galahad with a beautiful guillotine.

Babak Dundee vs Mark Coleman

Babak Dundee put Coleman to hell and the loser bracket with an amazing americana.

Johnny Quattro vs Henry William French

Henry William French knocked the juice out of Quattro with punch and knee.

Prince Adam vs George Howard

Prince Adam didn't take much time to put another 'W' to his professional fighter career as he basically just took Howard down directly after the bell rung and then cranked the bone out of position of Howard's arm with a kimura to force a tap under twenty seconds into the match. Goddamn, this guy's a beast.

Tin Mann vs Ryan Eastmond

It was all good for Mann when it's standing up, with Eastmond connected only less than 20% of his shots. However, when Mann took Eastmond down and expected that it would be an easy ride for him, Eastmond showed off his very impressive ground skill by improving his position very easily and then pound Mann real hard on each shot. Mann wanted to submit Eastmond but he didn't find any chance in round one. Round two, Eastmond started the round with a nice jab and hook combo that put Mann's back to the mat and Eastmond followed up with more pounding on the ground but Mann was able to survive that round, barely though. Round three, another knockdown occured as Eastmond was aiming for bombs on standup, it was a very impressive combination of fury and wrath and Mann was again, down on the ground. Mann has a lot of heart, trying to work on a submission and hold on on the mat to find a way to win. Sadly, Eastmond was just too good and furious at this moment, and his hammerfists came in on Mann's chin again and again, until the referee decided to end this match up to save Mann for unncessary punishment.

Kyle McGee vs Whizzer Oz

This one was one hell of a match. Oz started the match with a great takedown but McGee was very good at defending strikes so Oz didn't land much before the referee standup later. McGee was looking for takedown after that but it was Oz, yet again, took McGee down for the second orund on the ground. There's not much happening on the ground so another referee standup happened. Oz decided to just shoot again and he put McGee down for the third time to finish the round perfectly. Second round, Oz took McGee down again but another referee standup was unavoidable. After the standup, McGee shattered Oz with a one-two combo but Oz was too good and took him down again and this time, directly onto mont position. McGee kept his cool, putting himself back to half guard later and maintained his defense until another standup. Oz again, put McGee down to the ground and then again to finish the round. In my book, this round was Whizzer Oz's but the referee decided to give it to Kyle McGee, weird. Now, it's time for the third round. McGee was doing good standing but Oz again put him onto the ground. It was the same thing but McGee was able to take Oz down this round to look better but the referee still stood them up though. Two minutes into the round, McGee has a good amount of time standing up and he slipped a lot of punches through Oz's defense before taking Oz down to end the fight. This one was tough, 29:28, 28:29 and 29:28, the winner by a split decision was Kyle McGee.

Brutal Rees vs Hansa Rachstakk

Rees made this looks like a free win for him, as Rachstakk didn't do anything since the beginning but getting a trip to the mat after a huge head kick by Rees. Rees waited Rachstakk to stand up and then cracked the blood-flowing face of Rachstakk with a huge right hand. Rachstakk wanted to come back but Rees jammed another bullet onto Rachstakk and he was completely out.

Latka Gravas vs Ivan Borisov

In this much anticipated middleweight title match between Gravas and the undefeated challengr, Borisov, we witnessed the strength of the champion and also how dangerous the challenger was. The challenger has the standup game of God, hitting Gravas a lot and dodged almost every strikes of Gravas there. Gravas was good though, he wasn't one-dimensional and he took advantage of it by putting Borisov to the ground. Borisov wasn't bad either, blocking and holding on until the referee standup. Gravas was determined as he took a combination of Borisov and insisted to take Borisov down again. After some time on the ground, Borisov made a mistake and his arm was in a bad position. Gravas saw it, quickly went for an americana and that one forced the challenger to tap. Darn, that one was beautiful!

That's it for now, I shall come back again on Friday.

AXF Friday Night Fights 27 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

It's time for more AXF action, I guess I will just write both events at once. So, this week's Friday Night Fights was just top-notch sensational and the rating of 129.06 was indeed on the high list of AXF history. The attendance? Sold out as always. Hell, there's two title fights so it's impossible to not sell the arena out.

Damingo Santino vs Michael Zullo
Damingo Santino got the unanimous decision win.

Rory Owen vs Yogi Bear
Yogi Bear got the unanimous decision win.

Joseph Cortez vs Tank Abrahms
Tank Abrahms won with his beautiful striking as he got the TKO in round two.

Dale Sinovic vs Bingo Bango
Another full length fight with Sinovic winning the unanimous decision.

Jason Penl vs Niisku Neiti
Jason Penl's beautiful triangle submitted Neiti in round two.

Deon Fernandez vs Leroy Goins
Goins was being absolutely fantastic tonight. He was actively hitting on Fernandez and that forced Fernandez to just take him down to the floor to prevent an early knockout. Goins didn't stay bottom for long, as he swept very quick to get to the top and then started his GnP attacks on Fernandez. Fernandez took all the shots yet he was still available, trying to submit Goins in the mean time but there's no finish in the first round. Second round, Goins was being more careful than ever on the takedown attempts. Fernandez did mix some striking too but he just couldn't take Goins down and Goins was very active in the striking game. After a lot of pushing forward by Goins, a very well landed combination put Fernandez back first to the floor. Goins followed, mounted and started to throw a barrage of blows on Fernandez and it forced the TKO as the referee quickly went in to cover. Awesome!

Les Norton vs Zach Morgan
If you ever wanted to know why I love AXF, it's because there's a lot of bomb-packing hands in AXF, and there's always a quick KO in almost every event. Tonight was no exception, as Norton dropped his bombs on Morgan in just 18 seconds into the fight. First, it was a beautiful left and right that put Morgan down but not out. Oh, there's blood too from the face of Morgan. Norton went in, slowly, watching for an opening and OH MY DEMON! That big left hand took the remaining juice out of Morgan and he landed flat on the floor. The referee was slow but Norton didn't follow, he just waited there for awhile before the referee went in and declared a stoppage. Absolutely nice KO punch there.

Jeff Thorn vs Bernard Blake
Wow, just wow on the performance of both these man. Blade put the hurt on Thorn first with an ultimate damaging three hit combination and Thorn was cut there. Thorn was hanging on though, and a returning combination hit the head and body of Blake nicely and Blake too, was cut. Two bloody fighters continued the fight as the crowd of 3,000 was cheering all over the arena. Another combo later by Thorn put Blake down to the mat and Thorn followed but he decided to stand up after he settled down. Blake got up quickly but Thorn put him out with a jab and then a knee to the nose of Blake. That crushing one put Blake down and out. Hell yeah for that attack!

Perrin Jones vs Nai Khanom Tom
Perrin Jones was up for his first title defense tonight against the undefeated NKT. Jones started the match good with a takedown but that was not enough to stop the referee from standing them up. After that...it's pretty much NKT's world. His striking was too good for Jones to take. Jones fought back after taking a lot of shots, but NKT was blocking most of them and the occasional shots were nothing for him to deal with. NKT also mixed some clinch on round two but it was just a short time. Round three, I thought the fight would end there ans finally, NKT put his opponent down with an OMFG combo. However, Jones was able to hold on the stressful period and even counter some of NKT's attacks and he hanged on and survived. Round four, NKT again, put Jones down and this time, with a counter combination but it was before the end of the round so he couldn't knock Jones out. Round five was slower in terms of pace as both fighters were tired but they still went on for a show. Eventually, Nai Khanom Tom stripped the belt off Jones with a 50:45 unanimous decision. Good job there, son.

Silver Boo vs Emilio Ramos
The main event of the night features the undefeated champion Boo on his second title defense against the undefeated challenger Ramos. Well, this was one hell of a fight as it's all action from round one. Ramos was going for the "stalk and big shot" style while Boo was on "I am going to hit you all night long" style for this match. Good game plan for both guys as it was a well-rounded battle from the beginning. Just one minute into the fight, Ramos cut Boo with a straight punch after some excessive circling for both. Ramos wanted to hit more but Boo was agile enough to dodge and fight back. Later, Boo took the fight to the ground and controlled for a bit before Ramos swept and grinded to the end of that round on the ground. Round two, Bob took Ramos down again but he stood up on his own will later and moved into the clinch for awhile before the break. Ramos hit harder and harder and then BOOM! Knockdown by combination! Ramos dived in but he wasn't doing much to finish and there goes round two. Round three was one perfect round for Boo, as he took Ramos down yet again but Ramos managed to sweep though. However, the greatness lies on the next few minutes as Boo finally took the top again. Boo took the chance to advance after a bad submission attempt by Ramos and his elbow sliced through the meat of Ramos like a metal slicer. Elbow after elbow, and the blood poured out from Ramos's head madly. Fourth round, Boo was doing better than Ramos, I guess his cardio was better and a two punch combo just before the fourth minute cut Ramos even further. Ramos did fight back but there wasn't any significant damage done there. Round five, Boo and Ramos exchanged for a minute and Boo took the fight to the ground again into the side control. Ramos knew what was coming and OH! An elbow. The referee quickly stopped the fight and asked the doctor to check on Ramos. Well, it was too much and the stoppage was called. Silver Boo retained his title today with a round five TKO cut win!

AXF 28 Review

AXF 28 failed to top the excellent Friday Fights Night, but the rating of 120.76 was pretty awesome too. It was also another sold out of Hard Knocks Arena.

Poopdeck PJ vs Sean Rodey
Popdeck PJ earned the unanimous decision victory.

Ryder Eipper vs Alberto Lopez
Lopez forced Eipper to tap on his strikes to get the submission win.

Matt Deep vs Rusty Trombone
Rusty Trombone won by unanimous decision.

David Dunne vs Mikail Barasshole
David Dunne won by unanimous decision.

Sylvester Hoodoo vs Jake Sully
Jake Sully forced the tap with a quick armbar on 1:31 of round one.

Victor Putznaya vs Mia Magoo
This fight was basically "Standup, Magoo; Ground, Putznaya". Putznaya clearly has the round one in his hand with his excellent takedown ability yet sadly, poor ground game. Magoo knew what was going to happen in round two, so he shoved some takedowns and then worked on throwing as many strikes as he could in a short time of standing up. Close round, but Magoo was doing a better job than his first round. Third round, Putznaya was just too tired and Magoo was able to hit him again and again for almost four minutes and that time Putznaya finally took Magoo down for the first time in that round but that was not enough for him to get that round. The scorecard was 29:29, 29:28 and 29:28 for the winner by majority decision, Mia Magoo.

Hank Langston vs Percival Pickervance
This was an excellent three rounds of stand and brawl. Sadly, there just wasn't many grand things that happened there so it's not easy to say too much about this match. Pickervance was in trouble in the first round as he was cut by his opponent. The blood was hindering his sight and thus he lost the round as Langston outstruck him. Second orund, Pickervance bounced back with one heck of a performance. It was still close, but with Pickervance picking the 10 for that round. Third round, both fighter went in with shots after shots, but Pickervance was just more active out there and that impressed the judge to give the last round to him. It's 29:28 for the winner Percival Pickervance.

Cleveland Crosby vs Donnie Fisher
This was a bout between two fighters with identical record. However, their skill level wasn't identical at all. Crosby was a beast in the striking segment, he could strike you everywhere and in any way. He hit Fisher in the standup, in the clinch and even on the ground throughout the short two minutes fight. Fisher couldn't land much before he was deep rocked by a wild hook. Crosby closed in for a clinch, and then pressed on the pressure by unleashing more and more from the clinch until Fisher was down and the referee forced the bout to end there. Wow! That tells you record ain't everything.

Liam Machin vs Jake Walker
I don't know...I just don't really agree with the decision this time but whatever. Machin wanted a takedown from the beginning and he eventually got it before Walker threw any efficient strike. Machin worked quite well on the ground, but Walker wasn't a sitting duck either. One thing I like about Machin was his nice GnP tonight, he landed most of it. Walker landed with a quick two punch combination just shortly after the referee stood them up and shortly before the second takedown. Machin wanted a submission but he didn't get any good one. Round two, Walker closed in and boom boom! A nice combination dropped Machin and he was cut by that powerful combo from Walker. Walker was aware of Machin's ground game, so he waited for the referee to stand Machin up. Walker wanted to finish it but Machin held on and took Walker down so he could recover his senses. It was ground game until the end of the round and that knockdown was too huge for Machin to get back on the 10 point so that round was surely Walker's. Third round, Machin waited Walker to close in for the clinch and quickly went for a takedown to counter that. Machin was very active on the ground this time and a few submission attempts nearly finishes the fight, but it just that Walker was very good too. The bout was scored 29:28 and the winner was Jake Walker. I wasn't sure why the first round was Walker's but I guess I am not looking at it professionally.

John L Sullivan IV vs Michael Scheisse
It's the fourth title defense for L Sullivan IV. If we were judging by his name, he wouldn't lose this one but Scheisse was a very good competitor, having double the fighting experience than Sullivan, will he get the belt under his waist tonight? Sullivan showed that his 7 KOs over 7 fights wasn't just luck or fluke, as he quickly rocked the hell out of Scheisse with a powerful hook and that was nasty! Scheisse threw some punches of his own to cover the time up so he could recover, smart move there, except that he didn't actually hit much of them. Sullivan pressed on and a knockdown occured after a beautiful combination of Sullivan. Scheisse stood up after that, darn the toughness of this guy and OH!!!! Sullivan hit Scheisse's temple real hard with that right hook and Scheisse found himself once again eating the mat. Darn with that! Scheisse stood up for the second time and later Sullivan knocked Scheisse down for the third time. This would be a TKO victory for Sullivan if this was a boxing match but no it's not and Scheisse was just tough as nail as he stood once again. Sullivan has a big smile on his face as he touched Scheisse again with his right hand of Devil and that one put Scheisse down for the fourth time. Yet he was not out, holy heck, this dude has a real tough chin and a big heart. Sullivan didn't give a shit to that though, he was hitting, he was avoiding strikes, he was winning so he pressed on. I thought it would be safe until the round end for Scheisse after he hanged on on that knockdown streak, but no, as the right hand of Devil once again found his way to Scheisse's chin cleanly later and Scheisse was knocked backward to the cage. He was half conscious there and Sullivan was tired of this game so he rushed in and smacked Scheisse good until the referee covered him up to stop the bout. Sullivan retained his belt with another vicious knockout, this dude was just...sensational.

I like all the title bouts of this week, so yeah baby, see you all next week for another amazing ride of AXF fights.

AXF Friday Night Fights 28 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

The week started up strong with a 125.40 show in the sold out Hard Knocks Arena, me and 2,999 other fans were having awesome fun throughout the night. So, well, let's go to the fights:

Ricky Roma vs Max Zero
Rocky Roma won by unanimous decision.

Mike Milson vs Ben Howell
A kick and some punches won the fight for Mike Milson as he picked the TKO win.

Josh Howell vs Raymond Williams
Josh Howell won by unanimous decision.

Alex DeLarge vs Silla Kim
Just after 46 seconds on round two, Silla Kim unleashed a KO punch to knock DeLarge down.

Ben Avit vs Rob Roy
Roy submitted Avit with a kimura.

Willy Sanchez vs Jack Napier
Napier was trying to hug Sanchez from the beginning and Napier quickly switched momentum and dragged Napier to the ground with a nice takedown to guard. Napier was very active on the bottom, trying to secure a submission but Sanchez was defending very well. Sanchez was doing good too from the top, hitting quite an amount of elbows and punches on Napier, soften him up for submissions. Napier was doing good at defending submission from guard though. However, a mistake by Napier exposed himself and letting Sanchez moved into side control. Sanchez quickly went for an arm, kimura was on and it's all done. Willy Sanchez, kimura.

Roland McGregor vs Gary Indiana
Indiana was performing very well in this fight and his game plan was perfect against McGregor. McGregor was trying very hard to get a takedown, but he just couldn't get any easily. He did trade punches to mess with Indiana, trying to confuse whether he was going for takedown or a strike. The only takedown that was done by McGregor was on the first round, but he was missing too many strikes on the ground and the referee asked them to get up. After that, Indiana was sprawling very well and avoiding takedowns at all cost. Indiana was also mixing things up by clinching up and hit McGregor hard. A well-played 30:27 win by Gary Indiana.

William H Bonney vs Tad Ghostal
Ghostal's standup was too much for Bonney to handle and Bonney was looking for takedown without trying to hit Ghostal and so it was very predictable, costing him the lose. Bonney should strike more from the clinch as Ghostal's clinchwork was bad but he didn't do so and just trying for takedowns all the time. The best round for Bonney as the second round, as it was a pure ground game round but Bonney just couldn't do enough damage to Ghostal at that round. Third round, pure striking game. Bonney hit some in clinch but majority of the shots was Ghostal's, and the fight ended with the score of 29:28, 30:28 and 29:28 for the winner, Tad Ghostal.

Geronimo Malkind vs Kid Miller
Both fighters started trading throughout the beginning of the first round, with Malkind cutting Miller with a looping left hand and that one was an excellent strike. Well, it was pretty even until Miller clinched up. Miller was just...perfect in the clinch compared to Malkind and he was hurting Malkind with all kind of strikes from clinch until the end. Round two, clinch again and I thought Malkind was toasted. However, surprisingly, Malkind finally landed a successful takedown to guard at 2:49. Malkind slowly worked his way to side control and yes, this was exactly like the Sanchez vs Napier fight, worked to side control and then a vicious kimura, Miller has no choice but to tap. Wow, this was the comeback of the night I believe. Malkind was just a beast on the ground and the champion belt was his tonight.

Shizuka Uesugi vs Arnaud Savage
Savage was just...savage in this match. Pure savage. He was kicking the life out of Uesugi standing up and Uesugi couldn't do anything at all. He tried takedown but nothing was landing. On the other hand, Savage took him down easily. However, Uesugi was not weak on the ground though, and it was a position war on the ground and since both guys didn't try to pound that much, it was pure BJJ on the ground. Round one was just...like that. Round two began with another takedown of Savage and after a full round of ground fight, Uesugi was getting frustrated and directly went for a leg lock from full guard, bad mistake. Savage quickly advanced and then mounted Uesugi. Uesugi was still doing things aggresively and as he lifted his head up, Savage locked in a tight gulliotine. He knew his time was short and so he directly went full power on Uesugi. Uesugi was holding...and holding...still holding and oh he tapped! Just one second before the bell. Sad news for Uesugi but oh well, Savage won by guillotine choke.

AXF 29 Review

AXF 29 failed to top the excellent Friday Fights Night again, and this one got a rating of 114.76. Well, this show wasn't expected to take out FNF this week, as FNF was clearly the bigger show this week. Only 2,000 fans showed up and damn, we might as well book the 2,000 capacity arena for this one but whatever. Let's get on with the fight, it's still awesome nonetheless.

Pad Digger vs Tristan Galahad
Pad Digger won by unanimous decision.

Raf Gon Dias vs Tristan Tanghe
Tristan Tanghe won by unanimous decision.

Raul Sanchez vs Doctor Baldacchino
Baldacchino took out Sanchez with a triangle choke on round three.

Igor Addams vs Luke Milstone
A quick five seconds knockout as Addams sunk his knee into the face of Milstone.

Anaal Robby vs Jason Glover
Glover landed some big punches and that was a clear KO just 26 seconds into the fight.

Joe Foe vs Josiah Scurlock
Round 1, clearly Foe as his Ground and Pound sealed the fate of Scurlock on the ground, Scurlock was totally a punching bag on the bottom and so Foe was getting the round 1 easily. Round 2, Scurlock knew Foe was looking for takedown again and so he hit Foe as hard as he could and as many as he could before Foe took him down. This round, he was defending well on the ground to earn the referee standup and then continue to put on the damage to Foe to get that round. Round 3, damn, round 3 was pure gold. Scurlock started the round with some quick strikes, cutting Joe Foe in the process and Foe eventually got a takedown just after half of the round. Joe Foe knew he needed this round, and he unleashed more and more on Scurlock until the end of the fight. That was almost 50:50, but the judges knew who they would go for. So, the fight was scored 29:28 by all judges, and the winner was Joe Foe.

William Magahin vs Barry Scott
I didn't really need to go on detail wih this fight. It was basically just Magahin and a sandbag inside the cage. Scott basically took everything, missing every punches he made, missing every takedown attempts and he lasted 7 minutes and 42 seconds of torture and passed out...that's it. He was down after a huge head kick and then Magahin basically swarmed him with strikes until the referee put a stop to it.

Aragorn Arathorm vs Joe Slow
Pure BJJ battle, that was all this fight was about. Arathorm was doing a lot on the bottom, trying to submit Slow in any way possible but Slow was doing good with his slower approach. He also threw some punches to soften Arathorm up in the process. As soon as Slow took the side control later, he locked in an americana and Arathorm was done for. Damn, side control is just lethal to a BJJ specialist.

Jesse James vs Harrison King
Wow, this sure didn't last long. James was going for takedowns, King shoved one and then another one was avoided. After that, King hit James hard, we saw blood on James's head and the next second James was sent downward to the canvas. He rolled and stood up again but that quicken his death though, as King charged in and hit him with a picture perfect right hand that put James to the canvas for sure. Well, 24 seconds knockout by King, awesome.

Stuey Ungar vs Will Wilde
This fight could be the defination of "beatdown". Alright, so Wilde was looking for takedowns throughout all three rounds and he got none. In return, he got Ungar-ed for more than 70 times. Heck, maybe like 100 strikes I guess. One thing I didn't understand was that Ungar kept on clinching and break it, again and again. I didn't know what was that but it's alright as Ungar was still killing Wilde here. A perfect score of 30:24 and the winner was Stuey Ungar.

AXF 29 slightly let me down but the Friday Night Fights is just...impressive. Next week, I believe AXF 30 is going to break the world down, Bondi Outdoor Arena, 5,750 seats. Damn, that would be one hell of a night, and to top that up is a lot of great fights, including two title fights. AXF FNF has a title fight and some other great fighters too, so it would still be a solid show. So yeah, I will see you all next time.

Australian Xtreme Fighting Presents:

AXF Friday Night Fights 29 Preview

G’day fight fans and welcome to the official preview for Australian Xtreme Fighting’s Friday Night Fights 29.

FNF29 will take place at the Hard Knocks Arena here in Sydney, and we anticipate a sold out crowd for this 3,000 seat arena. The energy here in Sydney is electric as we head into the fight that will decide who is the king of the AXF talent-rich 135 lb. division.

Fight #1 – Ephraim Goodweather v. Johnny Dillon

To kick off the night, we have a 185 lb. bout between Ephraim Goodweather and Johnny Dillon. Goodweather is coming off a loss in his last bout, so look for him to come out with his superior muay thai and try to decisively end this fight. A knockout of Dillon would see him a much more serious contended in the 185 lb. division. On the flipside, Dillon comes into this fight high off a submission victory in his last bout. Look for him to use his superior wrestling to control the cage and ultimately take the fight to the floor, where he’ll try to use his BJJ to make Goodweather ‘tap or snap.’

Fight #2 – Johnny Triad v. Cain Terminator

Our second fight sees Johnny Triad and Cain Terminator square off in the 205 lb. division. Both of these fighters come in with a loss in their last fight, so we should be in for an exciting match as the last thing these two fighters want to see is a judge’s decision. Triad edges out Terminator in the striking department, but the key here may be Terminator’s wrestling. Still, Triad’s takedown defense seems solid, so look to see him try to force this fight to stay standing and use his superior boxing and muay thai to try and force an end to this fight. If the fight ends up on the ground, we may see the Terminator seek to control and do some damage before looking to lock in a submission. Triad’s BJJ is no joke either, so this should be an interesting fight if it hits the mat.

Fight #3 – Daton Everlast v. Richie Yang

The third fight of the night sees Daton Everlast face off against Riche Yang in the 185 lb. division. Again both fighters have something to prove as they both come in off losses in their last bout. Everlast must keep this fight standing – he absolutely dominates Yang in the stand up game. If the fight goes to the mat, Everlast is in trouble. A BJJ brown belt, all 4 of Yang’s win have come by way of submission. Yang’s wrestling has looked better lately, but Everlast may eek out just a bit more skill in the area. Look for controlled but powerful strikes from Everlast as he goes for a KO while simultaneously trying to reduce his vulnerability to takedowns. If the fight hits the mat, get ready for an exciting BJJ display from Yang.

Fight #4 – Rocky Cobra v. Brett Yelton

Another fight in the deep 185 lb. division sees Rocky Cobra take on Brett Yelton. Yelton’s last win came by way of unanimous decision off of another fighter on this card, Ephraim Goodweather. Rocky Cobra is coming in off a devastating knockout loss. He’ll hope to get back to his winning ways here. He has looked extremely demoralized lately, hopefully it won’t impair his performance. Look for Cobra to take the advantage in the boxing department, but Yelton’s leg kicks may help him keep Cobra out of range. Yelton solidly outmatches Cobra in both wrestling and BJJ, so look to see Yelton try to get this fight to the ground and look for a submission. Demoralized though he may be, 7 of Cobra’s wins have come by way of knockout or TKO, so Yelton would be wise to avoid Cobra’s heavy hands.

Fight #5 – Tim Song v. Kirill Dostoevsky

Our next fight sees Tim Song taking on Kirill Dostoevsky. Song, a BJJ whiz, has won 8 of his 9 fights by way of submission. Dostoevsky conversely, has ground out decisions in all 3 of his wins. Song has looked sharp in his standup recently, but after a knockout in his last fight, look to see him utilize superior BJJ to look for a submission. He’ll have to get by Dostoevsky’s solid wrestling and takedown defense to do so, so don’t be surprised to see Song pull guard – he can be aggressive from his back if he needs to. Dostoevsky is outmatched in the striking game, but he may look to test Song’s chin after seeing Song get KO’d in his last fight, but most likely expect to see takedowns and ground control. With Song’s submission skills however, we’re in for a quality fight.

Fight #6 – Gijs Groosman v. Mikko Rourke

Again in the AXF’s 185 lb. division we see Gijs Groosman take on Mikko Rourke. This one should be a very interesting fight to watch. Both fighters are very well rounded, and mirror each others skill set closely. Groosman lost his last fight by way of armbar, so we may see Rourke look to use his BJJ to go after Groosman’s joints. Both fighters have KO power however, and both fighters boxing have looked sharp recently. Both fighters are also BJJ purple belts, so neither can take the other’s ground game lightly. It’s hard to foresee this fight going to the judge’s scorecard. The 185 lb. division is so deep here in the AXF, so both fighters know they need to put on a show for the fans to keep moving their way up the ladder.

Fight #7 Xxtreme MMA v. Andrus Orlhovki

The super heavyweights take to the cage with Xxtreme MMA taking on Andrus Orlhovki. I hope they reinforce the cage on Friday night, as these boys are enormous. MMA will try to keep this fight standing. His boxing and muay thai aren’t necessarily leaps and bounds above Orlhovki, but you need only ask the last 3 guys he knocked out how heavy his hands are to see why he may look to stand and bang. Conversely, Orlhovki prefers to take the fight to the ground and look for a submission. MMA’s BJJ is no joke, however, so Orlhovki won’t have an easy go of it. Look for MMA to go for the KO while Orlhovki tries to stay outside and look for a trip or a takedown to seek a dominant position and go for a submission.

Fight #8 Chuck Tito v. Tarzan Bundolo

We have another exciting match in AXF’s 185 lb. division, as Chuck Tito takes on Tarzan Bundolo. Both of these guys have some heavy, heavy, hands, and we’ll see them both trying to take each others heads off in this fight. Of the 19 fights between them, 10 of them have been finished by way of knockout. Neither of these guys is fooling around with their boxing – they don’t just want to hit you, they want to hurt you. Tito comes in off a devastating 1st round knockout win in his last fight, and you’d better believe he’ll look to do the same on Friday. Bundolo managed to pull out a decision, but knowing his style, he’ll be looking to show everyone once again what kind of power he packs. Look for an exciting stand up battle. Both of these guys can fight a ground game, but I don’t expect us to see either of them spend a significant amount of time on the mat.

Fight #9 Markku Osteri v. Whizzer Oz

Our lighter weight fighters come in at the end of the night, and to kick it off we see Finland’s Markku Osteri take on North Korea’s Whizzer Oz. These guys are both veterans, each having seen the inside of the cage 16 times. Both are competent boxers, and they both hold purple belts in BJJ. Both fighters have knockout power and each has seen his opponents fall unconscious due to their powerful strikes. Where Osteri may have an advantage however is in his BJJ. Although also a purple belt, Oz has not seen his arm raised due to a submission victory, whereas Osteri has seen it 5 times. Osteri has knockout power of his own, but look to see him try to take this fight to the ground where he may have a slight advantage in going for a submission. He may seek to keep it a boxing match, but he’ll need to watch his chin as Oz will certainly be seeking to separate it from his shoulders.

Main Event – 135 lb. Title Fight – Chopper Reid v. Jimmy Sikblood

Our main event of the evening sees Chopper Reid defending his 135 lb. title against challenged Jimmy Sikblood. As the cliché goes, it’s harder to keep the title than it is to win it, and this will see Reid defend his title for the first time. Both fighters have incredibly solid records and there is no doubt that this one will be exciting for the fans to watch.

The champion comes in to this fight with a decision win over Stuart Wray where he earned the AXF 135 lb. title. Prior to Wray, Reid won a majority decision over JP Greywar. Having previously won KO of the night awards, Reid is looking to send a message to the rest of the 135 lb. division and all those that question whether he can successfully hold on to his title. The last thing Reid wants is 3 people judging his fight, he wants the referee to pull him off Wray’s limp body as he beats his face in. Reid knows some BJJ, but would rather pound his opponents into submission rather than utilize a choke or joint manipulation. He has also yet to be knocked out himself, a testament to his solid chin. His boxing is his main striking art, but his muay thai has looked better and better lately.

The challenger comes in off a 34 second knockout win in his last fight. If anyone questioned his KO power before that, they’re eating their words now. Sikblood holds a brown belt in BJJ himself, but has yet to look for a submission victory over his opponents. Like Reid, he would rather stand and bang and try to put his opponent to sleep. His wrestling is solid as well, so we may even see him look to clinch and throw some dirty boxing to soften the champion up.

With two extremely talented heavy handed knockout artists that possess the kind of cardio that a lighter weight fighter can, our main event is one for the ages. Reid looks to prove that he can hold onto his belt, and Sikblood would like nothing more than put Reid down for the count. Either way, this fight will be outstanding. Get your pillows out ladies and gentleman, someone will be going to sleep.

To add to the excitement, the winner of Reid v. Sikblood will go on to the ACME Bantamweight Tournament to crown MMATycoon’s #1 Bantam Weight Fighter. That makes this card a must-watch for any serious fight fan.

That’s all for this AXF Preview. Tune in on Friday for another exciting night of fights as AXF heads to the Hard Knocks Arena here in fabulous Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, where our Main Event sees Chopper Reid in his inaugural title defense against Jimmy Sikblood. You will not want to miss this one folks!

An in-depth look at the lives of AXF Bantamweight champion Chooper Reid and challenger Jimmy Sikblood

This Friday night the paths of 2 elite Mixed Martial Artists will converge at Sydney’s Hard Knocks Arena and only one will continue the journey with the AXF bantamweight championship belt in hand.

For incumbent title holder Chopper Reid, the road to AXF champion has been a turbulent one to say the least. Reid, the son of a devout 7th day Adventist, spent most of his childhood in and out of orphanages. By his early teens he had turned to a life of crime to survive and at the age 15, under the instructions of his own mother, Reid was certified as mentally insane and sentenced to a shock treatment program that he would later go onto claimed changed his life...and not for the better.

Reid spent most of the next period of his life in the big house. In between these stints he earned a living as a standover man on the mean streets of Melbourne. It was a vicious cycle that consumed his life until a friend sent him a dusty old pirated VHS tape that would change his life forever…the Ultimate Fighting Championship tournament number 1.

Reid was immediately captivated and began to contemplate. All of the things that had made him such a highly sought after gun-for-hire, the toughness that saw him survive after having a screwdriver literally driven through his heart, those dark and uncontrollable urges deep within his makeup that lead him to spending most of his life in and out of state institutions…could they be put to good use in a sport that would not only support him financially but also give him a legal, safe and controlled outlet for these urges and enable him to lead a normal life and contribute positively to broader society?

Reid began training immediately and after defeating his first opponent by TKO in the 2nd minute of his first fight, he knew that MMA was the blessing that would offer him every opportunity he had hoped for.

Fast forward to 2010, 12 wins and 3 loses later and 26 year old Reid is the AXF Bantamweight champion, number 1 ranked bantamweight fighter in Sydney and number 13 ranked bantamweight on the planet.

Most importantly for Reid though, he has managed to free himself from the shackles of his former life of crime and is working to repay society for the damage he has caused in the past. He regularly volunteers with various charity groups and recently started his own program to help troubled and underprivileged kids find the path to a better life through the discipline learnt from training in Mixed Martial Arts.

He enters the cage on Friday on a 7 fight win streak, including a successful title defence in the now defunct OFC organisation and 2 successful title defences at AXF.

Standing across from him will be a man who has walked a very different, much less publicised but equally as tumultuous path to the AXF cage, Jimmy Sikblood.

Beneath Sikbloods brash and confident demeanour is an inspirational story of a man who has fought against the odds to ignite the fire that has driven him to the upper echelon of global Mixed Martial Arts competition.

Sikblood spent most of his life in the sleepy town of Huntingdon in the United Kingdom. The eldest of 5 children in a working class family, he spent most of his youth dabbling in many sports but it was the thrill of two very different, but equally as exhilarating sports, that fought for his heart…Mixed Martial Arts and Surfing.

Unfortunately for Sikblood, the nearest surf beach was over 50 miles from his home and even in the warmer months he would require the services of 3 wetsuits to protect him from the often below freezing temperatures.

Sikblood persevered with both sports, but it was in the gym that he found real success. By age 17 he was an accomplished amateur boxer and had simultaneously become a highly respected Jiu-jitsu artist.

Despite his successes, things away from the gym weren’t so rosy for Sikblood. He was falling into a pattern of self-destruction. His daily training sessions were gradually superseded by long drinking sessions and his concept of training had become exchanging intoxicated knuckles with patrons of the local tavern.

It was at this point that Sikbloods long time coach and friend Steve Riformato, concerned that the ability he saw in Sikblood was quickly going to waste, pulled him aside and afforded him an opportunity that would change his life…the chance to relocate to the sunny shores of Hilo.

Riformato was so intent on not seeing Sikbloods talents fall by the wayside that he had gotten in touch with an old friend who was running a gym and fight promotion business in Hilo to see if he Jimmy could slot into the organisation. Riformato paid for Sikbloods ticket, one way, and the rest as they say is history.

Sikbloods meteoric rise, however, wasn’t without adversity. Although Sikblood was enjoying the opportunity to start afresh, the opportunity to pursue his other long lost passion quickly became his priority. Within a matter of weeks, Sikblood had virtually traded his Gi for his surfboard.

In urgent need of money, Sikblood took his first fight in Hilo on 3 days notice and was defeated via decision.

One the eve of his next fight, his professional debut, Riformato got a call to say that Jimmy had not been seen at the gym since before his last fight.

Needless to say Sikblood lost the fight. Riformato’s fears were being realised and worst still for Riformato, Sikblood was on the other side of the world and unable to even be contacted. Riformato remembered a saying that had become the catalyst for change in his own life…”Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly”. If something was to trigger a change in Sikblood, it would have to come from within Sikblood.

Miraculously, in the days following his unsuccessful professional debut, something did happen that would light that fire within Sikblood.

Sikblood spent the days following his 2nd defeat in an alcohol fuelled binge that lead him to fall, hit his head and buckle unconscious on the shores of Hakalau Bay. Unbeknownst to Sikblood, the tide was rapidly rising, and there wasn’t a single soul in sight.

Before long, the situation was becoming critical; the tide had begun to cover Sikbloods body. Sikblood was still unconscious and bleeding heavily from a deep laceration to the head. By either sheer luck or at the hand of some divine force, local doctor Kai Kahana had returned to the Bay to try and retrieve a pair of sunglasses he had left behind whilst on a family picnic earlier in the day.

Putting his own life at risk, Kahana managed to remove Sikblood from the danger zone, stabilise his condition and get him to the hospital emergency department.

After several weeks in intensive care, Sikbloods condition continued to improve until the point where he was able to walk out of the hospital with his own two feet and a new lease on life. What would be most defining and life changing for Sikblood was not how close he came to meeting his maker, but the parallels between Kahana’s life and his own.

Kahana, a prodigious student, had been an avid surfer who had wasted the opportunity to go to medical school in favour of surfing the local breaks. One afternoon, whilst surfing in the dangerous waters of the very same bay where he would later meet Jimmy Sikblood, he had watched the life of his closest friend sucked from him into the menacing dark jaws of the Pacific Ocean. Had Kahana had even completed a single semester of medical school; he would have been able to save his friend. This tragic event was the catalyst for Kahana to turn his life around and 5 years later he graduated with honours from the highly regarded John A. Burns Medical School at the University of Hawaii.

Kahana had been celebrating the birthday of his passed friend the day he took those brave actions to save the life of Sikblood. It was the first time Kahana had so much as made contact with the waters that had taken the life of his friend all those years ago.

Kahana’s story resonated with Sikblood and triggered a fire within him that has not waivered since. Sikblood recovered fully, dedicated himself to the gym, and went on an 8 fight win streak that saw him successfully gain and twice defend the highly regarded Ring of Fire bantamweight belt.

In July this year, Sikblood suffered his first defeat since his life changing ordeal. Steve Riformato, who now manages Sikblood fulltime, admitted that there were concerns about what impact the loss would have on Sikblood. All questions were answered when Sikblood came out and, in true Sikblood style, bounced back to defeat highly touted Napoleon Bonaparte in a gruelling split decision.

The strength and resolve he has attained since the events at Hakalau Bay on that fateful day have enabled him to push on through any obstacles that have come his way and when he crosses paths with Reid tomorrow night he will be looking for his third successive win and 4th successful title fight. Reid will be just another obstacle, not unlike the many that have come before him.

To say that the task ahead of Sikblood won’t be easy is an understatement, but Sikblood has shown he has a history of doing things the Sikblood way…against the odds.

The Quick 3 with…Jimmy Sikblood, AXF Bantamweight Top Contender

DL: You have had a lot of success fighting out in Hawaii, why did you decide relocate to Sydney?

JS: “I came hear for this fight. Chopper has been coasting through this division but really im sure he sh*t himself when i joined.

DL: I must say as a fight fan, I am eagerly anticipating this match-up. Chopper Reid has had a tremendous record against top tier fighters from all styles and disciplines…what makes you confident you can beat him?

JS: My stand up matches his and my jiu-jitsu is far better so how is he gonna beat me? ..... he isn’t the answer, whether i put him to sleep or submit him as he has been before I might add, it doesn’t matter but I have never been finished EVER.

So what makes this fool think he can do it, hes a fraud, a publicity stunt who has been fighting fighters who really aren’t up to much, i think u will see this is the case when he steps in the cage with me.

DL: Any messages for Chopper before the cage door closes on October 1st?

JS: “your not on my level you actor, in fact i would love to smash your face into the floor now, but i'll save it for everybody to see you get exposed, i cant wait to be king of my division, this is the best run organisation around so they should be rewarded with a great champion, also i will win the upcoming tournament where im representing AXF and will prove im the best in the world.

Chopper you leave the cage on a stretcher i promise you !

~The camera pans over the two standing fighters sweating profusely in the center of the ring as the scores are announced. The Usually brash Chopper is not sporting his grin that comes with a one sided beating like the one he just gave Sikblood. No you just see his somber face as the UD is handed to him, his hand is raised, and the belt is strapped across his waist. As the interviewer comes to get his response he stands ready.~

Interview- Wow! Chopper everyone thought this match was gonna be a big test for you but yet again you turn in a beautiful showing and beat a man many thought had the edge on you.

Chopper- Eh... I had looked past him the moment he showed his face to fight. I knew his Brown belt was from a McDojo so his subs didn't scare me, and he had no power or speed to scare me either. I am just disappointed in myself.

I- Disappointed? Chopper you just teabagged this guy for 25 minutes taking 3 rounds by 10-8 scores!

C- I know but I waisted a lot of energy to beat this scrub. I mean here I was silent, doing everything in my power to train my ass off so that I can finish him quickly and be ready to peak for the BW Tourney in afew weeks.... Now I have to rest before I can get back in the gym... Its sad and disappointing really.

I- So are you saying Chopper you didn't even prepare for Sikblood? Gameplan? Anything?

C- I trained my skills yes but not specificly for Sikblood. When I fought that Bloke Greywar I was 100% focused on Greywar I knew how he walked, how he fought, and even how he brushed his teeth in the morning. Sikblood.... Hell I hardly knew his name until the press release came out the other day.

I- Well.... Since you had such a lack of respect for him before the fight did he earn any from you during?

C- Nah.... Not really.... He can go back to Hawaii and surf for all the fuck I care he obviously doesn't belong here fighting the big boys at Bantamweight.

I- Well Chopper it was wonderful seeing you fight as always. Good Luck in the Tournment

Australian Xtreme Fighting Presents

AXF 30 Preview

G’day fight fans and welcome to the official preview for Australian Xtreme Fighting 30.

AXF30 will take place at the beautiful beach-side Bondi Outdoor Arena in the Bondi suburb of Sydney. Australian MMA fans are in for an exciting night of fights as two champions will enter the cage to defend their AXF titles. Will we see two new champions crowned, or will the current champions walk away victorious? Be sure to get your tickets now to find out!

155 lb. - Iqbal Al Mamood 4-2-0 v. Mr. Fists 5-5-0

The opening fight of the evening sees Iqbal Al Mamood take on Mr. Fists in AXF’s lightweight division. Al Mamood is the naturally bigger fighter, so we’ll have to wait and see how much the weight cut takes out of him. Al Mamood tends to use his wrestlng and BJJ to keep his opponent on the mat and grind out a decision. Fists has knockout power, and with Al Mamood having been put to sleep once in the past, we may see Fists try to sprawl n’ brawl his way to a knockout.

135 lb. Crusty Pelican 8-5-0 v. Chuck O’Brian 2-2-0

Next we have Crusty Pelican taking on Chuck O’Brian in the always exciting bantamweight division. Although close in age, Pelican has significantly more fights on his record than O’Brian. O’Brian has won all of his winning-fights by knockout, but he hasn’t faced anyone with Pelican’s caliber of boxing. To compliment this, Pelican also has a brown belt in BJJ, and has sought to utilize his wrestling to keep opponents pinned down and look for a decision when the opening presents itself, winning 3 of his fights by way of submission. O’Brian should keep this fight standing and look for an early K.O. before Pelican can grind out his energy and lock in a submission.

205 lb. Rocco Carter 5-4-0 v. Will Henderson 6-4-0

Rocco Carter then takes on Will Henderson in the light heavyweight division. Carter is a well rounded fighter, counting knockout, submission, and decision wins in his career. Henderson is definitely a ground fighter. He has good hands and muay thai, but there’s no doubt he prefers to get his opponent down and vulnerable and look for a submission, winning 4 of his victories by way of the tapout. He may have a hand time keeping the fight on the ground though, as Carter’s wrestling is at a slightly higher level. Look to see Carter try to stay away from the mat and Henderson’s BJJ as he looks to outbox his opponent.

145 lb. John the Butcher 5-2-0 v. Chris Bacon 5-4-0

Our fourth fight of the evening has The Butcher taking on Chris Bacon in the featherweight division. These guys are almost exact mirrors of each other, having a similar skillset, and even winning fights in the exact same manner – each man has 3 KO victories and 2 decision victories. The different could be Butcher’s chin – his opponents have put him down for the count, where as Bacon’s chin has yet to be tested. Fans should see a good back and forth wrestling match as well as both fighters swinging for the fences looking for that highlight reel knockout.

135 lb. Paul Cicero 4-1-0 v. Wacko Warner 8-6-0

Also in the bantamweight division, we have Paul Cicero taking on Wacko Warner. Cicero is one exciting fighter. Not once has he seen the judge’s scorecard, and has been stopped only one time in his career. Warner is a calmer fighter, pacing himself and looking to score points and control his opponent. Look for Cicero to try to put an end to that decisively. Both fighters are BJJ black belts, but Cicero has an advantage in all other areas. Look for Cicero to try to end this fight quickly – he should have no desire to go against Warner’s cardio. Warner will try to control Cicero, but with Cicero’s takedown defense and BJJ skills of his own, Warner is going to have a hard time of that.

265 lb. Max Milson 7-2-0 v. Baldur Eirikur 7-4-0

The super heavyweights take to the cage next as Max Milson takes on Baldur Eirikur. Eirikur is extremely heavy handed and has won by knockout in 6 of his 7 victories. Milson, a BJJ purple belt, has dangerous submissions and excellent ground control ability. Look for Milson to try and exploit the holes in Eirikur’s BJJ game, as his camp has carefully studied Eirikur’s submission loss to Kinho Santos. Eirikur has the advantage when it comes to boxing, but Milson’s muay thai kicks may let him keep Eirikur on the outside. He’ll need to watch those legs though, as he may leave himself open to the takedown.

170 lb. 6-2-1 James Rhodes v. Thiago Alves 5-3-0

AXF’s welterweight division is highlighted next as James Rhodes takes on Thiago Alves. Rhodes and his camp have been working his boxing hard going into this fight, and for his sake he had better hope his takedown defense is up to speed. Rhodes is far outclassed by Alves’ BJJ, and will be in serious trouble if this fight ends up on the canvas. That being said, if Rhodes can keep the match standing, he can drop some serious bombs and packs a load of knockout power. Alves has a good BJJ game, but has yet to finish an opponent with a submission yet. Look for him to try and go for a submission as his BJJ far outclasses Rhodes.

205 lb. Sun Wukong 7-1-0 v. Thomas Pusher 9-4-0

Heading into the main events, we have Sun Wukong taking on Thomas Pusher in the light heavyweight division. Wukong has some dangerous muay thai, and his head kick knockout of Tommy Bobo was one of the nastier ones we’ve seen in a long time. Pusher packs knockout power of his own – look to see him try to get inside Wukong’s kick range and use his boxing to soften his opponent up. Don’t expect this fight to go to the mat. Both guys will be looking for the KO victory, and the key for Pusher may be getting inside Wukong’s range.

155 lb. Aitch Bubbles 7-0-0 v. Mark Scylla 6-1-0

Our co-main event of the evening sees lightweight champion Aitch Bubbles take on Mark Scylla. Bubbles is undefeated in his professional career, while Scylla comes in with only one loss to his name. Both fighters are very well rounded and in many aspects are reminiscent of each other. The champion has a tendency to go for decision victories however, while Scylla is no doubt a finisher, having gone the distance only twice in his career. That could be the difference, however. Everyone is asking if Scylla have the sort of cardio to really last deep into the championship rounds. Bubbles may have somewhat of an advantage when it comes to the standup game, but these fighters are both so well rounded and have such a diverse skill set its hard to call where this fight will go. Bubbles wants to hold onto his title and keep his unblemished record, and Scylla will be doing everything in his power to make sure that doesn’t happen. One thing is for sure, whether this fight goes the distance or ends in the 1st round, these fighters will put on a show.

265 lb. Patrick Stettin 7-2-0 v. Lil James Thunderstruck 5-1-0

It’s a good thing AXF 30 takes place at the beautiful Bondi Outdoor Arena, as I don’t think the roof could stay up otherwise when these titans enter the ring. Both fighters naturally tip the scales at 300 plus pounds and actually cut to make the super heavyweight cap. That’s right ladies and gentleman; these two are so huge they have to cut weight to make the super heavyweight division. Both fighters come in on win streaks, and neither of them wants that to stop. Having lost to Thunderstruck last time they met, Stettin will be looking to avenge that loss and get back to the top of the division. The challenger is a well rounded fighter, and in addition to his great boxing and wrestling is working hard to improve his BJJ. The champion makes no qualms about what he is – a striker through and through. All 6 of his professional fights have ended with a knockout, and in only one of those was his opponent able to get the better of him. Stettin will come out guns blazing, and try to utilize his boxing to take the belt from Thunderstuck’s waist. Don’t expect to see a kick thrown the entire fight, neither of these guys wants to do anything but punch each other in the fact. Thunderstruck will need to watch himself though, as if Stettin sees an opening, he won’t hesitate to take this fight to the mat. His BJJ is constantly improving, and we saw him pull out a submission victories over both Brick Bazooka and Eddie G. Look for Thunderstruck to throw caution to the wind and go for a first round knockout, while the challenger tries to weather the storm and look to take him down and pound him out in the later rounds. Hold onto your seats when he does – with 600 pounds hitting the canvas, this place is going to be a practical earthquake zone.

That’s all for this preview of AXF 30. Tickets are on sale now at the Bondi Outdoor Arena box office for this evening of world class MMA action as we see two AXF titles on the line and a supporting card of exciting fighters here in Sydney. Australian MMA gets better everyday, and this is one card you won’t want to miss!

AXF Friday Night Fights 29 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

Hello, fellow AXF fans, it's another week of AXF events and Friday Night Fights wrecked up a huge rating of 131.76 to star the week with a blast. The Hard Knocks arena is always full, so I guess there's no need to mention that everytime...oh I mentioned it now? Whatever, let's move on to the fights.

Ephraim Goodweather vs Johnny Dillon

Dillon won with an ultra-tight armbar that forced Goodweather to tap out just one second before the bell.

Johnny Triad vs Cain Terminator
Triad won by unanimous decision after three hard-fought rounds.

Daton Everlast vs Richie Yang
Everlast won by unanimous decision after three rounds of fight.

Rocky Cobra vs Brett Yelton
A five second knockout punch brought victory for Rocky Cobra today.

Tim Song vs Kirill Dostoevsky
Kirill Dostoevsky won by unanimous decision.

Gijs Groosman vs Mikko Rourke
Groosman started up briliantly with some slugfest-speed striking. Surprisingly, he actually landed quite a bit of his punches there before he was taken down by Rourke. Groosman wasn't good on the ground at all, especially when he was at his back and Rourke was hitting him hard there. Rourke stood up later, clinched up and took Groosman to the gorund yet againl. Rourke's swiftness surprised Groosman as he took the mount position real quick. Then, it was all punch after punch until Groosman was forced to tap out at 4:46 of round one. Darn, you sure need to make your opponent suffer a lot o a tap out at such a time.

Xxtreme MMA vs Andrus Orlhovki
I thought MMA would take this one after a hard-fought battle, but this seemed to be more close than I ever thought it would be. Hands were flying formt he beginning, and Orlhovki decided to mix his strikes up with some kicks. However, his kicking ability was just too weak to make any impact in this match. They clinched up a few times but did nothing much in the clinch except stalling and I thought there would be round 2...until I saw MMA's legs. He was soften up by a serie of blows of Orlhovki, especially the right hook he taken, that was one massive shot. Orlhovki closed in, BAM! Monsterous straight right, MMA tried to cover up but Orlhovki ended it with a left hook that put the sleep on MMA.

Chuck Fuck Tito vs Tarzan Bundolo
This was another brawlers match-up and I expect them to stand and bang. CFT hit a straight right that sliced Bundolo's face up and blood started to disturb Bundolo's view of the battle. Out of my surprise, CFT actually took Bundolo down, I think he was trying to secure the round with a takedown. Referee stood them up after a boring minute and they banged up each other again. CFT was in the advantage as he was just too accurate with his striking, picking Bundolo up blow after blow. Bundolo could take a punch, hitting back when he found an opening and that made a good match. After another minute of punch trading, CFT again put Bundolo to the ground and this time into side control. However, CFT was just looking for control so there wasn't much to say there. Both were stood up again and CFT hurt Bundolo's cut hard with an one-two before the bell. Round two, both fighters were going out of style there with a slugfest style brawling. CFT was on top again, as he was just too good with his boxing ability. His hands were slicing Bundolo hard as we witnessed more and more blood pouring out from Bundolo's face. It was real nasty and Bundolo was having a hard time catching up the fists of CFT with the obstacle around his eyes. CFT landed a combination around 3:48 and that worsen Bundolo's cut to the level that the doctor has to check on it and the doctor declared Bundolo was out. Not even Bundolo's iron chin could save him from a defeat today.

Markku Osteri vs Whizzer Oz
Not much time were spent on the standup department as both fighters were actively looking for takedown. It could be more close, but Oz was just too inactive on the ground. Osteri, on the other hand, didn't mind to dig his punches into Oz's meat any way possible all night long. The ground action wasn't that fast though as we saw a few referee standups on round one but that round was certainly Osteri. Round two, the referee was just too lazy to stand them up anymore and we saw Osteri hitting Oz hard, especially when he was on mount position. Well, Oz was in trouble when Osteri took his back, and by mounting him, it was heaven for Osteri and Hell for Oz. Osteri basically just sat there and threw strikes, more and more of them reached Oz until eventually Oz tapped out. Wow, two tapouts of strikes tonight, this is just awesome!

Chopper Reid vs Jimmy Sikblood
Finally, main event, bantamweight title belt on the line. Well, despite being a title bout, this was pretty one-sided. Reid was just too much for Sikblood to swallow in the standup department. Sikblood did try to fight back but he was just getting toyed by Reid all night long. So, he changed his plan, trying to take Reid down but out of 35 attempts, only 4 landed and he just barely did anything on the ground so the referee always stood them up. Reid was also attacking from the clinch, but he was weirdly clinching and breaking all the time so I wasn't sure what was his plan. Anyway, this was pretty much 25 minutes of Reid ownage and the final score was 50:43 by all three judges.

AXF 30 Review

I wasn't sure what the hell is this, but AXF 30 wasn't reaching the expectation...at least my expectation. Near half of the Bondi Outdoor Arena was empty, as only 3,156 fans attended the event. I was expecting a 150 for the event rating, but this event only pulled off a 130.04. Well, life is just hard...feel free to suicide and come Hell, you can chill with me down there. Anyway, let's move on:

Iqbal Al Mamood vs Mr Fists
Mr Fists proved that his fists were good as he KTFOed Al Mamood on round two.

Crusty Pelican vs Chuck O Brian
Chuck O Brian TKOed Pelican on round two.

Rocco Carter vs Will Henderson
Rocco Carter got a TKO on round one.

John The Butcher vs Chris Bacon
John The Butcher won by unanimous decision.

Paul Cicero vs Wacko Warner
Paul Cicero was on the judge's side today, as he won by unanimous decision.

Max Milson vs Baldur Eirikur
Eirikur was pushing the tempo from the beginning and Milson has no answer for that. Milson found a temporary solution later, which is the clinch but Eirikur's power was too much and Milson couldn't hold Eirikur in his clinch. Eventually, Milson was weak enough to get knock down and it was a combination that put him down. Milson was cut and rocked, damn this was Hell for him. Eirikur didn't want to waste more time so he saved his power and unleashed a very lethal overhand right that dropped Milson directly. Eirikur eventually mounted up and swarmed him with attacks until the referee decided to call it a day.

James Rhodes vs Thiago Alves
Alright, this one was close fight. Alves, without any doubt, owned the first round. He was active and aggresive and he event got a very beautiful takedown after checking a leg kick. Alves later got a takedown of his own, but he was just not on par with Alves this round. Second round, Rhodes was more desperate but Alves again proved his takedown ability after dodging a few wild hooks of Rhodes. Rhodes didn't give a crap, holding his position on the ground until another predictable referee standup. Rhodes continued to hit hard and Alves drove him to the ground yet again just before the round ended. It was very close but the judges gave it to Rhodes so whatever. Round three, Rhodes hit a perfect head kick and then landed a wonderful takedown to start the round well. Alves fought back later when they were up again and then scored the best takedown for this match as he landed on the mount position. Alves controlled the ground now, landing shots...on the mat more than his opponent. Seriously, this dude needs some GnP training. Close for me and the judges too. Well, the score was 29:29, 29:28 and 29:28 for the winner James Rhodes by majority decision, real close there.

Sun Wukong vs Thomas Pusher

While the last one was very close, this one was a pretty convincing win for Sun Wokong, who outworked his opponent all three rounds. Pusher was doing good every round, but it was not enough to win against the hyper-active Wukong, as he was really in the zone today. Multiple leg kicks and clinched knees all night long won the fight pretty easily for him. The key factor was work rate, which Pusher just didn't have enough. A easy 30:27 unanimous win for Sun Wukong.

Aitch Bubbles vs Mark Scylla
Lightweight title bout was the co-main event of the night and the undefeated champion would look to continue his streak. Scylla started up well, and he cut Bubbles up with a quick jab and then a few more punches landed hard and Bubbles's legs were shaking. Holy damn! Scylla wanted to finish but Bubbles was calm in the rocked condition, doing a better job than before-rocked for some weird reason there. Bubbles was fighting back all of a sudden and Scylla was in the defensive. Bubbles was no joke, he fought back real hard and it was Scylla that was going into the rocked state now. Scylla returned fire but Bubbles ducked down perfectly and an uppercut of Street Fighter level clashed on Scylla's chin. Scylla was out without any second doubt. Damn, this was the fight of the night for me and perhaps knockout of the night, Bubbles is just awesome!

Patrick Stettin vs Lil James Thunderstruck
For the main event, we have a super heavyweight title bout and I just love Thunderstruck as he was giving me a shocker with some awesome knockout everytime he stepped into the ring. However...Stettin was just in the zone this match, utilizing his good wrestling ability to take LJT out of his standup game. Well, LJT had some time standing up but he didn't land many meaningful shots and it was Stettin that hit him hard on the standup tonight. Stettin was winning every aspect of the fight so this was a very convincing 50:45 unanimous decision win for the new champion, Patrick Stettin.

This is it for this week, see you all next time.

G’day fight fans and welcome to the official preview for Australian Xtreme Fighting 31.

AXF31 will once again take place at the lovely Bondi Outdoor Arena here in Sydney, where we anticipate a sold out crowd of nearly 6,000! There are no titles on the line at AXF31 but don’t let that deter you fight fans, the stakes are high as our competitors keep trying to climb that ladder to eventually get what it’s all about: a title shot.

265 lbs. – Geter Done 8-10-0 v. George Howard 5-4-0

Our first fight of the evening sees submission specialist Geter Done take on George Howard. Don’t let Geter’s blue belt fool you, this guy knows how to tap out an opponent, scoring an impressive 7 victories by way of submission. Howard on the other hand would like to stay on his feet and punch you in the face. Done is coming in off a serious losing streak, so he really needs a win here to get back on track. Howard stands in his way, and with his boxing and wrestling skills, he certainly won’t make it easy.

170 lbs. – Caleb Reimer 9-3-0 v. Dick Kidd 6-4-0

Caleb Reimer takes on Dick Kidd in the welterweight division for our second fight of the night. Reimer is a smart and patient fighter, securing all of his victories by way of unanimous decision. Occasionally the fans get restless, but the guy is smart and knows how to control his opponent, so there can be no question about his skills. Kidd is a bit more aggressive of a fighter, having earned two knockout victories. Both guys have good hands and good wrestling, but Reimer really shines in the BJJ department. With such superior BJJ, we may even see Reimer pull out his first submission victory, that is of course if he can get past Kidd’s hands.

185 lbs. – Matt Silva 11-4-0 v. Kevin Curtain 4-1-0

Next Matt Silva and Kevin Curtain square off in the middleweight division. Both fighters have scored three KO victories and both have displayed excellent boxing in their past fights. Not to be one-dimensional, both fighters also possess quality wrestling and BJJ skills. This fight will be exciting wherever it goes. Look to see both fighters perfectly content to stand and bang, but if either one leaves an opening, the takedown won’t be far behind.

205 lbs. Hansa Rachstakk 7-4-0 v. Johnny Secunda 6-3-0

In our light heavyweight division, we have Hansa Rachstakk taking on Johnny Secunda. This fight should be a ground battle showcasing extremely high level jiu-jitsu. Both fighters have numerous submission victories under their belt, with Rachstakk winning all 7 of his victories by way of tapout. Look to see a highly technical and extremely skilled ground battle with both of these fighters looking to exploit weaknesses and go for a submission victory. Jiu-jitsu fans should be in for a real treat her.

170 lbs. Longfellow Deeds 5-2-0 v. Ryan Eastmond 10-3-0

Also in our welterweight division, we have Longfellow Deeds taking on Ryan Eastmond. Deeds is a black belt in BJJ, while Eastmond has extremely high level boxing and his muay thai is looking better every time we see him. Eastmond likely has a bit of an advantage in wrestling, but he will want to think twice before going to the ground with Deeds, who has earned 3 submission victories in past fights. Look to see Eastmond try to keep this fight standing and utilize his wrestling to try and control his opponent and prevent a ground battle. Deeds can stand and trade, but expect to see him try to get this fight to the ground where he can use his BJJ to try and sink in a submission.

135 lbs. Iuis The Brazilian Thunder 6-3-0 v. Stuart Wray 11-7-0

Our bantamweights take to the cage next as Iuis ‘The Brazilian Thunder’ takes on Stuart Wray. Both of these fighters posses KO power and an ever-improving ground game. Both fighters come in off wins, and they will both want to keep that momentum going Saturday night. Iuis has won in his past 5 fights, and has been looking unstoppable. The next thing in his way towards a title shot is Wray, so look for Iuis to come out looking for a decisive victory. He will need to respect Wray’s skills though and not be careless, because he only needs one opening to test the Brazilian’s chin.

170 lbs. Michael Kelso 7-4-0 v. Pauli Painija 4-1-0

The next fight of the evening sees Michael Kelso take on Pauli Painija in the welterweight division. This fight should be a battle of the strikers, with both of these guys having a solid boxing game and earning KO victories in previous fights. Kelso has more fights under his record, and we may see that experience come into play Saturday night. Painija is a very confident fighter though, so expect to see him go in there with a solid game plan. Look for this fight to go back and forth between the standup and the ground, as both of these fighters have looked comfortable fighting from all positions.

265+ lbs. Halbert Gomes 3-1-0 v. Jimbo Spice 3-0-0

Next we have undefeated Jimbo Spice squares off against Halbert Gomes in the super heavyweight division. Spice has looked unstoppable so far in his MMA career, winning all three fights by way of KO. He will face perhaps his most difficult challenger yet in Gomes, who also has earned three KO victories in his career. Having been KOd once himself, Gomes will need to utilize good head movement and not let Spice test his chin, and counter with his own hands. Look to see Spice the aggressor as he knows he has what it takes to put Gomes to sleep, while Gomes tries to work the counter and land a big shot to finally see what Spice’s chin is made of.

185 lbs. Cleveland Crosby 9-5-0 v. Ivan Borisov 6-1-0

Heading into the main event we have Cleveland Crosby taking on Ivan Borisov in the middleweight division. I hope the fight fans enjoy seeing strikers, as we have yet another fight that has two solid boxers squaring off. Crosby has an insane seven victories by way of knockout. This guy swings for the fences with every punch – but that has also cost him in the past, as he’s been put out five times himself. Coming in off an impressive four win streak, Borisov will have scouted his opponent well and learned his weaknesses. Expect to see Crosby come out guns blazing, while Borisov stays composed and tries to reserve his stamina and look for a counter strike. If this fight makes it to the second round, look to see Borisov explode and try to end it quick. Don’t anticipate the Judges being involved here ladies and gentleman!

170 lbs. Cedric Daniels 12-6-0 v. Perrin Jones 10-6-0

Our main event of the evening sees deeply experience welterweight fighters Cedric Daniels and Perrin Jones square off to see who advances in the talent rich 170 lb. division.

These fighters both possess a very well rounded arsenal and both have won fights by KO, submission, and decision victory. This will be an incredibly exciting fight as no matter where the fight goes these fighters possess the skills to go toe to toe aggressively.

With such a varied skill set, it’s very hard to call where this fight will go. Daniels appears to have the better striking game, while Jones has been working hard on his BJJ, so we may see Daniels try to keep the fight standing and utilize his boxing while trying to avoid the mat and Jones’ BJJ skills. Jones on the other hand may try to sweep his opponent with his excellent wrestling and look for a sub victory. Either way, both fighters will need to watch each others hands at all times because both of these guys possess the sort of KO power to be feared and respected. If the fight ends up on the mat, look to see Jones try to sink a submission in while Daniels works to get back to his feet.

No matter who wins happens in this fight, the fans will definitely be in for a real treat with such well rounded and talented fighters on display.

That’s all for this AXF31 Preview. Be sure to get your tickets now before they are sold out – this is one night of fights you will sorely regret missing!

AXF 31 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

AXF is calling for revolution. Instead of a steady two cards per weekend, we now have one card most of the time, and Friday Fight Night as bonus cards in some weeks. This will make sure we have one awesome card every week and that is a clever move by mr.DePalma. The card recieved a rating of 123.82 and 3,272 fans were there to watch the show live inside Bondi Outdoor Arena. Despite the one-show setting, this show was just dull in my opinion, with not enough finish especially in the main card.

Geter Done vs George Howard
George Howard gave the crowd a good start with a TKO in round one.

Caleb Reimer vs Dick Kidd
Caleb Reimer won the unanimous decision.

Matt Silva vs Kevin Curtain
Matt Silva won the unanimous decision.

Hansa Rachstakk vs Johnny Secunda
Hansa Rachstakk locked in a fatal kimura and won within 18 seconds of the fight.

Longfellow Deeds vs Ryan Eastmond
Deeds finished the fight with an armbar.

Iuis The Brazilian Thunder vs Stuart Wray
This was as expected a standup battle. TBT was quite dull though, as he was solely throwing head kicks at Wray. These kinds of strategy usually didn't work, and Wray was able to get the first round easily with mixed striking. TBT was cut by a counter jab in the first round too. Going into the second round, TBT was doing more now, cliched up early in the round. Both fighters were at least mixing strikes in the clinch, so it's pretty even. The clinch was broken and one of the most notable attack before the next clinch action was a counter head kick by TBT, that one's a nice counter. Inside the clinch, Wray was able to deepent he cut of TBT with a vicious elbow but then that round was TBT's for sure. Third round was real close, with both fighters trying very hard to get that round. I love the clinch action there, when both of them weren't planning to stall at all. That round was hard to judge, and the judges gave it 10:9 TBT, and two 10:10. Some was going for Wray, so it's pretty controversial. Anyway, the final score was 29:28, 29:29 and 29:29 and so it ended in a majority draw.

Michael Kelso vs Pauli Painija
This one was not bad at all. Kelson was going for boxing all the way, landing some vicious punches and Painija has solid ground and pound. Round one, if Painija could hold Kelso a little bit longer on the ground, he would get that round but Kelso's aggresiveness when the fight wasn't on the ground was just too much for the judge to sway their decision away from him. Round two, Painija did a lot, he worked real hard there but Kelso's striking was just outside of his level and he had a hard time defending the strikes. The referee was being a pain in the ass for Painija, as he was standing them up a lot. Round three was indeed Painija, with more than 95% of the round on the ground. Painija was actively looking for finish on the final round, but his GnP get Kelsost by a 29:28 decision.

Halbert Gomes vs Jimbo Spice
Spice was playing a clinch'n'pray strategy in this fight. Well, he was going for bombs on standup to get the judge's attention and then invest some time on the clinch to waste the other portion of the time off. Gomes fought back with his boxing and also inside the clinch, but Spice's power shots were just too good, especially with one that cut Gomes on the face, that first round was Spice's. Second round, Spice inflicted deeper cut to Gomes with an awesome hook. Well, the contant clinch and break was just boring...but that at least gave the second round to Spice. Gomes fought back with all he could in the final round, but without a finish he just couldn't win. Spice won by a 29:28 decision.

Cleveland Crosby vs Ivan Borisov
The main factor of Borisov's 'W' was his takedown ability. The fight stat was pretty average on the other aspect, standup punches, ground and pound, but Borisov's takedowns were huge in this fight. Crosby has no answer to the takedowns and not even the referee could save Crosby from getting taken down again and again. Crosby did reverse his position to gain top, but his GnP was not as good as Borisov, and thus, he couldn't do much. Maintaining top and GnP, referee standup; Standup on his own, get taken down. Without any solution before the final bell, Borisov won 8mous decision.

Cedric Daniels vs Perrin Jones
The first round was real close, with Jones doing a lot of work, clinch, takedown while Daniels was just looking for a standup war. One problem of Jones, was that he could get people to wherever he wants, he doesn't have the ability to hurt him in the position he wants. Thus, despite the great effort of Jones, the first round wasn't his. Second round, Daniels did very well there, preventing any attempt to take him off the standup position and landing strikes effectively. That round was a shut out for Daniels. Jones bounced back a little harder on the last round, but the ability level of these two could be seen by now and that round was still, Daniels. Daniels won with a fairly easy 30:26 decision.

Alright, onward to next week! Another two cards for next week, and I hope there will be multiple finishes and just exciting fights. See you all until thenn.

G’day fight fans and welcome to the official preview for Australian Xtreme Fighting’s Friday Night Fights 30!

This exciting event takes place at the Hard Knocks arena here in Sydney this Friday night, October 15th.

265 lbs. Mark Coleman v. Desmond Hume

Our first fight of the night sees heavyweights Mark Coleman and Desmond Hume enter the cage.

Coleman likes to sprawl and brawl, whereas Hume is a striker, but has no problems taking the fight to the ground either. Coleman prefers accuracy in his strikes, while Hume is always looking for that knockout. Look to see whichever fighters wrestling pulls out as superior try to push the other around and control them against the cage, while Coleman looks to score points, and Hume looks to score a knockout.

170 lbs. Lazarus Slade v. Damingo Santino

Next we have Lazarus Slade taking on Damingo Santino in a welterweight matchup.

Slade has a bit of a shaky record, but never count him out of a fight. This is only Santino’s second professional match, so we may see Slade’s experience carry him ahead. Santino seems fairly one sided, essentially only having a BJJ game. That is a problem in MMA, as you can’t submit an opponent you can’t take down. Slade is well rounded and has a brown belt, as does Santino. Look for Santino to try to take the fight to the mat, but with Slade’s experience and takedown defense, that won’t be easy.

185 lbs. Micheal King v. Tuski Fema

Our first middleweight match sees Micheal King take on Tuski Fema.

King has appeared exhausted lately, and he’d better get some rest before this fight if he wants to last more than the first round, and that’s no doubt where Fema will want to take him. Both fighters seem a bit demoralized, and it looks like Fema, with his walk around weight of 200 lbs. may have a bit of trouble cutting to make weight. Let’s hope this one doesn’t end in a NC, as King possess’ much superior striking, and Fema possess’ far greater wrestling, so either way, this fight should be one-sided yet very exciting.

170 lbs. Tin Mann v. Mohammed El Sayed

Next we have Tin Mann taking on Mohammed El Sayed in the welterweight division.

We don’t know what’s going on in El Sayed’s training, but the man just does not at all look like he wants to fight. His morale has appeared shattered during training. Nevertheless, his striking game is solid, so he can never be counted out of a fight. Mann on the other hand is a BJJ ace, and although he may only hold a purple belt, don’t be surprised to see him land a submission here on Friday and possibly earn his promotion.

185 lbs. Sylvester Hoodoo v. Nic Bravo

Sylvester Hoodoo takes on Nic Bravo in the middleweight division.

Hoodoo comes into this fight on a 4-fight win streak, and Bravo would just love to put a stop to that. Hoodoo has looked strong in his last few fights, easily controlling the octagon with his wrestling and bullying his opponents into decision victories. He’s only earned a KO once in his career, so look to see him try to push his opponent around with wrestling again on Friday. Bravo is a submission specialist, so if Hoodoo wants to take the fight to the ground, Bravo won’t mind at all. We may even see him pull guard if that’s what it takes. Look to see Hoodoo try to control the octagon while Bravo seeks to end up on the mat and sink in a submission.

170 lbs. Hank Langston v. Rusty Trombone

Our third welterweight fight sees Hank Langston take on Rusty Trombone.

Both fighters come in off losses in their last match, and both want to get back to their winning ways. They are both very evenly matched in the skill set, and both have appeared to have very similar game plans in their last few fights. Look to see both opponent try to impose his will through wrestling while also handing out accurate combos with their strikes.

265 lbs. Babak Dundee 7-3-0 v. Bernard Blake 4-1-0

Another heavyweight match-up sees Babak Dundee take on Bernard Blake.

Heavyweight submission specialists are certainly not a common thing, but Babak Dundee would like to change that. Five of his victories have come by way of submission. He has the kind of flexibility you rarely see in the heavyweight division, and he loves to use his long limbs to his advantage. Blake is more of a standup fighter, and he’s been working his wrestling hard with his camp. Holding a purple belt in BJJ himself, look to see Blake try to keep this fight standing, but if it ends up on the ground, we should have an interesting battle on our hands as Blake no doubt has been working his submission defense and with his excellent strength, he will try to neutralize Dundee’s submissions and end this fight.

185 lbs. Jake Sully 6-2-0 v. Donnie Fisher 7-6-0

Our middleweights take to the canvas as Jake Sully takes on Donnie Fisher.

Jake Sully on first glance appears to be a boxer – his hands are very skilled. But when you check out his fight tapes, you can see that he would rather break your joints or choke you out then knock you out. Fisher on the other hand is a solid striker, and I’m sure wants nothing to do with Sully’s ground game. Sully’s corner has likely noticed that Fisher has now been knocked out 5 times in his career, so we may see Sully’s hands really unleashed for the first time in this fight. Look to see an interesting standup battle, with Fisher attempting to stuff any takedowns. If this one ends up on the mat, it would seem quite in Sully’s favor.

205 lbs. Henry William French 8-6-0 v. Michael Scheisse 14-5-0

In the light heavyweight division we have Henry William French taking on Michael Scheisse.

French has a solid background in boxing, and has been working his wrestling lately as we’ve seen him get taken down in the past and there’s no question he doesn’t like it. His muay thai is also improving. His game plan is fairly straight forward – take fist, put into opponents face, collect check. He packs power with every punch, and he has nothing but bad intentions with every strike he throws. Scheisse on the other hand is a much more calculating fighter, looking for openings and weak points to exploit. The majority of his wins come via decision, but he has earned several knockouts, so he certainly can throw when his opponents chin is dangled before him. Look to see French swing for the fences while Scheisse looks to counter and score points with big takedowns.

265 lbs. Emilio Ramos 5-1-0 v. Jeff Thorn 9-0-1

Our main event this Friday night sees Emilio Ramos taking on Jeff Thorn in the heavyweight division.

Bookmakers and fight analyzers around Australia are having a tough time with this one. Both fighters have a remarkably diverse skill set, and appear very closely matched.

If there’s one thing we can all count on, it’s that this fight could end at any second. Both fighters have rattled opponents brains and both possess the sort of strength and knockout power to do it again.

Expect to see Ramos try to keep this battle standing. He has the sort of wrestling and BJJ to be a competitor on the ground, but we haven’t seen him utilize it in any of his fights except to stuff his opponent’s takedowns. He’s much more comfortable in the striking game, and look to see him try to repeat his past victory patterns on Friday. Who knows what sort of tricks he’ll have to pull out though, as his opponent no doubt has him very well scouted.

Thorn on the other hand is happy to stand and trade or take his opponent down and control him on the mat. He has yet to earn a submission victory, and it has seemed in his recent fights that he prefers to advance his position and throw out some ground and pound. Coming in undefeated, there’s no doubt Thorn will want to keep that record alive. Look to see him counter strike and try to weather the early storm, shooting for takedowns when the opportunity presents itself.

That’s all for this preview of Friday Night Fights 30. Tickets are on sale now at the Hard Knocks Arena box office, but don’t delay, this one will sell out lightning fast!

G’day fight fans and welcome once again to the Hard Knocks Arena for this preview of Sunday night’s Australian Xtreme Fighting’s AXF32!

We have 10 exciting matches coming up for you, you won’t want to miss a minute of the action.

205 lbs. Niisku Neiti 2-1-1 v. Gal Dove 5-3-0

We begin our night with a light heavyweight match between Niisku Neiti and Gal Dove. Both fighters looked very well rested walking into the arena, but Dove’s look is not convincing that he actually wants this fight. With a slight edge in wrestling, look to see Neiti try to control the cage and score points with takedowns. Expect Dove to try and slip some knees or elbows from the clinch if he can manage to shove Neiti up against the fence.

265+ lbs. Kacperniuski Demon 3-2-0 v. Bingo Bango 3-3-0

The super heavyweights take to the cage as Kacperniuski Demon takes on Bingo Bango. These fighters are both very evenly matched, and should provide a very exciting fight. Both of them have made it to the judge’s scorecard in the past, so the usual complaints about super heavyweights having no gas tank shouldn’t need to be voiced with these two gladiators. With such evenly matched fighters, expect to see a war in every aspect of MMA as these fighters battle around the cage. I hope they reinforced the mat…

145 lbs. Three Dog 0-0-0 v. Poopdeck PJ 4-2-0

The featherweights are up next as newcomer Three Dog takes on Poopdeck PJ. This is Dog’s professional debut, and PJ will be looking to capitalize on that inexperience as much as possible. PJ has yet to win a fight by anything but decision, but with his edge in boxing in this fight, we may see him come out looking for that KO victory. Dog has some really dangerous muay thai and wrestling, so he may come out and use leg kicks to keep distance and set up a takedown. He’ll have a lot to prove in his debut, and this should be a great fight.

135 lbs. Captain Caveman 4-2-0 v. Alberto Lopez 3-1-0

The bantamweights are up as Captain Caveman takes on Alberto Lopez. Lopez has an edge in the striking department as well ass BJJ. He will have to get past Caveman’s wrestling to use that BJJ, however. Caveman’s takedowns are excellent, and he has managed to clip three prior opponents for KO victories. That being said, look to see Caveman likely try to stay in tight to avoid Lopez’s kicks, and try to control his opponent against the cage and dirty box while working for a takedown – he should want no part of being on his back against Lopez. Lopez will look to soften Caveman up with strikes and probably look for a KO, but if the opportunity presents itself, he will put that brown belt to use.

265+ lbs. Dale Sinovic 4-2-0 v. Xtreme MMA 6-8-0

Another super heavyweight match sees Dale Sinovic take on Xtreme MMA. MMA is coming in off a rough four loss streak. If he can’t get back to his winning ways Sunday, who knows what’s next for his career. That being said, he has some real boxing skill and has KO’d three opponents in the past. He has an edge in most areas in this fight, in fact. Sinovic will look to capitalize on MMA’s losses and go for the chin. His muay thai is always improving, so look for him to toss some serious kicks out, knowing MMA is vulnerable to the KO. If Sinovic can swing out a clean head kick, this could be a contender for KO of the night.

155 lbs. Kyle McGee 5-3-0 v. Victor Putznaya 7-6-0

Lightweights hit the cage as Kyle McGee takes on Victor Putznaya. McGee is a dangerous striker who has five KO victories to his name. Putznaya prefers to control the action and score points. Both fighters have sold wrestling, but Putznaya with a purple belt edges out an advantage with BJJ. Expect to see McGee come out swinging looking for a first round KO. He’ll have to really test Putznaya’s chin though, as he’s never been KO’d. Putznaya will try to avoid the strikes, weather the early storm, and look to come back and control the cage while shooting for takedowns and laying down some ground and pound.

145 lbs. David Dunne 6-3-0 v. Deon Fernandez 8-8-0

For our next match, submission specialist Deon Fernandez takes on David Dunne in the featherweight division. Fernandez has won seven of his victories by way of submission, and he’ll look to capitalize on that again over Dunne. He will have to get past Dunne’s purple belt though, as he will put up some serious submission defense having never tapped out and having no desire to start now. In the standup, Fernandez has some great muay thai, but hasn’t used it as he’s really relied on his BJJ in the past. Expect to see a ground battle folks, and be very surprised if it makes it to the 3rd round!

155 lbs. Lam Machin 6-3-0 v. Mia Magoo 5-2-0

Our lightweights are back in the cage as Lam Machin takes on Mia Magoo. Machin is a ground fighter, with solid wrestling and BJJ and three submission victories to his name. Magoo would rather sprawl and brawl, and has three knockouts to his name. The fighters are actually relatively evenly matched, with Machin taking an edge on the ground and Magoo in the standup. Expect to see Machin want to take this fight to the ground, while Magoo will try to stay out of takedown range and connect with some solid punches. Expect to see a knockout or a tapout with this one mates.

205 lbs. Gary Indiana 8-1-0 v. Brutal Rees 8-3-0

In the light heavyweight division, we have Gary Indiana taking on Brutal Rees. Both fighters are very experienced, and very closely matched. The only area with a significant edge one way or the other is in BJJ, where Indiana holds a brown belt over Rees’ blue belt. Indiana looks to win wherever there is an opening; he is a very multi dimensional fighter. Rees on the other hand wants to put everyone who stands against him out cold. Indiana knows this however, so he may look to try and keep this one on the mat. If Rees can connect with one of his punches, this one could be lights out. If Indiana manages to keep it on the ground, he will likely try to keep it there and sink in a submission. This one has fight of the night written all over it.

145 lbs. Tad Ghostal 5-0-0 v. Kid Miller 6-2-0

In our main event of the evening, undefeated Tad Ghostal takes on Kid Miller in the featherweight division.

Kid Miller is a BJJ and submission specialist, winning four of his six victories by way of submission. He has really been working other areas of his game hard recently, and has managed to significantly improve his standup and wrestling. We’ve seen him tapout himself twice in the past, so his camp has been bringing in other grappling specialists to put him in vulnerable positions to work his escapes. He may need them against Ghostal, who has shown well rounded submission skills of his own.

Tad Ghostal is undefeated in his professional MMA career. He has seen the judge’s scorecard only once, and has three knockouts and a submission victory to his credit. His boxing is fantastic, and his wrestling and BJJ are always improving. He is very talented in all areas, as his record has shown. Not content to simply be a one dimensional fighter, Ghostal focuses on all aspects of striking, clinch, and grappling. He doesn’t just want to sprawl and brawl, or just seek a submission, he wants to do it all, and so far, no one has been able to stop him.

Ghostal wants nothing more than to keep his undefeated record alive. Miller is looking to advance his career, and being the one who first stopped Ghostal would surely put him higher in the ranks at a title shot. Either way, both of these fighters will work hard for the victory Sunday night.

That’s all from Sydney for now. Tickets for this Sunday’s event are nearly sold out, don’t miss the opportunity to see another night of fantastic fights from Australia’s premiere MMA organization – Australian Xtreme Fighting!

AXF Friday Night Fights 30 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

Hello everyone, it's time for another week of sensational AXF action! We start the week with AXF Friday Night Fights 30, recieving a rating of 105.61 and held in a near full house Hard Knocks Arena, this week starts up good for the AXF.

Mark Coleman vs Desmond Hume
Desmond Hume received a TKO victory.

Lazarus Slade vs Damingo Santino
Slade choked Santino out with a rear naked choke.

Micheal King vs Tuski Fema
Fema knocked King out to get the win.

Tin Mann vs Mohammad El Sayed
Mohammad El Sayed got the unanimous decision.

Sylvester Hoodoo vs Nic Bravo
Unanimous decision victory for Nic Bravo.

Hank Langston vs Rusty Trombone
This was a full-out brawl, a three rounds slugfest between Langston and Trombone. First round, Trombone outstruck Langston with aggresive striking and also adding a takedown to make sure he get that round. Round two, Langston bounced back, or should I say, Trombone's stamina is hindering his progress. He simply didn't have the cardio to go all three rounds with his amount of aggresiveness and Langston was picking him apart that round. Round three, Langston outworked the tired Trombone easily with his excellent cardio and this is just his time to shine. 29:28 from all judges for the winner, Hank Langston.

Babak Dundee vs Bernard Blake
This one was all Blake. It didn't really matter whether this one is going to the judge's scoreboard or not, Blake has been dominating the entire fight with excellent clinchwork and dirty boxing. Dundee tried to do things from every position, but his success wasn't much and eventually Blake's uppercut from clinch dropped Dundee down and Blake swarmed in with punches to get a TKO win.

Jake Sully vs Donnie Fisher
Sully was owning this one, and this was yet another loopsided fight. Fisher was launching missiles from standup but every missile didn't hit and I mean it, Fisher couldn't land anything and it was Sully that took the fight to the ground again and again and eventually put the ending touch, which was a Guillotine, to get the easy win.

Henry William French vs Michael Scheisse
This was another fight that the standup fighter with clinch won against the fighter with near-zero clinchwork. This phenomenon shows that clinchwork is very important to a fighter, and you will need to adapt this revolution, or lose a lot when fighting top class fighters. Anyway, Scheisse sealed out this fight effortlessly but the judges sounded too harsh to me. This fight was rated 30:26, 30:26 and 30:25. French was doing bad, but I don't think it justify the 10:8 in some rounds, even though the final result was the same thing actually. Scheisse was looking to finish all the fight, and he almost finishes it in round three when he landed a very nice-looking knee on French, but French was able to hold on due to sheer will, so he wasn't a bad fighter in terms of mental strength. Anyway, props to Scheisse for the shut down.

Emilio Ramos vs Jeff Thorn
This was a pretty close fight, impressively close and exciting. Ramos first cut Thorn with a stiff jab at the beginning of round one and also knocked him down to the mat with an uppercut but Thorn was still in, defending on the ground and eventually taking top position. However, he was just too passive on the ground, resulting in a bad round 1 for himself. Round two, it was pretty much a back and forth technique bout, with standup and clinch involved. Thorn did better this time, returning the favor of getting cut with a stiff combo that put the red paint on Ramos's face. However, Ramos's work rate won him that round. Round three, pure standup, back and forth, but Ramos was able to top the round with some outstanding striking, and he recieved a 30:27 unanimous decision victory for his excellent work in the ring.

AXF 32 Review

AXF 32 was simply the better event of the week, getting an event rating of 110.29 and also a full house in Hard Knocks Arena. This event was full of awesome finishes, and the knockouts granted the fans a huge night to remember.

Niisku Neiti vs Gal Dove
Neiti knocked Dove out.

Kacperniuski Demon vs Bingo Bango
Demon puts on a stellar peformance by submitting Bango with a kimura.

Three Dog vs Poopdeck PJ
Poopdeck PJ TKOed Dog on round one.

Captain Caveman vs Alberto Lopez
Lopez took home the "W" with an outstanding TKO victory.

Dale Sinovic vs Xtreme MMA
MMA knocked out Sinovic to get the win.

Kyle McGee vs Victor Putznaya
Let's start with round one, Putznaya stayed standing for a little less than a minute, knowing that he was not on par with McGee, so he tried clinch and also takedowns. Both were effective, but McGee's striking was too much to top on that round. Round 2, Putznaya pilled on the pressure with extended amount of clinch and ground work, adding better striking, that round was his property. Round three, very close, especially when you counts in the fact that Putznaya actually cut McGee with an elbow and also doing a lot, but McGee fought back like a beast, so that round was his. 29:28 by all judges, Kyle McGee the winner of this wholesome fight.

David Dunne vs Deon Fernandez
One reason that Fernandez lost this fight, was the fact that he was going for the ground despite he was actually losing on the ground. Dunne's standup was just as subpar as his, but on the ground, Dunne was the better fighter by tonight's performance. He was very precise with his ground and pound, playing a moderate pace control game from the top, the ground was easily his playground and Fernandez couldn't do much throughout the entire fight, adding the fact that he couldn't stuff a takedown to save his life, this was easily a 30:27 unanimous decision for David Dunne.

Liam Machin vs Mia Magoo
Magoo just wasn't doing enough to top Machin in this fight. On the ground, which was like a lot of the time in this fight, Magoo couldn't do much except improving his position, while Machin was also playing the moderate pace control and pound game, Magoo was just a punching bag on the ground. Besides that, Machin was clever to take the fight to the clinch almost immediately when the referee asked for a standup to minimize the damage taken from Magoo's vicious kicks. Despite a little boring, Machin was able to get a 30:27 unanimous decision victory.

Gary Indiana vs Brutal Rees
Ha! Now to the good one. Co-main event of the night, featuring Gary Indiana and Brutal Rees, both with 8 wins, and a lot to prove. Rees knew Indiana would take the fight to the ground, so he started the round with some fast striking, forcing Indiana to defend instead of actually trying a takedown. It worked as we witnessed one of the most amazing head kick of the night by Rees that put Indiana to the ground almost immediately. That was one heck of a kick, Indiana was forced to stand up and defend but he was still wobble, and probably having blur images around his vision, and that granted Rees a chance to throw a powerful overhand right to drop him for the second time and end this fight, which we saw Rees just leaped onto Indiana and hit him until the referee calls for a stop.

Tad Ghostal vs Kid Miller
Main event of the night, Ghostal vs Miller. Ghostal simply prove that he was just a beast and even a good fight in Miller's calibre couldn't match his striking AT ALL. Ghostal was hitting like almost everyone of his strike while avoiding Miller's attacks like it was a piece of cake. Miller was cut in a short time, as Ghostal put three bombs to his face in rapid succession and then another hook soften Miller's legs up. I thought that was going to be the end of this one, but Miller actually held on and take a lot, I mean...a shit lot of attacks until an uppercut put him to the edge of the cage, which is...the wall and he has no way to go while Ghostal charged in with a ton of attacks to get the win. Awesome display of ownage by Tad Ghostal.

This is it for this week, see you all next time.

G'day Fight Fans and welcome to the official preview for Australian Xtreme Fighting 33!

Aussie MMA is ever improving and it only takes a quick look at the fight card for Sunday's event, and the box office sales, to see exactly why!

We come to you LIVE from the Bondi Outdoor Arena in the greatest state in the country, New South Wales, where our weigh-ins have just completed. Let's take a look now at the fights we have coming up.

Undercard

265 lbs. Ricky Roma 5-3-0 v. Raymond Williams 0-1-0

Our first fight sees Ricky Roma take on Raymond Williams. Roma has exceptional striking skills, but has seen the majority of his wins by decision. Williams looks handy at BJJ, but that seems to be it. His record reflects his one sidedness, and he'll really need to work on the rest of his game to have a shot at this fight.

Prediction: Roma by 2nd Round KO

205 lbs. Mike Milson 7-5-0 v. Johnny Quattro 5-5-1

Light heavyweight action sees Mike Milson taking on Johnny Quattro. A battle of striking versus submission, Milson having the advantage on the feet, and Quattro on the ground. If Milson can keep it standing up, look to see a KO victory here. If Quattro can get him to the ground though and keep position, we could very well be in for a submission.

Prediction: Milson by 1st Round TKO

265 lbs. Zach Morgan 6-4-0 v. Josh Howell 6-3-0

Heavyweights Zach Morgan and Josh Howell square off on our next fight of the evening. Morgan's boxing is excellent and he throws those lunchboxes of hands with ridiculous power. Howell is a more controlled fighter and likes to fight for a decision. He may have a hard time imposing his will over Morgan however, as Morgan has been training his wrestling extensively lately. Howell is on a five fight win streak however, so we will have to see if his confidence can keep him alive through Morgan's stand-up assault.

Prediction: Howell by unanimous decision

205 lbs. Roland McGregor 9-4-0 v. Tirawin Kokin 5-1-0

Next we have another light heavyweight battle as Roland McGregor takes on Tirawin Kokin. With how exhausted Kokin looked at the weigh ins, it's amazing he made weight. He wouldn't even look McGregor in the eye during the stare down – does this guy even want to fight? McGregor comes in off a loss, but with the exception of muay thai, clearly outclasses his opponents in all other areas. With how tired and demoralized Kokin looked, don't expect this fight to last long.

Prediction: McGregor by 1st Round KO

185 lbs. Kenny Ramsey 3-1-0 v. Aragorn Arathorm 5-1-0

Our next fight sees middleweights Kenny Ramsey and Aragorn Arathorm face off. Ramsey has a nice muay thai background, while Arathorm is an accomplished wrestler, with a sick submission game. Ramsey will need to use kicks to keep at a distance and avoid the takedowns, but with Arathorm's strength and speed, that's going to be tough to do. Arathorm will want this fight on the canvas and will look to sink in a quick submission.

Prediction: Arathorm by 2nd round submission

Main Card

265+ lbs. Tom Bombadil 7-3-0 v. Igor Addams 7-4-0

The superheavy weights thunder onto the mat as Tom Bombadil takes on Igor Addams. No surprise for guys this size, both are knockout artists. What is unusual however is that Bombadil has actually looked somewhat adept at BJJ lately – which is generally fairly rare in a guy his size, they just struggle with the necessary flexibility. With Addams hands as powerful as they are, we may even see Bombadil try to get the fight to the ground. Both of these guys could end the fight at any moment, so don't blink or you could miss it.

Prediction: Bombadil by 1st round KO

205 lbs. Jason Glover 6-4-0 v. Willy Sanchez 10-7-0

In the light heavyweight division, Jason Glover takes on Willy Sanchez. Sanchez comes in with a two fight submission victory streak, and Glover can never count out how dangerous Sanchez's submissions are, finishing eight of his opponents by way of submission. To Glover's credit, he counts four knockouts to his name and has really improved his striking lately. His BJJ is outclassed by Sanchez, but we've seen him not hesitate to take the fight to the canvas in the past. This should be a very interesting matchup.

Prediction: Sanchez by 3rd round submission

145 lbs. Joe Foe 9-5-0 v. Jesse James 5-3-0

The featherweights make their way to the cage as Joe Foe takes on Jesse James. With the title fight directly after theirs, these guys will be under some serious pressure to put on a good match if they want to put themselves in the running to take on the winner of Malking v. King. Here we have two excellent ground fighters, both of them constantly looking for a joint to manipulate or a throat to squeeze. At the same time, Foe's striking game is vastly superior to James, so we may see him try to work that and add something new to his arsenal. This is a very tough fight to call, as on the mat it could really go either way. Standing the advantage is to For, but the question will be, what is Foe's gameplan?

Prediction: Foe by unanimous decision

145 lbs. Geronimo Malkind 7-2-0 v. Harrison King 7-2-0 – 145 lbs. Title Match

Our co-main event of the evening sees the featherweight title on the line as Geronimo Malkind defends his belt against Harrison King.

Malkind comes in to this fight on an insane four fight win streak, winning his last fight by way of a vicious kimura to take the belt. This is his first title defense, and as the cliche always goes, it's easier to get the title than to keep it. His striking has been improving lately, but he tends to always fall back on his BJJ game. He has a hell of a challenger ahead of him, and his corner will need to try and read his opponent well to keep the champion in the best position to hold onto that belt.

A four fight win streak is insane? How about a five fight win streak – two of which didn't even make it out of the first round. King has looked absolutely unstoppable lately. Leave your chin out? He puts you to sleep. Leave a limb hanging, he breaks the joint. Can't seem to manage to finish you? No problem, he controls you completely and rakes in the points. He is a serious contender to the champion's belt. He looked absolutely pumped a the weigh ins, and in outstanding shape. He is really ready for this fight, and he needs to be to take down the champion.

Prediction: King by unanimous decision

265 lbs. Silver Boo 7-0-0 v. Stuey Ungar 9-3-0 – 265 lbs. Title Match

The heavyweight title is on the line as undefeated champion Silver Boo takes on Stuey Ungar in our main event of the evening!

The challenger Ungar has some serious power in his striking. The ringside doctor may need to check that he doesn't have brass knuckles secretly installed underneath his skin. His muay thai has really improved and he has a solid wrestling base. Having won seven of his professional fights by way of knockout, it's no surprise what he comes to do. He looked gigantic at the weigh ins, and he'll need every bit of that strength to handle the champion. The champion's chin has yet to be tested, will Ungar be the one to do it?

Our heavyweight champion is undefeated in his MMA record, and has already defended his title an incredible three times in a row. Two of those fights have seen the fifth round, so the champion knows what it takes to tread that deep water. His hands are dangerous, his wrestling is dangerous, and he's even worked on his BJJ lately. With an undefeated streak comes serious confidence, but also some serious jitters, as he'll be under tremendous pressure to keep the streak alive.

This one is going to be incredible folks. It could end in a heartbeat, or it could be 25 minutes of back and forth action. This fight alone will be worth the cost of admission!

Prediction: Boo by 3rd Round TKO

That's all for this preview fight fans. Tickets are nearly sold out, get one while you can!

AXF 33 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

AXF 33 is simply historic, with the event rating of 148.79, which is the highest in AXF history, this card bounced AXF up to #3 in Sydney and #27 in the world. The Bondi Outdoor Arena was almost full tonight, statistic shows that there are 5,218 fans inside the arena for the most epic show to date of AXF.

Ricky Roma vs Raymond Williams
Ricky Roma put Williams to sleep with good striking.

Mike Milson vs Johnny Quattro
Mike Milson won by TKO.

Zach Morgan vs Josh Howell
Morgan sliced the skin of Howell off too much that he won by TKO(Cut).

Roland McGregor vs Tirawin Kokin
Roland McGregor continued the amount of TKO finish on the card with yet another TKO.

Kenny Ramsey vs Aragorn Arathorm
Aragorn Arathorm won by unanimous decision.

Tom Bombadil vs Igor Addams
The key to the fight was groundwork and Addams actually surprised me by his decision to go to the ground instead of just box like he always did and the surprises kept on coming. I would never believe that Addams was so much better than Bombadil on the ground if it isn't this fight. Bombadil was taking a lot of shots and couldn't defend enough or even advance his position. In the end, it was just too much for him to handle and he tapout of the strikes.

Jason Glover vs Willy Sanchez
This was one good fight. Glover was doing great in the standup department, which Sanchez has no answer for. However, he was good at taking people down and so there goes Glover to the mat. A direct takedown to mount but Glover quickly dragged himself back to half guard. Glover was like a snake, easily escaped the ground, hit Sanchez hard on the standup and then took Sanchez down to the ground to get the first round. Sanchez bounced back on the secound round though, giving Glover a payback of his own, takedowns were all his and his GnP was just lethal. Round three, Glover defended well against takedowns as he was well-aware of them, he eventually couldn't avoid every attempt and so Sanchez took him down after eating a lot of punches. Glover bounced back up, and took Sanchez down later, a replay of round one. Glover stood later, just to take Sanchez down again and GnP his way to the victory. 29:28, Jason Glover won the fight.

Joe Foe vs Jesse James
Wow, this one was simply holy shit! James was like...a training partner for Foe and was instructed to not hit back for the entire fight. He was not doing much while Foe was landing takedowns after takedowns and pounding James real hard on the ground while also attempting a lot of submissions, though no submission landed for him. James, however, took Foe by surprise just a minute short of a decision victory for Foe. It was a risky move but James has no choice, he took top position a while later and then knowing the time was running out, drop back for a kneebar. Foe went for the same move but James was just faster, giving him a huge victory and comeback of the year!

Geronimo Malkind vs Harrison King
Now, onward to the co-main event. A fight between two fighters with identical record of 7-2. The champion Malkind was looking for his first title defense while King was given his first opporturnity for the gold. Malkind went in strong, knocked King down briefly from the beginning and he followed. King's groundwork was surprisingly good though, and that rendered Malkind's ground game useless. King was doing better on the standup but Malkind was again and again taking the fight to the ground to maintain his dominance for round 1, that round should be his. Round two, was like a inverse of round one, Malkind couldn't land any takedown and his boxing was just not as good as King's. King pressed on and we could see Malkind's legs starting to give up after two minutes. Another 90 seconds later, Malkind was sent down by a huge shot of King and King decided to not follow. A second later, he took Malkind down...he might as well follow just now, but whatever...he pressed on with the pressure and Malkind was done for, not even the best chin in the world could save him and it was all over, King was the new king of the featherweight division!

Silver Boo vs Stuey Ungar
For the main event of the night, we have undefeated Boo defending his title the 3rd time against Ungar. Well, not much could be said for this one, Ungar was simply not on par with Boo at all, Boo was avoiding every strike and hitting almost every strike of his own. Ungar was cut, rocked and down in just one minute. I love the combination of Boo, a very powerful 3 punches combo put Ungar nearly out and then a powerful uppercut made him falls backward. He was real tough and Boo was forced to pursuit and hit him for the referee to stop it. Well, Boo showed that he was a true champion with a 1 minute knockout!

Wow, this card is simply amazing, full of finishes and exciting bout. Will next week's event be this good? I am interested to know, so until then, good bye.

AXF 34 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

AXF 34 continue the groundbreaking action of AXF, as it made AXF breaks into the top 20 org in the world and also now at the top 2 position in Sydney. To be precise, we are at #19 after the event. The rating is freaking high too, 151.54 and there's more than 5,400 fans inside the arena for the night. I honestly don't think I should spend more time on talking trash, so let's go straight into the fights:

Rory Owen vs Mwai Kibaki
Owen TKOed Kibaki in just one minute.

Mark Markus vs Joseph Cortez
Markus pulled out an armbar to force Cortez tap out.

Wanderlei Rua vs Tank Abrahms
Abrahms kicked ass with a 17 seconds knockout.

Doctor Baldacchino vs Kirill Dostoevsky
Kirill Dostoevsky got the unanimous decision.

Jack Napier vs Anaal Robby
Napier pulled out a 49 seconds TKO.

Percival Pickervance vs Silla Kim
A one good fight to start up the main card of the evening, kim started round 1 with some exciting trading with Pickervance, who late found himself getting knocked down by a left-right combo of Kim. Kim followed into the mount and poured more unforgiven punches into the blooded face of Pickervance. Pickervance was in an entire world of trouble, but he managed to actually hold on with great heart. Kim wanted to submit him later but Pickervance was too slippery for anything to work. That round ended on the ground. Round 2, Kim changed his strategy to takedown instead of stand and trade but he didn't manage to bring the fight to the ground and stay there until the second half of the round. Pickervance was doing better in the standup this round but Kim was doing okay too, plus his takedown, he got the round too. Round three, Pickervance was desperately looking for a knockout, going hard at Kim for at least 3 minutes until Kim eventually took him down, cooled him off and sealed his fate. Pickervance has the last round in his hand, but it was still a 29:28 for the winner, Silla Kim.

Mikko Rourke vs Rocky Cobra
Cobra wasn't doing much in this fight. Rourke, on the other hand, was mixing things up in standup and clinch just to take CObra down. It was qutie effective actually, especially against a do-nothing Cobra. Rourke wasn't able to finish Cobra at the first round, but he sure hurt him. Second round, Rourke clinched up and went for a quick pull guard while locking Cobra's arm up. Cobra wanted to escape but he really isn't a real cobra, he was not that slippery at all thus he couldn't escape his fate of tapping out of a triangle armbar.

Les Norton vs Will Wilde
Wilde actually failed to make weight and he was forced to go to the sauna and he looked exhausted to start the fight. Norton didn't wait for whatever, he came in hard and strong, landing two punches and that's all, one cross to Wilde's face and then the other one was a monster hook and BOOM! HEAD SHOT! Wilde went down just that easily.

Shizuka Uesugi vs Joe Slow
Slow started the first round with a good overhand right that cut Uesugi, Uesugi fought back with a takedown and it was all ground game. Uesugi was looking for submission aggresively all round long, but he wasn't getting anything done. Well, a boring first round and the judges gave it to Slow, mostly due to his strike to the head of Uesugi and his sprawling to Uesugi's takedowns. Uesugi didn't care about that, went for another takedown on round 2 and he got it. Standup and another takedown, that's how Uesugi rolls. After like 3 minutes of ground game, the referee stood them up and Uesugi actually hit more than Slow this round. Slow threw a lot but nothing seemed to hit Uesugi. Round 3, Uesugi again went for the takedown and get it. The referee waited for like 3 minutes before standing them up and Uesugi took Slow down once more time, sealing that last round in his favor. Final score, 29:28 for Uesugi, clever game plan.

John L Sullivan IV vs Bob Stroker
Yet another title defense for JLS, this time against a striker with the record of 13-1. JLS came in hard with a nice right hand and blood was starting to flow out of Stroker's body. It was pure standup, and JLS was pretty aggresive there and he was actually hitting a good amount of them, his percentage was certainly higher than Stroker, who didn't really land that much. JLS was a clever fighter, aiming at the cut anytime he could and it seemed that cut was really really bad just after one round. Before round 2, the doctor went in to check on the cut and warned Stroker to be careful. Well, you must be careful, but how you could do that against the punching speed and technique of JLS? They were like homing missiles that can dodge your defensive barrier and BOOM! After another powerful swing near the cut position, the doctor paused the fight to check on Stroker and it was all over, TKO by cut, another win to John L Sullivan IV!

I seriously wonder whether AXF 35 can top this or not. We will see, until then, good bye!

G'day fight fans! Tonight we have previews for you for our two exciting upcoming events: Friday Night Fights 31, and Australian Xtreme Fighting 35!

This looks to be a stellar weekend for fans throughout Australia, as we have two world class events back to back!

AXF Friday Night Fights 31 Preview

Undercard

185 lbs. Richie Yang 4-4-0 v. Tristan Galahad 2-3-0

155 lbs. Yogi Bear 4-2-0 v. Iqbal Al Mamood 4-3-0

145 lbs. Josiah Scurlock 4-3-0 v. Mikail Barasshole 0-1-0

135 lbs. Stuart Wray 11-7-1 v. Wacko Warner 8-7-0

185 lbs. Gijs Groosman 6-6-0 v. Daton Everlast 4-2-0

Main Card

205 lbs. Jason Penl 4-3-0 v. Rocco Carter 6-4-0

Our first main card fight of the evening sees Jason Penl take on Rocco Carter in the light heavyweight division. Both of these fighters are fairly well rounded, and both have knockout and submission victories under their belt. They both come in off of victories in their last fight, and they'll be looking to keep that winning streak alive. The difference could be in the kicks, where Carter has shown improvements in his muay thai as of late. If he can keep rage with effective kicks, he may be able to edge out an advantage in this fight.

135 lbs. Chuck O'Brian 3-2-0 v. Rob Roy 6-2-0

The bantamweights take to the cage next as Chuck O'Brian takes on Rob Roy. O'Brian is a very heavy handed striker, earning all three of his victories by way of knockout. Roy on the other hand is a submission ace, winning all six of his victories by way of submission. In a classic matchup of striker v. submission fighter, the key will be where the fight takes place. Either way, we know this fight isn't likely to go the distance.

170 lbs. Michael Kelso 8-4-0 v. James Rhodes 7-2-1

In the welterweight division, Michael Kelso takes on James Rhodes. Here we have two very evenly matched fighters, both with very similar records. They key here will likely come down to cage control as well as effective countering. With such similar styles and records, expect both fighters to be looking to counter each other. With the KOs to both of their names, there's no question this fight could end fast. Look for both fighters to be reserved and look for a solid counter strike to end this fight.

265 lbs. Ken Banners 5-0-0 v. Andrus Orlhovki 7-2-0

The heavyweights are up next as Ken Banners takes on Andrus Orlhovki. Every now and then a guy comes along who just has to touch you to put you unconscious. Banners is one such man. With an undefeated record, and all of his fights ending in a knockout, we all know what to expect from Banners. The question is, can Orlhovki, who has a much more diverse record and skill set, effectively deal with Banners' hands and aggression. If he can weather the storm, we might have a fight on our hands. If not, be ready for a devastating knockout.

155 lbs. Markku Osteri 11-6-0 v. Mark Scylla 6-2-0

Our main event sees Markku Osteri take on Mark Scylla in the lightweight division. Osteri has a great amount of professional experience, having entered the cage seventeen times now. With most of his victories by way of knockout or submission, Osteri has been a fighter the fans always enjoy seeing in the cage. Scylla has recorded a string of excellent knockouts, but comes into this fight off a nasty first round knockout loss in his last match. Osteri will look to use his experience to get an edge over Scylla, but if Scylla can reach out and test Osteri's jaw, this will be a very interesting fight. Either way, expect this one to be a real contender for fight of the night.

AXF 35 Preview

Our ultra-stacked AXF 35 takes place this Saturday night at the Hard Knocks Arena here in Sydney, and we anticipate a sold out crowd of 3,000 fans in attendance. Two titles are on the line tonight, and this is sure to be one for the history books!

Undercard

205 lbs. Johnny Triad v. Will Henderson

135 lbs. Ben Avit v. Raul Sanchez

185 lbs. Pad Digger v. Brett Yelton

170 lbs. Thiago Alves v. Tristan Tanghe

155 lbs. Mr Fists v. Barry Scott

Main Card

265 lbs. Xxtreme MMA 9-5-0 v. Max Milson 7-3-0

In the heavyweight division, Xxtreme MMA takes on Max Milson. We have a very, very close matchup with these two fighters. Their records as well as their skillset read nearly identical. The key here will likely be who wants it more – as both fighters are coming in off of losses in their last fight. While both fighters have earned knockout and submission victories, the majority have come by way of decision, and with both trying to get back to a winning record, expect this to be a highly technical fight with both fighters looking to control and score points.

135 lbs. William Bonney 9-7-0 v. Paul Cicero 5-1-0

In the bantamweight division, William Bonney takes on Paul Cicero. On paper, Cicero seems to have the advantage. What paper can't account for however is heart, and experience, both of which Bonney seems to have plenty of. Bonney has had excellent submissions in previous fights, but he'll need to be careful going to the ground with Cicero, who has a black belt in BJJ himself. Cicero will likely be content to see where the fight takes him, as he is well rounded and has the skills to handle this fight wherever it goes. Look to see Bonney try to counter and respond to Cicero, while Cicero is likely to seriously press the action.

265 lbs. Prince Adam 5-3-0 v. Baldur Eirikur 8-4-0

Back to the heavyweight division, we have Prince Adam taking on Baldur Eirikur. Here we have another classic matchup of submission expert versus striker, with Adam showing very dangerous ground game and Eirikur owning two very, very heavy hands. As with any matchup like this, it will ultimately likely come down to where the fight goes. On the ground, we have to expect Adam to pull off a submission. Standing, it would seem Eirikur would have an advantage, although Adam's striking is no joke himself. This will be a very interesting fight to see play out.

265+ lbs. Title Fight Jimbo Spice 4-0-0 v. Patrick Stettin 8-2-0

In the superheavyweight division we have Patrick Stettin defending his title against undefeated challenger Jimbo Spice.

The challenger comes in looking to keep his undefeated streak alive and grab a hold of Stettin's belt. This won't be a walk in the park though, and he'll have to really push his knockout power to get through the champion. The pressure will surely be on him as he has to not only defend his undefeated record, but also take the champion's belt away. Hopefully his corner has psyched him up and prepared him to deal with the adrenaline dump that's sure to come once he walks out to the cage. The champion is a well rounded fighter, with an excellent background in wrestling. We have seen him dominate previous opponents with excellent takedowns, and has managed to secure knockouts, submissions, and decisions in his past fights. As the cliche always goes though, it's harder to keep the title than to win it, and he'll have a serious challenge to do just that in Spice.

155 lbs. Title Fight Aitch Bubbles 8-0-0 v. Jake Walker 6-0-0

Our second title fight of the evening sees the champion Aitch Bubbles defend his lightweight belt against Jake Walker.

Not only is this a solid fight between two undefeated competitors, but it's also for a title. How often do two undefeated guys face off? How often do they face off for a title? This will be one hell of a fight.

In the standup department, Bubbles would appear to have an advantage. On the ground, Walker has a higher belt in BJJ, but of course that doesn't mean everything. The pressure is really on both of these fighters to not only perform, but also to win. One of them is losing that undefeated record, and neither of them wants it to be him. The pressure might be on Bubbles more, as he has a title to keep as well, but either way, both of these fighters have got to be in top mental shape for this one or else the pressure could crack them.

One way or another, someone will be champion, and someone will have a "1" next to their loss category. With so much on the line, this could be a slow and calculated matchup, but something tells me both of these fighters want to win decisively.

That's it for this round of previews fight fans. Cancel your plans, get your tickets, and get ready for one phenomenal weekend of Australian Xtreme Fighting!

AXF Friday Night Fights 31 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

We are back in action, and this week contains two events so we will start with Friday Nights Fight 31. This event is 111.48 and is hosted in an near-soldout Hard Knocks Arena. The fights, no doubt, are high quality so let's get going.

Richie Yang vs Tristan Galahad
Tristan Galahad won by unanimous decision.

Yogi Bear vs Iqbal Al Mamood
Yogi Bear won by unanimous decision.

Josiah Scurlock vs Mikail Barasshole
Josiah Scurlock forced his opponent to tap out from his amazing strikes.

Stuart Wray vs Wacko Warner
Stuart Wray won by unanimous decision.

Gijs Groosman vs Daton Everlast
Gijs Groosman connected with an armbar to win the fight.

Jason Penl vs Rocco Carter
Both fighters started the match with some wild standup trading. Both fighters were cut within the first minute and the crowd loved that. Penl's trading was just a cover-up for his takedown and whenever Carter did a mistake or two, he capatilized. Carter survived the period of the first takedown to the referee standup but he couldn't survive the second wave of ground game. A little GnP and then moving into side control, grabbed one arm of Carter and crank! There goes the match with a kimura finish.

Chuck O Brian vs Rob Roy
Oh man, Brian landed a very stiff jab on the nose of Roy to start the battle up. After a few more hits and when Brian realized he couldn't finish Roy in the standup, he took Roy down. Roy stood up later and took Brian down but not much was happening. Brian took Roy down for the second time later and worked on some GnP to end the first round. Round two, Roy countered a takedown with a takedown and went in with the kill. One thing that Roy did good was position improvement and he used that to his advantage, waiting for the chance and when he has it, he locked in a tight americana to end the battle.

Michael Kelso vs James Rhodes
What to say here, Rhodes displayed better standup and also the takedown ability to seal the deal. Kelson was very aggresively in the standup(and the ground too) but his accuracy was just...low. Additionally, it's not like his punches were bothering Rhodes at all, no knockdown whatsoever, rendering his chance to win almost zero. Rhodes was clever at setting up his pace, whenever he was tired, he took the fight to the ground, resting and defending against occasional submission moves of Kelso. This clever tactic provided him enough to win a 30:26 decision.

Ken Banners vs Andrus Orlhovki
Man, talking of the most epic standup battle, this was it! Banners started up very strong and basically giving Orlhovki everything he got in the first five minutes. However, Orlhovki's chin was simply too good to be destroyed by the fists of merely human. Round 2, Banners was starting to slow down and Orlhovki paid back with his own punches. That round was pretty close but Orlhovki's work rate was getting the nod of the judges. Round three, Orlhovki has the cardio and technique but not the knockout power. Still, he was able to outwork Banners that round and easily took that round under his belt. A 29:28 decision win for Andrus Orlhovki.

Markku Osteri vs Mark Scylla
I love AXF main events because there's always a finish, like most of the time and this one is no exception. Osteri put Scylla to the ground with a beautiful takedown in the beginning and quickly took the side control position. he was hitting but not that much so the referee stood them up. Well, this referee hates ground in my opinion. Osteri was desperately though and he took Scylla down again as soon as Scylla missed with his combination and he quickly moved into the mount and that was a very dominating position for a GnPer like him. Scylla has no answer of the strikes that Osteri was throwing like crazy there and the referee was forced to stop the fight not much later. Stellar GnP performance!

AXF 35 Review

AXF 35 continued this week's AXF action with a score of 115.42 on the rating. Hard Knocks Arena was full house for this saturday night and I believe the crowd wouldn't regret coming to this show. Hey, this was one of the most awesome show judging by the finishes. Let's just get into the fights right now.

Johnny Triad vs Will Henderson

Johnny Triad got the TKO win after four minutes of battle.

Ben Avit vs Raul Sanchez
Ben Avit won by unanimous decision.

Pad Digger vs Brett Yelton
Brett Yelton put an end to the fight with a guillotine in 4:51 of round 2.

Thiago Alves vs Tristan Tanghe
Thiago Alves ended the fight with some huge punches, getting the KO win.

Mr Fists vs Barry Scott
Barry Scott won by unanimous decision.

Xxtreme MMA vs Max Milson
MMA cut Milson with a left to start the first round and he did quite good in the standup despite Milson dodging quite well there. In the middle of the round, Milson took MMA down to the ground and it was a very nicely done takedown in my opinion. Milson controlled MMA throughout the remaining time while landing some effective shots to close up that round. Well, the judges gave that round to Milson. Hmm...I am not sure, maybe Milson was doing things most of the time, like kicking for the first half of the round and takedown and GnP for the second half while MMA was doing much on the bottom there. Round 2, MMA was well-aware of Milson's strategy and he was trying to stand up everytime he could. His striking was having the same quality this round and so he was doing okay there until Milson drove him to the ground another time and laid there to waste some time. Well, the judges were tired of Milson, so that round was MMA's. Round 3, Milson just didn't give a shit, he just kept taking MMA down whenever he found an opening and three takedowns plus controlling and aggression enabled him to win that round. 29:28 decision win for Max Milson.

William H Bonney vs Paul Cicero
Bonney started this match with some crazy clinch attempts until Cicero was tired of it and dragged him to the floor. Well, it was part of Bonney's plan to go to the floor and so he was happily staying bottom and trying to submit Cicero. Cicero was busy defending the submission attempts all over that round and the five minutes passed just like that. Round 2, Cicero knew he should just stand and brawl and he did. That was the correct game plan for him in this fight, Bonney couldn't really defend much against his blow and the damage he took eventually accumulated up to a point that his body starting to give up. At the 2:22 of round 2 - man, the time was so cool, sounds a bit like 666 - Bonney looked at the clock to check out how much time left he was going to suffer and Cicero came in and ended all the suffering with a right hand from hell. Cicero followed up and just punches and elbows his way to victory easily.

Prince Adam vs Baldur Eirikur
Adam was having the correct game plan into this fight, taking Eirikur down and trying to score a submission. However, it was easier said than done, Eirikur was defending very well on the ground and he was dominating Adam in the standup aspect. Adam's ability to bounce back up from a takedown also helped him there. Adam locked a clinch up later and he was actually stupid to break it. If he didn't break it, this would be longer but the fact is that, he broke it and Eirikur continued with his assault, more and more and even more when the time was closing up and Adam couldn't hold just six seconds more, he was out after a lot of strikes at 4:54 of round 1.

Jimbo Spice vs Patrick Stettin
Wow, Spice was undefeated into the fight, and he was rendered useless by Stettin? Damn, Stettin was just too good and that's why he's the super heavyweight champion of AXF. Stettin's takedown was just too good, 6 out of 6 and I am impressed of Spice, holding on for quite some time before his body gave up on round 4. Spice wasn't landing anything in the standup to my surprise and Stettin pretty much outclassed him by hitting every strikes on the standup, took him down and hitting like 70% of his GnP attempts. Well, this one was just a showcase of Stettin's skill.

Aitch Bubbles vs Jake Walker
The undefeated champion against the undefeated challenger and the result? Again, a champion domination. Bubbles was outclassing an impressive 6-0 dude in this fight. Walker did land something though, but not much and Bubbles was landing a freaking high percentage of his shots. Walker was trying hard to hold on to the end of that round and try to figure out another strategy in his corner but his dream remained a dream because less than one minute before the end of that round, Bubbles crushed him with a very beautiful uppercut. Walker did try to recover and hold on but Bubbles was pushing forward at a pace he couldn't hold on and that's the end for the main event of the night!

This is it for this week, see you all next time.

G’day fight fans. This preview is live once again from the fabulous Bondi Outdoor Arena here in wonderful Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.

Tonight’s preview is for tomorrow’s event, Australian Xtreme Fighting 36, featuring our main event of the evening, where welterweight champion Nai Khanom Tom puts his belt on the line against dangerous challenger Cedric Daniels. Tickets are nearly sold out, so get down to the box office now before you miss out!

Preliminary Card

170 lbs. Big Brawler 2-0-0 v. Takeshi Yuudai 2-0-0

185 lbs. Kevin Curtain 4-2-0 v. Uncle Sam 2-1-0

265+ lbs. Halbert Gomes 3-2-0 v. Bonnel Balingit 3-0-0

170 lbs Caleb Reimer 10-3-0 v. Pauli Painija 4-2-0

155 lbs. William Magahin 5-1-0 v. Whizzer Oz 11-6-0

Main Card

205 lbs. Hansa Rachstakk 8-4-0 v. Thomas Pusher 9-5-0

Our first main card fight of the evening sees Hansa Rachstakk and Thomas Pusher square off the light heavyweight division. We have a very evenly matched fight between those two competitors, with a slight edge in the ground game going to Rachstakk. Rachstakk has earned each of his professional victories by way of submission, so he’s going to be a handful for Pusher if this fight ends up on the ground. To Pusher’s credit, he has five knockouts to his name, so if he can catch Rachstakk, this one could end quick. Look for an exciting finish, be in a tapout or a KO.

185 lbs. Cleveland Crosby 9-6-0 v. Matt Silva 12-4-0

In the middleweight division, we have Cleveland Crosby taking on Matt Silva. A dangerous knockout artist, Cleveland Crosby has seven KO victories in his highlight reel. Silva is a more controlled point fighter, but he has scored three knockouts himself. Both fighters skills are remarkably well rounded and nearly mirror each other. Expect to see Crosby take the fight to Silva, while Silva looks to counter and possibly score some takedowns. With two so closely matched fighters, this fight is bound to be exciting.

170 lbs. Perrin Jones 10-7-0 v. Longfellow Deeds 6-2-0

In the welterweight division Perrin Jones takes on Longfellow Deeds. Here we have an interesting matchup pitting two dangerous submission fighters against one and other. Each fighter has won the majority of their bouts by way of tapout, but to Jones’ credit he has scored three knockouts as well. That could make the difference in this fight as Jones’ standup has looked superior to Deeds in his last few fights. Look to see Jones try to work his hands and defend takedowns, while Deeds tries to put him on his back. If this ends up on the ground, expect a highly technical display of BJJ.

185 lbs. Arnaud Savage 6-1-0 v. Chuck F. Tito 7-1-0

In the middleweight division Arnaud Savage takes on Chuck F. Tito. Heavy handed Tito has sent five of his last opponents to sleep. Savage on the other hand is a more varied fighter, and has had his hand raised for knockouts, submissions, and decisions. Neither fighter is yet to be knocked out in their professional careers, but you can safely guess they’d both like to be the first to knock the other out! Expect this fight to be a real brawl – neither of these guys likes to go to a decision. Tito’s boxing is nasty, but Savage may be able to counter it and keep range with his muay thai. If the fight ends up on the ground, Savage may edge out an advantage with his BJJ. This fight is bound to be exciting, and is a real contender for fight of the night.

170 lbs. Welterweight Champion Nai Khanom Tom 13-6-0 v. Challenger Cedric Daniels 6-0-0

Our main event of the evening sees undefeated champion Nai Khanom Tom put his welterweight belt on the line against dangerous challenger Cedric Daniels.

Daniels has looked very dangerous in his fights, with a fine collection of knockout victories, and some serious decision wins where he was able to smother his opponent with world class wrestling. He will have some very serious competition in the challenger though.

Undefeated champion Nai Khanom Tom has looked unstoppable in his fights, winning three by way of knockout and three by way of decision. Originally a muay thai fighter, Tom has worked hard and really increased his skill in all other aspects of MMA. He has been very hard to hold on to, and has shown he can really take a punch.

Will the champion hold onto not only his belt but also his undefeated record, or will Daniels be able to do what no other fighter has, and strip Tom of that AXF gold?

Tune in tomorrow night to find out! This will prove to be one of the best cards AXF has held yet, so don’t miss out!

AXF 36 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

AXF 36 is simply decent and the event rating is back to the elite rate with 143.05. The attendance was doing good as well, with 5,568 fans watching the event live in Bondi Outdoor Arena.

Big Brawler vs Takeshi Yuudai
Takeshi Yuudai submitted Big Brawler with a rear naked choke.

Kevin Curtain vs Uncle Sam
Kevin Curtain locked a kimura on Sam to end the battle.

Halbert Gomes vs Bonnel Balingit
Halbert Gomes cut Balingit very heavily under 1 round to end the fight quickly with a TKO.

Caleb Reimer vs Pauli Painija
Caleb Reimer won by unanimous decision.

William Magahin vs Whizzer Oz
William Magahin knocked Oz out with vicious punches.

Hansa Rachstakk vs Thomas Pusher
The first minute was plain ugly for Rachstakk. He wasn't landing any of his punches at all and at the same time, Pusher was delivering some great punches and leg kicks toward him. However, Pusher's couldn't hold on under the pressure of avoiding takedowns while striking as well, giving Rachstakk a perfect opening just one minute into the fight and Rachstakk tipped Pusher's legs and took side control on top of Pusher. It was pretty much Rachstakk's game after that, uitlizing his BJJ skills to overcome Pusher. The referee allowed the ground game to continue and Pusher's defense just wasn't good enough to hold for 4 minutes on the ground. As a result, Rachstakk got an arm in position and cranked it hard with an armbar to make Pusher tapped out of the fight. Winner: Thomas Pusher(Sub:Armbar)

Cleveland Crosby vs Matt Silva
Round 1 was an intensive round for both fighters, who traded for at least three minutes of round 1. The other 2 minutes was slow-paced ground battle that happened as soon as Silva took Crosby down with a single leg at the late of 2nd minute. The judges were leaning to Crosby's side that round. Round 2, Silva proved that his cardio was better than Crosby as he continue to go on with his offense without really stopping down at any moment. Silva also took Crosby down on the ground to make sure that round was his round and the judges agreed. Round 3, both were desperate but it's quite obvious that Silva was highly aggressive and it's pretty hard to deal with his amount of offense. Crosby did his best but as soon as he was rocked by a combination, he started to fade out. Silva pressed on and eventually Silva's machine gun was able to put Crosby to the ground and the referee has to step in and end it. Winner: Matt Silva(TKO:Strikes)

Perrin Jones vs Longfellow Deeds
Round 1 was a ground-oriented battle. First, Deeds came in with a takedown and started up his aggressive ground game until the referee stood them up because he was unable to really hit much. Jones quickly paid Deeds back with a takedown of his own but Jones was more of a lay'n'pray guy so it was boring to see him on top. Close round but judges gave it to Jones. Round 2, Jones hit some standup attacks and went into clinch but it wasn't a long time in clinch before the referee splitted them up. After some extra trading, which Jones has the advantage with his excellent technique, he decided to just take Deeds down for reason I couldn't think of. Deeds didn't care about his position on the ground, as soon as he was down, he started to work on his opponent. Sadly, he wasn't doing very good in his submission game so far. Round 3, Jones gave Deeds a world of trouble with his excellent standup and Deeds was just too tired to take Jones down this round. After some struggling, Deeds finally took Jones down just before the beginning of the 4th minute, but 2 minutes just wasn't enough for Deeds to do something positive and so the last round was also Jones. Final score, 30:27 to the winner, Perrin Jones. Winner: Perrin Jones(UD)

Arnaud Savage vs Chuck Fuck Tito
Round 1, both fighters were playing the stalking game. Savage wanted a takedown while CFT was being very careful in picking his shots to prevent a takedown. The end result was a slow-paced standup trading and in the end, CFT was able to keep that round on his feet at all time so that was his round for sure. Round 2, Savage seemed like he was going to lose this bout for not doing much in the standup but well, his hope came as soon as he was able to take CFT down for the first time, with a double leg takedown, and he started to work on CFT on the ground. However, the ground game was as slow as the standup so there really wasn't enough time for Savage to do much, especially to a well-defended CFT. Round 3, CFT was doing very good despite being cut by Savage as soon as they went into the clinch. CFT's dirty boxing was on par with Savage's clinchwork so it was okay to be in the clinch with Savage. Then, at almost the same exact time as round 2, Savage put CFT down once again and I saw a kneebar almost locked in there. CFT barely escaped but he was agile enough to take side control and just laid there to end the fight. Final score, 30:27. Winner: Chuck Fuck Tito(UD)

Cedric Daniels vs Nai Khanom Tom
Man, oh man. NKT was simply one of the best fighterd in the history of AXF. He was pretty dominant in his performance inside the cage and tonight was no exception. His muay thai was world class and Daniels was having a hard time landing pretty much anything on him, especially kicks. NKT was blocking and avoiding kicks like he were taking kicks 1000 times a day and Daniels's was a piece of cake. At the same time, he softened Daniels up with leg kicks and just hit him hard on the head with his fists. A little bit of clinchwork was also displayed in the 1st round, and NKT was punching the hell out of Daniels at that time. The fight went to round 2 but the performance was just similar to round 1, with NKT gettign the better all of the time. Daniels could take a punch or two, but NKT's amount of offense was just too much for Daniels. Daniels was rocked by a straight right and the next left hook took the fight out of him as that one put him on the ground. The referee rushed in to stop the fight and NKT retaned his WW title without a doubt. Winner: Nai Khanom Tom(TKO:Strikes)

Next week, we have two events and what does it means to me? Awesome week! Until then, see you all in Hell(given any chance).

AXF 37 Review

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v96/Goliath764/MrEvilness.jpg

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

Hello there, fight fans. It's that time of the week again, it's the time to take a look at this week's AXF action. AXF 37 provides the 3,000 live crowd with awesome KO actions that granted the event a 130.27 in rating. The event was not boring at all, with some high-paced action throughout the night.

Josh Howell vs Raymond Williams
Josh Howell won by unanimous decision.

Sylvester Hoodoo vs Micheal King

Syelvester Hoodoo won by unanimous decision.

Desmond Hume vs Babak Dundee

Desmond Hume won by letting his opponent's blood ran out through multiple cuts.

Yuri Sarbinov vs Lazarus Slade
Yuri Sarbinov won by unanimous decision.

John The Butcher vs Poopdeck PJ
John The Butcher butched PJ with a vicious combination of power and speed.

Jimmy Sikblood vs Alberto Lopez
Despite they looked quite similar on paper, Sikblood was afraid of stand and bang with Lopez, who indeed displayed excellent striking throughout the match. Lopez's boxing was crispy sharp and they hit their target like holming missiles and Sikblood really failed in defending against those missiles that were able to find his body wherever he moved to. Sikblood was desperate to take Lopez down throughout the entire time but he failed as Lopez was clearly not bad in terms of balance and takedown defense. Sikblood was forced to trade with Lopez out of desperation and Lopez easily sealed the deal by a brutal combination that ends with a ultra powerful jawbreaker - B.R.U.T.A.L! Winner: Alberto Lopez

Liam Machin vs Kyle McGee
Both fighters avoided the standup like it was some sort of virus to them and that turned this one into a ground battle. Liam Machin utilized his BJJ skill very well throughout the fight, using the pull guard technique sometimes just to get McGee down on the mat. Machin was content with bottom position but he was also looking for better position all the time. McGee wasn't a weakling on the ground either, he displayed some good GnP throughout the fight but he didn't really take Machin down that many times with his wrestling and that's probably why he lost this fight on every round despite landing a good amount of shots and defended very well against Machin's submission. McGee should improve his takedown and takedown defense and he would be a better fighter after that. For now, it's Machin's time and it ended with a 30:27 decision. Winner: Liam Machin

Lil James Thunderstruck vs Xtreme MMA

MMA was a weird guy, he could win against anybody when he was in the zone but he's not always in the zone and that's why his record was rather average. The good thing was that, he was in the zone tonight. I was shocked at how crazy MMA came into this fight, as he dropped LJT with a combination and just dived down to side control really fast at the beginning. Even the referee was stunned by the quick-paced action. LJT was cut badly but the combination and he couldn't defend well against MMA's claim on the mount position. MMA went crazy with strikes all over LJT. LJT defended quite good there but a powerful hammerfist worsen his cut to a level that the doctor has to step in and check on the pouring fountain of LJT. After a while of checking, the doctor decided that it was too dangeorus for LJT to continue and so, MMA won by a freaking crazy TKO. Winner: Xtreme MMA

Kha Ri vs Ivan Borisov
This was quite a chess match. Both guys were technical and they were playing patient hit'n'run most of the time. Despite Borisov's stalk'n'drive approach in his takedown strategy, Ri was able to shove away a good amount of takedowns. Borisov did put him to the ground sometimes and just controlled well on the ground, landing occasional strikes to pass as much as possible before a referee standup. It was a clever strategy and it worked on round 1. However, round 2 was Ri's world. Ri sprawled very well that round and just hit Borisov whenever he found a chance to slip something in. Borisov defended quite well throughout the round but he didn't do much(that are successful) to top the effort of Ri. Round 3, Borisov took Ri down to get the advantage early on but Ri pounced back after the referee stood them up with some well-timed strikes. Borisov backed down from the swarm of punches but Ri pressed on and caught Borisov with a decisive right hook that dropped Borisov. Borisov has no choice but to cover up, forcing the referee to step in and ends the fight. Winner: Kha Ri

Tad Ghostal vs Jamie Greywar
The main event of the night was indeed a main event quality fight. Ghostal was more of a boxing guy with good BJJ skill; Greywar was the quite the opposite, utilizing his arsenal of muay thai strikes and wrestling to try and battle against Ghostal. Ghostal's punches were no doubt crisp and powerful at the same time but Greywar didn't give up easily, landing some nice kicks to the leg and body of Ghostal and occasionally attempted a wild drive and those takedowns were effective and critical to the battle. Ghostal didn't stay on the ground though, he bounced back fairly well as soon as he was down, or just hug Greywar tight enough to get a referee standup. Ghostal's first round was tough to top and Greywar bounced back with his second round performance with high aggression. Round 3 was going to be exciting for sure, seeing that both guys needed it and Greywar came in with a very good takedown. Ghostal bounced back up, waved for Greywar to come and Greywar came in with yet another takedown. That provoke actually trigger Greywar's rage I guess, as Greywar went on a takedown frenzy this round, just over and over, again and again until the end of the round. Wow, what a shutdown by Greywar and that effort earned him a 29:28 victory over Tad Ghostal. Winner: Jamie Greywar

Next week will be a two cards week, and so are the next week after next week. Well, that's two exciting weekends to look forward to, so see you all inside the arena!

This report is brought to you by Mr Evilness.

Hello fight fans, I have once again risen from the deepest part of Heel to bring you the weekly review of AXF. First, I have to say sorry that I missed out AXF Friday Fight Night 32 on last week, it's a mistake on my part. This week's Friday Fight Night 33 received a rating of 109.63 and it was a very good event to start off the bloody weekend. I don't need to tell you how many are in the arena, it's always full.

Dick Kidd vs Mark Markus
Dick Kidd won by a dick swing...not really, it's a TKO by punch and knee.

Xxtreme MMA vs Ricky Roma
Another TKO occured as MMA ended the fight with some good strikes.

Tank Abrahms vs Mohammad El Sayed
An awesome head kick KO by Tank Abrahms.

Rocky Cobra vs Nic Bravo
Nic Bravo pulled out a bravo-ly done triangle choke just before the end of the fight.

Jack Napier vs Logan Olds
Jack Napier won by unanimous decision.

Luis The Brazilian Thunder vs Kirill Dostoevsky
This was a three rounds war and round 1 was TBT's round, literally owning Dostoevsky very easily in the clinch and Dostoevsky has no answer to him that round. Additionally, he also knocked Dostoevsky down with a picture perfect high kick at the end of the round. Too bad he didn't have enough time to finish the fight. Round 2, Dostoevsky finally took TBT down for once and actually controlled the TBT easily on the ground to grind that round to his advantage. Round 3, one of the most controversial round in my opinion, started with some striking but both were pretty evenly matched in that aspect so the accuracy wasn't that good. TBT wanted to clinch but Doestoevsky did a good job avoiding and took TBT down yet again for more control. The referee was fed up though, decided to stand them up and TBT quickly secured a clinch just before the end of the round. Now that was a slow round with not much to see. That round was 10:9 TBT, 10:9 Dostoevsky and 10:10 in the judges' book. Anyway, this fight ended with 29:28 TBT, 29:27 TBT and 29:28 Doestoevsky. Winner: Luis The Brazilian Thunder

Maximus Magoo vs Percival Pickervance
This was a very good standup war but not closely contested at all. Pickervance basically outstruck Magoo at every round by avoiding the power shots(especially combination) of Magoo and just fight back with some punches of his own and that was a pretty good game plan for him. Magoo did hit some but his power wasn't enough to break Pickervance's chin and as the fight goes on, Pickervance's body shots started to put the momentum to his side. Magoo gassed out and was never able to comeback before a simple 30:27 decision. Winner: Percival Pickervance

Joe Foe vs Larry Glover
Foe wanted a takedown from the beginning of the round and Glover dodged some but also failing his own clinch in the process. Glover's hit'n'run strategy didn't work for long before Foe finally caught him with a takedown into mount. Now that was huge for Foe and he capitalized on the opportunity by unleashing some very good looking GnP on Glover and that was the best GnP in Foe's career till now I believe and Glover couldn't find a way out in time, resulting in Foe taking the TKO win as the referee had enough of the sad sight. Winner: Joe Foe

Les Norton vs Zach Morgan
This one sure wasn't long. Morgan came in with some hard strikes but Norton avoided all of them very well. Norton then clipped Morgan with a good body shot to stop the assault temporarily and allowing him some time to contribute to the offense. Sad for Morgan was that Norton's offense was just godly tonight, hitting him left and right and a beautiful combination dropped him down. Morgan stood up from the ground, only to duck to the wrong side of a powerful uppercut that put him to eternal sleep. Winner: Les Norton

Shizuka Uesugi vs Mikko Rourke
Uesugi started round 1 with a huge takedown to mount but decided to submit Rourke and not pound him on, resulting in Rourke backing to half guard and then referee standup occured. Rourke gave back the favor with his own takedown to mount and he did some good GnP there but as he went for an armbar, he gave up he position and Uesugi took top position and that was round 1 for you all. Round 2, both guys wanted to clinch but not letting the other guy clinches up on him and then Uesugi decided to change the strategy with a takedown. Uesugi didn't look happy with that and decided to just try to submit Rourke from bottom. Rourke wanted to hit Uesugi from guard but Uesugi's guard was great and Rourke's stalling went bad as soon as Uesugi locked in a guillotine on Rourke. Rourke looked like he was able to hold on but Uesugi's hands were too tight on this one and soon Rourke passed out. Winner: Shizuka Uesugi

AXF 38 Review

AXF claimed 2nd position in Sydney with this one, and this one was nothing but a very awesome card, and I mean AXF 38 for your info. A very successful event, given a rating of 157.65 by the critics and there was a huge pack of roaring fans watching this one live inside the arena, the statistic shows 5,750 tickets were sold. Let's talk a look at the fights of this freaking card:

Tin Mann vs Rusty Trombone
Rusty Trombone forced Tin Mann to tapout due to strikes.

Johnny Secunda vs Tirawin Kokin
Tirawin Kokin delivered a late fight head kick to take the win.

Mike Milson vs Willy Sanchez
Willy Sanchez put the fight to an end with an armbar.

Frank Mir vs Jeff Thorn
Frank Mir executed an armbar very well to end the fight.

Aragorn Arathorm vs Drizzt Do Urden
An unanimous decision win for Drizzt Do Urden.

Jason Glover vs Roland McGregor
Both guys were pretty even standing up and favored the combination in their game plan. One thing that McGregor included in his game plan that Glover didn't was takedown and McGregor landed one in the second minute fo round 1. McGregor claimed mount position later and started to swing hard on Glover. That was some tough minuted for Glover but he survived it nonetheless. Round 2, McGregor came in with a huge amount of confidence and his first attack landed nicely on Glover and there's another left coming in and that one took Glover out of the fight tonight. Winner: Roland McGregor

Geronimo Malkind vs Kid Miller
The fight didn't look good to Miller from the get go. Miller was landing some kicks of his own but Malkind was having the upper hand with his crisp punching skills and his punches eventually cut Miller on the face. Malkind dragged Miller into a clinch later and then took Miller down beautifully into nice control. Malkind worked good on Miller and it didn't take long before he caught Miller's arm and put him into a hell lot of pain with an americana. Winner: Geronimo Malkind

Jesse James vs Harrison King
This was a featherweight title bout and it was a short one. James looked to take King to the ground from the beginning but King was calmly sprawling over every attempt. King tried to land some combination on James and James seemed to be defending very well. Yeah, he was until a good one actually connected beautifully on his chin. He dropped down on the floor but still okay so he stood up. King knew the momentum was on his side, pressing on with a leg kick and a nice right hand that shattered James's heart and confidence off the Bondi Outdoor Arena. King continued to swing and eventually hit a very huge overhand right that put James's soul to rest. The champion remained the king after this one. Winner: Harrison King

Emilio Ramos vs Stuey Ungar
This fight continued with the short fight trend of the night as Ramos outclassed Ungar in this standup battle. Ramos cut Ungar with a vicious punch from the beginning and just pressed on with it. Ungar tried a various type of strikes but they just seemed to go away from Ramos while at the same time, Ramos was hitting a good amount of single punch. After a few body shots, Ungar looked real weak and Ramos took the chance to finish him off with a deja vu overhand right. Hot damn, now that's a replay of Harrison King's finish. Winner: Emilio Ramos

Silver Boo vs Winston Gunn
I always love a fight with two undefeated fighters because I know they will be fighting all out on that fight. This was mostly a standup battle from the beginning to the end of it and Gunn was doing better than Boo in the standup department. Gunn was aggressive but not missing a lot there and he has the cardio to support his pace. Boo did fight back in the standup but he didn't land as many as Gunn. One thing that Gunn was clever to have in his game plan was leg kicks. He kicked the juice out of Boo early on and that prevented Boo from boxing effectively. Boo, was good at one thing though, the clinch but Gunn was able to break his clinch quite easily so Boo was not at the winning side throughout the rounds. I thought this would go to a decision despite both fighters were brawling so hard there with blood covering their faces(both were cut) and Gunn relentless attacks finally broke Boo's endurance in round 3. Gunn hit a super nice 3 hit combination that time and we saw Boo's legs were shaking. No, it's not because of the earlier leg kicks and Gunn knew that very well. He entered the range and just swung madly at Boo. Boo defended for awhile there but he was backed up to the cage, allowing Gunn to unlock with everything until he crumpled. Man, oh man, that's some huge strikes and a great win for Winston Gunn. Winner: Winston Gunn

Can AXF 39 top the newly broke event rating record of 157.65? We will know it by next week, until then, it's time to stay in hell for me.
